사사기 20

1. 이에 모든 이스라엘 자손이 단에서부터 브엘세바까지와 길르앗 땅에서 나왔는데 그 회중이 일제히 미스바에서 여호와 앞에 모였으니
  Then all the Israelites from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came out as one man and assembled before the LORD in Mizpah.

2. 온 백성의 어른 곧 이스라엘 모든 지파의 어른들은 하나님 백성의 총회에 섰고 칼을 빼는 보병은 사십만이었으며
  The leaders of all the people of the tribes of Israel took their places in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand soldiers armed with swords.

3. 이스라엘 자손의 미스바에 올라간 것을 베냐민 자손이 들었더라 이스라엘 자손이 가로되 이 악한 일의 정형을 우리에게 고하라
  (The Benjamites heard that the Israelites had gone up to Mizpah.) Then the Israelites said, "Tell us how this awful thing happened."

4. 레위 사람 곧 죽임을 당한 여인의 남편이 대답하여 가로되 내가 내 첩으로 더불어 베냐민에 속한 기브아에 유숙하러 갔더니
  So the Levite, the husband of the murdered woman, said, "I and my concubine came to Gibeah in Benjamin to spend the night.

5. 기브아 사람들이 나를 치러 일어나서 밤에 나의 우거한 집을 에워싸고 나를 죽이려 하고 내 첩을 욕보여서 그로 죽게 한지라
  During the night the men of Gibeah came after me and surrounded the house, intending to kill me. They raped my concubine, and she died.

6. 내가 내 첩의 시체를 취하여 쪼개어 이스라엘 기업의 온 땅에 보내었노니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 중에서 음행과 망령된 일을 행하였음을 인함이로라
  I took my concubine, cut her into pieces and sent one piece to each region of Israel's inheritance, because they committed this lewd and disgraceful act in Israel.

7. 이스라엘 자손들아 너희가 다 여기 있은즉 너희의 의견과 방책을 낼찌니라
  Now, all you Israelites, speak up and give your verdict."

8. 모든 백성이 일제히 일어나며 가로되 우리가 하나라도 자기 장막으로 돌아가지 아니하며 하나라도 자기 집으로 들어가지 아니하고
  All the people rose as one man, saying, "None of us will go home. No, not one of us will return to his house.

9. 우리가 기브아 사람에게 이렇게 행하리니 곧 제비뽑아서 그들을 치되
  But now this is what we'll do to Gibeah: We'll go up against it as the lot directs.

10. 우리가 이스라엘 모든 지파 중에서 백에 열, 천에 백, 만에 천을 취하고 그 백성을 위하여 양식을 예비하고 그들로 베냐민의 기브아에 가서 그 무리의 이스라엘 중에서 망령된 일을 행한 대로 징계하게 하리라 하니라
  We'll take ten men out of every hundred from all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred from a thousand, and a thousand from ten thousand, to get provisions for the army. Then, when the army arrives at Gibeah in Benjamin, it can give them what they deserve for all this vileness done in Israel."

11. 이와 같이 이스라엘 모든 사람이 하나같이 합심하여 그 성읍을 치려고 모였더라
  So all the men of Israel got together and united as one man against the city.

12. 이스라엘 지파들이 베냐민 온 지파에 사람들을 보내어 두루 행하며 이르기를 너희 중에서 생긴 이 악이 어찜이뇨
  The tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What about this awful crime that was committed among you?

13. 그런즉 이제 기브아 사람 곧 그 비류를 우리에게 붙여서 우리로 죽여 이스라엘 중에 악을 제하여 버리게 하라 하나 베냐민 자손이 그 형제 이스라엘 자손의 말을 듣지 아니하고
  Now surrender those wicked men of Gibeah so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel." But the Benjamites would not listen to their fellow Israelites.

14. 도리어 각 성읍에서 기브아에 모이고 나가서 이스라엘 자손과 싸우고자 하니
  From their towns they came together at Gibeah to fight against the Israelites.

15. 그 때에 성읍들에서 나온 베냐민 자손의 수는 칼을 빼는 자가 모두 이만 육천이요 그 외에 기브아 거민 중 택한 자가 칠백인데
  At once the Benjamites mobilized twenty-six thousand swordsmen from their towns, in addition to seven hundred chosen men from those living in Gibeah.

16. 이 모든 백성 중에서 택한 칠백 명은 다 왼손잡이라 물매로 돌을 던지면 호리도 틀림이 없는 자더라
  Among all these soldiers there were seven hundred chosen men who were left-handed, each of whom could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.

17. 베냐민 자손 외에 이스라엘 사람의 칼을 빼는 자의 수는 사십만 명이니 다 전사라
  Israel, apart from Benjamin, mustered four hundred thousand swordsmen, all of them fighting men.

18. 이스라엘 자손이 일어나 벧엘에 올라가서 하나님께 묻자와 가로되 우리 중에 누가 먼저 올라가서 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 유다가 먼저일찌니라
  The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said, "Who of us shall go first to fight against the Benjamites?" The LORD replied, "Judah shall go first."

19. 이스라엘 자손이 아침에 일어나 기브아를 대하여 진을 치니라
  The next morning the Israelites got up and pitched camp near Gibeah.

20. 이스라엘 사람들이 나가서 항오를 벌이고 거기서 그들과 싸우고자 하매
  The men of Israel went out to fight the Benjamites and took up battle positions against them at Gibeah.

21. 베냐민 자손이 기브아에서 나와서 당일에 이스라엘 사람 이만 이천을 땅에 엎드러뜨렸으나
  The Benjamites came out of Gibeah and cut down twenty-two thousand Israelites on the battlefield that day.

22. 이스라엘 사람들이 스스로 용기를 내어 첫날 항오를 벌였던 곳에 다시 항오를 벌이니라
  But the men of Israel encouraged one another and again took up their positions where they had stationed themselves the first day.

23. 이스라엘 자손이 올라가서 여호와 앞에서 저물도록 울며 여호와께 묻자와 가로되 내가 다시 나아가서 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 올라가서 치라 하시니라
  The Israelites went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and they inquired of the LORD. They said, "Shall we go up again to battle against the Benjamites, our brothers?" The LORD answered, "Go up against them."

24. 그 이튿날에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 자손을 치러 나아가매
  Then the Israelites drew near to Benjamin the second day.

25. 베냐민도 그 이튿날에 기브아에서 그들을 치러 나와서 다시 이스라엘 자손 일만 팔천을 땅에 엎드러뜨렸으니 다 칼을 빼는 자였더라
  This time, when the Benjamites came out from Gibeah to oppose them, they cut down another eighteen thousand Israelites, all of them armed with swords.

26. 이에 온 이스라엘 자손 모든 백성이 올라가서 벧엘에 이르러 울며 거기서 여호와 앞에 앉고 그 날이 저물도록 금식하고 번제와 화목제를 여호와 앞에 드리고
  Then the Israelites, all the people, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the LORD. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the LORD.

27. 여호와께 물으니라 (그 때에는 하나님의 언약궤가 거기 있고
  And the Israelites inquired of the LORD. (In those days the ark of the covenant of God was there,

28. 아론의 손자 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 그 앞에 모셨더라) 이스라엘 자손이 묻자오되 내가 다시 나가 나의 형제 베냐민 자손과 싸우리이까 말리이까 여호와께서 가라사대 올라가라 내일은 내가 그를 네 손에 붙이리라
  with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, ministering before it.) They asked, "Shall we go up again to battle with Benjamin our brother, or not?" The LORD responded, "Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands."

29. 이스라엘이 기브아 사면에 군사를 매복하니라
  Then Israel set an ambush around Gibeah.

30. 이스라엘 자손이 제 삼 일에 베냐민 자손에게로 치러 올라가서 전과 같이 기브아를 대하여 항오를 벌이매
  They went up against the Benjamites on the third day and took up positions against Gibeah as they had done before.

31. 베냐민 자손이 나와서 백성을 맞더니 꾀임에 빠져 성읍을 떠났더라 그들이 큰 길 곧 한편은 벧엘로 올라가는 길이요 한편은 기브아의 들로 가는 길에서 백성을 쳐서 전과 같이 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명 가량을 죽이기 시작하며
  The Benjamites came out to meet them and were drawn away from the city. They began to inflict casualties on the Israelites as before, so that about thirty men fell in the open field and on the roads--the one leading to Bethel and the other to Gibeah.

32. 스스로 이르기를 이들이 처음과 같이 우리 앞에서 패한다 하나 이스라엘 자손은 이르기를 우리가 도망하여 그들을 성읍에서 큰 길로 꾀어내자 하고
  While the Benjamites were saying, "We are defeating them as before," the Israelites were saying, "Let's retreat and draw them away from the city to the roads."

33. 이스라엘 사람이 모두 그 처소에서 일어나서 바알다말에 항오를 벌였고 그 복병은 그 처소 곧 기브아 초장에서 쏟아져 나왔더라
  All the men of Israel moved from their places and took up positions at Baal Tamar, and the Israelite ambush charged out of its place on the west of Gibeah.

34. 온 이스라엘 사람 중에서 택한 사람 일만이 기브아에 이르러 치매 싸움이 심히 맹렬하나 베냐민 사람은 화가 자기에게 미친 줄을 알지 못하였더라
  Then ten thousand of Israel's finest men made a frontal attack on Gibeah. The fighting was so heavy that the Benjamites did not realize how near disaster was.

35. 여호와께서 이스라엘 앞에서 베냐민을 쳐서 파하게 하시매 당일에 이스라엘 자손이 베냐민 사람 이만 오천일백을 죽였으니 다 칼을 빼는 자이었더라
  The LORD defeated Benjamin before Israel, and on that day the Israelites struck down 25,100 Benjamites, all armed with swords.

36. 이에 베냐민 자손이 자기가 패한 것을 깨달았으니 이는 이스라엘 사람이 기브아에 매복한 군사를 믿고 잠간 베냐민 사람 앞을 피하매
  Then the Benjamites saw that they were beaten. Now the men of Israel had given way before Benjamin, because they relied on the ambush they had set near Gibeah.

37. 복병이 급히 나와 기브아에 돌입하고 나아가며 칼날로 온 성읍을 쳤음이더라
  The men who had been in ambush made a sudden dash into Gibeah, spread out and put the whole city to the sword.

38. 처음에 이스라엘 사람과 복병 사이에 상약하기를 성읍에서 큰 연기가 치미는 것으로 군호를 삼자 하고
  The men of Israel had arranged with the ambush that they should send up a great cloud of smoke from the city,

39. 이스라엘 사람은 싸우다가 물러가고 베냐민 사람은 이스라엘 사람 삼십 명 가량을 쳐죽이기를 시작하며 이르기를 이들이 정녕 처음 싸움같이 우리에게 패한다 하다가
  and then the men of Israel would turn in the battle. The Benjamites had begun to inflict casualties on the men of Israel (about thirty), and they said, "We are defeating them as in the first battle."

40. 연기 구름이 기둥같이 성읍 가운데서 일어날 때에 베냐민 사람이 돌아보매 온 성읍에 연기가 하늘에 닿았고
  But when the column of smoke began to rise from the city, the Benjamites turned and saw the smoke of the whole city going up into the sky.

41. 이스라엘 사람은 돌이키는지라 베냐민 사람이 화가 자기에게 미친 것을 보고 심히 놀라
  Then the men of Israel turned on them, and the men of Benjamin were terrified, because they realized that disaster had come upon them.

42. 이스라엘 사람 앞에서 몸을 돌이켜 광야 길로 향하였으나 군사가 급히 추격하며 각 성읍에서 나온 자를 그 가운데서 진멸하니라
  So they fled before the Israelites in the direction of the desert, but they could not escape the battle. And the men of Israel who came out of the towns cut them down there.

43. 그들이 베냐민 사람을 에워쌌더니 기브아 앞 동편까지 쫓으며 그 쉬는 곳에서 짓밟으매
  They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them and easily overran them in the vicinity of Gibeah on the east.

44. 베냐민 중에서 엎드러진 자가 일만 팔천이니 다 용사더라
  Eighteen thousand Benjamites fell, all of them valiant fighters.

45. 그들이 몸을 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르는 큰 길에서 이스라엘이 또 오천 명을 이삭 줍듯 하고 또 급히 따라 기돔에 이르러 또 이천 명을 죽였으니
  As they turned and fled toward the desert to the rock of Rimmon, the Israelites cut down five thousand men along the roads. They kept pressing after the Benjamites as far as Gidom and struck down two thousand more.

46. 이 날에 베냐민의 칼을 빼는 자의 엎드러진 것이 모두 이만 오천이니 다 용사더라
  On that day twenty-five thousand Benjamite swordsmen fell, all of them valiant fighters.

47. 베냐민 육백 명이 돌이켜 광야로 도망하여 림몬 바위에 이르러 거기서 넉 달을 지내었더라
  But six hundred men turned and fled into the desert to the rock of Rimmon, where they stayed four months.

48. 이스라엘 사람이 베냐민 자손에게로 돌아와서 온 성읍과 가축과 만나는 자를 다 칼날로 치고 닥치는 성읍마다 다 불살랐더라
  The men of Israel went back to Benjamin and put all the towns to the sword, including the animals and everything else they found. All the towns they came across they set on fire.

사도행전 24

1. 닷새 후에 대제사장 아나니아가 어떤 장로들과 한 변사 더둘로와 함께 내려와서 총독 앞에서 바울을 고소하니라
  Five days later the high priest Ananias went down to Caesarea with some of the elders and a lawyer named Tertullus, and they brought their charges against Paul before the governor.

2. 바울을 부르매 더둘로가 송사하여 가로되
  When Paul was called in, Tertullus presented his case before Felix: "We have enjoyed a long period of peace under you, and your foresight has brought about reforms in this nation.

3. 벨릭스 각하여 우리가 당신을 힘입어 태평을 누리고 또 이 민족이 당신의 선견을 인하여 여러 가지로 개량된 것을 우리가 어느 모양으로나 어느 곳에서나 감사 무지하옵나이다
  Everywhere and in every way, most excellent Felix, we acknowledge this with profound gratitude.

4. 당신을 더 괴롭게 아니하려 하여 우리가 대강 여짜옵나니 관용하여 들으시기를 원하나이다
  But in order not to weary you further, I would request that you be kind enough to hear us briefly.

5. 우리가 보니 이 사람은 염병이라 천하에 퍼진 유대인을 다 소요케 하는 자요 나사렛 이단의 괴수라
  "We have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world. He is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect

6. 저가 또 성전을 더럽게 하려 하므로 우리가 잡았사오니
  and even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him.

7. 당신이 친히 그를 심문하시면
  -

8. 우리의 송사하는 이 모든 일을 아실 수 있나이다 하니
  By examining him yourself you will be able to learn the truth about all these charges we are bringing against him."

9. 유대인들도 이에 참가하여 이 말이 옳다 주장하니라
  The Jews joined in the accusation, asserting that these things were true.

10. 총독이 바울에게 머리로 표시하여 말하라 하니 그가 대답하되 당신이 여러 해 전부터 이 민족의 재판장 된 것을 내가 알고 내 사건에 대하여 기쁘게 변명하나이다
  When the governor motioned for him to speak, Paul replied: "I know that for a number of years you have been a judge over this nation; so I gladly make my defense.

11. 당신이 아실 수 있는 바와 같이 내가 예루살렘에 예배하러 올라간 지 열 이틀 밖에 못되었고
  You can easily verify that no more than twelve days ago I went up to Jerusalem to worship.

12. 저희는 내가 성전에서 아무와 변론하는 것이나 회당과 또는 성중에서 무리를 소동케 하는 것을 보지 못하였으니
  My accusers did not find me arguing with anyone at the temple, or stirring up a crowd in the synagogues or anywhere else in the city.

13. 이제 나를 송사하는 모든 일에 대하여 저희가 능히 당신 앞에 내세울 것이 없나이다
  And they cannot prove to you the charges they are now making against me.

14. 그러나 이것을 당신께 고백하리이다 나는 저희가 이단이라 하는 도를 좇아 조상의 하나님을 섬기고 율법과 및 선지자들의 글에 기록된 것을 다 믿으며
  However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,

15. 저희의 기다리는 바 하나님께 향한 소망을 나도 가졌으니 곧 의인과 악인의 부활이 있으리라 함이라
  and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

16. 이것을 인하여 나도 하나님과 사람을 대하여 항상 양심에 거리낌이 없기를 힘쓰노라
  So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.

17. 여러 해 만에 내가 내 민족을 구제할 것과 제물을 가지고 와서
  "After an absence of several years, I came to Jerusalem to bring my people gifts for the poor and to present offerings.

18. 드리는 중에 내가 결례를 행하였고 모임도 없고 소동도 없이 성전에 있는 것을 저희가 보았나이다 그러나 아시아로부터 온 어떤 유대인들이 있었으니
  I was ceremonially clean when they found me in the temple courts doing this. There was no crowd with me, nor was I involved in any disturbance.

19. 저희가 만일 나를 반대할 사건이 있으면 마땅히 당신 앞에 와서 송사하였을 것이요
  But there are some Jews from the province of Asia, who ought to be here before you and bring charges if they have anything against me.

20. 그렇지 않으면 이 사람들이 내가 공회 앞에 섰을 때에 무슨 옳지 않은 것을 보았는가 말하라 하소서
  Or these who are here should state what crime they found in me when I stood before the Sanhedrin--

21. 오직 내가 저희 가운데 서서 외치기를 내가 죽은 자의 부활에 대하여 오늘 너희 앞에 심문을 받는다고 한 이 한 소리가 있을 따름이니이다 하니
  unless it was this one thing I shouted as I stood in their presence: 'It is concerning the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.'"

22. 벨릭스가 이 도에 관한 것을 더 자세히 아는 고로 연기하여 가로되 천부장 루시아가 내려오거든 너희 일을 처결하리라 하고
  Then Felix, who was well acquainted with the Way, adjourned the proceedings. "When Lysias the commander comes," he said, "I will decide your case."

23. 백부장을 명하여 바울을 지키되 자유를 주며 친구 중 아무나 수종하는 것을 금치 말라 하니라
  He ordered the centurion to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and permit his friends to take care of his needs.

24. 수일 후에 벨릭스가 그 아내 유대 여자 드루실라와 함께 와서 바울을 불러 그리스도 예수 믿는 도를 듣거늘
  Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.

25. 바울이 의와 절제와 장차 오는 심판을 강론하니 벨릭스가 두려워하여 대답하되 시방은 가라 내가 틈이 있으면 너를 부르리라 하고
  As Paul discoursed on righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, "That's enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you."

26. 동시에 또 바울에게서 돈을 받을까 바라는 고로 더 자주 불러 같이 이야기하더라
  At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him.

27. 이태를 지내서 보르기오 베스도가 벨릭스의 소임을 대신하니 벨릭스가 유대인의 마음을 얻고자 하여 바울을 구류하여 두니라
  When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison.

예레미야 34

1. 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살과 그 모든 군대와 그 통치하에 있는 땅의 모든 나라와 모든 백성이 예루살렘과 그 모든 성읍을 칠 때에 말씀이 여호와께로서 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  While Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army and all the kingdoms and peoples in the empire he ruled were fighting against Jerusalem and all its surrounding towns, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:

2. 이스라엘의 하나님 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 너는 가서 유다 왕 시드기야에게 고하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 보라 내가 이 성을 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙이리니 그가 이 성을 불사를 것이라
  "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Go to Zedekiah king of Judah and tell him, 'This is what the LORD says: I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will burn it down.

3. 네가 그 손에서 벗어나지 못하고 반드시 사로잡혀 그 손에 붙임을 입고 네 눈은 바벨론 왕의 눈을 볼 것이며 그 입은 네 입을 마주 대하여 말할 것이요 너는 바벨론으로 가리라
  You will not escape from his grasp but will surely be captured and handed over to him. You will see the king of Babylon with your own eyes, and he will speak with you face to face. And you will go to Babylon.

4. 그러나 유다 왕 시드기야여 나 여호와의 말을 들으라 나 여호와가 네게 대하여 이같이 말하노라 네가 칼에 죽지 아니하고
  "'Yet hear the promise of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah. This is what the LORD says concerning you: You will not die by the sword;

5. 평안히 죽을 것이며 사람이 너보다 먼저 있은 네 열조 선왕에게 분향하던 일례로 네게 분향하며 너를 위하여 애통하기를 슬프다 주여 하리니 이는 내가 말하였음이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  you will die peacefully. As people made a funeral fire in honor of your fathers, the former kings who preceded you, so they will make a fire in your honor and lament, "Alas, O master!" I myself make this promise, declares the LORD.'"

6. 선지자 예레미야가 이 모든 말씀을 예루살렘에서 유다 왕 시드기야에게 고하니라
  Then Jeremiah the prophet told all this to Zedekiah king of Judah, in Jerusalem,

7. 때에 바벨론 왕의 군대가 예루살렘과 유다의 남은 모든 성을 쳤으니 곧 라기스와 아세가라 유다의 견고한 성읍 중에 이것들만 남았음이더라
  while the army of the king of Babylon was fighting against Jerusalem and the other cities of Judah that were still holding out--Lachish and Azekah. These were the only fortified cities left in Judah.

8. 시드기야 왕이 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성과 언약하고 자유를 선언한 후에 여호와께로서 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라
  The word came to Jeremiah from the LORD after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to proclaim freedom for the slaves.

9. 그 언약은 곧 사람으로 각기 히브리 남녀 노비를 놓아 자유케 하고 그 동족 유다인으로 종을 삼지 못하게 한 것이라
  Everyone was to free his Hebrew slaves, both male and female; no one was to hold a fellow Jew in bondage.

10. 이 언약에 참가한 방백들과 모든 백성이 각기 노비를 자유케 하고 다시는 종을 삼지 말라 함을 듣고 순복하여 놓았더니
  So all the officials and people who entered into this covenant agreed that they would free their male and female slaves and no longer hold them in bondage. They agreed, and set them free.

11. 후에 그들의 뜻이 변하여 자유케 하였던 노비를 끌어다가 다시 복종시켜 노비를 삼았더라
  But afterward they changed their minds and took back the slaves they had freed and enslaved them again.

12. 그러므로 여호와의 말씀이 여호와께로서 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

13. 이스라엘 하나님 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 내가 너희 선조를 애굽 땅 종 되었던 집에서 인도하여 낼 때에 그들과 언약을 세워 이르기를
  "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I made a covenant with your forefathers when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. I said,

14. 너희 형제 히브리 사람이 네게 팔렸거든 칠 년 만에 너희는 각기 놓으라 그가 육 년을 너를 섬겼은즉 그를 놓아 자유케 할지니라 하였으나 너희 선조가 나를 듣지 아니하며 귀를 기울이지도 아니하였느니라
  'Every seventh year each of you must free any fellow Hebrew who has sold himself to you. After he has served you six years, you must let him go free.' Your fathers, however, did not listen to me or pay attention to me.

15. 그러나 너희는 이제 돌이켜 내 목전에 정당히 행하여 각기 이웃에게 자유를 선언하되 내 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 집에서 내 앞에서 언약을 세웠거늘
  Recently you repented and did what is right in my sight: Each of you proclaimed freedom to his countrymen. You even made a covenant before me in the house that bears my Name.

16. 너희가 뜻을 변하여 내 이름을 더럽히고 각기 놓아 그들의 마음대로 자유케 하였던 노비를 끌어다가 다시 너희에게 복종시켜서 너희 노비를 삼았도다
  But now you have turned around and profaned my name; each of you has taken back the male and female slaves you had set free to go where they wished. You have forced them to become your slaves again.

17. 그러므로 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 너희가 나를 듣지 아니하고 각기 형제와 이웃에게 자유를 선언한 것을 실행치 아니하였은즉 내가 너희에게 자유를 선언하여 너희를 칼과 염병과 기근에 붙이리라 나 여호와의 말이니라 내가 너희를 세계 열방 중에 흩어지게 할 것이며
  "Therefore, this is what the LORD says: You have not obeyed me; you have not proclaimed freedom for your fellow countrymen. So I now proclaim 'freedom' for you, declares the LORD--'freedom' to fall by the sword, plague and famine. I will make you abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth.

18. 송아지를 둘에 쪼개고 그 두 사이로 지나서 내 앞에 언약을 세우고 그 말을 실행치 아니하여 내 언약을 범한 너희를
  The men who have violated my covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and then walked between its pieces.

19. 곧 쪼갠 송아지 사이로 지난 유다 방백들과 예루살렘 방백들과 환관들과 제사장들과 이 땅 모든 백성을
  The leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the court officials, the priests and all the people of the land who walked between the pieces of the calf,

20. 내가 너희 원수의 손과 너희 생명을 찾는 자의 손에 붙이리니 너희 시체가 공중의 새들과 땅 짐승의 식물이 될 것이며
  I will hand over to their enemies who seek their lives. Their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.

21. 또 내가 유다 왕 시드기야와 그 방백들을 그 원수의 손과 그 생명을 찾는 자의 손과 너희에게서 떠나간 바벨론 왕의 군대의 손에 붙이리라
  "I will hand Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials over to their enemies who seek their lives, to the army of the king of Babylon, which has withdrawn from you.

22. 나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 내가 그들에게 명하여 이 성에 다시 오게 하리니 그들이 이 성을 쳐서 취하여 불사를 것이라 내가 유다 성읍들로 황무하여 거민이 없게 하리라
  I am going to give the order, declares the LORD, and I will bring them back to this city. They will fight against it, take it and burn it down. And I will lay waste the towns of Judah so no one can live there."

시편 5-6

1. 여호와여 나의 말에 귀를 기울이사 나의 심사를 통촉하소서
  For the director of music. For flutes. A psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.

2. 나의 왕, 나의 하나님이여 나의 부르짖는 소리를 들으소서 내가 주께 기도하나이다
  Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.

3. 여호와여 아침에 주께서 나의 소리를 들으시리니 아침에 내가 주께 기도하고 바라리이다
  In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

4. 주는 죄악을 기뻐하는 신이 아니시니 악이 주와 함께 유하지 못하며
  You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.

5. 오만한 자가 주의 목전에 서지 못하리이다 주는 모든 행악자를 미워하시며
  The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.

6. 거짓말하는 자를 멸하시리이다 여호와께서는 피 흘리기를 즐기고 속이는 자를 싫어하시나이다
  You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.

7. 오직 나는 주의 풍성한 인자를 힘입어 주의 집에 들어가 주를 경외함으로 성전을 향하여 경배하리이다
  But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.

8. 여호와여 나의 원수들을 인하여 주의 의로 나를 인도하시고 주의 길을 내 목전에 곧게 하소서
  Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies--make straight your way before me.

9. 저희 입에 신실함이 없고 저희 심중이 심히 악하며 저희 목구멍은 열린 무덤 같고 저희 혀로는 아첨하나이다
  Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.

10. 하나님이여 저희를 정죄하사 자기 꾀에 빠지게 하시고 그 많은 허물로 인하여 저희를 쫓아내소서 저희가 주를 배역함이니이다
  Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.

11. 오직 주에게 피하는 자는 다 기뻐하며 주의 보호로 인하여 영영히 기뻐 외치며 주의 이름을 사랑하는 자들은 주를 즐거워하리이다
  But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12. 여호와여 주는 의인에게 복을 주시고 방패로 함같이 은혜로 저를 호위하시리이다
  For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

1. 여호와여 주의 분으로 나를 견책하지 마옵시며 주의 진노로 나를 징계하지 마옵소서
  For the director of music. With stringed instruments. According to sheminith. A psalm of David. O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.

2. 여호와여 내가 수척하였사오니 긍휼히 여기소서 여호와여 나의 뼈가 떨리오니 나를 고치소서
  Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony.

3. 나의 영혼도 심히 떨리나이다 여호와여 어느 때까지니이까
  My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long?

4. 여호와여 돌아와 나의 영혼을 건지시며 주의 인자하심을 인하여 나를 구원하소서
  Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.

5. 사망 중에서는 주를 기억함이 없사오니 음부에서 주께 감사할 자 누구리이까
  No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave?

6. 내가 탄식함으로 곤핍하여 밤마다 눈물로 내 침상을 띄우며 내 요를 적시나이다
  I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

7. 내 눈이 근심을 인하여 쇠하며 내 모든 대적을 인하여 어두웠나이다
  My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.

8. 행악하는 너희는 다 나를 떠나라 여호와께서 내 곡성을 들으셨도다
  Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.

9. 여호와께서 내 간구를 들으셨음이여 여호와께서 내 기도를 받으시리로다
  The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.

10. 내 모든 원수가 부끄러움을 당하고 심히 떪이여 홀연히 부끄러워 물러가리로다
  All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
