사사기 19

1. 이스라엘에 왕이 없을 그 때에 에브라임 산지 구석에 우거하는 어떤 레위 사람이 유다 베들레헴에서 첩을 취하였더니
  In those days Israel had no king. Now a Levite who lived in a remote area in the hill country of Ephraim took a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah.

2. 그 첩이 행음하고 남편을 떠나 유다 베들레헴 그 아비의 집에 돌아가서 거기서 넉 달의 날을 보내매
  But she was unfaithful to him. She left him and went back to her father's house in Bethlehem, Judah. After she had been there four months,

3. 그 남편이 그 여자에게 다정히 말하고 그를 데려오고자 하여 하인 하나와 나귀 두 필을 데리고 그에게로 가매 여자가 그를 인도하여 아비의 집에 들어가니 그 여자의 아비가 그를 보고 환영하니라
  her husband went to her to persuade her to return. He had with him his servant and two donkeys. She took him into her father's house, and when her father saw him, he gladly welcomed him.

4. 그 첩장인 곧 여자의 아비가 그를 머물리매 그가 삼 일을 그와 함께 거하며 먹고 마시며 거기서 유숙하다가
  His father-in-law, the girl's father, prevailed upon him to stay; so he remained with him three days, eating and drinking, and sleeping there.

5. 나흘 만에 일찌기 일어나 떠나고자 하매 여자의 아비가 그 사위에게 이르되 떡을 조금 먹어 그대의 기력을 도운 후에 그대의 길을 행하라
  On the fourth day they got up early and he prepared to leave, but the girl's father said to his son-in-law, "Refresh yourself with something to eat; then you can go."

6. 두 사람이 앉아서 함께 먹고 마시매 여자의 아비가 그 사람에게 이르되 청하노니 이 밤을 여기서 유숙하여 그대의 마음을 즐겁게 하라
  So the two of them sat down to eat and drink together. Afterward the girl's father said, "Please stay tonight and enjoy yourself."

7. 그 사람이 일어나서 가고자 하되 첩장인의 간청으로 다시 유숙하더니
  And when the man got up to go, his father-in-law persuaded him, so he stayed there that night.

8. 다섯째 날 아침에 일찌기 일어나 떠나고자 하매 여자의 아비가 이르되 청하노니 그대의 기력을 돕고 해가 기울도록 머물라 하므로 두 사람이 함께 먹고
  On the morning of the fifth day, when he rose to go, the girl's father said, "Refresh yourself. Wait till afternoon!" So the two of them ate together.

9. 그 사람이 첩과 하인으로 더불어 일어나 떠나고자 하매 그 첩장인 곧 여자의 아비가 그에게 이르되 보라 이제 해가 저물어가니 청컨대 이 밤도 유숙하라 보라 해가 기울었느니라 그대는 여기서 유숙하여 그대의 마음을 즐겁게 하고 내일 일찌기 그대의 길을 행하여 그대의 집으로 돌아가라
  Then when the man, with his concubine and his servant, got up to leave, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said, "Now look, it's almost evening. Spend the night here; the day is nearly over. Stay and enjoy yourself. Early tomorrow morning you can get up and be on your way home."

10. 그 사람이 다시 밤을 지내고자 아니하여 일어나 떠나서 여부스 맞은편에 이르렀으니 여부스는 곧 예루살렘이라 안장 지운 나귀 둘과 첩이 그와 함께 하였더라
  But, unwilling to stay another night, the man left and went toward Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), with his two saddled donkeys and his concubine.

11. 그들이 여부스에 가까왔을 때에 해가 지려 하는지라 종이 주인에게 이르되 청컨대 우리가 돌이켜 여부스 사람의 이 성읍에 들어가서 유숙하사이다
  When they were near Jebus and the day was almost gone, the servant said to his master, "Come, let's stop at this city of the Jebusites and spend the night."

12. 주인이 그에게 이르되 우리가 돌이켜 이스라엘 자손에게 속하지 아니한 외인의 성읍으로 들어갈 것이 아니니 기브아로 나아가리라 하고
  His master replied, "No. We won't go into an alien city, whose people are not Israelites. We will go on to Gibeah."

13. 또 그 종에게 이르되 우리가 기브아나 라마 중 한 곳에 나아가 거기서 유숙하자 하고
  He added, "Come, let's try to reach Gibeah or Ramah and spend the night in one of those places."

14. 모두 앞으로 행하더니 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 가까이 이르러는 해가 진지라
  So they went on, and the sun set as they neared Gibeah in Benjamin.

15. 기브아에 가서 유숙하려고 그리로 돌이켜 들어가서 성읍 거리에 앉았으나 그를 집으로 영접하여 유숙케 하는 자가 없었더라
  There they stopped to spend the night. They went and sat in the city square, but no one took them into his home for the night.

16. 이미 저물매 한 노인이 밭에서 일하다가 돌아오니 그 사람은 본래 에브라임 산지 사람으로서 기브아에 우거하는 자요 그 곳 사람들은 베냐민 사람이더라
  That evening an old man from the hill country of Ephraim, who was living in Gibeah (the men of the place were Benjamites), came in from his work in the fields.

17. 노인이 눈을 들어 성읍 거리에 행객이 있는 것을 본지라 노인이 묻되 그대는 어디로 가며 어디서 왔느뇨
  When he looked and saw the traveler in the city square, the old man asked, "Where are you going? Where did you come from?"

18. 그가 그에게 이르되 우리는 유다 베들레헴에서 에브라임 산지 구석으로 가나이다 나는 그 곳 사람으로서 유다 베들레헴에 갔다가 이제 여호와의 집으로 가는 중인데 나를 자기 집으로 영접하는 사람이 없나이다
  He answered, "We are on our way from Bethlehem in Judah to a remote area in the hill country of Ephraim where I live. I have been to Bethlehem in Judah and now I am going to the house of the LORD. No one has taken me into his house.

19. 우리에게는 나귀들에게 먹일 짚과 보리가 있고 나와 당신의 여종과 당신의 종 우리들과 함께한 소년의 먹을 양식과 포도주가 있어 무엇이든지 부족함이 없나이다
  We have both straw and fodder for our donkeys and bread and wine for ourselves your servants--me, your maidservant, and the young man with us. We don't need anything."

20. 노인이 가로되 그대는 안심하라 그대의 모든 쓸 것은 나의 담책이니 거리에서는 자지 말라 하고
  "You are welcome at my house," the old man said. "Let me supply whatever you need. Only don't spend the night in the square."

21. 그를 데리고 자기 집에 들어가서 나귀에게 먹이니 그들이 발을 씻고 먹고 마시니라
  So he took him into his house and fed his donkeys. After they had washed their feet, they had something to eat and drink.

22. 그들이 마음을 즐겁게 할 때에 그 성읍의 비류들이 그 집을 에워싸고 문을 두들기며 집주인 노인에게 말하여 가로되 네 집에 들어온 사람을 끌어내라 우리가 그를 상관하리라
  While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, "Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him."

23. 집주인 그 사람이 그들에게로 나와서 이르되 아니라 내 형제들아 청하노니 악을 행치 말라 이 사람이 내 집에 들었으니 이런 망령된 일을 행치 말라
  The owner of the house went outside and said to them, "No, my friends, don't be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don't do this disgraceful thing.

24. 보라 여기 내 처녀 딸과 이 사람의 첩이 있은즉 내가 그들을 끌어내리니 너희가 그들을 욕보이든지 어찌하든지 임의로 하되 오직 이 사람에게는 이런 망령된 일을 행치 말라 하나
  Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But to this man, don't do such a disgraceful thing."

25. 무리가 듣지 아니하므로 그 사람이 자기 첩을 무리에게로 붙들어 내매 그들이 그에게 행음하여 밤새도록 욕보이다가 새벽 미명에 놓은지라
  But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go.

26. 동틀 때에 여인이 그 주인의 우거한 그 사람의 집 문에 이르러 엎드러져 밝기까지 거기 누웠더라
  At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.

27. 그의 주인이 일찌기 일어나 집 문을 열고 떠나고자 하더니 그 여인이 집 문에 엎드러지고 그 두 손이 문지방에 있는 것을 보고
  When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold.

28. 그에게 이르되 일어나라 우리가 떠나가자 하나 아무 대답이 없는지라 이에 그 시체를 나귀에 싣고 행하여 자기 곳에 돌아가서
  He said to her, "Get up; let's go." But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.

29. 그 집에 이르러서는 칼을 취하여 첩의 시체를 붙들어 그 마디를 찍어 열두 덩이에 나누고 그것을 이스라엘 사방에 두루 보내매
  When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel.

30. 그것을 보는 자가 다 가로되 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 날부터 오늘날까지 이런 일은 행치도 아니하였고 보지도 못하였도다 생각하고 상의한 후에 말하자 하니라
  Everyone who saw it said, "Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Think about it! Consider it! Tell us what to do!"

사도행전 23

1. 바울이 공회를 주목하여 가로되 여러분 형제들아 오늘날까지 내가 범사에 양심을 따라 하나님을 섬겼노라 하거늘
  Paul looked straight at the Sanhedrin and said, "My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day."

2. 대제사장 아나니아가 바울 곁에 섰는 사람들에게 그 입을 치라 명하니
  At this the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near Paul to strike him on the mouth.

3. 바울이 가로되 회칠한 담이여 하나님이 너를 치시리로다 네가 나를 율법대로 판단한다고 앉아서 율법을 어기고 나를 치라 하느냐 하니
  Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate the law by commanding that I be struck!"

4. 곁에 선 사람들이 말하되 하나님의 대제사장을 네가 욕하느냐
  Those who were standing near Paul said, "You dare to insult God's high priest?"

5. 바울이 가로되 형제들아 나는 그가 대제사장인 줄 알지 못하였노라 기록하였으되 너의 백성의 관원을 비방치 말라 하였느니라 하더라
  Paul replied, "Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: 'Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.'"

6. 바울이 그 한 부분은 사두개인이요 한 부분은 바리새인인 줄 알고 공회에서 외쳐 가로되 여러분 형제들아 나는 바리새인이요 또 바리새인의 아들이라 죽은 자의 소망 곧 부활을 인하여 내가 심문을 받노라
  Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, "My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead."

7. 그 말을 한즉 바리새인과 사두개인 사이에 다툼이 생겨 무리가 나누이니
  When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

8. 이는 사두개인은 부활도 없고 천사도 없고 영도 없다 하고 바리새인은 다 있다 함이라
  (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.)

9. 크게 훤화가 일어날쌔 바리새인 편에서 몇 서기관이 일어나 다투어 가로되 우리가 이 사람을 보매 악한 것이 없도다 혹 영이나 혹 천사가 저더러 말하였으면 어찌 하겠느뇨 하여
  There was a great uproar, and some of the teachers of the law who were Pharisees stood up and argued vigorously. "We find nothing wrong with this man," they said. "What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"

10. 큰 분쟁이 생기니 천부장이 바울이 저희에게 찢겨질까 하여 군사를 명하여 내려가 무리 가운데서 빼앗아 가지고 영문으로 들어가라 하니라
  The dispute became so violent that the commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them. He ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force and bring him into the barracks.

11. 그 날 밤에 주께서 바울 곁에 서서 이르시되 담대하라 네가 예루살렘에서 나의 일을 증거한 것같이 로마에서도 증거하여야 하리라 하시니라
  The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, "Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome."

12. 날이 새매 유대인들이 당을 지어 맹세하되 바울을 죽이기 전에는 먹지도 아니하고 마시지도 아니하겠다 하고
  The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

13. 이같이 동맹한 자가 사십여 명이더라
  More than forty men were involved in this plot.

14. 대제사장들과 장로들에게 가서 말하되 우리가 바울을 죽이기 전에는 아무것도 먹지 않기로 굳게 맹세하였으니
  They went to the chief priests and elders and said, "We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.

15. 이제 너희는 그의 사실을 더 자세히 알아볼 양으로 공회와 함께 천부장에게 청하여 바울을 너희에게로 데리고 내려오게 하라 우리는 그가 가까이 오기 전에 죽이기로 준비하였노라 하더니
  Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here."

16. 바울의 생질이 그들이 매복하여 있다 함을 듣고 와서 영문에 들어가 바울에게 고한지라
  But when the son of Paul's sister heard of this plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul.

17. 바울이 한 백부장을 청하여 가로되 이 청년을 천부장에게로 인도하라 그에게 무슨 할 말이 있다 하니
  Then Paul called one of the centurions and said, "Take this young man to the commander; he has something to tell him."

18. 천부장에게로 데리고 가서 가로되 죄수 바울이 나를 불러 이 청년이 당신께 할 말이 있다 하여 데리고 가기를 청하더이다 하매
  So he took him to the commander. The centurion said, "Paul, the prisoner, sent for me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you."

19. 천부장이 그 손을 잡고 물러가서 종용히 묻되 내게 할 말이 무엇이냐
  The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, "What is it you want to tell me?"

20. 대답하되 유대인들이 공모하기를 저희들이 바울에 대하여 더 자세한 것을 묻기 위함이라 하고 내일 그를 데리고 공회로 내려오기를 당신께 청하자 하였으니
  He said: "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about him.

21. 당신은 저희 청함을 좇지 마옵소서 저희 중에서 바울을 죽이기 전에는 먹지도 않고 마시지도 않기로 맹세한 자 사십여 명이 그를 죽이려고 숨어서 지금 다 준비하고 당신의 허락만 기다리나이다 하매
  Don't give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request."

22. 이에 천부장이 청년을 보내며 경계하되 이 일을 내게 고하였다고 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하고
  The commander dismissed the young man and cautioned him, "Don't tell anyone that you have reported this to me."

23. 백부장 둘을 불러 이르되 밤 제 삼 시에 가이사랴까지 갈 보병 이백 명과 마병 칠십 명과 창군 이백 명을 준비하라 하고
  Then he called two of his centurions and ordered them, "Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight.

24. 또 바울을 태워 총독 벨릭스에게로 무사히 보내기 위하여 짐승을 준비하라 명하며
  Provide mounts for Paul so that he may be taken safely to Governor Felix."

25. 또 이 아래와 같이 편지하니 일렀으되
  He wrote a letter as follows:

26. 글라우디오 루시아는 총독 벨릭스 각하에게 문안하노이다
  Claudius Lysias, To His Excellency, Governor Felix: Greetings.

27. 이 사람이 유대인들에게 잡혀 죽게 된 것을 내가 로마 사람인 줄 들어 알고 군사를 거느리고 가서 구원하여다가
  This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him, but I came with my troops and rescued him, for I had learned that he is a Roman citizen.

28. 유대인들이 무슨 일로 그를 송사하는지 알고자 하여 저희 공회로 데리고 내려갔더니
  I wanted to know why they were accusing him, so I brought him to their Sanhedrin.

29. 송사하는 것이 저희 율법 문제에 관한 것뿐이요 한 가지도 죽이거나 결박할 사건이 없음을 발견하였나이다
  I found that the accusation had to do with questions about their law, but there was no charge against him that deserved death or imprisonment.

30. 그러나 이 사람을 해하려는 간계가 있다고 누가 내게 알게 하기로 곧 당신께로 보내며 또 송사하는 사람들도 당신 앞에서 그를 대하여 말하라 하였나이다 하였더라
  When I was informed of a plot to be carried out against the man, I sent him to you at once. I also ordered his accusers to present to you their case against him.

31. 보병이 명을 받은 대로 밤에 바울을 데리고 안디바드리에 이르러
  So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul with them during the night and brought him as far as Antipatris.

32. 이튿날 마병으로 바울을 호송하게 하고 영문으로 돌아가니라
  The next day they let the cavalry go on with him, while they returned to the barracks.

33. 저희가 가이사랴에 들어가서 편지를 총독에게 드리고 바울을 그 앞에 세우니
  When the cavalry arrived in Caesarea, they delivered the letter to the governor and handed Paul over to him.

34. 총독이 읽고 바울더러 어느 영지 사람이냐 물어 길리기아 사람인 줄 알고
  The governor read the letter and asked what province he was from. Learning that he was from Cilicia,

35. 가로되 너를 송사하는 사람들이 오거든 네 말을 들으리라 하고 헤롯 궁에 그를 지키라 명하니라
  he said, "I will hear your case when your accusers get here." Then he ordered that Paul be kept under guard in Herod's palace.

예레미야 33

1. 예레미야가 아직 시위대 뜰에 갇혔을 때에 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 다시 임하니라 가라사대
  While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time:

2. 일을 행하는 여호와, 그것을 지어 성취하는 여호와, 그 이름을 여호와라 하는 자가 이같이 이르노라
  "This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it--the LORD is his name:

3. 너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 비밀한 일을 네게 보이리라
  'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

4. 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와가 말하노라 무리가 이 성읍의 가옥과 유다 왕궁을 헐어서 갈대아인의 흉벽과 칼을 막아
  For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the houses in this city and the royal palaces of Judah that have been torn down to be used against the siege ramps and the sword

5. 싸우려 하였으나 내가 나의 노와 분함으로 그들을 죽이고 그 시체로 이 성에 채우게 하였나니 이는 그들의 모든 악을 인하여 나의 얼굴을 가리워 이 성을 돌아보지 아니하였음이니라
  in the fight with the Babylonians: 'They will be filled with the dead bodies of the men I will slay in my anger and wrath. I will hide my face from this city because of all its wickedness.

6. 그러나 보라 내가 이 성을 치료하며 고쳐 낫게 하고 평강과 성실함에 풍성함을 그들에게 나타낼 것이며
  "'Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.

7. 내가 유다의 포로와 이스라엘의 포로를 돌아오게 하여 그들을 처음과 같이 세울 것이며
  I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before.

8. 내가 그들을 내게 범한 그 모든 죄악에서 정하게 하며 그들의 내게 범하며 행한 모든 죄악을 사할 것이라
  I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me.

9. 이 성읍이 세계 열방 앞에서 내게 기쁜 이름이 될 것이며 찬송과 영광이 될 것이요 그들은 나의 이 백성에게 베푼 모든 복을 들을 것이요 나의 이 성읍에 베푼 모든 복과 모든 평강을 인하여 두려워하며 떨리라
  Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.'

10. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 너희가 가리켜 말하기를 황폐하여 사람도 없고 짐승도 없다 하던 여기 곧 황폐하여 사람도 없고 주민도 없고 짐승도 없던 유다 성읍들과 예루살렘 거리에서 즐거워하는 소리, 기뻐하는 소리, 신랑의 소리, 신부의 소리와 및 만군의 여호와께 감사하라, 여호와는 선하시니 그 인자하심이 영원하다 하는 소리와 여호와의 집에 감사제를 드리는 자들의 소리가 다시 들리리니 이는 내가 이 땅의 포로로 돌아와서 처음과 같이 되게 할 것임이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  "This is what the LORD says: 'You say about this place, "It is a desolate waste, without men or animals." Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither men nor animals, there will be heard once more

11. 10절과 같음
  the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, "Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever." For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,' says the LORD.

12. 나 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 황폐하여 사람도 없고 짐승도 없던 이 곳과 그 모든 성읍에 다시 목자의 거할 곳이 있으리니 그 양 무리를 눕게 할 것이라
  "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In this place, desolate and without men or animals--in all its towns there will again be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks.

13. 산지 성읍들과 평지 성읍들과 남방의 성읍들과 베냐민 땅과 예루살렘 사면과 유다 성읍들에서 양 무리가 다시 계수하는 자의 손 아래로 지나리라 여호와의 말이니라
  In the towns of the hill country, of the western foothills and of the Negev, in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hand of the one who counts them,' says the LORD.

14. 나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다 집에 대하여 이른 선한 말을 성취할 날이 이르리라
  "'The days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will fulfill the gracious promise I made to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

15. 그 날 그 때에 내가 다윗에게 한 의로운 가지가 나게 하리니 그가 이 땅에 공평과 정의를 실행할 것이라
  "'In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David's line; he will do what is just and right in the land.

16. 그 날에 유다가 구원을 얻겠고 예루살렘이 안전히 거할 것이며 그 성은 여호와 우리의 의라 일컬음을 입으리라
  In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.'

17. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 이스라엘 집 위에 앉을 사람이 다윗에게 영영히 끊어지지 아니할 것이며
  For this is what the LORD says: 'David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

18. 내 앞에서 번제를 드리며 소제를 사르며 다른 제를 항상 드릴 레위 사람 제사장들도 끊어지지 아니하리라 하시니라
  nor will the priests, who are Levites, ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.'"

19. 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

20. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 너희가 능히 낮에 대한 나의 약정과 밤에 대한 나의 약정을 파하여 주야로 그 때를 잃게 할 수 있을찐대
  "This is what the LORD says: 'If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,

21. 내 종 다윗에게 세운 나의 언약도 파하여 그로 그 위에 앉아 다스릴 아들이 없게 할 수 있겠으며 내가 나를 섬기는 레위인 제사장에게 세운 언약도 파할 수 있으리라
  then my covenant with David my servant--and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me--can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.

22. 하늘의 만상은 셀 수 없으며 바다의 모래는 측량할 수 없나니 내가 그와 같이 내 종 다윗의 자손과 나를 섬기는 레위인을 번성케 하리라 하시니라
  I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.'"

23. 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

24. 이 백성이 말하기를 여호와께서 그 택하신 두 족속을 버리셨다 한 것을 네가 생각지 아니하느냐 그들이 내 백성을 멸시하여 자기들 앞에서 나라로 인정치 아니하도다
  "Have you not noticed that these people are saying, 'The LORD has rejected the two kingdoms he chose'? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation.

25. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 나의 주야의 약정이 서지 아니할 수 있다든지 천지의 규례가 정한대로 되지 아니할 수 있다 할찐대
  This is what the LORD says: 'If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth,

26. 내가 야곱과 내 종 다윗의 자손을 버려서 다시는 다윗의 자손 중에서 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 자손을 다스릴 자를 택하지 아니하리라 내가 그 포로된 자로 돌아오게 하고 그를 긍휼히 여기리라
  then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.'"

시편 3-4

1. 여호와여 나의 대적이 어찌 그리 많은지요 일어나 나를 치는 자가 많소이다
  A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!

2. 많은 사람이 있어 나를 가리켜 말하기를 저는 하나님께 도움을 얻지 못한다 하나이다 (셀라)
  Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." Selah

3. 여호와여 주는 나의 방패시요 나의 영광이시요 나의 머리를 드시는 자니이다
  But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

4. 내가 나의 목소리로 여호와께 부르짖으니 그 성산에서 응답하시는도다 (셀라)
  To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah

5. 내가 누워 자고 깨었으니 여호와께서 나를 붙드심이로다
  I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

6. 천만 인이 나를 둘러치려 하여도 나는 두려워 아니하리이다
  I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.

7. 여호와여 일어나소서 나의 하나님이여 나를 구원하소서 주께서 나의 모든 원수의 뺨을 치시며 악인의 이를 꺾으셨나이다
  Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.

8. 구원은 여호와께 있사오니 주의 복을 주의 백성에게 내리소서 (셀라)
  From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. Selah

1. 내 의의 하나님이여 내가 부를 때에 응답하소서 곤란 중에 나를 너그럽게 하셨사오니 나를 긍휼히 여기사 나의 기도를 들으소서
  For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David. Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

2. 인생들아 어느 때까지 나의 영광을 변하여 욕되게 하며 허사를 좋아하고 궤휼을 구하겠는고 (셀라)
  How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods? Selah

3. 여호와께서 자기를 위하여 경건한 자를 택하신 줄 너희가 알지어다 내가 부를 때에 여호와께서 들으시리로다
  Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.

4. 너희는 떨며 범죄치 말지어다 자리에 누워 심중에 말하고 잠잠할지어다 (셀라)
  In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah

5. 의의 제사를 드리고 여호와를 의뢰할지어다
  Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.

6. 여러 사람의 말이 우리에게 선을 보일 자 누구뇨 하오니 여호와여 주의 얼굴을 들어 우리에게 비취소서
  Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.

7. 주께서 내 마음에 두신 기쁨은 저희의 곡식과 새 포도주의 풍성할 때보다 더하니이다
  You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.

8. 내가 평안히 눕고 자기도 하리니 나를 안전히 거하게 하시는 이는 오직 여호와시니이다
  I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
