사무엘상 21-22

1. 다윗이 놉에 가서 제사장 아히멜렉에게 이르니 아히멜렉이 떨며 다윗을 영접하며 그에게 이르되 어찌하여 네가 홀로 있고 함께 하는 자가 아무도 없느냐
  David went to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest. Ahimelech trembled when he met him, and asked, "Why are you alone? Why is no one with you?"

2. 다윗이 제사장 아히멜렉에게 이르되 왕이 내게 일을 명하고 이르시기를 내가 너를 보내는 바와 네게 명한 바 일의 아무것이라도 사람에게 알게 하지 말라 하시기로 내가 나의 소년들을 여차여차한 곳으로 약정하였나이다
  David answered Ahimelech the priest, "The king charged me with a certain matter and said to me, 'No one is to know anything about your mission and your instructions.' As for my men, I have told them to meet me at a certain place.

3. 이제 당신의 수중에 무엇이 있나이까 떡 다섯 덩이나 무엇이든지 있는 대로 내 손에 주소서
  Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever you can find."

4. 제사장이 다윗에게 대답하여 가로되 항용 떡은 내 수중에 없으나 거룩한 떡은 있나니 그 소년들이 부녀를 가까이만 아니하였으면 주리라
  But the priest answered David, "I don't have any ordinary bread on hand; however, there is some consecrated bread here--provided the men have kept themselves from women."

5. 다윗이 제사장에게 대답하여 가로되 우리가 참으로 삼 일 동안이나 부녀를 가까이 하지 아니하였나이다 나의 떠난 길이 보통 여행이라도 소년들의 그릇이 성결하겠거든 하물며 오늘날 그들의 그릇이 성결치 아니하겠나이까 하매
  David replied, "Indeed women have been kept from us, as usual whenever I set out. The men's things are holy even on missions that are not holy. How much more so today!"

6. 제사장이 그 거룩한 떡을 주었으니 거기는 진설병 곧 여호와 앞에서 물려 낸 떡밖에 없음이라 이 떡은 더운 떡을 드리는 날에 물려 낸 것이더라
  So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there except the bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the LORD and replaced by hot bread on the day it was taken away.

7. 그 날에 사울의 신하 한 사람이 여호와 앞에 머물러 있었는데 그는 도엑이라 이름하는 에돔 사람이요 사울의 목자장이었더라
  Now one of Saul's servants was there that day, detained before the LORD; he was Doeg the Edomite, Saul's head shepherd.

8. 다윗이 아히멜렉에게 이르되 여기 당신의 수중에 창이나 칼이 없나이까 왕의 일이 급하므로 내가 내 칼과 병기를 가지지 못하였나이다
  David asked Ahimelech, "Don't you have a spear or a sword here? I haven't brought my sword or any other weapon, because the king's business was urgent."

9. 제사장이 가로되 네가 엘라 골짜기에서 죽인 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼이 보자기에 싸여 에봇 뒤에 있으니 네가 그것을 가지려거든 가지라 여기는 그밖에 다른 것이 없느니라 다윗이 가로되 그 같은 것이 또 없나니 내게 주소서
  The priest replied, "The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, is here; it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you want it, take it; there is no sword here but that one." David said, "There is none like it; give it to me."

10. 그 날에 다윗이 사울을 두려워하여 일어나 도망하여 가드 왕 아기스에게로 가니
  That day David fled from Saul and went to Achish king of Gath.

11. 아기스의 신하들이 아기스에게 고하되 이는 그 땅의 왕 다윗이 아니니이까 무리가 춤추며 이 사람의 일을 창화하여 가로되 사울의 죽인 자는 천천이요 다윗은 만만이로다 하지 아니하였나이까 한지라
  But the servants of Achish said to him, "Isn't this David, the king of the land? Isn't he the one they sing about in their dances: "'Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands'?"

12. 다윗이 이 말을 그 마음에 두고 가드 왕 아기스를 심히 두려워하여
  David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish king of Gath.

13. 그들의 앞에서 그 행동을 변하여 미친 체하고 대문짝에 그적거리며 침을 수염에 흘리매
  So he pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their hands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard.

14. 아기스가 그 신하에게 이르되 너희도 보거니와 이 사람이 미치광이로다 어찌하여 그를 내게로 데려왔느냐
  Achish said to his servants, "Look at the man! He is insane! Why bring him to me?

15. 내게 미치광이가 부족하여서 너희가 이 자를 데려다가 내 앞에서 미친 짓을 하게 하느냐 이 자가 어찌 내 집에 들어오겠느냐 하니라
  Am I so short of madmen that you have to bring this fellow here to carry on like this in front of me? Must this man come into my house?"

1. 그러므로 다윗이 그 곳을 떠나 아둘람 굴로 도망하매 그 형제와 아비의 온 집이 듣고는 그리로 내려가서 그에게 이르렀고
  David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father's household heard about it, they went down to him there.

2. 환난당한 모든 자와 빚진 자와 마음이 원통한 자가 다 그에게로 모였고 그는 그 장관이 되었는데 그와 함께한 자가 사백 명 가량이었더라
  All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their leader. About four hundred men were with him.

3. 다윗이 거기서 모압 미스베로 가서 모압 왕에게 이르되 하나님이 나를 위하여 어떻게 하실 것을 내가 알기까지 나의 부모로 나와서 당신들과 함께 있게 하기를 청하나이다 하고
  From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab, "Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?"

4. 부모를 인도하여 모압 왕 앞에 나아갔더니 그들이 다윗의 요새에 있을 동안에 모압 왕과 함께 있었더라
  So he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him as long as David was in the stronghold.

5. 선지자 갓이 다윗에게 이르되 이 요새에 있지 말고 떠나 유다 땅으로 들어가라 다윗이 떠나 헤렛 수풀에 이르니라
  But the prophet Gad said to David, "Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah." So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.

6. 사울이 다윗과 그와 함께 있는 사람들이 나타났다 함을 들으니라 때에 사울이 기브아 높은 곳에서 손에 단창을 들고 에셀나무 아래 앉았고 모든 신하들은 그 곁에 섰더니
  Now Saul heard that David and his men had been discovered. And Saul, spear in hand, was seated under the tamarisk tree on the hill at Gibeah, with all his officials standing around him.

7. 사울이 곁에 선 신하들에게 이르되 너희 베냐민 사람들아 들으라 이새의 아들이 너희에게 각기 밭과 포도원을 주며 너희로 천부장, 백부장을 삼겠느냐
  Saul said to them, "Listen, men of Benjamin! Will the son of Jesse give all of you fields and vineyards? Will he make all of you commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds?

8. 너희가 다 공모하여 나를 대적하며 내 아들이 이새의 아들과 맹약하였으되 내게 고발하는 자가 하나도 없고 나를 위하여 슬퍼하거나 내 아들이 내 신하를 선동하여 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치려 하는 것을 내게 고발하는 자가 하나도 없도다
  Is that why you have all conspired against me? No one tells me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is concerned about me or tells me that my son has incited my servant to lie in wait for me, as he does today."

9. 때에 에돔 사람 도엑이 사울의 신하 중에 섰더니 대답하여 가로되 이새의 아들이 놉에 와서 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉에게 이른 것을 내가 보았었는데
  But Doeg the Edomite, who was standing with Saul's officials, said, "I saw the son of Jesse come to Ahimelech son of Ahitub at Nob.

10. 아히멜렉이 그를 위하여 여호와께 묻고 그에게 식물도 주고 블레셋 사람 골리앗의 칼도 주더이다
  Ahimelech inquired of the LORD for him; he also gave him provisions and the sword of Goliath the Philistine."

11. 왕이 보내어 아히둡의 아들 제사장 아히멜렉과 그 아비의 온 집 곧 놉에 있는 제사장들을 부르매 그들이 다 왕께 이른지라
  Then the king sent for the priest Ahimelech son of Ahitub and his father's whole family, who were the priests at Nob, and they all came to the king.

12. 사울이 가로되 너 아히둡의 아들아 들으라 대답하되 내 주여 내가 여기 있나이다
  Saul said, "Listen now, son of Ahitub." "Yes, my lord," he answered.

13. 사울이 그에게 이르되 네가 어찌하여 이새의 아들과 공모하여 나를 대적하여 그에게 떡과 칼을 주고 그를 위하여 하나님께 물어서 그로 오늘이라도 매복하였다가 나를 치게 하려 하였느뇨
  Saul said to him, "Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, giving him bread and a sword and inquiring of God for him, so that he has rebelled against me and lies in wait for me, as he does today?"

14. 아히멜렉이 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 왕의 모든 신하 중에 다윗같이 충실한 자가 누구인지요 그는 왕의 사위도 되고 왕의 모신도 되고 왕실에서 존귀한 자가 아니니이까
  Ahimelech answered the king, "Who of all your servants is as loyal as David, the king's son-in-law, captain of your bodyguard and highly respected in your household?

15. 내가 그를 위하여 하나님께 물은 것이 오늘이 처음이니이까 결단코 아니니이다 원컨대 왕은 종과 종의 아비의 온 집에 아무것도 돌리지 마옵소서 왕의 종은 이 모든 일의 대소간에 아는 것이 없나이다
  Was that day the first time I inquired of God for him? Of course not! Let not the king accuse your servant or any of his father's family, for your servant knows nothing at all about this whole affair."

16. 왕이 가로되 아히멜렉아 네가 반드시 죽을 것이요 네 아비의 온 집도 그러하리라 하고
  But the king said, "You will surely die, Ahimelech, you and your father's whole family."

17. 왕이 좌우의 시위자에게 이르되 돌이켜 가서 여호와의 제사장들을 죽이라 그들도 다윗과 합력하였고 또 그들이 다윗의 도망한 것을 알고도 내게 고발치 아니하였음이니라 하나 왕의 신하들이 손을 들어 여호와의 제사장들 죽이기를 싫어한지라
  Then the king ordered the guards at his side: "Turn and kill the priests of the LORD, because they too have sided with David. They knew he was fleeing, yet they did not tell me." But the king's officials were not willing to raise a hand to strike the priests of the LORD.

18. 왕이 도엑에게 이르되 너는 돌이켜 제사장들을 죽이라 하매 에돔 사람 도엑이 돌이켜 제사장들을 쳐서 그 날에 세마포 에봇 입은 자 팔십오 인을 죽였고
  The king then ordered Doeg, "You turn and strike down the priests." So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

19. 제사장들의 성읍 놉의 남녀와 아이들과 젖 먹는 자들과 소와 나귀와 양을 칼로 쳤더라
  He also put to the sword Nob, the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep.

20. 아히둡의 아들 아히멜렉의 아들 중 하나가 피하였으니 그 이름은 아비아달이라 그가 도망하여 다윗에게로 가서
  But Abiathar, a son of Ahimelech son of Ahitub, escaped and fled to join David.

21. 사울이 여호와의 제사장들 죽인 일을 다윗에게 고하매
  He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD.

22. 다윗이 아비아달에게 이르되 그 날에 에돔 사람 도엑이 거기 있기로 그가 반드시 사울에게 고할 줄 내가 알았노라 네 아비 집의 모든 사람 죽은 것이 나의 연고로다
  Then David said to Abiathar: "That day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, I knew he would be sure to tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of your father's whole family.

23. 두려워 말고 내게 있으라 내 생명을 찾는 자가 네 생명도 찾는 자니 네가 나와 함께 있으면 보전하리라 하니라
  Stay with me; don't be afraid; the man who is seeking your life is seeking mine also. You will be safe with me."

고린도전서 3

1. 형제들아 내가 신령한 자들을 대함과 같이 너희에게 말할 수 없어서 육신에 속한 자 곧 그리스도 안에서 어린아이들을 대함과 같이 하노라
  Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly--mere infants in Christ.

2. 내가 너희를 젖으로 먹이고 밥으로 아니하였노니 이는 너희가 감당치 못하였음이거니와 지금도 못하리라
  I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

3. 너희가 아직도 육신에 속한 자로다 너희 가운데 시기와 분쟁이 있으니 어찌 육신에 속하여 사람을 따라 행함이 아니리요
  You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?

4. 어떤 이는 말하되 나는 바울에게라 하고 다른 이는 나는 아볼로에게라 하니 너희가 사람이 아니리요
  For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?

5. 그런즉 아볼로는 무엇이며 바울은 무엇이뇨 저희는 주께서 각각 주신 대로 너희로 하여금 믿게 한 사역자들이니라
  What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task.

6. 나는 심었고 아볼로는 물을 주었으되 오직 하나님은 자라나게 하셨나니
  I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

7. 그런즉 심는 이나 물 주는 이는 아무것도 아니로되 오직 자라나게 하시는 하나님뿐이니라
  So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

8. 심는 이와 물 주는 이가 일반이나 각각 자기의 일하는 대로 자기의 상을 받으리라
  The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.

9. 우리는 하나님의 동역자들이요 너희는 하나님의 밭이요 하나님의 집이니라
  For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

10. 내게 주신 하나님의 은혜를 따라 내가 지혜로운 건축자와 같이 터를 닦아 두매 다른이가 그 위에 세우나 그러나 각각 어떻게 그 위에 세우기를 조심할찌니라
  By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds.

11. 이 닦아 둔 것 외에 능히 다른 터를 닦아 둘 자가 없으니 이 터는 곧 예수 그리스도라
  For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12. 만일 누구든지 금이나 은이나 보석이나 나무나 풀이나 짚으로 이 터 위에 세우면
  If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,

13. 각각 공력이 나타날 터인데 그 날이 공력을 밝히리니 이는 불로 나타내고 그 불이 각 사람의 공력이 어떠한 것을 시험할 것임이니라
  his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.

14. 만일 누구든지 그 위에 세운 공력이 그대로 있으면 상을 받고
  If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.

15. 누구든지 공력이 불타면 해를 받으리니 그러나 자기는 구원을 얻되 불 가운데서 얻은 것 같으리라
  If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

16. 너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 거하시는 것을 알지 못하느뇨
  Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

17. 누구든지 하나님의 성전을 더럽히면 하나님이 그 사람을 멸하시리라 하나님의 성전은 거룩하니 너희도 그러하니라
  If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

18. 아무도 자기를 속이지 말라 너희 중에 누구든지 이 세상에서 지혜 있는 줄로 생각하거든 미련한 자가 되어라 그리하여야 지혜로운 자가 되리라
  Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.

19. 이 세상 지혜는 하나님께 미련한 것이니 기록된 바 지혜 있는 자들로 하여금 자기 궤휼에 빠지게 하시는 이라 하였고
  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";

20. 또 주께서 지혜 있는 자들의 생각을 헛것으로 아신다 하셨느니라
  and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."

21. 그런즉 누구든지 사람을 자랑하지 말라 만물이 다 너희 것임이라
  So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours,

22. 바울이나 아볼로나 게바나 세계나 생명이나 사망이나 지금 것이나 장래 것이나 다 너희의 것이요
  whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future--all are yours,

23. 너희는 그리스도의 것이요 그리스도는 하나님의 것이니라
  and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

에스겔 1

1. 제 삼십 년 사월 오일에 내가 그발 강 가 사로잡힌 자 중에 있더니 하늘이 열리며 하나님의 이상을 내게 보이시니
  In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.

2. 여호야긴 왕의 사로잡힌 지 오 년 그 달 오일이라
  On the fifth of the month--it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin--

3. 갈대아 땅 그발 강 가에서 여호와의 말씀이 부시의 아들 제사장 나 에스겔에게 특별히 임하고 여호와의 권능이 내 위에 있으니라
  the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the LORD was upon him.

4. 내가 보니 북방에서부터 폭풍과 큰 구름이 오는데 그 속에서 불이 번쩍번쩍하여 빛이 그 사면에 비취며 그 불 가운데 단 쇠 같은 것이 나타나 보이고
  I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north--an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal,

5. 그 속에서 네 생물의 형상이 나타나는데 그 모양이 이러하니 사람의 형상이라
  and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man,

6. 각각 네 얼굴과 네 날개가 있고
  but each of them had four faces and four wings.

7. 그 다리는 곧고 그 발바닥은 송아지 발바닥 같고 마광한 구리같이 빛나며
  Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.

8. 그 사면 날개 밑에는 각각 사람의 손이 있더라 그 네 생물의 얼굴과 날개가 이러하니
  Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings,

9. 날개는 다 서로 연하였으며 행할 때에는 돌이키지 아니하고 일제히 앞으로 곧게 행하며
  and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

10. 그 얼굴들의 모양은 넷의 앞은 사람의 얼굴이요 넷의 우편은 사자의 얼굴이요 넷의 좌편은 소의 얼굴이요 넷의 뒤는 독수리의 얼굴이니
  Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.

11. 그 얼굴은 이러하며 그 날개는 들어 펴서 각기 둘씩 서로 연하였고 또 둘은 몸을 가리웠으며
  Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out upward; each had two wings, one touching the wing of another creature on either side, and two wings covering its body.

12. 신이 어느 편으로 가려면 그 생물들이 그대로 가되 돌이키지 아니하고 일제히 앞으로 곧게 행하며
  Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.

13. 또 생물의 모양은 숯불과 횃불 모양 같은데 그 불이 그 생물 사이에서 오르락내리락 하며 그 불은 광채가 있고 그 가운데서는 번개가 나며
  The appearance of the living creatures was like burning coals of fire or like torches. Fire moved back and forth among the creatures; it was bright, and lightning flashed out of it.

14. 그 생물의 왕래가 번개같이 빠르더라
  The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.

15. 내가 그 생물을 본즉 그 생물 곁 땅 위에 바퀴가 있는데 그 네 얼굴을 따라 하나씩 있고
  As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces.

16. 그 바퀴의 형상과 그 구조는 넷이 한결 같은데 황옥 같고 그 형상과 구조는 바퀴 안에 바퀴가 있는 것 같으며
  This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.

17. 행할 때에는 사방으로 향한 대로 돌이키지 않고 행하며
  As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went.

18. 그 둘레는 높고 무서우며 그 네 둘레로 돌아가면서 눈이 가득하며
  Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.

19. 생물이 행할 때에 바퀴도 그 곁에서 행하고 생물이 땅에서 들릴 때에 바퀴도 들려서
  When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.

20. 어디든지 신이 가려 하면 생물도 신의 가려 하는 곳으로 가고 바퀴도 그 곁에서 들리니 이는 생물의 신이 그 바퀴 가운데 있음이라
  Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

21. 저들이 행하면 이들도 행하고 저들이 그치면 이들도 그치고 저들이 땅에서 들릴 때에는 이들도 그 곁에서 들리니 이는 생물의 신이 그 바퀴 가운데 있음이더라
  When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

22. 그 생물의 머리 위에는 수정 같은 궁창의 형상이 펴 있어 보기에 심히 두려우며
  Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked like an expanse, sparkling like ice, and awesome.

23. 그 궁창 밑에 생물들의 날개가 서로 향하여 펴 있는데 이 생물은 두 날개로 몸을 가리웠고 저 생물도 두 날개로 몸을 가리웠으며
  Under the expanse their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had two wings covering its body.

24. 생물들이 행할 때에 내가 그 날개 소리를 들은즉 많은 물 소리와도 같으며 전능자의 음성과도 같으며 떠드는 소리 곧 군대의 소리와도 같더니 그 생물이 설 때에 그 날개를 드리우더라
  When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.

25. 그 머리 위에 있는 궁창 위에서부터 음성이 나더라 그 생물이 설 때에 그 날개를 드리우더라
  Then there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood with lowered wings.

26. 그 머리 위에 있는 궁창 위에 보좌의 형상이 있는데 그 모양이 남보석 같고 그 보좌의 형상 위에 한 형상이 있어 사람의 모양 같더라
  Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man.

27. 내가 본즉 그 허리 이상의 모양은 단 쇠 같아서 그 속과 주위가 불 같고 그 허리 이하의 모양도 불 같아서 사면으로 광채가 나며
  I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him.

28. 그 사면 광채의 모양은 비 오는 날 구름에 있는 무지개 같으니 이는 여호와의 영광의 형상의 모양이라 내가 보고 곧 엎드리어 그 말씀하시는 자의 음성을 들으니라
  Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

시편 37

1. 행악자를 인하여 불평하여 하지 말며 불의를 행하는 자를 투기하지 말지어다
  Of David. Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;

2. 저희는 풀과 같이 속히 베임을 볼 것이며 푸른 채소같이 쇠잔할 것임이로다
  for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.

3. 여호와를 의뢰하여 선을 행하라 땅에 거하여 그의 성실로 식물을 삼을지어다
  Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4. 또 여호와를 기뻐하라 저가 네 마음의 소원을 이루어 주시리로다
  Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5. 너의 길을 여호와께 맡기라 저를 의지하면 저가 이루시고
  Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:

6. 네 의를 빛같이 나타내시며 네 공의를 정오의 빛같이 하시리로다
  He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7. 여호와 앞에 잠잠하고 참아 기다리라 자기 길이 형통하며 악한 꾀를 이루는 자를 인하여 불평하여 말지어다
  Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8. 분을 그치고 노를 버리라 불평하여 말라 행악에 치우칠 뿐이라
  Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.

9. 대저 행악하는 자는 끊어질 것이나 여호와를 기대하는 자는 땅을 차지하리로다
  For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

10. 잠시 후에 악인이 없어지리니 네가 그 곳을 자세히 살필지라도 없으리로다
  A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.

11. 오직 온유한 자는 땅을 차지하며 풍부한 화평으로 즐기리로다
  But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.

12. 악인이 의인 치기를 꾀하고 향하여 그 이를 가는도다
  The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;

13. 주께서 저를 웃으시리니 그 날의 이름을 보심이로다
  but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.

14. 악인이 칼을 빼고 활을 당기어 가난하고 궁핍한 자를 엎드러뜨리며 행위가 정직한 자를 죽이고자 하나
  The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.

15. 그 칼은 자기의 마음을 찌르고 그 활은 부러지리로다
  But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.

16. 의인의 적은 소유가 많은 악인의 풍부함보다 승하도다
  Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;

17. 악인의 팔은 부러지나 의인은 여호와께서 붙드시는도다
  for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

18. 여호와께서 완전한 자의 날을 아시니 저희 기업은 영원하리로다
  The days of the blameless are known to the LORD, and their inheritance will endure forever.

19. 저희는 환난 때에 부끄럽지 아니하며 기근의 날에도 풍족하려니와
  In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.

20. 악인은 멸망하고 여호와의 원수는 어린 양의 기름같이 타서 연기 되어 없어지리로다
  But the wicked will perish: The LORD'S enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish--vanish like smoke.

21. 악인은 꾸고 갚지 아니하나 의인은 은혜를 베풀고 주는도다
  The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;

22. 주의 복을 받은 자는 땅을 차지하고 주의 저주를 받은 자는 끊어지리로다
  those the LORD blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be cut off.

23. 여호와께서 사람의 걸음을 정하시고 그 길을 기뻐하시나니
  If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm;

24. 저는 넘어지나 아주 엎드러지지 아니함은 여호와께서 손으로 붙드심이로다
  though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

25. 내가 어려서부터 늙기까지 의인이 버림을 당하거나 그 자손이 걸식함을 보지 못하였도다
  I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

26. 저는 종일토록 은혜를 베풀고 꾸어 주니 그 자손이 복을 받는도다
  They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed.

27. 악에서 떠나 선을 행하라 그리하면 영영히 거하리니
  Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.

28. 여호와께서 공의를 사랑하시고 그 성도를 버리지 아니하심이로다 저희는 영영히 보호를 받으나 악인의 자손은 끊어지리로다
  For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;

29. 의인이 땅을 차지함이여 거기 영영히 거하리로다
  the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.

30. 의인의 입은 지혜를 말하고 그 혀는 공의를 이르며
  The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.

31. 그 마음에는 하나님의 법이 있으니 그 걸음에 실족함이 없으리로다
  The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip.

32. 악인이 의인을 엿보아 살해할 기회를 찾으나
  The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, seeking their very lives;

33. 여호와는 저를 그 손에 버려 두지 아니하시고 재판 때에도 정죄치 아니하시리로다
  but the LORD will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

34. 여호와를 바라고 그 도를 지키라 그리하면 너를 들어 땅을 차지하게 하실 것이라 악인이 끊어질 때에 네가 목도하리로다
  Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.

35. 내가 악인의 큰 세력을 본즉 그 본토에 선 푸른 나무의 무성함 같으나
  I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,

36. 사람이 지날 때에 저가 없어졌으니 내가 찾아도 발견치 못하였도다
  but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.

37. 완전한 사람을 살피고 정직한 자를 볼찌어다 화평한 자의 결국은 평안이로다
  Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.

38. 범죄자들은 함께 멸망하리니 악인의 결국은 끊어질 것이나
  But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off.

39. 의인의 구원은 여호와께 있으니 그는 환난 때에 저희 산성이시로다
  The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.

40. 여호와께서 저희를 도와 건지시되 악인에게서 건져 구원하심은 그를 의지한 연고로다
  The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
