사무엘하 22

1. 여호와께서 다윗을 모든 대적의 손과 사울의 손에서 구원하신 그 날에 다윗이 이 노래의 말씀으로 여호와께 아뢰어
  David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

2. 가로되 여호와는 나의 반석이시요 나의 요새시요 나를 건지시는 자시요
  He said: "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

3. 나의 하나님이시요 나의 피할 바위시요 나의 방패시요 나의 구원의 뿔이시요 나의 높은 망대시요 나의 피난처시요 나의 구원자시라 나를 흉악에서 구원하셨도다
  my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior--from violent men you save me.

4. 내가 찬송 받으실 여호와께 아뢰리니 내 원수들에게서 구원을 얻으리로다
  I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

5. 사망의 물결이 나를 에우고 불의의 창수가 나를 두렵게 하였으며
  "The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

6. 음부의 줄이 나를 두르고 사망의 올무가 내게 이르렀도다
  The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

7. 내가 환난 중에서 여호와께 아뢰며 나의 하나님께 아뢰었더니 저가 그 전에서 내 소리를 들으심이여 나의 부르짖음이 그 귀에 들렸도다
  In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.

8. 이에 땅이 진동하고 떨며 하늘 기초가 요동하고 흔들렸으니 그의 진노를 인함이로다
  "The earth trembled and quaked, the foundations of the heavens shook; they trembled because he was angry.

9. 그 코에서 연기가 오르고 입에서 불이 나와 사름이여 그 불에 숯이 피었도다
  Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.

10. 저가 또 하늘을 드리우고 강림하시니 그 발 아래는 어둑캄캄하도다
  He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.

11. 그룹을 타고 날으심이여 바람 날개 위에 나타나셨도다
  He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.

12. 저가 흑암 곧 모인 물과 공중의 빽빽한 구름으로 둘린 장막을 삼으심이여
  He made darkness his canopy around him--the dark rain clouds of the sky.

13. 그 앞에 있는 광채로 인하여 숯불이 피었도다
  Out of the brightness of his presence bolts of lightning blazed forth.

14. 여호와께서 하늘에서 뇌성을 발하시며 지존하신 자가 음성을 내심이여
  The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.

15. 살을 날려 저희를 흩으시며 번개로 파하셨도다
  He shot arrows and scattered the enemies, bolts of lightning and routed them.

16. 이럴 때에 여호와의 꾸지람과 콧김을 인하여 물 밑이 드러나고 땅의 기초가 나타났도다
  The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of breath from his nostrils.

17. 저가 위에서 보내사 나를 취하심이여 많은 물에서 나를 건져내셨도다
  "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.

18. 나를 강한 원수와 미워하는 자에게서 건지셨음이여 저희는 나보다 힘센 연고로다
  He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.

19. 저희가 나의 재앙의 날에 내게 이르렀으나 여호와께서 나의 의지가 되셨도다
  They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.

20. 나를 또 넓은 곳으로 인도하시고 나를 기뻐하시므로 구원하셨도다
  He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

21. 여호와께서 내 의를 따라 상 주시며 내 손의 깨끗함을 좇아 갚으셨으니
  "The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

22. 이는 내가 여호와의 도를 지키고 악을 행하여 내 하나님을 떠나지 아니하였으며
  For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not done evil by turning from my God.

23. 그 모든 규례를 내 앞에 두고 그 율례를 버리지 아니하였음이로다
  All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.

24. 내가 또 그 앞에 완전하여 스스로 지켜 죄악을 피하였나니
  I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.

25. 그러므로 여호와께서 내 의대로, 그 목전에 내 깨끗한 대로 내게 갚으셨도다
  The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.

26. 자비한 자에게는 주의 자비하심을 나타내시며 완전한 자에게는 주의 완전하심을 보이시며
  "To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

27. 깨끗한 자에게는 주의 깨끗하심을 보이시며 사특한 자에게는 주의 거스리심을 보이시리이다
  to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

28. 주께서 곤고한 백성은 구원하시고 교만한 자를 살피사 낮추시리이다
  You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.

29. 여호와여 주는 나의 등불이시니 여호와께서 나의 흑암을 밝히시리이다
  You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.

30. 내가 주를 의뢰하고 적군에 달리며 내 하나님을 의지하고 성벽을 뛰어넘나이다
  With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.

31. 하나님의 도는 완전하고 여호와의 말씀은 정미하니 저는 자기에게 피하는 모든 자에게 방패시로다
  "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

32. 여호와 외에 누가 하나님이며 우리 하나님 외에 누가 바위뇨
  For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

33. 하나님은 나의 견고한 요새시며 나를 온전한 곳으로 인도하시며
  It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

34. 나의 발로 암사슴 발 같게 하시며 나를 나의 높은 곳에 세우시며
  He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

35. 내 손을 가르쳐 싸우게 하시니 내 팔이 놋활을 당기도다
  He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36. 주께서 또 주의 구원의 방패를 내게 주시며 주의 온유함이 나를 크게 하셨나이다
  You give me your shield of victory; you stoop down to make me great.

37. 내 걸음을 넓게 하셨고 나로 실족지 않게 하셨나이다
  You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.

38. 내가 내 원수를 따라 멸하였사오며 저희를 무찌르기 전에는 돌이키지 아니하였나이다
  "I pursued my enemies and crushed them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

39. 내가 저희를 무찔러 파하였더니 저희가 내 발 아래 엎드러지고 능히 일어나지 못하였나이다
  I crushed them completely, and they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet.

40. 이는 주께서 나로 전쟁케 하려고 능력으로 내게 띠 띠우사 일어나 나를 치는 자로 내게 굴복케 하셨사오며
  You armed me with strength for battle; you made my adversaries bow at my feet.

41. 주께서 또 내 원수들로 등을 내게로 향하게 하시고 나로 나를 미워하는 자를 끊어 버리게 하셨음이니이다
  You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.

42. 저희가 둘러보아도 구원할 자가 없었고 여호와께 부르짖어도 대답지 아니하셨나이다
  They cried for help, but there was no one to save them--to the LORD, but he did not answer.

43. 내가 저희를 땅의 티끌같이 부스러뜨리고 거리의 진흙같이 밟아 헤쳤나이다
  I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets.

44. 주께서 또 나를 내 백성의 다툼에서 건지시고 나를 보존하사 열방의 으뜸을 삼으셨으니 내가 알지 못하는 백성이 나를 섬기리이다
  "You have delivered me from the attacks of my people; you have preserved me as the head of nations. People I did not know are subject to me,

45. 이방인들이 내게 굴복함이여 저희가 내 풍성을 듣고 곧 순복하리로다
  and foreigners come cringing to me; as soon as they hear me, they obey me.

46. 이방인들이 쇠미하여 그 견고한 곳에서 떨며 나오리로다
  They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.

47. 여호와는 생존하시니 나의 바위를 찬송하며 내 구원의 바위이신 하나님을 높일찌로다
  "The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior!

48. 이 하나님이 나를 위하여 보수하시고 민족들로 내게 복종케 하시며
  He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me,

49. 나를 원수들에게서 나오게 하시며 나를 대적하는 자 위에 나를 드시고 나를 강포한 자에게서 건지시는도다
  who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me.

50. 이러므로 여호와여 내가 열방 중에서 주께 감사하며 주의 이름을 찬양하리이다
  Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.

51. 여호와께서 그 왕에게 큰 구원을 주시며 기름 부음받은 자에게 인자를 베푸심이여 영원토록 다윗과 그 후손에게로다 하였더라
  He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever."

갈라디아서 2

1. 십사 년 후에 내가 바나바와 함께 디도를 데리고 다시 예루살렘에 올라갔노니
  Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also.

2. 계시를 인하여 올라가 내가 이방 가운데서 전파하는 복음을 저희에게 제출하되 유명한 자들에게 사사로이 한 것은 내가 달음질하는 것이나 달음질한 것이 헛되지 않게 하려 함이라
  I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders, for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.

3. 그러나 나와 함께 있는 헬라인 디도라도 억지로 할례를 받게 아니하였으니
  Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek.

4. 이는 가만히 들어온 거짓 형제 까닭이라 저희가 가만히 들어온 것은 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리의 가진 자유를 엿보고 우리를 종으로 삼고자 함이로되
  This matter arose because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.

5. 우리가 일시라도 복종치 아니하였으니 이는 복음의 진리로 너희 가운데 항상 있게 하려 함이라
  We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

6. 유명하다는 이들 중에 (본래 어떤 이들이든지 내게 상관이 없으며 하나님은 사람의 외모를 취하지 아니하시나니) 저 유명한 이들은 내게 더하여 준 것이 없고
  As for those who seemed to be important--whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judge by external appearance--those men added nothing to my message.

7. 도리어 내가 무할례자에게 복음 전함을 맡기를 베드로가 할례자에게 맡음과 같이 한 것을 보고
  On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews.

8. 베드로에게 역사하사 그를 할례자의 사도로 삼으신 이가 또한 내게 역사하사 나를 이방인에게 사도로 삼으셨느니라
  For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles.

9. 또 내게 주신 은혜를 알므로 기둥같이 여기는 야고보와 게바와 요한도 나와 바나바에게 교제의 악수를 하였으니 이는 우리는 이방인에게로, 저희는 할례자에게로 가게 하려 함이라
  James, Peter and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.

10. 다만 우리에게 가난한 자들 생각하는 것을 부탁하였으니 이것을 나도 본래 힘써 행하노라
  All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

11. 게바가 안디옥에 이르렀을 때에 책망할 일이 있기로 내가 저를 면책하였노라
  When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong.

12. 야고보에게서 온 어떤 이들이 이르기 전에 게바가 이방인과 함께 먹다가 저희가 오매 그가 할례자들을 두려워하여 떠나 물러가매
  Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

13. 남은 유대인들도 저와 같이 외식하므로 바나바도 저희의 외식에 유혹되었느니라
  The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

14. 그러므로 나는 저희가 복음의 진리를 따라 바로 행하지 아니함을 보고 모든 자 앞에서 게바에게 이르되 네가 유대인으로서 이방을 좇고 유대인답게 살지 아니하면서 어찌하여 억지로 이방인을 유대인답게 살게 하려느냐 하였노라
  When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

15. 우리는 본래 유대인이요 이방 죄인이 아니로되
  "We who are Jews by birth and not 'Gentile sinners'

16. 사람이 의롭게 되는 것은 율법의 행위에서 난 것이 아니요 오직 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는 줄 아는 고로 우리도 그리스도 예수를 믿나니 이는 우리가 율법의 행위에서 아니고 그리스도를 믿음으로서 의롭다 함을 얻으려 함이라 율법의 행위로서는 의롭다 함을 얻을 육체가 없느니라
  know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

17. 만일 우리가 그리스도 안에서 의롭게 되려 하다가 죄인으로 나타나면 그리스도께서 죄를 짓게 하는 자냐 결코 그럴 수 없느니라
  "If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!

18. 만일 내가 헐었던 것을 다시 세우면 내가 나를 범법한 자로 만드는 것이라
  If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker.

19. 내가 율법으로 말미암아 율법을 향하여 죽었나니 이는 하나님을 향하여 살려 함이니라
  For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.

20. 내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 산 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서 사신 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나를 위하여 자기 몸을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라
  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

21. 내가 하나님의 은혜를 폐하지 아니하노니 만일 의롭게 되는 것이 율법으로 말미암으면 그리스도께서 헛되이 죽으셨느니라
  I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"

에스겔 29

1. 제 십 년 시월 십이일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
  In the tenth year, in the tenth month on the twelfth day, the word of the LORD came to me:

2. 인자야 너는 애굽 왕 바로와 온 애굽으로 낯을 향하고 쳐서 예언하라
  "Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

3. 너는 말하여 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 애굽 왕 바로야 내가 너를 대적하노라 너는 자기의 강들 중에 누운 큰 악어라 스스로 이르기를 내 이 강은 내 것이라 내가 나를 위하여 만들었다 하는도다
  Speak to him and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, you great monster lying among your streams. You say, "The Nile is mine; I made it for myself."

4. 내가 갈고리로 네 아가미를 꿰고 네 강의 고기로 네 비늘에 붙게 하고 네 비늘에 붙은 강의 모든 고기와 함께 너를 네 강들 중에서 끌어내고
  But I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales. I will pull you out from among your streams, with all the fish sticking to your scales.

5. 너와 네 강의 모든 고기를 들에 던지리니 네가 지면에 떨어지고 다시는 거두거나 모음을 입지 못할 것은 내가 너를 들짐승과 공중의 새의 식물로 주었음이라
  I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and not be gathered or picked up. I will give you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air.

6. 애굽의 모든 거민이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 애굽은 본래 이스라엘 족속에게 갈대 지팡이라
  Then all who live in Egypt will know that I am the LORD. "'You have been a staff of reed for the house of Israel.

7. 그들이 너를 손으로 잡은즉 네가 부러져서 그들의 모든 어깨를 찢었고 그들이 너를 의지한즉 네가 부러져서 그들의 모든 허리로 흔들리게 하였느니라
  When they grasped you with their hands, you splintered and you tore open their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and their backs were wrenched.

8. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 칼로 네게 임하게 하여 네게서 사람과 짐승을 끊은즉
  "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will bring a sword against you and kill your men and their animals.

9. 애굽 땅이 사막과 황무지가 되리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 네가 스스로 이르기를 이 강은 내 것이라 내가 만들었다 하도다
  Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the LORD. "'Because you said, "The Nile is mine; I made it,"

10. 그러므로 내가 너와 네 강들을 쳐서 애굽 땅 믹돌에서부터 수에네 곧 구스 지경까지 황무한 황무지 곧 사막이 되게 하리니
  therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border of Cush.

11. 그 가운데로 사람의 발도 지나가지 아니하며 짐승의 발도 지나가지 아니하고 거접하는 사람이 없이 사십년이 지날찌라
  No foot of man or animal will pass through it; no one will live there for forty years.

12. 내가 애굽 땅으로 황무한 열국같이 황무하게 하며 애굽 성읍도 사막이 된 열국의 성읍같이 사십 년 동안 황무하게 하고 애굽 사람들은 각국 가운데로 흩으며 열방 가운데로 헤치리라
  I will make the land of Egypt desolate among devastated lands, and her cities will lie desolate forty years among ruined cities. And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.

13. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 사십 년 끝에 내가 만민 중에 흩은 애굽 사람을 다시 모아 내되
  "'Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations where they were scattered.

14. 애굽의 사로잡힌 자들을 돌이켜 바드로스 땅 곧 그 고토로 돌아가게 할 것이라 그들이 거기서 미약한 나라가 되되
  I will bring them back from captivity and return them to Upper Egypt, the land of their ancestry. There they will be a lowly kingdom.

15. 나라 중에 지극히 미약한 나라가 되어 다시는 열국 위에 스스로 높이지 못하리니 내가 그들을 감하여 다시는 열국을 다스리지 못하게 할 것임이라
  It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations. I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the nations.

16. 그들이 다시는 이스라엘 족속의 의뢰가 되지 못할 것이요 이스라엘 족속은 돌이켜 그들을 바라보지 아니하므로 그 죄악이 기억나게 되지 아니하리니 그들이 나를 주 여호와인 줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
  Egypt will no longer be a source of confidence for the people of Israel but will be a reminder of their sin in turning to her for help. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.'"

17. 제 이십칠 년 정월 초일일에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
  In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:

18. 인자야 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 그 군대로 두로를 치게 할 때에 크게 수고하여 각 머리털이 무지러졌고 각 어깨가 벗어졌으나 그와 군대가 그 수고한 보수를 두로에서 얻지 못하였느니라
  "Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon drove his army in a hard campaign against Tyre; every head was rubbed bare and every shoulder made raw. Yet he and his army got no reward from the campaign he led against Tyre.

19. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 애굽 땅을 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게 붙이리니 그가 그 무리를 옮겨 가며 물건을 노략하며 빼앗아 갈 것이라 이것이 그 군대의 보수가 되리라
  Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder the land as pay for his army.

20. 그들의 수고는 나를 위하여 함인즉 그 보수로 내가 애굽 땅을 그에게 주었느니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  I have given him Egypt as a reward for his efforts because he and his army did it for me, declares the Sovereign LORD.

21. 그 날에 내가 이스라엘 족속에게 한 뿔이 솟아나게 하고 내가 또 너로 그들 중에서 입을 열게 하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
  "On that day I will make a horn grow for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am the LORD."

시편 78:1-37

1. 내 백성이여, 내 교훈을 들으며 내 입의 말에 귀를 기울일찌어다
  A maskil of Asaph. O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.

2. 내가 입을 열고 비유를 베풀어서 옛 비밀한 말을 발표하리니
  I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old--

3. 이는 우리가 들은 바요 아는 바요 우리 열조가 우리에게 전한 바라
  what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.

4. 우리가 이를 그 자손에게 숨기지 아니하고 여호와의 영예와 그 능력과 기이한 사적을 후대에 전하리로다
  We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.

5. 여호와께서 증거를 야곱에게 세우시며 법도를 이스라엘에게 정하시고 우리 열조에게 명하사 저희 자손에게 알게 하라 하셨으니
  He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children,

6. 이는 저희로 후대 곧 후생 자손에게 이를 알게 하고 그들은 일어나 그 자손에게 일러서
  so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.

7. 저희로 그 소망을 하나님께 두며 하나님의 행사를 잊지 아니하고 오직 그 계명을 지켜서
  Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

8. 그 열조 곧 완고하고 패역하여 그 마음이 정직하지 못하며 그 심령은 하나님께 충성치 아니한 세대와 같지 않게 하려 하심이로다
  They would not be like their forefathers--a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

9. 에브라임 자손은 병기를 갖추며 활을 가졌으나 전쟁의 날에 물러갔도다
  The men of Ephraim, though armed with bows, turned back on the day of battle;

10. 저희가 하나님의 언약을 지키지 아니하고 그 율법 준행하기를 거절하며
  they did not keep God's covenant and refused to live by his law.

11. 여호와의 행하신 것과 저희에게 보이신 기사를 잊었도다
  They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them.

12. 옛적에 하나님이 애굽 땅 소안 들에서 기이한 일을 저희 열조의 목전에서 행하셨으되
  He did miracles in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan.

13. 저가 바다를 갈라 물을 무더기같이 서게 하시고 저희로 지나게 하셨으며
  He divided the sea and led them through; he made the water stand firm like a wall.

14. 낮에는 구름으로, 온 밤에는 화광으로 인도하셨으며
  He guided them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire all night.

15. 광야에서 반석을 쪼개시고 깊은 수원에서 나는 것같이 저희에게 물을 흡족히 마시우셨으며
  He split the rocks in the desert and gave them water as abundant as the seas;

16. 또 반석에서 시내를 내사 물이 강같이 흐르게 하셨으나
  he brought streams out of a rocky crag and made water flow down like rivers.

17. 저희는 계속하여 하나님께 범죄하여 황야에서 지존자를 배반하였도다
  But they continued to sin against him, rebelling in the desert against the Most High.

18. 저희가 저희 탐욕대로 식물을 구하여 그 심중에 하나님을 시험하였으며
  They willfully put God to the test by demanding the food they craved.

19. 그뿐 아니라 하나님을 대적하여 말하기를 하나님이 광야에서 능히 식탁을 준비하시랴
  They spoke against God, saying, "Can God spread a table in the desert?

20. 저가 반석을 쳐서 물을 내시매 시내가 넘쳤거니와 또 능히 떡을 주시며 그 백성을 위하여 고기를 예비하시랴 하였도다
  When he struck the rock, water gushed out, and streams flowed abundantly. But can he also give us food? Can he supply meat for his people?"

21. 그러므로 여호와께서 듣고 노하심이여 야곱을 향하여 노가 맹렬하며 이스라엘을 향하여 노가 올랐으니
  When the LORD heard them, he was very angry; his fire broke out against Jacob, and his wrath rose against Israel,

22. 이는 하나님을 믿지 아니하며 그 구원을 의지하지 아니한 연고로다
  for they did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance.

23. 그러나 저가 오히려 위의 궁창을 명하시며 하늘 문을 여시고
  Yet he gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens;

24. 저희에게 만나를 비같이 내려 먹이시며 하늘 양식으로 주셨나니
  he rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven.

25. 사람이 권세 있는 자의 떡을 먹음이여 하나님이 식물을 충족히 주셨도다
  Men ate the bread of angels; he sent them all the food they could eat.

26. 저가 동풍으로 하늘에서 일게 하시며 그 권능으로 남풍을 인도하시고
  He let loose the east wind from the heavens and led forth the south wind by his power.

27. 저희에게 고기를 티끌같이 내리시니 곧 바다 모래 같은 나는 새라
  He rained meat down on them like dust, flying birds like sand on the seashore.

28. 그 진중에 떨어지게 하사 그 거처에 둘리셨도다
  He made them come down inside their camp, all around their tents.

29. 저희가 먹고 배불렀나니 하나님이 저희 소욕대로 주셨도다
  They ate till they had more than enough, for he had given them what they craved.

30. 저희가 그 욕심에서 떠나지 아니하고 저희 식물이 아직 그 입에 있을 때에
  But before they turned from the food they craved, even while it was still in their mouths,

31. 하나님이 저희를 대하여 노를 발하사 저희 중 살진 자를 죽이시며 이스라엘의 청년을 쳐 엎드러뜨리셨도다
  God's anger rose against them; he put to death the sturdiest among them, cutting down the young men of Israel.

32. 그럴찌라도 저희가 오히려 범죄하여 그의 기사를 믿지 아니하였으므로
  In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; in spite of his wonders, they did not believe.

33. 하나님이 저희 날을 헛되이 보내게 하시며 저희 해를 두렵게 지내게 하셨도다
  So he ended their days in futility and their years in terror.

34. 하나님이 저희를 죽이실 때에 저희가 그에게 구하며 돌이켜 하나님을 간절히 찾았고
  Whenever God slew them, they would seek him; they eagerly turned to him again.

35. 하나님이 저희의 반석이시요 지존하신 하나님이 저희 구속자이심을 기억하였도다
  They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.

36. 그러나 저희가 입으로 그에게 아첨하며 자기 혀로 그에게 거짓을 말하였으니
  But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues;

37. 이는 하나님께 향하는 저희 마음이 정함이 없으며 그의 언약에 성실치 아니하였음이로다
  their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant.
