역대상 9-10

1. 온 이스라엘이 그 보계대로 계수되고 이스라엘 열왕기에 기록되니라 유다가 범죄함을 인하여 바벨론으로 사로잡혀 갔더니
  All Israel was listed in the genealogies recorded in the book of the kings of Israel. The people of Judah were taken captive to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.

2. 먼저 그 본성으로 돌아와서 그 기업에 거한 자는 이스라엘 제사장들과 레위 사람과 느디님 사람들이라
  Now the first to resettle on their own property in their own towns were some Israelites, priests, Levites and temple servants.

3. 유다 자손과 베냐민 자손과 에브라임과 므낫세 자손 중에서 예루살렘에 거한 자는
  Those from Judah, from Benjamin, and from Ephraim and Manasseh who lived in Jerusalem were:

4. 유다의 아들 베레스 자손 중에 우대니 저는 암미훗의 아들이요 오므리의 손자요 이므리의 증손이요 바니의 현손이며
  Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.

5. 실로 사람 중에서는 장자 아사야와 그 아들들이요
  Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6. 세라 자손 중에서는 여우엘과 그 형제 육백구십 인이요
  Of the Zerahites: Jeuel. The people from Judah numbered 690.

7. 베냐민 자손 중에서는 핫스누아의 증손 호다위아의 손자 므술람의 아들 살루요
  Of the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8. 여로함의 아들 이브느야와 미그리의 손자 웃시의 아들 엘라요 이브니야의 증손 르우엘의 손자 스바댜의 아들 무술람이요
  Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Micri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah.

9. 또 저의 형제들이라 그 보계대로 계수하면 구백 오십 륙인이니다 그 집의 족장된 자들이더라
  The people from Benjamin, as listed in their genealogy, numbered 956. All these men were heads of their families.

10. 제사장 중에서는 여다야와 여호야립과 야긴과
  Of the priests: Jedaiah; Jehoiarib; Jakin;

11. 하나님의 전을 맡은 자 아사랴니 저는 힐기야의 아들이요 므술람의 손자요 사독의 증손이요 므라욧의 현손이요 아히둡의 오 대 손이며
  Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the official in charge of the house of God;

12. 또 아다야니 저는 여로함의 아들이요 바스훌의 손자요 말기야의 증손이며 또 마아새니 저는 아디엘의 아들이요 야세라의 손자요 므술람의 증손이요 므실레밋의 현손이요 임멜의 오 대 손이며
  Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malkijah; and Maasai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer.

13. 또 그 형제들이니 그 집의 족장이라 하나님의 전의 일에 수종들 재능이 있는 자가 모두 일천 칠백 륙십인이더라
  The priests, who were heads of families, numbered 1,760. They were able men, responsible for ministering in the house of God.

14. 레위 사람 중에서는 므라리 자손 스마야니 저는 핫숩의 아들이요 아스리감의 손자요 하사뱌의 증손이며
  Of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, a Merarite;

15. 또 박박갈과 헤레스와 갈랄과 맛다냐니 저는 미가의 아들이요 시그리의 손자요 아삽의 증손이며
  Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zicri, the son of Asaph;

16. 또 오바댜니 저는 스마야의 아들이요 갈랄의 손자요 여두둔의 증손이며 또 베레갸니 저는 아사의 아들이요 엘가나의 손자라 느도바 사람의 향리에 거하였더라
  Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

17. 문지기는 살룸과 악굽과 달몬과 아히만과 그 형제들이니 살룸은 그 두목이라
  The gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman and their brothers, Shallum their chief

18. 이 사람들은 전에 왕의 문 동편 곧 레위 자손의 영의 문지기며
  being stationed at the King's Gate on the east, up to the present time. These were the gatekeepers belonging to the camp of the Levites.

19. 고라의 증손 에비아삽의 손자 고레의 아들 살룸과 그 종족 형제 곧 고라의 자손이 수종드는 일을 맡아 성막 문들을 지켰으니 그 열조도 여호와의 영을 맡고 그 들어가는 곳을 지켰으며
  Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his fellow gatekeepers from his family (the Korahites) were responsible for guarding the thresholds of the Tent just as their fathers had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the dwelling of the LORD.

20. 여호와께서 함께 하신 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 옛적에 그 무리를 거느렸고
  In earlier times Phinehas son of Eleazar was in charge of the gatekeepers, and the LORD was with him.

21. 므셀레먀의 아들 스가랴는 회막 문지기가 되었더라
  Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

22. 택함을 입어 문지기 된 자가 모두 이백 열둘이니 이는 그 향리에서 그 보계대로 계수된 자요 다윗과 선견자 사무엘이 전에 세워서 이 직분을 맡긴 자라
  Altogether, those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds numbered 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. The gatekeepers had been assigned to their positions of trust by David and Samuel the seer.

23. 저희와 그 자손이 그 반열을 좇아 여호와의 전 곧 성막 문을 지켰는데
  They and their descendants were in charge of guarding the gates of the house of the LORD--the house called the Tent.

24. 이 문지기가 동 서, 남, 북 사방에 섰고
  The gatekeepers were on the four sides: east, west, north and south.

25. 그 향리에 있는 형제들은 이레마다 와서 함께 하니
  Their brothers in their villages had to come from time to time and share their duties for seven-day periods.

26. 이는 문지기의 두목 된 레위 사람 넷이 긴요한 직분을 맡아 하나님의 전 모든 방과 곳간을 지켰음이라
  But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God.

27. 저희는 하나님의 전을 맡은 직분이 있으므로 전 사면에 유하며 아침마다 문을 여는 책임이 있었더라
  They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.

28. 그 중에 어떤 자는 섬기는 데 쓰는 기명을 맡아서 그 수효대로 들여가고 수효대로 내어오며
  Some of them were in charge of the articles used in the temple service; they counted them when they were brought in and when they were taken out.

29. 또 어떤 자는 성소의 기구와 모든 기명과 고운 가루와 포도주와 기름과 유향과 향품을 맡았으며
  Others were assigned to take care of the furnishings and all the other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the flour and wine, and the oil, incense and spices.

30. 또 제사장의 아들 중에 어떤 자는 향품으로 향기름을 만들었으며
  But some of the priests took care of mixing the spices.

31. 고라 자손 살룸의 장자 맛디댜라 하는 레위 사람은 남비에 지지는 것을 맡았으며
  A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with the responsibility for baking the offering bread.

32. 또 그 형제 그핫 자손 중에 어떤 자는 진설하는 떡을 맡아 안식일마다 준비하였더라
  Some of their Kohathite brothers were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.

33. 또 찬송하는 자가 있으니 곧 레위 족장이라 저희가 골방에 거하여 주야로 자기 직분에 골몰하므로 다른 일은 하지 아니하였더라
  Those who were musicians, heads of Levite families, stayed in the rooms of the temple and were exempt from other duties because they were responsible for the work day and night.

34. 이상은 대대로 레위의 족장이요 으뜸이라 예루살렘에 거하였더라
  All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.

35. 기브온의 조상 여이엘은 기브온에 거하였으니 그 아내의 이름은 마아가라
  Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah,

36. 그 장자는 압돈이요 다음은 술과 기스와 바알과 넬과 나답과
  and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

37. 그돌과 아히오와 스가랴와 미글롯이며
  Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah and Mikloth.

38. 미글롯은 시므암을 낳았으니 이 무리도 그 형제로 더불어 서로 대하여 예루살렘에 거하였더라
  Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.

39. 넬은 기스를 낳았고 기스는 사울을 낳았고 사울은 요나단과 말기수아와 아비나답과 에스바알을 낳았으며
  Ner was the father of Kish, Kish the father of Saul, and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.

40. 요나단의 아들은 므립바알이라 므립바알이 미가를 낳았고
  The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal, who was the father of Micah.

41. 미가의 아들들은 비돈과 멜렉과 다레아와 아하스며
  The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea and Ahaz.

42. 아하스는 야라를 낳았고 야라는 알레멧과 아스마웻과 시므리를 낳았고 시므리는 모사를 낳았고
  Ahaz was the father of Jadah, Jadah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza.

43. 모사는 비느아를 낳았으며 비느아의 아들은 르바야요 그 아들은 엘르아사요 그 아들은 아셀이며
  Moza was the father of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.

44. 아셀이 여섯 아들이 있으니 그 이름은 아스리감과 보그루와 이스마엘과 스아랴와 오바댜와 하난이라 아셀의 아들들이 이러하였더라
  Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.

1. 블레셋 사람과 이스라엘이 싸우더니 이스라엘 사람들이 블레셋 사람 앞에서 도망하다가 길보아 산에서 죽임을 받고 엎드러지니라
  Now the Philistines fought against Israel; the Israelites fled before them, and many fell slain on Mount Gilboa.

2. 블레셋 사람이 사울과 그 아들들을 추격하여 사울의 아들 요나단과 아비나답과 말기수아를 죽이고
  The Philistines pressed hard after Saul and his sons, and they killed his sons Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki-Shua.

3. 사울을 맹렬히 치며 활 쏘는 자가 사울에게 따라 미치매 사울이 그 쏘는 자를 인하여 심히 군급하여
  The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him.

4. 자기의 병기 가진 자에게 이르되 너는 칼을 빼어 나를 찌르라 저 할례 없는 자가 와서 나를 욕되게 할까 두려워하노라 그러나 그 병기 가진 자가 심히 두려워하여 즐겨 행치 아니하매 사울이 자기 칼을 취하고 그 위에 엎드러지니
  Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and abuse me." But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

5. 병기 가진 자가 사울의 죽음을 보고 자기도 칼에 엎드러져 죽으니라
  When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died.

6. 이와 같이 사울과 그 세 아들과 그 온 집이 함께 죽으니라
  So Saul and his three sons died, and all his house died together.

7. 골짜기에 있는 모든 이스라엘 사람이 저희의 도망한 것과 사울과 그 아들들의 다 죽은 것을 보고 그 성읍들을 버리고 도망하매 블레셋 사람이 와서 거기 거하니라
  When all the Israelites in the valley saw that the army had fled and that Saul and his sons had died, they abandoned their towns and fled. And the Philistines came and occupied them.

8. 이튿날에 블레셋 사람이 와서 죽임을 당한 자를 벗기다가 사울과 그 아들들이 길보아 산에 엎드러졌음을 보고
  The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.

9. 곧 사울을 벗기고 그 머리와 갑옷을 취하고 사람을 블레셋 땅 사방에 보내어 모든 우상과 뭇 백성에게 광포하게 하고
  They stripped him and took his head and his armor, and sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to proclaim the news among their idols and their people.

10. 사울의 갑옷을 그 신의 묘에 두고 그 머리를 다곤의 묘에 단지라
  They put his armor in the temple of their gods and hung up his head in the temple of Dagon.

11. 길르앗야베스 모든 사람이 블레셋 사람의 사울에게 행한 모든 일을 듣고
  When all the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead heard of everything the Philistines had done to Saul,

12. 용사들이 다 일어나서 사울의 시체와 그 아들들의 시체를 취하여 야베스로 가져다가 그 곳 상수리나무 아래 그 해골을 장사하고 칠 일을 금식하였더라
  all their valiant men went and took the bodies of Saul and his sons and brought them to Jabesh. Then they buried their bones under the great tree in Jabesh, and they fasted seven days.

13. 사울의 죽은 것은 여호와께 범죄하였음이라 저가 여호와의 말씀을 지키지 아니하고 또 신접한 자에게 가르치기를 청하고
  Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance,

14. 여호와께 묻지 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 저를 죽이시고 그 나라를 이새의 아들 다윗에게 돌리셨더라
  and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

히브리서 12

1. 이러므로 우리에게 구름같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니 모든 무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 경주하며
  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

2. 믿음의 주요 또 온전케 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 저는 그 앞에 있는 즐거움을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라
  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3. 너희가 피곤하여 낙심치 않기 위하여 죄인들의 이같이 자기에게 거역한 일을 참으신 자를 생각하라
  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

4. 너희가 죄와 싸우되 아직 피 흘리기까지는 대항치 아니하고
  In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

5. 또 아들들에게 권하는 것같이 너희에게 권면하신 말씀을 잊었도다 일렀으되 내 아들아 주의 징계하심을 경히 여기지 말며 그에게 꾸지람을 받을 때에 낙심하지 말라
  And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

6. 주께서 그 사랑하시는 자를 징계하시고 그의 받으시는 아들마다 채찍질하심이니라 하였으니
  because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

7. 너희가 참음은 징계를 받기 위함이라 하나님이 아들과 같이 너희를 대우하시나니 어찌 아비가 징계하지 않는 아들이 있으리요
  Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?

8. 징계는 다 받는 것이거늘 너희에게 없으면 사생자요 참 아들이 아니니라
  If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.

9. 또 우리 육체의 아버지가 우리를 징계하여도 공경하였거든 하물며 모든 영의 아버지께 더욱 복종하여 살려 하지 않겠느냐
  Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!

10. 저희는 잠시 자기의 뜻대로 우리를 징계하였거니와 오직 하나님은 우리의 유익을 위하여 그의 거룩하심에 참예케 하시느니라
  Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.

11. 무릇 징계가 당시에는 즐거워 보이지 않고 슬퍼 보이나 후에 그로 말미암아 연달한 자에게는 의의 평강한 열매를 맺나니
  No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12. 그러므로 피곤한 손과 연약한 무릎을 일으켜 세우고
  Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

13. 너희 발을 위하여 곧은 길을 만들어 저는 다리로 하여금 어그러지지 않고 고침을 받게 하라
  "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

14. 모든 사람으로 더불어 화평함과 거룩함을 좇으라 이것이 없이는 아무도 주를 보지 못하리라
  Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

15. 너희는 돌아보아 하나님 은혜에 이르지 못하는 자가 있는가 두려워하고 또 쓴 뿌리가 나서 괴롭게 하고 많은 사람이 이로 말미암아 더러움을 입을까 두려워하고
  See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

16. 음행하는 자와 혹 한 그릇 식물을 위하여 장자의 명분을 판 에서와 같이 망령된 자가 있을까 두려워하라
  See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.

17. 너희의 아는 바와 같이 저가 그 후에 축복을 기업으로 받으려고 눈물을 흘리며 구하되 버린 바가 되어 회개할 기회를 얻지 못하였느니라
  Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.

18. 너희의 이른 곳은 만질 만한 불붙는 산과 흑운과 흑암과 폭풍과
  You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;

19. 나팔 소리와 말하는 소리가 아니라 그 소리를 듣는 자들은 더 말씀하지 아니하시기를 구하였으니
  to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,

20. 이는 짐승이라도 산에 이르거든 돌로 침을 당하리라 하신 명을 저희가 견디지 못함이라
  because they could not bear what was commanded: "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned."

21. 그 보이는 바가 이렇듯이 무섭기로 모세도 이르되 내가 심히 두렵고 떨린다 하였으나
  The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear."

22. 그러나 너희가 이른 곳은 시온 산과 살아 계신 하나님의 도성인 하늘의 예루살렘과 천만 천사와
  But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

23. 하늘에 기록한 장자들의 총회와 교회와 만민의 심판자이신 하나님과 및 온전케 된 의인의 영들과
  to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,

24. 새 언약의 중보이신 예수와 및 아벨의 피보다 더 낫게 말하는 뿌린 피니라
  to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

25. 너희는 삼가 말하신 자를 거역하지 말라 땅에서 경고하신 자를 거역한 저희가 피하지 못하였거든 하물며 하늘로 좇아 경고하신 자를 배반하는 우리일까 보냐
  See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?

26. 그 때에는 그 소리가 땅을 진동하였거니와 이제는 약속하여 가라사대 내가 또 한번 땅만 아니라 하늘도 진동하리라 하셨느니라
  At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens."

27. 이 또 한번이라 하심은 진동치 아니하는 것을 영존케 하기 위하여 진동할 것들 곧 만든 것들의 변동될 것을 나타내심이니라
  The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is, created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

28. 그러므로 우리가 진동치 못할 나라를 받았은즉 은혜를 받자 이로 말미암아 경건함과 두려움으로 하나님을 기쁘시게 섬길찌니
  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

29. 우리 하나님은 소멸하는 불이심이니라
  for our "God is a consuming fire."

아모스 6

1. 화 있을찐저 시온에서 안일한 자와 사마리아 산에서 마음이 든든한 자 곧 열국 중 우승하여 유명하므로 이스라엘 족속이 따르는 자들이여
  Woe to you who are complacent in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria, you notable men of the foremost nation, to whom the people of Israel come!

2. 너희는 갈레에 건너가고 거기서 대 하맛으로 가고 또 블레셋 사람의 가드로 내려가 보라 그 곳들이 이 나라들보다 나으냐 그 토지가 너희 토지보다 넓으냐
  Go to Calneh and look at it; go from there to great Hamath, and then go down to Gath in Philistia. Are they better off than your two kingdoms? Is their land larger than yours?

3. 너희는 흉한 날이 멀다 하여 강포한 자리로 가까와지게 하고
  You put off the evil day and bring near a reign of terror.

4. 상아 상에 누우며 침상에서 기지개 켜며 양 떼에서 어린 양과 우리에서 송아지를 취하여 먹고
  You lie on beds inlaid with ivory and lounge on your couches. You dine on choice lambs and fattened calves.

5. 비파에 맞추어 헛된 노래를 지절거리며 다윗처럼 자기를 위하여 악기를 제조하며
  You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.

6. 대접으로 포도주를 마시며 귀한 기름을 몸에 바르면서 요셉의 환난을 인하여는 근심치 아니하는 자로다
  You drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest lotions, but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph.

7. 그러므로 저희가 이제는 사로잡히는 자 중에 앞서 사로잡히리니 기지개 켜는 자의 떠드는 소리가 그치리라
  Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile; your feasting and lounging will end.

8. 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 가라사대 주 여호와가 자기를 가리켜 맹세하였노라 내가 야곱의 영광을 싫어하며 그 궁궐들을 미워하므로 이 성읍과 거기 가득한 것을 대적에게 붙이리라 하셨느니라
  The Sovereign LORD has sworn by himself--the LORD God Almighty declares: "I abhor the pride of Jacob and detest his fortresses; I will deliver up the city and everything in it."

9. 한 집에 열 사람이 남는다 하여도 다 죽을 것이라
  If ten men are left in one house, they too will die.

10. 죽은 사람의 친척 곧 그 시체를 불사를 자가 그 뼈를 집 밖으로 가져갈 때에 그 집 내실에 있는 자에게 묻기를 아직 너와 함께한 자가 있느냐 하여 대답하기를 아주 없다 하면 저가 또 말하기를 잠잠하라 우리가 여호와의 이름을 일컫지 못할 것이라 하리라
  And if a relative who is to burn the bodies comes to carry them out of the house and asks anyone still hiding there, "Is anyone with you?" and he says, "No," then he will say, "Hush! We must not mention the name of the LORD."

11. 보라 여호와께서 명하시므로 큰 집이 침을 받아 갈라지며 작은 집이 침을 받아 터지리라
  For the LORD has given the command, and he will smash the great house into pieces and the small house into bits.

12. 말들이 어찌 바위 위에서 달리겠으며 소가 어찌 거기 밭 갈겠느냐 그런데 너희는 공법을 쓸개로 변하며 정의의 열매를 인진으로 변하며
  Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness--

13. 허무한 것을 기뻐하며 이르기를 우리의 뿔은 우리 힘으로 취하지 아니하였느냐 하는 자로다
  you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say, "Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?"

14. 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘 족속아 내가 한 나라를 일으켜 너희를 치리니 저희가 하맛 어귀에서부터 아라바 시내까지 너희를 학대하리라 하셨느니라
  For the LORD God Almighty declares, "I will stir up a nation against you, O house of Israel, that will oppress you all the way from Lebo Hamath to the valley of the Arabah."

누가복음 1:39-80

39. 이 때에 마리아가 일어나 빨리 산중에 가서 유대 한 동네에 이르러
  At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea,

40. 사가랴의 집에 들어가 엘리사벳에게 문안하니
  where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth.

41. 엘리사벳이 마리아의 문안함을 들으매 아이가 복중에서 뛰노는지라 엘리사벳이 성령의 충만함을 입어
  When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

42. 큰 소리로 불러 가로되 여자 중에 네가 복이 있으며 네 태중의 아이도 복이 있도다
  In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

43. 내 주의 모친이 내게 나아오니 이 어찌 된 일인고
  But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44. 보라 네 문안하는 소리가 내 귀에 들릴 때에 아이가 내 복중에서 기쁨으로 뛰놀았도다
  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

45. 믿은 여자에게 복이 있도다 주께서 그에게 하신 말씀이 반드시 이루리라
  Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"

46. 마리아가 가로되 내 영혼이 주를 찬양하며
  And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord

47. 내 마음이 하나님 내 구주를 기뻐하였음은
  and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

48. 그 계집종의 비천함을 돌아보셨음이라 보라 이제 후로는 만세에 나를 복이 있다 일컬으리로다
  for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,

49. 능하신 이가 큰 일을 내게 행하셨으니 그 이름이 거룩하시며
  for the Mighty One has done great things for me--holy is his name.

50. 긍휼하심이 두려워하는 자에게 대대로 이르는도다
  His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

51. 그의 팔로 힘을 보이사 마음의 생각이 교만한 자들을 흩으셨고
  He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

52. 권세 있는 자를 그 위에서 내리치셨으며 비천한 자를 높이셨고
  He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

53. 주리는 자를 좋은 것으로 배불리셨으며 부자를 공수로 보내셨도다
  He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

54. 그 종 이스라엘을 도우사 긍휼히 여기시고 기억하시되
  He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful

55. 우리 조상에게 말씀하신 것과 같이 아브라함과 및 그 자손에게 영원히 하시리로다 하니라
  to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers."

56. 마리아가 석 달쯤 함께 있다가 집으로 돌아가니라
  Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

57. 엘리사벳이 해산할 기한이 차서 아들을 낳으니
  When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.

58. 이웃과 친족이 주께서 저를 크게 긍휼히 여기심을 듣고 함께 즐거워하더라
  Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy.

59. 팔 일이 되매 아이를 할례하러 와서 그 부친의 이름을 따라 사가랴라 하고자 하더니
  On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah,

60. 그 모친이 대답하여 가로되 아니라 요한이라 할 것이라 하매
  but his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John."

61. 저희가 가로되 네 친족 중에 이 이름으로 이름한 이가 없다 하고
  They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name."

62. 그 부친께 형용하여 무엇으로 이름하려 하는가 물으니
  Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child.

63. 저가 서판을 달라 하여 그 이름은 요한이라 쓰매 다 기이히 여기더라
  He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John."

64. 이에 그 입이 곧 열리고 혀가 풀리며 말을 하여 하나님을 찬송하니
  Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God.

65. 그 근처에 사는 자가 다 두려워하고 이 모든 말이 온 유대 산중에 두루 퍼지매
  The neighbors were all filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things.

66. 듣는 사람이 다 이 말을 마음에 두며 가로되 이 아이가 장차 어찌 될꼬 하니 이는 주의 손이 저와 함께 하심이러라
  Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, "What then is this child going to be?" For the Lord's hand was with him.

67. 그 부친 사가랴가 성령의 충만함을 입어 예언하여 가로되
  His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:

68. 찬송하리로다 주 이스라엘의 하나님이여 그 백성을 돌아보사 속량하시며
  "Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.

69. 우리를 위하여 구원의 뿔을 그 종 다윗의 집에 일으키셨으니
  He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David

70. 이것은 주께서 예로부터 거룩한 선지자의 입으로 말씀하신 바와 같이
  (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),

71. 우리 원수에게서와 우리를 미워하는 모든 자의 손에서 구원하시는 구원이라
  salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us--

72. 우리 조상을 긍휼히 여기시며 그 거룩한 언약을 기억하셨으니
  to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,

73. 곧 우리 조상 아브라함에게 맹세하신 맹세라
  the oath he swore to our father Abraham:

74. 우리로 원수의 손에서 건지심을 입고
  to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear

75. 종신토록 주의 앞에서 성결과 의로 두려움이 없이 섬기게 하리라 하셨도다
  in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

76. 이 아이여 네가 지극히 높으신 이의 선지자라 일컬음을 받고 주 앞에 앞서 가서 그 길을 예비하여
  And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,

77. 주의 백성에게 그 죄 사함으로 말미암는 구원을 알게 하리니
  to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

78. 이는 우리 하나님의 긍휼을 인함이라 이로써 돋는 해가 위로부터 우리에게 임하여
  because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

79. 어두움과 죽음의 그늘에 앉은 자에게 비취고 우리 발을 평강의 길로 인도하시리로다 하니라
  to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."

80. 아이가 자라며 심령이 강하여지며 이스라엘에게 나타나는 날까지 빈 들에 있으니라
  And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he lived in the desert until he appeared publicly to Israel.
