사무엘상 20

1. 다윗이 라마 나욧에서 도망하여 와서 요나단에게 이르되 내가 무엇을 하였으며 내 죄악이 무엇이며 네 부친 앞에서 나의 죄가 무엇이관대 그가 내 생명을 찾느뇨
  Then David fled from Naioth at Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked, "What have I done? What is my crime? How have I wronged your father, that he is trying to take my life?"

2. 요나단이 그에게 이르되 결단코 아니라 네가 죽지 아니하리라 내 부친이 대소사를 내게 알게 아니하고는 행함이 없나니 내 부친이 어찌하여 이 일은 내게 숨기리요 그렇지 아니하니라
  "Never!" Jonathan replied. "You are not going to die! Look, my father doesn't do anything, great or small, without confiding in me. Why would he hide this from me? It's not so!"

3. 다윗이 또 맹세하여 가로되 내가 네게 은혜받은 줄을 네 부친이 밝히 알고 스스로 이르기를 요나단이 슬퍼할까 두려운즉 그로 이를 알게 하지 아니하리라 함이니라 그러나 진실로 여호와의 사심과 네 생명으로 맹세하노니 나와 사망의 사이는 한 걸음뿐이니라
  But David took an oath and said, "Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself, 'Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.' Yet as surely as the LORD lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death."

4. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 네 마음의 소원이 무엇이든지 내가 너를 위하여 그것을 이루리라
  Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you want me to do, I'll do for you."

5. 다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 내일은 월삭인즉 내가 마땅히 왕을 모시고 앉아 식사를 하여야 할 것이나 나를 보내어 제 삼 일 저녁까지 들에 숨게 하고
  So David said, "Look, tomorrow is the New Moon festival, and I am supposed to dine with the king; but let me go and hide in the field until the evening of the day after tomorrow.

6. 네 부친이 만일 나를 자세히 묻거든 그 때에 너는 말하기를 다윗이 자기 성 베들레헴으로 급히 가기를 내게 허하라 간청하였사오니 이는 온 가족을 위하여 거기서 매년제를 드릴 때가 됨이니이다 하라
  If your father misses me at all, tell him, 'David earnestly asked my permission to hurry to Bethlehem, his hometown, because an annual sacrifice is being made there for his whole clan.'

7. 그의 말이 좋다 하면 네 종이 평안하려니와 그가 만일 노하면 나를 해하려고 결심한 줄을 알찌니
  If he says, 'Very well,' then your servant is safe. But if he loses his temper, you can be sure that he is determined to harm me.

8. 그런즉 원컨대 네 종에게 인자히 행하라 네가 네 종으로 여호와 앞에서 너와 맹약케 하였음이니라 그러나 내게 죄악이 있거든 네가 친히 나를 죽이라 나를 네 부친에게로 데려갈 것이 무엇이뇨
  As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the LORD. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?"

9. 요나단이 가로되 이 일이 결코 네게 있지 아니하리라 내 부친이 너를 해하려 결심한 줄 알면 내가 네게 이르지 아니하겠느냐
  "Never!" Jonathan said. "If I had the least inkling that my father was determined to harm you, wouldn't I tell you?"

10. 다윗이 요나단에게 이르되 네 부친이 혹 엄하게 네게 대답하면 누가 그것을 내게 고하겠느냐
  David asked, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"

11. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 오라 우리가 들로 가자 하고 두 사람이 들로 가니라
  "Come," Jonathan said, "let's go out into the field." So they went there together.

12. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 증거하시거니와 내가 내일이나 모레 이맘때에 내 부친을 살펴서 너 다윗에게 대한 의향이 선하면 내가 보내어 네게 알게 하지 않겠느냐
  Then Jonathan said to David: "By the LORD, the God of Israel, I will surely sound out my father by this time the day after tomorrow! If he is favorably disposed toward you, will I not send you word and let you know?

13. 그러나 만일 내 부친이 너를 해하려 하거늘 내가 이 일을 네게 알게 하여 너를 보내어 평안히 가게 하지 아니하면 여호와께서 나 요나단에게 벌을 내리시고 또 내리시기를 원하노라 여호와께서 내 부친과 함께 하신 것같이 너와 함께 하시기를 원하노니
  But if my father is inclined to harm you, may the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away safely. May the LORD be with you as he has been with my father.

14. 너는 나의 사는 날 동안에 여호와의 인자를 내게 베풀어서 나로 죽지 않게 할 뿐 아니라
  But show me unfailing kindness like that of the LORD as long as I live, so that I may not be killed,

15. 여호와께서 너 다윗의 대적들을 지면에서 다 끊어 버리신 때에도 너는 네 인자를 내 집에서 영영히 끊어 버리지 말라 하고
  and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family--not even when the LORD has cut off every one of David's enemies from the face of the earth."

16. 이에 요나단이 다윗의 집과 언약하기를 여호와께서는 다윗의 대적들을 치실찌어다 하니라
  So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the LORD call David's enemies to account."

17. 요나단이 다윗을 사랑하므로 그로 다시 맹세케 하였으니 이는 자기 생명을 사랑함같이 그를 사랑함이었더라
  And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself.

18. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 내일은 월삭인즉 네 자리가 비므로 네가 없음을 자세히 물으실 것이라
  Then Jonathan said to David: "Tomorrow is the New Moon festival. You will be missed, because your seat will be empty.

19. 너는 사흘을 있다가 빨리 내려가서 그 일이 있던 날에 숨었던 곳에 이르러 에셀 바위 곁에 있으라
  The day after tomorrow, toward evening, go to the place where you hid when this trouble began, and wait by the stone Ezel.

20. 내가 과녁을 쏘려 함같이 살 셋을 그 곁에 쏘고
  I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I were shooting at a target.

21. 아이를 보내어 가서 살을 찾으라 하며 내가 짐짓 아이에게 이르기를 보라 살이 네 이편에 있으니 가져오라 하거든 너는 돌아올찌니 여호와께서 사시거니와 네가 평안 무사할 것이요
  Then I will send a boy and say, 'Go, find the arrows.' If I say to him, 'Look, the arrows are on this side of you; bring them here,' then come, because, as surely as the LORD lives, you are safe; there is no danger.

22. 만일 아이에게 이르기를 보라 살이 네 앞편에 있다 하거든 네 길을 가라 여호와께서 너를 보내셨음이니라
  But if I say to the boy, 'Look, the arrows are beyond you,' then you must go, because the LORD has sent you away.

23. 너와 내가 말한 일에 대하여는 여호와께서 너와 나 사이에 영영토록 계시느니라
  And about the matter you and I discussed--remember, the LORD is witness between you and me forever."

24. 다윗이 들에 숨으니라 월삭이 되매 왕이 앉아 음식을 먹을 때에
  So David hid in the field, and when the New Moon festival came, the king sat down to eat.

25. 왕은 평시와 같이 벽 곁 자기 자리에 앉았고 요나단은 섰고 아브넬은 사울의 곁에 앉았고 다윗의 자리는 비었으나
  He sat in his customary place by the wall, opposite Jonathan, and Abner sat next to Saul, but David's place was empty.

26. 그러나 그 날에는 사울이 아무 말도 아니하였으니 이는 생각하기를 그에게 무슨 사고가 있어서 부정한가 보다 정녕히 부정한가 보다 하였음이더니
  Saul said nothing that day, for he thought, "Something must have happened to David to make him ceremonially unclean--surely he is unclean."

27. 이튿날 곧 달의 제 이 일에도 다윗의 자리가 오히려 비었으므로 사울이 그 아들 요나단에게 묻되 이새의 아들이 어찌하여 어제와 오늘 식사에 나오지 아니하느뇨
  But the next day, the second day of the month, David's place was empty again. Then Saul said to his son Jonathan, "Why hasn't the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?"

28. 요나단이 사울에게 대답하되 다윗이 내게 베들레헴으로 가기를 간청하여
  Jonathan answered, "David earnestly asked me for permission to go to Bethlehem.

29. 가로되 청컨대 나로 가게 하라 우리 가족이 그 성에서 제사할 일이 있으므로 나의 형이 내게 오기를 명하였으니 내가 네게 사랑을 받거든 나로 가서 내 형들을 보게 하라 하였으므로 그가 왕의 식사 자리에 오지 아니하였나이다
  He said, 'Let me go, because our family is observing a sacrifice in the town and my brother has ordered me to be there. If I have found favor in your eyes, let me get away to see my brothers.' That is why he has not come to the king's table."

30. 사울이 요나단에게 노를 발하고 그에게 이르되 패역부도의 계집의 소생아 네가 이새의 아들을 택한 것이 네 수치와 네 어미의 벌거벗은 수치됨을 내가 어찌 알지 못하랴
  Saul's anger flared up at Jonathan and he said to him, "You son of a perverse and rebellious woman! Don't I know that you have sided with the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of the mother who bore you?

31. 이새의 아들이 땅에 사는 동안은 너와 네 나라가 든든히 서지 못하리라 그런즉 이제 보내어 그를 내게로 끌어오라 그는 죽어야 할 자니라
  As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom will be established. Now send and bring him to me, for he must die!"

32. 요나단이 그 부친 사울에게 대답하여 가로되 그가 죽을 일이 무엇이니이까 무엇을 행하였나이까
  "Why should he be put to death? What has he done?" Jonathan asked his father.

33. 사울이 요나단에게 단창을 던져 치려 한지라 요나단이 그 부친이 다윗을 죽이기로 결심한 줄 알고
  But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David.

34. 심히 노하여 식사 자리에서 떠나고 달의 제 이 일에는 먹지 아니하였으니 이는 그 부친이 다윗을 욕되게 하였으므로 다윗을 위하여 슬퍼함이었더라
  Jonathan got up from the table in fierce anger; on that second day of the month he did not eat, because he was grieved at his father's shameful treatment of David.

35. 아침에 요나단이 작은 아이를 데리고 다윗과 정한 시간에 들로 나가서
  In the morning Jonathan went out to the field for his meeting with David. He had a small boy with him,

36. 아이에게 이르되 달려가서 나의 쏘는 살을 찾으라 하고 아이가 달려갈 때에 요나단이 살을 그의 위로 지나치게 쏘니라
  and he said to the boy, "Run and find the arrows I shoot." As the boy ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.

37. 아이가 요나단의 쏜 살 있는 곳에 이를 즈음에 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 외쳐 가로되 살이 네 앞편에 있지 아니하냐 하고
  When the boy came to the place where Jonathan's arrow had fallen, Jonathan called out after him, "Isn't the arrow beyond you?"

38. 요나단이 아이 뒤에서 또 외치되 지체 말고 빨리 달음질하라 하매 요나단의 아이가 살을 주워 가지고 주인에게로 돌아왔으나
  Then he shouted, "Hurry! Go quickly! Don't stop!" The boy picked up the arrow and returned to his master.

39. 그 아이는 아무런지 알지 못하고 요나단과 다윗만 그 일을 알았더라
  (The boy knew nothing of all this; only Jonathan and David knew.)

40. 요나단이 그 병기를 아이에게 주며 이르되 이것을 가지고 성으로 가라
  Then Jonathan gave his weapons to the boy and said, "Go, carry them back to town."

41. 아이가 가매 다윗이 곧 바위 남편에서 일어나서 땅에 엎드려 세 번 절한 후에 피차 입맞추고 같이 울되 다윗이 더욱 심하더니
  After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with his face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together--but David wept the most.

42. 요나단이 다윗에게 이르되 평안히 가라 우리 두 사람이 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하여 이르기를 여호와께서 영원히 나와 너 사이에 계시고 내 자손과 네 자손 사이에 계시리라 하였느니라 다윗은 일어나 떠나고 요나단은 성으로 들어오니라
  Jonathan said to David, "Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.'" Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.

고린도전서 2

1. 형제들아 내가 너희에게 나아가 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 아름다운 것으로 아니하였나니
  When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

2. 내가 너희 중에서 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못 박히신 것 외에는 아무것도 알지 아니하기로 작정하였음이라
  For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

3. 내가 너희 가운데 거할 때에 약하며 두려워하며 심히 떨었노라
  I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.

4. 내 말과 내 전도함이 지혜의 권하는 말로 하지 아니하고 다만 성령의 나타남과 능력으로 하여
  My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,

5. 너희 믿음이 사람의 지혜에 있지 아니하고 다만 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 하였노라
  so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

6. 그러나 우리가 온전한 자들 중에서 지혜를 말하노니 이는 이 세상의 지혜가 아니요 또 이 세상의 없어질 관원의 지혜도 아니요
  We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

7. 오직 비밀한 가운데 있는 하나님의 지혜를 말하는 것이니 곧 감취었던 것인데 하나님이 우리의 영광을 위하사 만세 전에 미리 정하신 것이라
  No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

8. 이 지혜는 이 세대의 관원이 하나도 알지 못하였나니 만일 알았더면 영광의 주를 십자가에 못 박지 아니하였으리라
  None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9. 기록된 바 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 모든 것은 눈으로 보지 못하고 귀로도 듣지 못하고 사람의 마음으로도 생각지 못하였다 함과 같으니라
  However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--

10. 오직 하나님이 성령으로 이것을 우리에게 보이셨으니 성령은 모든 것 곧 하나님의 깊은 것이라도 통달하시느니라
  but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

11. 사람의 사정을 사람의 속에 있는 영 외에는 누가 알리요 이와 같이 하나님의 사정도 하나님의 영 외에는 아무도 알지 못하느니라
  For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

12. 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님께로 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라
  We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

13. 우리가 이것을 말하거니와 사람의 지혜의 가르친 말로 아니하고 오직 성령의 가르치신 것으로 하니 신령한 일은 신령한 것으로 분별하느니라
  This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

14. 육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일을 받지 아니하나니 저희에게는 미련하게 보임이요 또 깨닫지도 못하나니 이런 일은 영적으로라야 분변함이니라
  The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15. 신령한 자는 모든 것을 판단하나 자기는 아무에게도 판단을 받지 아니하느니라
  The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:

16. 누가 주의 마음을 알아서 주를 가르치겠느냐 그러나 우리가 그리스도의 마음을 가졌느니라
  "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

예레미야애가 5

1. 여호와여 우리의 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리의 수욕을 감찰하옵소서
  Remember, O LORD, what has happened to us; look, and see our disgrace.

2. 우리 기업이 외인에게, 우리 집들도 외인에게 돌아갔나이다
  Our inheritance has been turned over to aliens, our homes to foreigners.

3. 우리는 아비 없는 외로운 자식이오며 우리 어미는 과부 같으니
  We have become orphans and fatherless, our mothers like widows.

4. 우리가 은을 주고 물을 마시며 값을 주고 섶을 얻으오며
  We must buy the water we drink; our wood can be had only at a price.

5. 우리를 쫓는 자는 우리 목을 눌렀사오니 우리가 곤비하여 쉴 수 없나이다
  Those who pursue us are at our heels; we are weary and find no rest.

6. 우리가 애굽 사람과 앗수르 사람과 악수하고 양식을 얻어 배불리고자 하였나이다
  We submitted to Egypt and Assyria to get enough bread.

7. 우리 열조는 범죄하고 없어졌고 우리는 그 죄악을 담당하였나이다
  Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we bear their punishment.

8. 종들이 우리를 관할함이여 그 손에서 건져낼 자가 없나이다
  Slaves rule over us, and there is none to free us from their hands.

9. 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 죽기를 무릅써야 양식을 얻사오니
  We get our bread at the risk of our lives because of the sword in the desert.

10. 주림의 열기로 인하여 우리의 피부가 아궁이처럼 검으니이다
  Our skin is hot as an oven, feverish from hunger.

11. 대적이 시온에서 부녀들을, 유다 각 성에서 처녀들을 욕보였나이다
  Women have been ravished in Zion, and virgins in the towns of Judah.

12. 방백들의 손이 매어 달리며 장로들의 얼굴이 존경을 받지 못하나이다
  Princes have been hung up by their hands; elders are shown no respect.

13. 소년들이 맷돌을 지오며 아이들이 섶을 지다가 엎드러지오며
  Young men toil at the millstones; boys stagger under loads of wood.

14. 노인은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 소년은 다시 노래하지 못하나이다
  The elders are gone from the city gate; the young men have stopped their music.

15. 우리 마음에 희락이 그쳤고 우리의 무도가 변하여 애통이 되었사오며
  Joy is gone from our hearts; our dancing has turned to mourning.

16. 우리 머리에서 면류관이 떨어졌사오니 오호라 우리의 범죄함을 인함이니이다
  The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!

17. 이러므로 우리 마음이 피곤하고 이러므로 우리 눈이 어두우며
  Because of this our hearts are faint, because of these things our eyes grow dim

18. 시온 산이 황무하여 여우가 거기서 노나이다
  for Mount Zion, which lies desolate, with jackals prowling over it.

19. 여호와여 주는 영원히 계시오며 주의 보좌는 세세에 미치나이다
  You, O LORD, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.

20. 주께서 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오래 버리시나이까
  Why do you always forget us? Why do you forsake us so long?

21. 여호와여 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서 그리하시면 우리가 주께로 돌아가겠사오니 우리의 날을 다시 새롭게 하사 옛적 같게 하옵소서
  Restore us to yourself, O LORD, that we may return; renew our days as of old

22. 주께서 우리를 아주 버리셨사오며 우리에게 진노하심이 특심하시니이다
  unless you have utterly rejected us and are angry with us beyond measure.

시편 36

1. 악인의 죄얼이 내 마음에 이르기를 그 목전에는 하나님을 두려워함이 없다 하니
  For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

2. 저가 스스로 자긍하기를 자기 죄악이 드러나지 아니하고 미워함을 받지도 아니하리라 함이로다
  For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin.

3. 그 입의 말은 죄악과 궤휼이라 지혜와 선행을 그쳤도다
  The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.

4. 저는 그 침상에서 죄악을 꾀하며 스스로 불선한 길에 서고 악을 싫어하지 아니하는도다
  Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and does not reject what is wrong.

5. 여호와여 주의 인자하심이 하늘에 있고 주의 성실하심이 공중에 사무쳤으며
  Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

6. 주의 의는 하나님의 산들과 같고 주의 판단은 큰 바다와 일반이라 여호와여 주는 사람과 짐승을 보호하시나이다
  Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

7. 하나님이여 주의 인자하심이 어찌 그리 보배로우신지요 인생이 주의 날개 그늘 아래 피하나이다
  How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8. 저희가 주의 집의 살찐 것으로 풍족할 것이라 주께서 주의 복락의 강수로 마시우시리이다
  They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.

9. 대저 생명의 원천이 주께 있사오니 주의 광명 중에 우리가 광명을 보리이다
  For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

10. 주를 아는 자에게 주의 인자하심을 계속하시며 마음이 정직한 자에게 주의 의를 베푸소서
  Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11. 교만한 자의 발이 내게 미치지 못하게 하시며 악인의 손이 나를 쫓아내지 못하게 하소서
  May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12. 죄악을 행하는 자가 거기 넘어졌으니 엎드러지고 다시 일어날 수 없으리이다
  See how the evildoers lie fallen--thrown down, not able to rise!
