신명기 10

1. 그 때에 여호와께서 내게 이르시기를 너는 처음과 같은 두 돌판을 다듬어 가지고 산에 올라 내게로 나아오고 또 나무궤 하나를 만들라
  At that time the LORD said to me, "Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones and come up to me on the mountain. Also make a wooden chest.

2. 네가 깨뜨린 처음 판에 쓴 말을 내가 그 판에 쓰리니 너는 그것을 그 궤에 넣으라 하시기로
  I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Then you are to put them in the chest."

3. 내가 싯딤나무로 궤를 만들고 처음 것과 같은 돌판 둘을 다듬어 손에 들고 산에 오르매
  So I made the ark out of acacia wood and chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.

4. 여호와께서 그 총회 날에 산 위 불 가운데서 너희에게 이르신 십계명을 처음과 같이 그 판에 쓰시고 그것을 내게 주시기로
  The LORD wrote on these tablets what he had written before, the Ten Commandments he had proclaimed to you on the mountain, out of the fire, on the day of the assembly. And the LORD gave them to me.

5. 내가 돌이켜 산에서 내려와서 여호와께서 내게 명하신 대로 그 판을 내가 만든 궤에 넣었더니 지금까지 있느니라
  Then I came back down the mountain and put the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD commanded me, and they are there now.

6. (이스라엘 자손이 브에롯 브네야아간에서 발행하여 모세라에 이르러서는 아론이 거기서 죽고 거기 장사되었고 그 아들 엘르아살이 그를 이어 제사장의 직임을 행하였으며
  (The Israelites traveled from the wells of the Jaakanites to Moserah. There Aaron died and was buried, and Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.

7. 또 거기서 발행하여 굿고다에 이르고 굿고다에서 발행하여 욧바다에 이른즉 그 땅에는 시내가 많았었으며
  From there they traveled to Gudgodah and on to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.

8. 그 때에 여호와께서 레위 지파를 구별하여 여호와의 언약궤를 메이며 여호와 앞에 서서 그를 섬기며 또 여호와의 이름으로 축복하게 하셨고 그 일은 오늘날까지 이르느니라
  At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister and to pronounce blessings in his name, as they still do today.

9. 그러므로 레위는 그 형제 중에 분깃이 없으며 기업이 없고 네 하나님 여호와께서 그에게 말씀하심같이 여호와가 그의 기업이시니라)
  That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their brothers; the LORD is their inheritance, as the LORD your God told them.)

10. 내가 처음과 같이 사십 주야를 산에 유하였고 그 때에도 여호와께서 내 말을 들으사 너를 참아 멸하지 아니하시고
  Now I had stayed on the mountain forty days and nights, as I did the first time, and the LORD listened to me at this time also. It was not his will to destroy you.

11. 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 일어나서 백성 앞서 진행하라 내가 그들에게 주리라고 그 열조에게 맹세한 땅에 그들이 들어가서 그것을 얻으리라 하셨느니라
  "Go," the LORD said to me, "and lead the people on their way, so that they may enter and possess the land that I swore to their fathers to give them."

12. 이스라엘아 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 요구하시는 것이 무엇이냐 곧 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그 모든 도를 행하고 그를 사랑하며 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 섬기고
  And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

13. 내가 오늘날 네 행복을 위하여 네게 명하는 여호와의 명령과 규례를 지킬 것이 아니냐
  and to observe the LORD'S commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

14. 하늘과 모든 하늘의 하늘과 땅과 그 위의 만물은 본래 네 하나님 여호와께 속한 것이로되
  To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.

15. 여호와께서 오직 네 열조를 기뻐하시고 그들을 사랑하사 그 후손 너희를 만민 중에서 택하셨음이 오늘날과 같으니라
  Yet the LORD set his affection on your forefathers and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations, as it is today.

16. 그러므로 너희는 마음에 할례를 행하고 다시는 목을 곧게 하지 말라
  Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.

17. 너희의 하나님 여호와는 신의 신이시며 주의 주시요 크고 능하시며 두려우신 하나님이시라 사람을 외모로 보지 아니하시며 뇌물을 받지 아니하시고
  For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.

18. 고아와 과부를 위하여 신원하시며 나그네를 사랑하사 그에게 식물과 의복을 주시나니
  He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

19. 너희는 나그네를 사랑하라 전에 너희도 애굽 땅에서 나그네 되었었음이니라
  And you are to love those who are aliens, for you yourselves were aliens in Egypt.

20. 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그를 섬기며 그에게 친근히 하고 그 이름으로 맹세하라
  Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.

21. 그는 네 찬송이시요 네 하나님이시라 네가 목도한 바 이같이 크고 두려운 일을 너를 위하여 행하셨느니라
  He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.

22. 애굽에 내려간 네 열조가 겨우 칠십 인이었으나 이제는 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 하늘의 별같이 많게 하셨느니라
  Your forefathers who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.

시편 94

1. 여호와여 보수하시는 하나님이여 보수하시는 하나님이여 빛을 비취소서
  O LORD, the God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth.

2. 세계를 판단하시는 주여 일어나사 교만한 자에게 상당한 형벌을 주소서
  Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

3. 여호와여 악인이 언제까지, 악인이 언제까지 개가를 부르리이까
  How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant?

4. 저희가 지꺼리며 오만히 말을 하오며 죄악을 행하는 자가 다 자긍하나이다
  They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting.

5. 여호와여 저희가 주의 백성을 파쇄하며 주의 기업을 곤고케 하며
  They crush your people, O LORD; they oppress your inheritance.

6. 과부와 나그네를 죽이며 고아를 살해하며
  They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless.

7. 말하기를 여호와가 보지 못하며 야곱의 하나님이 생각지 못하리라 하나이다
  They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed."

8. 백성 중 우준한 자들아 너희는 생각하라 무지한 자들아 너희가 언제나 지혜로울꼬
  Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?

9. 귀를 지으신 자가 듣지 아니하시랴 눈을 만드신 자가 보지 아니하시랴
  Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?

10. 열방을 징벌하시는 자 곧 지식으로 사람을 교훈하시는 자가 징치하지 아니하시랴
  Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?

11. 여호와께서 사람의 생각이 허무함을 아시느니라
  The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.

12. 여호와여 주의 징벌을 당하며 주의 법으로 교훈하심을 받는 자가 복이 있나니
  Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law;

13. 이런 사람에게는 환난의 날에 벗어나게 하사 악인을 위하여 구덩이를 팔 때까지 평안을 주시리이다
  you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.

14. 여호와께서는 그 백성을 버리지 아니하시며 그 기업을 떠나지 아니하시리로다
  For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.

15. 판단이 의로 돌아가리니 마음이 정직한 자가 다 좇으리로다
  Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16. 누가 나를 위하여 일어나서 행악자를 치며 누가 나를 위하여 일어서서 죄악 행하는 자를 칠꼬
  Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

17. 여호와께서 내게 도움이 되지 아니하셨더면 내 혼이 벌써 적막 중에 처하였으리로다
  Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

18. 여호와여 나의 발이 미끄러진다 말할 때에 주의 인자하심이 나를 붙드셨사오며
  When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me.

19. 내 속에 생각이 많을 때에 주의 위안이 내 영혼을 즐겁게 하시나이다
  When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

20. 율례를 빙자하고 잔해를 도모하는 악한 재판장이 어찌 주와 교제하리이까
  Can a corrupt throne be allied with you--one that brings on misery by its decrees?

21. 저희가 모여 의인의 영혼을 치려 하며 무죄자를 정죄하여 피를 흘리려 하나
  They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.

22. 여호와는 나의 산성이시요 나의 하나님은 나의 피할 반석이시라
  But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.

23. 저희 죄악을 저희에게 돌리시며 저희의 악을 인하여 저희를 끊으시리니 여호와 우리 하나님이 저희를 끊으시리로다
  He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 38

1. 그 즈음에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되니 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 나아와 그에게 이르되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 너는 네 집에 유언하라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다
  In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."

2. 히스기야가 얼굴을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기도하여
  Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

3. 가로되 여호와여 구하오니 내가 주의 앞에서 진실과 전심으로 행하며 주의 목전에서 선하게 행한 것을 추억하옵소서 하고 심히 통곡하니
  "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4. 이에 여호와의 말씀이 이사야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah:

5. 너는 가서 히스기야에게 이르기를 네 조상 다윗의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 네 수한에 십오 년을 더하고
  "Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.

6. 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건져내겠고 내가 또 이 성을 보호하리라
  And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.

7. 나 여호와가 말한 것을 네게 이룰 증거로 이 징조를 네게 주리라
  "'This is the LORD'S sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised:

8. 보라 아하스의 일영표에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 뒤로 십 도를 물러가게 하리라 하셨다 하라 하시더니 이에 일영표에 나아갔던 해의 그림자가 십 도를 물러가니라
  I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.'" So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

9. 유다 왕 히스기야가 병들었다가 그 병이 나을 때에 기록한 글이 이러하니라
  A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and recovery:

10. 내가 말하기를 내가 중년에 음부의 문에 들어가고 여년을 빼앗기게 되리라 하였도다
  I said, "In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?"

11. 내가 또 말하기를 내가 다시는 여호와를 뵈옵지 못하리니 생존 세계에서 다시는 여호와를 뵈옵지 못하겠고 내가 세상 거민 중에서 한 사람도 다시는 보지 못하리라 하였도다
  I said, "I will not again see the LORD, the LORD, in the land of the living; no longer will I look on mankind, or be with those who now dwell in this world.

12. 나의 거처는 목자의 장막을 걷음같이 나를 떠나 옮겼고 내가 내 생명을 말기를 직공이 베를 걷어 말음같이 하였도다 주께서 나를 틀에서 끊으시리니 나의 명이 조석간에 마치리이다
  Like a shepherd's tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

13. 내가 아침까지 견디었사오나 주께서 사자같이 나의 모든 뼈를 꺾으시오니 나의 명이 조석간에 마치리이다
  I waited patiently till dawn, but like a lion he broke all my bones; day and night you made an end of me.

14. 나는 제비같이, 학같이 지저귀며 비둘기같이 슬피 울며 나의 눈이 쇠하도록 앙망하나이다 여호와여 내가 압제를 받사오니 나의 중보가 되옵소서
  I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!"

15. 주께서 내게 말씀하시고 또 친히 이루셨사오니 내가 무슨 말씀을 하오리이까 내 영혼의 고통을 인하여 내가 종신토록 각근히 행하리이다
  But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.

16. 주여 사람의 사는 것이 이에 있고 내 심령의 생명도 온전히 거기 있사오니 원컨대 나를 치료하시며 나를 살려 주옵소서
  Lord, by such things men live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live.

17. 보옵소서 내게 큰 고통을 더하신 것은 내게 평안을 주려 하심이라 주께서 나의 영혼을 사랑하사 멸망의 구덩이에서 건지셨고 나의 모든 죄는 주의 등 뒤에 던지셨나이다
  Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.

18. 음부가 주께 사례하지 못하며 사망이 주를 찬양하지 못하며 구덩이에 들어간 자가 주의 신실을 바라지 못하되
  For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

19. 오직 산 자 곧 산 자는 오늘날 내가 하는 것과 같이 주께 감사하며 주의 신실을 아비가 그 자녀에게 알게 하리이다
  The living, the living--they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.

20. 여호와께서 나를 구원하시리니 우리가 종신토록 여호와의 전에서 수금으로 나의 노래를 노래하리로다
  The LORD will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the LORD.

21. 이사야는 이르기를 한 뭉치 무화과를 취하여 종처에 붙이면 왕이 나으리라 하였었고
  Isaiah had said, "Prepare a poultice of figs and apply it to the boil, and he will recover."

22. 히스기야도 말하기를 내가 여호와의 전에 올라갈 징조가 무엇이뇨 하였었더라
  Hezekiah had asked, "What will be the sign that I will go up to the temple of the LORD?"

요한계시록 8

1. 일곱째 인을 떼실 때에 하늘이 반시 동안쯤 고요하더니
  When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

2. 내가 보매 하나님 앞에 시위한 일곱 천사가 있어 일곱 나팔을 받았더라
  And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

3. 또 다른 천사가 와서 제단 곁에 서서 금향로를 가지고 많은 향을 받았으니 이는 모든 성도의 기도들과 합하여 보좌 앞 금단에 드리고자 함이라
  Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne.

4. 향연이 성도의 기도와 함께 천사의 손으로부터 하나님 앞으로 올라가는지라
  The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand.

5. 천사가 향로를 가지고 단 위의 불을 담아다가 땅에 쏟으매 뇌성과 음성과 번개와 지진이 나더라
  Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

6. 일곱 나팔 가진 일곱 천사가 나팔 불기를 예비하더라
  Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

7. 첫째 천사가 나팔을 부니 피 섞인 우박과 불이 나서 땅에 쏟아지매 땅의 삼분의 일이 타서 사위고 수목의 삼분의 일도 타서 사위고 각종 푸른 풀도 타서 사위더라
  The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

8. 둘째 천사가 나팔을 부니 불붙는 큰 산과 같은 것이 바다에 던지우매 바다의 삼분의 일이 피가 되고
  The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood,

9. 바다 가운데 생명 가진 피조물들의 삼분의 일이 죽고 배들의 삼분의 일이 깨어지더라
  a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10. 세째 천사가 나팔을 부니 횃불 같이 타는 큰 별이 하늘에서 떨어져 강들의 삼분의 일과 여러 물샘에 떨어지니
  The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water--

11. 이 별 이름은 쑥이라 물들의 삼분의 일이 쑥이 되매 그 물들이 쓰게 됨을 인하여 많은 사람이 죽더라
  the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

12. 네째 천사가 나팔을 부니 해 삼분의 일과 달 삼분의 일과 별들의 삼분의 일이 침을 받아 그 삼분의 일이 어두워지니 낮 삼분의 일은 비췸이 없고 밤도 그러하더라
  The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

13. 내가 또 보고 들으니 공중에 날아가는 독수리가 큰 소리로 이르되 땅에 거하는 자들에게 화, 화, 화가 있으리로다 이 외에도 세 천사의 불 나팔 소리를 인함이로다 하더라
  As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"
