여호수아 23

1. 여호와께서 이스라엘의 사방 대적을 다 멸하시고 안식을 이스라엘에게 주신 지 오랜 후에 여호수아가 나이 많아 늙은지라
  After a long time had passed and the LORD had given Israel rest from all their enemies around them, Joshua, by then old and well advanced in years,

2. 여호수아가 온 이스라엘 곧 그 장로들과 두령들과 재판장들과 유사들을 불러다가 그들에게 이르되 나는 나이 많아 늙었도다
  summoned all Israel--their elders, leaders, judges and officials--and said to them: "I am old and well advanced in years.

3. 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희를 위하여 이 모든 나라에 행하신 일을 너희가 다 보았거니와 너희 하나님 여호와 그는 너희를 위하여 싸우신 자시니라
  You yourselves have seen everything the LORD your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the LORD your God who fought for you.

4. 보라 내가 요단에서부터 해지는 편 대해까지의 남아 있는 나라들과 이미 멸한 모든 나라를 내가 너희를 위하여 제비뽑아 너희 지파에게 기업이 되게 하였느니라
  Remember how I have allotted as an inheritance for your tribes all the land of the nations that remain--the nations I conquered--between the Jordan and the Great Sea in the west.

5. 너희 하나님 여호와 그가 너희 앞에서 그들을 쫓으사 너희 목전에서 떠나게 하시리니 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 말씀하신 대로 너희가 그 땅을 차지할 것이라
  The LORD your God himself will drive them out of your way. He will push them out before you, and you will take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.

6. 그러므로 너희는 크게 힘써 모세의 율법책에 기록된 것을 다 지켜 행하라 그것을 떠나 좌로나 우로나 치우치지 말라
  "Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.

7. 너희 중에 남아 있는 이 나라들 중에 가지 말라 그 신들의 이름을 부르지 말라 그것을 가리켜 맹세하지 말라 또 그것을 섬겨서 그것에게 절하지 말라
  Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them.

8. 오직 너희 하나님 여호와를 친근히 하기를 오늘날까지 행한 것같이 하라
  But you are to hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have until now.

9. 대저 여호와께서 강대한 나라들을 너희 앞에서 쫓아내셨으므로 오늘날까지 너희를 당한 자가 하나도 없었느니라
  "The LORD has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you.

10. 너희 중 한 사람이 천명을 쫓으리니 이는 너희 하나님 여호와 그가 너희에게 말씀하신 것같이 너희를 위하여 싸우심이라
  One of you routs a thousand, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as he promised.

11. 그러므로 스스로 조심하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 사랑하라
  So be very careful to love the LORD your God.

12. 너희가 만일 퇴보하여 너희 중에 빠져 남아 있는 이 민족들을 친근히 하여 더불어 혼인하며 피차 왕래하면
  "But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,

13. 정녕히 알라 너희 하나님 여호와께서 이 민족들을 너희 목전에서 다시는 쫓아내지 아니하시리니 그들이 너희에게 올무가 되며 덫이 되며 너희 옆구리에 채찍이 되며 너희 눈에 가시가 되어서 너희가 필경은 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주신 이 아름다운 땅에서 멸절하리라
  then you may be sure that the LORD your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land, which the LORD your God has given you.

14. 보라 나는 오늘날 온 세상이 가는 길로 가려니와 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 대하여 말씀하신 모든 선한 일이 하나도 틀리지 아니하고 다 너희에게 응하여 그 중에 하나도 어김이 없음을 너희 모든 사람의 마음과 뜻에 아는 바라
  "Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.

15. 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 말씀하신 모든 선한 일이 너희에게 임한 것같이 여호와께서 모든 불길한 일도 너희에게 임하게 하사 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 주신 이 아름다운 땅에서 너희를 멸절하기까지 하실 것이라
  But just as every good promise of the LORD your God has come true, so the LORD will bring on you all the evil he has threatened, until he has destroyed you from this good land he has given you.

16. 만일 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 명하신 언약을 범하고 가서 다른 신들을 섬겨 그에게 절하면 여호와의 진노가 너희에게 미치리니 너희에게 주신 아름다운 땅에서 너희가 속히 망하리라
  If you violate the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the LORD'S anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you."

사도행전 3

1. 제 구시 기도 시간에 베드로와 요한이 성전에 올라갈쌔
  One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer--at three in the afternoon.

2. 나면서 앉은뱅이 된 자를 사람들이 메고 오니 이는 성전에 들어가는 사람들에게 구걸하기 위하여 날마다 미문이라는 성전문에 두는 자라
  Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

3. 그가 베드로와 요한이 성전에 들어가려 함을 보고 구걸하거늘
  When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

4. 베드로가 요한으로 더불어 주목하여 가로되 우리를 보라 하니
  Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!"

5. 그가 저희에게 무엇을 얻을까 하여 바라보거늘
  So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

6. 베드로가 가로되 은과 금은 내게 없거니와 내게 있는 것으로 네게 주노니 곧 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 걸으라 하고
  Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

7. 오른손을 잡아 일으키니 발과 발목이 곧 힘을 얻고
  Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.

8. 뛰어 서서 걸으며 그들과 함께 성전으로 들어가면서 걷기도 하고 뛰기도 하며 하나님을 찬미하니
  He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

9. 모든 백성이 그 걷는 것과 및 하나님을 찬미함을 보고
  When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

10. 그 본래 성전 미문에 앉아 구걸하던 사람인 줄 알고 그의 당한 일을 인하여 심히 기이히 여기며 놀라니라
  they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11. 나은 사람이 베드로와 요한을 붙잡으니 모든 백성이 크게 놀라며 달려 나아가 솔로몬의 행각이라 칭하는 행각에 모이거늘
  While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colonnade.

12. 베드로가 이것을 보고 백성에게 말하되 이스라엘 사람들아 이 일을 왜 기이히 여기느냐 우리 개인의 권능과 경건으로 이 사람을 걷게 한 것처럼 왜 우리를 주목하느냐
  When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

13. 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님 곧 우리 조상의 하나님이 그 종 예수를 영화롭게 하셨느니라 너희가 저를 넘겨 주고 빌라도가 놓아 주기로 결안한 것을 너희가 그 앞에서 부인하였으니
  The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.

14. 너희가 거룩하고 의로운 자를 부인하고 도리어 살인한 사람을 놓아 주기를 구하여
  You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

15. 생명의 주를 죽였도다 그러나 하나님이 죽은 자 가운데서 살리셨으니 우리가 이 일에 증인이로라
  You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

16. 그 이름을 믿으므로 그 이름이 너희 보고 아는 이 사람을 성하게 하였나니 예수로 말미암아 난 믿음이 너희 모든 사람 앞에서 이같이 완전히 낫게 하였느니라
  By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

17. 형제들아 너희가 알지 못하여서 그리하였으며 너희 관원들도 그리한 줄 아노라
  "Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.

18. 그러나 하나님이 모든 선지자의 입을 의탁하사 자기의 그리스도의 해받으실 일을 미리 알게 하신 것을 이와 같이 이루셨느니라
  But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer.

19. 그러므로 너희가 회개하고 돌이켜 너희 죄 없이 함을 받으라 이같이 하면 유쾌하게 되는 날이 주 앞으로부터 이를 것이요
  Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

20. 또 주께서 너희를 위하여 예정하신 그리스도 곧 예수를 보내시리니
  and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even Jesus.

21. 하나님이 영원 전부터 거룩한 선지자의 입을 의탁하여 말씀하신 바 만유를 회복하실 때까지는 하늘이 마땅히 그를 받아 두리라
  He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

22. 모세가 말하되 주 하나님이 너희를 위하여 너희 형제 가운데서 나 같은 선지자 하나를 세울 것이니 너희가 무엇이든지 그 모든 말씀을 들을 것이라
  For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

23. 누구든지 그 선지자의 말을 듣지 아니하는 자는 백성 중에서 멸망받으리라 하였고
  Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.'

24. 또한 사무엘 때부터 옴으로 말한 모든 선지자도 이 때를 가리켜 말하였느니라
  "Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days.

25. 너희는 선지자들의 자손이요 또 하나님이 너희 조상으로 더불어 세우신 언약의 자손이라 아브라함에게 이르시기를 땅 위의 모든 족속이 너의 씨를 인하여 복을 받으리라 하셨으니
  And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.'

26. 하나님이 그 종을 세워 복 주시려고 너희에게 먼저 보내사 너희로 하여금 돌이켜 각각 그 악함을 버리게 하셨느니라
  When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."

■ 혼자 읽기

예레미야 12

1. 여호와여 내가 주와 쟁변할 때에는 주는 의로우시니이다 그러나 내가 주께 질문하옵나니 악한 자의 길이 형통하며 패역한 자가 다 안락함은 무슨 연고니이까
  You are always righteous, O LORD, when I bring a case before you. Yet I would speak with you about your justice: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?

2. 주께서 그들을 심으시므로 그들이 뿌리가 박히고 장성하여 열매를 맺었거늘 그들의 입은 주께 가까우나 그 마음은 머니이다
  You have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit. You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.

3. 여호와여 주께서 나를 아시고 나를 보시며 내 마음이 주를 향하여 어떠함을 감찰하시오니 양을 잡으려고 끌어냄과 같이 그들을 끌어내시되 죽일 날을 위하여 그들을 예비하옵소서
  Yet you know me, O LORD; you see me and test my thoughts about you. Drag them off like sheep to be butchered! Set them apart for the day of slaughter!

4. 언제까지 이 땅이 슬퍼하며 온 지방의 채소가 마르리이까 짐승과 새들도 멸절하게 되었사오니 이는 이 땅 거민이 악하여 스스로 말하기를 그가 우리의 결국을 보지 못하리라 함이니이다
  How long will the land lie parched and the grass in every field be withered? Because those who live in it are wicked, the animals and birds have perished. Moreover, the people are saying, "He will not see what happens to us."

5. 네가 보행자와 함께 달려도 피곤하면 어찌 능히 말과 경주하겠느냐 네가 평안한 땅에서는 무사하려니와 요단의 창일한 중에서는 어찌 하겠느냐
  "If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?

6. 네 형제와 아비의 집이라도 너를 속이며 네 뒤에서 크게 외치나니 그들이 네게 좋은 말을 할찌라도 너는 믿지 말찌니라
  Your brothers, your own family--even they have betrayed you; they have raised a loud cry against you. Do not trust them, though they speak well of you.

7. 내가 내 집을 버리며 내 산업을 내어던져 내 마음의 사랑하는 것을 그 대적의 손에 붙였노니
  "I will forsake my house, abandon my inheritance; I will give the one I love into the hands of her enemies.

8. 내 산업이 삼림 중의 사자같이 되어서 나를 향하여 그 소리를 발하는 고로 내가 그를 미워하였음이로라
  My inheritance has become to me like a lion in the forest. She roars at me; therefore I hate her.

9. 내 산업이 내게 대하여는 무늬 있는 매가 아니냐 매들이 그를 에워싸지 아니하느냐 너희는 가서 들짐승들을 모아다가 그것을 삼키게 하라
  Has not my inheritance become to me like a speckled bird of prey that other birds of prey surround and attack? Go and gather all the wild beasts; bring them to devour.

10. 많은 목자가 내 포도원을 훼파하며 내 분깃을 유린하여 나의 낙토로 황무지를 만들었도다
  Many shepherds will ruin my vineyard and trample down my field; they will turn my pleasant field into a desolate wasteland.

11. 그들이 이를 황무케 하였으므로 그 황무지가 나를 향하여 슬퍼하는도다 온 땅이 황무함은 이를 개의하는 자가 없음이로다
  It will be made a wasteland, parched and desolate before me; the whole land will be laid waste because there is no one who cares.

12. 훼멸하는 자들이 광야 모든 자산 위에 이르렀고 여호와의 칼이 땅 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 삼키니 무릇 혈육 있는 자가 평안치 못하도다
  Over all the barren heights in the desert destroyers will swarm, for the sword of the LORD will devour from one end of the land to the other; no one will be safe.

13. 무리가 밀을 심어도 가시를 거두며 수고하여도 소득이 없은즉 그 소산으로 인하여 스스로 수치를 당하리니 이는 여호와의 분노를 인함이니라
  They will sow wheat but reap thorns; they will wear themselves out but gain nothing. So bear the shame of your harvest because of the LORD'S fierce anger."

14. 내가 내 백성 이스라엘에게 산업으로 준 산업을 다치는 나의 모든 악한 이웃에게 대하여 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 보라 내가 그들을 그 땅에서 뽑아 버리겠고 유다 집은 그들 중에서 뽑아내리라
  This is what the LORD says: "As for all my wicked neighbors who seize the inheritance I gave my people Israel, I will uproot them from their lands and I will uproot the house of Judah from among them.

15. 내가 그들을 뽑아낸 후에 내가 돌이켜 그들을 긍휼히 여겨서 각 사람을 그 산업으로, 각 사람을 그 땅으로 다시 인도하리니
  But after I uproot them, I will again have compassion and will bring each of them back to his own inheritance and his own country.

16. 그들이 내 백성의 도를 부지런히 배우며 사는 여호와 내 이름으로 맹세하기를 자기들이 내 백성을 가리켜 바알로 맹세하게 한 것같이 하면 그들이 내 백성 중에 세움을 입으려니와
  And if they learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying, 'As surely as the LORD lives'--even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal--then they will be established among my people.

17. 그들이 그리하지 아니하면 내가 반드시 그 나라를 뽑으리라 뽑아 멸하리라 여호와의 말이니라
  But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy it," declares the LORD.

마태복음 26

1. 예수께서 이 말씀을 다 마치시고 제자들에게 이르시되
  When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,

2. 너희의 아는 바와 같이 이틀을 지나면 유월절이라 인자가 십자가에 못 박히기 위하여 팔리우리라 하시더라
  "As you know, the Passover is two days away--and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."

3. 그 때에 대제사장들과 백성의 장로들이 가야바라 하는 대제사장의 아문에 모여
  Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,

4. 예수를 궤계로 잡아 죽이려고 의논하되
  and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him.

5. 말하기를 민요가 날까 하노니 명절에는 말자 하더라
  "But not during the Feast," they said, "or there may be a riot among the people."

6. 예수께서 베다니 문둥이 시몬의 집에 계실 때에
  While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper,

7. 한 여자가 매우 귀한 향유 한 옥합을 가지고 나아와서 식사하시는 예수의 머리에 부으니
  a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.

8. 제자들이 보고 분하여 가로되 무슨 의사로 이것을 허비하느뇨
  When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked.

9. 이것을 많은 값에 팔아 가난한 자들에게 줄 수 있었겠도다 하거늘
  "This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor."

10. 예수께서 아시고 저희에게 이르시되 너희가 어찌하여 이 여자를 괴롭게 하느냐 저가 내게 좋은 일을 하였느니라
  Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

11. 가난한 자들은 항상 너희와 함께 있거니와 나는 항상 함께 있지 아니하리라
  The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.

12. 이 여자가 내 몸에 이 향유를 부은 것은 내 장사를 위하여 함이니라
  When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

13. 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 온 천하에 어디서든지 이 복음이 전파되는 곳에는 이 여자의 행한 일도 말하여 저를 기념하리라 하시니라
  I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."

14. 그 때에 열둘 중에 하나인 가룟 유다라 하는 자가 대제사장들에게 가서 말하되
  Then one of the Twelve--the one called Judas Iscariot--went to the chief priests

15. 내가 예수를 너희에게 넘겨 주리니 얼마나 주려느냐 하니 그들이 은 삼십을 달아 주거늘
  and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.

16. 저가 그 때부터 예수를 넘겨 줄 기회를 찾더라
  From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

17. 무교절의 첫날에 제자들이 예수께 나아와서 가로되 유월절 잡수실 것을 우리가 어디서 예비하기를 원하시나이까
  On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"

18. 가라사대 성 안 아무에게 가서 이르되 선생님 말씀이 내 때가 가까왔으니 내 제자들과 함께 유월절을 네 집에서 지키겠다 하시더라 하라 하신대
  He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.'"

19. 제자들이 예수의 시키신 대로 하여 유월절을 예비하였더라
  So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

20. 저물 때에 예수께서 열두 제자와 함께 앉으셨더니
  When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.

21. 저희가 먹을 때에 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희 중에 한 사람이 나를 팔리라 하시니
  And while they were eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me."

22. 저희가 심히 근심하여 각각 여짜오되 주여 내니이까
  They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, "Surely not I, Lord?"

23. 대답하여 가라사대 나와 함께 그릇에 손을 넣는 그가 나를 팔리라
  Jesus replied, "The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

24. 인자는 자기에게 대하여 기록된 대로 가거니와 인자를 파는 그 사람에게는 화가 있으리로다 그 사람은 차라리 나지 아니하였더면 제게 좋을 뻔하였느니라
  The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

25. 예수를 파는 유다가 대답하여 가로되 랍비여 내니이까 대답하시되 네가 말하였도다 하시니라
  Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, "Surely not I, Rabbi?" Jesus answered, "Yes, it is you."

26. 저희가 먹을 때에 예수께서 떡을 가지사 축복하시고 떼어 제자들을 주시며 가라사대 받아 먹으라 이것이 내 몸이니라 하시고
  While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."

27. 또 잔을 가지사 사례하시고 저희에게 주시며 가라사대 너희가 다 이것을 마시라
  Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.

28. 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라
  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

29. 그러나 너희에게 이르노니 내가 포도나무에서 난 것을 이제부터 내 아버지의 나라에서 새 것으로 너희와 함께 마시는 날까지 마시지 아니하리라 하시니라
  I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

30. 이에 저희가 찬미하고 감람 산으로 나아가니라
  When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

31. 때에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 오늘 밤에 너희가 다 나를 버리리라 기록된 바 내가 목자를 치리니 양의 떼가 흩어지리라 하였느니라
  Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: "'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

32. 그러나 내가 살아난 후에 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가리라
  But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

33. 베드로가 대답하여 가로되 다 주를 버릴찌라도 나는 언제든지 버리지 않겠나이다
  Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."

34. 예수께서 가라사대 내가 진실로 네게 이르노니 오늘 밤 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라
  "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."

35. 베드로가 가로되 내가 주와 함께 죽을찌언정 주를 부인하지 않겠나이다 하고 모든 제자도 이와 같이 말하니라
  But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the other disciples said the same.

36. 이에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 저기 가서 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라 하시고
  Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."

37. 베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가실쌔 고민하고 슬퍼하사
  He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

38. 이에 말씀하시되 내 마음이 심히 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 나와 함께 깨어 있으라 하시고
  Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

39. 조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고
  Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

40. 제자들에게 오사 그 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 너희가 나와 함께 한 시 동안도 이렇게 깨어 있을 수 없더냐
  Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.

41. 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 있어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고
  "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

42. 다시 두 번째 나아가 기도하여 가라사대 내 아버지여 만일 내가 마시지 않고는 이 잔이 내게서 지나갈 수 없거든 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시고
  He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

43. 다시 오사 보신즉 저희가 자니 이는 저희 눈이 피곤함일러라
  When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.

44. 또 저희를 두시고 나아가 세 번째 동일한 말씀으로 기도하신 후
  So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

45. 이에 제자들에게 오사 이르시되 이제는 자고 쉬라 보라 때가 가까왔으니 인자가 죄인의 손에 팔리우느니라
  Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46. 일어나라 함께 가자 보라 나를 파는 자가 가까이 왔느니라
  Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

47. 말씀하실 때에 열둘 중에 하나인 유다가 왔는데 대제사장들과 백성의 장로들에게서 파송된 큰 무리가 검과 몽치를 가지고 그와 함께 하였더라
  While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.

48. 예수를 파는 자가 그들에게 군호를 짜 가로되 내가 입맞추는 자가 그이니 그를 잡으라 하였는지라
  Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him."

49. 곧 예수께 나아와 랍비여 안녕하시옵니까 하고 입을 맞추니
  Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him.

50. 예수께서 가라사대 친구여 네가 무엇을 하려고 왔는지 행하라 하신대 이에 저희가 나아와 예수께 손을 대어 잡는지라
  Jesus replied, "Friend, do what you came for."Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.

51. 예수와 함께 있던 자 중에 하나가 손을 펴 검을 빼어 대제사장의 종을 쳐 그 귀를 떨어뜨리니
  With that, one of Jesus' companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

52. 이에 예수께서 이르시되 네 검을 도로 집에 꽂으라 검을 가지는 자는 다 검으로 망하느니라
  "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

53. 너는 내가 내 아버지께 구하여 지금 열두 영 더 되는 천사를 보내시게 할 수 없는 줄로 아느냐
  Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

54. 내가 만일 그렇게 하면 이런 일이 있으리라 한 성경이 어떻게 이루어지리요 하시더라
  But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?"

55. 그 때에 예수께서 무리에게 말씀하시되 너희가 강도를 잡는 것같이 검과 몽치를 가지고 나를 잡으러 나왔느냐 내가 날마다 성전에 앉아 가르쳤으되 너희가 나를 잡지 아니하였도다
  At that time Jesus said to the crowd, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me.

56. 그러나 이렇게 된 것은 다 선지자들의 글을 이루려 함이니라 하시더라 이에 제자들이 다 예수를 버리고 도망하니라
  But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.

57. 예수를 잡은 자들이 끌고 대제사장 가야바에게로 가니 거기 서기관과 장로들이 모여 있더라
  Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled.

58. 베드로가 멀찍이 예수를 좇아 대제사장의 집 뜰에까지 가서 그 결국을 보려고 안에 들어가 하속들과 함께 앉았더라
  But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. He entered and sat down with the guards to see the outcome.

59. 대제사장들과 온 공회가 예수를 죽이려고 그를 칠 거짓 증거를 찾으매
  The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death.

60. 거짓 증인이 많이 왔으나 얻지 못하더니 후에 두 사람이 와서
  But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward

61. 가로되 이 사람의 말이 내가 하나님의 성전을 헐고 사흘에 지을 수 있다 하더라 하니
  and declared, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.'"

62. 대제사장이 일어서서 예수께 묻되 아무 대답도 없느냐 이 사람들의 너를 치는 증거가 어떠하뇨 하되
  Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?"

63. 예수께서 잠잠하시거늘 대제사장이 가로되 내가 너로 살아 계신 하나님께 맹세하게 하노니 네가 하나님의 아들 그리스도인지 우리에게 말하라
  But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."

64. 예수께서 가라사대 네가 말하였느니라 그러나 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이 후에 인자가 권능의 우편에 앉은 것과 하늘 구름을 타고 오는 것을 너희가 보리라 하시니
  "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

65. 이에 대제사장이 자기 옷을 찢으며 가로되 저가 참람한 말을 하였으니 어찌 더 증인을 요구하리요 보라 너희가 지금 이 참람한 말을 들었도다
  Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.

66. 생각이 어떠하뇨 대답하여 가로되 저는 사형에 해당하니라 하고
  What do you think?" "He is worthy of death," they answered.

67. 이에 예수의 얼굴에 침 뱉으며 주먹으로 치고 혹은 손바닥으로 때리며
  Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him

68. 가로되 그리스도야 우리에게 선지자 노릇을 하라 너를 친 자가 누구냐 하더라
  and said, "Prophesy to us, Christ. Who hit you?"

69. 베드로가 바깥뜰에 앉았더니 한 비자가 나아와 가로되 너도 갈릴리 사람 예수와 함께 있었도다 하거늘
  Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said.

70. 베드로가 모든 사람 앞에서 부인하여 가로되 나는 네 말하는 것이 무엇인지 알지 못하겠노라 하며
  But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said.

71. 앞문까지 나아가니 다른 비자가 저를 보고 거기 있는 사람들에게 말하되 이 사람은 나사렛 예수와 함께 있었도다 하매
  Then he went out to the gateway, where another girl saw him and said to the people there, "This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth."

72. 베드로가 맹세하고 또 부인하여 가로되 내가 그 사람을 알지 못하노라 하더라
  He denied it again, with an oath: "I don't know the man!"

73. 조금 후에 곁에 섰던 사람들이 나아와 베드로에게 이르되 너도 진실로 그 당이라 네 말소리가 너를 표명한다 하거늘
  After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, "Surely you are one of them, for your accent gives you away."

74. 저가 저주하며 맹세하여 가로되 내가 그 사람을 알지 못하노라 하니 닭이 곧 울더라
  Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, "I don't know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed.

75. 이에 베드로가 예수의 말씀에 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라 하심이 생각나서 밖에 나가서 심히 통곡하니라
  Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.
