사사기 2

1. 여호와의 사자가 길갈에서부터 보김에 이르러 가로되 내가 너희로 애굽에서 나오게 하고 인도하여 너희 열조에게 맹세한 땅으로 이끌어 왔으며 또 내가 이르기를 내가 너희에게 세운 언약을 영원히 어기지 아니하리니
  The angel of the LORD went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, "I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. I said, 'I will never break my covenant with you,

2. 너희는 이 땅 거민과 언약을 세우지 말며 그들의 단을 헐라 하였거늘 너희가 내 목소리를 청종치 아니하였도다 그리함은 어찜이뇨
  and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars.' Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this?

3. 그러므로 내가 또 말하기를 내가 그들을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내지 아니하리니 그들이 너희 옆구리에 가시가 될 것이며 그들의 신들이 너희에게 올무가 되리라 하였노라
  Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you; they will be thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you."

4. 여호와의 사자가 이스라엘 모든 자손에게 이 말씀을 이르매 백성이 소리를 높여 운지라
  When the angel of the LORD had spoken these things to all the Israelites, the people wept aloud,

5. 그러므로 그 곳을 이름하여 보김이라 하니라 무리가 거기서 여호와께 제사를 드렸더라
  and they called that place Bokim. There they offered sacrifices to the LORD.

6. 전에 여호수아가 백성을 보내매 이스라엘 자손이 각기 그 기업으로 가서 땅을 차지하였고
  After Joshua had dismissed the Israelites, they went to take possession of the land, each to his own inheritance.

7. 백성이 여호수아의 사는 날 동안과 여호수아 뒤에 생존한 장로들 곧 여호와께서 이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 모든 큰 일을 본 자의 사는 날 동안에 여호와를 섬겼더라
  The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel.

8. 여호와의 종 눈의 아들 여호수아가 일백십 세에 죽으매
  Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of a hundred and ten.

9. 무리가 그의 기업의 경내 에브라임 산지 가아스 산 북 딤낫 헤레스에 장사하였고
  And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.

10. 그 세대 사람도 다 그 열조에게로 돌아갔고 그 후에 일어난 다른 세대는 여호와를 알지 못하며 여호와께서 이스라엘을 위하여 행하신 일도 알지 못하였더라
  After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the LORD nor what he had done for Israel.

11. 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하여 바알들을 섬기며
  Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD and served the Baals.

12. 애굽 땅에서 그들을 인도하여 내신 그 열조의 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신 곧 그 사방에 있는 백성의 신들을 좇아 그들에게 절하여 여호와를 진노하시게 하였으되
  They forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They provoked the LORD to anger

13. 곧 그들이 여호와를 버리고 바알과 아스다롯을 섬겼으므로
  because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

14. 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 노략하는 자의 손에 붙여 그들로 노략을 당케 하시며 또 사방 모든 대적의 손에 파시매 그들이 다시는 대적을 당치 못하였으며
  In his anger against Israel the LORD handed them over to raiders who plundered them. He sold them to their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.

15. 그들이 어디를 가든지 여호와의 손이 그들에게 재앙을 내리시매 곧 여호와께서 말씀하신 것과 같고 여호와께서 그들에게 맹세하신 것과 같아서 그들의 괴로움이 심하였더라
  Whenever Israel went out to fight, the hand of the LORD was against them to defeat them, just as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.

16. 여호와께서 사사를 세우사 노략하는 자의 손에서 그들을 건져내게 하셨으나
  Then the LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hands of these raiders.

17. 그들이 그 사사도 청종치 아니하고 돌이켜 다른 신들을 음란하듯 좇아 그들에게 절하고 여호와의 명령을 순종하던 그 열조의 행한 길을 속히 치우쳐 떠나서 그와 같이 행치 아니하였더라
  Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the LORD'S commands.

18. 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 사사를 세우실 때에는 그 사사와 함께 하셨고 그 사사의 사는 날 동안에는 여호와께서 그들을 대적의 손에서 구원하셨으니 이는 그들이 대적에게 압박과 괴롭게 함을 받아 슬피 부르짖으므로 여호와께서 뜻을 돌이키셨음이어늘
  Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them.

19. 그 사사가 죽은 후에는 그들이 돌이켜 그 열조보다 더욱 패괴하여 다른 신들을 좇아 섬겨 그들에게 절하고 그 행위와 패역한 길을 그치지 아니하였으므로
  But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways.

20. 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하여 이르시되 이 백성이 내가 그 열조와 세운 언약을 어기고 나의 목소리를 청종치 아니하였은즉
  Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel and said, "Because this nation has violated the covenant that I laid down for their forefathers and has not listened to me,

21. 나도 여호수아가 죽을 때에 남겨 둔 열국을 다시는 그들의 앞에서 하나도 쫓아내지 아니하리니
  I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.

22. 이는 이스라엘이 그 열조의 지킨 것같이 나 여호와의 도를 지켜 행하나 아니하나 그들로 시험하려 함이라 하시니라
  I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the LORD and walk in it as their forefathers did."

23. 그 열국을 머물러 두사 속히 쫓아내지 아니하시며 여호수아의 손에 붙이지 아니하셨음이 이를 인함이었더라
  The LORD had allowed those nations to remain; he did not drive them out at once by giving them into the hands of Joshua.

사도행전 6

1. 그 때에 제자가 더 많아졌는데 헬라파 유대인들이 자기의 과부들이 그 매일 구제에 빠지므로 히브리파 사람을 원망한대
  In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.

2. 열두 사도가 모든 제자를 불러 이르되 우리가 하나님의 말씀을 제쳐 놓고 공궤를 일삼는 것이 마땅치 아니하니
  So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

3. 형제들아 너희 가운데서 성령과 지혜가 충만하여 칭찬 듣는 사람 일곱을 택하라 우리가 이 일을 저희에게 맡기고
  Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them

4. 우리는 기도하는 것과 말씀 전하는 것을 전무하리라 하니
  and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."

5. 온 무리가 이 말을 기뻐하여 믿음과 성령이 충만한 사람 스데반과 또 빌립과 브로고로와 니가노르와 디몬과 바메나와 유대교에 입교한 안디옥 사람 니골라를 택하여
  This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

6. 사도들 앞에 세우니 사도들이 기도하고 그들에게 안수하니라
  They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

7. 하나님의 말씀이 점점 왕성하여 예루살렘에 있는 제자의 수가 더 심히 많아지고 허다한 제사장의 무리도 이 도에 복종하니라
  So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

8. 스데반이 은혜와 권능이 충만하여 큰 기사와 표적을 민간에 행하니
  Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.

9. 리버디노 구레네인, 알렉산드리아인, 길리기아와 아시아에서 온 사람들의 회당이라는 각 회당에서 어떤자들이 일어나 스데반으로 더불어 변론할쌔
  Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)--Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen,

10. 스데반이 지혜와 성령으로 말함을 저희가 능히 당치 못하여
  but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.

11. 사람들을 가르쳐 말시키되 이 사람이 모세와 및 하나님을 모독하는 말 하는 것을 우리가 들었노라 하게 하고
  Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, "We have heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God."

12. 백성과 장로와 서기관들을 충동시켜 와서 잡아가지고 공회에 이르러
  So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin.

13. 거짓 증인들을 세우니 가로되 이 사람이 이 거룩한 곳과 율법을 거스려 말하기를 마지 아니하는도다
  They produced false witnesses, who testified, "This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law.

14. 그의 말에 이 나사렛 예수가 이 곳을 헐고 또 모세가 우리에게 전하여 준 규례를 고치겠다 함을 우리가 들었노라 하거늘
  For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us."

15. 공회 중에 앉은 사람들이 다 스데반을 주목하여 보니 그 얼굴이 천사의 얼굴과 같더라
  All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

예레미야 15

1. 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 모세와 사무엘이 내 앞에 섰다 할찌라도 내 마음은 이 백성을 향할 수 없나니 그들을 내 앞에서 쫓아내치라
  Then the LORD said to me: "Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from my presence! Let them go!

2. 그들이 만일 네게 말하기를 우리가 어디로 나아가리요 하거든 너는 그들에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 사망할 자는 사망으로 나아가고 칼을 받을 자는 칼로 나아가고 기근을 당할 자는 기근으로 나아가고 포로 될 자는 포로 됨으로 나아갈찌니라 하셨다 하라
  And if they ask you, 'Where shall we go?' tell them, 'This is what the LORD says: "'Those destined for death, to death; those for the sword, to the sword; those for starvation, to starvation; those for captivity, to captivity.'

3. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 그들을 네 가지로 벌하리니 곧 죽이는 칼과 찢는 개와 삼켜 멸하는 공중의 새와 땅의 짐승으로 할 것이며
  "I will send four kinds of destroyers against them," declares the LORD, "the sword to kill and the dogs to drag away and the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

4. 유다 왕 히스기야의 아들 므낫세가 예루살렘에 행한 바를 인하여 내가 그들을 세계 열방 중에 흩으리라
  I will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem.

5. 예루살렘아 너를 불쌍히 여길 자 누구며 너를 곡할 자 누구며 돌이켜 네 평안을 물을 자 누구뇨
  "Who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will stop to ask how you are?

6. 여호와께서 가라사대 네가 나를 버렸고 내게서 물러갔으므로 네게로 내 손을 펴서 너를 멸하였노니 이는 내가 뜻을 돌이키기에 염증이 났음이로다
  You have rejected me," declares the LORD. "You keep on backsliding. So I will lay hands on you and destroy you; I can no longer show compassion.

7. 내가 그들을 그 땅의 여러 성문에서 키로 까불러 그 자식을 끊어서 내 백성을 멸하였나니 이는 그들이 그 길에서 돌이키지 아니하였음이라
  I will winnow them with a winnowing fork at the city gates of the land. I will bring bereavement and destruction on my people, for they have not changed their ways.

8. 그들의 과부가 내 앞에 바다 모래보다 더 많아졌느니라 내가 대낮에 훼멸할 자를 그들에게로 데려다가 그들과 청년들의 어미를 쳐서 놀람과 두려움을 그들에게 졸지에 임하게 하였으며
  I will make their widows more numerous than the sand of the sea. At midday I will bring a destroyer against the mothers of their young men; suddenly I will bring down on them anguish and terror.

9. 일곱 자식을 생산한 여인으로는 쇠약하여 기절하게 하며 오히려 백주에 그의 해로 떨어져서 그로 수치와 근심을 당케 하였느니라 그 남은 자는 그 대적의 칼에 붙이리라 여호와의 말이니라
  The mother of seven will grow faint and breathe her last. Her sun will set while it is still day; she will be disgraced and humiliated. I will put the survivors to the sword before their enemies," declares the LORD.

10. 내게 재앙이로다 나의 모친이여 모친이 나를 온 세계에게 다툼과 침을 당할 자로 낳으셨도다 내가 뀌어 주지도 아니하였고 사람이 내게 뀌이지도 아니하였건마는 다 나를 저주하는도다
  Alas, my mother, that you gave me birth, a man with whom the whole land strives and contends! I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me.

11. 여호와께서 가라사대 내가 진실로 너를 강하게 할 것이요 너로 복을 얻게 할 것이며 내가 진실로 네 대적으로 재앙과 환난의 때에 네게 간구하게 하리라
  The LORD said, "Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress.

12. 누가 능히 철 곧 북방의 철과 놋을 꺾으리요
  "Can a man break iron--iron from the north--or bronze?

13. 그러나 네 모든 죄로 인하여 네 사경의 모든 재산과 보물로 값없이 탈취를 당하게 할 것이며
  Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without charge, because of all your sins throughout your country.

14. 너로 네 대적과 함께 네가 알지 못하는 땅에 이르게 하리니 이는 나의 진노의 맹렬한 불이 너희를 사르려 함이니라
  I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for my anger will kindle a fire that will burn against you."

15. 여호와여 주께서 아시오니 원컨대 주는 나를 기억하시며 권고하사 나를 박해하는 자에게 보복하시고 주의 오래 참으심을 인하여 나로 멸망치 말게 하옵시며 주를 위하여 내가 치욕당하는 줄을 아시옵소서
  You understand, O LORD; remember me and care for me. Avenge me on my persecutors. You are long-suffering--do not take me away; think of how I suffer reproach for your sake.

16. 만군의 하나님 여호와시여 나는 주의 이름으로 일컬음을 받는 자라 내가 주의 말씀을 얻어 먹었사오니 주의 말씀은 내게 기쁨과 내 마음의 즐거움이오나
  When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty.

17. 내가 기뻐하는 자의 회에 앉지 아니하며 즐거워하지도 아니하고 주의 손을 인하여 홀로 앉았사오니 이는 주께서 분노로 내게 채우셨음이니이다
  I never sat in the company of revelers, never made merry with them; I sat alone because your hand was on me and you had filled me with indignation.

18. 나의 고통이 계속하며 상처가 중하여 낫지 아니함은 어찜이니이까 주께서는 내게 대하여 물이 말라서 속이는 시내 같으시리이까
  Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? Will you be to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails?

19. 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 네가 만일 돌아오면 내가 너를 다시 이끌어서 내 앞에 세울 것이며 네가 만일 천한 것에서 귀한 것을 취할 것 같으면 너는 내 입 같이 될 것이라 그들은 네게로 돌아오려니와 너는 그들에게로 돌아가지 말찌니라
  Therefore this is what the LORD says: "If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.

20. 내가 너로 이 백성 앞에 견고한 놋 성벽이 되게 하리니 그들이 너를 칠찌라도 이기지 못할 것은 내가 너와 함께하여 너를 구하여 건짐이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you," declares the LORD.

21. 내가 너를 악한 자의 손에서 건지며 무서운 자의 손에서 구속하리라
  "I will save you from the hands of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the cruel."

마가복음 1

1. 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도 복음의 시작이라
  The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2. 선지자 이사야의 글에 보라 내가 내 사자를 네 앞에 보내노니 저가 네 길을 예비하리라
  It is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"--

3. 광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 가로되 너희는 주의 길을 예비하라 그의 첩경을 평탄케 하라 기록된 것과 같이
  "a voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"

4. 세례 요한이 이르러 광야에서 죄 사함을 받게 하는 회개의 세례를 전파하니
  And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

5. 온 유대 지방과 예루살렘 사람이 다 나아가 자기 죄를 자복하고 요단 강에서 그에게 세례를 받더라
  The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

6. 요한은 약대털을 입고 허리에 가죽띠를 띠고 메뚜기와 석청을 먹더라
  John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.

7. 그가 전파하여 가로되 나보다 능력 많으신 이가 내 뒤에 오시나니 나는 굽혀 그의 신들메를 풀기도 감당치 못하겠노라
  And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.

8. 나는 너희에게 물로 세례를 주었거니와 그는 성령으로 너희에게 세례를 주시리라
  I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

9. 그 때에 예수께서 갈릴리 나사렛으로부터 와서 요단 강에서 요한에게 세례를 받으시고
  At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10. 곧 물에서 올라오실쌔 하늘이 갈라짐과 성령이 비둘기 같이 자기에게 내려오심을 보시더니
  As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

11. 하늘로서 소리가 나기를 너는 내 사랑하는 아들이라 내가 너를 기뻐하노라 하시니라
  And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

12. 성령이 곧 예수를 광야로 몰아내신지라
  At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert,

13. 광야에서 사십 일을 계셔서 사단에게 시험을 받으시며 들짐승과 함께 계시니 천사들이 수종들더라
  and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

14. 요한이 잡힌 후 예수께서 갈릴리에 오셔서 하나님의 복음을 전파하여
  After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.

15. 가라사대 때가 찼고 하나님 나라가 가까왔으니 회개하고 복음을 믿으라 하시더라
  "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

16. 갈릴리 해변으로 지나가시다가 시몬과 그 형제 안드레가 바다에 그물 던지는 것을 보시니 저희는 어부라
  As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

17. 예수께서 가라사대 나를 따라오너라 내가 너희로 사람을 낚는 어부가 되게 하리라 하시니
  "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

18. 곧 그물을 버려 두고 좇으니라
  At once they left their nets and followed him.

19. 조금 더 가시다가 세베대의 아들 야고보와 그 형제 요한을 보시니 저희도 배에 있어 그물을 깁는데
  When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.

20. 곧 부르시니 그 아비 세베대를 삯군들과 함께 배에 버려두고 예수를 따라가니라
  Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

21. 저희가 가버나움에 들어가니라 예수께서 곧 안식일에 회당에 들어가 가르치시매
  They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.

22. 뭇 사람이 그의 교훈에 놀라니 이는 그 가르치시는 것이 권세 있는 자와 같고 서기관들과 같지 아니함일러라
  The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.

23. 마침 저희 회당에 더러운 귀신들린 사람이 있어 소리질러 가로되
  Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,

24. 나사렛 예수여 우리가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까 우리를 멸하러 왔나이까 나는 당신이 누구인 줄 아노니 하나님의 거룩한 자니이다
  "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"

25. 예수께서 꾸짖어 가라사대 잠잠하고 그 사람에게서 나오라 하시니
  "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!"

26. 더러운 귀신이 그 사람으로 경련을 일으키게 하고 큰 소리를 지르며 나오는지라
  The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.

27. 다 놀라 서로 물어 가로되 이는 어찜이뇨 권세 있는 새 교훈이로다 더러운 귀신들을 명한즉 순종하는도다 하더라
  The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him."

28. 예수의 소문이 곧 온 갈릴리 사방에 퍼지더라
  News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

29. 회당에서 나와 곧 야고보와 요한과 함께 시몬과 안드레의 집에 들어가시니
  As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.

30. 시몬의 장모가 열병으로 누웠는지라 사람들이 곧 그의 일로 예수께 여짜온대
  Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her.

31. 나아가사 그 손을 잡아 일으키시니 열병이 떠나고 여자가 저희에게 수종드니라
  So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

32. 저물어 해질 때에 모든 병자와 귀신들린 자를 예수께 데려오니
  That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.

33. 온 동네가 문 앞에 모였더라
  The whole town gathered at the door,

34. 예수께서 각색 병든 많은 사람을 고치시며 많은 귀신을 내어쫓으시되 귀신이 자기를 알므로 그 말하는 것을 허락지 아니하시니라
  and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

35. 새벽 오히려 미명에 예수께서 일어나 나가 한적한 곳으로 가사 거기서 기도하시더니
  Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

36. 시몬과 및 그와 함께 있는 자들이 예수의 뒤를 따라가
  Simon and his companions went to look for him,

37. 만나서 가로되 모든 사람이 주를 찾나이다
  and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!"

38. 이르시되 우리가 다른 가까운 마을들로 가자 거기서도 전도하리니 내가 이를 위하여 왔노라 하시고
  Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."

39. 이에 온 갈릴리에 다니시며 저희 여러 회당에서 전도하시고 또 귀신들을 내어쫓으시더라
  So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

40. 한 문둥병자가 예수께 와서 꿇어 엎드리어 간구하여 가로되 원하시면 저를 깨끗케 하실 수 있나이다
  A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."

41. 예수께서 민망히 여기사 손을 내밀어 저에게 대시며 가라사대 내가 원하노니 깨끗함을 받으라 하신대
  Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"

42. 곧 문둥병이 그 사람에게서 떠나가고 깨끗하여진지라
  Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.

43. 엄히 경계하사 곧 보내시며
  Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:

44. 가라사대 삼가 아무에게 아무 말도 하지 말고 가서 네 몸을 제사장에게 보이고 네 깨끗케 됨을 인하여 모세의 명한 것을 드려 저희에게 증거하라 하셨더니
  "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."

45. 그러나 그 사람이 나가서 이 일을 많이 전파하여 널리 퍼지게 하니 그러므로 예수께서 다시는 드러나게 동네에 들어가지 못하시고 오직 바깥 한적한 곳에 계셨으나 사방에서 그에게로 나아오더라
  Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
