사무엘상 24

1. 사울이 블레셋 사람을 따르다가 돌아오매 혹이 그에게 고하여 가로되 보소서 다윗이 엔게디 황무지에 있더이다
  After Saul returned from pursuing the Philistines, he was told, "David is in the Desert of En Gedi."

2. 사울이 온 이스라엘에서 택한 사람 삼천을 거느리고 다윗과 그의 사람들을 찾으러 들염소 바위로 갈쌔
  So Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and set out to look for David and his men near the Crags of the Wild Goats.

3. 길가 양의 우리에 이른즉 굴이 있는지라 사울이 그 발을 가리우러 들어가니라 다윗과 그의 사람들이 그 굴 깊은 곳에 있더니
  He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave.

4. 다윗의 사람들이 가로되 보소서 여호와께서 당신에게 이르시기를 내가 원수를 네 손에 붙이리니 네 소견에 선한 대로 그에게 행하라 하시더니 이것이 그 날이니이다 다윗이 일어나서 사울의 겉옷자락을 가만히 베니라
  The men said, "This is the day the LORD spoke of when he said to you, 'I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.'" Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul's robe.

5. 그리한 후에 사울의 옷자락 벰을 인하여 다윗의 마음이 찔려
  Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe.

6. 자기 사람들에게 이르되 내가 손을 들어 여호와의 기름 부음을 받은 내 주를 치는 것은 여호와의 금하시는 것이니 그는 여호와의 기름 부음을 받은 자가 됨이니라 하고
  He said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the LORD'S anointed, or lift my hand against him; for he is the anointed of the LORD."

7. 다윗이 이 말로 자기 사람들을 금하여 사울을 해하지 못하게 하니라 사울이 일어나 굴에서 나가 자기 길을 가니라
  With these words David rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way.

8. 그 후에 다윗도 일어나 굴에서 나가 사울의 뒤에서 외쳐 가로되 내 주 왕이여 하매 사울이 돌아보는지라 다윗이 땅에 엎드려 절하고
  Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, "My lord the king!" When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

9. 사울에게 이르되 다윗이 왕을 해하려 한다고 하는 사람들의 말을 왕은 어찌하여 들으시나이까
  He said to Saul, "Why do you listen when men say, 'David is bent on harming you'?

10. 오늘 여호와께서 굴에서 왕을 내 손에 붙이신 것을 왕이 아셨을 것이니이다 혹이 나를 권하여 왕을 죽이라 하였으나 내가 왕을 아껴 말하기를 나는 내 손을 들어 내 주를 해치 아니하리니 그는 여호와의 기름 부음을 받은 자가 됨이니라 하였나이다
  This day you have seen with your own eyes how the LORD delivered you into my hands in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you; I said, 'I will not lift my hand against my master, because he is the LORD'S anointed.'

11. 나의 아버지여 보소서 내 손에 있는 왕의 옷자락을 보소서 내가 왕을 죽이지 아니하고 겉옷자락만 베었은즉 나의 손에 악이나 죄과가 없는 줄을 아실찌니이다 왕은 내 생명을 찾아 해하려 하시나 나는 왕에게 범죄한 일이 없나이다
  See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. Now understand and recognize that I am not guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life.

12. 여호와께서는 나와 왕 사이를 판단하사 나를 위하여 왕에게 보복하시려니와 내 손으로는 왕을 해하지 않겠나이다
  May the LORD judge between you and me. And may the LORD avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you.

13. 옛 속담에 말하기를 악은 악인에게서 난다 하였으니 내 손이 왕을 해하지 아니하리이다
  As the old saying goes, 'From evildoers come evil deeds,' so my hand will not touch you.

14. 이스라엘 왕이 누구를 따라 나왔으며 누구를 쫓나이까 죽은 개나 벼룩을 쫓음이니이다
  "Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom are you pursuing? A dead dog? A flea?

15. 그런즉 여호와께서 재판장이 되어 나와 왕 사이에 판결하사 나의 사정을 살펴 신원하시고 나를 왕의 손에서 건지시기를 원하나이다
  May the LORD be our judge and decide between us. May he consider my cause and uphold it; may he vindicate me by delivering me from your hand."

16. 다윗이 사울에게 이같이 말하기를 마치매 사울이 가로되 내 아들 다윗아 이것이 네 목소리냐 하고 소리를 높여 울며
  When David finished saying this, Saul asked, "Is that your voice, David my son?" And he wept aloud.

17. 다윗에게 이르되 나는 너를 학대하되 너는 나를 선대하니 너는 나보다 의롭도다
  "You are more righteous than I," he said. "You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly.

18. 네가 나 선대한 것을 오늘 나타내었나니 여호와께서 나를 네 손에 붙이셨으나 네가 나를 죽이지 아니하였도다
  You have just now told me of the good you did to me; the LORD delivered me into your hands, but you did not kill me.

19. 사람이 그 원수를 만나면 그를 평안히 가게 하겠느냐 네가 오늘날 내게 행한 일을 인하여 여호와께서 네게 선으로 갚으시기를 원하노라
  When a man finds his enemy, does he let him get away unharmed? May the LORD reward you well for the way you treated me today.

20. 보라 나는 네가 반드시 왕이 될 것을 알고 이스라엘 나라가 네 손에 견고히 설 것을 아노니
  I know that you will surely be king and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hands.

21. 그런즉 너는 내 후손을 끊지 아니하며 내 아비의 집에서 내 이름을 멸하지 아니할 것을 이제 여호와로 내게 맹세하라
  Now swear to me by the LORD that you will not cut off my descendants or wipe out my name from my father's family."

22. 다윗이 사울에게 맹세하매 사울은 집으로 돌아가고 다윗과 그의 사람들은 요새로 올라가니라
  So David gave his oath to Saul. Then Saul returned home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

고린도전서 5

1. 너희 중에 심지어 음행이 있다 함을 들으니 이런 음행은 이방인 중에라도 없는 것이라 누가 그 아비의 아내를 취하였다 하는도다
  It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife.

2. 그리하고도 너희가 오히려 교만하여져서 어찌하여 통한히 여기지 아니하고 그 일 행한 자를 너희 중에서 물리치지 아니하였느냐
  And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?

3. 내가 실로 몸으로는 떠나 있으나 영으로는 함께 있어서 거기 있는 것같이 이 일 행한 자를 이미 판단하였노라
  Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.

4. 주 예수의 이름으로 너희가 내 영과 함께 모여서 우리 주 예수의 능력으로
  When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,

5. 이런 자를 사단에게 내어 주었으니 이는 육신은 멸하고 영은 주 예수의 날에 구원 얻게 하려 함이라
  hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.

6. 너희의 자랑하는 것이 옳지 아니하도다 적은 누룩이 온 덩어리에 퍼지는 것을 알지 못하느냐
  Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?

7. 너희는 누룩 없는 자인데 새 덩어리가 되기 위하여 묵은 누룩을 내어 버리라 우리의 유월절 양 곧 그리스도께서 희생이 되셨느니라
  Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

8. 이러므로 우리가 명절을 지키되 묵은 누룩도 말고 괴악하고 악독한 누룩도 말고 오직 순전함과 진실함의 누룩 없는 떡으로 하자
  Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

9. 내가 너희에게 쓴 것에 음행하는 자들을 사귀지 말라 하였거니와
  I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--

10. 이 말은 이 세상의 음행하는 자들이나 탐하는 자들과 토색하는 자들이나 우상 숭배하는 자들을 도무지 사귀지 말라 하는 것이 아니니 만일 그리하려면 세상 밖으로 나가야 할 것이라
  not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.

11. 이제 내가 너희에게 쓴 것은 만일 어떤 형제라 일컫는 자가 음행하거나 탐람하거나 우상 숭배를 하거나 후욕하거나 술 취하거나 토색하거든 사귀지도 말고 그런 자와는 함께 먹지도 말라 함이라
  But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

12. 외인들을 판단하는데 내게 무슨 상관이 있으리요마는 교중 사람들이야 너희가 판단치 아니하랴
  What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?

13. 외인들은 하나님이 판단하시려니와 이 악한 사람은 너희 중에서 내어쫓으라
  God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."

에스겔 3

1. 그가 또 내게 이르시되 인자야 너는 받는 것을 먹으라 너는 이 두루마리를 먹고 가서 이스라엘 족속에게 고하라 하시기로
  And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel."

2. 내가 입을 벌리니 그가 그 두루마리를 내게 먹이시며
  So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.

3. 내게 이르시되 인자야 내가 네게 주는 이 두루마리로 네 배에 넣으며 네 창자에 채우라 하시기에 내가 먹으니 그것이 내 입에서 달기가 꿀 같더라
  Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.

4. 그가 또 내게 이르시되 인자야 이스라엘 족속에게 가서 내 말로 그들에게 고하라
  He then said to me: "Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak my words to them.

5. 너를 방언이 다르거나 말이 어려운 백성에게 보내는 것이 아니요 이스라엘 족속에게 보내는 것이라
  You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel--

6. 너를 방언이 다르거나 말이 어려워 네가 알아듣지 못할 열국에 보내는 것이 아니니라 내가 너를 그들에게 보내었더면 그들은 정녕 네 말을 들었으리라
  not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.

7. 그러나 이스라엘 족속은 이마가 굳고 마음이 강퍅하여 네 말을 듣고자 아니하리니 이는 내 말을 듣고자 아니함이니라
  But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for the whole house of Israel is hardened and obstinate.

8. 내가 그들의 얼굴을 대하도록 네 얼굴을 굳게 하였고 그들의 이마를 대하도록 네 이마를 굳게 하였으되
  But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.

9. 네 이마로 화석보다 굳은 금강석같이 하였으니 그들이 비록 패역한 족속이라도 두려워 말며 그 얼굴을 무서워 말라 하시고
  I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house."

10. 또 내게 이르시되 인자야 내가 네게 이를 모든 말을 너는 마음으로 받으며 귀로 듣고
  And he said to me, "Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you.

11. 사로잡힌 네 민족에게로 가서 그들이 듣든지 아니 듣든지 그들에게 고하여 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀이 이러하시다 하라 하시더라
  Go now to your countrymen in exile and speak to them. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says,' whether they listen or fail to listen."

12. 때에 주의 신이 나를 들어 올리시는데 내 뒤에 크게 울리는 소리가 들려 이르기를 여호와의 처소에서 나는 영광을 찬송할찌어다 하니
  Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound--May the glory of the LORD be praised in his dwelling place!--

13. 이는 생물들의 날개가 서로 부딪히는 소리와 생물 곁에 바퀴 소리라 크게 울리는 소리더라
  the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.

14. 주의 신이 나를 들어올려 데리고 가시는데 내가 근심하고 분한 마음으로 행하니 여호와의 권능이 힘있게 나를 감동하시더라
  The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the LORD upon me.

15. 이에 내가 델아빕에 이르러 그 사로잡힌 백성 곧 그발 강 가에 거하는 자들에게 나아가 그 중에서 민답히 칠 일을 지내니라
  I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Abib near the Kebar River. And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days--overwhelmed.

16. 칠 일 후에 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
  At the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me:

17. 인자야 내가 너를 이스라엘 족속의 파숫군으로 세웠으니 너는 내 입의 말을 듣고 나를 대신하여 그들을 깨우치라
  "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

18. 가령 내가 악인에게 말하기를 너는 꼭 죽으리라 할 때에 네가 깨우치지 아니하거나 말로 악인에게 일러서 그 악한 길을 떠나 생명을 구원케 하지 아니하면 그 악인은 그 죄악 중에서 죽으려니와 내가 그 피 값을 네 손에서 찾을 것이고
  When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.

19. 네가 악인을 깨우치되 그가 그 악한 마음과 악한 행위에서 돌이키지 아니하면 그는 그 죄악 중에서 죽으려니와 너는 네 생명을 보존하리라
  But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself.

20. 또 의인이 그 의에서 돌이켜 악을 행할 때에는 이미 행한 그 의는 기억할바 아니라 내가 그 앞에 거치는 것을 두면 그가 죽을찌니 이는 네가 그를 깨우치지 않음이라 그가 그 죄 중에서 죽으려니와 그 피 값은 내가 네 손에서 찾으리라
  "Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.

21. 그러나 네가 그 의인을 깨우쳐 범죄치 않게 하므로 그가 범죄치 아니하면 정녕 살리니 이는 깨우침을 받음이며 너도 네 영혼을 보존하리라
  But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself."

22. 여호와께서 권능으로 거기서 내게 임하시고 또 내게 이르시되 일어나 들로 나아가라 내가 거기서 너와 말하리라 하시기로
  The hand of the LORD was upon me there, and he said to me, "Get up and go out to the plain, and there I will speak to you."

23. 내가 일어나 들로 나아가니 여호와의 영광이 거기 머물렀는데 내가 전에 그발 강 가에서 보던 영광과 같은지라 내가 곧 엎드리니
  So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the LORD was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown.

24. 주의 신이 내게 임하사 나를 일으켜 세우시고 내게 말씀하여 가라사대 너는 가서 네 집에 들어가 문을 닫으라
  Then the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet. He spoke to me and said: "Go, shut yourself inside your house.

25. 인자야 무리가 줄로 너를 동여매리니 네가 그들 가운데서 나오지 못할 것이라
  And you, son of man, they will tie with ropes; you will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people.

26. 내가 네 혀로 네 입천장에 붙게 하여 너로 벙어리 되어 그들의 책망자가 되지 못하게 하리니 그들은 패역한 족속임이니라
  I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, though they are a rebellious house.

27. 그러나 내가 너와 말할 때에 네 입을 열리니 너는 그들에게 이르기를 주 여호와의 말씀이 이러하시다 하라 들을 자는 들을 것이요 듣기 싫은 자는 듣지 아니하리니 그들은 패역한 족속임이니라
  But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.' Whoever will listen let him listen, and whoever will refuse let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

시편 39

1. 내가 말하기를 나의 행위를 조심하여 내 혀로 범죄치 아니하리니 악인이 내 앞에 있을 때에 내가 내 입에 자갈을 먹이리라 하였도다
  For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence."

2. 내가 잠잠하여 선한 말도 발하지 아니하니 나의 근심이 더 심하도다
  But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything good, my anguish increased.

3. 내 마음이 내 속에서 뜨거워서 묵상할 때에 화가 발하니 나의 혀로 말하기를
  My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:

4. 여호와여 나의 종말과 연한의 어떠함을 알게 하사 나로 나의 연약함을 알게 하소서
  "Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.

5. 주께서 나의 날을 손 넓이만큼 되게 하시매 나의 일생이 주의 앞에는 없는 것 같사오니 사람마다 그 든든히 선 때도 진실로 허사뿐이니이다 (셀라)
  You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath. Selah

6. 진실로 각 사람은 그림자같이 다니고 헛된 일에 분요하며 재물을 쌓으나 누가 취할는지 알지 못하나이다
  Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.

7. 주여 내가 무엇을 바라리요 나의 소망은 주께 있나이다
  "But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

8. 나를 모든 죄과에서 건지시며 우매한 자에게 욕을 보지 않게 하소서
  Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools.

9. 내가 잠잠하고 입을 열지 아니하옴은 주께서 이를 행하신 연고니이다
  I was silent; I would not open my mouth, for you are the one who has done this.

10. 주의 징책을 나에게서 옮기소서 주의 손이 치심으로 내가 쇠망하였나이다
  Remove your scourge from me; I am overcome by the blow of your hand.

11. 주께서 죄악을 견책하사 사람을 징계하실 때에 그 영화를 좀 먹음같이 소멸하게 하시니 참으로 각 사람은 허사뿐이니이다 (셀라)
  You rebuke and discipline men for their sin; you consume their wealth like a moth--each man is but a breath. Selah

12. 여호와여 나의 기도를 들으시며 나의 부르짖음에 귀를 기울이소서 내가 눈물 흘릴 때에 잠잠하지 마옵소서 대저 나는 주께 객이 되고 거류자가 됨이 나의 모든 열조 같으니이다
  "Hear my prayer, O LORD, listen to my cry for help; be not deaf to my weeping. For I dwell with you as an alien, a stranger, as all my fathers were.

13. 주는 나를 용서하사 내가 떠나 없어지기 전에 나의 건강을 회복시키소서
  Look away from me, that I may rejoice again before I depart and am no more."
