레위기 11-12

1. 여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 고하여 그들에게 이르시되
  The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

2. 이스라엘 자손에게 고하여 이르라 육지 모든 짐승 중 너희의 먹을 만한 생물은 이러하니
  "Say to the Israelites: 'Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat:

3. 짐승 중 무릇 굽이 갈라져 쪽발이 되고 새김질하는 것은 너희가 먹되
  You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.

4. 새김질하는 것이나 굽이 갈라진 짐승 중에도 너희가 먹지 못할 것은 이러하니 약대는 새김질은 하되 굽이 갈라지지 아니하였으므로 너희에게 부정하고
  "'There are some that only chew the cud or only have a split hoof, but you must not eat them. The camel, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is ceremonially unclean for you.

5. 사반도 새김질은 하되 굽이 갈라지지 아니하였으므로 너희에게 부정하고
  The coney, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.

6. 토끼도 새김질은 하되 굽이 갈라지지 아니하였으므로 너희에게 부정하고
  The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.

7. 돼지는 굽이 갈라져 쪽발이로되 새김질을 못하므로 너희에게 부정하니
  And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.

8. 너희는 이 고기를 먹지 말고 그 주검도 만지지 말라 이것들은 너희에게 부정하니라
  You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.

9. 물에 있는 모든 것 중 너희의 먹을 만한 것은 이것이니 무릇 강과 바다와 다른 물에 있는 것 중에 지느러미와 비늘 있는 것은 너희가 먹되
  "'Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales.

10. 무릇 물에서 동하는 것과 무릇 물에서 사는 것 곧 무릇 강과 바다에 있는 것으로서 지느러미와 비늘 없는 것은 너희에게 가증한 것이라
  But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales--whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water--you are to detest.

11. 이들은 너희에게 가증한 것이니 너희는 그 고기를 먹지 말고 그 주검을 가증히 여기라
  And since you are to detest them, you must not eat their meat and you must detest their carcasses.

12. 수중 생물에 지느러미와 비늘 없는 것은 너희에게 가증하니라
  Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you.

13. 새 중에 너희가 가증히 여길 것은 이것이라 이것들이 가증한즉 먹지 말찌니 곧 독수리와 솔개와 어응과
  "'These are the birds you are to detest and not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,

14. 매와 매 종류와
  the red kite, any kind of black kite,

15. 까마귀 종류와
  any kind of raven,

16. 타조와 다호마스와 갈매기와 새매 종류와
  the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,

17. 올빼미와 노자와 부엉이와
  the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

18. 따오기와 당아와 올응과
  the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,

19. 학과 황새 종류와 대승과 박쥐니라
  the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.

20. 날개가 있고 네 발로 기어다니는 곤충은 너희에게 가증하되
  "'All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you.

21. 오직 날개가 있고 네 발로 기어다니는 모든 곤충 중에 그 발에 뛰는 다리가 있어서 땅에서 뛰는 것은 너희가 먹을찌니
  There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground.

22. 곧 그 중에 메뚜기 종류와 베짱이 종류와 귀뚜라미 종류와 팟종이 종류는 너희가 먹으려니와
  Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper.

23. 오직 날개가 있고 기어다니는 곤충은 다 너희에게 가증하니라
  But all other winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest.

24. 이런 유는 너희를 부정케 하나니 누구든지 이것들의 주검을 만지면 저녁까지 부정할 것이며
  "'You will make yourselves unclean by these; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean till evening.

25. 무릇 그 주검을 옮기는 자는 그 옷을 빨찌니 저녁까지 부정하리라
  Whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening.

26. 무릇 굽이 갈라진 짐승 중에 쪽발이 아닌 것이나 새김질 아니하는 것의 주검은 다 네게 부정하니 만지는 자는 부정할 것이요
  "'Every animal that has a split hoof not completely divided or that does not chew the cud is unclean for you; whoever touches the carcass of any of them will be unclean.

27. 네 발로 다니는 모든 짐승 중 발바닥으로 다니는 것은 다 네게 부정하니 그 주검을 만지는 자는 저녁까지 부정할 것이며
  Of all the animals that walk on all fours, those that walk on their paws are unclean for you; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean till evening.

28. 그 주검을 옮기는 자는 그 옷을 빨찌니 저녁까지 부정하리라 그것들이 네게 부정하니라
  Anyone who picks up their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. They are unclean for you.

29. 땅에 기는 바 기는 것 중에 네게 부정한 것은 이러하니 곧 쪽제비와 쥐와 도마뱀 종류와
  "'Of the animals that move about on the ground, these are unclean for you: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,

30. 합개와 육지 악어와 수궁과 사막 도마뱀과 칠면석척이라
  the gecko, the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink and the chameleon.

31. 모든 기는 것 중 이것들은 네게 부정하니 무릇 그 주검을 만지는 자는 저녁까지 부정할 것이며
  Of all those that move along the ground, these are unclean for you. Whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean till evening.

32. 이런 것 중 어떤 것의 주검이 목기에든지 의복에든지 가죽에든지 부대에든지 무론 무엇에 쓰는 그릇에든지 떨어지면 부정하여지리니 물에 담그라 저녁까지 부정하다가 정할 것이며
  When one of them dies and falls on something, that article, whatever its use, will be unclean, whether it is made of wood, cloth, hide or sackcloth. Put it in water; it will be unclean till evening, and then it will be clean.

33. 그것 중 어떤 것이 어느 질그릇에 떨어지면 그 속에 있는 것이 다 부정하여지나니 너는 그 그릇을 깨뜨리라
  If one of them falls into a clay pot, everything in it will be unclean, and you must break the pot.

34. 먹을 만한 축축한 식물이 거기 담겼으면 부정하여질 것이요 그같은 그릇의 마실 만한 마실 것도 부정할 것이며
  Any food that could be eaten but has water on it from such a pot is unclean, and any liquid that could be drunk from it is unclean.

35. 이런 것의 주검이 물건 위에 떨어지면 그것이 모두 부정하여지리니 화덕이든지 질탕관이든지 깨뜨려 버리라 이것이 부정하여져서 너희에게 부정한 것이 되리라
  Anything that one of their carcasses falls on becomes unclean; an oven or cooking pot must be broken up. They are unclean, and you are to regard them as unclean.

36. 샘물이나 방축물 웅덩이는 부정하여지지 아니하되 그 주검에 다닥치는 것만 부정하여질 것이요
  A spring, however, or a cistern for collecting water remains clean, but anyone who touches one of these carcasses is unclean.

37. 이것들의 주검이 심을 종자에 떨어질찌라도 그것이 정하거니와
  If a carcass falls on any seeds that are to be planted, they remain clean.

38. 종자에 물을 더할 때에 그것이 그 위에 떨어지면 너희에게 부정하리라
  But if water has been put on the seed and a carcass falls on it, it is unclean for you.

39. 너희의 먹을 만한 짐승이 죽은 때에 그 사체를 만지는 자는 저녁까지 부정할 것이며
  "'If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean till evening.

40. 그것을 먹는 자는 그 옷을 빨 것이요 저녁까지 부정할 것이며 그 주검을 옮기는 자도 그 옷을 빨 것이요 저녁까지 부정하리라
  Anyone who eats some of the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening.

41. 땅에 기어 다니는 모든 기는 것은 가증한즉 먹지 못할찌니
  "'Every creature that moves about on the ground is detestable; it is not to be eaten.

42. 곧 땅에 기어다니는 모든 기는 것 중에 배로 밀어 다니는 것이나 네 발로 걷는 것이나 여러 발을 가진 것이라 너희가 먹지 말찌니 이는 가증함이니라
  You are not to eat any creature that moves about on the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is detestable.

43. 너희는 기는 바 기어다니는 것을 인하여 자기로 가증하게 되게 말며 또한 그것을 인하여 스스로 더럽혀 부정하게 되게 말라
  Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.

44. 나는 여호와 너희 하나님이라 내가 거룩하니 너희도 몸을 구별하여 거룩하게 하고 땅에 기는 바 기어다니는 것으로 인하여 스스로 더럽히지 말라
  I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground.

45. 나는 너희의 하나님이 되려고 너희를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 낸 여호와라 내가 거룩하니 너희도 거룩할찌어다
  I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.

46. 이는 짐승과 새와 물에서 움직이는 모든 생물과 땅에 기는 모든 기어다니는 것에 대한 규례니
  "'These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves in the water and every creature that moves about on the ground.

47. 부정하고 정한 것과 먹을 생물과 먹지 못할 생물을 분별한 것이니라
  You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.'"

1. 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses,

2. 이스라엘 자손에게 고하여 이르라 여인이 잉태하여 남자를 낳으면 그는 칠 일 동안 부정하리니 곧 경도할 때와 같이 부정할 것이며
  "Say to the Israelites: 'A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period.

3. 제 팔 일에는 그 아이의 양피를 벨 것이요
  On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised.

4. 그 여인은 오히려 삼십삼 일을 지나야 산혈이 깨끗하리니 정결케 되는 기한이 차기 전에는 성물을 만지지도 말며 성소에 들어가지도 말 것이며
  Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over.

5. 여자를 낳으면 그는 이 칠일 동안 부정하리니 경도할 때와 같을 것이며 산혈이 깨끗하게 됨은 육십 륙일을 지나야 하리라
  If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.

6. 자녀간 정결케 되는 기한이 차거든 그 여인은 번제를 위하여 일 년 된 어린 양을 취하고 속죄제를 위하여 집비둘기 새끼나 산비둘기를 취하여 회막문 제사장에게로 가져갈 것이요
  "'When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering.

7. 제사장은 그것을 여호와 앞에 드려서 여인을 위하여 속죄할찌니 그리하면 산혈이 깨끗하리라 이는 자녀간 생산한 여인에게 대한 규례니라
  He shall offer them before the LORD to make atonement for her, and then she will be ceremonially clean from her flow of blood. "'These are the regulations for the woman who gives birth to a boy or a girl.

8. 그 여인의 힘이 어린 양에 미치지 못하거든 산비둘기 둘이나 집 비둘기 새끼 둘을 가져다가 하나는 번제물로, 하나는 속죄 제물로 삼을 것이요 제사장은 그를 위하여 속할찌니 그가 정결하리라
  If she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"

시편 13-14

1. 여호와여 어느 때까지니이까 나를 영영히 잊으시나이까 주의 얼굴을 나에게서 언제까지 숨기시겠나이까
  For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

2. 내가 나의 영혼에 경영하고 종일토록 마음에 근심하기를 어느 때까지 하오며 내 원수가 나를 쳐서 자긍하기를 어느 때까지 하리이까
  How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3. 여호와 내 하나님이여 나를 생각하사 응답하시고 나의 눈을 밝히소서 두렵건대 내가 사망의 잠을 잘까 하오며
  Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;

4. 두렵건대 나의 원수가 이르기를 내가 저를 이기었다 할까 하오며 내가 요동될 때에 나의 대적들이 기뻐할까 하나이다
  my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5. 나는 오직 주의 인자하심을 의뢰하였사오니 내 마음은 주의 구원을 기뻐하리이다
  But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

6. 내가 여호와를 찬송하리니 이는 나를 후대하심이로다
  I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.

1. 어리석은 자는 그 마음에 이르기를 하나님이 없다 하도다 저희는 부패하고 소행이 가증하여 선을 행하는 자가 없도다
  For the director of music. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

2. 여호와께서 하늘에서 인생을 굽어 살피사 지각이 있어 하나님을 찾는 자가 있는가 보려 하신즉
  The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

3. 다 치우쳤으며 함께 더러운 자가 되고 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 하나도 없도다
  All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

4. 죄악을 행하는 자는 다 무지하뇨 저희가 떡 먹듯이 내 백성을 먹으면서 여호와를 부르지 아니하는도다
  Will evildoers never learn--those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD?

5. 저희가 거기서 두려워하고 두려워하였으니 하나님이 의인의 세대에 계심이로다
  There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.

6. 너희가 가난한 자의 경영을 부끄럽게 하나 오직 여호와는 그 피난처가 되시도다
  You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.

7. 이스라엘의 구원이 시온에서 나오기를 원하도다 여호와께서 그 백성의 포로된 것을 돌이키실 때에 야곱이 즐거워하고 이스라엘이 기뻐하리로다
  Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

■ 혼자 읽기

잠언 26

1. 미련한 자에게는 영예가 적당하지 아니하니 마치 여름에 눈 오는 것과 추수 때에 비 오는 것 같으니라
  Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, honor is not fitting for a fool.

2. 까닭 없는 저주는 참새의 떠도는 것과 제비의 날아가는 것같이 이르지 아니하느니라
  Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

3. 말에게는 채찍이요 나귀에게는 자갈이요 미련한 자의 등에는 막대기니라
  A whip for the horse, a halter for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools!

4. 미련한 자의 어리석은 것을 따라 대답하지 말라 두렵건대 네가 그와 같을까 하노라
  Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself.

5. 미련한 자의 어리석은 것을 따라 그에게 대답하라 두렵건대 그가 스스로 지혜롭게 여길까 하노라
  Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

6. 미련한 자 편에 기별하는 것은 자기의 발을 베어 버림이라 해를 받느니라
  Like cutting off one's feet or drinking violence is the sending of a message by the hand of a fool.

7. 저는 자의 다리는 힘없이 달렸나니 미련한 자의 입의 잠언도 그러하니라
  Like a lame man's legs that hang limp is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.

8. 미련한 자에게 영예를 주는 것은 돌을 물매에 매는 것과 같으니라
  Like tying a stone in a sling is the giving of honor to a fool.

9. 미련한 자의 입의 잠언은 술 취한 자의 손에 든 가시나무 같으니라
  Like a thornbush in a drunkard's hand is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.

10. 장인이 온갖 것을 만들찌라도 미련한 자를 고용하는 것은 지나가는 자를 고용함과 같으니라
  Like an archer who wounds at random is he who hires a fool or any passer-by.

11. 개가 그 토한 것을 도로 먹는 것같이 미련한 자는 그 미련한 것을 거듭 행하느니라
  As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

12. 네가 스스로 지혜롭게 여기는 자를 보느냐 그보다 미련한 자에게 오히려 바랄 것이 있느니라
  Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

13. 게으른 자는 길에 사자가 있다 거리에 사자가 있다 하느니라
  The sluggard says, "There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!"

14. 문짝이 돌쩌귀를 따라서 도는 것같이 게으른 자는 침상에서 구으느니라
  As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.

15. 게으른 자는 그 손을 그릇에 넣고도 입으로 올리기를 괴로와하느니라
  The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.

16. 게으른 자는 선히 대답하는 사람 일곱보다 자기를 지혜롭게 여기느니라
  The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer discreetly.

17. 길로 지나다가 자기에게 상관없는 다툼을 간섭하는 자는 개 귀를 잡는 자와 같으니라
  Like one who seizes a dog by the ears is a passer-by who meddles in a quarrel not his own.

18. 횃불을 던지며 살을 쏘아서 사람을 죽이는 미친 사람이 있나니
  Like a madman shooting firebrands or deadly arrows

19. 자기 이웃을 속이고 말하기를 내가 희롱하였노라 하는 자도 그러하니라
  is a man who deceives his neighbor and says, "I was only joking!"

20. 나무가 다하면 불이 꺼지고 말장이가 없어지면 다툼이 쉬느니라
  Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down.

21. 숯불 위에 숯을 더하는 것과 타는 불에 나무를 더하는 것같이 다툼을 좋아하는 자는 시비를 일으키느니라
  As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.

22. 남의 말하기를 좋아하는 자의 말은 별식과 같아서 뱃속 깊은 데로 내려가느니라
  The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.

23. 온유한 입술에 악한 마음은 낮은 은을 입힌 토기니라
  Like a coating of glaze over earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart.

24. 감정 있는 자는 입술로는 꾸미고 속에는 궤휼을 품나니
  A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit.

25. 그 말이 좋을찌라도 믿지 말 것은 그 마음에 일곱 가지 가증한 것이 있음이라
  Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart.

26. 궤휼로 그 감정을 감출찌라도 그 악이 회중 앞에 드러나리라
  His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

27. 함정을 파는 자는 그것에 빠질 것이요 돌을 굴리는 자는 도리어 그것에 치이리라
  If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him.

28. 거짓말하는 자는 자기의 해한 자를 미워하고 아첨하는 입은 패망을 일으키느니라
  A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

데살로니가전서 5

1. 형제들아 때와 시기에 관하여는 너희에게 쓸 것이 없음은
  Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,

2. 주의 날이 밤에 도적같이 이를 줄을 너희 자신이 자세히 앎이라
  for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3. 저희가 평안하다, 안전하다 할 그 때에 잉태된 여자에게 해산 고통이 이름과 같이 멸망이 홀연히 저희에게 이르리니 결단코 피하지 못하리라
  While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4. 형제들아 너희는 어두움에 있지 아니하매 그 날이 도적같이 너희에게 임하지 못하리니
  But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

5. 너희는 다 빛의 아들이요 낮의 아들이라 우리가 밤이나 어두움에 속하지 아니하나니
  You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

6. 그러므로 우리는 다른 이들과 같이 자지 말고 오직 깨어 근신할찌라
  So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.

7. 자는 자들은 밤에 자고 취하는 자들은 밤에 취하되
  For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8. 우리는 낮에 속하였으니 근신하여 믿음과 사랑의 흉배를 붙이고 구원의 소망의 투구를 쓰자
  But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

9. 하나님이 우리를 세우심은 노하심에 이르게 하심이 아니요 오직 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 구원을 얻게 하신 것이라
  For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

10. 예수께서 우리를 위하여 죽으사 우리로 하여금 깨든지 자든지 자기와 함께 살게 하려 하셨느니라
  He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.

11. 그러므로 피차 권면하고 피차 덕을 세우기를 너희가 하는 것같이 하라
  Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

12. 형제들아 우리가 너희에게 구하노니 너희 가운데서 수고하고 주 안에서 너희를 다스리며 권하는 자들을 너희가 알고
  Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.

13. 저의 역사로 말미암아 사랑 안에서 가장 귀히 여기며 너희끼리 화목하라
  Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

14. 또 형제들아 너희를 권면하노니 규모 없는 자들을 권계하며 마음이 약한 자들을 안위하고 힘이 없는 자들을 붙들어 주며 모든 사람을 대하여 오래 참으라
  And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

15. 삼가 누가 누구에게든지 악으로 악을 갚지 말게 하고 오직 피차 대하든지 모든 사람을 대하든지 항상 선을 좇으라
  Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

16. 항상 기뻐하라
  Be joyful always;

17. 쉬지 말고 기도하라
  pray continually;

18. 범사에 감사하라 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라
  give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

19. 성령을 소멸치 말며
  Do not put out the Spirit's fire;

20. 예언을 멸시치 말고
  do not treat prophecies with contempt.

21. 범사에 헤아려 좋은 것을 취하고
  Test everything. Hold on to the good.

22. 악은 모든 모양이라도 버리라
  Avoid every kind of evil.

23. 평강의 하나님이 친히 너희로 온전히 거룩하게 하시고 또 너희 온 영과 혼과 몸이 우리 주 예수 그리스도 강림하실 때에 흠없게 보전되기를 원하노라
  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24. 너희를 부르시는 이는 미쁘시니 그가 또한 이루시리라
  The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

25. 형제들아 우리를 위하여 기도하라
  Brothers, pray for us.

26. 거룩하게 입맞춤으로 모든 형제에게 문안하라
  Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

27. 내가 주를 힘입어 너희를 명하노니 모든 형제에게 이 편지를 읽어 들리라
  I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.

28. 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 너희에게 있을찌어다
  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
