레위기 10

1. 아론의 아들 나답과 아비후가 각기 향로를 가져다가 여호와의 명하시지 않은 다른 불을 담아 여호와 앞에 분향하였더니
  Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, contrary to his command.

2. 불이 여호와 앞에서 나와 그들을 삼키매 그들이 여호와 앞에서 죽은지라
  So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD.

3. 모세가 아론에게 이르되 이는 여호와의 말씀이라 이르시기를 나는 나를 가까이 하는 자 중에 내가 거룩하다 함을 얻겠고 온 백성 앞에 내가 영광을 얻으리라 하셨느니라 아론이 잠잠하니
  Moses then said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke of when he said: "'Among those who approach me I will show myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.'" Aaron remained silent.

4. 모세가 아론의 아자비 웃시엘의 아들 미사엘과 엘사반을 불러 그들에게 이르되 나아와 너희 형제들을 성소 앞에서 진 밖으로 메어 가라 하매
  Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron's uncle Uzziel, and said to them, "Come here; carry your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary."

5. 그들이 나아와 모세의 명대로 그들을 옷 입은 채 진 밖으로 메어 내니
  So they came and carried them, still in their tunics, outside the camp, as Moses ordered.

6. 모세가 아론과 그 아들 엘르아살과 이다말에게 이르되 너희는 머리를 풀거나 옷을 찢지 말아서 너희 죽음을 면하고 여호와의 진노가 온 회중에게 미침을 면케 하라 오직 너희 형제 이스라엘 온 족속이 여호와의 치신 불로 인하여 슬퍼할 것이니라
  Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, "Do not let your hair become unkempt, and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the LORD will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the house of Israel, may mourn for those the LORD has destroyed by fire.

7. 여호와의 관유가 너희에게 있은즉 너희는 회막문에 나가지 말아서 죽음을 면할찌니라 그들이 모세의 명대로 하니라
  Do not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting or you will die, because the LORD'S anointing oil is on you." So they did as Moses said.

8. 여호와께서 아론에게 일러 가라사대
  Then the LORD said to Aaron,

9. 너나 네 자손들이 회막에 들어갈 때에는 포도주나 독주를 마시지 말아서 너희 사망을 면하라 이는 너희 대대로 영영한 규례라
  "You and your sons are not to drink wine or other fermented drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.

10. 그리하여야 너희가 거룩하고 속된 것을 분별하며 부정하고 정한 것을 분별하고
  You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean,

11. 또 여호와가 모세로 명한 모든 규례를 이스라엘 자손에게 가르치리라
  and you must teach the Israelites all the decrees the LORD has given them through Moses."

12. 모세가 아론과 그 남은 아들 엘르아살에게와 이다말에게 이르되 여호와께 드린 화제 중 소제의 남은 것은 지극히 거룩하니 너희는 그것을 취하여 누룩을 넣지 말고 단 곁에서 먹되
  Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, "Take the grain offering left over from the offerings made to the LORD by fire and eat it prepared without yeast beside the altar, for it is most holy.

13. 이는 여호와의 화제 중 네 응식과 네 아들의 응식인즉 너희는 그것을 거룩한 곳에서 먹으라 내가 명령을 받았느니라
  Eat it in a holy place, because it is your share and your sons' share of the offerings made to the LORD by fire; for so I have been commanded.

14. 흔든 가슴과 든 뒷다리는 너와 네 자녀가 너와 함께 정결한 곳에서 먹을찌니 이는 이스라엘 자손의 화목제 희생 중에서 네 응식 과 네 자손의 응식으로 주신 것임이니라
  But you and your sons and your daughters may eat the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented. Eat them in a ceremonially clean place; they have been given to you and your children as your share of the Israelites' fellowship offerings.

15. 그 든 뒷다리와 흔든 가슴을 화제의 기름과 함께 가져다가 여호와 앞에 흔들어 요제를 삼을찌니 이는 여호와의 명령대로 너와 네 자손의 영원한 응식이니라
  The thigh that was presented and the breast that was waved must be brought with the fat portions of the offerings made by fire, to be waved before the LORD as a wave offering. This will be the regular share for you and your children, as the LORD has commanded."

16. 모세가 속죄제 드린 염소를 찾은즉 이미 불살랐는지라 그가 아론의 남은 아들 엘르아살과 이다말에게 노하여 가로되
  When Moses inquired about the goat of the sin offering and found that it had been burned up, he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's remaining sons, and asked,

17. 이 속죄제 희생은 지극히 거룩하거늘 너희가 어찌하여 거룩한 곳에서 먹지 아니하였느뇨 이는 너희로 회중의 죄를 담당하여 그들을 위하여 여호와 앞에 속하게 하려고 너희에게 주신 것이니라
  "Why didn't you eat the sin offering in the sanctuary area? It is most holy; it was given to you to take away the guilt of the community by making atonement for them before the LORD.

18. 그 피를 성소에 들여오지 아니하였으니 그 제육은 너희가 나의 명한 대로 거룩한 곳에서 먹었어야 할 것이니라
  Since its blood was not taken into the Holy Place, you should have eaten the goat in the sanctuary area, as I commanded."

19. 아론이 모세에게 이르되 오늘 그들이 그 속죄제와 번제를 여호와께 드렸어도 이런 일이 내게 임하였거늘 오늘 내가 속죄 제육을 먹었더면 여호와께서 어찌 선히 여기셨으리요
  Aaron replied to Moses, "Today they sacrificed their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD, but such things as this have happened to me. Would the LORD have been pleased if I had eaten the sin offering today?"

20. 모세가 그 말을 듣고 좋게 여겼더라
  When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.

시편 11-12

1. 내가 여호와께 피하였거늘 너희가 내 영혼더러 새같이 네 산으로 도망하라 함은 어찜인고
  For the director of music. Of David. In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain.

2. 악인이 활을 당기고 살을 시위에 먹임이여 마음이 바른 자를 어두운 데서 쏘려 하는도다
  For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

3. 터가 무너지면 의인이 무엇을 할꼬
  When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

4. 여호와께서 그 성전에 계시니 여호와의 보좌는 하늘에 있음이여 그 눈이 인생을 통촉하시고 그 안목이 저희를 감찰하시도다
  The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them.

5. 여호와는 의인을 감찰하시고 악인과 강포함을 좋아하는 자를 마음에 미워하시도다
  The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.

6. 악인에게 그물을 내려치시리니 불과 유황과 태우는 바람이 저희 잔의 소득이 되리로다
  On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

7. 여호와는 의로우사 의로운 일을 좋아하시나니 정직한 자는 그 얼굴을 뵈오리로다
  For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.

1. 여호와여 도우소서 경건한 자가 끊어지며 충실한 자가 인생 중에 없어지도소이다
  For the director of music. According to sheminith. A psalm of David. Help, LORD, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men.

2. 저희가 이웃에게 각기 거짓을 말함이여 아첨하는 입술과 두 마음으로 말하는도다
  Everyone lies to his neighbor; their flattering lips speak with deception.

3. 여호와께서 모든 아첨하는 입술과 자랑하는 혀를 끊으시리니
  May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue

4. 저희가 말하기를 우리의 혀로 이길찌라 우리 입술은 우리 것이니 우리를 주관할 자 누구리요 함이로다
  that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips--who is our master?"

5. 여호와의 말씀에 가련한 자의 눌림과 궁핍한 자의 탄식을 인하여 내가 이제 일어나 저를 그 원하는 안전 지대에 두리라 하시도다
  "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the LORD. "I will protect them from those who malign them."

6. 여호와의 말씀은 순결함이여 흙 도가니에 일곱 번 단련한 은 같도다
  And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.

7. 여호와여 저희를 지키사 이 세대로부터 영영토록 보존하시리이다
  O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever.

8. 비루함이 인생 중에 높아지는 때에 악인이 처처에 횡행하는도다
  The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.

■ 혼자 읽기

잠언 25

1. 이것도 솔로몬의 잠언이요 유다 왕 히스기야의 신하들의 편집한 것이니라
  These are more proverbs of Solomon, copied by the men of Hezekiah king of Judah:

2. 일을 숨기는 것은 하나님의 영화요 일을 살피는 것은 왕의 영화니라
  It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

3. 하늘의 높음과 땅의 깊음같이 왕의 마음은 헤아릴 수 없느니라
  As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.

4. 은에서 찌끼를 제하라 그리하면 장색의 쓸만한 그릇이 나올 것이요
  Remove the dross from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith;

5. 왕 앞에서 악한 자를 제하라 그리하면 그 위가 의로 말미암아 견고히 서리라
  remove the wicked from the king's presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.

6. 왕 앞에서 스스로 높은 체하지 말며 대인의 자리에 서지 말라
  Do not exalt yourself in the king's presence, and do not claim a place among great men;

7. 이는 사람이 너더러 이리로 올라오라 하는 것이 네 눈에 보이는 귀인 앞에서 저리로 내려가라 하는 것보다 나음이니라
  it is better for him to say to you, "Come up here," than for him to humiliate you before a nobleman. What you have seen with your eyes

8. 너는 급거히 나가서 다투지 말라 마침내 네가 이웃에게 욕을 보게 될 때에 네가 어찌 할 줄을 알지 못할까 두려우니라
  do not bring hastily to court, for what will you do in the end if your neighbor puts you to shame?

9. 너는 이웃과 다투거든 변론만 하고 남의 은밀한 일은 누설하지말라
  If you argue your case with a neighbor, do not betray another man's confidence,

10. 듣는 자가 너를 꾸짖을 터이요 또 수욕이 네게서 떠나지 아니할까 두려우니라
  or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation.

11. 경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은쟁반에 금사과니라
  A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

12. 슬기로운 자의 책망은 청종하는 귀에 금고리와 정금 장식이니라
  Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is a wise man's rebuke to a listening ear.

13. 충성된 사자는 그를 보낸 이에게 마치 추수하는 날에 얼음 냉수 같아서 능히 그 주인의 마음을 시원케 하느니라
  Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters.

14. 선물한다고 거짓 자랑하는 자는 비 없는 구름과 바람 같으니라
  Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give.

15. 오래 참으면 관원이 그 말을 용납하나니 부드러운 혀는 뼈를 꺾느니라
  Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.

16. 너는 꿀을 만나거든 족하리만큼 먹으라 과식하므로 토할까 두려우니라
  If you find honey, eat just enough--too much of it, and you will vomit.

17. 너는 이웃집에 자주 다니지 말라 그가 너를 싫어하며 미워할까 두려우니라
  Seldom set foot in your neighbor's house--too much of you, and he will hate you.

18. 그 이웃을 쳐서 거짓 증거하는 사람은 방망이요 칼이요 뾰족한 살이니라
  Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is the man who gives false testimony against his neighbor.

19. 환난 날에 진실치 못한 자를 의뢰하는 의뢰는 부러진 이와 위골된 발 같으니라
  Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.

20. 마음이 상한 자에게 노래하는 것은 추운 날에 옷을 벗음 같고 쏘다 위에 초를 부음 같으니라
  Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

21. 네 원수가 배고파하거든 식물을 먹이고 목말라하거든 물을 마시우라
  If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.

22. 그리하는 것은 핀 숯으로 그의 머리에 놓는 것과 일반이요 여호와께서는 네게 상을 주시리라
  In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.

23. 북풍이 비를 일으킴같이 참소하는 혀는 사람의 얼굴에 분을 일으키느니라
  As a north wind brings rain, so a sly tongue brings angry looks.

24. 다투는 여인과 함께 큰 집에서 사는 것보다 움막에서 혼자 사는 것이 나으니라
  Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.

25. 먼 땅에서 오는 좋은 기별은 목마른 사람에게 냉수 같으니라
  Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.

26. 의인이 악인 앞에 굴복하는 것은 우물의 흐리어짐과 샘의 더러워짐 같으니라
  Like a muddied spring or a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way to the wicked.

27. 꿀을 많이 먹는 것이 좋지 못하고 자기의 영예를 구하는 것이 헛되니라
  It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one's own honor.

28. 자기의 마음을 제어하지 아니하는 자는 성읍이 무너지고 성벽이 없는 것 같으니라
  Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.

데살로니가전서 4

1. 종말로 형제들아 우리가 주 예수 안에서 너희에게 구하고 권면하노니 너희가 마땅히 어떻게 행하며 하나님께 기쁘시게 할 것을 우리에게 받았으니 곧 너희 행하는 바라 더욱 많이 힘쓰라
  Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

2. 우리가 주 예수로 말미암아 너희에게 무슨 명령으로 준 것을 너희가 아느니라
  For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

3. 하나님의 뜻은 이것이니 너희의 거룩함이라 곧 음란을 버리고
  It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

4. 각각 거룩함과 존귀함으로 자기의 아내 취할 줄을 알고
  that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,

5. 하나님을 모르는 이방인과 같이 색욕을 좇지 말고
  not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

6. 이 일에 분수를 넘어서 형제를 해하지 말라 이는 우리가 너희에게 미리 말하고 증거한 것과 같이 이 모든 일에 주께서 신원하여 주심이니라
  and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.

7. 하나님이 우리를 부르심은 부정케 하심이 아니요 거룩케 하심이니
  For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

8. 그러므로 저버리는 자는 사람을 저버림이 아니요 너희에게 그의 성령을 주신 하나님을 저버림이니라
  Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

9. 형제 사랑에 관하여는 너희에게 쓸 것이 없음은 너희가 친히 하나님의 가르치심을 받아 서로 사랑함이라
  Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.

10. 너희가 온 마게도냐 모든 형제를 대하여 과연 이것을 행하도다 형제들아 권하노니 더 많이 하고
  And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.

11. 또 너희에게 명한 것같이 종용하여 자기 일을 하고 너희 손으로 일하기를 힘쓰라
  Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,

12. 이는 외인을 대하여 단정히 행하고 또한 아무 궁핍함이 없게 하려 함이라
  so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

13. 형제들아 자는 자들에 관하여는 너희가 알지 못함을 우리가 원치 아니하노니 이는 소망 없는 다른 이와 같이 슬퍼하지 않게 하려 함이라
  Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.

14. 우리가 예수의 죽었다가 다시 사심을 믿을찐대 이와 같이 예수 안에서 자는 자들도 하나님이 저와 함께 데리고 오시리라
  We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

15. 우리가 주의 말씀으로 너희에게 이것을 말하노니 주 강림하실 때까지 우리 살아 남아 있는 자도 자는 자보다 결단코 앞서지 못하리라
  According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16. 주께서 호령과 천사장의 소리와 하나님의 나팔로 친히 하늘로 좇아 강림하시리니 그리스도 안에서 죽은 자들이 먼저 일어나고
  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17. 그 후에 우리 살아 남은 자도 저희와 함께 구름 속으로 끌어올려 공중에서 주를 영접하게 하시리니 그리하여 우리가 항상 주와 함께 있으리라
  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

18. 그러므로 이 여러 말로 서로 위로하라
  Therefore encourage each other with these words.
