사무엘상 13

1. 사울이 왕이 될 때에 사십 세라 그가 이스라엘을 다스린 지 이 년에
  Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned over Israel forty- two years.

2. 이스라엘 사람 삼천을 택하여 그 중에서 이천은 자기와 함께 믹마스와 벧엘 산에 있게 하고 일천은 요나단과 함께 베냐민 기브아에 있게 하고 남은 백성은 각기 장막으로 보내니라
  Saul chose three thousand men from Israel; two thousand were with him at Micmash and in the hill country of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan at Gibeah in Benjamin. The rest of the men he sent back to their homes.

3. 요나단이 게바에 있는 블레셋 사람의 수비대를 치매 블레셋 사람이 이를 들은지라 사울이 온 땅에 나팔을 불어 이르되 히브리 사람들은 들으라 하니
  Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said, "Let the Hebrews hear!"

4. 온 이스라엘이 사울의 블레셋 사람의 수비대를 친 것과 이스라엘이 블레셋 사람의 가증히 여김이 되었다 함을 듣고 길갈로 모여 사울을 좇으니라
  So all Israel heard the news: "Saul has attacked the Philistine outpost, and now Israel has become a stench to the Philistines." And the people were summoned to join Saul at Gilgal.

5. 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘과 싸우려 하여 모였는데 병거가 삼만이요 마병이 육천이요 백성은 해변의 모래같이 많더라 그들이 올라와서 벧아웬 동편 믹마스에 진치매
  The Philistines assembled to fight Israel, with three thousand chariots, six thousand charioteers, and soldiers as numerous as the sand on the seashore. They went up and camped at Micmash, east of Beth Aven.

6. 이스라엘 사람들이 위급함을 보고 절박하여 굴과 수풀과 바위 틈과 은밀한 곳과 웅덩이에 숨으며
  When the men of Israel saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns.

7. 어떤 히브리 사람들은 요단을 건너 갓과 길르앗 땅으로 가되 사울은 아직 길갈에 있고 그를 좇은 모든 백성은 떨더라
  Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgal, and all the troops with him were quaking with fear.

8. 사울이 사무엘의 정한 기한대로 이레를 기다리되 사무엘이 길갈로 오지 아니하매 백성이 사울에게서 흩어지는지라
  He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul's men began to scatter.

9. 사울이 가로되 번제와 화목제물을 이리로 가져오라 하여 번제를 드렸더니
  So he said, "Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings." And Saul offered up the burnt offering.

10. 번제 드리기를 필하자 사무엘이 온지라 사울이 나가 맞으며 문안하매
  Just as he finished making the offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to greet him.

11. 사무엘이 가로되 왕의 행한 것이 무엇이뇨 사울이 가로되 백성은 나에게서 흩어지고 당신은 정한 날 안에 오지 아니하고 블레셋 사람은 믹마스에 모였음을 내가 보았으므로
  "What have you done?" asked Samuel. Saul replied, "When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Micmash,

12. 이에 내가 이르기를 블레셋 사람은 나를 치러 길갈로 내려오겠거늘 내가 여호와께 은혜를 간구치 못하였다 하고 부득이 하여 번제를 드렸나이다
  I thought, 'Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the LORD'S favor.' So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering."

13. 사무엘이 사울에게 이르되 왕이 망령되이 행하였도다 왕이 왕의 하나님 여호와께서 왕에게 명하신 명령을 지키지 아니하였도다 그리하였더면 여호와께서 이스라엘 위에 왕의 나라를 영영히 세우셨을 것이어늘
  "You acted foolishly," Samuel said. "You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.

14. 지금은 왕의 나라가 길지 못할 것이라 여호와께서 왕에게 명하신 바를 왕이 지키지 아니하였으므로 여호와께서 그 마음에 맞는 사람을 구하여 그 백성의 지도자를 삼으셨느니라 하고
  But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD'S command."

15. 사무엘이 일어나 길갈에서 떠나 베냐민 기브아로 올라가니라 사울이 자기와 함께한 백성을 계수하니 육백 명 가량이라
  Then Samuel left Gilgal and went up to Gibeah in Benjamin, and Saul counted the men who were with him. They numbered about six hundred.

16. 사울과 그 아들 요나단과 그들과 함께한 백성은 베냐민 게바에 있고 블레셋 사람은 믹마스에 진쳤더니
  Saul and his son Jonathan and the men with them were staying in Gibeah in Benjamin, while the Philistines camped at Micmash.

17. 노략군들이 삼대로 블레셋 사람의 진에서 나와서 한 대는 오브라 길로 말미암아 수알 땅에 이르렀고
  Raiding parties went out from the Philistine camp in three detachments. One turned toward Ophrah in the vicinity of Shual,

18. 한 대는 벧호론 길로 향하였고 한 대는 광야를 향한 스보임 골짜기가 내려다 보이는 지경 길로 향하였더라
  another toward Beth Horon, and the third toward the borderland overlooking the Valley of Zeboim facing the desert.

19. 때에 이스라엘 온 땅에 철공이 없어졌으니 이는 블레셋 사람이 말하기를 히브리 사람이 칼이나 창을 만들까 두렵다 하였음이라
  Not a blacksmith could be found in the whole land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, "Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears!"

20. 온 이스라엘 사람이 각기 보습이나 삽이나 도끼나 괭이를 벼리려면 블레셋 사람에게로 내려갔었는데
  So all Israel went down to the Philistines to have their plowshares, mattocks, axes and sickles sharpened.

21. 곧 그들이 괭이나 삽이나 쇠스랑이나 도끼나 쇠채찍이 무딜 때에 그리하였으므로
  The price was two thirds of a shekel for sharpening plowshares and mattocks, and a third of a shekel for sharpening forks and axes and for repointing goads.

22. 싸우는 날에 사울과 요나단과 함께한 백성의 손에는 칼이나 창이 없고 오직 사울과 그 아들 요나단에게만 있으니라
  So on the day of the battle not a soldier with Saul and Jonathan had a sword or spear in his hand; only Saul and his son Jonathan had them.

23. 블레셋 사람의 부대가 나와서 믹마스 어귀에 이르렀더라
  Now a detachment of Philistines had gone out to the pass at Micmash.

로마서 11

1. 그러므로 내가 말하노니 하나님이 자기 백성을 버리셨느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 나도 이스라엘인이요 아브라함의 씨에서 난 자요 베냐민 지파라
  I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

2. 하나님이 그 미리 아신 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하셨나니 너희가 성경이 엘리야를 가리켜 말한 것을 알지 못하느냐 저가 이스라엘을 하나님께 송사하되
  God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel:

3. 주여 저희가 주의 선지자들을 죽였으며 주의 제단들을 헐어버렸고 나만 남았는데 내 목숨도 찾나이다 하니
  "Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me"?

4. 저에게 하신 대답이 무엇이뇨 내가 나를 위하여 바알에게 무릎을 꿇지 아니한 사람 칠천을 남겨 두었다 하셨으니
  And what was God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

5. 그런즉 이와 같이 이제도 은혜로 택하심을 따라 남은 자가 있느니라
  So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

6. 만일 은혜로 된 것이면 행위로 말미암지 않음이니 그렇지 않으면 은혜가 은혜되지 못하느니라
  And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.

7. 그런즉 어떠하뇨 이스라엘이 구하는 그것을 얻지 못하고 오직 택하심을 입은 자가 얻었고 그 남은 자들은 완악하여졌느니라
  What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened,

8. 기록된 바 하나님이 오늘날까지 저희에게 혼미한 심령과 보지 못할 눈과 듣지 못할 귀를 주셨다 함과 같으니라
  as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."

9. 또 다윗이 가로되 저희 밥상이 올무와 덫과 거치는 것과 보응이 되게 하옵시고
  And David says: "May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.

10. 저희 눈은 흐려 보지 못하고 저희 등은 항상 굽게 하옵소서 하였느니라
  May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever."

11. 그러므로 내가 말하노니 저희가 넘어지기까지 실족하였느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 저희의 넘어짐으로 구원이 이방인에게 이르러 이스라엘로 시기나게 함이니라
  Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.

12. 저희의 넘어짐이 세상의 부요함이 되며 저희의 실패가 이방인의 부요함이 되거든 하물며 저희의 충만함이리요
  But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!

13. 내가 이방인인 너희에게 말하노라 내가 이방인의 사도인 만큼 내 직분을 영광스럽게 여기노니
  I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry

14. 이는 곧 내 골육을 아무쪼록 시기케 하여 저희 중에서 얼마를 구원하려 함이라
  in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.

15. 저희를 버리는 것이 세상의 화목이 되거든 그 받아들이는 것이 죽은 자 가운데서 사는 것이 아니면 무엇이리요
  For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16. 제사하는 처음 익은 곡식 가루가 거룩한즉 떡덩이도 그러하고 뿌리가 거룩한즉 가지도 그러하니라
  If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17. 또한 가지 얼마가 꺾여졌는데 돌감람나무인 네가 그들 중에 접붙임이 되어 참감람나무 뿌리의 진액을 함께 받는 자 되었은즉
  If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,

18. 그 가지들을 향하여 자긍하지 말라 자긍할찌라도 네가 뿌리를 보전하는 것이 아니요 뿌리가 너를 보전하는 것이니라
  do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19. 그러면 네 말이 가지들이 꺾이운 것은 나로 접붙임을 받게 하려 함이라 하리니
  You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."

20. 옳도다 저희는 믿지 아니하므로 꺾이우고 너는 믿으므로 섰느니라 높은 마음을 품지 말고 도리어 두려워하라
  Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.

21. 하나님이 원 가지들도 아끼지 아니하셨은즉 너도 아끼지 아니하시리라
  For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

22. 그러므로 하나님의 인자와 엄위를 보라 넘어지는 자들에게는 엄위가 있으니 너희가 만일 하나님의 인자에 거하면 그 인자가 너희에게 있으리라 그렇지 않으면 너도 찍히는 바 되리라
  Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

23. 저희도 믿지 아니하는 데 거하지 아니하면 접붙임을 얻으리니 이는 저희를 접붙이실 능력이 하나님께 있음이라
  And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

24. 네가 원 돌감람나무에서 찍힘을 받고 본성을 거스려 좋은 감람나무에 접붙임을 얻었은즉 원 가지인 이 사람들이야 얼마나 더 자기 감람나무에 접붙이심을 얻으랴
  After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

25. 형제들아 너희가 스스로 지혜 있다 함을 면키 위하여 이 비밀을 너희가 모르기를 내가 원치 아니하노니 이 비밀은 이방인의 충만한 수가 들어오기까지 이스라엘의 더러는 완악하게 된 것이라
  I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

26. 그리하여 온 이스라엘이 구원을 얻으리라 기록된 바 구원자가 시온에서 오사 야곱에게서 경건치 않은 것을 돌이키시겠고
  And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

27. 내가 저희 죄를 없이 할 때에 저희에게 이루어질 내 언약이 이것이라 함과 같으니라
  And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."

28. 복음으로 하면 저희가 너희를 인하여 원수 된 자요 택하심으로 하면 조상들을 인하여 사랑을 입은 자라
  As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,

29. 하나님의 은사와 부르심에는 후회하심이 없느니라
  for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

30. 너희가 전에 하나님께 순종치 아니하더니 이스라엘의 순종치 아니함으로 이제 긍휼을 입었는지라
  Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,

31. 이와 같이 이 사람들이 순종치 아니하니 이는 너희에게 베푸시는 긍휼로 이제 저희도 긍휼을 얻게 하려 하심이니라
  so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.

32. 하나님이 모든 사람을 순종치 아니하는 가운데 가두어 두심은 모든 사람에게 긍휼을 베풀려 하심이로다
  For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

33. 깊도다 하나님의 지혜와 지식의 부요함이여, 그의 판단은 측량치 못할 것이며 그의 길은 찾지 못할 것이로다
  Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

34. 누가 주의 마음을 알았느뇨 누가 그의 모사가 되었느뇨
  "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?"

35. 누가 주께 먼저 드려서 갚으심을 받겠느뇨
  "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?"

36. 이는 만물이 주에게서 나오고 주로 말미암고 주에게로 돌아감이라 영광이 그에게 세세에 있으리로다 아멘
  For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

예레미야 50

1. 여호와께서 선지자 예레미야로 바벨론과 갈대아인의 땅에 대하여 하신 말씀이라
  This is the word the LORD spoke through Jeremiah the prophet concerning Babylon and the land of the Babylonians:

2. 너희는 열방 중에 광고하라 공포하라 기를 세우라 숨김이 없이 공포하여 이르라 바벨론이 함락되고 벨이 수치를 당하며 므로닥이 부스러지며 그 신상들은 수치를 당하며 우상들은 부스러진다 하라
  "Announce and proclaim among the nations, lift up a banner and proclaim it; keep nothing back, but say, 'Babylon will be captured; Bel will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror. Her images will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror.'

3. 이는 한 나라가 북방에서 나와서 그를 쳐서 그 땅으로 황폐케 하여 그 중에 거하는 자가 없게 함이라 사람이나 짐승이 다 도망하여 가느니라
  A nation from the north will attack her and lay waste her land. No one will live in it; both men and animals will flee away.

4. 나 여호와가 말하노라 그 날 그 때에 이스라엘 자손이 돌아오며 그와 함께 유다 자손이 돌아오되 그들이 울며 그 길을 행하며 그 하나님 여호와께 구할 것이며
  "In those days, at that time," declares the LORD, "the people of Israel and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the LORD their God.

5. 그들이 그 얼굴을 시온으로 향하여 그 길을 물으며 말하기를 너희는 오라 잊어버리지 아니할 영영한 언약으로 여호와와 연합하자 하리라
  They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

6. 내 백성은 잃어버린 양 떼로다 그 목자들이 그들을 곁길로 가게 하여 산으로 돌이키게 하였으므로 그들이 산에서 작은 산으로 돌아다니며 쉴 곳을 잊었도다
  "My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have led them astray and caused them to roam on the mountains. They wandered over mountain and hill and forgot their own resting place.

7. 그들을 만나는 자들은 그들을 삼키며 그 대적은 말하기를 그들은 여호와 곧 의로운 처소시며 그 열조의 소망이신 여호와께 범죄하였음인즉 우리는 무죄하다 하였느니라
  Whoever found them devoured them; their enemies said, 'We are not guilty, for they sinned against the LORD, their true pasture, the LORD, the hope of their fathers.'

8. 너희는 바벨론 가운데서 도망하라 갈대아인의 땅에서 나오라 떼에 앞서가는 수염소 같이 하라
  "Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock.

9. 보라 내가 큰 연합국으로 북방에서 일어나 나와서 바벨론을 치게 하리니 그들이 항오를 벌이고 쳐서 취할 것이라 그들의 화살은 연숙한 용사의 화살 같아서 헛되이 돌아오지 아니하리로다
  For I will stir up and bring against Babylon an alliance of great nations from the land of the north. They will take up their positions against her, and from the north she will be captured. Their arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed.

10. 갈대아가 약탈을 당할 것이라 그를 약탈하는 자마다 만족하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  So Babylonia will be plundered; all who plunder her will have their fill," declares the LORD.

11. 나의 산업을 노략하는 자여 너희가 즐거워하며 기뻐하며 곡식을 가는 송아지같이 뛰며 힘센 말같이 울도다
  "Because you rejoice and are glad, you who pillage my inheritance, because you frolic like a heifer threshing grain and neigh like stallions,

12. 그러므로 너희의 어미가 온전히 수치를 당하리라 너희를 낳은 자가 치욕을 당하리라 보라 그가 열방의 말째와 광야와 마른 땅과 사막이 될 것이며
  your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations--a wilderness, a dry land, a desert.

13. 여호와의 진노로 인하여 거민이 없는 온전한 황무지가 될 것이라 바벨론으로 지나는 자마다 그 모든 재앙을 놀라며 비웃으리로다
  Because of the LORD'S anger she will not be inhabited but will be completely desolate. All who pass Babylon will be horrified and scoff because of all her wounds.

14. 바벨론을 둘러 항오를 벌이고 활을 당기는 모든 자여 화살을 아끼지 말고 쏘라 그가 여호와께 범죄하였음이니라
  "Take up your positions around Babylon, all you who draw the bow. Shoot at her! Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the LORD.

15. 그 사면에서 소리질러 칠찌어다 그가 항복하였고 그 보장은 무너졌고 그 성벽은 훼파되었으니 이는 여호와의 보수하시는 것이라 그의 행한대로 그에게 행하여 보수하라
  Shout against her on every side! She surrenders, her towers fall, her walls are torn down. Since this is the vengeance of the LORD, take vengeance on her; do to her as she has done to others.

16. 파종하는 자와 추수 때에 낫을 잡은 자를 바벨론에서 끊어버리라 사람들이 그 압박하는 칼을 두려워하여 각기 동족에게로 돌아가며 고향으로 도망하리라
  Cut off from Babylon the sower, and the reaper with his sickle at harvest. Because of the sword of the oppressor let everyone return to his own people, let everyone flee to his own land.

17. 이스라엘은 흩어진 양이라 사자들이 그를 따르도다 처음에는 앗수르 왕이 먹었고 다음에는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 그 뼈를 꺾도다
  "Israel is a scattered flock that lions have chased away. The first to devour him was the king of Assyria; the last to crush his bones was Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon."

18. 그러므로 나 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라 보라 내가 앗수르 왕을 벌한 것같이 바벨론 왕과 그 땅을 벌하고
  Therefore this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "I will punish the king of Babylon and his land as I punished the king of Assyria.

19. 이스라엘을 다시 그 목장으로 돌아오게 하리니 그가 갈멜과 바산에서 먹을 것이며 그 마음이 에브라임과 길르앗 산에서 만족하리라
  But I will bring Israel back to his own pasture and he will graze on Carmel and Bashan; his appetite will be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.

20. 나 여호와가 말하노라 그 날 그 때에는 이스라엘의 죄악을 찾을찌라도 없겠고 유다의 죄를 찾을찌라도 발견치 못하리니 이는 내가 나의 남긴 자를 사할 것임이니라
  In those days, at that time," declares the LORD, "search will be made for Israel's guilt, but there will be none, and for the sins of Judah, but none will be found, for I will forgive the remnant I spare.

21. 나 여호와가 말하노라 너희는 올라가서 므라다임의 땅을 치며 브곳의 거민을 쳐서 진멸하되 내가 너희에게 명한 대로 다하라
  "Attack the land of Merathaim and those who live in Pekod. Pursue, kill and completely destroy them," declares the LORD. "Do everything I have commanded you.

22. 그 땅에 싸움의 소리와 큰 파멸의 소리가 있으리라
  The noise of battle is in the land, the noise of great destruction!

23. 온 세계의 방망이가 어찌 그리 꺾여 부숴졌는고 바벨론이 어찌 그리 열방 중에 황무지가 되었는고
  How broken and shattered is the hammer of the whole earth! How desolate is Babylon among the nations!

24. 바벨론아 내가 너를 잡으려고 올무를 놓았더니 네가 깨닫지 못하고 걸렸고 네가 나 여호와와 다투었으므로 만난 바 되어 잡혔도다
  I set a trap for you, O Babylon, and you were caught before you knew it; you were found and captured because you opposed the LORD.

25. 나 여호와가 그 병고를 열고 분노의 병기를 냄은 주 만군의 여호와 내가 갈대아인의 땅에 행할 일이 있음이라
  The LORD has opened his arsenal and brought out the weapons of his wrath, for the Sovereign LORD Almighty has work to do in the land of the Babylonians.

26. 먼 데 있는 너희는 와서 그를 치고 그 곳간을 열고 그것을 쌓아 무더기 같게 하라 그를 진멸하고 남기지 말라
  Come against her from afar. Break open her granaries; pile her up like heaps of grain. Completely destroy her and leave her no remnant.

27. 그 황소를 다 죽이라 도수장으로 내려가게 하라 그들에게 화 있도다 그들의 날, 그 벌받는 때가 이르렀음이로다
  Kill all her young bulls; let them go down to the slaughter! Woe to them! For their day has come, the time for them to be punished.

28. 바벨론 땅에서 도피한 자의 소리여 시온에서 우리 하나님 여호와의 보수하시는 것, 그 성전의 보수하시는 것을 선포하는 소리로다
  Listen to the fugitives and refugees from Babylon declaring in Zion how the LORD our God has taken vengeance, vengeance for his temple.

29. 활 쏘는 자를 바벨론에 소집하라 무릇 활을 당기는 자여 그 사면으로 진을 치고 쳐서 피하는 자가 없게 하라 그 일한 대로 갚고 그 행한 대로 그에게 행하라 그가 이스라엘의 거룩한 자 여호와를 향하여 교만하였음이니라
  "Summon archers against Babylon, all those who draw the bow. Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her for her deeds; do to her as she has done. For she has defied the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.

30. 그러므로 그 날에 청년들이 그 거리에 엎드러지겠고 군사들이 멸절되리라 여호와의 말이니라
  Therefore, her young men will fall in the streets; all her soldiers will be silenced in that day," declares the LORD.

31. 주 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 교만한 자여 보라 내가 너를 대적하나니 네 날 곧 너를 벌할 때가 이르렀음이라
  "See, I am against you, O arrogant one," declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty, "for your day has come, the time for you to be punished.

32. 교만한 자가 걸려 넘어지겠고 그를 일으킬 자가 없을 것이며 내가 그 성읍들에 불을 놓으리니 그 사면에 있는 것이 다 살라지리라
  The arrogant one will stumble and fall and no one will help her up; I will kindle a fire in her towns that will consume all who are around her."

33. 나 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 이스라엘 자손과 유다 자손이 함께 학대를 받는도다 그들을 사로잡은 자는 다 그들을 엄히 지켜 놓아 주지 아니하거니와
  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "The people of Israel are oppressed, and the people of Judah as well. All their captors hold them fast, refusing to let them go.

34. 그들의 구속자는 강하니 그 이름은 만군의 여호와라 결코 그들의 원을 펴서 그 땅에 평안함을 주고 바벨론 거민으로 불안케 하리라
  Yet their Redeemer is strong; the LORD Almighty is his name. He will vigorously defend their cause so that he may bring rest to their land, but unrest to those who live in Babylon.

35. 나 여호와가 말하노라 칼이 갈대아인의 위에와 바벨론 거민의 위에와 그 방백들과 지혜로운 자의 위에 임하며
  "A sword against the Babylonians!" declares the LORD--"against those who live in Babylon and against her officials and wise men!

36. 칼이 자긍하는 자의 위에 임하리니 그들이 어리석게 될 것이며 칼이 용사의 위에 임하리니 그들이 놀랄 것이며
  A sword against her false prophets! They will become fools. A sword against her warriors! They will be filled with terror.

37. 칼이 그들의 말들과 병거들과 그들 중에 있는 잡족의 위에 임하리니 그들이 부녀같이 될 것이며 칼이 보물 위에 임하리니 그것이 노략될 것이요
  A sword against her horses and chariots and all the foreigners in her ranks! They will become women. A sword against her treasures! They will be plundered.

38. 가뭄이 물 위에 임하여 그것을 말리우리니 이는 그 땅이 조각한 신상의 땅이요 그들은 우상에 미쳤음이니라
  A drought on her waters! They will dry up. For it is a land of idols, idols that will go mad with terror.

39. 그러므로 사막의 들짐승이 시랑과 함께 거기 거하겠고 타조도 그 중에 깃들일 것이요 영영히 거민이 없으며 대대에 거할 자가 없으리라
  "So desert creatures and hyenas will live there, and there the owl will dwell. It will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation.

40. 나 여호와가 말하노라 나 하나님이 소돔과 고모라와 그 이웃 성읍들을 무너지게 한 것같이 거기 거하는 사람이 없게 하며 그 중에 우거하는 아무 인자가 없게 하리라
  As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns," declares the LORD, "so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.

41. 보라 한 족속이 북방에서 오고 큰 나라와 여러 왕이 격동을 받아 땅 끝에서 오나니
  "Look! An army is coming from the north; a great nation and many kings are being stirred up from the ends of the earth.

42. 그들은 활과 창을 가진 자라 잔인하여 긍휼히 여기지 아니하며 그 목소리는 파도가 흉용함 같도다 딸 바벨론아 그들이 말을 타고 무사같이 각기 항오를 벌여 너를 칠 것이라
  They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their horses; they come like men in battle formation to attack you, O Daughter of Babylon.

43. 바벨론 왕이 그 소문을 듣고 손이 약하여지며 고통에 잡혀 해산하는 여인의 구로함 같도다
  The king of Babylon has heard reports about them, and his hands hang limp. Anguish has gripped him, pain like that of a woman in labor.

44. 보라 사자가 요단의 수풀에서 올라오는 것같이 그가 와서 견고한 처소를 칠 것이라 내가 즉시 그들을 거기서 쫓아내고 택한 자를 내가 그 위에 세우리니 나와 같은 자 누구며 나로 더불어 다툴 자 누구며 내 앞에 설 목자가 누구뇨
  Like a lion coming up from Jordan's thickets to a rich pastureland, I will chase Babylon from its land in an instant. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can stand against me?"

45. 그런즉 바벨론에 대한 나 여호와의 도모와 갈대아인의 땅에 대하여 경영한 나 여호와의 뜻을 들으라 양 떼의 어린것들을 그들이 반드시 끌어가고 그 처소로 황무케 하리니
  Therefore, hear what the LORD has planned against Babylon, what he has purposed against the land of the Babylonians: The young of the flock will be dragged away; he will completely destroy their pasture because of them.

46. 바벨론의 함락하는 소리에 땅이 진동하며 그 부르짖음이 열방 중에 들리리라 하시도다
  At the sound of Babylon's capture the earth will tremble; its cry will resound among the nations.

시편 28-29

1. 여호와여 내가 주께 부르짖으오니 나의 반석이여 내게 귀를 막지 마소서 주께서 내게 잠잠하시면 내가 무덤에 내려가는 자와 같을까 하나이다
  Of David. To you I call, O LORD my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit.

2. 내가 주의 성소를 향하여 나의 손을 들고 주께 부르짖을 때에 나의 간구하는 소리를 들으소서
  Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

3. 악인과 행악하는 자와 함께 나를 끌지 마옵소서 저희는 그 이웃에게 화평을 말하나 그 마음에는 악독이 있나이다
  Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.

4. 저희의 행사와 그 행위의 악한 대로 갚으시며 저희 손의 지은 대로 갚아 그 마땅히 받을 것으로 보응하소서
  Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back upon them what they deserve.

5. 저희는 여호와의 행하신 일과 손으로 지으신 것을 생각지 아니하므로 여호와께서 저희를 파괴하고 건설치 아니하시리로다
  Since they show no regard for the works of the LORD and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again.

6. 여호와를 찬송함이여 내 간구하는 소리를 들으심이로다
  Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.

7. 여호와는 나의 힘과 나의 방패시니 내 마음이 저를 의지하여 도움을 얻었도다 그러므로 내 마음이 크게 기뻐하며 내 노래로 저를 찬송하리로다
  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

8. 여호와는 저희의 힘이시요 그 기름 부음받은 자의 구원의 산성이시로다
  The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

9. 주의 백성을 구원하시며 주의 산업에 복을 주시고 또 저희의 목자가 되사 영원토록 드십소서
  Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

1. 너희 권능 있는 자들아 영광과 능력을 여호와께 돌리고 돌릴찌어다
  A psalm of David. Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

2. 여호와의 이름에 합당한 영광을 돌리며 거룩한 옷을 입고 여호와께 경배할찌어다
  Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

3. 여호와의 소리가 물 위에 있도다 영광의 하나님이 뇌성을 발하시니 여호와는 많은 물 위에 계시도다
  The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.

4. 여호와의 소리가 힘있음이여 여호와의 소리가 위엄차도다
  The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

5. 여호와의 소리가 백향목을 꺾으심이여 여호와께서 레바논 백향목을 꺾어 부수시도다
  The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6. 그 나무를 송아지같이 뛰게 하심이여 레바논과 시룐으로 들송아지같이 뛰게 하시도다
  He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.

7. 여호와의 소리가 화염을 가르시도다
  The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.

8. 여호와의 소리가 광야를 진동하심이여 여호와께서 가데스 광야를 진동하시도다
  The voice of the LORD shakes the desert; the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

9. 여호와의 소리가 암사슴으로 낙태케 하시고 삼림을 말갛게 벗기시니 그 전에서 모든 것이 말하기를 영광이라 하도다
  The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

10. 여호와께서 홍수 때에 좌정하셨음이여 여호와께서 영영토록 왕으로 좌정하시도다
  The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.

11. 여호와께서 자기 백성에게 힘을 주심이여 여호와께서 자기 백성에게 평강의 복을 주시리로다
  The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.
