민수기 8

1. 여호와께서 또 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses,

2. 아론에게 고하여 이르라 등을 켤 때에는 일곱 등잔을 등대 앞으로 비취게 할찌니라 하시매
  "Speak to Aaron and say to him, 'When you set up the seven lamps, they are to light the area in front of the lampstand.'"

3. 아론이 그리하여 등불을 등대 앞으로 비취도록 켰으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았더라
  Aaron did so; he set up the lamps so that they faced forward on the lampstand, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

4. 이 등대의 제도는 이러하니 곧 금을 쳐서 만든 것인데 밑판에서 그 꽃까지 쳐서 만든 것이라 모세가 여호와께서 자기에게 보이신 식양을 따라 이 등대를 만들었더라
  This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold--from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the LORD had shown Moses.

5. 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses:

6. 이스라엘 자손 중에서 레위인을 취하여 정결케 하라
  "Take the Levites from among the other Israelites and make them ceremonially clean.

7. 너는 이같이 하여 그들을 정결케 하되 곧 속죄의 물로 그들에게 뿌리고 그들로 그 전신을 삭도로 밀게 하고 그 의복을 빨게 하여 몸을 정결케 하고
  To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes, and so purify themselves.

8. 또 그들로 수송아지 하나를 번제물로, 기름 섞은 고운 가루를 그 소제물로 취하게 하고 그 외에 너는 또 수송아지 하나를 속죄제물로 취하고
  Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil; then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.

9. 레위인을 회막 앞에 나오게 하고 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중을 모으고
  Bring the Levites to the front of the Tent of Meeting and assemble the whole Israelite community.

10. 레위인을 여호와 앞에 나오게 하고 이스라엘 자손으로 그들에게 안수케 한 후에
  You are to bring the Levites before the LORD, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on them.

11. 아론이 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 레위인을 요제로 여호와 앞에 드릴찌니 이는 그들로 여호와를 봉사케 하기 위함이라
  Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the LORD.

12. 레위인으로 수송아지들의 머리에 안수케 하고 네가 그 하나는 속죄제물로, 하나는 번제물로 여호와께 드려 레위인을 속죄하고
  "After the Levites lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, use the one for a sin offering to the LORD and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites.

13. 레위인을 아론과 그 아들들 앞에 세워 여호와께 요제로 드릴찌니라
  Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering to the LORD.

14. 너는 이같이 이스라엘 자손 중에서 레위인을 구별하라 그리하면 그들이 내게 속할 것이라
  In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.

15. 네가 그들을 정결케 하여 요제로 드린 후에 그들이 회막에 들어가서 봉사할 것이니라
  "After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the Tent of Meeting.

16. 그들은 이스라엘 자손 중에서 내게 온전히 드린 바 된 자라 이스라엘 자손 중 일절 초태생 곧 모든 처음 난 자의 대신으로 내가 그들을 취하였나니
  They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman.

17. 이스라엘 자손 중에 처음 난 것은 사람이든지 짐승이든지 다 내게 속하였음은 내가 애굽 땅에서 그 모든 처음 난 자를 치던 날에 내가 그들을 내게 구별하였음이라
  Every firstborn male in Israel, whether man or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself.

18. 이러므로 내가 이스라엘 자손 중 모든 처음 난 자의 대신으로 레위인을 취하였느니라
  And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel.

19. 내가 이스라엘 자손 중에서 레위인을 취하여 그들을 아론과 그 아들들에게 선물로 주어서 그들로 회막에서 이스라엘 자손을 대신하여 봉사하게 하며 또 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 속죄하게 하였나니 이는 이스라엘 자손이 성소에 가까이 할 때에 그들 중에 재앙이 없게 하려 하였음이니라
  Of all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the Tent of Meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary."

20. 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 여호와께서 레위인에게 대하여 모세에게 명하신 것을 다 좇아 레위인에게 행하였으되 곧 이스라엘 자손이 그와 같이 그들에게 행하였더라
  Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses.

21. 레위인이 이에 죄에서 스스로 깨끗케 하고 그 옷을 빨매 아론이 그들을 여호와 앞에 요제로 드리고 그가 또 그들을 위하여 속죄하여 정결케 한
  The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD and made atonement for them to purify them.

22. 후에 레위인이 회막에 들어가서 아론과 그 아들들의 앞에서 봉사하니라 여호와께서 레위인의 일에 대하여 모세에게 명하신 것을 좇아 그와 같이 그들에게 행하였더라
  After that, the Levites came to do their work at the Tent of Meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the LORD commanded Moses.

23. 여호와께서 또 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses,

24. 레위인은 이같이 할찌니 곧 이십 오세 이상으로는 회막에 들어와서 봉사하여 일할 것이요
  "This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the Tent of Meeting,

25. 오십 세부터는 그 일을 쉬어 봉사하지 아니할 것이나
  but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer.

26. 그 형제와 함께 회막에서 모시는 직무를 지킬 것이요 일하지 아 니할 것이라 너는 레위인의 직무에 대하여 이같이 할찌니라
  They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the Tent of Meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites."

시편 44

1. 하나님이여 주께서 우리 열조의 날 곧 옛날에 행하신 일을 저희가 우리에게 이르매 우리 귀로 들었나이다
  For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago.

2. 주께서 주의 손으로 열방을 쫓으시고 열조를 심으시며 주께서 민족들은 괴롭게 하시고 열조는 번성케 하셨나이다
  With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our fathers; you crushed the peoples and made our fathers flourish.

3. 저희가 자기 칼로 땅을 얻어 차지함이 아니요 저희 팔이 저희를 구원함도 아니라 오직 주의 오른손과 팔과 얼굴의 빛으로 하셨으니 주께서 저희를 기뻐하신 연고니이다
  It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.

4. 하나님이여 주는 나의 왕이시니 야곱에게 구원을 베푸소서
  You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob.

5. 우리가 주를 의지하여 우리 대적을 누르고 우리를 치려 일어나는 자를 주의 이름으로 밟으리이다
  Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes.

6. 나는 내 활을 의지하지 아니할 것이라 내 칼도 나를 구원치 못하리이다
  I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory;

7. 오직 주께서 우리를 우리 대적에게서 구원하시고 우리를 미워하는 자로 수치를 당케 하셨나이다
  but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.

8. 우리가 종일 하나님으로 자랑하였나이다 우리가 하나님의 이름을 영영히 감사하리이다 (셀라)
  In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. Selah

9. 그러나 이제는 주께서 우리를 버려 욕을 당케 하시고 우리 군대와 함께 나아가지 아니하시나이다
  But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies.

10. 주께서 우리를 대적에게서 돌아서게 하시니 우리를 미워하는 자가 자기를 위하여 탈취하였나이다
  You made us retreat before the enemy, and our adversaries have plundered us.

11. 주께서 우리로 먹힐 양 같게 하시고 열방 중에 흩으셨나이다
  You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations.

12. 주께서 주의 백성을 무료로 파심이여 저희 값으로 이익을 얻지 못하셨나이다
  You sold your people for a pittance, gaining nothing from their sale.

13. 주께서 우리로 이웃에게 욕을 당케 하시니 둘러 있는 자가 조소하고 조롱하나이다
  You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us.

14. 주께서 우리로 열방 중에 말거리가 되게 하시며 민족 중에서 머리 흔듦을 당케 하셨나이다
  You have made us a byword among the nations; the peoples shake their heads at us.

15. 나의 능욕이 종일 내 앞에 있으며 수치가 내 얼굴을 덮었으니
  My disgrace is before me all day long, and my face is covered with shame

16. 나를 비방하고 후욕하는 소리를 인함이요 나의 원수와 보수자의 연고니이다
  at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.

17. 이 모든 일이 우리에게 임하였으나 우리가 주를 잊지 아니하며 주의 언약을 어기지 아니하였나이다
  All this happened to us, though we had not forgotten you or been false to your covenant.

18. 우리 마음이 퇴축지 아니하고 우리 걸음도 주의 길을 떠나지 아니하였으나
  Our hearts had not turned back; our feet had not strayed from your path.

19. 주께서 우리를 시랑의 처소에서 심히 상해하시고 우리를 사망의 그늘로 덮으셨나이다
  But you crushed us and made us a haunt for jackals and covered us over with deep darkness.

20. 우리가 우리 하나님의 이름을 잊어버렸거나 우리 손을 이방 신에게 향하여 폈더면
  If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god,

21. 하나님이 이를 더듬어 내지 아니하셨으리이까 대저 주는 마음의 비밀을 아시나이다
  would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?

22. 우리가 종일 주를 위하여 죽임을 당케 되며 도살할 양같이 여김을 받았나이다
  Yet for your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

23. 주여 깨소서 어찌하여 주무시나이까 일어나시고 우리를 영영히 버리지 마소서
  Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever.

24. 어찌하여 주의 얼굴을 가리우시고 우리 고난과 압제를 잊으시나이까
  Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression?

25. 우리 영혼은 진토에 구푸리고 우리 몸은 땅에 붙었나이다
  We are brought down to the dust; our bodies cling to the ground.

26. 일어나 우리를 도우소서 주의 인자하심을 인하여 우리를 구속하소서
  Rise up and help us; redeem us because of your unfailing love.

■ 혼자 읽기

아가 6

1. 여자 중 극히 어여쁜 자야 너의 사랑하는 자가 어디로 갔는가 너의 사랑하는 자가 어디로 돌이켰는가 우리가 너와 함께 찾으리라
  Where has your lover gone, most beautiful of women? Which way did your lover turn, that we may look for him with you?

2. 나의 사랑하는 자가 자기 동산으로 내려가 향기로운 꽃밭에 이르러서 동산 가운데서 양 떼를 먹이며 백합화를 꺾는구나
  My lover has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices, to browse in the gardens and to gather lilies.

3. 나는 나의 사랑하는 자에게 속하였고 나의 사랑하는 자는 내게 속하였다 그가 백합화 가운데서 그 양 떼를 먹이는구나
  I am my lover's and my lover is mine; he browses among the lilies.

4. 내 사랑아 너의 어여쁨이 디르사 같고 너의 고움이 예루살렘 같고 엄위함이 기치를 벌인 군대 같구나
  You are beautiful, my darling, as Tirzah, lovely as Jerusalem, majestic as troops with banners.

5. 네 눈이 나를 놀래니 돌이켜 나를 보지 말라 네 머리털은 길르앗 산 기슭에 누운 염소 떼 같고
  Turn your eyes from me; they overwhelm me. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Gilead.

6. 네 이는 목욕장에서 나온 암양 떼 곧 새끼 없는 것은 하나도 없이 각각 쌍태를 낳은 양 같고
  Your teeth are like a flock of sheep coming up from the washing. Each has its twin, not one of them is alone.

7. 너울 속의 너의 뺨은 석류 한 쪽 같구나
  Your temples behind your veil are like the halves of a pomegranate.

8. 왕후가 육십이요 비빈이 팔십이요 시녀가 무수하되
  Sixty queens there may be, and eighty concubines, and virgins beyond number;

9. 나의 비둘기, 나의 완전한 자는 하나뿐이로구나 그는 그 어미의 외딸이요 그 낳은 자의 귀중히 여기는 자로구나 여자들이 그를 보고 복된 자라 하고 왕후와 비빈들도 그를 칭찬하는구나
  but my dove, my perfect one, is unique, the only daughter of her mother, the favorite of the one who bore her. The maidens saw her and called her blessed; the queens and concubines praised her.

10. 아침 빛같이 뚜렷하고 달같이 아름답고 해같이 맑고 기치를 벌인 군대같이 엄위한 여자가 누구인가
  Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?

11. 골짜기의 푸른 초목을 보려고 포도나무가 순이 났는가 석류나무가 꽃이 피었는가 알려고 내가 호도 동산으로 내려갔을 때에
  I went down to the grove of nut trees to look at the new growth in the valley, to see if the vines had budded or the pomegranates were in bloom.

12. 부지중에 내 마음이 나로 내 귀한 백성의 수레 가운데 이르게 하였구나
  Before I realized it, my desire set me among the royal chariots of my people.

13. 돌아오고 돌아오라 술람미 여자야 돌아오고 돌아오라 우리로 너를 보게 하라
  Come back, come back, O Shulammite; come back, come back, that we may gaze on you! Why would you gaze on the Shulammite as on the dance of Mahanaim?

14. 너희가 어찌하여 마하나임의 춤추는 것을 보는 것처럼 술람미 여자를 보려느냐  

히브리서 6

1. 그러므로 우리가 그리스도 도의 초보를 버리고 죽은 행실을 회개함과 하나님께 대한 신앙과
  Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,

2. 세례들과 안수와 죽은 자의 부활과 영원한 심판에 관한 교훈의 터를 다시 닦지 말고 완전한데 나아갈찌니라
  instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

3. 하나님께서 허락하시면 우리가 이것을 하리라
  And God permitting, we will do so.

4. 한번 비췸을 얻고 하늘의 은사를 맛보고 성령에 참예한 바 되고
  It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,

5. 하나님의 선한 말씀과 내세의 능력을 맛보고
  who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age,

6. 타락한 자들은 다시 새롭게 하여 회개케 할 수 없나니 이는 자기가 하나님의 아들을 다시 십자가에 못 박아 현저히 욕을 보임이라
  if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

7. 땅이 그 위에 자주 내리는 비를 흡수하여 밭 가는 자들의 쓰기에 합당한 채소를 내면 하나님께 복을 받고
  Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.

8. 만일 가시와 엉겅퀴를 내면 버림을 당하고 저주함에 가까와 그 마지막은 불사름이 되리라
  But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.

9. 사랑하는 자들아 우리가 이같이 말하나 너희에게는 이보다 나은 것과 구원에 가까운 것을 확신하노라
  Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case--things that accompany salvation.

10. 하나님이 불의치 아니하사 너희 행위와 그의 이름을 위하여 나타낸 사랑으로 이미 성도를 섬긴 것과 이제도 섬기는 것을 잊어버리지 아니하시느니라
  God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

11. 우리가 간절히 원하는 것은 너희 각 사람이 동일한 부지런을 나타내어 끝까지 소망의 풍성함에 이르러
  We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.

12. 게으르지 아니하고 믿음과 오래 참음으로 말미암아 약속들을 기업으로 받는 자들을 본받는 자 되게 하려는 것이니라
  We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

13. 하나님이 아브라함에게 약속하실 때에 가리켜 맹세할 자가 자기보다 더 큰 이가 없으므로 자기를 가리켜 맹세하여
  When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

14. 가라사대 내가 반드시 너를 복 주고 복 주며 너를 번성케 하고 번성케 하리라 하셨더니
  saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants."

15. 저가 이같이 오래 참아 약속을 받았느니라
  And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

16. 사람들은 자기보다 더 큰 자를 가리켜 맹세하나니 맹세는 저희 모든 다투는 일에 최후 확정이니라
  Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.

17. 하나님은 약속을 기업으로 받는 자들에게 그 뜻이 변치 아니함을 충분히 나타내시려고 그 일에 맹세로 보증하셨나니
  Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.

18. 이는 하나님이 거짓말을 하실 수 없는 이 두 가지 변치 못할 사실을 인하여 앞에 있는 소망을 얻으려고 피하여 가는 우리로 큰 안위를 받게 하려 하심이라
  God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.

19. 우리가 이 소망이 있는 것은 영혼의 닻 같아서 튼튼하고 견고하여 휘장 안에 들어가나니
  We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

20. 그리로 앞서 가신 예수께서 멜기세덱의 반차를 좇아 영원히 대제사장이 되어 우리를 위하여 들어가셨느니라
  where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
