사사기 15

 

1. 얼마 후 밀 거둘 때에 삼손이 염소 새끼를 가지고 그 아내에게로 찾아가서 가로되 내가 침실에 들어가 아내를 보고자 하노라 장인이 들어오지 못하게 하고
  Later on, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. He said, "I'm going to my wife's room." But her father would not let him go in.

2. 가로되 네가 그를 심히 미워하는 줄로 내가 생각한 고로 그를 네 동무에게 주었노라 그 동생이 그보다 더욱 아름답지 아니하냐 청하노니 너는 그의 대신에 이를 취하라
  "I was so sure you thoroughly hated her," he said, "that I gave her to your friend. Isn't her younger sister more attractive? Take her instead."

3. 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 이번은 내가 블레셋 사람을 해할찌라도 그들에게 대하여 내게 허물이 없을 것이니라 하고
  Samson said to them, "This time I have a right to get even with the Philistines; I will really harm them."

4. 삼손이 가서 여우 삼백을 붙들어서 그 꼬리와 꼬리를 매고 홰를 취하고 그 두 꼬리 사이에 한 홰를 달고
  So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails,

5. 홰에 불을 켜고 그것을 블레셋 사람의 곡식 밭으로 몰아 들여서 곡식단과 아직 베지 아니한 곡식과 감람원을 사른지라
  lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves.

6. 블레셋 사람이 가로되 누가 이 일을 행하였느냐 혹이 대답하되 딤나 사람의 사위 삼손이니 장인이 삼손의 아내를 취하여 그 동무 되었던 자에게 준 연고니라 블레셋 사람이 올라가서 그 여인과 그의 아비를 불사르니라
  When the Philistines asked, "Who did this?" they were told, "Samson, the Timnite's son-in-law, because his wife was given to his friend." So the Philistines went up and burned her and her father to death.

7. 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 너희가 이같이 행하였은즉 내가 너희에게 원수를 갚은 후에야 말리라 하고
  Samson said to them, "Since you've acted like this, I won't stop until I get my revenge on you."

8. 블레셋 사람을 크게 도륙하고 내려가서 에담 바위 틈에 거하니라
  He attacked them viciously and slaughtered many of them. Then he went down and stayed in a cave in the rock of Etam.

9. 이에 블레셋 사람이 올라와서 유다에 진을 치고 레히에 편만한지라
  The Philistines went up and camped in Judah, spreading out near Lehi.

10. 유다 사람들이 가로되 너희가 어찌하여 올라와서 우리를 치느냐 그들이 대답하되 우리가 올라오기는 삼손을 결박하여 그가 우리에게 행한 대로 그에게 행하려 함이로라
  The men of Judah asked, "Why have you come to fight us?" "We have come to take Samson prisoner," they answered, "to do to him as he did to us."

11. 유다 사람 삼천 명이 에담 바위 틈에 내려가서 삼손에게 이르되 너는 블레셋 사람이 우리를 관할하는 줄을 알지 못하느냐 네가 어찌하여 우리에게 이같이 행하였느냐 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 그들이 내게 행한 대로 나도 그들에게 행하였노라
  Then three thousand men from Judah went down to the cave in the rock of Etam and said to Samson, "Don't you realize that the Philistines are rulers over us? What have you done to us?" He answered, "I merely did to them what they did to me."

12. 그들이 삼손에게 이르되 우리가 너를 결박하여 블레셋 사람의 손에 붙이려고 이제 내려왔노라 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 너희는 친히 나를 치지 않겠다고 내게 맹세하라
  They said to him, "We've come to tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines." Samson said, "Swear to me that you won't kill me yourselves."

13. 그들이 삼손에게 일러 가로되 아니라 우리가 다만 너를 단단히 결박하여 그들의 손에 붙일 뿐이요 우리가 결단코 너를 죽이지 아니하리라 하고 새 줄 둘로 결박하고 바위 틈에서 그를 끌어내니라
  "Agreed," they answered. "We will only tie you up and hand you over to them. We will not kill you." So they bound him with two new ropes and led him up from the rock.

14. 삼손이 레히에 이르매 블레셋 사람이 그에게로 마주 나가며 소리지르는 동시에 여호와의 신의 권능이 삼손에게 임하매 그 팔 위의 줄이 불탄 삼과 같아서 그 결박되었던 손에서 떨어진지라
  As he approached Lehi, the Philistines came toward him shouting. The Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power. The ropes on his arms became like charred flax, and the bindings dropped from his hands.

15. 삼손이 나귀의 새 턱뼈를 보고 손을 내밀어 취하고 그것으로 일천 명을 죽이고
  Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.

16. 가로되 나귀의 턱뼈로 한 더미, 두 더미를 쌓았음이여 나귀의 턱뼈로 내가 일천 명을 죽였도다
  Then Samson said, "With a donkey's jawbone I have made donkeys of them. With a donkey's jawbone I have killed a thousand men."

17. 말을 마치고 턱뼈를 그 손에서 내어던지고 그 곳을 라맛 레히라 이름하였더라
  When he finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone; and the place was called Ramath Lehi.

18. 삼손이 심히 목마르므로 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 주께서 종의 손으로 이 큰 구원을 베푸셨사오나 내가 이제 목말라 죽어서 할례받지 못한 자의 손에 빠지겠나이다
  Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the LORD, "You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?"

19. 하나님이 레히에 한 우묵한 곳을 터치시니 물이 거기서 솟아나오는지라 삼손이 그것을 마시고 정신이 회복되어 소생하니 그러므로 그 샘 이름은 엔학고레라 이 샘이 레히에 오늘까지 있더라
  Then God opened up the hollow place in Lehi, and water came out of it. When Samson drank, his strength returned and he revived. So the spring was called En Hakkore, and it is still there in Lehi.

20. 블레셋 사람의 때에 삼손이 이스라엘 사사로 이십 년을 지내었더라
  Samson led Israel for twenty years in the days of the Philistines.

사도행전 19

1. 아볼로가 고린도에 있을 때에 바울이 윗지방으로 다녀 에베소에 와서 어떤 제자들을 만나
  While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples

2. 가로되 너희가 믿을 때에 성령을 받았느냐 가로되 아니라 우리는 성령이 있음도 듣지 못하였노라
  and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

3. 바울이 가로되 그러면 너희가 무슨 세례를 받았느냐 대답하되 요한의 세례로라
  So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied.

4. 바울이 가로되 요한이 회개의 세례를 베풀며 백성에게 말하되 내 뒤에 오시는 이를 믿으라 하였으니 이는 곧 예수라 하거늘
  Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."

5. 저희가 듣고 주 예수의 이름으로 세례를 받으니
  On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

6. 바울이 그들에게 안수하매 성령이 그들에게 임하시므로 방언도 하고 예언도 하니
  When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

7. 모두 열두 사람쯤 되니라
  There were about twelve men in all.

8. 바울이 회당에 들어가 석 달 동안을 담대히 하나님 나라에 대하여 강론하며 권면하되
  Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.

9. 어떤 사람들은 마음이 굳어 순종치 않고 무리 앞에서 이 도를 비방하거늘 바울이 그들을 떠나 제자들을 따로 세우고 두란노 서원에서 날마다 강론하여
  But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

10. 이같이 두 해 동안을 하매 아시아에 사는 자는 유대인이나 헬라인이나 다 주의 말씀을 듣더라
  This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.

11. 하나님이 바울의 손으로 희한한 능을 행하게 하시니
  God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,

12. 심지어 사람들이 바울의 몸에서 손수건이나 앞치마를 가져다가 병든 사람에게 얹으면 그 병이 떠나고 악귀도 나가더라
  so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

13. 이에 돌아다니며 마술하는 어떤 유대인들이 시험적으로 악귀들린 자들에게 대하여 주 예수의 이름을 불러 말하되 내가 바울의 전파하는 예수를 빙자하여 너희를 명하노라 하더라
  Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out."

14. 유대의 한 제사장 스게와의 일곱 아들도 이 일을 행하더니
  Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.

15. 악귀가 대답하여 가로되 예수도 내가 알고 바울도 내가 알거니와 너희는 누구냐 하며
  One day the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"

16. 악귀들린 사람이 그 두 사람에게 뛰어올라 억제하여 이기니 저희가 상하여 벗은 몸으로 그 집에서 도망하는지라
  Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

17. 에베소에 거하는 유대인과 헬라인들이 다 이 일을 알고 두려워하며 주 예수의 이름을 높이고
  When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.

18. 믿은 사람들이 많이 와서 자복하여 행한 일을 고하며
  Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed their evil deeds.

19. 또 마술을 행하던 많은 사람이 그 책을 모아 가지고 와서 모든 사람 앞에서 불사르니 그 책 값을 계산한즉 은 오만이나 되더라
  A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.

20. 이와 같이 주의 말씀이 힘이 있어 흥왕하여 세력을 얻으니라
  In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

21. 이 일이 다 된 후 바울이 마게도냐와 아가야로 다녀서 예루살렘에 가기를 경영하여 가로되 내가 거기 갔다가 후에 로마도 보아야 하리라 하고
  After all this had happened, Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. "After I have been there," he said, "I must visit Rome also."

22. 자기를 돕는 사람 중에서 디모데와 에라스도 두 사람을 마게도냐로 보내고 자기는 아시아에 얼마간 더 있으니라
  He sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he stayed in the province of Asia a little longer.

23. 그 때쯤 되어 이 도로 인하여 적지 않은 소동이 있었으니
  About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way.

24. 즉 데메드리오라 하는 어떤 은장색이 아데미의 은감실을 만들어 직공들로 적지 않은 벌이를 하게 하더니
  A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in no little business for the craftsmen.

25. 그가 그 직공들과 이러한 영업하는 자들을 모아 이르되 여러분도 알거니와 우리의 유족한 생활이 이 업에 있는데
  He called them together, along with the workmen in related trades, and said: "Men, you know we receive a good income from this business.

26. 이 바울이 에베소뿐 아니라 거의 아시아 전부를 통하여 허다한 사람을 권유하여 말하되 사람의 손으로 만든 것들은 신이 아니라 하니 이는 그대들도 보고 들은 것이라
  And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all.

27. 우리의 이 영업만 천하여질 위험이 있을 뿐 아니라 큰 여신 아데미의 전각도 경홀히 여김이 되고 온 아시아와 천하가 위하는 그의 위엄도 떨어질까 하노라 하더라
  There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited, and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty."

28. 저희가 이 말을 듣고 분이 가득하여 외쳐 가로되 크다 에베소 사람의 아데미여 하니
  When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

29. 온 성이 요란하여 바울과 같이 다니는 마게도냐 사람 가이오와 아리스다고를 잡아가지고 일제히 연극장으로 달려들어가는지라
  Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul's traveling companions from Macedonia, and rushed as one man into the theater.

30. 바울이 백성 가운데로 들어가고자 하나 제자들이 말리고
  Paul wanted to appear before the crowd, but the disciples would not let him.

31. 또 아시아 관원 중에 바울의 친구된 어떤 이들이 그에게 통지하여 연극장에 들어가지 말라 권하더라
  Even some of the officials of the province, friends of Paul, sent him a message begging him not to venture into the theater.

32. 사람들이 외쳐 혹은 이 말을, 혹은 저 말을 하니 모인 무리가 분란하여 태반이나 어찌하여 모였는지 알지 못하더라
  The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there.

33. 유대인들이 무리 가운데서 알렉산더를 권하여 앞으로 밀어내니 알렉산더가 손짓하며 백성에게 발명하려 하나
  The Jews pushed Alexander to the front, and some of the crowd shouted instructions to him. He motioned for silence in order to make a defense before the people.

34. 저희는 그가 유대인인 줄 알고 다 한 소리로 외쳐 가로되 크다 에베소 사람의 아데미여 하기를 두 시 동안이나 하더니
  But when they realized he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison for about two hours: "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

35. 서기장이 무리를 안돈시키고 이르되 에베소 사람들아 에베소 성이 큰 아데미와 및 쓰스에게서 내려온 우상의 전각지기가 된 줄을 누가 알지 못하겠느냐
  The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: "Men of Ephesus, doesn't all the world know that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image, which fell from heaven?

36. 이 일이 그렇지 않다 할 수 없으니 너희가 가만히 있어서 무엇이든지 경솔히 아니하여야 하리라
  Therefore, since these facts are undeniable, you ought to be quiet and not do anything rash.

37. 전각의 물건을 도적질하지도 아니하였고 우리 여신을 훼방하지도 아니한 이 사람들을 너희가 잡아왔으니
  You have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed temples nor blasphemed our goddess.

38. 만일 데메드리오와 및 그와 함께 있는 직공들이 누구에게 송사할 것이 있거든 재판 날도 있고 총독들도 있으니 피차 고소할 것이요
  If, then, Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a grievance against anybody, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. They can press charges.

39. 만일 그 외에 무엇을 원하거든 정식으로 민회에서 결단할찌라
  If there is anything further you want to bring up, it must be settled in a legal assembly.

40. 오늘 아무 까닭도 없는 이 일에 우리가 소요의 사건으로 책망받을 위험이 있고 우리가 이 불법 집회에 관하여 보고할 재료가 없다 하고
  As it is, we are in danger of being charged with rioting because of today's events. In that case we would not be able to account for this commotion, since there is no reason for it."

41. 이에 그 모임을 흩어지게 하니라
  After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.

예레미야 28

1. 이 해, 유다 왕 시드기야의 즉위한지 오래지 않은 해 곧 사년 오월에 기브온 앗술의 아들 선지자 하나냐가 여호와의 집에서 제사장들과 모든 백성 앞에서 내게 말하여 가로되
  In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people:

2. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하여 가라사대 내가 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 꺾었느니라
  "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

3. 내가 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 이 곳에서 바벨론으로 옮겨 간 여호와의 집 모든 기구를 두 해가 차기 전에 다시 이 곳으로 가져오게 하겠고
  Within two years I will bring back to this place all the articles of the LORD'S house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and took to Babylon.

4. 내가 또 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고니야와 바벨론으로 간 유다 모든 포로를 다시 이 곳으로 돌아오게 하리니 이는 내가 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 꺾을 것임이니라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨다 하는지라
  I will also bring back to this place Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and all the other exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,' declares the LORD, 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'"

5. 선지자 예레미야가 여호와의 집에 선 제사장들의 앞과 모든 백성앞에서 선지자 하나냐에게 말할쌔
  Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah before the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD.

6. 선지자 예레미야가 말하되 아멘, 여호와는 이 같이 하옵소서 여호와께서 네 예언대로 이루사 여호와의 집 기구와 모든 포로를 바벨론에서 이곳으로 다시 옮겨오시기를 원하노라
  He said, "Amen! May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied by bringing the articles of the LORD'S house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.

7. 그러나 너는 이제 내가 네 귀와 모든 백성의 귀에 이르는 이 말을 들으라
  Nevertheless, listen to what I have to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:

8. 나와 너 이전 선지자들이 자고로 여러 나라와 큰 국가들에 대하여 전쟁과 재앙과 염병을 예언하였느니라
  From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms.

9. 평화를 예언하는 선지자는 그 예언자의 말이 응한 후에야 그는 진실로 여호와의 보내신 선지자로 알게 되리라
  But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true."

10. 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 취하여 꺾고
  Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it,

11. 모든 백성 앞에서 말하여 가로되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 두 해가 차기 전에 열방의 목에서 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 멍에를 이같이 꺾어 버리리라 하셨느니라 하매 선지자 예레미야가 자기 길을 가니라
  and he said before all the people, "This is what the LORD says: 'In the same way will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations within two years.'" At this, the prophet Jeremiah went on his way.

12. 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 꺾어 버린 후에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  Shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

13. 너는 가서 하나냐에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 네가 나무 멍에를 꺾었으나 그 대신 쇠 멍에를 만들었느니라
  "Go and tell Hananiah, 'This is what the LORD says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron.

14. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라 내가 쇠 멍에로 이 모든 나라의 목에 메워 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기게 하였으니 그들이 그를 섬기리라 내가 들짐승도 그에게 주었느니라 하신다 하라
  This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.'"

15. 선지자 예레미야가 선지자 하나냐에게 이르되 하나냐여 들으라 여호와께서 너를 보내지 아니하셨거늘 네가 이 백성으로 거짓을 믿게 하는도다
  Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, "Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.

16. 그러므로 여호와께서 말씀하시되 내가 너를 지면에서 제하리니 네가 여호와께 패역하는 말을 하였음이라 금년에 죽으리라 하셨느니라 하더니
  Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.'"

17. 선지자 하나냐가 그 해 칠 월에 죽었더라
  In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.

마가복음 14

1. 이틀을 지나면 유월절과 무교절이라 대제사장들과 서기관들이 예수를 궤계로 잡아 죽일 방책을 구하며
  Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him.

2. 가로되 민요가 날까 하노니 명절에는 말자 하더라
  "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot."

3. 예수께서 베다니 문둥이 시몬의 집에서 식사하실 때에 한 여자가 매우 값진 향유 곧 순전한 나드 한 옥합을 가지고 와서 그 옥합을 깨뜨리고 예수의 머리에 부으니
  While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.

4. 어떤 사람들이 분내어 서로 말하되 무슨 의사로 이 향유를 허비하였는가
  Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume?

5. 이 향유를 삼백 데나리온 이상에 팔아 가난한 자들에게 줄 수 있었겠도다 하며 그 여자를 책망하는지라
  It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly.

6. 예수께서 가라사대 가만 두어라 너희가 어찌하여 저를 괴롭게 하느냐 저가 내게 좋은 일을 하였느니라
  "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

7. 가난한 자들은 항상 너희와 함께 있으니 아무 때라도 원하는 대로 도울 수 있거니와 나는 너희와 항상 함께 있지 아니하리라
  The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.

8. 저가 힘을 다하여 내 몸에 향유를 부어 내 장사를 미리 준비하였느니라
  She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial.

9. 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 온 천하에 어디서든지 복음이 전파되는 곳에는 이 여자의 행한 일도 말하여 저를 기념하리라 하시니라
  I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."

10. 열둘 중에 하나인 가룟 유다가 예수를 넘겨 주려고 대제사장들에게 가매
  Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.

11. 저희가 듣고 기뻐하여 돈을 주기로 약속하니 유다가 예수를 어떻게 넘겨 줄 기회를 찾더라
  They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

12. 무교절의 첫날 곧 유월절 양 잡는 날에 제자들이 예수께 여짜오되 우리가 어디로 가서 선생님으로 유월절을 잡수시게 예비하기를 원하시나이까 하매
  On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus' disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"

13. 예수께서 제자 중에 둘을 보내시며 가라사대 성내로 들어가라 그리하면 물 한 동이를 가지고 가는 사람을 만나리니 그를 따라가서
  So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, "Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.

14. 어디든지 그의 들어가는 그 집주인에게 이르되 선생님의 말씀이 내가 내 제자들과 함께 유월절을 먹을 나의 객실이 어디 있느뇨 하시더라 하라
  Say to the owner of the house he enters, 'The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'

15. 그리하면 자리를 베풀고 예비된 큰 다락방을 보이리니 거기서 우리를 위하여 예비하라 하신대
  He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there."

16. 제자들이 나가 성내로 들어가서 예수의 하시던 말씀대로 만나 유월절을 예비하니라
  The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

17. 저물매 그 열둘을 데리시고 와서
  When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve.

18. 다 앉아 먹을 때에 예수께서 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중에 한 사람 곧 나와 함께 먹는 자가 나를 팔리라 하신대
  While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me--one who is eating with me."

19. 저희가 근심하여 하나씩 하나씩 여짜오되 내니이까
  They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, "Surely not I?"

20. 이르시되 열둘 중 하나 곧 나와 함께 그릇에 손을 넣는 자니라
  "It is one of the Twelve," he replied, "one who dips bread into the bowl with me.

21. 인자는 자기에게 대하여 기록된 대로 가거니와 인자를 파는 그 사람에게는 화가 있으리로다 그 사람은 차라리 나지 아니하였더면 제게 좋을 뻔하였느니라 하시니라
  The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

22. 저희가 먹을 때에 예수께서 떡을 가지사 축복하시고 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 가라사대 받으라 이것이 내 몸이니라 하시고
  While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body."

23. 또 잔을 가지사 사례하시고 저희에게 주시니 다 이를 마시매
  Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it.

24. 가라사대 이것은 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라
  "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them.

25. 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 내가 포도나무에서 난 것을 하나님 나라에서 새 것으로 마시는 날까지 다시 마시지 아니하리라 하시니라
  "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."

26. 이에 저희가 찬미하고 감람 산으로 나가니라
  When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

27. 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 너희가 다 나를 버리리라 이는 기록된 바 내가 목자를 치리니 양들이 흩어지리라 하였느니라
  "You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written: "'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'

28. 그러나 내가 살아난 후에 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가리라
  But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

29. 베드로가 여짜오되 다 버릴찌라도 나는 그렇지 않겠나이다
  Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not."

30. 예수께서 가라사대 내가 진실로 네게 이르노니 오늘 이 밤 닭이 두 번 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라
  "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "today--yes, tonight--before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times."

31. 베드로가 힘있게 말하되 내가 주와 함께 죽을찌언정 주를 부인하지 않겠나이다 하고 모든 제자도 이와 같이 말하니라
  But Peter insisted emphatically, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the others said the same.

32. 저희가 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르매 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 나의 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉았으라 하시고
  They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."

33. 베드로와 야고보와 요한을 데리고 가실쌔 심히 놀라시며 슬퍼하사
  He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled.

34. 말씀하시되 내 마음이 심히 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 깨어 있으라 하시고
  "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."

35. 조금 나아가사 땅에 엎드리어 될 수 있는 대로 이 때가 자기에게서 지나가기를 구하여
  Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.

36. 가라사대 아바 아버지여 아버지께는 모든 것이 가능하오니 이 잔을 내게서 옮기시옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고
  "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

37. 돌아오사 제자들의 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 시몬아 자느냐 네가 한시 동안도 깨어 있을 수 없더냐
  Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Simon," he said to Peter, "are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?

38. 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 있어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고
  Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

39. 다시 나아가 동일한 말씀으로 기도하시고
  Once more he went away and prayed the same thing.

40. 다시 오사 보신즉 저희가 자니 이는 저희 눈이 심히 피곤함이라 저희가 예수께 무엇으로 대답할 줄을 알지 못하더라
  When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.

41. 세 번째 오사 저희에게 이르시되 이제는 자고 쉬라 그만이다 때가 왔도다 보라 인자가 죄인의 손에 팔리우느니라
  Returning the third time, he said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

42. 일어나라 함께 가자 보라 나를 파는 자가 가까이 왔느니라
  Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

43. 말씀하실 때에 곧 열둘 중의 하나인 유다가 왔는데 대제사장들과 서기관들과 장로들에게서 파송된 무리가 검과 몽치를 가지고 그와 함께 하였더라
  Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.

44. 예수를 파는 자가 이미 그들과 군호를 짜 가로되 내가 입맞추는 자가 그이니 그를 잡아 단단히 끌어가라 하였는지라
  Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard."

45. 이에 와서 곧 예수께 나아와 랍비여 하고 입을 맞추니
  Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.

46. 저희가 예수께 손을 대어 잡거늘
  The men seized Jesus and arrested him.

47. 곁에 섰는 자 중에 한 사람이 검을 빼어 대제사장의 종을 쳐 그 귀를 떨어뜨리니라
  Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

48. 예수께서 무리에게 말씀하여 가라사대 너희가 강도를 잡는 것같이 검과 몽치를 가지고 나를 잡으러 나왔느냐
  "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me?

49. 내가 날마다 너희와 함께 성전에 있어서 가르쳤으되 너희가 나를 잡지 아니하였도다 그러나 이는 성경을 이루려 함이니라 하시더라
  Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."

50. 제자들이 다 예수를 버리고 도망하니라
  Then everyone deserted him and fled.

51. 한 청년이 벗은 몸에 베 홑이불을 두르고 예수를 따라오다가 무리에게 잡히매
  A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him,

52. 베 홑이불을 버리고 벗은 몸으로 도망하니라
  he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.

53. 저희가 예수를 끌고 대제사장에게로 가니 대제사장들과 장로들과 서기관들이 다 모이더라
  They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, elders and teachers of the law came together.

54. 베드로가 예수를 멀찍이 좇아 대제사장의 집 뜰 안까지 들어가서 하속들과 함께 앉아 불을 쬐더라
  Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire.

55. 대제사장들과 온 공회가 예수를 죽이려고 그를 칠 증거를 찾되 얻지 못하니
  The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any.

56. 이는 예수를 쳐서 거짓 증거하는 자가 많으나 그 증거가 서로 합하지 못함이라
  Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.

57. 어떤 사람들이 일어나 예수를 쳐서 거짓 증거하여 가로되
  Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:

58. 우리가 그의 말을 들으니 손으로 지은 이 성전을 내가 헐고 손으로 짓지 아니한 다른 성전을 사흘에 지으리라 하더라 하되
  "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this man-made temple and in three days will build another, not made by man.'"

59. 오히려 그 증거도 서로 합하지 않더라
  Yet even then their testimony did not agree.

60. 대제사장이 가운데 일어서서 예수에게 물어 가로되 너는 아무 대답도 없느냐 이 사람들의 너를 치는 증거가 어떠하냐 하되
  Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"

61. 잠잠하고 아무 대답도 아니하시거늘 대제사장이 다시 물어 가로되 네가 찬송받을 자의 아들 그리스도냐
  But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

62. 예수께서 이르시되 내가 그니라 인자가 권능자의 우편에 앉은 것과 하늘 구름을 타고 오는 것을 너희가 보리라 하시니
  "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

63. 대제사장이 자기 옷을 찢으며 가로되 우리가 어찌 더 증인을 요구하리요
  The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked.

64. 그 참람한 말을 너희가 들었도다 너희는 어떻게 생각하느뇨 하니 저희가 다 예수를 사형에 해당한 자로 정죄하고
  "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death.

65. 혹은 그에게 침을 뱉으며 그의 얼굴을 가리우고 주먹으로 치며 가로되 선지자 노릇을 하라 하고 하속들은 손바닥으로 치더라
  Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.

66. 베드로는 아래 뜰에 있더니 대제사장의 비자 하나가 와서
  While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by.

67. 베드로의 불 쬠을 보고 주목하여 가로되 너도 나사렛 예수와 함께 있었도다 하거늘
  When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him. "You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus," she said.

68. 베드로가 부인하여 가로되 나는 네 말하는 것이 무엇인지 알지도 못하고 깨닫지도 못하겠노라 하며 앞뜰로 나갈쌔
  But he denied it. "I don't know or understand what you're talking about," he said, and went out into the entryway.

69. 비자가 그를 보고 곁에 서 있는 자들에게 다시 이르되 이 사람은 그 당이라 하되
  When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, "This fellow is one of them."

70. 또 부인하더라 조금 후에 곁에 서 있는 사람들이 다시 베드로에게 말하되 너는 갈릴리 사람이니 참으로 그 당이니라
  Again he denied it. After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, "Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean."

71. 베드로가 저주하며 맹세하되 나는 너희의 말하는 이 사람을 알지 못하노라 하니
  He began to call down curses on himself, and he swore to them, "I don't know this man you're talking about."

72. 닭이 곧 두 번째 울더라 이에 베드로가 예수께서 자기에게 하신 말씀 곧 닭이 두 번 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라 하심이 기억되어 생각하고 울었더라
  Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times." And he broke down and wept.
