사무엘상 11

1. 암몬 사람 나하스가 올라와서 길르앗 야베스를 대하여 진치매 야베스 모든 사람이 나하스에게 이르되 우리와 언약하자 그리하면 우리가 너를 섬기리라
  Nahash the Ammonite went up and besieged Jabesh Gilead. And all the men of Jabesh said to him, "Make a treaty with us, and we will be subject to you."

2. 암몬 사람 나하스가 그들에게 이르되 내가 너희 오른눈을 다 빼어야 너희와 언약하리라 내가 온 이스라엘을 이같이 모욕하리라
  But Nahash the Ammonite replied, "I will make a treaty with you only on the condition that I gouge out the right eye of every one of you and so bring disgrace on all Israel."

3. 야베스 장로들이 이르되 우리에게 이레 유예를 주어 우리로 이스라엘 온 지경에 사자를 보내게 하라 우리를 구원할 자가 없으면 네게 나아가리라 하니라
  The elders of Jabesh said to him, "Give us seven days so we can send messengers throughout Israel; if no one comes to rescue us, we will surrender to you."

4. 이에 사자가 사울의 기브아에 이르러 이 말을 백성에게 고하매 모든 백성이 소리를 높여 울더니
  When the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and reported these terms to the people, they all wept aloud.

5. 마침 사울이 밭에서 소를 몰고 오다가 가로되 백성이 무슨 일로 우느냐 그들이 야베스 사람의 말로 고하니라
  Just then Saul was returning from the fields, behind his oxen, and he asked, "What is wrong with the people? Why are they weeping?" Then they repeated to him what the men of Jabesh had said.

6. 사울이 이 말을 들을 때에 하나님의 신에게 크게 감동되매 그 노가 크게 일어나서
  When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came upon him in power, and he burned with anger.

7. 한 겨리 소를 취하여 각을 뜨고 사자의 손으로 그것을 이스라엘 모든 지경에 두루 보내어 가로되 누구든지 나와서 사울과 사무엘을 좇지 아니하면 그 소들도 이와 같이 하리라 하였더니 여호와의 두려움이 백성에게 임하매 그들이 한 사람같이 나온지라
  He took a pair of oxen, cut them into pieces, and sent the pieces by messengers throughout Israel, proclaiming, "This is what will be done to the oxen of anyone who does not follow Saul and Samuel." Then the terror of the LORD fell on the people, and they turned out as one man.

8. 사울이 베섹에서 그들을 계수하니 이스라엘 자손이 삼십 만이요 유다 사람이 삼 만이더라
  When Saul mustered them at Bezek, the men of Israel numbered three hundred thousand and the men of Judah thirty thousand.

9. 무리가 온 사자들에게 이르되 너희는 길르앗 야베스 사람에게 이같이 이르기를 내일 해가 더울 때에 너희가 구원을 얻으리라 하라 사자들이 돌아가서 야베스 사람들에게 고하매 그들이 기뻐하니라
  They told the messengers who had come, "Say to the men of Jabesh Gilead, 'By the time the sun is hot tomorrow, you will be delivered.'" When the messengers went and reported this to the men of Jabesh, they were elated.

10. 야베스 사람들이 이에 가로되 우리가 내일 너희에게 나아가리니 너희 소견에 좋을 대로 우리에게 다 행하라 하니라
  They said to the Ammonites, "Tomorrow we will surrender to you, and you can do to us whatever seems good to you."

11. 이튿날에 사울이 백성을 삼 대에 나누고 새벽에 적진 중에 들어가서 날이 더울 때까지 암몬 사람을 치매 남은 자가 다 흩어져서 둘도 함께한 자가 없었더라
  The next day Saul separated his men into three divisions; during the last watch of the night they broke into the camp of the Ammonites and slaughtered them until the heat of the day. Those who survived were scattered, so that no two of them were left together.

12. 백성이 사무엘에게 이르되 사울이 어찌 우리를 다스리겠느냐 한 자가 누구니이까 그들을 끌어내소서 우리가 죽이겠나이다
  The people then said to Samuel, "Who was it that asked, 'Shall Saul reign over us?' Bring these men to us and we will put them to death."

13. 사울이 가로되 이 날에는 사람을 죽이지 못하리니 여호와께서 오늘날 이스라엘 중에 구원을 베푸셨음이니라
  But Saul said, "No one shall be put to death today, for this day the LORD has rescued Israel."

14. 사무엘이 백성에게 이르되 오라 우리가 길갈로 가서 나라를 새롭게 하자
  Then Samuel said to the people, "Come, let us go to Gilgal and there reaffirm the kingship."

15. 모든 백성이 길갈로 가서 거기서 여호와 앞에 사울로 왕을 삼고 거기서 여호와 앞에 화목제를 드리고 사울과 이스라엘 모든 사람이 거기서 크게 기뻐하니라
  So all the people went to Gilgal and confirmed Saul as king in the presence of the LORD. There they sacrificed fellowship offerings before the LORD, and Saul and all the Israelites held a great celebration.

로마서 9

1. 내가 그리스도 안에서 참말을 하고 거짓말을 아니하노라 내게 큰 근심이 있는 것과 마음에 그치지 않는 고통이 있는 것을 내 양심이 성령 안에서 나로 더불어 증거하노니
  I speak the truth in Christ--I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit--

2. 1절과 같음
  I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.

3. 나의 형제 곧 골육의 친척을 위하여 내 자신이 저주를 받아 그리스도에게서 끊어질찌라도 원하는 바로라
  For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race,

4. 저희는 이스라엘 사람이라 저희에게는 양자 됨과 영광과 언약들과 율법을 세우신 것과 예배와 약속들이 있고
  the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.

5. 조상들도 저희 것이요 육신으로 하면 그리스도가 저희에게서 나셨으니 저는 만물 위에 계셔 세세에 찬양을 받으실 하나님이시니라 아멘
  Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

6. 또한 하나님의 말씀이 폐하여진 것 같지 않도다 이스라엘에게서 난 그들이 다 이스라엘이 아니요
  It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

7. 또한 아브라함의 씨가 다 그 자녀가 아니라 오직 이삭으로부터 난 자라야 네 씨라 칭하리라 하셨으니
  Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."

8. 곧 육신의 자녀가 하나님의 자녀가 아니라 오직 약속의 자녀가 씨로 여기심을 받느니라
  In other words, it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring.

9. 약속의 말씀은 이것이라 명년 이 때에 내가 이르리니 사라에게 아들이 있으리라 하시니라
  For this was how the promise was stated: "At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son."

10. 이뿐 아니라 또한 리브가가 우리 조상 이삭 한 사람으로 말미암아 잉태하였는데
  Not only that, but Rebekah's children had one and the same father, our father Isaac.

11. 그 자식들이 아직 나지도 아니하고 무슨 선이나 악을 행하지 아니한 때에 택하심을 따라 되는 하나님의 뜻이 행위로 말미암지 않고 오직 부르시는 이에게로 말미암아 서게 하려 하사
  Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad--in order that God's purpose in election might stand:

12. 리브가에게 이르시되 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨나니
  not by works but by him who calls--she was told, "The older will serve the younger."

13. 기록된 바 내가 야곱은 사랑하고 에서는 미워하였다 하심과 같으니라
  Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated."

14. 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 하나님께 불의가 있느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라
  What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!

15. 모세에게 이르시되 내가 긍휼히 여길 자를 긍휼히 여기고 불쌍히 여길 자를 불쌍히 여기리라 하셨으니
  For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."

16. 그런즉 원하는 자로 말미암음도 아니요 달음박질하는 자로 말미암음도 아니요 오직 긍휼히 여기시는 하나님으로 말미암음이니라
  It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

17. 성경이 바로에게 이르시되 내가 이 일을 위하여 너를 세웠으니 곧 너로 말미암아 내 능력을 보이고 내 이름이 온 땅에 전파되게 하려 함이로라 하셨으니
  For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

18. 그런즉 하나님께서 하고자 하시는 자를 긍휼히 여기시고 하고자 하시는 자를 강퍅케 하시느니라
  Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

19. 혹 네가 내게 말하기를 그러면 하나님이 어찌하여 허물하시느뇨 누가 그 뜻을 대적하느뇨 하리니
  One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?"

20. 이 사람아 네가 뉘기에 감히 하나님을 힐문하느뇨 지음을 받은 물건이 지은 자에게 어찌 나를 이같이 만들었느냐 말하겠느뇨
  But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"

21. 토기장이가 진흙 한 덩이로 하나는 귀히 쓸 그릇을, 하나는 천히 쓸 그릇을 만드는 권이 없느냐
  Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

22. 만일 하나님이 그 진노를 보이시고 그 능력을 알게 하고자 하사 멸하기로 준비된 진노의 그릇을 오래 참으심으로 관용하시고
  What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction?

23. 또한 영광 받기로 예비하신바 긍휼의 그릇에 대하여 그 영광의 부요함을 알게 하고자 하셨을찌라도 무슨 말 하리요
  What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory--

24. 이 그릇은 우리니 곧 유대인 중에서 뿐 아니라 이방인 중에서도 부르신 자니라
  even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

25. 호세아 글에도 이르기를 내가 내 백성 아닌 자를 내 백성이라, 사랑치 아니한 자를 사랑한 자라 부르리라
  As he says in Hosea: "I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one,"

26. 너희는 내 백성이 아니라 한 그 곳에서 저희가 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이라 부름을 얻으리라 함과 같으니라
  and, "It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.'"

27. 또 이사야가 이스라엘에 관하여 외치되 이스라엘 뭇자손의 수가 비록 바다의 모래 같을찌라도 남은 자만 구원을 얻으리니
  Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.

28. 주께서 땅 위에서 그 말씀을 이루사 필하시고 끝내시리라 하셨느니라
  For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality."

29. 또한 이사야가 미리 말한 바 만일 만군의 주께서 우리에게 씨를 남겨 두시지 아니하셨더면 우리가 소돔과 같이 되고 고모라와 같았으리로다 함과 같으니라
  It is just as Isaiah said previously: "Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah."

30. 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 의를 좇지 아니한 이방인들이 의를 얻었으니 곧 믿음에서 난 의요
  What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;

31. 의의 법을 좇아간 이스라엘은 법에 이르지 못하였으니
  but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it.

32. 어찌 그러하뇨 이는 저희가 믿음에 의지하지 않고 행위에 의지함이라 부딪힐 돌에 부딪혔느니라
  Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone."

33. 기록된 바 보라 내가 부딪히는 돌과 거치는 반석을 시온에 두노니 저를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당치 아니하리라 함과 같으니라
  As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

예레미야 48

1. 모압에 대한 말씀이라 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하시되 슬프다 느보여 그것이 황폐되었도다 기랴다임이 수치를 당하여 점령되었고 미스갑이 수치를 당하여 파괴되었으니
  Concerning Moab: This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Woe to Nebo, for it will be ruined. Kiriathaim will be disgraced and captured; the stronghold will be disgraced and shattered.

2. 모압의 칭송이 없어졌도다 헤스본에서 무리가 그를 모해하여 이르기를 와서 그를 끊어서 나라를 이루지 못하게 하자 하는도다 맛멘이여 너도 적막하게 되리니 칼이 너를 따르리로다
  Moab will be praised no more; in Heshbon men will plot her downfall: 'Come, let us put an end to that nation.' You too, O Madmen, will be silenced; the sword will pursue you.

3. 호로나임에서 부르짖는 소리여 황무와 큰 파멸이로다
  Listen to the cries from Horonaim, cries of great havoc and destruction.

4. 모압이 멸망을 당하여 그 영아들의 부르짖음이 들리는도다
  Moab will be broken; her little ones will cry out.

5. 그들이 울고 울며 루힛 언덕으로 올라감이여 호로나임 내려가는 데서 참패를 부르짖는 고통이 들리도다
  They go up the way to Luhith, weeping bitterly as they go; on the road down to Horonaim anguished cries over the destruction are heard.

6. 도망하여 네 생명을 구원하여 광야의 떨기나무 같이 될찌어다
  Flee! Run for your lives; become like a bush in the desert.

7. 네가 네 공작과 보물을 의뢰하므로 너도 취함을 당할 것이요 그모스는 그 제사장들과 방백들과 함께 포로되어 갈 것이라
  Since you trust in your deeds and riches, you too will be taken captive, and Chemosh will go into exile, together with his priests and officials.

8. 파멸하는 자가 각 성에 이를 것인즉 한 성도 면치 못할 것이며 골짜기는 훼파되며 평원은 파멸되어 여호와의 말씀과 같으리로다
  The destroyer will come against every town, and not a town will escape. The valley will be ruined and the plateau destroyed, because the LORD has spoken.

9. 모압에 날개를 주어 날아 피하게 하라 그 성읍들이 황무하여 거기 거하는 자 없으리로다
  Put salt on Moab, for she will be laid waste; her towns will become desolate, with no one to live in them.

10. 여호와의 일을 태만히 하는 자는 저주를 받을 것이요 자기 칼을 금하여 피를 흘리지 아니하는 자도 저주를 당할 것이로다
  "A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD'S work! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!

11. 모압은 예로부터 평안하고 포로도 되지 아니하였으므로 마치 술의 그 찌끼 위에 있고 이 그릇에서 저 그릇으로 옮기지 않음 같아서 그 맛이 남아 있고 냄새가 변치 아니하였도다
  "Moab has been at rest from youth, like wine left on its dregs, not poured from one jar to another--she has not gone into exile. So she tastes as she did, and her aroma is unchanged.

12. 그러므로 나 여호와가 말하노라 날이 이르리니 내가 그 그릇을 기울일 자를 보낼 것이라 그들이 기울여서 그 그릇을 비게 하고 그 병들을 부수리니
  But days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will send men who pour from jars, and they will pour her out; they will empty her jars and smash her jugs.

13. 이스라엘 집이 벧엘을 의뢰하므로 수치를 당한 것같이 모압이 그모스로 인하여 수치를 당하리로다
  Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed when they trusted in Bethel.

14. 너희가 어찌하여 말하기를 우리는 용사요 전쟁의 맹사라 하느뇨
  "How can you say, 'We are warriors, men valiant in battle'?

15. 만군의 여호와라 일컫는 왕이 이같이 말하노라 모압이 황폐되었도다 그 성읍들은 연기가 되어 올라가고 그 택한 청년들은 내려가서 살륙을 당하니
  Moab will be destroyed and her towns invaded; her finest young men will go down in the slaughter," declares the King, whose name is the LORD Almighty.

16. 모압의 재난이 가까왔고 그 고난이 속히 임하리로다
  "The fall of Moab is at hand; her calamity will come quickly.

17. 그의 사면에 있는 모든 자여, 그 이름을 아는 모든 자여, 그를 위하여 탄식하여 말하기를 어찌하여 강한 막대기, 아름다운 지팡이가 부러졌는고 할찌니라
  Mourn for her, all who live around her, all who know her fame; say, 'How broken is the mighty scepter, how broken the glorious staff!'

18. 디본에 거하는 딸아 네 영광 자리에서 내려 메마른 데 앉으라 모압을 파멸하는 자가 올라와서 너를 쳐서 네 요새를 파하였음이로다
  "Come down from your glory and sit on the parched ground, O inhabitants of the Daughter of Dibon, for he who destroys Moab will come up against you and ruin your fortified cities.

19. 아로엘에 거하는 여인이여 길곁에 서서 지키며 도망하는 자와 피하는 자에게 일이 어찌 되었는가 물을찌어다
  Stand by the road and watch, you who live in Aroer. Ask the man fleeing and the woman escaping, ask them, 'What has happened?'

20. 모압이 패하여 수치를 받나니 너희는 곡하며 부르짖으며 아르논가에서 이르기를 모압이 황무하였다 할찌어다
  Moab is disgraced, for she is shattered. Wail and cry out! Announce by the Arnon that Moab is destroyed.

21. 심판이 평지에 임하였나니 곧 홀론과 야사와 메바앗과
  Judgment has come to the plateau--to Holon, Jahzah and Mephaath,

22. 디본과 느보와 벧디불라다임과
  to Dibon, Nebo and Beth Diblathaim,

23. 기랴다임과 벧가물과 벧므온과
  to Kiriathaim, Beth Gamul and Beth Meon,

24. 그리욧과 보스라와 모압 땅 원근 모든 성에로다
  to Kerioth and Bozrah--to all the towns of Moab, far and near.

25. 모압의 뿔이 찍혔고 그 팔이 부러졌도다 여호와의 말이니라
  Moab's horn is cut off; her arm is broken," declares the LORD.

26. 모압으로 취하게 할찌어다 이는 그가 나 여호와를 거스려 자만함이라 그가 그 토한 것에서 굴므로 조롱거리가 되리로다
  "Make her drunk, for she has defied the LORD. Let Moab wallow in her vomit; let her be an object of ridicule.

27. 네가 이스라엘을 조롱하지 아니하였느냐 그가 도적 중에서 발견되었느냐 네가 그를 말할 때마다 네 머리를 흔드는도다
  Was not Israel the object of your ridicule? Was she caught among thieves, that you shake your head in scorn whenever you speak of her?

28. 모압 거민들아 너희는 성읍을 떠나 바위 사이에 거할찌어다 깊은 골짜기 어귀에 깃들이는 비둘기 같이 할찌어다
  Abandon your towns and dwell among the rocks, you who live in Moab. Be like a dove that makes its nest at the mouth of a cave.

29. 우리가 모압의 교만을 들었나니 심한 교만 곧 그 자고와 오만과 자긍과 그 마음의 거만이로다
  "We have heard of Moab's pride--her overweening pride and conceit, her pride and arrogance and the haughtiness of her heart.

30. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 그 노함의 허탄함을 아노니 그가 자긍하여도 아무것도 성취치 못하였도다
  I know her insolence but it is futile," declares the LORD, "and her boasts accomplish nothing.

31. 그러므로 내가 모압을 위하여 울며 온 모압을 위하여 부르짖으리니 무리가 길헤레스 사람을 위하여 슬퍼하리로다
  Therefore I wail over Moab, for all Moab I cry out, I moan for the men of Kir Hareseth.

32. 십마의 포도나무여 너의 가지가 바다를 넘어 야셀 바다까지 뻗었더니 너의 여름 실과와 포도에 파멸하는 자가 이르렀으니 내가 너를 위하여 곡하기를 야셀의 곡함보다 더하리로다
  I weep for you, as Jazer weeps, O vines of Sibmah. Your branches spread as far as the sea; they reached as far as the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your ripened fruit and grapes.

33. 기쁨과 즐거움이 옥토와 모압 땅에서 빼앗겼도다 내가 포도주 틀에 포도주가 없게 하리니 외치며 밟는 자가 없을 것이라 그 외침은 즐거운 외침이 되지 못하리로다
  Joy and gladness are gone from the orchards and fields of Moab. I have stopped the flow of wine from the presses; no one treads them with shouts of joy. Although there are shouts, they are not shouts of joy.

34. 헤스본에서 엘르알레를 지나 야하스까지와 소알에서 호로나임을 지나 에글랏셀리시야까지의 사람들이 소리를 발하여 부르짖음은 니므림의 물도 말랐음이로다
  "The sound of their cry rises from Heshbon to Elealeh and Jahaz, from Zoar as far as Horonaim and Eglath Shelishiyah, for even the waters of Nimrim are dried up.

35. 나 여호와가 말하노라 모압 산당에서 제사하며 그 신들에게 분향하는 자를 내가 그치게 하리라
  In Moab I will put an end to those who make offerings on the high places and burn incense to their gods," declares the LORD.

36. 그러므로 나의 마음이 모압을 위하여 피리같이 소리하며 나의 마음이 길헤레스 사람들을 위하여 피리같이 소리하나니 이는 그 모았던 재물이 없어졌음이니라
  "So my heart laments for Moab like a flute; it laments like a flute for the men of Kir Hareseth. The wealth they acquired is gone.

37. 각 사람의 두발이 밀렸고 수염이 깎였으며 손이 베어졌으며 허리에 굵은 베가 둘렸고
  Every head is shaved and every beard cut off; every hand is slashed and every waist is covered with sackcloth.

38. 모압의 모든 지붕에서와 거리 각처에서 애곡함이 있으니 내가 모압을 재미 없는 그릇같이 깨뜨렸음이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  On all the roofs in Moab and in the public squares there is nothing but mourning, for I have broken Moab like a jar that no one wants," declares the LORD.

39. 아하 모압이 파괴되었도다 그들이 애곡하는도다 모압이 부끄러워서 등을 돌이켰도다 그런즉 모압이 그 사방 모든 자의 조롱거리와 두려움이 되리로다
  "How shattered she is! How they wail! How Moab turns her back in shame! Moab has become an object of ridicule, an object of horror to all those around her."

40. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 보라 그가 독수리같이 날아와서 모압 위에 그 날개를 펴리라
  This is what the LORD says: "Look! An eagle is swooping down, spreading its wings over Moab.

41. 성읍들이 취함을 당하며 요새가 함락되는 날에 모압 용사의 마음이 구로하는 여인 같을 것이라
  Kerioth will be captured and the strongholds taken. In that day the hearts of Moab's warriors will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

42. 모압이 여호와를 거스려 자만하였으므로 멸망하고 다시 나라를 이루지 못하리로다
  Moab will be destroyed as a nation because she defied the LORD.

43. 나 여호와가 말하노라 모압 거민아 두려움과 함정과 올무가 네게 임하나니
  Terror and pit and snare await you, O people of Moab," declares the LORD.

44. 두려움에서 도망하는 자는 함정에 떨어지겠고 함정에서 나오는 자는 올무에 걸리리니 이는 내가 모압의 벌받을 해로 임하게 할 것임이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  "Whoever flees from the terror will fall into a pit, whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare; for I will bring upon Moab the year of her punishment," declares the LORD.

45. 도망하는 자들이 기진하여 헤스본 그늘 아래 서니 이는 불이 헤스본에서 발하며 화염이 시혼의 속에서 나서 모압의 살쩍과 훤화하는 자들의 정수리를 사름이로다
  "In the shadow of Heshbon the fugitives stand helpless, for a fire has gone out from Heshbon, a blaze from the midst of Sihon; it burns the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of the noisy boasters.

46. 모압이여 네게 화 있도다 그모스 백성이 망하였도다 네 아들들은 사로잡혀 갔고 네 딸들은 포로가 되었도다
  Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are destroyed; your sons are taken into exile and your daughters into captivity.

47. 그러나 내가 말일에 모압의 포로로 돌아오게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라 하시니라 모압을 심판하는 말씀이 이에 그쳤느니라
  "Yet I will restore the fortunes of Moab in days to come," declares the LORD. Here ends the judgment on Moab.

시편 25

1. 여호와여 나의 영혼이 주를 우러러 보나이다
  Of David. To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

2. 나의 하나님이여 내가 주께 의지하였사오니 나로 부끄럽지 않게 하시고 나의 원수로 나를 이기어 개가를 부르지 못하게 하소서
  in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

3. 주를 바라는 자는 수치를 당하지 아니하려니와 무고히 속이는 자는 수치를 당하리이다
  No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

4. 여호와여 주의 도를 내게 보이시고 주의 길을 내게 가르치소서
  Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

5. 주의 진리로 나를 지도하시고 교훈하소서 주는 내 구원의 하나님이시니 내가 종일 주를 바라나이다
  guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

6. 여호와여 주의 긍휼하심과 인자하심이 영원부터 있었사오니 주여 이것을 기억하옵소서
  Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

7. 여호와여 내 소시의 죄와 허물을 기억지 마시고 주의 인자하심을 따라 나를 기억하시되 주의 선하심을 인하여 하옵소서
  Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

8. 여호와는 선하시고 정직하시니 그러므로 그 도로 죄인을 교훈하시리로다
  Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

9. 온유한 자를 공의로 지도하심이여 온유한 자에게 그 도를 가르치시리로다
  He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

10. 여호와의 모든 길은 그 언약과 증거를 지키는 자에게 인자와 진리로다
  All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

11. 여호와여 나의 죄악이 중대하오니 주의 이름을 인하여 사하소서
  For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12. 여호와를 경외하는 자 누구뇨 그 택할 길을 저에게 가르치시리로다
  Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

13. 저의 영혼은 평안히 거하고 그 자손은 땅을 상속하리로다
  He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.

14. 여호와의 친밀함이 경외하는 자에게 있음이여 그 언약을 저희에게 보이시리로다
  The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

15. 내 눈이 항상 여호와를 앙망함은 내 발을 그물에서 벗어나게 하실 것임이로다
  My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

16. 주여 나는 외롭고 괴롭사오니 내게 돌이키사 나를 긍휼히 여기소서
  Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

17. 내 마음의 근심이 많사오니 나를 곤난에서 끌어내소서
  The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish.

18. 나의 곤고와 환난을 보시고 내 모든 죄를 사하소서
  Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.

19. 내 원수를 보소서 저희가 많고 나를 심히 미워함이니이다
  See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!

20. 내 영혼을 지켜 나를 구원하소서 내가 주께 피하오니 수치를 당치 말게 하소서
  Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

21. 내가 주를 바라오니 성실과 정직으로 나를 보호하소서
  May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.

22. 하나님이여 이스라엘을 그 모든 환난에서 구속하소서
  Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles!
