사무엘상 12

1. 사무엘이 온 이스라엘에게 이르되 보라 너희가 내게 한 말을 내가 다 듣고 너희 위에 왕을 세웠더니
  Samuel said to all Israel, "I have listened to everything you said to me and have set a king over you.

2. 이제 왕이 너희 앞에 출입하느니라 보라 나는 늙어 머리가 희었고 내 아들들도 너희와 함께 있느니라 내가 어려서부터 오늘날까지 너희 앞에 출입하였거니와
  Now you have a king as your leader. As for me, I am old and gray, and my sons are here with you. I have been your leader from my youth until this day.

3. 내가 여기 있나니 여호와 앞과 그 기름 부음을 받은 자 앞에서 내게 대하여 증거하라 내가 뉘 소를 취하였느냐 뉘 나귀를 취하였느냐 누구를 속였느냐 누구를 압제하였느냐 내 눈을 흐리게 하는 뇌물을 뉘 손에서 취하였느냐 그리하였으면 내가 그것을 너희에게 갚으리라
  Here I stand. Testify against me in the presence of the LORD and his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed? From whose hand have I accepted a bribe to make me shut my eyes? If I have done any of these, I will make it right."

4. 그들이 가로되 당신이 우리를 속이지 아니하였고 압제하지 아니하였고 뉘 손에서 아무것도 취한 것이 없나이다
  "You have not cheated or oppressed us," they replied. "You have not taken anything from anyone's hand."

5. 사무엘이 백성에게 이르되 너희가 내 손에서 아무것도 찾아낸 것이 없음을 여호와께서 너희에게 대하여 증거하시며 그 기름 부음을 받은 자도 오늘날 증거하느니라 그들이 가로되 그가 증거하시나이다
  Samuel said to them, "The LORD is witness against you, and also his anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand." "He is witness," they said.

6. 사무엘이 백성에게 이르되 모세와 아론을 세우시며 너희 열조를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 이는 여호와시니
  Then Samuel said to the people, "It is the LORD who appointed Moses and Aaron and brought your forefathers up out of Egypt.

7. 그런즉 가만히 섰으라 여호와께서 너희와 너희 열조에게 행하신 모든 의로운 일에 대하여 내가 여호와 앞에서 너희와 담론하리라
  Now then, stand here, because I am going to confront you with evidence before the LORD as to all the righteous acts performed by the LORD for you and your fathers.

8. 야곱이 애굽에 들어간 후 너희 열조가 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 모세와 아론을 보내사 그 두 사람으로 너희 열조를 애굽에서 인도하여 내어 이 곳에 거하게 하셨으나
  "After Jacob entered Egypt, they cried to the LORD for help, and the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your forefathers out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

9. 그들이 그 하나님 여호와를 잊은지라 여호와께서 그들을 하솔 군장 시스라의 손과 블레셋 사람의 손과 모압 왕의 손에 붙이셨더니 그들이 치매
  "But they forgot the LORD their God; so he sold them into the hand of Sisera, the commander of the army of Hazor, and into the hands of the Philistines and the king of Moab, who fought against them.

10. 백성이 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 우리가 여호와를 버리고 바알들과 아스다롯을 섬기므로 범죄하였나이다 그러하오나 이제 우리를 원수들의 손에서 건져내소서 그리하시면 우리가 주를 섬기겠나이다 하매
  They cried out to the LORD and said, 'We have sinned; we have forsaken the LORD and served the Baals and the Ashtoreths. But now deliver us from the hands of our enemies, and we will serve you.'

11. 여호와께서 여룹바알과 베단과 입다와 나 사무엘을 보내사 너희를 너희 사방 원수의 손에서 건져내사 너희로 안전히 거하게 하셨거늘
  Then the LORD sent Jerub-Baal, Barak, Jephthah and Samuel, and he delivered you from the hands of your enemies on every side, so that you lived securely.

12. 너희가 암몬 자손의 왕 나하스의 너희를 치러 옴을 보고 너희 하나님 여호와께서는 너희의 왕이 되실찌라도 너희가 내게 이르기를 아니라 우리를 다스릴 왕이 있어야 하겠다 하였도다
  "But when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites was moving against you, you said to me, 'No, we want a king to rule over us'--even though the LORD your God was your king.

13. 이제 너희의 구한 왕, 너희의 택한 왕을 보라 여호와께서 너희 위에 왕을 세우셨느니라
  Now here is the king you have chosen, the one you asked for; see, the LORD has set a king over you.

14. 너희가 만일 여호와를 경외하여 그를 섬기며 그 목소리를 듣고 여호와의 명령을 거역하지 아니하며 또 너희와 너희를 다스리는 왕이 너희 하나님 여호와를 좇으면 좋으니라마는
  If you fear the LORD and serve and obey him and do not rebel against his commands, and if both you and the king who reigns over you follow the LORD your God--good!

15. 너희가 만일 여호와의 목소리를 듣지 아니하고 여호와의 명령을 거역하면 여호와의 손이 너희의 열조를 치신 것같이 너희를 치실 것이라
  But if you do not obey the LORD, and if you rebel against his commands, his hand will be against you, as it was against your fathers.

16. 너희는 이제 가만히 서서 여호와께서 너희 목전에 행하시는 이 큰 일을 보라
  "Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes!

17. 오늘은 밀 베는 때가 아니냐 내가 여호와께 아뢰리니 여호와께서 우뢰와 비를 보내사 너희가 왕을 구한 일 곧 여호와의 목전에 범한 죄악이 큼을 너희로 밝히 알게 하시리라
  Is it not wheat harvest now? I will call upon the LORD to send thunder and rain. And you will realize what an evil thing you did in the eyes of the LORD when you asked for a king."

18. 이에 사무엘이 여호와께 아뢰매 여호와께서 그 날에 우뢰와 비를 보내시니 모든 백성이 여호와와 사무엘을 크게 두려워하니라
  Then Samuel called upon the LORD, and that same day the LORD sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe of the LORD and of Samuel.

19. 모든 백성이 사무엘에게 이르되 당신의 종들을 위하여 당신의 하나님 여호와께 기도하여 우리로 죽지 않게 하소서 우리가 우리의 모든 죄에 왕을 구하는 악을 더하였나이다
  The people all said to Samuel, "Pray to the LORD your God for your servants so that we will not die, for we have added to all our other sins the evil of asking for a king."

20. 사무엘이 백성에게 이르되 두려워 말라 너희가 과연 이 모든 악을 행하였으나 여호와를 좇는 데서 돌이키지 말고 오직 너희 마음을 다하여 여호와를 섬기라
  "Do not be afraid," Samuel replied. "You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.

21. 돌이켜 유익하게도 못하며 구원하지도 못하는 헛된 것을 좇지 말라 그들은 헛되니라
  Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.

22. 여호와께서는 너희로 자기 백성 삼으신 것을 기뻐하신 고로 그 크신 이름을 인하여 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하실 것이요
  For the sake of his great name the LORD will not reject his people, because the LORD was pleased to make you his own.

23. 나는 너희를 위하여 기도하기를 쉬는 죄를 여호와 앞에 결단코 범치 아니하고 선하고 의로운 도로 너희를 가르칠 것인즉
  As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right.

24. 너희는 여호와께서 너희를 위하여 행하신 그 큰 일을 생각하여 오직 그를 경외하며 너희의 마음을 다하여 진실히 섬기라
  But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

25. 만일 너희가 여전히 악을 행하면 너희와 너희 왕이 다 멸망하리라
  Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will be swept away."

로마서 10

1. 형제들아 내 마음에 원하는 바와 하나님께 구하는 바는 이스라엘을 위함이니 곧 저희로 구원을 얻게 함이라
  Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

2. 내가 증거하노니 저희가 하나님께 열심이 있으나 지식을 좇은 것이 아니라
  For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

3. 하나님의 의를 모르고 자기 의를 세우려고 힘써 하나님의 의를 복종치 아니하였느니라
  Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

4. 그리스도는 모든 믿는 자에게 의를 이루기 위하여 율법의 마침이 되시니라
  Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5. 모세가 기록하되 율법으로 말미암는 의를 행하는 사람은 그 의로 살리라 하였거니와
  Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."

6. 믿음으로 말미암는 의는 이같이 말하되 네 마음에 누가 하늘에 올라가겠느냐 하지 말라 하니 올라가겠느냐 함은 그리스도를 모셔 내리려는 것이요
  But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down)

7. 혹 누가 음부에 내려가겠느냐 하지 말라 하니 내려가겠느냐 함은 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 모셔 올리려는 것이라
  "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

8. 그러면 무엇을 말하느뇨 말씀이 네게 가까와 네 입에 있으며 네 마음에 있다 하였으니 곧 우리가 전파하는 믿음의 말씀이라
  But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:

9. 네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 얻으리니
  That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10. 사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라
  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

11. 성경에 이르되 누구든지 저를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당하지 아니하리라 하니
  As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

12. 유대인이나 헬라인이나 차별이 없음이라 한 주께서 모든 사람의 주가 되사 저를 부르는 모든 사람에게 부요하시도다
  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

13. 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 얻으리라
  for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

14. 그런즉 저희가 믿지 아니하는 이를 어찌 부르리요 듣지도 못한 이를 어찌 믿으리요 전파하는 자가 없이 어찌 들으리요
  How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

15. 보내심을 받지 아니하였으면 어찌 전파하리요 기록된 바 아름답도다 좋은 소식을 전하는 자들의 발이여 함과 같으니라
  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

16. 그러나 저희가 다 복음을 순종치 아니하였도다 이사야가 가로되 주여 우리의 전하는 바를 누가 믿었나이까 하였으니
  But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"

17. 그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 말미암았느니라
  Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

18. 그러나 내가 말하노니 저희가 듣지 아니하였느뇨 그렇지 아니하다 그 소리가 온 땅에 퍼졌고 그 말씀이 땅 끝까지 이르렀도다 하였느니라
  But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: "Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."

19. 그러나 내가 말하노니 이스라엘이 알지 못하였느뇨 먼저 모세가 이르되 내가 백성 아닌 자로써 너희를 시기나게 하며 미련한 백성으로써 너희를 노엽게 하리라 하였고
  Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, "I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding."

20. 또한 이사야가 매우 담대하여 이르되 내가 구하지 아니하는 자들에게 찾은 바 되고 내게 문의하지 아니하는 자들에게 나타났노라 하였고
  And Isaiah boldly says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me."

21. 이스라엘을 대하여 가라사대 순종치 아니하고 거스려 말하는 백성에게 내가 종일 내 손을 벌렸노라 하셨느니라
  But concerning Israel he says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and obstinate people."

예레미야 49

1. 암몬 자손에 대한 말씀이라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 이스라엘이 무자하냐 상속자가 없느냐 말감이 갓을 점령하며 그 백성이 그 성읍들에 거함은 어찜이뇨
  Concerning the Ammonites: This is what the LORD says: "Has Israel no sons? Has she no heirs? Why then has Molech taken possession of Gad? Why do his people live in its towns?

2. 그러므로 나 여호와가 말하노라 보라 날이 이르리니 내가 전쟁 소리로 암몬 자손의 랍바에 들리게 할 것이라 랍바는 거친 무더기가 되겠고 그 촌락들은 불에 탈 것이며 그 때에 이스라엘은 자기를 점령하였던 자를 점령하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  But the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will sound the battle cry against Rabbah of the Ammonites; it will become a mound of ruins, and its surrounding villages will be set on fire. Then Israel will drive out those who drove her out," says the LORD.

3. 헤스본아 애곡할지어다 아이가 황폐하였도다 너희 랍바의 딸들아 부르짖을지어다 굵은 베를 감고 애통하며 울타리 가운데서 앞뒤로 달릴지어다 말감과 그 제사장들과 그 방백들이 다 사로잡혀 가리로다
  "Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is destroyed! Cry out, O inhabitants of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth and mourn; rush here and there inside the walls, for Molech will go into exile, together with his priests and officials.

4. 타락한 딸아 어찌하여 골짜기 곧 네 흐르는 골짜기로 자랑하느냐 네가 어찌하여 재물을 의뢰하여 말하기를 누가 내게 오리요 하느냐
  Why do you boast of your valleys, boast of your valleys so fruitful? O unfaithful daughter, you trust in your riches and say, 'Who will attack me?'

5. 주 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 보라 내가 두려움을 네 사방에서 네게 오게 하리니 너희 각 사람이 쫓겨서 바로 나갈 것이요 도망하는 자들을 모을 자가 없으리라
  I will bring terror on you from all those around you," declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty. "Every one of you will be driven away, and no one will gather the fugitives.

6. 그러나 그 후에 내가 암몬 자손의 포로로 돌아오게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라 하시니라
  "Yet afterward, I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites," declares the LORD.

7. 에돔에 대한 말씀이라 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 데만에 다시는 지혜가 없게 되었느냐 명철한 자에게 모략이 끊어졌느냐 그들의 지혜가 없어졌느냐
  Concerning Edom: This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?

8. 드단 거민아 돌이켜 도망할지어다 깊은 데 숨을지어다 내가 에서의 재난을 그에게 임하게 하여 그를 벌할 때가 이르게 하리로다
  Turn and flee, hide in deep caves, you who live in Dedan, for I will bring disaster on Esau at the time I punish him.

9. 포도를 거두는 자들이 네게 이르면 약간의 열매도 남기지 아니하겠고 밤에 도적이 오면 그 욕심이 차기까지 멸하느니라
  If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes? If thieves came during the night, would they not steal only as much as they wanted?

10. 대저 내가 에서로 적신이 되게 하여 그 비밀한 곳들이 드러나게 하였나니 그가 그 몸을 숨길 수 없을 것이라 그 자손과 형제와 이웃이 멸망하였은즉 그가 없어졌느니라
  But I will strip Esau bare; I will uncover his hiding places, so that he cannot conceal himself. His children, relatives and neighbors will perish, and he will be no more.

11. 네 고아들을 남겨 두라 내가 그들을 살려 두리라 네 과부들은 나를 의지할 것이니라
  Leave your orphans; I will protect their lives. Your widows too can trust in me."

12. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 보라 이 잔을 마시지 않을 자도 마시지 않지 못하겠거늘 네가 형벌을 온전히 면하겠느냐 면하지 못하고 반드시 마시리라
  This is what the LORD says: "If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, why should you go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, but must drink it.

13. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 나로 맹세하노니 보스라가 놀램과 수욕거리와 황폐함과 저줏거리가 될 것이요 그 모든 성읍이 영영히 황폐하리라
  I swear by myself," declares the LORD, "that Bozrah will become a ruin and an object of horror, of reproach and of cursing; and all its towns will be in ruins forever."

14. 내가 여호와에게서부터 오는 소식을 들었노라 사자를 열방 중에 보내어 이르시되 너희는 모여와서 그를 치며 일어나서 싸우라 하시도다
  I have heard a message from the LORD: An envoy was sent to the nations to say, "Assemble yourselves to attack it! Rise up for battle!"

15. 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 너를 열방 중에 작게 하였고 사람들 중에 멸시를 받게 하였느니라
  "Now I will make you small among the nations, despised among men.

16. 바위 틈에 거하며 산꼭대기를 점령한 자여 스스로 두려운 자인줄로 여김과 네 마음의 교만이 너를 속였도다 네가 독수리 같이 보금자리를 높이 지었을찌라도 내가 거기서 너를 끌어내리리라 여호와의 말이니라
  The terror you inspire and the pride of your heart have deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks, who occupy the heights of the hill. Though you build your nest as high as the eagle's, from there I will bring you down," declares the LORD.

17. 에돔이 놀라운 것이 되리니 그리로 지나는 자마다 놀라며 그 모든 재앙을 인하여 비웃으리로다
  "Edom will become an object of horror; all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff because of all its wounds.

18. 나 여호와가 말하노라 소돔과 고모라와 그 이웃 성읍들의 멸망된 것같이 거기 거하는 사람이 없으며 그 중에 우거할 아무 인자가 없으리라
  As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, along with their neighboring towns," says the LORD, "so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it.

19. 보라 사자가 요단의 수풀에서 올라오는 것같이 그가 와서 견고한 처소를 칠 것이라 내가 즉시 그들을 거기서 쫓아내고 택한 자를 내가 그 위에 세우리니 나와 같은 자 누구며 나로 더불어 다툴 자 누구며 내 앞에 설 목자가 누구뇨
  "Like a lion coming up from Jordan's thickets to a rich pastureland, I will chase Edom from its land in an instant. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can stand against me?"

20. 그런즉 에돔에 대한 나 여호와의 도모와 데만 거민에 대하여 경영한 나 여호와의 뜻을 들으라 양 떼의 어린것들을 그들이 반드시 끌어가고 그 처소로 황무케 하리니
  Therefore, hear what the LORD has planned against Edom, what he has purposed against those who live in Teman: The young of the flock will be dragged away; he will completely destroy their pasture because of them.

21. 그 넘어지는 소리에 땅이 진동하며 그 부르짖는 소리는 홍해에 들리리라
  At the sound of their fall the earth will tremble; their cry will resound to the Red Sea.

22. 보라 원수가 독수리같이 날아와서 그 날개를 보스라 위에 펴는 그 날에 에돔 용사의 마음이 구로하는 여인 같으리라
  Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down, spreading its wings over Bozrah. In that day the hearts of Edom's warriors will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

23. 다메섹에 대한 말씀이라 하맛과 아르밧이 수치를 당하리니 이는 흉한 소문을 듣고 낙담함이라 바닷가에 슬픔이 있고 평안이 없도다
  Concerning Damascus: "Hamath and Arpad are dismayed, for they have heard bad news. They are disheartened, troubled like the restless sea.

24. 다메섹이 피곤하여 몸을 돌이켜 달아나려 하니 떨림이 그를 움켰고 해산하는 여인같이 고통과 슬픔이 그를 잡았도다
  Damascus has become feeble, she has turned to flee and panic has gripped her; anguish and pain have seized her, pain like that of a woman in labor.

25. 찬송의 성읍, 나의 즐거운 성읍이 어찌 버린 것이 되지 않겠느냐
  Why has the city of renown not been abandoned, the town in which I delight?

26. 나 만군의 여호와가 말하노라 그런즉 그 날에 그의 청년들은 그 거리에 엎드러지겠고 모든 군사는 멸절될 것이며
  Surely, her young men will fall in the streets; all her soldiers will be silenced in that day," declares the LORD Almighty.

27. 내가 다메섹의 성벽에 불을 놓으리니 벤하닷의 궁전이 살라지리라
  "I will set fire to the walls of Damascus; it will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad."

28. 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게 공격된 바 게달과 하솔 나라들에 대한 말씀이라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 너희는 일어나 게달로 올라가서 동방 자손들을 멸하라
  Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked: This is what the LORD says: "Arise, and attack Kedar and destroy the people of the East.

29. 너희는 그 장막과 양떼를 취하며 휘장과 모든 기구와 약대를 빼앗아다가 소유를 삼고 그들을 향하여 외치기를 두려움이 사방에 있다 할찌니라
  Their tents and their flocks will be taken; their shelters will be carried off with all their goods and camels. Men will shout to them, 'Terror on every side!'

30. 나 여호와가 말하노라 하솔 거민아 도망하라 멀리 가서 깊은 데 거하라 이는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 너를 칠 모략과 너를 칠 계책을 정하였음이니라
  "Flee quickly away! Stay in deep caves, you who live in Hazor," declares the LORD. "Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has plotted against you; he has devised a plan against you.

31. 나 여호와가 말하노라 너는 일어나 저 평안하고 염려 없이 거하는 백성 곧 성문이나 문빗장이 없이 홀로 거하는 국민을 치라
  "Arise and attack a nation at ease, which lives in confidence," declares the LORD, "a nation that has neither gates nor bars; its people live alone.

32. 그들의 약대들은 노략되겠고 그 많은 가축은 탈취를 당할 것이라 내가 그 머리털을 모지게 깎는 자들을 사면에 흩고 그 재난을 각방에서 오게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  Their camels will become plunder, and their large herds will be booty. I will scatter to the winds those who are in distant places and will bring disaster on them from every side," declares the LORD.

33. 하솔은 시랑의 거처가 되어 영원히 황무하리니 거기 거하는 사람이나 그 중에 우거하는 아무 인자가 없게 되리라
  "Hazor will become a haunt of jackals, a desolate place forever. No one will live there; no man will dwell in it."

34. 유다 왕 시드기야의 즉위한 지 오래지 아니하여서 엘람에 대한 여호와의 말씀이 선지자 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah:

35. 나 만군의 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 보라 내가 엘람의 힘의 으뜸 되는 활을 꺾을 것이요
  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "See, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might.

36. 하늘의 사방에서부터 사방 바람을 엘람에 이르게 하여 그들을 사방으로 흩으리니 엘람에서 쫓겨난 자의 이르지 아니하는 나라가 없으리라
  I will bring against Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the heavens; I will scatter them to the four winds, and there will not be a nation where Elam's exiles do not go.

37. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 엘람으로 그 원수의 앞, 그 생명을 찾는 자의 앞에서 놀라게 할 것이며 내가 재앙 곧 나의 진노를 그 위에 내릴 것이며 내가 또 그 뒤로 칼을 보내어 그를 진멸하기까지 할 것이라
  I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who seek their lives; I will bring disaster upon them, even my fierce anger," declares the LORD. "I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them.

38. 내가 나의 위를 엘람에 베풀고 왕과 족장들을 그 곳에서 멸하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials," declares the LORD.

39. 그러나 끝날에 이르러는 내가 엘람의 포로를 돌아오게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  "Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam in days to come," declares the LORD.

시편 26-27

1. 내가 나의 완전함에 행하였사오며 요동치 아니하고 여호와를 의지하였사오니 여호와여 나를 판단하소서
  Of David. Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

2. 여호와여 나를 살피시고 시험하사 내 뜻과 내 마음을 단련하소서
  Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;

3. 주의 인자하심이 내 목전에 있나이다 내가 주의 진리 중에 행하여
  for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth.

4. 허망한 사람과 같이 앉지 아니하였사오니 간사한 자와 동행치도 아니하리이다
  I do not sit with deceitful men, nor do I consort with hypocrites;

5. 내가 행악자의 집회를 미워하오니 악한 자와 같이 앉지 아니하리이다
  I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.

6. 여호와여 내가 무죄하므로 손을 씻고 주의 단에 두루 다니며
  I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, O LORD,

7. 감사의 소리를 들리고 주의 기이한 모든 일을 이르리이다
  proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

8. 여호와여 내가 주의 계신 집과 주의 영광이 거하는 곳을 사랑하오니
  I love the house where you live, O LORD, the place where your glory dwells.

9. 내 영혼을 죄인과 함께, 내 생명을 살인자와 함께 거두지 마소서
  Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with bloodthirsty men,

10. 저희 손에 악특함이 있고 그 오른손에 뇌물이 가득하오나
  in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.

11. 나는 나의 완전함에 행하오리니 나를 구속하시고 긍휼히 여기소서
  But I lead a blameless life; redeem me and be merciful to me.

12. 내 발이 평탄한 데 섰사오니 회중에서 여호와를 송축하리이다
  My feet stand on level ground; in the great assembly I will praise the LORD.

1. 여호와는 나의 빛이요 나의 구원이시니 내가 누구를 두려워하리요 여호와는 내 생명의 능력이시니 내가 누구를 무서워하리요
  Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?

2. 나의 대적, 나의 원수 된 행악자가 내 살을 먹으려고 내게로 왔다가 실족하여 넘어졌도다
  When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

3. 군대가 나를 대적하여 진 칠찌라도 내 마음이 두렵지 아니하며 전쟁이 일어나 나를 치려 할찌라도 내가 오히려 안연하리로다
  Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

4. 내가 여호와께 청하였던 한 가지 일 곧 그것을 구하리니 곧 나로 내 생전에 여호와의 집에 거하여 여호와의 아름다움을 앙망하며 그 전에서 사모하게 하실 것이라
  One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

5. 여호와께서 환난 날에 나를 그 초막 속에 비밀히 지키시고 그 장막 은밀한 곳에 나를 숨기시며 바위 위에 높이 두시리로다
  For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

6. 이제 내 머리가 나를 두른 내 원수 위에 들리리니 내가 그 장막에서 즐거운 제사를 드리겠고 노래하여 여호와를 찬송하리로다
  Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

7. 여호와여 내가 소리로 부르짖을 때에 들으시고 또한 나를 긍휼히 여기사 응답하소서
  Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.

8. 너희는 내 얼굴을 찾으라 하실 때에 내 마음이 주께 말하되 여호와여 내가 주의 얼굴을 찾으리이다 하였나이다
  My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek.

9. 주의 얼굴을 내게서 숨기지 마시고 주의 종을 노하여 버리지 마소서 주는 나의 도움이 되셨나이다 나의 구원의 하나님이시여 나를 버리지 말고 떠나지 마옵소서
  Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.

10. 내 부모는 나를 버렸으나 여호와는 나를 영접하시리이다
  Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.

11. 여호와여 주의 길로 나를 가르치시고 내 원수를 인하여 평탄한 길로 인도하소서
  Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.

12. 내 생명을 내 대적의 뜻에 맡기지 마소서 위증자와 악을 토하는 자가 일어나 나를 치려 함이니이다
  Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.

13. 내가 산 자의 땅에 있음이여 여호와의 은혜 볼 것을 믿었도다
  I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14. 너는 여호와를 바랄찌어다 강하고 담대하며 여호와를 바랄찌어다
  Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
