창세기 41

1. 만 이 년 후에 바로가 꿈을 꾼즉 자기가 하숫가에 섰는데
  When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile,

2. 보니 아름답고 살진 일곱 암소가 하수에서 올라와 갈밭에서 뜯어먹고
  when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds.

3. 그 뒤에 또 흉악하고 파리한 다른 일곱 암소가 하수에서 올라와 그 소와 함께 하숫가에 섰더니
  After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank.

4. 그 흉악하고 파리한 소가 그 아름답고 살진 일곱 소를 먹은지라 바로가 곧 깨었다가
  And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

5. 다시 잠이 들어 꿈을 꾸니 한 줄기에 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭이 나오고
  He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk.

6. 그 후에 또 세약하고 동풍에 마른 일곱 이삭이 나오더니
  After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted--thin and scorched by the east wind.

7. 그 세약한 일곱 이삭이 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭을 삼킨지라 바로가 깬즉 꿈이라
  The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.

8. 아침에 그 마음이 번민하여 보내어 애굽의 술객과 박사를 모두 불러 그들에게 그 꿈을 고하였으나 그것을 바로에게 해석하는 자가 없었더라
  In the morning his mind was troubled, so he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.

9. 술 맡은 관원장이 바로에게 고하여 가로되 내가 오늘날 나의 허물을 추억하나이다
  Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, "Today I am reminded of my shortcomings.

10. 바로께서 종들에게 노하사 나와 떡 굽는 관원장을 시위대장의 집에 가두셨을 때에
  Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard.

11. 나와 그가 하룻밤에 꿈을 꾼즉 각기 징조가 있는 꿈이라
  Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.

12. 그 곳에 시위대장의 종 된 히브리 소년이 우리와 함께 있기로 우리가 그에게 고하매 그가 우리의 꿈을 풀되 그 꿈대로 각인에게 해석하더니
  Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream.

13. 그 해석한 대로 되어 나는 복직하고 그는 매여 달렸나이다
  And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was hanged."

14. 이에 바로가 보내어 요셉을 부르매 그들이 급히 그를 옥에서 낸지라 요셉이 곧 수염을 깎고 그 옷을 갈아 입고 바로에게 들어오니
  So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.

15. 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 내가 한 꿈을 꾸었으나 그것을 해석하는 자가 없더니 들은즉 너는 꿈을 들으면 능히 푼다더라
  Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it."

16. 요셉이 바로에게 대답하여 가로되 이는 내게 있는 것이 아니라 하나님이 바로에게 평안한 대답을 하시리이다
  "I cannot do it," Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

17. 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 내가 꿈에 하숫가에 서서
  Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile,

18. 보니 살지고 아름다운 일곱 암소가 하숫가에 올라와 갈밭에서 뜯어먹고
  when out of the river there came up seven cows, fat and sleek, and they grazed among the reeds.

19. 그 뒤에 또 약하고 심히 흉악하고 파리한 일곱 암소가 올라오니 그같이 흉악한 것들은 애굽 땅에서 내가 아직 보지 못한 것이라
  After them, seven other cows came up--scrawny and very ugly and lean. I had never seen such ugly cows in all the land of Egypt.

20. 그 파리하고 흉악한 소가 처음의 일곱 살진 소를 먹었으며
  The lean, ugly cows ate up the seven fat cows that came up first.

21. 먹었으나 먹은 듯하지 아니하여 여전히 흉악하더라 내가 곧 깨었다가
  But even after they ate them, no one could tell that they had done so; they looked just as ugly as before. Then I woke up.

22. 다시 꿈에 보니 한 줄기에 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭이 나오고
  "In my dreams I also saw seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk.

23. 그 후에 또 세약하고 동풍에 마른 일곱 이삭이 나더니
  After them, seven other heads sprouted--withered and thin and scorched by the east wind.

24. 그 세약한 이삭이 좋은 일곱 이삭을 삼키더라 내가 그 꿈을 술객에게 말하였으나 그것을 내게 보이는 자가 없느니라
  The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but none could explain it to me."

25. 요셉이 바로에게 고하되 바로의 꿈은 하나이라 하나님이 그 하실 일을 바로에게 보이심이니이다
  Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26. 일곱 좋은 암소는 일곱 해요 일곱 좋은 이삭도 일곱 해니 그 꿈은 하나이라
  The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream.

27. 그 후에 올라온 파리하고 흉악한 일곱 소는 칠 년이요 동풍에 말라 속이 빈 일곱 이삭도 일곱 해 흉년이니
  The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.

28. 내가 바로에게 고하기를 하나님이 그 하실 일로 바로에게 보이신다 함이 이것이라
  "It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do.

29. 온 애굽 땅에 일곱 해 큰 풍년이 있겠고
  Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt,

30. 후에 일곱 해 흉년이 들므로 애굽 땅에 있던 풍년을 다 잊어버리게 되고 이 땅이 기근으로 멸망되리니
  but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land.

31. 후에 든 그 흉년이 너무 심하므로 이전 풍년을 이 땅에서 기억하지 못하게 되리이다
  The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe.

32. 바로께서 꿈을 두 번 겹쳐 꾸신 것은 하나님이 이 일을 정하셨음이라 속히 행하시리니
  The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.

33. 이제 바로께서는 명철하고 지혜 있는 사람을 택하여 애굽 땅을 치리하게 하시고
  "And now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt.

34. 바로께서는 또 이같이 행하사 국중에 여러 관리를 두어 그 일곱 해 풍년에 애굽 땅의 오분의 일을 거두되
  Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.

35. 그 관리로 장차 올 풍년의 모든 곡물을 거두고 그 곡물을 바로의 손에 돌려 양식을 위하여 각 성에 적치하게 하소서
  They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food.

36. 이와 같이 그 곡물을 이 땅에 저장하여 애굽 땅에 임할 일곱 해 흉년을 예비하시면 땅이 이 흉년을 인하여 멸망치 아니하리이다
  This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine."

37. 바로와 그 모든 신하가 이 일을 좋게 여긴지라
  The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials.

38. 바로가 그 신하들에게 이르되 이와 같이 하나님의 신이 감동한 사람을 우리가 어찌 얻을 수 있으리요 하고
  So Pharaoh asked them, "Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?"

39. 요셉에게 이르되 하나님이 이 모든 것을 네게 보이셨으니 너와 같이 명철하고 지혜 있는 자가 없도다
  Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.

40. 너는 내 집을 치리하라 내 백성이 다 네 명을 복종하리니 나는 너보다 높음이 보좌뿐이니라
  You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you."

41. 바로가 또 요셉에게 이르되 내가 너로 애굽 온 땅을 총리하게 하노라 하고
  So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."

42. 자기의 인장 반지를 빼어 요셉의 손에 끼우고 그에게 세마포 옷을 입히고 금사슬을 목에 걸고
  Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

43. 자기에게 있는 버금 수레에 그를 태우매 무리가 그 앞에서 소리지르기를 엎드리라 하더라 바로가 그로 애굽 전국을 총리하게 하였더라
  He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and men shouted before him, "Make way!" Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

44. 바로가 요셉에게 이르되 나는 바로라 애굽 온 땅에서 네 허락 없이는 수족을 놀릴 자가 없으리라 하고
  Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt."

45. 그가 요셉의 이름을 사브낫바네아라 하고 또 온 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫을 그에게 주어 아내를 삼게 하니라 요셉이 나가 애굽 온 땅을 순찰하니라
  Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.

46. 요셉이 애굽 왕 바로 앞에 설 때에 삼십 세라 그가 바로 앞을 떠나 애굽 온 땅을 순찰하니
  Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh's presence and traveled throughout Egypt.

47. 일곱 해 풍년에 토지 소출이 심히 많은지라
  During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully.

48. 요셉이 애굽 땅에 있는 그 칠 년 곡물을 거두어 각 성에 저축하되 각 성 주위의 밭의 곡물을 그 성중에 저장하매
  Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it.

49. 저장한 곡식이 바다 모래같이 심히 많아 세기를 그쳤으니 그 수가 한이 없음이었더라
  Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.

50. 흉년이 들기 전에 요셉에게 두 아들을 낳되 곧 온 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫이 그에게 낳은지라
  Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.

51. 요셉이 그 장자의 이름을 므낫세라 하였으니 하나님이 나로 나의 모든 고난과 나의 아비의 온 집 일을 잊어버리게 하셨다 함이요
  Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, "It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household."

52. 차자의 이름을 에브라임이라 하였으니 하나님이 나로 나의 수고한 땅에서 창성하게 하셨다 함이었더라
  The second son he named Ephraim and said, "It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering."

53. 애굽 땅에 일곱 해 풍년이 그치고
  The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end,

54. 요셉의 말과 같이 일곱 해 흉년이 들기 시작하매 각국에는 기근이 있으나 애굽 온 땅에는 식물이 있더니
  and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food.

55. 애굽 온 땅이 주리매 백성이 바로에게 부르짖어 양식을 구하는지라 바로가 애굽 모든 백성에게 이르되 요셉에게 가서 그가 너희에게 이르는 대로 하라 하니라
  When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you."

56. 온 지면에 기근이 있으매 요셉이 모든 창고를 열고 애굽 백성에게 팔쌔 애굽 땅에 기근이 심하며
  When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt.

57. 각국 백성도 양식을 사려고 애굽으로 들어와 요셉에게 이르렀으니 기근이 온 세상에 심함이었더라
  And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world.

마가복음 11

1. 저희가 예루살렘에 가까이 와서 감람 산 벳바게와 베다니에 이르렀을 때에 예수께서 제자 중 둘을 보내시며
  As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,

2. 이르시되 너희 맞은편 마을로 가라 그리로 들어가면 곧 아직 아무 사람도 타 보지 않은 나귀 새끼의 매여 있는 것을 보리니 풀어 끌고 오너라
  saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

3. 만일 누가 너희에게 왜 이리 하느냐 묻거든 주가 쓰시겠다 하라 그리하면 즉시 이리로 보내리라 하시니
  If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.'"

4. 제자들이 가서 본즉 나귀 새끼가 문 앞 거리에 매여 있는지라 그것을 푸니
  They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it,

5. 거기 섰는 사람 중 어떤 이들이 가로되 나귀 새끼를 풀어 무엇하려느냐 하매
  some people standing there asked, "What are you doing, untying that colt?"

6. 제자들이 예수의 이르신 대로 말한대 이에 허락하는지라
  They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.

7. 나귀 새끼를 예수께로 끌고 와서 자기들의 겉옷을 그 위에 걸쳐 두매 예수께서 타시니
  When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it.

8. 많은 사람은 자기 겉옷과 다른이들은 밭에서 벤 나무가지를 길에 펴며
  Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields.

9. 앞에서 가고 뒤에서 따르는 자들이 소리지르되 호산나 찬송하리로다 주의 이름으로 오시는 이여
  Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

10. 찬송하리로다 오는 우리 조상 다윗의 나라여 가장 높은 곳에서 호산나 하더라
  "Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!" "Hosanna in the highest!"

11. 예수께서 예루살렘에 이르러 성전에 들어가사 모든 것을 둘러보시고 때가 이미 저물매 열두 제자를 데리시고 베다니에 나가시다
  Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

12. 이튿날 저희가 베다니에서 나왔을 때에 예수께서 시장하신지라
  The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry.

13. 멀리서 잎사귀 있는 한 무화과나무를 보시고 혹 그 나무에 무엇이 있을까 하여 가셨더니 가서 보신즉 잎사귀 외에 아무것도 없더라 이는 무화과의 때가 아님이라
  Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.

14. 예수께서 나무에게 일러 가라사대 이제부터 영원토록 사람이 네게서 열매를 따먹지 못하리라 하시니 제자들이 이를 듣더라
  Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.

15. 저희가 예루살렘에 들어가니라 예수께서 성전에 들어가사 성전 안에서 매매하는 자들을 내어쫓으시며 돈 바꾸는 자들의 상과 비둘기 파는 자들의 의자를 둘러 엎으시며
  On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves,

16. 아무나 기구를 가지고 성전 안으로 지나다님을 허치 아니하시고
  and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.

17. 이에 가르쳐 이르시되 기록된 바 내 집은 만민의 기도하는 집이라 칭함을 받으리라고 하지 아니하였느냐 너희는 강도의 굴혈을 만들었도다 하시매
  And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: "'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it 'a den of robbers.'"

18. 대제사장들과 서기관들이 듣고 예수를 어떻게 멸할까 하고 꾀하니 이는 무리가 다 그의 교훈을 기이히 여기므로 그를 두려워함일러라
  The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

19. 매양 저물매 저희가 성 밖으로 나가더라
  When evening came, they went out of the city.

20. 저희가 아침에 지나갈 때에 무화과나무가 뿌리로부터 마른 것을 보고
  In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

21. 베드로가 생각이 나서 여짜오되 랍비여 보소서 저주하신 무화과나무가 말랐나이다
  Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"

22. 예수께서 대답하여 저희에게 이르시되 하나님을 믿으라
  "Have faith in God," Jesus answered.

23. 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 이 산더러 들리어 바다에 던지우라 하며 그 말하는 것이 이룰 줄 믿고 마음에 의심치 아니하면 그대로 되리라
  "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

24. 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하노니 무엇이든지 기도하고 구하는 것은 받은 줄로 믿으라 그리하면 너희에게 그대로 되리라
  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

25. 서서 기도할 때에 아무에게나 혐의가 있거든 용서하라 그리하여야 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지도 너희 허물을 사하여 주시리라 하셨더라
  And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

27. 저희가 다시 예루살렘에 들어가니라 예수께서 성전에서 걸어다니실 때에 대제사장들과 서기관들과 장로들이 나아와
  They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him.

28. 가로되 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하느뇨 누가 이런 일할 이 권세를 주었느뇨
  "By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you authority to do this?"

29. 예수께서 가라사대 나도 한 말을 너희에게 물으리니 대답하라 그리하면 나도 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하는지 이르리라
  Jesus replied, "I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

30. 요한의 세례가 하늘로서냐 사람에게로서냐 내게 대답하라
  John's baptism--was it from heaven, or from men? Tell me!"

31. 저희가 서로 의논하여 가로되 만일 하늘로서라 하면 어찌하여 저를 믿지 아니하였느냐 할 것이니
  They discussed it among themselves and said, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?'

32. 그러면 사람에게로서라 할까 하였으나 모든 사람이 요한을 참 선지자로 여기므로 저희가 백성을 무서워하는지라
  But if we say, 'From men' . . . ." (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)

33. 이에 예수께 대답하여 가로되 우리가 알지 못하노라 하니 예수께서 가라사대 나도 무슨 권세로 이런 일을 하는지 너희에게 이르지 아니하리라 하시니라
  So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Jesus said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

욥기 7

1. 세상에 있는 인생에게 전쟁이 있지 아니하냐 그 날이 품군의 날과 같지 아니하냐
  "Does not man have hard service on earth? Are not his days like those of a hired man?

2. 종은 저물기를 심히 기다리고 품군은 그 삯을 바라나니
  Like a slave longing for the evening shadows, or a hired man waiting eagerly for his wages,

3. 이와 같이 내가 여러 달째 곤고를 받으니 수고로운 밤이 내게 작정되었구나
  so I have been allotted months of futility, and nights of misery have been assigned to me.

4. 내가 누울 때면 말하기를 언제나 일어날꼬, 언제나 밤이 갈꼬 하며 새벽까지 이리 뒤척, 저리 뒤척 하는구나
  When I lie down I think, 'How long before I get up?' The night drags on, and I toss till dawn.

5. 내 살에는 구더기와 흙 조각이 의복처럼 입혔고 내 가죽은 합창되었다가 터지는구나
  My body is clothed with worms and scabs, my skin is broken and festering.

6. 나의 날은 베틀의 북보다 빠르니 소망 없이 보내는구나
  "My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and they come to an end without hope.

7. 내 생명이 한 호흡 같음을 생각하옵소서 나의 눈이 다시 복된 것을 보지 못하리이다
  Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath; my eyes will never see happiness again.

8. 나를 본 자의 눈이 다시는 나를 보지 못할 것이고 주의 눈이 나를 향하실찌라도 내가 있지 아니하리이다
  The eye that now sees me will see me no longer; you will look for me, but I will be no more.

9. 구름이 사라져 없어짐같이 음부로 내려가는 자는 다시 올라오지 못할 것이오니
  As a cloud vanishes and is gone, so he who goes down to the grave does not return.

10. 그는 다시 자기 집으로 돌아가지 못하겠고 자기 처소도 다시 그를 알지 못하리이다
  He will never come to his house again; his place will know him no more.

11. 그런즉 내가 내 입을 금하지 아니하고 내 마음의 아픔을 인하여 말하며 내 영혼의 괴로움을 인하여 원망하리이다
  "Therefore I will not keep silent; I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

12. 내가 바다니이까 용이니이까 주께서 어찌하여 나를 지키시나이까
  Am I the sea, or the monster of the deep, that you put me under guard?

13. 혹시 내가 말하기를 내 자리가 나를 위로하고 내 침상이 내 수심을 풀리라 할 때에
  When I think my bed will comfort me and my couch will ease my complaint,

14. 주께서 꿈으로 나를 놀래시고 이상으로 나를 두렵게 하시나이다
  even then you frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions,

15. 이러므로 내 마음에 숨이 막히기를 원하오니 뼈보다도 죽는 것이 나으니이다
  so that I prefer strangling and death, rather than this body of mine.

16. 내가 생명을 싫어하고 항상 살기를 원치 아니하오니 나를 놓으소서 내 날은 헛것이니이다
  I despise my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone; my days have no meaning.

17. 사람이 무엇이관대 주께서 크게 여기사 그에게 마음을 두시고
  "What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so much attention,

18. 아침마다 권징하시며 분초마다 시험하시나이까
  that you examine him every morning and test him every moment?

19. 주께서 내게서 눈을 돌이키지 아니하시며 나의 침 삼킬 동안도 나를 놓지 아니하시기를 어느 때까지 하시리이까
  Will you never look away from me, or let me alone even for an instant?

20. 사람을 감찰하시는 자여 내가 범죄하였은들 주께 무슨 해가 되오리이까 어찌하여 나로 과녁을 삼으셔서 스스로 무거운 짐이 되게 하셨나이까
  If I have sinned, what have I done to you, O watcher of men? Why have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you?

21. 주께서 어찌하여 내 허물을 사하여 주지 아니하시며 내 죄악을 제하여 버리지 아니 하시나이까 내가 이제 흙에 누우리니 주께서 나를 부지런히 찾으실찌라도 내가 있지 아니하리이다
  Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more."

로마서 11

1. 그러므로 내가 말하노니 하나님이 자기 백성을 버리셨느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 나도 이스라엘인이요 아브라함의 씨에서 난 자요 베냐민 지파라
  I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

2. 하나님이 그 미리 아신 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하셨나니 너희가 성경이 엘리야를 가리켜 말한 것을 알지 못하느냐 저가 이스라엘을 하나님께 송사하되
  God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel:

3. 주여 저희가 주의 선지자들을 죽였으며 주의 제단들을 헐어버렸고 나만 남았는데 내 목숨도 찾나이다 하니
  "Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me"?

4. 저에게 하신 대답이 무엇이뇨 내가 나를 위하여 바알에게 무릎을 꿇지 아니한 사람 칠천을 남겨 두었다 하셨으니
  And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

5. 그런즉 이와 같이 이제도 은혜로 택하심을 따라 남은 자가 있느니라
  So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

6. 만일 은혜로 된 것이면 행위로 말미암지 않음이니 그렇지 않으면 은혜가 은혜되지 못하느니라
  And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

7. 그런즉 어떠하뇨 이스라엘이 구하는 그것을 얻지 못하고 오직 택하심을 입은 자가 얻었고 그 남은 자들은 완악하여졌느니라
  What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,

8. 기록된 바 하나님이 오늘날까지 저희에게 혼미한 심령과 보지 못할 눈과 듣지 못할 귀를 주셨다 함과 같으니라
  as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."

9. 또 다윗이 가로되 저희 밥상이 올무와 덫과 거치는 것과 보응이 되게 하옵시고
  And David says: "May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.

10. 저희 눈은 흐려 보지 못하고 저희 등은 항상 굽게 하옵소서 하였느니라
  May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever."

11. 그러므로 내가 말하노니 저희가 넘어지기까지 실족하였느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 저희의 넘어짐으로 구원이 이방인에게 이르러 이스라엘로 시기나게 함이니라
  Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.

12. 저희의 넘어짐이 세상의 부요함이 되며 저희의 실패가 이방인의 부요함이 되거든 하물며 저희의 충만함이리요
  But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!

13. 내가 이방인인 너희에게 말하노라 내가 이방인의 사도인 만큼 내 직분을 영광스럽게 여기노니
  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry

14. 이는 곧 내 골육을 아무쪼록 시기케 하여 저희 중에서 얼마를 구원하려 함이라
  in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.

15. 저희를 버리는 것이 세상의 화목이 되거든 그 받아들이는 것이 죽은 자 가운데서 사는 것이 아니면 무엇이리요
  For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16. 제사하는 처음 익은 곡식 가루가 거룩한즉 떡덩이도 그러하고 뿌리가 거룩한즉 가지도 그러하니라
  If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17. 또한 가지 얼마가 꺾여졌는데 돌감람나무인 네가 그들 중에 접붙임이 되어 참감람나무 뿌리의 진액을 함께 받는 자 되었은즉
  If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,

18. 그 가지들을 향하여 자긍하지 말라 자긍할찌라도 네가 뿌리를 보전하는 것이 아니요 뿌리가 너를 보전하는 것이니라
  do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19. 그러면 네 말이 가지들이 꺾이운 것은 나로 접붙임을 받게 하려 함이라 하리니
  You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."

20. 옳도다 저희는 믿지 아니하므로 꺾이우고 너는 믿으므로 섰느니라 높은 마음을 품지 말고 도리어 두려워하라
  Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.

21. 하나님이 원 가지들도 아끼지 아니하셨은즉 너도 아끼지 아니하시리라
  For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

22. 그러므로 하나님의 인자와 엄위를 보라 넘어지는 자들에게는 엄위가 있으니 너희가 만일 하나님의 인자에 거하면 그 인자가 너희에게 있으리라 그렇지 않으면 너도 찍히는 바 되리라
  Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

23. 저희도 믿지 아니하는 데 거하지 아니하면 접붙임을 얻으리니 이는 저희를 접붙이실 능력이 하나님께 있음이라
  And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

24. 네가 원 돌감람나무에서 찍힘을 받고 본성을 거스려 좋은 감람나무에 접붙임을 얻었은즉 원 가지인 이 사람들이야 얼마나 더 자기 감람나무에 접붙이심을 얻으랴
  After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

25. 형제들아 너희가 스스로 지혜 있다 함을 면키 위하여 이 비밀을 너희가 모르기를 내가 원치 아니하노니 이 비밀은 이방인의 충만한 수가 들어오기까지 이스라엘의 더러는 완악하게 된 것이라
  I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

26. 그리하여 온 이스라엘이 구원을 얻으리라 기록된 바 구원자가 시온에서 오사 야곱에게서 경건치 않은 것을 돌이키시겠고
  And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

27. 내가 저희 죄를 없이 할 때에 저희에게 이루어질 내 언약이 이것이라 함과 같으니라
  And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."

28. 복음으로 하면 저희가 너희를 인하여 원수 된 자요 택하심으로 하면 조상들을 인하여 사랑을 입은 자라
  As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,

29. 하나님의 은사와 부르심에는 후회하심이 없느니라
  for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

30. 너희가 전에 하나님께 순종치 아니하더니 이스라엘의 순종치 아니함으로 이제 긍휼을 입었는지라
  Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,

31. 이와 같이 이 사람들이 순종치 아니하니 이는 너희에게 베푸시는 긍휼로 이제 저희도 긍휼을 얻게 하려 하심이니라
  so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.

32. 하나님이 모든 사람을 순종치 아니하는 가운데 가두어 두심은 모든 사람에게 긍휼을 베풀려 하심이로다
  For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

33. 깊도다 하나님의 지혜와 지식의 부요함이여, 그의 판단은 측량치 못할 것이며 그의 길은 찾지 못할 것이로다
  Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

34. 누가 주의 마음을 알았느뇨 누가 그의 모사가 되었느뇨
  "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?"

35. 누가 주께 먼저 드려서 갚으심을 받겠느뇨
  "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?"

36. 이는 만물이 주에게서 나오고 주로 말미암고 주에게로 돌아감이라 영광이 그에게 세세에 있으리로다 아멘
  For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
