1. 잇사갈의 아들들은 돌라와 부아와 야숩과 시므론 네 사람이며
The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron--four in all.
2. 돌라의 아들들은 웃시와 르바야와 여리엘과 야매와 입삼과 스므엘이니 다 그 아비 돌라의 집 족장이라 대대로 용사더니 다윗 때에 이르러는 그 수효가 이만 이천육백 명이었더라
The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam and Samuel--heads of their families. During the reign of David, the descendants of Tola listed as fighting men in their genealogy numbered 22,600.
3. 웃시의 아들은 이스라히야요 이스라히야의 아들들은 미가엘과 오바댜와 요엘과 잇시야 다섯 사람이 모두 족장이며
The son of Uzzi: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel and Isshiah. All five of them were chiefs.
4. 저희와 함께한 자는 그 보계와 종족대로 능히 출전할 만한 군대가 삼만 육천 인이니 이는 그 처자가 많은 연고며
According to their family genealogy, they had 36,000 men ready for battle, for they had many wives and children.
5. 그 형제 잇사갈의 모든 종족은 다 큰 용사라 그 보계대로 계수하면 팔만 칠천 인이었더라
The relatives who were fighting men belonging to all the clans of Issachar, as listed in their genealogy, were 87,000 in all.
6. 베냐민의 아들들은 벨라와 베겔과 여디아엘 세 사람이며
Three sons of Benjamin: Bela, Beker and Jediael.
7. 벨라의 아들들은 에스본과 우시와 웃시엘과 여리못과 이리 다섯 사람이니 다 그 집의 족장이요 큰 용사라 그 보계대로 계수하면 이만 이천삼십사 인이며
The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth and Iri, heads of families--five in all. Their genealogical record listed 22,034 fighting men.
8. 베겔의 아들들은 스미라와 요아스와 엘리에셀과 엘료에내와 오므리와 여레못과 아비야와 아나돗과 알레멧이니 베겔의 아들들은 이러하며
The sons of Beker: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth and Alemeth. All these were the sons of Beker.
9. 저희는 다 그 집의 족장이요 큰 용사라 그 자손을 보계대로 계수하면 이만 이백 인이며
Their genealogical record listed the heads of families and 20,200 fighting men.
10. 여디아엘의 아들은 빌한이요 빌한의 아들들은 여우스와 베냐민과 에훗과 그나아나와 세단과 다시스와 아히사할이니
The son of Jediael: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish and Ahishahar.
11. 이 여디아엘의 아들들은 그 집의 족장이요 큰 용사라 그 자손 중에 능히 출전할 만한 자가 일만 칠천이백 인이며
All these sons of Jediael were heads of families. There were 17,200 fighting men ready to go out to war.
12. 일의 아들은 숩빔과 훕빔이요 아헬의 아들은 후심이더라
The Shuppites and Huppites were the descendants of Ir, and the Hushites the descendants of Aher.
13. 납달리의 아들들은 야시엘과 구니와 예셀과 살룸이니 이는 빌하의 손자더라
The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer and Shillem--the descendants of Bilhah.
14. 므낫세의 아들들 그 처의 소생은 아스리엘이요 그 첩 아람 여인의 소생은 길르앗의 아비 마길이니
The descendants of Manasseh: Asriel was his descendant through his Aramean concubine. She gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead.
15. 마길은 훕빔과 숩빔의 누이 마아가라 하는 이에게 장가들었더라 므낫세의 둘째 아들의 이름은 슬로브핫이니 슬로브핫은 딸들만 낳았으며
Makir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. His sister's name was Maacah. Another descendant was named Zelophehad, who had only daughters.
16. 마길의 아내 마아가는 아들을 낳아 그 이름을 베레스라 하였으며 그 아우는 이름이 세레스며 세레스의 아들은 울람과 라겜이요
Makir's wife Maacah gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17. 울람의 아들은 브단이니 이는 다 길르앗의 자손이라 길르앗은 마길의 아들이요 므낫세의 손자며
The son of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead son of Makir, the son of Manasseh.
18. 그 누이 함몰레겟은 이스홋과 아비에셀과 말라를 낳았고
His sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer and Mahlah.
19. 스미다의 아들은 아히안과 세겜과 릭히와 아니암이더라
The sons of Shemida were: Ahian, Shechem, Likhi and Aniam.
20. 에브라임의 아들은 수델라요 그 아들은 베렛이요 그 아들은 다핫이요 그 아들은 엘르아다요 그 아들은 다핫이요
The descendants of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son,
21. 그 아들은 사밧이요 그 아들은 수델라며 저가 또 에셀과 엘르앗을 낳았더니 저희가 가드 토인에게 죽임을 당하였으니 이는 저희가 내려가서 가드 사람의 짐승을 빼앗고자 하였음이라
Zabad his son and Shuthelah his son. Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock.
22. 그 아비 에브라임이 위하여 여러 날 슬퍼하므로 그 형제가 와서 위로하였더라
Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.
23. 그 후에 에브라임이 그 아내와 동침하였더니 아내가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으니 그 집이 재앙을 받았으므로 그 이름을 브리아라 하였더라
Then he lay with his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his family.
24. 에브라임의 딸은 세에라니 저가 아래 윗 벧호론과 우센세에라를 세웠더라
His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon as well as Uzzen Sheerah.
25. 브리아의 아들들은 레바와 레셉이요 레셉의 아들은 델라요 그 아들은 다한이요
Rephah was his son, Resheph his son, Telah his son, Tahan his son,
26. 그 아들은 라단이요 그 아들은 암미훗이요 그 아들은 엘리사마요
Ladan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son,
27. 그 아들은 눈이요 그 아들은 여호수아더라
Nun his son and Joshua his son.
28. 에브라임 자손의 산업과 거처는 벧엘과 그 향리요 동에는 나아란이요 서에는 게셀과 그 향리며 또 세겜과 그 향리니 아사와 그 향리까지며
Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its surrounding villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages all the way to Ayyah and its villages.
29. 또 므낫세 자손의 지경에 가까운 벧스안과 그 향리와 다아낙과 그 향리와 므깃도와 그 향리와 돌과 그 향리라 이스라엘의 아들 요셉의 자손이 이 여러 곳에 거하였더라
Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shan, Taanach, Megiddo and Dor, together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.
30. 아셀의 아들들은 임나와 이스와와 이스위와 브리아요 저희의 매제는 세라며
The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31. 브리아의 아들들은 헤벨과 말기엘이니 말기엘은 비르사잇의 아비며
The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.
32. 헤벨은 야블렛과 소멜과 호담과 저희의 매제 수아를 낳았으며
Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer and Hotham and of their sister Shua.
33. 야블렛의 아들들은 바삭과 빔할과 아스왓이니 야블렛의 아들은 이러하며
The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal and Ashvath. These were Japhlet's sons.
34. 소멜의 아들들은 아히와 로가와 호바와 아람이요
The sons of Shomer: Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah and Aram.
35. 그 아우 헬렘의 아들들은 소바와 임나와 셀레스와 아말이요
The sons of his brother Helem: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh and Amal.
36. 소바의 아들들은 수아와 하르네벨과 수알과 베리와 이므라와
The sons of Zophah: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37. 베셀과 홋과 사마와 실사와 이드란과 브에라요
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran and Beera.
38. 예델의 아들들은 여분네와 비스바와 아라요
The sons of Jether: Jephunneh, Pispah and Ara.
39. 울라의 아들들은 아라와 한니엘과 리시아니
The sons of Ulla: Arah, Hanniel and Rizia.
40. 이는 다 아셀의 자손으로 족장이요 뽑힌 큰 용사요 방백의 두목이라 출전할 만한 자를 그 보계대로 계수하면 이만 육천 인이었더라
All these were descendants of Asher--heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy, was 26,000.
1. 베냐민의 낳은 자는 맏아들 벨라와 둘째 아스벨과 세째 아하라와
Benjamin was the father of Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third,
2. 네째 노하와 다섯째 라바며
Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.
3. 벨라에게 아들들이 있으니 곧 앗달과 게라와 아비훗과
The sons of Bela were: Addar, Gera, Abihud,
4. 아비수아와 나아만과 아호아와
Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,
5. 게라와 스부반과 후람이며
Gera, Shephuphan and Huram.
6. 에훗의 아들들은 이러하니라 저희는 게바 거민의 족장으로서 사로잡아 마나핫으로 가되
These were the descendants of Ehud, who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:
7. 곧 나아만과 아히야와 게라를 사로잡아 갔고 그가 또 웃사와 아히훗을 낳았으며
Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera, who deported them and who was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.
8. 사하라임은 두 아내 후심과 바아라를 내어 보낸 후에 모압 땅에서 자녀를 낳았으니
Sons were born to Shaharaim in Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara.
9. 그 아내 호데스에게서 낳은 자는 요밥과 시비야와 메사와 말감과
By his wife Hodesh he had Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam,
10. 여우스와 사갸와 미르마라 이 아들들은 족장이며
Jeuz, Sakia and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of families.
11. 또 그 아내 후심에게서 아비둡과 엘바알을 낳았으며
By Hushim he had Abitub and Elpaal.
12. 엘바알의 아들들은 에벨과 미삼과 세멧이니 저는 오노와 롯과 그 향리를 세웠고
The sons of Elpaal: Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono and Lod with its surrounding villages),
13. 또 브리아와 세마니 저희는 아얄론 거민의 족장이 되어 가드 거민을 쫓아내었더라
and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of families of those living in Aijalon and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath.
14. 아히요와 사삭과 여레못과
Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth,
15. 스바댜와 아랏과 에델과
Zebadiah, Arad, Eder,
16. 미가엘과 이스바와 요하는 다 브리아의 아들들이요
Michael, Ishpah and Joha were the sons of Beriah.
17. 스바댜와 므술람과 히스기와 헤벨과
Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber,
18. 이스므래와 이슬리아와 요밥은 다 엘바알의 아들들이요
Ishmerai, Izliah and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal.
19. 야김과 시그리와 삽디와
Jakim, Zicri, Zabdi,
20. 엘리에내와 실르대와 엘리엘과
Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel,
21. 아다야와 브라야와 시므랏은 다 시므이의 아들들이요
Adaiah, Beraiah and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei.
22. 이스반과 에벨과 엘리엘과
Ishpan, Eber, Eliel,
23. 압돈과 시그리와 하난과
Abdon, Zicri, Hanan,
24. 하나냐와 엘람과 안도디야와
Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah,
25. 이브드야와 브누엘은 다 사삭의 아들들이요
Iphdeiah and Penuel were the sons of Shashak.
26. 삼스래와 스하랴와 아달랴와
Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah,
27. 야아레시야와 엘리야와 시그리는 다 여로함의 아들들이니
Jaareshiah, Elijah and Zicri were the sons of Jeroham.
28. 이는 다 족장이요 대대로 두목이라 예루살렘에 거하였더라
All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.
29. 기브온의 조상 여이엘은 기브온에 거하였으니 그 아내의 이름은 마아가며
Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah,
30. 장자는 압돈이요 다음은 술과 기스와 바알과 나답과
and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
31. 그돌과 아히오와 세겔이며
Gedor, Ahio, Zeker
32. 미글롯은 시므아를 낳았으며 이 무리가 그 형제로 더불어 서로 대하여 예루살렘에 거하였더라
and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.
33. 넬은 기스를 낳았고 기스는 사울을 낳았고 사울은 요나단과 말기수아와 아비나답과 에스바알을 낳았으며
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish the father of Saul, and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.
34. 요나단의 아들은 므립바알이라 므립바알이 미가를 낳았고
The son of Jonathan: Merib-Baal, who was the father of Micah.
35. 미가의 아들들은 비돈과 멜렉과 다레아와 아하스며
The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tarea and Ahaz.
36. 아하스는 여호앗다를 낳았고 여호앗다는 알레멧과 아스마웻과 시므리를 낳았고 시므리는 모사를 낳았고
Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza.
37. 모사는 비느아를 낳았으며 비느아의 아들은 라바요 그 아들은 엘르아사요 그 아들은 아셀이며
Moza was the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.
38. 아셀에게 여섯 아들이 있어 그 이름이 이러하니 아스리감과 보그루와 이스마엘과 스아랴와 오바댜와 하난이라 아셀의 모든 아들이 이러하며
Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.
39. 그 아우 에섹의 아들은 이러하니 그 장자는 울람이요 둘째는 여우스요 세째는 엘리벨렛이며
The sons of his brother Eshek: Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second son and Eliphelet the third.
40. 울람의 아들은 다 큰 용사요 활을 잘 쏘는 자라 아들과 손자가 많아 모두 일백오십 인이었더라 베냐민의 자손들은 이러하였더라
The sons of Ulam were brave warriors who could handle the bow. They had many sons and grandsons--150 in all. All these were the descendants of Benjamin.
히브리서 11
1. 믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보지 못하는 것들의 증거니
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
2. 선진들이 이로써 증거를 얻었느니라
This is what the ancients were commended for.
3. 믿음으로 모든 세계가 하나님의 말씀으로 지어진 줄을 우리가 아나니 보이는 것은 나타난 것으로 말미암아 된 것이 아니니라
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
4. 믿음으로 아벨은 가인보다 더 나은 제사를 하나님께 드림으로 의로운 자라 하시는 증거를 얻었으니 하나님이 그 예물에 대하여 증거하심이라 저가 죽었으나 그 믿음으로써 오히려 말하느니라
By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.
5. 믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 옮기웠으니 하나님이 저를 옮기심으로 다시 보이지 아니하니라 저는 옮기우기 전에 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 자라 하는 증거를 받았느니라
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
6. 믿음이 없이는 기쁘시게 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할찌니라
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
7. 믿음으로 노아는 아직 보지 못하는 일에 경고하심을 받아 경외함으로 방주를 예비하여 그 집을 구원하였으니 이로 말미암아 세상을 정죄하고 믿음을 좇는 의의 후사가 되었느니라
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
8. 믿음으로 아브라함은 부르심을 받았을 때에 순종하여 장래 기업으로 받을 땅에 나갈쌔 갈 바를 알지 못하고 나갔으며
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
9. 믿음으로 저가 외방에 있는 것같이 약속하신 땅에 우거하여 동일한 약속을 유업으로 함께 받은 이삭과 야곱으로 더불어 장막에 거하였으니
By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.
10. 이는 하나님의 경영하시고 지으실 터가 있는 성을 바랐음이니라
For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
11. 믿음으로 사라 자신도 나이 늙어 단산하였으나 잉태하는 힘을 얻었으니 이는 약속하신 이를 미쁘신 줄 앎이라
By faith Abraham, even though he was past age--and Sarah herself was barren--was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise.
12. 이러므로 죽은 자와 방불한 한 사람으로 말미암아 하늘에 허다한 별과 또 해변의 무수한 모래와 같이 많이 생육하였느니라
And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
13. 이 사람들은 다 믿음을 따라 죽었으며 약속을 받지 못하였으되 그것들을 멀리서 보고 환영하며 또 땅에서는 외국인과 나그네로라 증거하였으니
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
14. 이같이 말하는 자들은 본향 찾는 것을 나타냄이라
People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.
15. 저희가 나온 바 본향을 생각하였더면 돌아갈 기회가 있었으려니와
If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.
16. 저희가 이제는 더 나은 본향을 사모하니 곧 하늘에 있는 것이라 그러므로 하나님이 저희 하나님이라 일컬음 받으심을 부끄러워 아니하시고 저희를 위하여 한 성을 예비하셨느니라
Instead, they were longing for a better country--a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
17. 아브라함은 시험을 받을 때에 믿음으로 이삭을 드렸으니 저는 약속을 받은 자로되 그 독생자를 드렸느니라
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,
18. 저에게 이미 말씀하시기를 네 자손이라 칭할 자는 이삭으로 말미암으리라 하셨으니
even though God had said to him, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."
19. 저가 하나님이 능히 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리실 줄로 생각한지라 비유컨대 죽은 자 가운데서 도로 받은 것이니라
Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.
20. 믿음으로 이삭은 장차 오는 일에 대하여 야곱과 에서에게 축복하였으며
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.
21. 믿음으로 야곱은 죽을 때에 요셉의 각 아들에게 축복하고 그 지팡이 머리에 의지하여 경배하였으며
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
22. 믿음으로 요셉은 임종시에 이스라엘 자손들의 떠날 것을 말하고 또 자기 해골을 위하여 명하였으며
By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones.
23. 믿음으로 모세가 났을 때에 그 부모가 아름다운 아이임을 보고 석 달 동안 숨겨 임금의 명령을 무서워 아니하였으며
By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict.
24. 믿음으로 모세는 장성하여 바로의 공주의 아들이라 칭함을 거절하고
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
25. 도리어 하나님의 백성과 함께 고난받기를 잠시 죄악의 낙을 누리는 것보다 더 좋아하고
He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.
26. 그리스도를 위하여 받는 능욕을 애굽의 모든 보화보다 더 큰 재물로 여겼으니 이는 상주심을 바라봄이라
He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.
27. 믿음으로 애굽을 떠나 임금의 노함을 무서워 아니하고 곧 보이지 아니하는 자를 보는 것같이 하여 참았으며
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
28. 믿음으로 유월절과 피 뿌리는 예를 정하였으니 이는 장자를 멸하는 자로 저희를 건드리지 않게 하려 한 것이며
By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.
29. 믿음으로 저희가 홍해를 육지같이 건넜으나 애굽 사람들은 이것을 시험하다가 빠져 죽었으며
By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
30. 믿음으로 칠 일 동안 여리고를 두루 다니매 성이 무너졌으며
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days.
31. 믿음으로 기생 라합은 정탐군을 평안히 영접하였으므로 순종치 아니한 자와 함께 멸망치 아니하였도다
By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
32. 내가 무슨 말을 더 하리요 기드온, 바락, 삼손, 입다와 다윗과 사무엘과 및 선지자들의 일을 말하려면 내게 시간이 부족하리로다
And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets,
33. 저희가 믿음으로 나라들을 이기기도 하며 의를 행하기도 하며 약속을 받기도 하며 사자들의 입을 막기도 하며
who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,
34. 불의 세력을 멸하기도 하며 칼날을 피하기도 하며 연약한 가운데서 강하게 되기도 하며 전쟁에 용맹되어 이방 사람들의 진을 물리치기도 하며
quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.
35. 여자들은 자기의 죽은 자를 부활로 받기도 하며 또 어떤 이들은 더 좋은 부활을 얻고자 하여 악형을 받되 구차히 면하지 아니하였으며
Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.
36. 또 어떤 이들은 희롱과 채찍질뿐 아니라 결박과 옥에 갇히는 시험도 받았으며
Some faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison.
37. 돌로 치는 것과 톱으로 켜는 것과 시험과 칼에 죽는 것을 당하고 양과 염소의 가죽을 입고 유리하여 궁핍과 환난과 학대를 받았으니
They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated--
38. (이런 사람은 세상이 감당치 못하도다) 저희가 광야와 산중과 암혈과 토굴에 유리하였느니라
the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.
39. 이 사람들이 다 믿음으로 말미암아 증거를 받았으나 약속을 받지 못하였으니
These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.
40. 이는 하나님이 우리를 위하여 더 좋은 것을 예비하셨은즉 우리가 아니면 저희로 온전함을 이루지 못하게 하려 하심이니라
God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

1. 이스라엘 족속아 내가 너희에게 대하여 애가로 지은 이 말을 들으라
Hear this word, O house of Israel, this lament I take up concerning you:
2. 처녀 이스라엘이 엎드러졌음이여 다시 일어나지 못하리로다 자기 땅에 던지움이여 일으킬 자 없으리로다
"Fallen is Virgin Israel, never to rise again, deserted in her own land, with no one to lift her up."
3. 주 여호와께서 가라사대 이스라엘 중에서 천 명이 나가던 성읍에는 백 명만 남고 백 명이 나가던 성읍에는 열 명만 남으리라 하셨느니라
This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "The city that marches out a thousand strong for Israel will have only a hundred left; the town that marches out a hundred strong will have only ten left."
4. 여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 이르시기를 너희는 나를 찾으라 그리하면 살리라
This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: "Seek me and live;
5. 벧엘을 찾지 말며 길갈로 들어가지 말며 브엘세바로도 나아가지 말라 길갈은 정녕 사로잡히겠고 벧엘은 허무하게 될 것임이라 하셨나니
do not seek Bethel, do not go to Gilgal, do not journey to Beersheba. For Gilgal will surely go into exile, and Bethel will be reduced to nothing."
6. 너희는 여호와를 찾으라 그리하면 살리라 염려컨대 저가 불같이 요셉의 집에 내리사 멸하시리니 벧엘에서 그 불들을 끌 자가 없을까 하노라
Seek the LORD and live, or he will sweep through the house of Joseph like a fire; it will devour, and Bethel will have no one to quench it.
7. 공법을 인진으로 변하며 정의를 땅에 던지는 자들아
You who turn justice into bitterness and cast righteousness to the ground
8. 묘성과 삼성을 만드시며 사망의 그늘로 아침이 되게 하시며 백주로 어두운 밤이 되게 하시며 바닷물을 불러 지면에 쏟으시는 자를 찾으라 그 이름이 여호와시니라
(he who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns blackness into dawn and darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land--the LORD is his name--
9. 저가 강한 자에게 홀연히 패망이 임하게 하신즉 그 패망이 산성에 미치느니라
he flashes destruction on the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin),
10. 무리가 성문에서 책망하는 자를 미워하며 정직히 말하는 자를 싫어하는도다
you hate the one who reproves in court and despise him who tells the truth.
11. 너희가 가난한 자를 밟고 저에게서 밀의 부당한 세를 취하였은즉 너희가 비록 다듬은 돌로 집을 건축하였으나 거기 거하지 못할 것이요 아름다운 포도원을 심었으나 그 포도주를 마시지 못하리라
You trample on the poor and force him to give you grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine.
12. 너희의 허물이 많고 죄악이 중함을 내가 아노라 너희는 의인을 학대하며 뇌물을 받고 성문에서 궁핍한 자를 억울하게 하는 자로다
For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. You oppress the righteous and take bribes and you deprive the poor of justice in the courts.
13. 그러므로 이런 때에 지혜자가 잠잠하나니 이는 악한 때임이니라
Therefore the prudent man keeps quiet in such times, for the times are evil.
14. 너희는 살기 위하여 선을 구하고 악을 구하지 말찌어다 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 너희의 말과 같이 너희와 함께하시리라
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.
15. 너희는 악을 미워하고 선을 사랑하며 성문에서 공의를 세울찌어다 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 혹시 요셉의 남은 자를 긍휼히 여기시리라
Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.
16. 그러므로 주 만군의 하나님 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 사람이 모든 광장에서 울겠고 모든 거리에서 오호라 오호라 하겠으며 농부를 불러다가 애곡하게 하며 울음군을 불러다가 울게 할 것이며
Therefore this is what the Lord, the LORD God Almighty, says: "There will be wailing in all the streets and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail.
17. 모든 포도원에서도 울리니 이는 내가 너희 가운데로 지나갈 것임이니라 이는 여호와의 말씀이니라
There will be wailing in all the vineyards, for I will pass through your midst," says the LORD.
18. 화 있을찐저 여호와의 날을 사모하는 자여 너희가 어찌하여 여호와의 날을 사모하느뇨 그 날은 어두움이요 빛이 아니라
Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light.
19. 마치 사람이 사자를 피하다가 곰을 만나거나 혹 집에 들어가서 손을 벽에 대었다가 뱀에게 물림 같도다
It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him.
20. 여호와의 날이 어찌 어두워서 빛이 없음이 아니며 캄캄하여 빛남이 없음이 아니냐
Will not the day of the LORD be darkness, not light--pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?
21. 내가 너희 절기를 미워하여 멸시하며 너희 성회들을 기뻐하지 아니하나니
"I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies.
22. 너희가 내게 번제나 소제를 드릴찌라도 내가 받지 아니할 것이요 너희 살진 희생의 화목제도 내가 돌아보지 아니하리라
Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them.
23. 네 노래 소리를 내 앞에서 그칠찌어다 네 비파 소리도 내가 듣지 아니하리라
Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
24. 오직 공법을 물 같이, 정의를 하수 같이 흘릴찌로다
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
25. 이스라엘 족속아 너희가 사십 년 동안 광야에서 희생과 소제물을 내게 드렸느냐
"Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the desert, O house of Israel?
26. 너희가 너희 왕 식굿과 너희 우상 기윤 곧 너희가 너희를 위하여 만들어서 신으로 삼은 별 형상을 지고 가리라
You have lifted up the shrine of your king, the pedestal of your idols, the star of your god--which you made for yourselves.
27. 내가 너희를 다메섹 밖으로 사로잡혀 가게 하리라 이는 만군의 하나님이라 일컫는 여호와의 말씀이니라
Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Damascus," says the LORD, whose name is God Almighty.
누가복음 1:1-38
1. 우리 중에 이루어진 사실에 대하여
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,
2. 처음부터 말씀의 목격자 되고 일군 된 자들의 전하여 준 그대로 내력을 저술하려고 붓을 든 사람이 많은지라
just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
3. 그 모든 일을 근원부터 자세히 미루어 살핀 나도 데오빌로 각하에게 차례대로 써 보내는 것이 좋은 줄 알았노니
Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
4. 이는 각하로 그 배운 바의 확실함을 알게 하려 함이로라
so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
5. 유대 왕 헤롯 때에 아비야 반열에 제사장 하나가 있으니 이름은 사가랴요 그 아내는 아론의 자손이니 이름은 엘리사벳이라
In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.
6. 이 두 사람이 하나님 앞에 의인이니 주의 모든 계명과 규례대로 흠이 없이 행하더라
Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly.
7. 엘리사벳이 수태를 못하므로 저희가 무자하고 두 사람의 나이 많더라
But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren; and they were both well along in years.
8. 마침 사가랴가 그 반열의 차례대로 제사장의 직무를 하나님 앞에 행할쌔
Once when Zechariah's division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
9. 제사장의 전례를 따라 제비를 뽑아 주의 성소에 들어가 분향하고
he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
10. 모든 백성은 그 분향하는 시간에 밖에서 기도하더니
And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.
11. 주의 사자가 저에게 나타나 향단 우편에 선지라
Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
12. 사가랴가 보고 놀라며 무서워하니
When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear.
13. 천사가 일러 가로되 사가랴여 무서워 말라 너의 간구함이 들린지라 네 아내 엘리사벳이 네게 아들을 낳아 주리니 그 이름을 요한이라 하라
But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
14. 너도 기뻐하고 즐거워할 것이요 많은 사람도 그의 남을 기뻐하리니
He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth,
15. 이는 저가 주 앞에 큰 자가 되며 포도주나 소주를 마시지 아니하며 모태로부터 성령의 충만함을 입어
for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.
16. 이스라엘 자손을 주 곧 저희 하나님께로 많이 돌아오게 하겠음이니라
Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God.
17. 저가 또 엘리야의 심령과 능력으로 주 앞에 앞서 가서 아비의 마음을 자식에게, 거스리는 자를 의인의 슬기에 돌아오게 하고 주를 위하여 세운 백성을 예비하리라
And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
18. 사가랴가 천사에게 이르되 내가 이것을 어떻게 알리요 내가 늙고 아내도 나이 많으니이다
Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years."
19. 천사가 대답하여 가로되 나는 하나님 앞에 섰는 가브리엘이라 이 좋은 소식을 전하여 네게 말하라고 보내심을 입었노라
The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.
20. 보라 이 일의 되는 날까지 네가 벙어리가 되어 능히 말을 못하리니 이는 내 말을 네가 믿지 아니함이어니와 때가 이르면 내 말이 이루리라 하더라
And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time."
21. 백성들이 사가랴를 기다리며 그의 성소 안에서 지체함을 기이히 여기더니
Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple.
22. 그가 나와서 저희에게 말을 못하니 백성들이 그 성소 안에서 이상을 본 줄 알았더라 그가 형용으로 뜻을 표시하며 그냥 벙어리대로 있더니
When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.
23. 그 직무의 날이 다 되매 집으로 돌아가니라
When his time of service was completed, he returned home.
24. 이 후에 그 아내 엘리사벳이 수태하고 다섯 달 동안 숨어 있으며 가로되
After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion.
25. 주께서 나를 돌아보시는 날에 인간에 내 부끄러움을 없게 하시려고 이렇게 행하심이라 하더라
"The Lord has done this for me," she said. "In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people."
26. 여섯째 달에 천사 가브리엘이 하나님의 보내심을 받들어 갈릴리 나사렛이란 동네에 가서
In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,
27. 다윗의 자손 요셉이라 하는 사람과 정혼한 처녀에게 이르니 그 처녀의 이름은 마리아라
to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
28. 그에게 들어가 가로되 은혜를 받은 자여 평안할찌어다 주께서 너와 함께하시도다 하니
The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."
29. 처녀가 그 말을 듣고 놀라 이런 인사가 어찌함인고 생각하매
Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30. 천사가 일러 가로되 마리아여 무서워 말라 네가 하나님께 은혜를 얻었느니라
But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
31. 보라 네가 수태하여 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 예수라 하라
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
32. 저가 큰 자가 되고 지극히 높으신 이의 아들이라 일컬을 것이요 주 하나님께서 그 조상 다윗의 위를 저에게 주시리니
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
33. 영원히 야곱의 집에 왕 노릇 하실 것이며 그 나라가 무궁하리라
and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
34. 마리아가 천사에게 말하되 나는 사내를 알지 못하니 어찌 이 일이 있으리이까
"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
35. 천사가 대답하여 가로되 성령이 네게 임하시고 지극히 높으신 이의 능력이 너를 덮으시리니 이러므로 나실 바 거룩한 자는 하나님의 아들이라 일컬으리라
The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
36. 보라 네 친족 엘리사벳도 늙어서 아들을 배었느니라 본래 수태하지 못한다 하던 이가 이미 여섯 달이 되었나니
Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
37. 대저 하나님의 모든 말씀은 능치 못하심이 없느니라
For nothing is impossible with God."
38. 마리아가 가로되 주의 계집종이오니 말씀대로 내게 이루어지이다 하매 천사가 떠나가니라
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.
