사사기 13

1. 이스라엘 자손이 다시 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하였으므로 여호와께서 그들을 사십 년 동안 블레셋 사람의 손에 붙이시니라
  Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, so the LORD delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.

2. 소라 땅에 단 지파의 가족 중 마노아라 이름하는 자가 있더라 그 아내가 잉태하지 못하므로 생산치 못하더니
  A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was sterile and remained childless.

3. 여호와의 사자가 그 여인에게 나타나시고 그에게 이르시되 보라 네가 본래 잉태하지 못하므로 생산치 못하였으나 이제 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니
  The angel of the LORD appeared to her and said, "You are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son.

4. 그러므로 너는 삼가서 포도주와 독주를 마시지 말찌며 무릇 부정한 것을 먹지 말찌니라
  Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean,

5. 보라 네가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 그 머리에 삭도를 대지 말라 이 아이는 태에서 나옴으로부터 하나님께 바치운 나실인이 됨이라 그가 블레셋 사람의 손에서 이스라엘을 구원하기 시작하리라
  because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines."

6. 이에 그 여인이 가서 그 남편에게 고하여 가로되 하나님의 사람이 내게 임하였는데 그 용모가 하나님의 사자의 용모 같아서 심히 두려우므로 어디서부터 온 것을 내가 묻지 못하였고 그도 자기 이름을 내게 이르지 아니하였으며
  Then the woman went to her husband and told him, "A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn't ask him where he came from, and he didn't tell me his name.

7. 그가 내게 이르기를 보라 네가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으리니 포도주와 독주를 마시지 말며 무릇 부정한 것을 먹지 말라 이 아이는 태에서 나옴으로부터 죽을 날까지 하나님께 바치운 나실인이 됨이라 하더이다
  But he said to me, 'You will conceive and give birth to a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of God from birth until the day of his death.'"

8. 마노아가 여호와께 기도하여 가로되 주여 구하옵나니 주의 보내셨던 하나님의 사람을 우리에게 다시 임하게 하사 그로 우리가 그 낳을 아이에게 어떻게 행할 것을 우리에게 가르치게 하소서
  Then Manoah prayed to the LORD: "O Lord, I beg you, let the man of God you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born."

9. 하나님이 마노아의 목소리를 들으시니라 여인이 밭에 앉았을 때에 하나님의 사자가 다시 그에게 임하셨으나 그 남편 마노아는 함께 있지 아니한지라
  God heard Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman while she was out in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.

10. 여인이 급히 달려가서 그 남편에게 고하여 가로되 보소서 전일에 내게 임하였던 사람이 또 내게 나타났나이다
  The woman hurried to tell her husband, "He's here! The man who appeared to me the other day!"

11. 마노아가 일어나 아내를 따라가서 그 사람에게 이르러 그에게 묻되 당신이 이 여인에게 말씀하신 사람이니이까 가라사대 그로라
  Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, "Are you the one who talked to my wife?" "I am," he said.

12. 마노아가 가로되 당신의 말씀대로 되기를 원하나이다 이 아이를 어떻게 기르오며 우리가 그에게 어떻게 행하오리이까
  So Manoah asked him, "When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule for the boy's life and work?"

13. 여호와의 사자가 마노아에게 이르시되 내가 여인에게 말한 것들을 그가 다 삼가서
  The angel of the LORD answered, "Your wife must do all that I have told her.

14. 포도나무의 소산을 먹지 말며 포도주와 독주를 마시지 말며 무릇 부정한 것을 먹지 말아서 내가 그에게 명한 것은 다 지킬 것이니라
  She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her."

15. 마노아가 여호와의 사자에게 말씀하되 구하옵나니 당신은 우리에게 머물러서 우리가 당신을 위하여 염소 새끼 하나를 준비하게 하소서
  Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, "We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you."

16. 여호와의 사자가 마노아에게 이르시되 네가 비록 나를 머물리나 내가 너의 식물을 먹지 아니하리라 번제를 준비하려거든 마땅히 여호와께 드릴찌니라 하니 이는 마노아가 여호와의 사자인줄 알지 못함을 인함이었더라
  The angel of the LORD replied, "Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD." (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the LORD.)

17. 마노아가 또 여호와의 사자에게 말씀하되 당신의 이름이 무엇이니이까 당신의 말씀이 이룰 때에 우리가 당신을 존숭하리이다
  Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the LORD, "What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?"

18. 여호와의 사자가 그에게 이르시되 어찌하여 이를 묻느냐 내 이름은 기묘니라
  He replied, "Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding."

19. 이에 마노아가 염소 새끼 하나와 소제물을 취하여 반석 위에서 여호와께 드리매 사자가 이적을 행한지라 마노아와 그 아내가 본즉
  Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the LORD. And the LORD did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:

20. 불꽃이 단에서부터 하늘로 올라가는 동시에 여호와의 사자가 단 불꽃 가운데로 좇아 올라간지라 마노아와 그 아내가 이것을 보고 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드리니라
  As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.

21. 여호와의 사자가 마노아와 그 아내에게 다시 나타나지 아니하니 마노아가 이에 그가 여호와의 사자인 줄 알고
  When the angel of the LORD did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the LORD.

22. 그 아내에게 이르되 우리가 하나님을 보았으니 반드시 죽으리로다
  "We are doomed to die!" he said to his wife. "We have seen God!"

23. 그 아내가 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 우리를 죽이려 하셨더면 우리 손에서 번제와 소제를 받지 아니하셨을 것이요 이 모든 일을 보이지 아니하셨을 것이며 이제 이런 말씀도 우리에게 이르지 아니하셨으리이다 하였더라
  But his wife answered, "If the LORD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this."

24. 여인이 아들을 낳으매 이름을 삼손이라 하니라 아이가 자라매 여호와께서 그에게 복을 주시더니
  The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him,

25. 소라와 에스다올 사이 마하네단에서 여호와의 신이 비로소 그에게 감동하시니라
  and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

사도행전 17

1. 저희가 암비볼리와 아볼로니아로 다녀가 데살로니가에 이르니 거기 유대인의 회당이 있는지라
  When they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue.

2. 바울이 자기의 규례대로 저희에게로 들어가서 세 안식일에 성경을 가지고 강론하며
  As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

3. 뜻을 풀어 그리스도가 해를 받고 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아야 할 것을 증명하고 이르되 내가 너희에게 전하는 이 예수가 곧 그리스도라 하니
  explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. "This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ," he said.

4. 그 중에 어떤 사람 곧 경건한 헬라인의 큰 무리와 적지 않은 귀부인도 권함을 받고 바울과 실라를 좇으나
  Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few prominent women.

5. 그러나 유대인들은 시기하여 저자의 어떤 괴악한 사람들을 데리고 떼를 지어 성을 소동케 하여 야손의 집에 달려들어 저희를 백성에게 끌어내려고 찾았으나
  But the Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason's house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.

6. 발견치 못하매 야손과 및 형제를 끌고 읍장들 앞에 가서 소리질러 가로되 천하를 어지럽게 하던 이 사람들이 여기도 이르매
  But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some other brothers before the city officials, shouting: "These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here,

7. 야손이 들였도다 이 사람들이 다 가이사의 명을 거역하여 말하되 다른 임금 곧 예수라 하는 이가 있다 하더이다 하니
  and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar's decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus."

8. 무리와 읍장들이 이 말을 듣고 소동하여
  When they heard this, the crowd and the city officials were thrown into turmoil.

9. 야손과 그 나머지 사람들에게 보를 받고 놓으니라
  Then they made Jason and the others post bond and let them go.

10. 밤에 형제들이 곧 바울과 실라를 베뢰아로 보내니 저희가 이르러 유대인의 회당에 들어가니라
  As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.

11. 베뢰아 사람은 데살로니가에 있는 사람보다 더 신사적이어서 간절한 마음으로 말씀을 받고 이것이 그러한가 하여 날마다 성경을 상고하므로
  Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

12. 그 중에 믿는 사람이 많고 또 헬라의 귀부인과 남자가 적지 아니하나
  Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

13. 데살로니가에 있는 유대인들이 바울이 하나님 말씀을 베뢰아에서도 전하는 줄을 알고 거기도 가서 무리를 움직여 소동케 하거늘
  When the Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea, they went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up.

14. 형제들이 곧 바울을 내어 보내어 바다까지 가게 하되 실라와 디모데는 아직 거기 유하더라
  The brothers immediately sent Paul to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed at Berea.

15. 바울을 인도하는 사람들이 데리고 아덴까지 이르러 바울에게서 실라와 디모데를 자기에게로 속히 오게 하라는 명을 받고 떠나니라
  The men who escorted Paul brought him to Athens and then left with instructions for Silas and Timothy to join him as soon as possible.

16. 바울이 아덴에서 저희를 기다리다가 온 성에 우상이 가득한 것을 보고 마음에 분하여
  While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols.

17. 회당에서는 유대인과 경건한 사람들과 또 저자에서는 날마다 만나는 사람들과 변론하니
  So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

18. 어떤 에비구레오와 스도이고 철학자들도 바울과 쟁론할쌔 혹은 이르되 이 말장이가 무슨 말을 하고자 하느뇨 하고 혹은 이르되 이방 신들을 전하는 사람인가보다 하니 이는 바울이 예수와 또 몸의 부활 전함을 인함이러라
  A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.

19. 붙들어 가지고 아레오바고로 가며 말하기를 우리가 너의 말하는 이 새 교가 무엇인지 알 수 있겠느냐
  Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

20. 네가 무슨 이상한 것을 우리 귀에 들려 주니 그 무슨 뜻인지 알고자 하노라 하니
  You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean."

21. 모든 아덴 사람과 거기서 나그네 된 외국인들이 가장 새로 되는 것을 말하고 듣는 이 외에 달리는 시간을 쓰지 않음이더라
  (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.)

22. 바울이 아레오바고 가운데 서서 말하되 아덴 사람들아 너희를 보니 범사에 종교성이 많도다
  Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.

23. 내가 두루 다니며 너희의 위하는 것들을 보다가 알지 못하는 신에게라고 새긴 단도 보았으니 그런즉 너희가 알지 못하고 위하는 그것을 내가 너희에게 알게 하리라
  For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

24. 우주와 그 가운데 있는 만유를 지으신 신께서는 천지의 주재시니 손으로 지은 전에 계시지 아니하시고
  "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.

25. 또 무엇이 부족한 것처럼 사람의 손으로 섬김을 받으시는 것이 아니니 이는 만민에게 생명과 호흡과 만물을 친히 주시는 자이심이라
  And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

26. 인류의 모든 족속을 한 혈통으로 만드사 온 땅에 거하게 하시고 저희의 년대를 정하시며 거주의 경계를 한하셨으니
  From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

27. 이는 사람으로 하나님을 혹 더듬어 찾아 발견케 하려 하심이로되 그는 우리 각 사람에게서 멀리 떠나 계시지 아니하도다
  God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

28. 우리가 그를 힘입어 살며 기동하며 있느니라 너희 시인 중에도 어떤 사람들의 말과 같이 우리가 그의 소생이라 하니
  'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'

29. 이와 같이 신의 소생이 되었은즉 신을 금이나 은이나 돌에다 사람의 기술과 고안으로 새긴 것들과 같이 여길 것이 아니니라
  "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by man's design and skill.

30. 알지 못하던 시대에는 하나님이 허물치 아니하셨거니와 이제는 어디든지 사람을 다 명하사 회개하라 하셨으니
  In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

31. 이는 정하신 사람으로 하여금 천하를 공의로 심판할 날을 작정하시고 이에 저를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살리신 것으로 모든 사람에게 믿을 만한 증거를 주셨음이니라 하니라
  For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."

32. 저희가 죽은 자의 부활을 듣고 혹은 기롱도 하고 혹은 이 일에 대하여 네 말을 다시 듣겠다 하니
  When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject."

33. 이에 바울이 저희 가운데서 떠나매
  At that, Paul left the Council.

34. 몇 사람이 그를 친하여 믿으니 그 중 아레오바고 관원 디오누시오와 다마리라 하는 여자와 또 다른 사람들도 있었더라
  A few men became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others.

예레미야 26

1. 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김의 즉위 초에 여호와께로서 이 말씀이 임하니라 가라사대
  Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the LORD:

2. 나 여호와가 이같이 이르노라 너는 여호와의 집 뜰에 서서 유다 모든 성읍에서 여호와의 집에 와서 경배하는 자에게 내가 네게 명하여 이르게 한 모든 말을 고하되 한 말도 감하지 말라
  "This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD'S house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.

3. 그들이 듣고 혹시 각각 그 악한 길에서 떠나리라 그리하면 내가 그들의 악행으로 인하여 재앙을 그들에게 내리려 하던 뜻을 돌이키리라
  Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from his evil way. Then I will relent and not bring on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

4. 너는 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 너희가 나를 청종치 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 내 법을 행치 아니하며
  Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: If you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you,

5. 내가 너희에게 보내고 부지런히 보낸 나의 종 선지자들의 말을 이미 듣지 아니하였거니와 너희가 만일 다시 듣지 아니하면
  and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),

6. 내가 이 집을 실로같이 되게 하고 이 성으로 세계 열방의 저줏거리가 되게 하리라 하셨다 하라
  then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city an object of cursing among all the nations of the earth.'"

7. 예레미야가 여호와의 집에서 이 말을 하매 제사장들과 선지자들과 모든 백성이 듣더라
  The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the LORD.

8. 예레미야가 여호와께서 명하신 말씀을 모든 백성에게 고하기를 마치매 제사장들과 선지자들과 모든 백성이 그를 붙잡고 이르되 네가 반드시 죽으리라
  But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, "You must die!

9. 어찌하여 네가 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 예언하여 이르기를 이 집이 실로같이 되겠고 이 성이 황무하여 거민이 없으리라 하느뇨 하며 그 모든 백성이 여호와의 집에서 예레미야에게로 모여 드니라
  Why do you prophesy in the LORD'S name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?" And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

10. 유다 방백들이 이 일을 듣고 왕궁에서 여호와의 집으로 올라와서 여호와의 집 새 문 어귀에 앉으매
  When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the LORD and took their places at the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD'S house.

11. 제사장들과 선지자들이 방백들과 모든 백성에게 말하여 가로되 이 사람은 죽음이 합당하니 너희 귀로 들음같이 이 성을 쳐서 예언하였느니라
  Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, "This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!"

12. 예레미야가 모든 방백과 백성에게 일러 가로되 여호와께서 나를 보내사 너희의 들은 바 모든 말로 이 집과 이 성을 쳐서 예언하게 하셨느니라
  Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard.

13. 그런즉 너희는 너희 길과 행위를 고치고 너희 하나님 여호와의 목소리를 청종하라 그리하면 여호와께서 너희에게 선고하신 재앙에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키시리라
  Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you.

14. 보라 나는 너희 손에 있으니 너희 소견에 선한 대로, 옳은 대로 하려니와
  As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right.

15. 너희는 분명히 알라 너희가 나를 죽이면 정녕히 무죄한 피로 너희 몸과 이 성과 이 성 거민에게로 돌아가게 하리라 이는 여호와께서 진실로 나를 보내사 이 모든 말을 너희 귀에 이르게 하셨음이니라
  Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing."

16. 방백들과 모든 백성이 제사장들과 선지자들에게 이르되 이 사람이 우리 하나님 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 우리에게 말하였으니 죽음이 부당하니라
  Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, "This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God."

17. 때에 그 땅 장로 중 몇 사람이 일어나 백성의 온 회중에 말하여 가로되
  Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people,

18. 유다 왕 히스기야 시대에 모레셋 사람 미가가 유다 모든 백성에게 예언하여 가로되 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 시온은 밭같이 경작함을 당하며 예루살렘은 무더기가 되며 이 전의 산은 수풀의 높은 곳들같이 되리라 하였으나
  "Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: "'Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.'

19. 유다 왕 히스기야와 모든 유다가 그를 죽였느냐 히스기야가 여호와를 두려워하여 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 그들에게 선고한 재앙에 대하여 뜻을 돌이키지 아니하셨느냐 우리가 이같이 하면 우리 생명을 스스로 크게 해하는 일이니라
  "Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the LORD and seek his favor? And did not the LORD relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!"

20. 또 여호와의 이름을 의탁하고 예언한 사람이 있었는데 곧 기럇여아림 스마야의 아들 우리야라 그가 예레미야의 모든 말과 같이 이 성과 이 땅을 쳐서 예언하매
  (Now Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim was another man who prophesied in the name of the LORD; he prophesied the same things against this city and this land as Jeremiah did.

21. 여호야김 왕과 그 모든 용사와 모든 방백이 그 말을 듣고는 왕이 그를 죽이려 하매 우리야가 이를 듣고 두려워 애굽으로 도망하여 간지라
  When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt.

22. 여호야김 왕이 사람을 애굽으로 보내되 곧 악볼의 아들 엘라단과 몇 사람을 함께 애굽으로 보내었더니
  King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Acbor to Egypt, along with some other men.

23. 그들이 우리야를 애굽에서 끌어내어 여호야김 왕께로 데려오매 왕이 칼로 그를 죽이고 그 시체를 평민의 묘실에 던지게 하였다 하니라
  They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.)

24. 사반의 아들 아히감이 예레미야를 보호하여 예레미야를 백성의 손에 내어 주지 아니하여 죽이지 못하게 하니라
  Furthermore, Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.

마가복음 12

 

1. 예수께서 비유로 저희에게 말씀하시되 한 사람이 포도원을 만들고 산울로 두르고 즙 짜는 구유 자리를 파고 망대를 짓고 농부들에게 세로 주고 타국에 갔더니
  He then began to speak to them in parables: "A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey.

2. 때가 이르매 농부들에게 포도원 소출 얼마를 받으려고 한 종을 보내니
  At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.

3. 저희가 종을 잡아 심히 때리고 거저 보내었거늘
  But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed.

4. 다시 다른 종을 보내니 그의 머리에 상처를 내고 능욕하였거늘
  Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully.

5. 또 다른 종을 보내니 저희가 그를 죽이고 또 그외 많은 종들도 혹은 때리고 혹은 죽인지라
  He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed.

6. 오히려 한 사람이 있으니 곧 그의 사랑하는 아들이라 최후로 이를 보내며 가로되 내 아들은 공경하리라 하였더니
  "He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, 'They will respect my son.'

7. 저 농부들이 서로 말하되 이는 상속자니 자 죽이자 그러면 그 유업이 우리 것이 되리라 하고
  "But the tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.'

8. 이에 잡아 죽여 포도원 밖에 내어 던졌느니라
  So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.

9. 포도원 주인이 어떻게 하겠느뇨 와서 그 농부들을 진멸하고 포도원을 다른 사람들에게 주리라
  "What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.

10. 너희가 성경에 건축자들의 버린 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되었나니
  Haven't you read this scripture: "'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone;

11. 이것은 주로 말미암아 된 것이요 우리 눈에 기이하도다 함을 읽어 보지도 못하였느냐 하시니라
  the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?"

12. 저희가 예수의 이 비유는 자기들을 가리켜 말씀하심인 줄 알고 잡고자 하되 무리를 두려워하여 예수를 버려 두고 가니라
  Then they looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away.

13. 저희가 예수의 말씀을 책잡으려 하여 바리새인과 헤롯당 중에서 사람을 보내매
  Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Jesus to catch him in his words.

14. 와서 가로되 선생님이여 우리가 아노니 당신은 참되시고 아무라도 꺼리는 일이 없으시니 이는 사람을 외모로 보지 않고 오직 참으로써 하나님의 도를 가르치심이니이다 가이사에게 세를 바치는 것이 가하니이까 불가하니이까
  They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?

15. 우리가 바치리이까 말리이까 한대 예수께서 그 외식함을 아시고 이르시되 어찌하여 나를 시험하느냐 데나리온 하나를 가져다가 내게 보이라 하시니
  Should we pay or shouldn't we?" But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. "Why are you trying to trap me?" he asked. "Bring me a denarius and let me look at it."

16. 가져왔거늘 예수께서 가라사대 이 화상과 이 글이 뉘 것이냐 가로되 가이사의 것이니이다
  They brought the coin, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied.

17. 이에 예수께서 가라사대 가이사의 것은 가이사에게, 하나님의 것은 하나님께 바치라 하시니 저희가 예수께 대하여 심히 기이히 여기더라
  Then Jesus said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at him.

18. 부활이 없다 하는 사두개인들이 예수께 와서 물어 가로되
  Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question.

19. 선생님이여 모세가 우리에게 써 주기를 사람의 형이 자식이 없이 아내를 두고 죽거든 그 동생이 그 아내를 취하여 형을 위하여 후사를 세울찌니라 하였나이다
  "Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother.

20. 칠 형제가 있었는데 맏이 아내를 취하였다가 후사가 없이 죽고
  Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children.

21. 둘째도 그 여자를 취하였다가 후사가 없이 죽고 세째도 그렇게하여
  The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third.

22. 일곱이 다 후사가 없었고 최후에 여자도 죽었나이다
  In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too.

23. 일곱 사람이 다 그를 아내로 취하였으니 부활을 당하여 저희가 살아날 때에 그 중에 뉘 아내가 되리이까
  At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?"

24. 예수께서 가라사대 너희가 성경도 하나님의 능력도 알지 못하므로 오해함이 아니냐
  Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?

25. 사람이 죽은 자 가운데서 살아날 때에는 장가도 아니가고 시집도 아니가고 하늘에 있는 천사들과 같으니라
  When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

26. 죽은 자의 살아난다는 것을 의논할찐대 너희가 모세의 책 중 가시나무떨기에 관한 글에 하나님께서 모세에게 이르시되 나는 아브라함의 하나님이요 이삭의 하나님이요 야곱의 하나님이로라 하신 말씀을 읽어보지 못하였느냐
  Now about the dead rising--have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?

27. 하나님은 죽은 자의 하나님이 아니요 산 자의 하나님이시라 너희가 크게 오해하였도다 하시니라
  He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

28. 서기관 중 한 사람이 저희의 변론하는 것을 듣고 예수께서 대답 잘하신 줄을 알고 나아와 묻되 모든 계명 중에 첫째가 무엇이니이까
  One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"

29. 예수께서 대답하시되 첫째는 이것이니 이스라엘아 들으라 주 곧 우리 하나님은 유일한 주시라
  "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

30. 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하신 것이요
  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

31. 둘째는 이것이니 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하신 것이라 이에서 더 큰 계명이 없느니라
  The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

32. 서기관이 가로되 선생님이여 옳소이다 하나님은 한 분이시요 그 외에 다른 이가 없다 하신 말씀이 참이니이다
  "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.

33. 또 마음을 다하고 지혜를 다하고 힘을 다하여 하나님을 사랑하는 것과 또 이웃을 제 몸과 같이 사랑하는 것이 전체로 드리는 모든 번제물과 기타 제물보다 나으니이다
  To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."

34. 예수께서 그 지혜 있게 대답함을 보시고 이르시되 네가 하나님의 나라에 멀지 않도다 하시니 그 후에 감히 묻는 자가 없더라
  When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

35. 예수께서 성전에서 가르치실쌔 대답하여 가라사대 어찌하여 서기관들이 그리스도를 다윗의자손이라 하느뇨
  While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, "How is it that the teachers of the law say that the Christ is the son of David?

36. 다윗이 성령에 감동하여 친히 말하되 주께서 내 주께 이르시되 내가 네 원수를 네 발 아래 둘 때까지 내 우편에 앉았으라 하셨도다 하였느니라
  David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: "'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." '

37. 다윗이 그리스도를 주라 하였은즉 어찌 그의 자손이 되겠느냐 하시더라 백성이 즐겁게 듣더라
  David himself calls him 'Lord.' How then can he be his son?" The large crowd listened to him with delight.

38. 예수께서 가르치실 때에 가라사대 긴 옷을 입고 다니는 것과 시장에서 문안받는 것과
  As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces,

39. 회당의 상좌와 잔치의 상석을 원하는 서기관들을 삼가라
  and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.

40. 저희는 과부의 가산을 삼키며 외식으로 길게 기도하는 자니 그 받는 판결이 더욱 중하리라 하시니라
  They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."

41. 예수께서 연보 궤를 대하여 앉으사 무리의 연보 궤에 돈 넣는 것을 보실쌔 여러 부자는 많이넣는데
  Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.

42. 한 가난한 과부는 와서 두 렙돈 곧 한 고드란트를 넣는지라
  But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.

43. 예수께서 제자들을 불러다가 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이 가난한 과부는 연보궤에 넣는 모든 사람보다 많이 넣었도다
  Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.

44. 저희는 다 그 풍족한 중에서 넣었거니와 이 과부는 그 구차한 중에서 자기 모든 소유 곧 생활비 전부를 넣었느니라 하셨더라
  They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on."
