사사기 14

1. 삼손이 딤나에 내려가서 거기서 블레셋 딸 중 한 여자를 보고
  Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman.

2. 도로 올라와서 자기 부모에게 말하여 가로되 내가 딤나에서 블레셋 사람의 딸 중 한 여자를 보았사오니 이제 그를 취하여 내 아내를 삼게 하소서
  When he returned, he said to his father and mother, "I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife."

3. 부모가 그에게 이르되 네 형제들의 딸 중에나 내 백성 중에 어찌 여자가 없어서 네가 할례받지 아니한 블레셋 사람에게 가서 아내를 취하려 하느냐 삼손이 아비에게 이르되 내가 그 여자를 좋아하오니 나를 위하여 그를 데려오소서 하니
  His father and mother replied, "Isn't there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?" But Samson said to his father, "Get her for me. She's the right one for me."

4. 이 때에 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘을 관할한고로 삼손이 틈을 타서 블레셋 사람을 치려 함이었으나 그 부모는 이 일이 여호와께로서 나온 것인줄은 알지 못하였더라
  (His parents did not know that this was from the LORD, who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)

5. 삼손이 그 부모와 함께 딤나에 내려가서 딤나의 포도원에 이른즉 어린 사자가 그를 맞아 소리지르는지라
  Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward him.

6. 삼손이 여호와의 신에게 크게 감동되어 손에 아무것도 없어도 그 사자를 염소 새끼를 찢음같이 찢었으나 그는 그 행한 일을 부모에게도 고하지 아니하였고
  The Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

7. 그가 내려가서 그 여자와 말하며 그를 기뻐하였더라
  Then he went down and talked with the woman, and he liked her.

8. 얼마 후에 삼손이 그 여자를 취하려고 다시 가더니 돌이켜 그 사자의 주검을 본즉 사자의 몸에 벌 떼와 꿀이 있는지라
  Some time later, when he went back to marry her, he turned aside to look at the lion's carcass. In it was a swarm of bees and some honey,

9. 손으로 그 꿀을 취하여 행하며 먹고 그 부모에게 이르러 그들에게 그것을 드려서 먹게 하였으나 그 꿀을 사자의 몸에서 취하였다고는 고하지 아니하였더라
  which he scooped out with his hands and ate as he went along. When he rejoined his parents, he gave them some, and they too ate it. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey from the lion's carcass.

10. 삼손의 아비가 여자에게로 내려가매 삼손이 거기서 잔치를 배설하였으니 소년은 이렇게 행하는 풍속이 있음이더라
  Now his father went down to see the woman. And Samson made a feast there, as was customary for bridegrooms.

11. 무리가 삼손을 보고 삼십 명을 데려다가 동무를 삼아 그와 함께 하게 한지라
  When he appeared, he was given thirty companions.

12. 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 이제 내가 너희에게 수수께끼를 하리니 잔치하는 칠 일 동안에 너희가 능히 그것을 풀어서 내게 고하면 내가 베옷 삼십 벌과 겉옷 삼십 벌을 너희에게 주리라
  "Let me tell you a riddle," Samson said to them. "If you can give me the answer within the seven days of the feast, I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty sets of clothes.

13. 그러나 그것을 능히 내게 고하지 못하면 너희가 내게 베옷 삼십 벌과 겉옷 삼십 벌을 줄찌니라 그들이 이르되 너는 수수께끼를 하여 우리로 듣게 하라
  If you can't tell me the answer, you must give me thirty linen garments and thirty sets of clothes." "Tell us your riddle," they said. "Let's hear it."

14. 삼손이 그들에게 이르되 먹는 자에게서 먹는 것이 나오고 강한 자에게서 단 것이 나왔느니라 그들이 삼 일이 되도록 수수께끼를 풀지 못하였더라
  He replied, "Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet." For three days they could not give the answer.

15. 제 칠 일에 이르러 그들이 삼손의 아내에게 이르되 너는 네 남편을 꾀어 그 수수께끼를 우리에게 알리게 하라 그렇지 아니하면 너와 네 아비의 집을 불사르리라 너희가 우리의 소유를 취하고자 하여 우리를 청하였느냐 그렇지 아니하냐
  On the fourth day, they said to Samson's wife, "Coax your husband into explaining the riddle for us, or we will burn you and your father's household to death. Did you invite us here to rob us?"

16. 삼손의 아내가 그의 앞에서 울며 가로되 당신이 나를 미워할 뿐이요 사랑치 아니하는도다 우리 민족에게 수수께끼를 말하고 그 뜻을 내게 풀어 이르지 아니하도다 삼손이 그에게 대답하되 보라 내가 그것을 나의 부모에게도 풀어 고하지 아니하였거든 어찌 그대에게 풀어 이르리요 하였으나
  Then Samson's wife threw herself on him, sobbing, "You hate me! You don't really love me. You've given my people a riddle, but you haven't told me the answer." "I haven't even explained it to my father or mother," he replied, "so why should I explain it to you?"

17. 칠 일 잔치할 동안에 그 아내가 앞에서 울며 강박함을 인하여 제 칠 일에는 그가 그 아내에게 수수께끼를 풀어 이르매 그 아내가 그것을 그 민족에게 고하였더라
  She cried the whole seven days of the feast. So on the seventh day he finally told her, because she continued to press him. She in turn explained the riddle to her people.

18. 제 칠 일 해지기 전에 성읍 사람들이 삼손에게 이르되 무엇이 꿀보다 달겠으며 무엇이 사자보다 강하겠느냐 한지라 삼손이 그들에게 대답하되 너희가 내 암송아지로 밭갈지 아니하였더면 나의 수수께끼를 능히 풀지 못하였으리라 하니라
  Before sunset on the seventh day the men of the town said to him, "What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion?" Samson said to them, "If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle."

19. 여호와의 신이 삼손에게 크게 임하시매 삼손이 아스글론에 내려가서 그 곳 사람 삼십 명을 쳐죽이고 노략하여 수수께끼 푼 자들에게 옷을 주고 심히 노하여 아비 집으로 올라갔고
  Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power. He went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men, stripped them of their belongings and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle. Burning with anger, he went up to his father's house.

20. 삼손의 아내는 삼손의 친구되었던 그 동무에게 준 바 되었더라
  And Samson's wife was given to the friend who had attended him at his wedding.

사도행전 18

1. 이 후에 바울이 아덴을 떠나 고린도에 이르러
  After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.

2. 아굴라라 하는 본도에서 난 유대인 하나를 만나니 글라우디오가 모든 유대인을 명하여 로마에서 떠나라 한 고로 그가 그 아내 브리스길라와 함께 이달리야로부터 새로 온지라 바울이 그들에게 가매
  There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to see them,

3. 업이 같으므로 함께 거하여 일을 하니 그 업은 장막을 만드는 것이더라
  and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them.

4. 안식일마다 바울이 회당에서 강론하고 유대인과 헬라인을 권면하니라
  Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.

5. 실라와 디모데가 마게도냐로서 내려오매 바울이 하나님의 말씀에 붙잡혀 유대인들에게 예수는 그리스도라 밝히 증거하니
  When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

6. 저희가 대적하여 훼방하거늘 바울이 옷을 떨어 가로되 너희 피가 너희 머리로 돌아갈 것이요 나는 깨끗하니라 이 후에는 이방인에게로 가리라 하고
  But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

7. 거기서 옮겨 하나님을 공경하는 디도 유스도라 하는 사람의 집에 들어가니 그 집이 회당 옆이라
  Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God.

8. 또 회당장 그리스보가 온 집으로 더불어 주를 믿으며 수다한 고린도 사람도 듣고 믿어 세례를 받더라
  Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.

9. 밤에 주께서 환상 가운데 바울에게 말씀하시되 두려워하지 말며 잠잠하지 말고 말하라
  One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.

10. 내가 너와 함께 있으매 아무 사람도 너를 대적하여 해롭게 할 자가 없을 것이니 이는 이 성중에 내 백성이 많음이라 하시더라
  For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city."

11. 일 년 육 개월을 유하며 그들 가운데서 하나님의 말씀을 가르치니라
  So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.

12. 갈리오가 아가야 총독 되었을 때에 유대인이 일제히 일어나 바울을 대적하여 재판 자리로 데리고 와서
  While Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him into court.

13. 말하되 이 사람이 율법을 어기어 하나님을 공경하라고 사람들을 권한다 하거늘
  "This man," they charged, "is persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law."

14. 바울이 입을 열고자 할 때에 갈리오가 유대인들에게 이르되 너희 유대인들아 만일 무슨 부정한 일이나 괴악한 행동이었으면 내가 너희 말을 들어 주는 것이 가하거니와
  Just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, "If you Jews were making a complaint about some misdemeanor or serious crime, it would be reasonable for me to listen to you.

15. 만일 문제가 언어와 명칭과 너희 법에 관한 것이면 너희가 스스로 처리하라 나는 이러한 일에 재판장 되기를 원치 아니하노라 하고
  But since it involves questions about words and names and your own law--settle the matter yourselves. I will not be a judge of such things."

16. 저희를 재판 자리에서 쫓아내니
  So he had them ejected from the court.

17. 모든 사람이 회당장 소스데네를 잡아 재판 자리 앞에서 때리되 갈리오가 이 일을 상관치 아니하니라
  Then they all turned on Sosthenes the synagogue ruler and beat him in front of the court. But Gallio showed no concern whatever.

18. 바울은 더 여러 날 유하다가 형제들을 작별하고 배 타고 수리아로 떠나갈쌔 브리스길라와 아굴라도 함께 하더라 바울이 일찍 서원이 있으므로 겐그레아에서 머리를 깎았더라
  Paul stayed on in Corinth for some time. Then he left the brothers and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchrea because of a vow he had taken.

19. 에베소에 와서 저희를 거기 머물러 두고 자기는 회당에 들어가서 유대인들과 변론하니
  They arrived at Ephesus, where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

20. 여러 사람이 더 오래 있기를 청하되 허락지 아니하고
  When they asked him to spend more time with them, he declined.

21. 작별하여 가로되 만일 하나님의 뜻이면 너희에게 돌아오리라 하고 배를 타고 에베소를 떠나
  But as he left, he promised, "I will come back if it is God's will." Then he set sail from Ephesus.

22. 가이사랴에서 상륙하여 올라가 교회의 안부를 물은 후에 안디옥으로 내려가서
  When he landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church and then went down to Antioch.

23. 얼마 있다가 떠나 갈라디아와 브루기아 땅을 차례로 다니며 모든 제자를 굳게 하니라
  After spending some time in Antioch, Paul set out from there and traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

24. 알렉산드리아에서 난 아볼로라 하는 유대인이 에베소에 이르니 이 사람은 학문이 많고 성경에 능한 자라
  Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.

25. 그가 일찍 주의 도를 배워 열심으로 예수에 관한 것을 자세히 말하며 가르치나 요한의 세례만 알 따름이라
  He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.

26. 그가 회당에서 담대히 말하기를 시작하거늘 브리스길라와 아굴라가 듣고 데려다가 하나님의 도를 더 자세히 풀어 이르더라
  He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

27. 아볼로가 아가야로 건너가고자 하니 형제들이 저를 장려하며 제자들에게 편지하여 영접하라 하였더니 저가 가매 은혜로 말미암아 믿은 자들에게 많은 유익을 주니
  When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.

28. 이는 성경으로써 예수는 그리스도라고 증거하여 공중 앞에서 유력하게 유대인의 말을 이김일러라
  For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

예레미야 27

1. 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김의 즉위한 지 오래지 아니하여서 여호와께서 말씀으로 나 예레미야에게 이르시니라
  Early in the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:

2. 여호와께서 이같이 내게 이르시되 너는 줄과 멍에를 만들어 네 목에 얹고
  This is what the LORD said to me: "Make a yoke out of straps and crossbars and put it on your neck.

3. 유다 왕 시드기야를 보러 예루살렘에 온 사신들의 손에도 그것을 붙여 에돔 왕과 모압 왕과 암몬 자손의 왕과 두로 왕과 시돈 왕에게 보내며
  Then send word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre and Sidon through the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

4. 그들에게 명하여 그 주에게 이르게 하기를 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말씀하시되 너희는 너희 주에게 이같이 고하라
  Give them a message for their masters and say, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Tell this to your masters:

5. 나는 내 큰 능과 나의 든 팔로 땅과 그 위에 있는 사람과 짐승들을 만들고 나의 소견에 옳은 대로 땅을 사람에게 주었노라
  With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.

6. 이제 내가 이 모든 땅을 내 종 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 주고 또 들짐승들을 그에게 주어서 부리게 하였나니
  Now I will hand all your countries over to my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.

7. 열방이 그와 그 아들과 손자를 섬기리라 그의 땅의 기한이 이르면 여러 나라와 큰 왕이 그로 자기를 섬기게 하리라마는
  All nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.

8. 나 여호와가 이르노라 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기지 아니하는 국민이나 그 목으로 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 메지 아니하는 백성은 내가 그의 손으로 진멸시키기까지 칼과 기근과 염병으로 벌하리라
  "' "If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the LORD, until I destroy it by his hand.

9. 너희는 너희 선지자나 너희 복술이나 너희 꿈꾸는 자나 너희 술사나 너희 요술객이 너희에게 이르기를 너희가 바벨론 왕을 섬기지 아니하리라 하여도 듣지 말라
  So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon.'

10. 그들은 너희에게 거짓을 예언하여서 너희로 너희 땅에서 멀리 떠나게 하며 또 나로 너희를 몰아내게 하며 너희를 멸하게 하느니라
  They prophesy lies to you that will only serve to remove you far from your lands; I will banish you and you will perish.

11. 오직 그 목으로 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 메고 그를 섬기는 나라는 내가 그들을 그 땅에 머물러서 밭을 갈며 거기 거하게 하리라 하셨다 하라 여호와의 말이니라
  But if any nation will bow its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let that nation remain in its own land to till it and to live there, declares the LORD." '"

12. 내가 이 모든 말씀대로 유다 왕 시드기야에게 고하여 가로되 왕과 백성은 목으로 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 메고 그와 그 백성을 섬기소서 그리하면 살리이다
  I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, "Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.

13. 어찌하여 왕과 왕의 백성이 여호와께서 바벨론 왕을 섬기지 아니하는 나라에 대하여 하신 말씀같이 칼과 기근과 염병에 죽으려 하나이까
  Why will you and your people die by the sword, famine and plague with which the LORD has threatened any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14. 왕과 백성에게 바벨론 왕을 섬기지 아니하리라 하는 선지자의 말을 듣지 마소서 그들은 거짓을 예언하나이다
  Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon,' for they are prophesying lies to you.

15. 여호와께서 말씀하시되 내가 그들을 보내지 아니하였거늘 그들이 내 이름으로 거짓을 예언하니 내가 너희를 몰아내며 너희와 너희에게 예언하는 선지자들을 멸망시키기에 이르리라 하셨나이다
  'I have not sent them,' declares the LORD. 'They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.'"

16. 내가 또 제사장들과 그 모든 백성에게 고하여 가로되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 여호와의 집 기구를 이제 바벨론에서 속히 돌려오리라고 너희에게 예언하는 선지자들의 말을 듣지 말라 이는 그들이 거짓을 예언함이니라 하셨나니
  Then I said to the priests and all these people, "This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the prophets who say, 'Very soon now the articles from the LORD'S house will be brought back from Babylon.' They are prophesying lies to you.

17. 너희는 그들을 듣지 말고 바벨론 왕을 섬기라 그리하면 살리라 어찌하여 이 성으로 황무지가 되게 하겠느냐
  Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this city become a ruin?

18. 만일 그들이 선지자이고 여호와의 말씀이 그들에게 있을찐대 그들이 여호와의 집에와 유다 왕의 집에와 예루살렘에 남아 있는 기구가 바벨론으로 옮겨가지 않도록 만군의 여호와께 구하여야 할 것이니라
  If they are prophets and have the word of the LORD, let them plead with the LORD Almighty that the furnishings remaining in the house of the LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.

19. 만군의 여호와께서 기둥들과 놋바다와 받침들과 및 이 성에 남아 있는 기구에 대하여 이같이 말씀하시나니
  For this is what the LORD Almighty says about the pillars, the Sea, the movable stands and the other furnishings that are left in this city,

20. 이것은 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고니야와 유다와 예루살렘 모든 귀족을 예루살렘에서 바벨론으로 사로잡아 옮길 때에 취하지 아니하였던 것이라
  which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take away when he carried Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem--

21. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 여호와의 집에와 유다 왕의 집에와 예루살렘에 남아 있는 그 기구에 대하여 이같이 말씀하시되
  yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the things that are left in the house of the LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem:

22. 그것들이 바벨론으로 옮김을 입고 내가 이것을 돌아보는 날까지 거기 있을 것이니라 그 후에 내가 그것을 옮겨 이 곳에 다시 두리라 여호와의 말이니라
  'They will be taken to Babylon and there they will remain until the day I come for them,' declares the LORD. 'Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.'"

마가복음 13

1. 예수께서 성전에서 나가실 때에 제자 중 하나가 가로되 선생님이여 보소서 이 돌들이 어떠하며 이 건물들이 어떠하니이까
  As he was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!"

2. 예수께서 이르시되 네가 이 큰 건물들을 보느냐 돌 하나도 돌 위에 남지 않고 다 무너뜨려지리라 하시니라
  "Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus. "Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

3. 예수께서 감람 산에서 성전을 마주 대하여 앉으셨을 때에 베드로와 야고보와 요한과 안드레가 종용히 묻자오되
  As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,

4. 우리에게 이르소서 어느 때에 이런 일이 있겠사오며 이 모든 일이 이루려 할 때에 무슨 징조가 있사오리이까
  "Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?"

5. 예수께서 이르시되 너희가 사람의 미혹을 받지 않도록 주의하라
  Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you.

6. 많은 사람이 내 이름으로 와서 이르되 내가 그로라 하여 많은 사람을 미혹케 하리라
  Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and will deceive many.

7. 난리와 난리 소문을 들을 때에 두려워 말라 이런 일이 있어야 하되 끝은 아직 아니니라
  When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

8. 민족이 민족을, 나라가 나라를 대적하여 일어나겠고 처처에 지진이 있으며 기근이 있으리니 이는 재난의 시작이니라
  Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

9. 너희는 스스로 조심하라 사람들이 너희를 공회에 넘겨 주겠고 너희를 회당에서 매질하겠으며 나를 인하여 너희가 관장들과 임금들 앞에 서리니 이는 저희에게 증거되려 함이라
  "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them.

10. 또 복음이 먼저 만국에 전파되어야 할 것이니라
  And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

11. 사람들이 너희를 끌어다가 넘겨 줄 때에 무슨 말을 할까 미리 염려치 말고 무엇이든지 그 시에 너희에게 주시는 그 말을 하라 말하는 이는 너희가 아니요 성령이시니라
  Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

12. 형제가 형제를, 아비가 자식을 죽는 데 내어 주며 자식들이 부모를 대적하여 죽게 하리라
  "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.

13. 또 너희가 내 이름을 인하여 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이나 나중까지 견디는 자는 구원을 얻으리라
  All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

14. 멸망의 가증한 것이 서지 못할 곳에 선것을 보거든 (읽는 자는 깨달을찐저) 그 때에 유대에있는 자들은 산으로 도망할찌어다
  "When you see 'the abomination that causes desolation' standing where it does not belong--let the reader understand--then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

15. 지붕 위에 있는 자는 내려가지도 말고 집에 있는 무엇을 가지러 들어가지도 말며
  Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out.

16. 밭에 있는 자는 겉옷을 가지러 뒤로 돌이키지 말찌어다
  Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak.

17. 그 날에는 아이 밴 자들과 젖 먹이는 자들에게 화가 있으리로다
  How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!

18. 이 일이 겨울에 나지 않도록 기도하라
  Pray that this will not take place in winter,

19. 이는 그날들은 환난의 날이 되겠음이라 하나님의 창조하신 창초부터 지금까지 이런 환난이없었고 후에도 없으리라
  because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now--and never to be equaled again.

20. 만일 주께서 그 날들을 감하지 아니하셨더면 모든 육체가 구원을 얻지 못할 것이어늘 자기의 택하신 백성을 위하여 그 날들을 감하셨느니라
  If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

21. 그 때에 사람이 너희에게 말하되 보라 그리스도가 여기 있다 보라 저기 있다 하여도 믿지 말라
  At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it.

22. 거짓 그리스도들과 거짓 선지자들이 일어나서 이적과 기사를 행하여 할 수만 있으면 택하신 백성을 미혹케 하려 하리라
  For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect--if that were possible.

23. 너희는 삼가라 내가 모든 일을 너희에게 미리 말하였노라
  So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

24. 그 때에 그 환난 후 해가 어두워지며 달이 빛을 내지 아니하며
  "But in those days, following that distress, "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;

25. 별들이 하늘에서 떨어지며 하늘에 있는 권능들이 흔들리리라
  the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

26. 그 때에 인자가 구름을 타고 큰 권능과 영광으로 오는 것을 사람들이 보리라
  "At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

27. 또 그 때에 저가 천사들을 보내어 자기 택하신 자들을 땅 끝으로부터 하늘 끝까지 사방에서 모으리라
  And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

28. 무화과나무의 비유를 배우라 그 가지가 연하여지고 잎사귀를 내면 여름이 가까운 줄을 아나니
  "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.

29. 이와 같이 너희가 이런 일이 나는 것을 보거든 인자가 가까이 곧 문 앞에 이른 줄을 알라
  Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.

30. 내가 진실로 너희에게 말하노니 이 세대가 지나가기 전에 이 일이 다 이루리라
  I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

31. 천지는 없어지겠으나 내 말은 없어지지 아니하리라
  Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

32. 그러나 그 날과 그 때는 아무도 모르나니 하늘에 있는 천사들도, 아들도 모르고 아버지만 아시느니라
  "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

33. 주의하라 깨어 있으라 그 때가 언제인지 알지 못함이니라
  Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.

34. 가령 사람이 집을 떠나 타국으로 갈 때에 그 종들에게 권한을 주어 각각 사무를 맡기며 문지기에게 깨어 있으라 명함과 같으니
  It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.

35. 그러므로 깨어 있으라 집주인이 언제 올는지 혹 저물 때엘는지, 밤중엘는지, 닭 울 때엘는지, 새벽엘는지 너희가 알지 못함이라
  "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.

36. 그가 홀연히 와서 너희의 자는 것을 보지 않도록 하라
  If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.

37. 깨어 있으라 내가 너희에게 하는 이 말이 모든 사람에게 하는 말이니라 하시니라
  What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'"
