사무엘하 10

1. 그 후에 암몬 자손의 왕이 죽고 그 아들 하눈이 대신하여 왕이 되니
  In the course of time, the king of the Ammonites died, and his son Hanun succeeded him as king.

2. 다윗이 가로되 내가 나하스의 아들 하눈에게 은총을 베풀되 그 아비가 내게 은총을 베푼 것같이 하리라 하고 그 신복들을 명하여 그 아비 죽은 것을 조상하라 하니라 다윗의 신복들이 암몬 자손의 땅에 이르매
  David thought, "I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, just as his father showed kindness to me." So David sent a delegation to express his sympathy to Hanun concerning his father. When David's men came to the land of the Ammonites,

3. 암몬 자손의 방백들이 그 주 하눈에게 고하되 왕은 다윗이 조객을 보낸 것이 왕의 부친을 공경함인 줄로 여기시나이까 다윗이 그 신복을 보내어 이 성을 엿보고 탐지하여 함락시키고자 함이 아니니이까
  the Ammonite nobles said to Hanun their lord, "Do you think David is honoring your father by sending men to you to express sympathy? Hasn't David sent them to you to explore the city and spy it out and overthrow it?"

4. 이에 하눈이 다윗의 신복들을 잡아 그 수염 절반을 깎고 그 의복의 중동 볼기까지 자르고 돌려 보내매
  So Hanun seized David's men, shaved off half of each man's beard, cut off their garments in the middle at the buttocks, and sent them away.

5. 혹이 이 일을 다윗에게 고하니라 그 사람들이 크게 부끄러워하므로 왕이 저희를 맞으러 보내어 이르기를 너희는 수염이 자라기까지 여리고에서 머물다가 돌아오라 하니라
  When David was told about this, he sent messengers to meet the men, for they were greatly humiliated. The king said, "Stay at Jericho till your beards have grown, and then come back."

6. 암몬 자손이 자기가 다윗에게 미움이 된 줄 알고 사람을 보내어 벧르홉 아람 사람과 소바 아람 사람의 보병 이만과 마아가 왕과 그 사람 일천과 돕 사람 일만 이천을 고용한지라
  When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench in David's nostrils, they hired twenty thousand Aramean foot soldiers from Beth Rehob and Zobah, as well as the king of Maacah with a thousand men, and also twelve thousand men from Tob.

7. 다윗이 듣고 요압과 용사의 온 무리를 보내매
  On hearing this, David sent Joab out with the entire army of fighting men.

8. 암몬 자손은 나와서 성문 어귀에 진을 쳤고 소바와 르홉 아람 사람과 돕과 마아가 사람들은 따로 들에 있더라
  The Ammonites came out and drew up in battle formation at the entrance to their city gate, while the Arameans of Zobah and Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the open country.

9. 요압이 앞 뒤에 친 적진을 보고 이스라엘의 뺀 자 중에서 또 빼서 아람 사람을 대하여 진치고
  Joab saw that there were battle lines in front of him and behind him; so he selected some of the best troops in Israel and deployed them against the Arameans.

10. 그 남은 무리는 그 아우 아비새의 수하에 붙여 암몬 자손을 대하여 진치게 하고
  He put the rest of the men under the command of Abishai his brother and deployed them against the Ammonites.

11. 가로되 만일 아람 사람이 나보다 강하면 네가 나를 돕고 만일 암몬 자손이 너보다 강하면 내가 가서 너를 도우리라
  Joab said, "If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you are to come to my rescue; but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to rescue you.

12. 너는 담대하라 우리가 우리 백성과 우리 하나님의 성읍들을 위하여 담대히 하자 여호와께서 선히 여기시는 대로 행하시기를 원하노라 하고
  Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight."

13. 요압과 그 종자가 아람 사람을 향하여 싸우려고 나아가니 저희가 그 앞에서 도망하고
  Then Joab and the troops with him advanced to fight the Arameans, and they fled before him.

14. 암몬 자손은 아람 사람의 도망함을 보고 저희도 아비새 앞에서 도망하여 성으로 들어간지라 요압이 암몬 자손을 떠나 예루살렘으로 돌아오니라
  When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans were fleeing, they fled before Abishai and went inside the city. So Joab returned from fighting the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

15. 아람 사람이 자기가 이스라엘 앞에서 패하였음을 보고 다 모이매
  After the Arameans saw that they had been routed by Israel, they regrouped.

16. 하닷에셀이 사람을 보내어 강 건너편에 있는 아람 사람을 불러 내매 저희가 헬람에 이르니 하닷에셀의 군대 장관 소박이 저희를 거느린지라
  Hadadezer had Arameans brought from beyond the River; they went to Helam, with Shobach the commander of Hadadezer's army leading them.

17. 혹이 다윗에게 고하매 저가 온 이스라엘을 모으고 요단을 건너 헬람에 이르매 아람 사람들이 다윗을 향하여 진을 치고 더불어 싸우더니
  When David was told of this, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan and went to Helam. The Arameans formed their battle lines to meet David and fought against him.

18. 아람 사람이 이스라엘 앞에서 도망한지라 다윗이 아람 병거 칠백 승의 사람과 마병 사만을 죽이고 또 그 군대 장관 소박을 치매 거기서 죽으니라
  But they fled before Israel, and David killed seven hundred of their charioteers and forty thousand of their foot soldiers. He also struck down Shobach the commander of their army, and he died there.

19. 하닷에셀에게 속한 왕들이 자기가 이스라엘 앞에서 패함을 보고 이스라엘과 화친하고 섬기니 이러므로 아람 사람들이 두려워하여 다시는 암몬 자손을 돕지 아니하니라
  When all the kings who were vassals of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with the Israelites and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites anymore.

고린도후서 3

1. 우리가 다시 자천하기를 시작하겠느냐 우리가 어찌 어떤 사람처럼 천거서를 너희에게 부치거나 혹 너희에게 맡거나 할 필요가 있느냐
  Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you?

2. 너희가 우리의 편지라 우리 마음에 썼고 뭇 사람이 알고 읽는 바라
  You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody.

3. 너희는 우리로 말미암아 나타난 그리스도의 편지니 이는 먹으로 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 살아 계신 하나님의 영으로 한 것이며 또 돌비에 쓴 것이 아니요 오직 육의 심비에 한 것이라
  You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

4. 우리가 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님을 향하여 이같은 확신이 있으니
  Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God.

5. 우리가 무슨 일이든지 우리에게서 난 것같이 생각하여 스스로 만족할 것이 아니니 우리의 만족은 오직 하나님께로서 났느니라
  Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

6. 저가 또 우리로 새 언약의 일군 되기에 만족케 하셨으니 의문으로 하지 아니하고 오직 영으로 함이니 의문은 죽이는 것이요 영은 살리는 것임이니라
  He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

7. 돌에 써서 새긴 죽게 하는 의문의 직분도 영광이 있어 이스라엘 자손들이 모세의 얼굴의 없어질 영광을 인하여 그 얼굴을 주목하지 못하였거든
  Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was,

8. 하물며 영의 직분이 더욱 영광이 있지 아니하겠느냐
  will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?

9. 정죄의 직분도 영광이 있은즉 의의 직분은 영광이 더욱 넘치리라
  If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!

10. 영광되었던 것이 더 큰 영광을 인하여 이에 영광될 것이 없으나
  For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory.

11. 없어질 것도 영광으로 말미암았은즉 길이 있을 것은 더욱 영광 가운데 있느니라
  And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

12. 우리가 이같은 소망이 있으므로 담대히 말하노니
  Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.

13. 우리는 모세가 이스라엘 자손들로 장차 없어질 것의 결국을 주목치 못하게 하려고 수건을 그 얼굴에 쓴 것같이 아니하노라
  We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away.

14. 그러나 저희 마음이 완고하여 오늘까지라도 구약을 읽을 때에 그 수건이 오히려 벗어지지 아니하고 있으니 그 수건은 그리스도 안에서 없어질 것이라
  But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.

15. 오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 수건이 오히려 그 마음을 덮었도다
  Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

16. 그러나 언제든지 주께로 돌아가면 그 수건이 벗어지리라
  But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

17. 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유함이 있느니라
  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

18. 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는 것같이 주의 영광을 보매 저와 같은 형상으로 화하여 영광으로 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라
  And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

에스겔 17

1. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
  The word of the LORD came to me:

2. 인자야 너는 수수께끼와 비유를 이스라엘 족속에게 베풀어
  "Son of man, set forth an allegory and tell the house of Israel a parable.

3. 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 채색이 구비하고 날개가 크고 깃이 길고 털이 숱한 큰 독수리가 레바논에 이르러 백향목 높은 가지를 취하되
  Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: A great eagle with powerful wings, long feathers and full plumage of varied colors came to Lebanon. Taking hold of the top of a cedar,

4. 그 연한 가지 끝을 꺾어 가지고 장사하는 땅에 이르러 상고의 성읍에 두고
  he broke off its topmost shoot and carried it away to a land of merchants, where he planted it in a city of traders.

5. 또 그 땅의 종자를 취하여 옥토에 심되 수양버들 가지처럼 큰 물가에 심더니
  "'He took some of the seed of your land and put it in fertile soil. He planted it like a willow by abundant water,

6. 그것이 자라며 퍼져서 높지 아니한 포도나무 곧 굵은 가지와 가는 가지가 난 포도나무가 되어 그 가지는 독수리를 향하였고 그 뿌리는 독수리의 아래 있었더라
  and it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine. Its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. So it became a vine and produced branches and put out leafy boughs.

7. 또 날개가 크고 털이 많은 큰 독수리 하나가 있었는데 그 포도나무가 이 독수리에게 물을 받으려고 그 심긴 두둑에서 그를 향하여 뿌리가 발하고 가지가 퍼졌도다
  "'But there was another great eagle with powerful wings and full plumage. The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water.

8. 그 포도나무를 큰 물가 옥토에 심은 것은 가지를 내고 열매를 맺어서 아름다운 포도나무를 이루게 하려 하였음이니라
  It had been planted in good soil by abundant water so that it would produce branches, bear fruit and become a splendid vine.'

9. 너는 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀에 그 나무가 능히 번성하겠느냐 이 독수리가 어찌 그 뿌리를 빼고 실과를 따며 그 나무로 시들게 하지 아니하겠으며 그 연한 잎사귀로 마르게 하지 아니하겠느냐 많은 백성이나 강한 팔이 아니라도 그 뿌리를 뽑으리라
  "Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Will it thrive? Will it not be uprooted and stripped of its fruit so that it withers? All its new growth will wither. It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by the roots.

10. 볼찌어다 그것이 심겼으나 번성하겠느냐 동풍이 부딪힐 때에 아주 마르지 아니하겠느냐 그 자라던 두둑에서 마르리라 하셨다 하라
  Even if it is transplanted, will it thrive? Will it not wither completely when the east wind strikes it--wither away in the plot where it grew?'"

11. 여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to me:

12. 너는 패역한 족속에게 묻기를 너희가 이 비유를 깨닫지 못하겠느냐 하고 그들에게 고하기를 바벨론 왕이 예루살렘에 이르러 왕과 방백을 사로잡아 바벨론 자기에게로 끌어가고
  "Say to this rebellious house, 'Do you not know what these things mean?' Say to them: 'The king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and carried off her king and her nobles, bringing them back with him to Babylon.

13. 그 왕족 중에 하나를 택하여 언약을 세우고 그로 맹세케 하고 또 그 땅의 능한 자들을 옮겨 갔나니
  Then he took a member of the royal family and made a treaty with him, putting him under oath. He also carried away the leading men of the land,

14. 이는 나라를 낮추어 스스로 서지 못하고 그 언약을 지켜야 능히 서게 하려 하였음이어늘
  so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to rise again, surviving only by keeping his treaty.

15. 그가 사자를 애굽에 보내어 말과 군대를 구함으로 바벨론 왕을 배반하였으니 형통하겠느냐 이런 일을 행한 자가 피하겠느냐 언약을 배반하고야 피하겠느냐
  But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape?

16. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노니 바벨론 왕이 그를 왕으로 세웠거늘 그가 맹세를 업신여겨 언약을 배반하였은즉 그 왕의 거하는 곳 바벨론 중에서 왕과 함께 있다가 죽을 것이라
  "'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke.

17. 대적이 토성을 쌓으며 운제를 세우고 많은 사람을 멸절하려 할 때에 바로가 그 큰 군대와 많은 무리로도 그 전쟁에 그를 도와 주지 못하리라
  Pharaoh with his mighty army and great horde will be of no help to him in war, when ramps are built and siege works erected to destroy many lives.

18. 그가 이미 손을 내어 밀어 언약하였거늘 맹세를 업신여겨 언약을 배반하고 이 모든 일을 행하였으니 피하지 못하리라
  He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Because he had given his hand in pledge and yet did all these things, he shall not escape.

19. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노니 그가 내 맹세를 업신여기고 내 언약을 배반하였은즉 내가 그 죄를 그 머리에 돌리되
  "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: As surely as I live, I will bring down on his head my oath that he despised and my covenant that he broke.

20. 내 그물을 그 위에 베풀며 내 올무에 걸리게 하여 끌고 바벨론으로 가서 나를 반역한 그 반역을 거기서 국문할찌며
  I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment upon him there because he was unfaithful to me.

21. 그 모든 군대에서 도망한 자들은 다 칼에 엎드러질 것이요 그 남은 자는 사방으로 흩어지리니 나 여호와가 이것을 말한 줄을 너희가 알리라
  All his fleeing troops will fall by the sword, and the survivors will be scattered to the winds. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken.

22. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 또 백향목 꼭대기에서 높은 가지를 취하여 심으리라 내가 그 높은 새 가지 끝에서 연한 가지를 꺾어 높고 빼어난 산에 심되
  "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.

23. 이스라엘 높은 산에 심으리니 그 가지가 무성하고 열매를 맺어서 아름다운 백향목을 이룰 것이요 각양 새가 그 아래 깃들이며 그 가지 그늘에 거할찌라
  On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar. Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.

24. 들의 모든 나무가 나 여호와는 높은 나무를 낮추고 낮은 나무를 높이며 푸른 나무를 말리우고 마른 나무를 무성케 하는 줄 알리라 나 여호와는 말하고 이루느니라 하라
  All the trees of the field will know that I the LORD bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. "'I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.'"

시편 60-61

1. 하나님이여 주께서 우리를 버려 흩으셨고 분노하셨사오나 지금은 우리를 회복시키소서
  For the director of music. To the tune of"The Lily of the Covenant." A miktam of David. For teaching. When he fought Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah, and when Joab returned and struck down twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. You have rejected us, O God, and burst forth upon us; you have been angry--now restore us!

2. 주께서 땅을 진동시키사 갈라지게 하셨사오니 그 틈을 기우소서 땅이 요동함이니이다
  You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.

3. 주께서 주의 백성에게 어려움을 보이시고 비척거리게 하는 포도주로 우리에게 마시우셨나이다
  You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger.

4. 주를 경외하는 자에게 기를 주시고 진리를 위하여 달게 하셨나이다 (셀라)
  But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow. Selah

5. 주의 사랑하시는 자를 건지시기 위하여 우리에게 응답하사 오른손으로 구원하소서
  Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.

6. 하나님이 그 거룩하심으로 말씀하시되 내가 뛰놀리라 내가 세겜을 나누며 숙곳 골짜기를 척량하리라
  God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth.

7. 길르앗이 내 것이요 므낫세도 내 것이며 에브라임은 내 머리의 보호자요 유다는 나의 홀이며
  Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter.

8. 모압은 내 목욕통이라 에돔에는 내 신을 던지리라 블레셋아 나를 인하여 외치라 하셨도다
  Moab is my washbasin, upon Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph."

9. 누가 나를 이끌어 견고한 성에 들이며 누가 나를 에돔에 인도할꼬
  Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?

10. 하나님이여 주께서 우리를 버리지 아니하셨나이까 하나님이여 주께서 우리 군대와 함께 나아가지 아니하시나이다
  Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?

11. 우리를 도와 대적을 치게 하소서 사람의 구원은 헛됨이니이다
  Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.

12. 우리가 하나님을 의지하고 용감히 행하리니 저는 우리의 대적을 밟으실 자심이로다
  With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

1. 하나님이여 나의 부르짖음을 들으시며 내 기도에 유의하소서
  For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

2. 내 마음이 눌릴 때에 땅 끝에서부터 주께 부르짖으오리니 나보다 높은 바위에 나를 인도하소서
  From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3. 주는 나의 피난처시요 원수를 피하는 견고한 망대심이니이다
  For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

4. 내가 영원히 주의 장막에 거하며 내가 주의 날개 밑에 피하리이다 (셀라)
  I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah

5. 하나님이여 내 서원을 들으시고 주의 이름을 경외하는 자의 얻을 기업을 내게 주셨나이다
  For you have heard my vows, O God; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6. 주께서 왕으로 장수케 하사 그 나이 여러 대에 미치게 하시리이다
  Increase the days of the king's life, his years for many generations.

7. 저가 영원히 하나님 앞에 거하리니 인자와 진리를 예비하사 저를 보호하소서
  May he be enthroned in God's presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

8. 그리하시면 내가 주의 이름을 영원히 찬양하며 매일 나의 서원을 이행하리이다
  Then will I ever sing praise to your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
