사무엘하 8-9

1. 이 후에 다윗이 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 항복 받고 블레셋 사람의 손에서 메덱암마를 빼앗으니라
  In the course of time, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Metheg Ammah from the control of the Philistines.

2. 다윗이 또 모압을 쳐서 저희로 땅에 엎드리게 하고 줄로 재어 그 두 줄 길이의 사람은 죽이고 한 줄 길이의 사람은 살리니 모압 사람이 다윗의 종이 되어 조공을 바치니라
  David also defeated the Moabites. He made them lie down on the ground and measured them off with a length of cord. Every two lengths of them were put to death, and the third length was allowed to live. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought tribute.

3. 르홉의 아들 소바 왕 하닷에셀이 자기 권세를 회복하려고 유브라데 강으로 갈 때에 다윗이 저를 쳐서
  Moreover, David fought Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when he went to restore his control along the Euphrates River.

4. 그 마병 일천칠백과 보병 이만을 사로잡고 병거 일백 승의 말만 남기고 그 외의 병거의 말은 다 발의 힘줄을 끊었더니
  David captured a thousand of his chariots, seven thousand charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiers. He hamstrung all but a hundred of the chariot horses.

5. 다메섹 아람 사람들이 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 도우러 온지라 다윗이 아람 사람 이만 이천을 죽이고
  When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of them.

6. 다메섹 아람에 수비대를 두매 아람 사람이 다윗의 종이 되어 조공을 바치니라 다윗이 어디를 가든지 여호와께서 이기게 하시니라
  He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The LORD gave David victory wherever he went.

7. 다윗이 하닷에셀의 신복들의 가진 금방패를 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져오고
  David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

8. 또 하닷에셀의 고을 베다와 베로대에서 매우 많은 놋을 빼앗으니라
  From Tebah and Berothai, towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.

9. 하맛 왕 도이가 다윗이 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳐서 파하였다 함을 듣고
  When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,

10. 그 아들 요람을 보내어 다윗 왕에게 문안하고 축복하게 하니 이는 하닷에셀이 도이로 더불어 전쟁이 있던 터에 다윗이 하닷에셀을 쳐서 파함이라 요람이 은그릇과 금그릇과 놋그릇을 가지고 온지라
  he sent his son Joram to King David to greet him and congratulate him on his victory in battle over Hadadezer, who had been at war with Tou. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze.

11. 다윗 왕이 그것도 여호와께 드리되 저가 정복한 모든 나라에서 얻은 은금
  King David dedicated these articles to the LORD, as he had done with the silver and gold from all the nations he had subdued:

12. 곧 아람과 모압과 암몬 자손과 블레셋 사람과 아말렉에게서 얻은 것들과 소바 왕 르홉의 아들 하닷에셀에게서 노략한 것과 같이 드리니라
  Edom and Moab, the Ammonites and the Philistines, and Amalek. He also dedicated the plunder taken from Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13. 다윗이 염곡에서 에돔 사람 일만 팔천을 쳐죽이고 돌아와서 명예를 얻으니라
  And David became famous after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

14. 다윗이 에돔에 수비대를 두되 온 에돔에 수비대를 두니 에돔 사람이 다 다윗의 종이 되니라 다윗이 어디를 가든지 여호와께서 이기게 하셨더라
  He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subject to David. The LORD gave David victory wherever he went.

15. 다윗이 온 이스라엘을 다스려 모든 백성에게 공과 의를 행할쌔
  David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people.

16. 스루야의 아들 요압은 군대 장관이 되고 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 사관이 되고
  Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder;

17. 아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장이 되고 스라야는 서기관이 되고
  Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was secretary;

18. 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람을 관할하고 다윗의 아들들은 대신이 되니라
  Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites; and David's sons were royal advisers.

1. 다윗이 가로되 사울의 집에 오히려 남은 사람이 있느냐 내가 요나단을 인하여 그 사람에게 은총을 베풀리라 하니라
  David asked, "Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

2. 사울의 종 하나가 있으니 그 이름은 시바라 저를 다윗의 앞으로 부르매 왕이 저에게 묻되 네가 시바냐 가로되 종이 그로소이다
  Now there was a servant of Saul's household named Ziba. They called him to appear before David, and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" "Your servant," he replied.

3. 왕이 가로되 사울의 집에 남은 사람이 없느냐 내가 그 사람에게 하나님의 은총을 베풀고자 하노라 시바가 왕께 고하되 요나단의 아들 하나가 있는데 절뚝발이니이다
  The king asked, "Is there no one still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show God's kindness?" Ziba answered the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in both feet."

4. 왕이 저에게 묻되 그가 어디 있느냐 시바가 왕에게 고하되 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있나이다
  "Where is he?" the king asked. Ziba answered, "He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar."

5. 다윗 왕이 사람을 보내어 로드발 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 저를 데려오니
  So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel.

6. 사울의 손자 요나단의 아들 므비보셋이 다윗에게 나아와서 엎드려 절하매 다윗이 가로되 므비보셋이여 하니 대답하되 주의 종이 여기 있나이다
  When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, "Mephibosheth!" "Your servant," he replied.

7. 다윗이 가로되 무서워 말라 내가 반드시 네 아비 요나단을 인하여 네게 은총을 베풀리라 내가 네 조부 사울의 밭을 다 네게 도로 주겠고 또 너는 항상 내 상에서 먹을찌니라
  "Don't be afraid," David said to him, "for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table."

8. 저가 절하여 가로되 이 종이 무엇이관대 왕께서 죽은 개 같은 나를 돌아보시나이까
  Mephibosheth bowed down and said, "What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?"

9. 왕이 사울의 사환 시바를 불러서 이르되 사울과 그 온 집에 속한 것은 내가 다 네 주인의 아들에게 주었노니
  Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "I have given your master's grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family.

10. 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 저를 위하여 밭을 갈고 거두어 네 주인의 아들을 공궤하라 그러나 네 주인의 아들 므비보셋은 항상 내 상에서 먹으리라 하니라 시바는 아들이 열다섯이요 종이 스물이라
  You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master's grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table." (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.)

11. 시바가 왕께 고하되 내 주 왕께서 온갖 일을 종에게 명하신 대로 종이 준행하겠나이다 하니라 므비보셋은 왕자 중 하나처럼 왕의 상에서 먹으니라
  Then Ziba said to the king, "Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do." So Mephibosheth ate at David's table like one of the king's sons.

12. 므비보셋에게 젊은 아들 하나가 있으니 이름은 미가더라 무릇 시바의 집에 거하는 자들은 므비보셋의 종이 되니라
  Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica, and all the members of Ziba's household were servants of Mephibosheth.

13. 므비보셋이 항상 왕의 상에서 먹으므로 예루살렘에 거하니라 그는 두 발이 다 절뚝이더라
  And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king's table, and he was crippled in both feet.

고린도후서 2

1. 내가 다시 근심으로 너희에게 나아가지 않기로 스스로 결단하였노니
  So I made up my mind that I would not make another painful visit to you.

2. 내가 너희를 근심하게 하면 나의 근심하게 한 자밖에 나를 기쁘게 하는 자가 누구냐
  For if I grieve you, who is left to make me glad but you whom I have grieved?

3. 내가 이같이 쓴 것은 내가 갈 때에 마땅히 나를 기쁘게 할 자로부터 도리어 근심을 얻을까 염려함이요 또 너희 무리를 대하여 나의 기쁨이 너희 무리의 기쁨인 줄 확신함이로라
  I wrote as I did so that when I came I should not be distressed by those who ought to make me rejoice. I had confidence in all of you, that you would all share my joy.

4. 내가 큰 환난과 애통한 마음이 있어 많은 눈물로 너희에게 썼노니 이는 너희로 근심하게 하려 한 것이 아니요 오직 내가 너희를 향하여 넘치는 사랑이 있음을 너희로 알게 하려 함이라
  For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you.

5. 근심하게 한 자가 있었을찌라도 나를 근심하게 한것이 아니요 어느 정도 너희 무리를 근심하게 한 것이니 어느 정도라 함은 내가 너무 심하게 하지 아니하려 함이라
  If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent--not to put it too severely.

6. 이러한 사람이 많은 사람에게서 벌받은 것이 족하도다
  The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for him.

7. 그런즉 너희는 차라리 저를 용서하고 위로할 것이니 저가 너무 많은 근심에 잠길까 두려워하노라
  Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

8. 그러므로 너희를 권하노니 사랑을 저희에게 나타내라
  I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.

9. 너희가 범사에 순종하는지 그 증거를 알고자 하여 내가 이것을 너희에게 썼노라
  The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.

10. 너희가 무슨 일이든지 뉘게 용서하면 나도 그리하고 내가 만일 용서한 일이 있으면 용서한 그것은 너희를 위하여 그리스도 앞에서 한 것이니
  If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven--if there was anything to forgive--I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,

11. 이는 우리로 사단에게 속지 않게 하려 함이라 우리가 그 궤계를 알지 못하는 바가 아니로라
  in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

12. 내가 그리스도의 복음을 위하여 드로아에 이르매 주 안에서 문이 내게 열렸으되
  Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,

13. 내가 내 형제 디도를 만나지 못하므로 내 심령이 편치 못하여 저희를 작별하고 마게도냐로 갔노라
  I still had no peace of mind, because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-by to them and went on to Macedonia.

14. 항상 우리를 그리스도 안에서 이기게 하시고 우리로 말미암아 각처에서 그리스도를 아는 냄새를 나타내시는 하나님께 감사하노라
  But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

15. 우리는 구원 얻는 자들에게나 망하는 자들에게나 하나님 앞에서 그리스도의 향기니
  For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

16. 이 사람에게는 사망으로 좇아 사망에 이르는 냄새요 저 사람에게는 생명으로 좇아 생명에 이르는 냄새라 누가 이것을 감당하리요
  To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?

17. 우리는 수다한 사람과 같이 하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 하지 아니하고 곧 순전함으로 하나님께 받은 것같이 하나님 앞에서와 그리스도 안에서 말하노라
  Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.

에스겔 16

1. 여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
  The word of the LORD came to me:

2. 인자야 예루살렘으로 그 가증한 일을 알게 하여
  "Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices

3. 이르기를 주 여호와께서 예루살렘에 대하여 말씀하시되 네 근본과 난 땅은 가나안이요 네 아비는 아모리 사람이요 네 어미는 헷 사람이라
  and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says to Jerusalem: Your ancestry and birth were in the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

4. 너의 난 것을 말하건대 네가 날 때에 네 배꼽줄을 자르지 아니하였고 너를 물로 씻어 정결케 하지 아니하였고 네게 소금을 뿌리지 아니하였고 너를 강보로 싸지도 아니하였나니
  On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

5. 너를 돌아보아 이 중에 한 가지라도 네게 행하여 너를 긍휼히 여긴 자가 없었으므로 네가 나던 날에 네 몸이 꺼린 바 되어 네가 들에 버리웠었느니라
  No one looked on you with pity or had compassion enough to do any of these things for you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open field, for on the day you were born you were despised.

6. 내가 네 곁으로 지나갈 때에 네가 피투성이가 되어 발짓하는 것을 보고 네게 이르기를 너는 피투성이라도 살라 다시 이르기를 너는 피투성이라도 살라 하고
  "'Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, "Live!"

7. 내가 너로 들의 풀같이 많게 하였더니 네가 크게 자라고 심히 아름다우며 유방이 뚜렷하고 네 머리털이 자랐으나 네가 오히려 벌거벗은 적신이더라
  I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.

8. 내가 네 곁으로 지나며 보니 네 때가 사랑스러운 때라 내 옷으로 너를 덮어 벌거벗은 것을 가리우고 네게 맹세하고 언약하여 너로 내게 속하게 하였었느니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  "'Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine.

9. 내가 물로 너를 씻겨서 네 피를 없이 하며 네게 기름을 바르고
  "'I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you.

10. 수놓은 옷을 입히고 물돼지 가죽신을 신기고 가는 베로 띠우고 명주로 덧입히고
  I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments.

11. 패물을 채우고 팔 고리를 손목에 끼우고 사슬을 목에 드리우고
  I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck,

12. 코고리를 코에 달고 귀고리를 귀에 달고 화려한 면류관을 머리에 씌웠나니
  and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

13. 이와 같이 네가 금, 은으로 장식하고 가는 베와 명주와 수놓은 것을 입으며 또 고운 밀가루와 꿀과 기름을 먹음으로 극히 곱고 형통하여 왕후의 지위에 나아갔느니라
  So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.

14. 네 화려함을 인하여 네 명성이 이방인 중에 퍼졌음은 내가 네게 입힌 영화로 네 화려함이 온전함이니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD.

15. 그러나 네가 네 화려함을 믿고 네 명성을 인하여 행음하되 무릇 지나가는 자면 더불어 음란을 많이 행하므로 네 몸이 그들의 것이 되도다
  "'But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his.

16. 네가 네 의복을 취하여 색스러운 산당을 너를 위하여 만들고 거기서 행음하였나니 이런 일은 전무후무하니라
  You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. Such things should not happen, nor should they ever occur.

17. 네가 또 나의 준 금, 은 장식품으로 너를 위하여 남자 우상을 만들어 행음하며
  You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them.

18. 또 네 수놓은 옷으로 그 우상에게 입히고 나의 기름과 향으로 그 앞에 베풀며
  And you took your embroidered clothes to put on them, and you offered my oil and incense before them.

19. 또 내가 네게 주어 먹게 한 내 식물 곧 고운 밀가루와 기름과 꿀을 네가 그 앞에 베풀어 향기를 삼았나니 과연 그렇게 하였느니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  Also the food I provided for you--the fine flour, olive oil and honey I gave you to eat--you offered as fragrant incense before them. That is what happened, declares the Sovereign LORD.

20. 또 네가 나를 위하여 낳은 네 자녀를 가져 그들에게 드려 제물을 삼아 불살랐느니라 네가 너의 음행을 작은 일로 여겨서
  "'And you took your sons and daughters whom you bore to me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. Was your prostitution not enough?

21. 나의 자녀들을 죽여 우상에게 붙여 불 가운데로 지나가게 하였느냐
  You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

22. 네 어렸을 때에 벌거벗어 적신이었으며 피투성이가 되어서 발짓하던 것을 기억지 아니하고 네가 모든 가증한 일과 음란을 행하였느니라
  In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood.

23. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 너는 화 있을찐저 화 있을찐저 네가 모든 악을 행한 후에
  "'Woe! Woe to you, declares the Sovereign LORD. In addition to all your other wickedness,

24. 너를 위하여 누를 건축하며 모든 거리에 높은 대를 쌓았도다
  you built a mound for yourself and made a lofty shrine in every public square.

25. 네가 높은 대를 모든 길머리에 쌓고 네 아름다움을 가증하게 하여 모든 지나가는 자에게 다리를 벌려 심히 행음하고
  At the head of every street you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty, offering your body with increasing promiscuity to anyone who passed by.

26. 하체가 큰 네 이웃 나라 애굽 사람과도 행음하되 심히 음란히 하여 내 노를 격동하였도다
  You engaged in prostitution with the Egyptians, your lustful neighbors, and provoked me to anger with your increasing promiscuity.

27. 그러므로 내가 내 손을 네 위에 펴서 네 일용 양식을 감하고 너를 미워하는 블레셋 여자 곧 네 더러운 행실을 부끄러워하는 자에게 너를 붙여 임의로 하게 하였거늘
  So I stretched out my hand against you and reduced your territory; I gave you over to the greed of your enemies, the daughters of the Philistines, who were shocked by your lewd conduct.

28. 네가 음욕이 차지 아니하여 또 앗수르 사람과 행음하고 그들과 행음하고도 오히려 부족히 여겨
  You engaged in prostitution with the Assyrians too, because you were insatiable; and even after that, you still were not satisfied.

29. 장사하는 땅 갈대아에까지 심히 행음하되 오히려 족한 줄을 알지 못하였느니라
  Then you increased your promiscuity to include Babylonia, a land of merchants, but even with this you were not satisfied.

30. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 네가 이 모든 일을 행하니 이는 방자한 음부의 행위라 네 마음이 어찌 그리 약한지
  "'How weak-willed you are, declares the Sovereign LORD, when you do all these things, acting like a brazen prostitute!

31. 네가 누를 모든 길머리에 건축하며 높은 대를 모든 거리에 쌓고도 값을 싫어하니 창기 같지도 않도다
  When you built your mounds at the head of every street and made your lofty shrines in every public square, you were unlike a prostitute, because you scorned payment.

32. 그 지아비 대신에 외인과 사통하여 간음하는 아내로다
  "'You adulterous wife! You prefer strangers to your own husband!

33. 사람들은 모든 창기에게 선물을 주거늘 오직 너는 네 모든 정든 자에게 선물을 주며 값을 주어서 사방에서 와서 너와 행음하게 하니
  Every prostitute receives a fee, but you give gifts to all your lovers, bribing them to come to you from everywhere for your illicit favors.

34. 너의 음란함이 다른 여인과 같지 아니함은 행음하려고 너를 따르는 자가 없음이며 또 네가 값을 받지 아니하고 도리어 줌이라 그런즉 다른 여인과 같지 아니하니라
  So in your prostitution you are the opposite of others; no one runs after you for your favors. You are the very opposite, for you give payment and none is given to you.

35. 그러므로 너 음부야 여호와의 말을 들을찌어다
  "'Therefore, you prostitute, hear the word of the LORD!

36. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 네가 네 누추한 것을 쏟으며 네 정든 자와 행음함으로 벗은 몸을 드러내며 또 가증한 우상을 위하며 네 자녀의 피를 그 우상에게 드렸은즉
  This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your promiscuity with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols, and because you gave them your children's blood,

37. 내가 너의 즐거워하는 정든 자와 사랑하던 모든 자와 미워하던 모든 자를 모으되 사방에서 모아 너를 대적하게 할 것이요 또 네 벗은 몸을 그 앞에 드러내어 그들로 그것을 다 보게 할 것이며
  therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see all your nakedness.

38. 내가 또 간음하고 사람의 피를 흘리는 여인을 국문함같이 너를 국문하여 진노의 피와 투기의 피를 네게 돌리고
  I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring upon you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.

39. 내가 또 너를 그들의 손에 붙이리니 그들이 네 누를 헐며 네 높은 대를 훼파하며 네 의복을 벗기고 네 장식품을 빼앗고 네 몸을 벌거벗겨 버려 두며
  Then I will hand you over to your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. They will strip you of your clothes and take your fine jewelry and leave you naked and bare.

40. 무리를 데리고 와서 너를 돌로 치며 칼로 찌르며
  They will bring a mob against you, who will stone you and hack you to pieces with their swords.

41. 불로 너의 집들을 사르고 여러 여인의 목전에서 너를 벌할찌라 내가 너로 곧 음행을 그치게 하리니 네가 다시는 값을 주지 아니하리라
  They will burn down your houses and inflict punishment on you in the sight of many women. I will put a stop to your prostitution, and you will no longer pay your lovers.

42. 그리한즉 내가 네게 대한 내 분노가 그치며 내 투기가 네게서 떠나고 마음이 평안하여 다시는 노하지 아니하리라
  Then my wrath against you will subside and my jealous anger will turn away from you; I will be calm and no longer angry.

43. 네가 어렸을 때를 기억지 아니하고 이 모든 일로 나를 격노케 하였은즉 내가 네 행위대로 네 머리에 보응하리니 네가 이 음란과 네 모든 가증한 일을 다시는 행하지 아니하리라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  "'Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will surely bring down on your head what you have done, declares the Sovereign LORD. Did you not add lewdness to all your other detestable practices?

44. 무릇 속담하는 자가 네게 대하여 속담하기를 어미가 어떠하면 딸도 그렇다 하리라
  "'Everyone who quotes proverbs will quote this proverb about you: "Like mother, like daughter."

45. 너는 그 남편과 자녀를 싫어한 어미의 딸이요 너는 그 남편과 자녀를 싫어한 형의 동생이로다 네 어미는 헷 사람이요 네 아비는 아모리 사람이며
  You are a true daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and her children; and you are a true sister of your sisters, who despised their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

46. 네 형은 그 딸들과 함께 네 좌편에 거하는 사마리아요 네 아우는 그 딸들과 함께 네 우편에 거하는 소돔이라
  Your older sister was Samaria, who lived to the north of you with her daughters; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you with her daughters, was Sodom.

47. 네가 그들의 행위대로만 행치 아니하며 그 가증한 대로만 행치 아니하고 그것을 적게 여겨서 네 모든 행위가 그보다 더욱 부패하였도다
  You not only walked in their ways and copied their detestable practices, but in all your ways you soon became more depraved than they.

48. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노니 네 아우 소돔 곧 그와 그 딸들은 너와 네 딸들의 행위같이 행치 아니하였느니라
  As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did what you and your daughters have done.

49. 네 아우 소돔의 죄악은 이러하니 그와 그 딸들에게 교만함과 식물의 풍족함과 태평함이 있음이며 또 그가 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 도와 주지 아니하며
  "'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.

50. 거만하여 가증한 일을 내 앞에서 행하였음이라 그러므로 내가 보고 곧 그들을 없이 하였느니라
  They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.

51. 사마리아는 네 죄의 절반도 범치 아니하였느니라 네가 그들보다 가증한 일을 심히 행한 고로 너의 가증한 행위로 네 형과 아우를 의롭게 하였느니라
  Samaria did not commit half the sins you did. You have done more detestable things than they, and have made your sisters seem righteous by all these things you have done.

52. 네가 네 형과 아우를 논단하였은즉 너도 네 수치를 담당할찌니라 네가 그들보다 더욱 가증한 죄를 범하므로 그들이 너보다 의롭게 되었나니 네가 네 형과 아우를 의롭게 하였은즉 너는 놀라며 네 수치를 담당할찌니라
  Bear your disgrace, for you have furnished some justification for your sisters. Because your sins were more vile than theirs, they appear more righteous than you. So then, be ashamed and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous.

53. 내가 그들의 사로잡힘 곧 소돔과 그 딸들의 사로잡힘과 사마리아와 그 딸들의 사로잡힘과 그들 중에 너의 사로잡힌 자의 사로잡힘을 돌이켜서
  "'However, I will restore the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and of Samaria and her daughters, and your fortunes along with them,

54. 너로 네 수욕을 담당하고 너의 행한 모든 일을 인하여 부끄럽게 하리니 이는 네가 그들에게 위로가 됨이라
  so that you may bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all you have done in giving them comfort.

55. 네 아우 소돔과 그 딸들이 옛 지위를 회복할 것이요 사마리아와 그 딸들도 그 옛 지위를 회복할 것이며 너와 네 딸들도 너희 옛 지위를 회복할 것이니라
  And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to what they were before; and you and your daughters will return to what you were before.

56. 네가 교만하던 때에 네 아우 소돔을 네 입으로 말하지도 아니하였나니
  You would not even mention your sister Sodom in the day of your pride,

57. 곧 네 악이 드러나기 전에며 아람 딸들이 너를 능욕하기 전에며 너의 사방에 둘러 있는 블레셋 딸들이 너를 멸시하기 전에니라
  before your wickedness was uncovered. Even so, you are now scorned by the daughters of Edom and all her neighbors and the daughters of the Philistines--all those around you who despise you.

58. 네 음란과 네 가증한 일을 네가 담당하였느니라 나 여호와의 말이니라
  You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the LORD.

59. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 네가 맹세를 멸시하여 언약을 배반하였은즉 내가 네 행한 대로 네게 행하리라
  "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant.

60. 그러나 내가 너의 어렸을 때에 너와 세운 언약을 기억하고 너와 영원한 언약을 세우리라
  Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

61. 네가 네 형과 아우를 접대할 때에 네 행위를 기억하고 부끄러워할 것이라 내가 그들을 네게 딸로 주려니와 네 언약으로 말미암음이 아니니라
  Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger. I will give them to you as daughters, but not on the basis of my covenant with you.

62. 내가 네게 내 언약을 세워서 너로 나를 여호와인 줄 알게 하리니
  So I will establish my covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD.

63. 이는 내가 네 모든 행한 일을 용서한 후에 너로 기억하고 놀라고 부끄러워서 다시는 입을 열지 못하게 하려 함이니라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라 하셨다 하라
  Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign LORD.'"

시편 58-59

1. 인자들아 너희가 당연히 공의를 말하겠거늘 어찌 잠잠하느뇨 너희가 정직히 판단하느뇨
  For the director of music. To the tune of"Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam. Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men?

2. 오히려 너희가 중심에 악을 행하며 땅에서 너희 손의 강포를 달아주는도다
  No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth.

3. 악인은 모태에서부터 멀어졌음이여 나면서부터 곁길로 나아가 거짓을 말하는도다
  Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

4. 저희의 독은 뱀의 독 같으며 저희는 귀를 막은 귀머거리 독사 같으니
  Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,

5. 곧 술사가 아무리 공교한 방술을 행할찌라도 그 소리를 듣지 아니하는 독사로다
  that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be.

6. 하나님이여 저희 입에서 이를 꺾으소서 여호와여 젊은 사자의 어금니를 꺾어 내시며
  Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; tear out, O LORD, the fangs of the lions!

7. 저희로 급히 흐르는 물같이 사라지게 하시며 겨누는 살이 꺾임 같게 하시며
  Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows be blunted.

8. 소멸하여 가는 달팽이 같게 하시며 만기되지 못하여 출생한 자가 일광을 보지 못함 같게 하소서
  Like a slug melting away as it moves along, like a stillborn child, may they not see the sun.

9. 가시나무 불이 가마를 더웁게 하기 전에 저가 생것과 불붙는 것을 회리바람으로 제하여 버리시리로다
  Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns--whether they be green or dry--the wicked will be swept away.

10. 의인은 악인의 보복당함을 보고 기뻐함이여 그 발을 악인의 피에 씻으리로다
  The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

11. 때에 사람의 말이 진실로 의인에게 갚음이 있고 진실로 땅에서 판단하시는 하나님이 계시다 하리로다
  Then men will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth."

1. 나의 하나님이여 내 원수에게서 나를 건지시고 일어나 치려는 자에게서 나를 높이 드소서
  For the director of music. To the tune of"Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam. When Saul had sent men to watch David's house in order to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect me from those who rise up against me.

2. 사악을 행하는 자에게서 나를 건지시고 피 흘리기를 즐기는 자에게서 나를 구원하소서
  Deliver me from evildoers and save me from bloodthirsty men.

3. 저희가 나의 생명을 해하려고 엎드려 기다리고 강한 자가 모여 나를 치려 하오니 여호와여 이는 나의 범과를 인함이 아니요 나의 죄를 인함도 아니로소이다
  See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, O LORD.

4. 내가 허물이 없으나 저희가 달려와서 스스로 준비하오니 주여 나를 도우시기 위하여 깨사 감찰하소서
  I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight!

5. 만군의 하나님 여호와, 이스라엘의 하나님이여 일어나 열방을 벌하소서 무릇 간사한 악인을 긍휼히 여기지 마소서 (셀라)
  O LORD God Almighty, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors. Selah

6. 저희가 저물게 돌아와서 개처럼 울며 성으로 두루 다니고
  They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city.

7. 그 입으로 악을 토하며 그 입술에는 칼이 있어 이르기를 누가 들으리요 하나이다
  See what they spew from their mouths--they spew out swords from their lips, and they say, "Who can hear us?"

8. 여호와여 주께서 저희를 웃으시리니 모든 열방을 비웃으시리이다
  But you, O LORD, laugh at them; you scoff at all those nations.

9. 하나님은 나의 산성이시니 저의 힘을 인하여 내가 주를 바라리이다
  O my Strength, I watch for you; you, O God, are my fortress,

10. 나의 하나님이 그 인자하심으로 나를 영접하시며 내 원수의 보응받는 것을 나로 목도케 하시리이다
  my loving God. God will go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me.

11. 저희를 죽이지 마옵소서 나의 백성이 잊을까 하나이다 우리 방패되신 주여 주의 능력으로 저희를 흩으시고 낮추소서
  But do not kill them, O Lord our shield, or my people will forget. In your might make them wander about, and bring them down.

12. 저희 입술의 말은 곧 그 입의 죄라 저희의 저주와 거짓말을 인하여 저희로 그 교만한 중에서 사로잡히게 하소서
  For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter,

13. 진노하심으로 소멸하시되 없기까지 소멸하사 하나님이 야곱 중에 다스리심을 땅 끝까지 알게 하소서 (셀라)
  consume them in wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob. Selah

14. 저희로 저물게 돌아와서 개처럼 울며 성으로 두루 다니게 하소서
  They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city.

15. 저희는 식물을 위하여 유리하다가 배부름을 얻지 못하면 밤을 새우려니와
  They wander about for food and howl if not satisfied.

16. 나는 주의 힘을 노래하며 아침에 주의 인자하심을 높이 부르오리니 주는 나의 산성이시며 나의 환난 날에 피난처심이니이다
  But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.

17. 나의 힘이시여 내가 주께 찬송하오리니 하나님은 나의 산성이시며 나를 긍휼히 여기시는 하나님이심이니이다
  O my Strength, I sing praise to you; you, O God, are my fortress, my loving God.
