사무엘상 7-8

1. 기럇여아림 사람들이 와서 여호와의 궤를 옮겨 산에 사는 아비나답의 집에 들여 놓고 그 아들 엘리아살을 거룩히 구별하여 여호와의 궤를 지키게 하였더니
  So the men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD. They took it to Abinadab's house on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the LORD.

2. 궤가 기럇여아림에 들어간 날부터 이십 년 동안을 오래 있은지라 이스라엘 온 족속이 여호와를 사모하니라
  It was a long time, twenty years in all, that the ark remained at Kiriath Jearim, and all the people of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD.

3. 사무엘이 이스라엘 온 족속에게 일러 가로되 너희가 전심으로 여호와께 돌아오려거든 이방 신들과 아스다롯을 너희 중에서 제하고 너희 마음을 여호와께로 향하여 그만 섬기라 너희를 블레셋 사람의 손에서 건져내시리라
  And Samuel said to the whole house of Israel, "If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

4. 이에 이스라엘 자손이 바알들과 아스다롯을 제하고 여호와만 섬기니라
  So the Israelites put away their Baals and Ashtoreths, and served the LORD only.

5. 사무엘이 가로되 온 이스라엘은 미스바로 모이라 내가 너희를 위하여 여호와께 기도하리라 하매
  Then Samuel said, "Assemble all Israel at Mizpah and I will intercede with the LORD for you."

6. 그들이 미스바에 모여 물을 길어 여호와 앞에 붓고 그 날에 금식하고 거기서 가로되 우리가 여호와께 범죄하였나이다 하니라 사무엘이 미스바에서 이스라엘 자손을 다스리니라
  When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the LORD. On that day they fasted and there they confessed, "We have sinned against the LORD." And Samuel was leader of Israel at Mizpah.

7. 이스라엘 자손이 미스바에 모였다 함을 블레셋 사람이 듣고 그 방백들이 이스라엘을 치러 올라온지라 이스라엘 자손이 듣고 블레셋 사람을 두려워하여
  When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. And when the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines.

8. 사무엘에게 이르되 당신은 우리를 위하여 우리 하나님 여호와께 쉬지 말고 부르짖어 우리를 블레셋 사람의 손에서 구원하시게 하소서
  They said to Samuel, "Do not stop crying out to the LORD our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines."

9. 사무엘이 젖 먹는 어린 양을 취하여 온전한 번제를 여호와께 드리고 이스라엘을 위하여 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 응답하셨더라
  Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it up as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on Israel's behalf, and the LORD answered him.

10. 사무엘이 번제를 드릴 때에 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘과 싸우려고 가까이 오매 그 날에 여호와께서 블레셋 사람에게 큰 우뢰를 발하여 그들을 어지럽게 하시니 그들이 이스라엘 앞에 패한지라
  While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the LORD thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites.

11. 이스라엘 사람들이 미스바에서 나가서 블레셋 사람을 따라 벧갈 아래에 이르기까지 쳤더라
  The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Car.

12. 사무엘이 돌을 취하여 미스바와 센 사이에 세워 가로되 여호와께서 여기까지 우리를 도우셨다 하고 그 이름을 에벤에셀이라 하니라
  Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far has the LORD helped us."

13. 이에 블레셋 사람이 굴복하여 다시는 이스라엘 경내에 들어오지 못하였으며 여호와의 손이 사무엘의 사는 날 동안에 블레셋 사람을 막으시매
  So the Philistines were subdued and did not invade Israelite territory again. Throughout Samuel's lifetime, the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines.

14. 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘에게서 빼앗았던 성읍이 에그론부터 가드까지 이스라엘에게 회복되니 이스라엘이 그 사방 지경을 블레셋 사람의 손에서 도로 찾았고 또 이스라엘과 아모리 사람 사이에 평화가 있었더라
  The towns from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had captured from Israel were restored to her, and Israel delivered the neighboring territory from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15. 사무엘이 사는 날 동안에 이스라엘을 다스렸으되
  Samuel continued as judge over Israel all the days of his life.

16. 해마다 벧엘과 길갈과 미스바로 순회하여 그 모든 곳에서 이스라엘을 다스렸고
  From year to year he went on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah, judging Israel in all those places.

17. 라마로 돌아왔으니 이는 거기 자기 집이 있음이라 거기서도 이스라엘을 다스렸으며 또 거기 여호와를 위하여 단을 쌓았더라
  But he always went back to Ramah, where his home was, and there he also judged Israel. And he built an altar there to the LORD.

1. 사무엘이 늙으매 그 아들들로 이스라엘 사사를 삼으니
  When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges for Israel.

2. 장자의 이름은 요엘이요 차자의 이름은 아비야라 그들이 브엘세바에서 사사가 되니라
  The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba.

3. 그 아들들이 그 아비의 행위를 따르지 아니하고 이를 따라서 뇌물을 취하고 판결을 굽게 하니라
  But his sons did not walk in his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.

4. 이스라엘 모든 장로가 모여 라마에 있는 사무엘에게 나아가서
  So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.

5. 그에게 이르되 보소서 당신은 늙고 당신의 아들들은 당신의 행위를 따르지 아니하니 열방과 같이 우리에게 왕을 세워 우리를 다스리게 하소서 한지라
  They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have."

6. 우리에게 왕을 주어 우리를 다스리게 하라 한 그것을 사무엘이 기뻐하지 아니하여 여호와께 기도하매
  But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD.

7. 여호와께서 사무엘에게 이르시되 백성이 네게 한 말을 다 들으라 그들이 너를 버림이 아니요 나를 버려 자기들의 왕이 되지 못하게 함이니라
  And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.

8. 내가 그들을 애굽에서 인도하여 낸 날부터 오늘날까지 그들이 모든 행사로 나를 버리고 다른 신들을 섬김같이 네게도 그리하는도다
  As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

9. 그러므로 그들의 말을 듣되 너는 그들에게 엄히 경계하고 그들을 다스릴 왕의 제도를 알게 하라
  Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."

10. 사무엘이 왕을 구하는 백성에게 여호와의 모든 말씀을 일러
  Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who were asking him for a king.

11. 가로되 너희를 다스릴 왕의 제도가 이러하니라 그가 너희 아들들을 취하여 그 병거와 말을 어거케 하리니 그들이 그 병거 앞에서 달릴 것이며
  He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots.

12. 그가 또 너희 아들들로 천부장과 오십부장을 삼을 것이며 자기 밭을 갈게 하고 자기 추수를 하게 할 것이며 자기 병기와 병거의 제구를 만들게 할 것이며
  Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.

13. 그가 또 너희 딸들을 취하여 향료 만드는 자와 요리하는 자와 떡 굽는 자를 삼을 것이며
  He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers.

14. 그가 또 너희 밭과 포도원과 감람원의 제일 좋은 것을 취하여 자기 신하들에게 줄 것이며
  He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants.

15. 그가 또 너희 곡식과 포도원 소산의 십일조를 취하여 자기 관리와 신하에게 줄 것이며
  He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants.

16. 그가 또 너희 노비와 가장 아름다운 소년과 나귀들을 취하여 자기 일을 시킬 것이며
  Your menservants and maidservants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use.

17. 너희 양 떼의 십분 일을 취하리니 너희가 그 종이 될 것이라
  He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.

18. 그 날에 너희가 너희 택한 왕을 인하여 부르짖되 그 날에 여호와께서 너희에게 응답지 아니하시리라
  When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day."

19. 백성이 사무엘의 말 듣기를 거절하여 가로되 아니로소이다 우리도 우리 왕이 있어야 하리니
  But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us.

20. 우리도 열방과 같이 되어 우리 왕이 우리를 다스리며 우리 앞에 나가서 우리의 싸움을 싸워야 할 것이니이다
  Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."

21. 사무엘이 백성의 모든 말을 듣고 여호와께 고하매
  When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD.

22. 여호와께서 사무엘에게 이르시되 그들의 말을 들어 왕을 세우라 하시니 사무엘이 이스라엘 사람들에게 이르되 너희는 각기 성읍으로 돌아가라 하니라
  The LORD answered, "Listen to them and give them a king." Then Samuel said to the men of Israel, "Everyone go back to his town."

로마서 6

1. 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 은혜를 더하게 하려고 죄에 거하겠느뇨
  What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

2. 그럴 수 없느니라 죄에 대하여 죽은 우리가 어찌 그 가운데 더 살리요
  By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

3. 무릇 그리스도 예수와 합하여 세례를 받은 우리는 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례받은 줄을 알지 못하느뇨
  Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

4. 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이니라
  We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5. 만일 우리가 그의 죽으심을 본받아 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활을 본받아 연합한 자가 되리라
  If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.

6. 우리가 알거니와 우리 옛 사람이 예수와 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 것은 죄의 몸이 멸하여 다시는 우리가 죄에게 종 노릇 하지 아니하려 함이니
  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--

7. 이는 죽은 자가 죄에서 벗어나 의롭다 하심을 얻었음이니라
  because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

8. 만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살 줄을 믿노니
  Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

9. 이는 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 사셨으매 다시 죽지 아니하시고 사망이 다시 그를 주장하지 못할 줄을 앎이로라
  For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

10. 그의 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그의 살으심은 하나님께 대하여 살으심이니
  The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11. 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님을 대하여는 산 자로 여길찌어다
  In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12. 그러므로 너희는 죄로 너희 죽을 몸에 왕 노릇 하지 못하게 하여 몸의 사욕을 순종치 말고
  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

13. 또한 너희 지체를 불의의 병기로 죄에게 드리지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 산 자같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 병기로 하나님께 드리라
  Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

14. 죄가 너희를 주관치 못하리니 이는 너희가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있음이니라
  For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

15. 그런즉 어찌하리요 우리가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있으니 죄를 지으리요 그럴 수 없느니라
  What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!

16. 너희 자신을 종으로 드려 누구에게 순종하든지 그 순종함을 받는 자의 종이 되는 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 혹은 죄의 종으로 사망에 이르고 혹은 순종의 종으로 의에 이르느니라
  Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

17. 하나님께 감사하리로다 너희가 본래 죄의 종이더니 너희에게 전하여 준 바 교훈의 본을 마음으로 순종하여
  But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

18. 죄에게서 해방되어 의에게 종이 되었느니라
  You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19. 너희 육신이 연약하므로 내가 사람의 예대로 말하노니 전에 너희가 너희 지체를 부정과 불법에 드려 불법에 이른 것같이 이제는 너희 지체를 의에게 종으로 드려 거룩함에 이르라
  I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

20. 너희가 죄의 종이 되었을 때에는 의에 대하여 자유하였느니라
  When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

21. 너희가 그 때에 무슨 열매를 얻었느뇨 이제는 너희가 그 일을 부끄러워하나니 이는 그 마지막이 사망임이니라
  What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!

22. 그러나 이제는 너희가 죄에게서 해방되고 하나님께 종이 되어 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 얻었으니 이 마지막은 영생이라
  But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

23. 죄의 삯은 사망이요 하나님의 은사는 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에 있는 영생이니라
  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

예레미야 45

1. 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 제 사 년에 네리야의 아들 바룩이 예레미야의 구전대로 이 모든 말을 책에 기록하니라 때에 선지자 예레미야가 그에게 말하여 가로되
  This is what Jeremiah the prophet told Baruch son of Neriah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, after Baruch had written on a scroll the words Jeremiah was then dictating:

2. 바룩아 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 이같이 말씀하시되
  "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:

3. 네가 일찍 말하기를 슬프다 여호와께서 나의 고통에 슬픔을 더하셨으니 나는 나의 탄식으로 피곤하여 평안치 못하다 하도다 하셨고
  You said, 'Woe to me! The LORD has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.'"

4. 또 내게 이르시기를 너는 그에게 이르라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 보라 나는 나의 세운 것을 헐기도 하며 나의 심은 것을 뽑기도 하나니 온 땅에 이러하거늘
  The LORD said,"Say this to him: 'This is what the LORD says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the land.

5. 네가 너를 위하여 대사를 경영하느냐 그것을 경영하지 말라 보라 내가 모든 육체에게 재앙을 내리리라 그러나 너의 가는 모든 곳에서는 내가 너로 생명 얻기를 노략물을 얻는 것 같게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨느니라
  Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the LORD, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.'"

시편 20-21

1. 환난 날에 여호와께서 네게 응답하시고 야곱의 하나님의 이름이 너를 높이 드시며
  For the director of music. A psalm of David. May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2. 성소에서 너를 도와 주시고 시온에서 너를 붙드시며
  May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.

3. 네 모든 소제를 기억하시며 네 번제를 받으시기를 원하노라 (셀라)
  May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah

4. 네 마음의 소원대로 허락하시고 네 모든 도모를 이루시기를 원하노라
  May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

5. 우리가 너의 승리로 인하여 개가를 부르며 우리 하나님의 이름으로 우리 기를 세우리니 여호와께서 네 모든 기도를 이루시기를 원하노라
  We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

6. 여호와께서 자기에게 속한 바 기름 부음받은 자를 구원하시는 줄 이제 내가 아노니 그 오른손에 구원하는 힘으로 그 거룩한 하늘에서 저에게 응락하시리로다
  Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.

7. 혹은 병거, 혹은 말을 의지하나 우리는 여호와 우리 하나님의 이름을 자랑하리로다
  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

8. 저희는 굽어 엎드러지고 우리는 일어나 바로 서도다
  They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

9. 여호와여 구원하소서 우리가 부를 때에 왕은 응락하소서
  O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!

1. 여호와여 왕이 주의 힘을 인하여 기뻐하며 주의 구원을 인하여 크게 즐거워하리이다
  For the director of music. A psalm of David. O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give!

2. 그 마음의 소원을 주셨으며 그 입술의 구함을 거절치 아니하셨나이다 (셀라)
  You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah

3. 주의 아름다운 복으로 저를 영접하시고 정금 면류관을 그 머리에 씌우셨나이다
  You welcomed him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.

4. 저가 생명을 구하매 주께서 주셨으니 곧 영영한 장수로소이다
  He asked you for life, and you gave it to him--length of days, for ever and ever.

5. 주의 구원으로 그 영광을 크게 하시고 존귀와 위엄으로 저에게 입히시나이다
  Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.

6. 저로 영영토록 지극한 복을 받게 하시며 주의 앞에서 기쁘고 즐겁게 하시나이다
  Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

7. 왕이 여호와를 의지하오니 지극히 높으신 자의 인자함으로 요동치 아니하리이다
  For the king trusts in the LORD; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.

8. 네 손이 네 모든 원수를 발견함이여 네 오른손이 너를 미워하는 자를 발견하리로다
  Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes.

9. 네가 노할 때에 저희로 풀무 같게 할 것이라 여호와께서 진노로 저희를 삼키시리니 불이 저희를 소멸하리로다
  At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace. In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them.

10. 네가 저희 후손을 땅에서 멸함이여 저희 자손을 인생 중에서 끊으리로다
  You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind.

11. 대저 저희는 너를 해하려 하여 계교를 품었으나 이루지 못하도다
  Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed;

12. 네가 저희로 돌아서게 함이여 그 얼굴을 향하여 활시위를 당기리로다
  for you will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow.

13. 여호와여 주의 능력으로 높임을 받으소서 우리가 주의 권능을 노래하고 칭송하겠나이다
  Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.
