사사기 3

1. 여호와께서 가나안 전쟁을 알지 못한 이스라엘을 시험하려 하시며
  These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan

2. 이스라엘 자손의 세대 중에 아직 전쟁을 알지 못하는 자에게 그것을 가르쳐 알게 하려 하사 남겨 두신 열국은
  (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience):

3. 블레셋 다섯 방백과 가나안 모든 사람과 시돈 사람과 바알 헤르몬 산에서부터 하맛 어구까지 레바논 산에 거하는 히위 사람이라
  the five rulers of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the Lebanon mountains from Mount Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath.

4. 남겨 두신 이 열국으로 이스라엘을 시험하사 여호와께서 모세로 그들의 열조에게 명하신 명령들을 청종하나 알고자 하셨더라
  They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the LORD'S commands, which he had given their forefathers through Moses.

5. 이스라엘 자손은 마침내 가나안 사람과 헷 사람과 아모리 사람과 브리스 사람과 히위 사람과 여부스 사람 사이에 거하여
  The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

6. 그들의 딸들을 취하여 아내를 삼으며 자기 딸들을 그들의 아들에게 주며 또 그들의 신들을 섬겼더라
  They took their daughters in marriage and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

7. 이스라엘 자손이 여호와 목전에 악을 행하여 자기들의 하나님 여호와를 잊어버리고 바알들과 아세라들을 섬긴지라
  The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD; they forgot the LORD their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs.

8. 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 진노하사 그들을 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임의 손에 파셨으므로 이스라엘 자손이 구산 리사다임을 팔 년을 섬겼더니
  The anger of the LORD burned against Israel so that he sold them into the hands of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram Naharaim, to whom the Israelites were subject for eight years.

9. 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를 세워 구원하게 하시니 그는 곧 갈렙의 아우 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이라
  But when they cried out to the LORD, he raised up for them a deliverer, Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, who saved them.

10. 여호와의 신이 그에게 임하셨으므로 그가 이스라엘 사사가 되어 나가서 싸울 때에 여호와께서 메소보다미아 왕 구산 리사다임을 그 손에 붙이시매 옷니엘의 손이 구산 리사다임을 이기니라
  The Spirit of the LORD came upon him, so that he became Israel's judge and went to war. The LORD gave Cushan-Rishathaim king of Aram into the hands of Othniel, who overpowered him.

11. 그 땅이 태평한 지 사십 년에 그나스의 아들 옷니엘이 죽었더라
  So the land had peace for forty years, until Othniel son of Kenaz died.

12. 이스라엘 자손이 또 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하니라 이스라엘 자손이 여호와의 목전에 악을 행하므로 여호와께서 모압 왕 에글론을 강성케 하사 그들을 대적하게 하시매
  Once again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and because they did this evil the LORD gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel.

13. 에글론이 암몬과 아말렉 자손들을 모아 가지고 와서 이스라엘을 쳐서 종려나무 성읍을 점령한지라
  Getting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.

14. 이에 이스라엘 자손이 모압 왕 에글론을 십팔 년을 섬기니라
  The Israelites were subject to Eglon king of Moab for eighteen years.

15. 이스라엘 자손이 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 그들을 위하여 한 구원자를 세우셨으니 그는 곧 베냐민 사람 게라의 아들 왼손잡이 에훗이라 이스라엘 자손이 그를 의탁하여 모압 왕 에글론에게 공물을 바칠 때에
  Again the Israelites cried out to the LORD, and he gave them a deliverer--Ehud, a left-handed man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.

16. 에훗이 장이 한 규빗 되는 좌우에 날선 칼을 만들어 우편 다리 옷 속에 차고
  Now Ehud had made a double-edged sword about a foot and a half long, which he strapped to his right thigh under his clothing.

17. 공물을 모압 왕 에글론에게 바쳤는데 에글론은 심히 비둔한 자이었더라
  He presented the tribute to Eglon king of Moab, who was a very fat man.

18. 에훗이 공물 바치기를 마친 후에 공물을 메고 온 자들을 보내고
  After Ehud had presented the tribute, he sent on their way the men who had carried it.

19. 자기는 길갈 근처 돌 뜨는 곳에서부터 돌아와서 가로되 왕이여 내가 은밀한 일을 왕에게 고하려 하나이다 왕이 명하여 종용케 하라 하매 모셔 선 자들이 다 물러간지라
  At the idols near Gilgal he himself turned back and said, "I have a secret message for you, O king." The king said, "Quiet!" And all his attendants left him.

20. 에훗이 왕의 앞으로 나아가니 왕은 서늘한 다락방에 홀로 앉아 있는 중이라 에훗이 가로되 내가 하나님의 명을 받들어 왕에게 고할 일이 있나이다 하매 왕이 그 좌석에서 일어나니
  Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his summer palace and said, "I have a message from God for you." As the king rose from his seat,

21. 에훗이 왼손으로 우편 다리에서 칼을 빼어 왕의 몸을 찌르매
  Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king's belly.

22. 칼자루도 날을 따라 들어가서 그 끝이 등뒤까지 나갔고 그가 칼을 그 몸에서 빼어내지 아니하였으므로 기름이 칼날에 엉기었더라
  Even the handle sank in after the blade, which came out his back. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it.

23. 에훗이 현관에 나와서 다락문들을 닫아 잠그니라
  Then Ehud went out to the porch; he shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them.

24. 에훗이 나간 후에 왕의 신하들이 와서 다락문이 잠겼음을 보고 가로되 왕이 필연 다락방에서 발을 가리우신다 하고
  After he had gone, the servants came and found the doors of the upper room locked. They said, "He must be relieving himself in the inner room of the house."

25. 그들이 오래 기다려도 왕이 다락문을 열지 아니하는지라 열쇠를 취하여 열고 본즉 자기 주가 이미 죽어 땅에 엎드러졌더라
  They waited to the point of embarrassment, but when he did not open the doors of the room, they took a key and unlocked them. There they saw their lord fallen to the floor, dead.

26. 그들의 기다리는 동안에 에훗이 피하여 돌 뜨는 곳을 지나 스이라로 도망하니라
  While they waited, Ehud got away. He passed by the idols and escaped to Seirah.

27. 그가 이르러서는 에브라임 산지에서 나팔을 불매 이스라엘 자손이 산지에서 그를 따라 내려오니 에훗이 앞서 가며
  When he arrived there, he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went down with him from the hills, with him leading them.

28. 무리에게 이르되 나를 따르라 여호와께서 너희 대적 모압 사람을 너희의 손에 붙이셨느니라 하매 무리가 에훗을 따라 내려가서 모압 맞은편 요단 강 나루를 잡아 지켜 한 사람도 건너지 못하게 하였고
  "Follow me," he ordered, "for the LORD has given Moab, your enemy, into your hands." So they followed him down and, taking possession of the fords of the Jordan that led to Moab, they allowed no one to cross over.

29. 그 때에 모압 사람 일만 명 가량을 죽였으니 다 역사요 용사라 한 사람도 피하지 못하였더라
  At that time they struck down about ten thousand Moabites, all vigorous and strong; not a man escaped.

30. 그 날에 모압 사람이 이스라엘의 수하에 항복하매 그 땅이 팔십 년 동안 태평하였더라
  That day Moab was made subject to Israel, and the land had peace for eighty years.

31. 에훗의 후에 아낫의 아들 삼갈이 사사로 있어 소 모는 막대기로 블레셋 사람 육백 명을 죽였고 그도 이스라엘을 구원하였더라
  After Ehud came Shamgar son of Anath, who struck down six hundred Philistines with an oxgoad. He too saved Israel.

사도행전 7

1. 대제사장이 가로되 이것이 사실이냐
  Then the high priest asked him, "Are these charges true?"

2. 스데반이 가로되 여러분 부형들이여 들으소서 우리 조상 아브라함이 하란에 있기 전 메소보다미아에 있을 때에 영광의 하나님이 그에게 보여
  To this he replied: "Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran.

3. 가라사대 네 고향과 친척을 떠나 내가 네게 보일 땅으로 가라 하시니
  'Leave your country and your people,' God said, 'and go to the land I will show you.'

4. 아브라함이 갈대아 사람의 땅을 떠나 하란에 거하다가 그 아비가 죽으매 하나님이 그를 거기서 너희 시방 거하는 이 땅으로 옮기셨느니라
  "So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After the death of his father, God sent him to this land where you are now living.

5. 그러나 여기서 발 붙일 만큼도 유업을 주지 아니하시고 다만 이 땅을 아직 자식도 없는 저와 저의 씨에게 소유로 주신다고 약속하셨으며
  He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child.

6. 하나님이 또 이같이 말씀하시되 그 씨가 다른 땅에 나그네 되리니 그 땅 사람이 종을 삼아 사백 년 동안을 괴롭게 하리라 하시고
  God spoke to him in this way: 'Your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.

7. 또 가라사대 종 삼는 나라를 내가 심판하리니 그 후에 저희가 나와서 이 곳에서 나를 섬기리라 하시고
  But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,' God said, 'and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.'

8. 할례의 언약을 아브라함에게 주셨더니 그가 이삭을 낳아 여드레 만에 할례를 행하고 이삭이 야곱을, 야곱이 우리 열두 조상을 낳으니
  Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him eight days after his birth. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

9. 여러 조상이 요셉을 시기하여 애굽에 팔았더니 하나님이 저와 함께 계셔
  "Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him

10. 그 모든 환난에서 건져내사 애굽 왕 바로 앞에서 은총과 지혜를 주시매 바로가 저를 애굽과 자기 온 집의 치리자로 세웠느니라
  and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt; so he made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace.

11. 그 때에 애굽과 가나안 온 땅에 흉년들어 큰 환난이 있을쌔 우리 조상들이 양식이 없는지라
  "Then a famine struck all Egypt and Canaan, bringing great suffering, and our fathers could not find food.

12. 야곱이 애굽에 곡식 있다는 말을 듣고 먼저 우리 조상들을 보내고
  When Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers on their first visit.

13. 또 재차 보내매 요셉이 자기 형제들에게 알게 되고 또 요셉의 친족이 바로에게 드러나게 되니라
  On their second visit, Joseph told his brothers who he was, and Pharaoh learned about Joseph's family.

14. 요셉이 보내어 그 부친 야곱과 온 친족 일흔 다섯 사람을 청하였더니
  After this, Joseph sent for his father Jacob and his whole family, seventy-five in all.

15. 야곱이 애굽으로 내려가 자기와 우리 조상들이 거기서 죽고
  Then Jacob went down to Egypt, where he and our fathers died.

16. 세겜으로 옮기워 아브라함이 세겜 하몰의 자손에게서 은으로 값주고 산 무덤에 장사되니라
  Their bodies were brought back to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor at Shechem for a certain sum of money.

17. 하나님이 아브라함에게 약속하신 때가 가까우매 이스라엘 백성이 애굽에서 번성하여 많아졌더니
  "As the time drew near for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased.

18. 요셉을 알지 못하는 새 임금이 애굽 왕위에 오르매
  Then another king, who knew nothing about Joseph, became ruler of Egypt.

19. 그가 우리 족속에게 궤계를 써서 조상들을 괴롭게 하여 그 어린 아이들을 내어버려 살지 못하게 하려 할쌔
  He dealt treacherously with our people and oppressed our forefathers by forcing them to throw out their newborn babies so that they would die.

20. 그 때에 모세가 났는데 하나님 보시기에 아름다운지라 그 부친의 집에서 석 달을 길리우더니
  "At that time Moses was born, and he was no ordinary child. For three months he was cared for in his father's house.

21. 버리운 후에 바로의 딸이 가져다가 자기 아들로 기르매
  When he was placed outside, Pharaoh's daughter took him and brought him up as her own son.

22. 모세가 애굽 사람의 학술을 다 배워 그 말과 행사가 능하더라
  Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.

23. 나이 사십이 되매 그 형제 이스라엘 자손을 돌아볼 생각이 나더니
  "When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his fellow Israelites.

24. 한 사람의 원통한 일 당함을 보고 보호하여 압제받는 자를 위하여 원수를 갚아 애굽 사람을 쳐죽이니라
  He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian.

25. 저는 그 형제들이 하나님께서 자기의 손을 빌어 구원하여 주시는 것을 깨달으리라고 생각하였으나 저희가 깨닫지 못하였더라
  Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.

26. 이튿날 이스라엘 사람이 싸울 때에 모세가 와서 화목시키려 하여 가로되 너희는 형제라 어찌 서로 해하느냐 하니
  The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, 'Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each other?'

27. 그 동무를 해하는 사람이 모세를 밀뜨려 가로되 누가 너를 관원과 재판장으로 우리 위에 세웠느냐
  "But the man who was mistreating the other pushed Moses aside and said, 'Who made you ruler and judge over us?

28. 네가 어제 애굽 사람을 죽임과 같이 또 나를 죽이려느냐 하니
  Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?'

29. 모세가 이 말을 인하여 도주하여 미디안 땅에서 나그네 되어 거기서 아들 둘을 낳으니라
  When Moses heard this, he fled to Midian, where he settled as a foreigner and had two sons.

30. 사십 년이 차매 천사가 시내 산 광야 가시나무떨기 불꽃 가운데서 그에게 보이거늘
  "After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

31. 모세가 이 광경을 보고 기이히 여겨 알아보려고 가까이 가니 주의 소리 있어
  When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to look more closely, he heard the Lord's voice:

32. 나는 네 조상의 하나님 즉 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님이로라 하신대 모세가 무서워 감히 알아보지 못하더라
  'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.' Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.

33. 주께서 가라사대 네 발에 신을 벗으라 너 섰는 곳은 거룩한 땅이니라
  "Then the Lord said to him, 'Take off your sandals; the place where you are standing is holy ground.

34. 내 백성이 애굽에서 괴로움 받음을 내가 정녕히 보고 그 탄식하는 소리를 듣고 저희를 구원하려고 내려왔노니 시방 내가 너를 애굽으로 보내리라 하시니라
  I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.'

35. 저희 말이 누가 너를 관원과 재판장으로 세웠느냐 하며 거절하던 그 모세를 하나님은 가시나무떨기 가운데서 보이던 천사의 손을 의탁하여 관원과 속량하는 자로 보내셨으니
  "This is the same Moses whom they had rejected with the words, 'Who made you ruler and judge?' He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

36. 이 사람이 백성을 인도하여 나오게 하고 애굽과 홍해와 광야에서 사십 년간 기사와 표적을 행하였느니라
  He led them out of Egypt and did wonders and miraculous signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea and for forty years in the desert.

37. 이스라엘 자손을 대하여 하나님이 너희 형제 가운데서 나와 같은 선지자를 세우리라 하던 자가 곧 이 모세라
  "This is that Moses who told the Israelites, 'God will send you a prophet like me from your own people.'

38. 시내 산에서 말하던 그 천사와 및 우리 조상들과 함께 광야 교회에 있었고 또 생명의 도를 받아 우리에게 주던 자가 이 사람이라
  He was in the assembly in the desert, with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to us.

39. 우리 조상들이 모세에게 복종치 아니하고자하여 거절하며 그 마음이 도리어 애굽으로 향하여
  "But our fathers refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

40. 아론더러 이르되 우리를 인도할 신들을 우리를 위하여 만들라 애굽 땅에서 우리를 인도하던 이 모세는 어떻게 되었는지 알지 못하노라 하고
  They told Aaron, 'Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who led us out of Egypt--we don't know what has happened to him!'

41. 그 때에 저희가 송아지를 만들어 그 우상 앞에 제사하며 자기 손으로 만든 것을 기뻐하더니
  That was the time they made an idol in the form of a calf. They brought sacrifices to it and held a celebration in honor of what their hands had made.

42. 하나님이 돌이키사 저희를 그 하늘의 군대 섬기는 일에 버려 두셨으니 이는 선지자의 책에 기록된 바 이스라엘의 집이여 사십 년을 광야에서 너희가 희생과 제물을 내게 드린 일이 있었느냐
  But God turned away and gave them over to the worship of the heavenly bodies. This agrees with what is written in the book of the prophets: "'Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the desert, O house of Israel?

43. 몰록의 장막과 신 레판의 별을 받들었음이여 이것은 너희가 절하고자 하여 만든 형상이로다 내가 너희를 바벨론 밖에 옮기리라 함과 같으니라
  You have lifted up the shrine of Molech and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship. Therefore I will send you into exile' beyond Babylon.

44. 광야에서 우리 조상들에게 증거의 장막이 있었으니 이것은 모세에게 말씀하신 이가 명하사 저가 본 그 식대로 만들게 하신 것이라
  "Our forefathers had the tabernacle of the Testimony with them in the desert. It had been made as God directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen.

45. 우리 조상들이 그것을 받아 하나님이 저희 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방인의 땅을 점령할 때에 여호수아와 함께 가지고 들어가서 다윗 때까지 이르니라
  Having received the tabernacle, our fathers under Joshua brought it with them when they took the land from the nations God drove out before them. It remained in the land until the time of David,

46. 다윗이 하나님 앞에서 은혜를 받아 야곱의 집을 위하여 하나님의 처소를 준비케 하여 달라 하더니
  who enjoyed God's favor and asked that he might provide a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.

47. 솔로몬이 그를 위하여 집을 지었느니라
  But it was Solomon who built the house for him.

48. 그러나 지극히 높으신 이는 손으로 지은 곳에 계시지 아니하시나니 선지자의 말한 바
  "However, the Most High does not live in houses made by men. As the prophet says:

49. 주께서 가라사대 하늘은 나의 보좌요 땅은 나의 발등상이니 너희가 나를 위하여 무슨 집을 짓겠으며 나의 안식할 처소가 어디뇨
  "'Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be?

50. 이 모든 것이 다 내 손으로 지은 것이 아니냐 함과 같으니라
  Has not my hand made all these things?'

51. 목이 곧고 마음과 귀에 할례를 받지 못한 사람들아 너희가 항상 성령을 거스려 너희 조상과 같이 너희도 하는도다
  "You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

52. 너희 조상들은 선지자 중에 누구를 핍박지 아니하였느냐 의인이 오시리라 예고한 자들을 저희가 죽였고 이제 너희는 그 의인을 잡아 준 자요 살인한 자가 되나니
  Was there ever a prophet your fathers did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him--

53. 너희가 천사의 전한 율법을 받고도 지키지 아니하였도다 하니라
  you who have received the law that was put into effect through angels but have not obeyed it."

54. 저희가 이말을 듣고 마음에 찔려 저를 향하여 이를 갈거늘
  When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him.

55. 스데반이 성령이 충만하여 하늘을 우러러 주목하여 하나님의 영광과 및 예수께서 하나님 우편에 서신 것을 보고
  But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

56. 말하되 보라 하늘이 열리고 인자가 하나님 우편에 서신 것을 보노라 한대
  "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."

57. 저희가 큰 소리를 지르며 귀를 막고 일심으로 그에게 달려들어
  At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him,

58. 성 밖에 내치고 돌로 칠쌔 증인들이 옷을 벗어 사울이라 하는 청년의 발앞에 두니라
  dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

59. 저희가 돌로 스데반을 치니 스데반이 부르짖어 가로되 주 예수여 내 영혼을 받으시옵소서 하고
  While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

60. 무릎을 꿇고 크게 불러 가로되 주여 이 죄를 저들에게 돌리지 마옵소서 이 말을 하고 자니라
  Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.

예레미야 16

1. 여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하니라 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to me:

2. 너는 이 땅에서 아내를 취하지 말며 자녀를 두지 말찌니라
  "You must not marry and have sons or daughters in this place."

3. 이 곳에서 생산한 자녀와 이 땅에서 그들을 해산한 어미와 그들을 낳은 아비에 대하여 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라
  For this is what the LORD says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers:

4. 그들은 독한 병으로 죽고 슬퍼함을 입지 못하며 매장함을 얻지 못하여 지면의 분토와 같을 것이며 칼과 기근에 망하고 그 시체는 공중의 새와 땅 짐승의 밥이 되리라
  "They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like refuse lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth."

5. 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 상가에 들어가지 말라 가서 통곡하지 말며 그들을 위하여 애곡하지 말라 내가 이 백성에게서 나의 평강을 빼앗으며 인자와 긍휼을 제함이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  For this is what the LORD says: "Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity from this people," declares the LORD.

6. 큰 자든지 작은 자든지 이 땅에서 죽으리니 그들이 매장되지 못할 것이며 그들을 위하여 애곡하는 자도 없겠고 자기 몸을 베거나 대머리 되게 하는 자도 없을 것이며
  "Both high and low will die in this land. They will not be buried or mourned, and no one will cut himself or shave his head for them.

7. 슬플 때에 떡을 떼며 그 죽은 자를 인하여 그들을 위로하는 자가 없을 것이며 그들의 아비나 어미의 상사를 위하여 위로의 잔을 그들에게 마시울 자가 없으리라
  No one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead--not even for a father or a mother--nor will anyone give them a drink to console them.

8. 너는 잔치집에 들어가서 그들과 함께 앉아 먹거나 마시지 말라
  "And do not enter a house where there is feasting and sit down to eat and drink.

9. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라 보라 기뻐하는 소리와 즐거워하는 소리와 신랑의 소리와 신부의 소리를 내가 네 목전, 네 시대에 이 곳에서 끊어지게 하리라
  For this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom in this place.

10. 네가 이 모든 말로 백성에게 고할 때에 그들이 네게 묻기를 여호와께서 우리에게 이 모든 큰 재앙을 광포하심은 어찜이며 우리의 죄악은 무엇이며 우리가 우리 하나님 여호와께 범한 죄는 무엇이뇨 하거든
  "When you tell these people all this and they ask you, 'Why has the LORD decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the LORD our God?'

11. 너는 그들에게 대답하기를 여호와께서 말씀하시되 너희 열조가 나를 버리고 다른 신들을 좇아서 그들을 섬기며 그들에게 절하고 나를 버려 내 법을 지키지 아니하였음이라
  then say to them, 'It is because your fathers forsook me,' declares the LORD, 'and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. They forsook me and did not keep my law.

12. 너희가 너희 열조보다 더욱 악을 행하였도다 보라 너희가 각기 악한 마음의 강퍅함을 따라 행하고 나를 청종치 아니하였으므로
  But you have behaved more wickedly than your fathers. See how each of you is following the stubbornness of his evil heart instead of obeying me.

13. 내가 너희를 이 땅에서 쫓아내어 너희와 너희 열조의 알지 못하던 땅에 이르게 할 것이라 너희가 거기서 주야로 다른 신들을 섬기리니 이는 내가 너희에게 은혜를 베풀지 아니함이라 하셨다 하라
  So I will throw you out of this land into a land neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.'

14. 여호와께서 가라사대 그러나 보라 날이 이르리니 다시는 이스라엘 자손을 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내신 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하지 아니하고
  "However, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when men will no longer say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,'

15. 이스라엘 자손을 북방 땅과 그 모든 쫓겨났던 나라에서 인도하여 내신 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하리라 내가 그들을 그 열조에게 준 그들의 땅으로 인도하여 들이리라
  but they will say, 'As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.' For I will restore them to the land I gave their forefathers.

16. 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 내가 많은 어부를 불러다가 그들을 낚게 하며 그 후에 많은 포수를 불러다가 그들을 모든 산과 모든 작은 산과 암혈에서 사냥하게 하리니
  "But now I will send for many fishermen," declares the LORD, "and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks.

17. 이는 내 눈이 그들의 행위를 감찰하므로 그들이 내 얼굴 앞에서 숨김을 얻지 못하며 그들의 죄악이 내 목전에서 은폐되지 못함이라
  My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.

18. 내가 위선 그들의 악과 죄를 배나 갚을 것은 그들이 그 미운 물건의 시체로 내 땅을 더럽히며 그들의 가증한 것으로 내 산업에 가득하게 하였음이니라
  I will repay them double for their wickedness and their sin, because they have defiled my land with the lifeless forms of their vile images and have filled my inheritance with their detestable idols."

19. 여호와 나의 힘, 나의 보장, 환난 날의 피난처시여 열방이 땅 끝에서 주께 이르러 말하기를 우리 열조의 계승한 바는 허무하고 망탄하고 무익한 것뿐이라
  O LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.

20. 인생이 어찌 신 아닌 것을 자기의 신으로 삼겠나이까 하리이다
  Do men make their own gods? Yes, but they are not gods!"

21. 여호와께서 가라사대 보라 이번에 그들에게 내 손과 내 능을 알려서 그들로 내 이름이 여호와인 줄 알게 하리라
  "Therefore I will teach them--this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD.

마가복음 2

1. 수일 후에 예수께서 다시 가버나움에 들어가시니 집에 계신 소문이 들린지라
  A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.

2. 많은 사람이 모여서 문 앞에라도 용신할 수 없게 되었는데 예수께서 저희에게 도를 말씀하시더니
  So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.

3. 사람들이 한 중풍병자를 네 사람에게 메워 가지고 예수께로 올쌔
  Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.

4. 무리를 인하여 예수께 데려갈 수 없으므로 그 계신 곳의 지붕을 뜯어 구멍을 내고 중풍병자의 누운 상을 달아내리니
  Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.

5. 예수께서 저희의 믿음을 보시고 중풍병자에게 이르시되 소자야 네 죄 사함을 받았느니라 하시니
  When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

6. 어떤 서기관들이 거기 앉아서 마음에 의논하기를
  Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,

7. 이 사람이 어찌 이렇게 말하는가 참람하도다 오직 하나님 한 분 외에는 누가 능히 죄를 사하겠느냐
  "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

8. 저희가 속으로 이렇게 의논하는 줄을 예수께서 곧 중심에 아시고 이르시되 어찌하여 이것을 마음에 의논하느냐
  Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?

9. 중풍병자에게 네 죄 사함을 받았느니라 하는 말과 일어나 네 상을 가지고 걸어가라 하는 말이 어느 것이 쉽겠느냐
  Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?

10. 그러나 인자가 땅에서 죄를 사하는 권세가 있는 줄을 너희로 알게 하려 하노라 하시고 중풍병자에게 말씀하시되
  But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." He said to the paralytic,

11. 내가 네게 이르노니 일어나 네 상을 가지고 집으로 가라 하시니
  "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

12. 그가 일어나 곧 상을 가지고 모든 사람 앞에서 나가거늘 저희가 다 놀라 영광을 하나님께 돌리며 가로되 우리가 이런 일을 도무지 보지 못하였다 하더라
  He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

13. 예수께서 다시 바닷가에 나가시매 무리가 다 나아왔거늘 예수께서 저희를 가르치시니라
  Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them.

14. 또 지나가시다가 알패오의 아들 레위가 세관에 앉아 있는 것을 보시고 저에게 이르시되 나를 좇으라 하시니 일어나 좇으니라
  As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.

15. 그의 집에 앉아 잡수실 때에 많은 세리와 죄인들이 예수와 그 제자들과 함께 앉았으니 이는 저희가 많이 있어서 예수를 좇음이러라
  While Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

16. 바리새인의 서기관들이 예수께서 죄인과 세리들과 함께 잡수시는 것을 보고 그 제자들에게 이르되 어찌하여 세리와 죄인들과 함께 먹는가
  When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the "sinners" and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"

17. 예수께서 들으시고 저희에게 이르시되 건강한 자에게는 의원이 쓸데없고 병든 자에게라야 쓸데있느니라 내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 부르러 왔노라 하시니라
  On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

18. 요한의 제자들과 바리새인들이 금식하고 있는지라 혹이 예수께 와서 말하되 요한의 제자들과 바리새인의 제자들은 금식하는데 어찌하여 당신의 제자들은 금식하지 아니하나이까
  Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, "How is it that John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?"

19. 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 혼인집 손님들이 신랑과 함께 있을 때에 금식할 수 있느냐 신랑과 함께 있을 동안에는 금식할 수 없나니
  Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.

20. 그러나 신랑을 빼앗길 날이 이르리니 그 날에는 금식할 것이니라
  But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.

21. 생베 조각을 낡은 옷에 붙이는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 기운 새 것이 낡은 그것을 당기어 해어짐이 더하게 되느니라
  "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse.

22. 새 포도주를 낡은 가죽 부대에 넣는 자가 없나니 만일 그렇게 하면 새 포도주가 부대를 터뜨려 포도주와 부대를 버리게 되리라 오직 새 포도주는 새 부대에 넣느니라 하시니라
  And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

23. 안식일에 예수께서 밀밭 사이로 지나가실쌔 그 제자들이 길을 열며 이삭을 자르니
  One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.

24. 바리새인들이 예수께 말하되 보시오 저희가 어찌하여 안식일에 하지 못할 일을 하나이까
  The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"

25. 예수께서 가라사대 다윗이 자기와 및 함께한 자들이 핍절되어 시장할 때에 한 일을 읽지 못하였느냐
  He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?

26. 그가 아비아달 대제사장 때에 하나님의 전에 들어가서 제사장 외에는 먹지 못하는 진설병을 먹고 함께한 자들에게도 주지 아니하였느냐
  In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions."

27. 또 가라사대 안식일은 사람을 위하여 있는 것이요 사람이 안식일을 위하여 있는 것이 아니니
  Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

28. 이러므로 인자는 안식일에도 주인이니라
  So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
