사무엘하 24

1. 여호와께서 다시 이스라엘을 향하여 진노하사 저희를 치시려고 다윗을 감동시키사 가서 이스라엘과 유다의 인구를 조사하라 하신지라
  Again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, "Go and take a census of Israel and Judah."

2. 왕이 이에 그 곁에 있는 군대 장관 요압에게 이르되 너는 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데로 다니며 단에서부터 브엘세바까지 인구를 조사하여 그 도수를 내게 알게 하라
  So the king said to Joab and the army commanders with him, "Go throughout the tribes of Israel from Dan to Beersheba and enroll the fighting men, so that I may know how many there are."

3. 요압이 왕께 고하되 이 백성은 얼마든지 왕의 하나님 여호와께서 백 배나 더하게 하사 내 주 왕의 눈으로 보게 하시기를 원하나이다 그런데 내 주 왕은 어찌하여 이런 일을 기뻐하시나이까 하되
  But Joab replied to the king, "May the LORD your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?"

4. 왕의 명령이 요압과 군대 장관들을 재촉한지라 요압과 장관들이 이스라엘 인구를 조사하려고 왕의 앞에서 물러나서
  The king's word, however, overruled Joab and the army commanders; so they left the presence of the king to enroll the fighting men of Israel.

5. 요단을 건너 갓 골짜기 가운데 성읍 아로엘 우편 곧 야셀 맞은편에 이르러 장막을 치고
  After crossing the Jordan, they camped near Aroer, south of the town in the gorge, and then went through Gad and on to Jazer.

6. 길르앗에 이르고 닷딤홋시 땅에 이르고 또 다냐안에 이르러서는 시돈으로 돌아서
  They went to Gilead and the region of Tahtim Hodshi, and on to Dan Jaan and around toward Sidon.

7. 두로 견고한 성에 이르고 히위 사람과 가나안 사람의 모든 성읍에 이르고 유다 남편으로 나와서 브엘세바에 이르니라
  Then they went toward the fortress of Tyre and all the towns of the Hivites and Canaanites. Finally, they went on to Beersheba in the Negev of Judah.

8. 저희 무리가 국중을 두루 돌아 아홉 달 스무 날 만에 예루살렘에 이르러
  After they had gone through the entire land, they came back to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

9. 요압이 인구 도수를 왕께 고하니 곧 이스라엘에서 칼을 빼는 담대한 자가 팔십 만이요 유다 사람이 오십 만이었더라
  Joab reported the number of the fighting men to the king: In Israel there were eight hundred thousand able-bodied men who could handle a sword, and in Judah five hundred thousand.

10. 다윗이 인구 수를 조사한 후에 그 마음에 자책하고 여호와께 아뢰되 내가 이 일을 행함으로 큰 죄를 범하였나이다 여호와여 이제 간구하옵나니 종의 죄를 사하여 주옵소서 내가 심히 미련하게 행하였나이다 하니라
  David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the LORD, "I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, O LORD, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing."

11. 다윗이 아침에 일어날 때에 여호와의 말씀이 다윗의 선견자 된 선지자 갓에게 임하여 가라사대
  Before David got up the next morning, the word of the LORD had come to Gad the prophet, David's seer:

12. 가서 다윗에게 말하기를 여호와의 말씀에 내가 네게 세 가지를 보이노니 너는 그 중에서 하나를 택하라 내가 그것을 네게 행하리라 하셨다 하라
  "Go and tell David, 'This is what the LORD says: I am giving you three options. Choose one of them for me to carry out against you.'"

13. 갓이 다윗에게 이르러 고하여 가로되 왕의 땅에 칠 년 기근이 있을 것이니이까 혹시 왕이 왕의 대적에게 쫓겨 석 달을 그 앞에서 도망하실 것이니이까 혹시 왕의 땅에 삼 일 동안 온역이 있을 것이니이까 왕은 생각하여 보고 나를 보내신 이에게 대답하게 하소서
  So Gad went to David and said to him, "Shall there come upon you three years of famine in your land? Or three months of fleeing from your enemies while they pursue you? Or three days of plague in your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should answer the one who sent me."

14. 다윗이 갓에게 이르되 내가 곤경에 있도다 여호와께서는 긍휼이 크시니 우리가 여호와의 손에 빠지고 내가 사람의 손에 빠지지 않기를 원하노라
  David said to Gad, "I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men."

15. 이에 여호와께서 그 아침부터 정하신 때까지 온역을 이스라엘에게 내리시니 단부터 브엘세바까지 백성의 죽은 자가 칠만 인이라
  So the LORD sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died.

16. 천사가 예루살렘을 향하여 그 손을 들어 멸하려 하더니 여호와께서 이 재앙 내림을 뉘우치사 백성을 멸하는 천사에게 이르시되 족하다 이제는 네 손을 거두라 하시니 때에 여호와의 사자가 여부스 사람 아라우나의 타작 마당 곁에 있는지라
  When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD was grieved because of the calamity and said to the angel who was afflicting the people, "Enough! Withdraw your hand." The angel of the LORD was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

17. 다윗이 백성을 치는 천사를 보고 곧 여호와께 아뢰어 가로되 나는 범죄하였고 악을 행하였삽거니와 이 양 무리는 무엇을 행하였나이까 청컨대 주의 손으로 나와 내 아비의 집을 치소서 하니라
  When David saw the angel who was striking down the people, he said to the LORD, "I am the one who has sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep. What have they done? Let your hand fall upon me and my family."

18. 이 날에 갓이 다윗에게 이르러 고하되 올라가서 여부스 사람 아라우나의 타작 마당에서 여호와를 위하여 단을 쌓으소서 하매
  On that day Gad went to David and said to him, "Go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite."

19. 다윗이 여호와의 명하신 바 갓의 말대로 올라가니라
  So David went up, as the LORD had commanded through Gad.

20. 아라우나가 바라보다가 왕과 그 신복들이 자기를 향하여 옴을 보고 나가서 왕의 앞에서 얼굴을 땅에 대고 절하며
  When Araunah looked and saw the king and his men coming toward him, he went out and bowed down before the king with his face to the ground.

21. 가로되 어찌하여 내 주 왕께서 종에게 임하시나이까 다윗이 가로되 네게서 타작 마당을 사서 여호와께 단을 쌓아 백성에게 내리는 재앙을 그치게 하려 함이로라
  Araunah said, "Why has my lord the king come to his servant?" "To buy your threshing floor," David answered, "so I can build an altar to the LORD, that the plague on the people may be stopped."

22. 아라우나가 다윗에게 고하되 원컨대 내 주 왕은 좋게 여기시는 대로 취하여 드리소서 번제에 대하여는 소가 있고 땔 나무에 대하여는 마당질하는 제구와 소의 멍에가 있나이다
  Araunah said to David, "Let my lord the king take whatever pleases him and offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and here are threshing sledges and ox yokes for the wood.

23. 왕이여 아라우나가 이것을 다 왕께 드리나이다 하고 또 왕께 고하되 왕의 하나님 여호와께서 왕을 기쁘게 받으시기를 원하나이다
  O king, Araunah gives all this to the king." Araunah also said to him, "May the LORD your God accept you."

24. 왕이 아라우나에게 이르되 그렇지 아니하다 내가 값을 주고 네게서 사리라 값없이는 내 하나님 여호와께 번제를 드리지 아니하리라 하고 은 오십 세겔로 타작 마당과 소를 사고
  But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them.

25. 그 곳에서 여호와를 위하여 단을 쌓고 번제와 화목제를 드렸더니 이에 여호와께서 그 땅을 위하여 기도를 들으시매 이스라엘에게 내리는 재앙이 그쳤더라
  David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.

갈라디아서 4

1. 내가 또 말하노니 유업을 이을 자가 모든 것의 주인이나 어렸을 동안에는 종과 다름이 없어서
  What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.

2. 그 아버지의 정한 때까지 후견인과 청지기 아래 있나니
  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father.

3. 이와 같이 우리도 어렸을 때에 이 세상 초등 학문 아래 있어서 종 노릇 하였더니
  So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world.

4. 때가 차매 하나님이 그 아들을 보내사 여자에게서 나게 하시고 율법 아래 나게 하신 것은
  But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law,

5. 율법 아래 있는 자들을 속량하시고 우리로 아들의 명분을 얻게 하려 하심이라
  to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.

6. 너희가 아들인 고로 하나님이 그 아들의 영을 우리 마음 가운데 보내사 아바 아버지라 부르게 하셨느니라
  Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father."

7. 그러므로 네가 이 후로는 종이 아니요 아들이니 아들이면 하나님으로 말미암아 유업을 이을 자니라
  So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

8. 그러나 너희가 그 때에는 하나님을 알지 못하여 본질상 하나님이 아닌 자들에게 종 노릇 하였더니
  Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.

9. 이제는 너희가 하나님을 알 뿐더러 하나님의 아신 바 되었거늘 어찌하여 다시 약하고 천한 초등 학문으로 돌아가서 다시 저희에게 종 노릇 하려 하느냐
  But now that you know God--or rather are known by God--how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?

10. 너희가 날과 달과 절기와 해를 삼가 지키니
  You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!

11. 내가 너희를 위하여 수고한 것이 헛될까 두려워하노라
  I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.

12. 형제들아 내가 너희와 같이 되었은즉 너희도 나와 같이 되기를 구하노라 너희가 내게 해롭게 하지 아니하였느니라
  I plead with you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.

13. 내가 처음에 육체의 약함을 인하여 너희에게 복음을 전한 것을 너희가 아는 바라
  As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you.

14. 너희를 시험하는 것이 내 육체에 있으되 이것을 너희가 업신여기지도 아니하며 버리지도 아니하고 오직 나를 하나님의 천사와 같이 또는 그리스도 예수와 같이 영접하였도다
  Even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself.

15. 너희의 복이 지금 어디 있느냐 내가 너희에게 증거하노니 너희가 할 수만 있었더면 너희의 눈이라도 빼어 나를 주었으리라
  What has happened to all your joy? I can testify that, if you could have done so, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.

16. 그런즉 내가 너희에게 참된 말을 하므로 원수가 되었느냐
  Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?

17. 저희가 너희를 대하여 열심 내는 것이 좋은 뜻이 아니요 오직 너희를 이간 붙여 너희로 저희를 대하여 열심 내게 하려 함이라
  Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them.

18. 좋은 일에 대하여 열심으로 사모함을 받음은 내가 너희를 대하였을 때뿐 아니라 언제든지 좋으니라
  It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always and not just when I am with you.

19. 나의 자녀들아 너희 속에 그리스도의 형상이 이루기까지 다시 너희를 위하여 해산하는 수고를 하노니
  My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,

20. 내가 이제라도 너희와 함께 있어 내 음성을 변하려 함은 너희를 대하여 의심이 있음이라
  how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!

21. 내게 말하라 율법 아래 있고자 하는 자들아 율법을 듣지 못하였느냐
  Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?

22. 기록된 바 아브라함이 두 아들이 있으니 하나는 계집종에게서, 하나는 자유하는 여자에게서 났다 하였으나
  For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.

23. 계집종에게서는 육체를 따라 났고 자유하는 여자에게서는 약속으로 말미암았느니라
  His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

24. 이것은 비유니 이 여자들은 두 언약이라 하나는 시내 산으로부터 종을 낳은 자니 곧 하가라
  These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar.

25. 이 하가는 아라비아에 있는 시내 산으로 지금 있는 예루살렘과 같은 데니 저가 그 자녀들로 더불어 종 노릇 하고
  Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.

26. 오직 위에 있는 예루살렘은 자유자니 곧 우리 어머니라
  But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

27. 기록된 바 잉태치 못한 자여 즐거워하라 구로치 못한 자여 소리질러 외치라 이는 홀로 사는 자의 자녀가 남편 있는 자의 자녀보다 많음이라 하였으니
  For it is written: "Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband."

28. 형제들아 너희는 이삭과 같이 약속의 자녀라
  Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

29. 그러나 그 때에 육체를 따라 난 자가 성령을 따라 난 자를 핍박한 것같이 이제도 그러하도다
  At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.

30. 그러나 성경이 무엇을 말하느뇨 계집종과 그 아들을 내어쫓으라 계집종의 아들이 자유하는 여자의 아들로 더불어 유업을 얻지 못하리라 하였느니라
  But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son."

31. 그런즉 형제들아 우리는 계집종의 자녀가 아니요 자유하는 여자의 자녀니라
  Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

에스겔 31

1. 제 십일 년 삼월 초일일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
  In the eleventh year, in the third month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:

2. 인자야 너는 애굽 왕 바로와 그 무리에게 이르기를 네 큰 위엄을 뉘게 비하랴
  "Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes: "'Who can be compared with you in majesty?

3. 볼찌어다 앗수르 사람은 가지가 아름답고 그늘은 삼림의 그늘 같으며 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿은 레바논 백향목이었느니라
  Consider Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest; it towered on high, its top above the thick foliage.

4. 물들이 그것을 기르며 깊은 물이 그것을 자라게 하며 강들이 그 심긴 곳을 둘러 흐르며 보의 물이 들의 모든 나무에까지 미치매
  The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tall; their streams flowed all around its base and sent their channels to all the trees of the field.

5. 그 나무가 물이 많으므로 키가 들의 모든 나무보다 높으며 굵은 가지가 번성하며 가는 가지가 길게 빼어났고
  So it towered higher than all the trees of the field; its boughs increased and its branches grew long, spreading because of abundant waters.

6. 공중의 모든 새가 그 큰 가지에 깃들이며 들의 모든 짐승이 그 가는 가지 밑에 새끼를 낳으며 모든 큰 나라가 그 그늘 아래 거하였었느니라
  All the birds of the air nested in its boughs, all the beasts of the field gave birth under its branches; all the great nations lived in its shade.

7. 그 뿌리가 큰 물가에 있으므로 그 나무가 크고 가지가 길어 모양이 아름다우매
  It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters.

8. 하나님의 동산의 백향목이 능히 그를 가리우지 못하며 잣나무가 그 굵은 가지만 못하며 단풍나무가 그 가는 가지만 못하며 하나님의 동산의 아무 나무도 그 아름다운 모양과 같지 못하였도다
  The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the pine trees equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches--no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty.

9. 내가 그 가지로 많게 하여 모양이 아름답게 하였더니 하나님의 동산 에덴에 있는 모든 나무가 다 투기하였느니라
  I made it beautiful with abundant branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden in the garden of God.

10. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그의 키가 높고 꼭대기가 구름에 닿아서 높이 빼어났으므로 마음이 교만하였은즉
  "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because it towered on high, lifting its top above the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height,

11. 내가 열국의 능한 자의 손에 붙일찌라 그가 임의로 대접할 것은 내가 그의 악을 인하여 쫓아 내었음이라
  I handed it over to the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside,

12. 열국의 강포한 다른 민족이 그를 찍어 버렸으므로 그 가는 가지가 산과 모든 골짜기에 떨어졌고 그 굵은 가지가 그 땅 모든 물가에 꺾어졌으며 세상 모든 백성이 그를 버리고 그 그늘 아래서 떠나매
  and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it.

13. 공중의 모든 새가 그 넘어진 나무에 거하며 들의 모든 짐승이 그 가지에 있으리니
  All the birds of the air settled on the fallen tree, and all the beasts of the field were among its branches.

14. 이는 물가에 있는 모든 나무로 키가 높다고 교만치 못하게 하며 그 꼭대기로 구름에 닿지 못하게 하며 또 물 대임을 받는 능한 자로 스스로 높아 서지 못하게 함이니 그들을 다 죽는 데 붙여서 인생 중 구덩이로 내려가는 자와 함께 지하로 내려가게 하였음이니라
  Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortal men, with those who go down to the pit.

15. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 그가 음부에 내려가던 날에 내가 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 깊은 바다를 덮으며 모든 강을 쉬게 하며 큰 물을 그치게 하고 레바논으로 그를 위하여 애곡하게 하며 들의 모든 나무로 그로 인하여 쇠잔하게 하였느니라
  "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day it was brought down to the grave I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away.

16. 내가 그로 구덩이에 내려가는 자와 함께 음부에 떨어뜨리던 때에 열국으로 그 떨어지는 소리를 인하여 진동하게 하였고 물 대임을 받은 에덴의 모든 나무 곧 레바논의 뛰어나고 아름다운 나무들로 지하에서 위로를 받게 하였느니라
  I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the grave with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the trees that were well-watered, were consoled in the earth below.

17. 그러나 그들도 그와 함께 음부에 내려 칼에 살륙을 당한 자에게 이르렀나니 그들은 옛적에 그의 팔이 된 자요 열국 중에서 그 그늘 아래 거하던 자니라
  Those who lived in its shade, its allies among the nations, had also gone down to the grave with it, joining those killed by the sword.

18. 너의 영화와 광대함이 에덴 모든 나무 중에 어떤 것과 같은고 그러나 네가 에덴 나무와 함께 지하에 내려갈 것이요 거기서 할례받지 못하고 칼에 살륙당한 자 중에 누우리라 이들은 바로와 그 모든 군대니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라 하라
  "'Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword. "'This is Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the Sovereign LORD.'"

시편 79

1. 하나님이여 열방이 주의 기업에 들어와서 주의 성전을 더럽히고 예루살렘으로 돌무더기가 되게 하였나이다
  A psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.

2. 저희가 주의 종들의 시체를 공중의 새에게 밥으로 주며 주의 성도들의 육체를 땅 짐승에게 주며
  They have given the dead bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the air, the flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth.

3. 그들의 피를 예루살렘 사면에 물같이 흘렸으며 그들을 매장하는 자가 없었나이다
  They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.

4. 우리는 우리 이웃에게 비방거리가 되며 우리를 에운 자에게 조소와 조롱거리가 되었나이다
  We are objects of reproach to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.

5. 여호와여 어느 때까지니이까 영원히 노하시리이까 주의 진노가 불붙듯 하시리이까
  How long, O LORD? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?

6. 주를 알지 아니하는 열방과 주의 이름을 부르지 아니하는 열국에 주의 노를 쏟으소서
  Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name;

7. 저희가 야곱을 삼키고 그 거처를 황폐케 함이니이다
  for they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his homeland.

8. 우리 열조의 죄악을 기억하여 우리에게 돌리지 마옵소서 우리가 심히 천하게 되었사오니 주의 긍휼하심으로 속히 우리를 영접하소서
  Do not hold against us the sins of the fathers; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need.

9. 우리 구원의 하나님이여 주의 이름의 영광을 위하여 우리를 도우시며 주의 이름을 위하여 우리를 건지시며 우리 죄를 사하소서
  Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name's sake.

10. 어찌하여 열방으로 저희 하나님이 어디 있느냐 말하게 하리이까 주의 종들의 피 흘림당한 보수를 우리 목전에 열방 중에 알리소서
  Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Before our eyes, make known among the nations that you avenge the outpoured blood of your servants.

11. 갇힌 자의 탄식으로 주의 앞에 이르게 하시며 죽이기로 정한 자를 주의 크신 능력을 따라 보존하소서
  May the groans of the prisoners come before you; by the strength of your arm preserve those condemned to die.

12. 주여 우리 이웃이 주를 훼방한 그 훼방을 저희 품에 칠 배나 갚으소서
