레위기 13

1. 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

2. 사람의 피부에 무엇이 돋거나 딱지가 앉거나 색점이 생겨서 그 피부에 문둥병같이 되거든 곧 제사장 아론에게나 그 자손 중 한 제사장에게로 데리고 갈 것이요
  "When anyone has a swelling or a rash or a bright spot on his skin that may become an infectious skin disease, he must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons who is a priest.

3. 제사장은 그 피부의 병을 진찰할찌니 환처의 털이 희어졌고 환처가 피부보다 우묵하여졌으면 이는 문둥병의 환처라 제사장이 진단하여 그를 부정하다 할 것이요
  The priest is to examine the sore on his skin, and if the hair in the sore has turned white and the sore appears to be more than skin deep, it is an infectious skin disease. When the priest examines him, he shall pronounce him ceremonially unclean.

4. 피부에 색점이 희나 우묵하지 아니하고 그 털이 희지 아니하면 제사장은 그 환자를 칠 일 동안 금고할 것이며
  If the spot on his skin is white but does not appear to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest is to put the infected person in isolation for seven days.

5. 칠일만에 제사장이 그를 진찰할찌니 그의 보기에 그 환처가 변하지 아니하고 병색이 피부에 퍼지지 아니하였으면 제사장이 그를 또 칠일 동안을 금고할 것이며
  On the seventh day the priest is to examine him, and if he sees that the sore is unchanged and has not spread in the skin, he is to keep him in isolation another seven days.

6. 칠일만에 제사장이 또 진찰할찌니 그 환처가 엷어졌고 병색이 피부에 퍼지지 아니하였으면 피부병이라 제사장이 그를 정하다 할 것이요 그는 옷을 빨 것이라 그리하면 정하리라
  On the seventh day the priest is to examine him again, and if the sore has faded and has not spread in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; it is only a rash. The man must wash his clothes, and he will be clean.

7. 그러나 정결한 여부를 위하여 제사장에게 보인 후에 병이 피부에 퍼지면 제사장에게 다시 보일 것이요
  But if the rash does spread in his skin after he has shown himself to the priest to be pronounced clean, he must appear before the priest again.

8. 제사장은 진찰할찌니 그 병이 피부에 퍼졌으면 그를 부정하다 진단할 것이라 이는 문둥병임이니라
  The priest is to examine him, and if the rash has spread in the skin, he shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infectious disease.

9. 사람에게 문둥병이 들었거든 그를 제사장에게로 데려갈 것이요
  "When anyone has an infectious skin disease, he must be brought to the priest.

10. 제사장은 진찰할찌니 피부에 흰 점이 돋고 털이 희어지고 거기 난육이 생겼으면
  The priest is to examine him, and if there is a white swelling in the skin that has turned the hair white and if there is raw flesh in the swelling,

11. 이는 그의 피부의 오랜 문둥병이라 제사장이 부정하다 진단할 것이요 그가 이미 부정하였은즉 금고하지는 않을 것이며
  it is a chronic skin disease and the priest shall pronounce him unclean. He is not to put him in isolation, because he is already unclean.

12. 제사장의 보기에 문둥병이 그 피부에 크게 발하였으되 그 환자의 머리부터 발까지 퍼졌거든
  "If the disease breaks out all over his skin and, so far as the priest can see, it covers all the skin of the infected person from head to foot,

13. 그가 진찰할 것이요 문둥병이 과연 그 전신에 퍼졌으면 그 환자를 정하다 할찌니 다 희어진 자인즉 정하거니와
  the priest is to examine him, and if the disease has covered his whole body, he shall pronounce that person clean. Since it has all turned white, he is clean.

14. 아무 때든지 그에게 난육이 발생하면 그는 부정한즉
  But whenever raw flesh appears on him, he will be unclean.

15. 제사장이 난육을 보고 그를 부정하다 진단할찌니 그 난육은 부정한 것인즉 이는 문둥병이며
  When the priest sees the raw flesh, he shall pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean; he has an infectious disease.

16. 그 난육이 변하여 다시 희어지면 제사장에게로 갈 것이요
  Should the raw flesh change and turn white, he must go to the priest.

17. 제사장은 그를 진찰하여서 그 환처가 희어졌으면 환자를 정하다 할찌니 그는 정하니라
  The priest is to examine him, and if the sores have turned white, the priest shall pronounce the infected person clean; then he will be clean.

18. 피부에 종기가 생겼다가 나았고
  "When someone has a boil on his skin and it heals,

19. 그 종처에 흰 점이 돋거나 희고 불그스름한 색점이 생겼으면 제사장에게 보일 것이요
  and in the place where the boil was, a white swelling or reddish-white spot appears, he must present himself to the priest.

20. 그는 진찰하여 피부보다 얕고 그 털이 희면 그를 부정하다 진단할찌니 이는 종기로 된 문둥병의 환처임이니라
  The priest is to examine it, and if it appears to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is an infectious skin disease that has broken out where the boil was.

21. 그러나 제사장의 보기에 거기 흰 털이 없고 피부보다 얕지 아니하고 빛이 엷으면 제사장은 그를 칠 일 동안 금고할 것이며
  But if, when the priest examines it, there is no white hair in it and it is not more than skin deep and has faded, then the priest is to put him in isolation for seven days.

22. 그 병이 크게 피부에 퍼졌으면 제사장은 그를 부정하다 진단할찌니 이는 그 환처임이니라
  If it is spreading in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is infectious.

23. 그러나 그 색점이 여전하고 퍼지지 아니하였으면 이는 종기 흔적이니 제사장은 그를 정하다 진단할찌니라
  But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread, it is only a scar from the boil, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

24. 피부를 불에 데었는데 그 덴 곳에 불그스름하고 희거나 순전히 흰 색점이 생기면
  "When someone has a burn on his skin and a reddish-white or white spot appears in the raw flesh of the burn,

25. 제사장은 진찰할찌니 그 색점의 털이 희고 그 자리가 피부보다 우묵하면 이는 화상에서 발한 문둥병인즉 제사장은 그를 부정하다 할것은 문둥병의 환처가 됨이니라
  the priest is to examine the spot, and if the hair in it has turned white, and it appears to be more than skin deep, it is an infectious disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infectious skin disease.

26. 그러나 제사장의 보기에 그 색점에 흰 털이 없으며 그 자리가 피부보다 얕지 아니하고 빛이 엷으면 그는 그를 칠 일 동안 금고할 것이며
  But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in the spot and if it is not more than skin deep and has faded, then the priest is to put him in isolation for seven days.

27. 칠일만에 제사장이 그를 진찰할찌니 만일 병이 크게 피부에 퍼졌으면 그는 그를 부정하다 진단할 것은 문둥병의 환처임이니라
  On the seventh day the priest is to examine him, and if it is spreading in the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is an infectious skin disease.

28. 만일 색점이 여전하여 피부에 퍼지지 아니하고 빛이 엷으면 화상으로 부은 것이니 제사장은 그를 정하다 할 것은 이는 화상의 흔적임이니라
  If, however, the spot is unchanged and has not spread in the skin but has faded, it is a swelling from the burn, and the priest shall pronounce him clean; it is only a scar from the burn.

29. 남자나 여자의 머리에나 수염에 환처가 있으면
  "If a man or woman has a sore on the head or on the chin,

30. 제사장은 진찰할찌니 환처가 피부보다 우묵하고 그 자리에 누르고 가는 털이 있으면 그는 그를 부정하다 할 것은 이는 옴이라 머리에나 수염에 발한 문둥병임이니라
  the priest is to examine the sore, and if it appears to be more than skin deep and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest shall pronounce that person unclean; it is an itch, an infectious disease of the head or chin.

31. 만일 제사장의 보기에 그 옴의 환처가 피부보다 우묵하지 아니하고 그 자리에 검은 털이 없으면 제사장은 그 옴 환자를 칠 일 동안 금고할 것이며
  But if, when the priest examines this kind of sore, it does not seem to be more than skin deep and there is no black hair in it, then the priest is to put the infected person in isolation for seven days.

32. 칠일만에 제사장은 그 환처를 진찰할찌니 그 옴이 퍼지지 아니하고 그 자리에 누른 털이 없고 피부보다 우묵하지 아니하거든
  On the seventh day the priest is to examine the sore, and if the itch has not spread and there is no yellow hair in it and it does not appear to be more than skin deep,

33. 그는 모발을 밀되 환처는 밀지 말 것이요 제사장은 옴 환자를 또 칠 일 동안 금고할 것이며
  he must be shaved except for the diseased area, and the priest is to keep him in isolation another seven days.

34. 칠일만에 제사장은 그 옴을 또 진찰할찌니 그 옴이 피부에 퍼지지 아니하고 피부보다 우묵하지 아니하면 그는 그를 정하다 진단할 것이요 그는 그 옷을 빨찌니 정하려니와
  On the seventh day the priest is to examine the itch, and if it has not spread in the skin and appears to be no more than skin deep, the priest shall pronounce him clean. He must wash his clothes, and he will be clean.

35. 깨끗한 후에라도 옴이 크게 피부에 퍼지면
  But if the itch does spread in the skin after he is pronounced clean,

36. 제사장은 그를 진찰할찌니 과연 옴이 피부에 퍼졌으면 누른 털을 찾을 것 없이 그는 부정하니라
  the priest is to examine him, and if the itch has spread in the skin, the priest does not need to look for yellow hair; the person is unclean.

37. 그러나 제사장의 보기에 옴이 여전하고 그 자리에 검은 털이 났으면 그 옴은 나았고 그 사람은 정하니 제사장은 그를 정하다 진단할찌니라
  If, however, in his judgment it is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, the itch is healed. He is clean, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

38. 남자나 여자의 피부에 색점 곧 흰 색점이 있으면
  "When a man or woman has white spots on the skin,

39. 제사장은 진찰할찌니 그 피부의 색점이 부유스름하면 이는 피부에 발한 어루러기라 그는 정하니라
  the priest is to examine them, and if the spots are dull white, it is a harmless rash that has broken out on the skin; that person is clean.

40. 누구든지 그 머리털이 빠지면 그는 대머리니 정하고
  "When a man has lost his hair and is bald, he is clean.

41. 앞머리가 빠져도 그는 이마 대머리니 정하니라
  If he has lost his hair from the front of his scalp and has a bald forehead, he is clean.

42. 그러나 대머리나 이마 대머리에 희고 불그스름한 색점이 있으면 이는 문둥병이 대머리에나 이마 대머리에 발함이라
  But if he has a reddish-white sore on his bald head or forehead, it is an infectious disease breaking out on his head or forehead.

43. 제사장은 그를 진찰할찌니 그 대머리에나 이마 대머리에 돋은 색점이 희고 불그스름하여 피부에 발한 문둥병과 같으면
  The priest is to examine him, and if the swollen sore on his head or forehead is reddish-white like an infectious skin disease,

44. 이는 문둥 환자라 부정하니 제사장은 그를 부정하다 확실히 진단할 것은 그 환처가 그 머리에 있음이니라
  the man is diseased and is unclean. The priest shall pronounce him unclean because of the sore on his head.

45. 문둥 환자는 옷을 찢고 머리를 풀며 윗입술을 가리우고 외치기를 부정하다 부정하다 할 것이요
  "The person with such an infectious disease must wear torn clothes, let his hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of his face and cry out, 'Unclean! Unclean!'

46. 병 있는 날 동안은 늘 부정할 것이라 그가 부정한즉 혼자 살되 진 밖에 살찌니라
  As long as he has the infection he remains unclean. He must live alone; he must live outside the camp.

47. 만일 의복에 문둥병 색점이 발하여 털옷에나 베옷에나
  "If any clothing is contaminated with mildew--any woolen or linen clothing,

48. 베나 털의 날에나 씨에나 혹 가죽에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 있되
  any woven or knitted material of linen or wool, any leather or anything made of leather--

49. 그 의복에나 가죽에나 그 날에나 씨에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 병색이 푸르거나 붉으면 이는 문둥병의 색점이라 제사장에게 보일 것이요
  and if the contamination in the clothing, or leather, or woven or knitted material, or any leather article, is greenish or reddish, it is a spreading mildew and must be shown to the priest.

50. 제사장은 그 색점을 살피고 그것을 칠 일 동안 간직하였다가
  The priest is to examine the mildew and isolate the affected article for seven days.

51. 칠일만에 그 색점을 살필찌니 그 색점이 그 의복의 날에나 씨에나 가죽에나 가죽으로 만든 것에 퍼졌으면 이는 악성 문둥병이라 그것이 부정하니
  On the seventh day he is to examine it, and if the mildew has spread in the clothing, or the woven or knitted material, or the leather, whatever its use, it is a destructive mildew; the article is unclean.

52. 그는 그 색점 있는 의복이나 털이나 베의 날이나 씨나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것을 불사를찌니 이는 악성 문둥병인즉 그것을 불사를찌니라
  He must burn up the clothing, or the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or any leather article that has the contamination in it, because the mildew is destructive; the article must be burned up.

53. 그러나 제사장의 보기에 그 색점이 그 의복의 날에나 씨에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 퍼지지 아니하였으면
  "But if, when the priest examines it, the mildew has not spread in the clothing, or the woven or knitted material, or the leather article,

54. 제사장은 명하여 그 색점 있는 것을 빨게 하고 또 칠 일 동안 간직하였다가
  he shall order that the contaminated article be washed. Then he is to isolate it for another seven days.

55. 그 빤 곳을 볼찌니 그 색점의 빛이 변치 아니하고 그 색점이 퍼지지 아니하였으면 부정하니 너는 그것을 불사르라 이는 거죽에 있든지 속에 있든지 악성 문둥병이니라
  After the affected article has been washed, the priest is to examine it, and if the mildew has not changed its appearance, even though it has not spread, it is unclean. Burn it with fire, whether the mildew has affected one side or the other.

56. 빤 후에 제사장의 보기에 그 색점이 엷으면 그 의복에서나 가죽에서나 그 날에서나 씨에서나 그 색점을 찢어 버릴 것이요
  If, when the priest examines it, the mildew has faded after the article has been washed, he is to tear the contaminated part out of the clothing, or the leather, or the woven or knitted material.

57. 그 의복의 날에나 씨에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 색점이 여전히 보이면 복발하는 것이니 너는 그 색점 있는 것을 불사를찌니라
  But if it reappears in the clothing, or in the woven or knitted material, or in the leather article, it is spreading, and whatever has the mildew must be burned with fire.

58. 네가 빤 의복의 날에나 씨에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 그 색점이 벗어졌으면 그것을 다시 빨아야 정하리라
  The clothing, or the woven or knitted material, or any leather article that has been washed and is rid of the mildew, must be washed again, and it will be clean."

59. 이는 털옷에나 베옷에나 그 날에나 씨에나 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것에 발한 문둥병 색점의 정하고 부정한 것을 단정하는 규례니라
  These are the regulations concerning contamination by mildew in woolen or linen clothing, woven or knitted material, or any leather article, for pronouncing them clean or unclean.

시편 15-16

1. 여호와여 주의 장막에 유할 자 누구오며 주의 성산에 거할 자 누구오니이까
  A psalm of David. LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?

2. 정직하게 행하며 공의를 일삼으며 그 마음에 진실을 말하며
  He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart

3. 그 혀로 참소치 아니하고 그 벗에게 행악지 아니하며 그 이웃을 훼방치 아니하며
  and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4. 그 눈은 망령된 자를 멸시하며 여호와를 두려워하는 자를 존대하며 그 마음에 서원한 것은 해로울찌라도 변치 아니하며
  who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts,

5. 변리로 대금치 아니하며 뇌물을 받고 무죄한 자를 해치 아니하는 자니 이런 일을 행하는 자는 영영히 요동치 아니하리이다
  who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.

1. 하나님이여 나를 보호하소서 내가 주께 피하나이다
  A miktam of David. Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.

2. 내가 여호와께 아뢰되 주는 나의 주시오니 주밖에는 나의 복이 없다 하였나이다
  I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."

3. 땅에 있는 성도는 존귀한 자니 나의 모든 즐거움이 저희에게 있도다
  As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.

4. 다른 신에게 예물을 드리는 자는 괴로움이 더할 것이라 나는 저희가 드리는 피의 전제를 드리지 아니하며 내 입술로 그 이름도 부르지 아니하리로다
  The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.

5. 여호와는 나의 산업과 나의 잔의 소득이시니 나의 분깃을 지키시나이다
  LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.

6. 내게 줄로 재어 준 구역은 아름다운 곳에 있음이여 나의 기업이 실로 아름답도다
  The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

7. 나를 훈계하신 여호와를 송축할찌라 밤마다 내 심장이 나를 교훈하도다
  I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.

8. 내가 여호와를 항상 내 앞에 모심이여 그가 내 우편에 계시므로 내가 요동치 아니하리로다
  I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9. 이러므로 내 마음이 기쁘고 내 영광도 즐거워하며 내 육체도 안전히 거하리니
  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,

10. 이는 내 영혼을 음부에 버리지 아니하시며 주의 거룩한 자로 썩지 않게 하실 것임이니이다
  because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

11. 주께서 생명의 길로 내게 보이시리니 주의 앞에는 기쁨이 충만하고 주의 우편에는 영원한 즐거움이 있나이다
  You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

잠언 27

1. 너는 내일 일을 자랑하지 말라 하루 동안에 무슨 일이 날는지 네가 알 수 없음이니라
  Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

2. 타인으로 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입으로는 말며 외인으로 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입술로는 말찌니라
  Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips.

3. 돌은 무겁고 모래도 가볍지 아니하거니와 미련한 자의 분노는 이 둘보다 무거우니라
  Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but provocation by a fool is heavier than both.

4. 분은 잔인하고 노는 창수 같거니와 투기 앞에야 누가 서리요
  Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?

5. 면책은 숨은 사랑보다 나으니라
  Better is open rebuke than hidden love.

6. 친구의 통책은 충성에서 말미암은 것이나 원수의 자주 입맞춤은 거짓에서 난 것이니라
  Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

7. 배부른 자는 꿀이라도 싫어하고 주린 자에게는 쓴 것이라도 다니라
  He who is full loathes honey, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.

8. 본향을 떠나 유리하는 사람은 보금자리를 떠나 떠도는 새와 같으니라
  Like a bird that strays from its nest is a man who strays from his home.

9. 기름과 향이 사람의 마음을 즐겁게 하나니 친구의 충성된 권고가 이와 같이 아름다우니라
  Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one's friend springs from his earnest counsel.

10. 네 친구와 네 아비의 친구를 버리지 말며 네 환난날에 형제의 집에 들어가지 말찌어다 가까운 이웃이 먼 형제보다 나으니라
  Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother's house when disaster strikes you--better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.

11. 내 아들아 지혜를 얻고 내 마음을 기쁘게 하라 그리하면 나를 비방하는 자에게 내가 대답할 수 있겠노라
  Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.

12. 슬기로운 자는 재앙을 보면 숨어 피하여도 어리석은 자들은 나아가다가 해를 받느니라
  The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.

13. 타인을 위하여 보증이 된 자의 옷을 취하라 외인들의 보증이 된 자는 그 몸을 볼모잡힐찌니라
  Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if he does it for a wayward woman.

14. 이른 아침에 큰 소리로 그 이웃을 축복하면 도리어 저주같이 여기게 되리라
  If a man loudly blesses his neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse.

15. 다투는 부녀는 비 오는 날에 이어 떨어지는 물방울이라
  A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day;

16. 그를 제어하기가 바람을 제어하는 것 같고 오른손으로 기름을 움키는 것 같으니라
  restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand.

17. 철이 철을 날카롭게 하는 것같이 사람이 그 친구의 얼굴을 빛나게 하느니라
  As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

18. 무화과나무를 지키는 자는 그 과실을 먹고 자기 주인을 시종하는 자는 영화를 얻느니라
  He who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who looks after his master will be honored.

19. 물에 비취이면 얼굴이 서로 같은 것같이 사람의 마음도 서로 비취느니라
  As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man.

20. 음부와 유명은 만족함이 없고 사람의 눈도 만족함이 없느니라
  Death and Destruction are never satisfied, and neither are the eyes of man.

21. 도가니로 은을, 풀무로 금을, 칭찬으로 사람을 시련하느니라
  The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by the praise he receives.

22. 미련한 자를 곡물과 함께 절구에 넣고 공이로 찧을찌라도 그의 미련은 벗어지지 아니하느니라
  Though you grind a fool in a mortar, grinding him like grain with a pestle, you will not remove his folly from him.

23. 네 양 떼의 형편을 부지런히 살피며 네 소 떼에 마음을 두라
  Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds;

24. 대저 재물은 영영히 있지 못하나니 면류관이 어찌 대대에 있으랴
  for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.

25. 풀을 벤 후에는 새로 움이 돋나니 산에서 꼴을 거둘 것이니라
  When the hay is removed and new growth appears and the grass from the hills is gathered in,

26. 어린 양의 털은 네 옷이 되며 염소는 밭을 사는 값이 되며
  the lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field.

27. 염소의 젖은 넉넉하여 너와 네 집 사람의 식물이 되며 네 여종의 먹을 것이 되느니라
  You will have plenty of goats' milk to feed you and your family and to nourish your servant girls.

데살로니가후서 1

1. 바울과 실루아노와 디모데는 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 데살로니가인의 교회에 편지하노니
  Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2. 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있을찌어다
  Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. 형제들아 우리가 너희를 위하여 항상 하나님께 감사할찌니 이것이 당연함은 너희 믿음이 더욱 자라고 너희가 다 각기 서로 사랑함이 풍성함이며
  We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

4. 그리고 너희의 참는 모든 핍박과 환난 중에서 너희 인내와 믿음을 인하여 하나님의 여러 교회에서 우리가 친히 자랑함이라
  Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.

5. 이는 하나님의 공의로운 심판의 표요 너희로 하여금 하나님 나라에 합당한 자로 여기심을 얻게 하려 함이니 그 나라를 위하여 너희가 또한 고난을 받느니라
  All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

6. 너희로 환난받게 하는 자들에게는 환난으로 갚으시고
  God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you

7. 환난받는 너희에게는 우리와 함께 안식으로 갚으시는 것이 하나님의 공의시니 주 예수께서 저의 능력의 천사들과 함께 하늘로부터 불꽃 중에 나타나실 때에
  and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.

8. 하나님을 모르는 자들과 우리 주 예수의 복음을 복종치 않는 자들에게 형벌을 주시리니
  He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

9. 이런 자들이 주의 얼굴과 그의 힘의 영광을 떠나 영원한 멸망의 형벌을 받으리로다
  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power

10. 그 날에 강림하사 그의 성도들에게서 영광을 얻으시고 모든 믿는 자에게서 기이히 여김을 얻으시리라 (우리의 증거가 너희에게 믿어졌음이라)
  on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

11. 이러므로 우리도 항상 너희를 위하여 기도함은 우리 하나님이 너희를 그 부르심에 합당한 자로 여기시고 모든 선을 기뻐함과 믿음의 역사를 능력으로 이루게 하시고
  With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.

12. 우리 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜대로 우리 주 예수의 이름이 너희 가운데서 영광을 얻으시고 너희도 그 안에서 영광을 얻게 하려 함이니라
  We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
