신명기 12

1. 네 열조의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주셔서 얻게 하신 땅에서 너희가 평생에 지켜 행할 규례와 법도는 이러하니라
  These are the decrees and laws you must be careful to follow in the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess--as long as you live in the land.

2. 너희가 쫓아낼 민족들이 그 신들을 섬기는 곳은 높은 산이든지 작은 산이든지 푸른 나무 아래든지 무론하고 그 모든 곳을 너희가 마땅히 파멸하며
  Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains and on the hills and under every spreading tree where the nations you are dispossessing worship their gods.

3. 그 단을 헐며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 상을 불사르고 또 그 조각한 신상들을 찍어서 그 이름을 그 곳에서 멸하라
  Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their Asherah poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names from those places.

4. 너희 하나님 여호와에게는 너희가 그처럼 행하지 말고
  You must not worship the LORD your God in their way.

5. 오직 너희 하나님 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 너희 모든 지파 중에서 택하신 곳인 그 거하실 곳으로 찾아 나아가서
  But you are to seek the place the LORD your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go;

6. 너희 번제와 너희 희생과 너희의 십일조와 너희 손의 거제와 너희 서원제와 낙헌 예물과 너희 우양의 처음 낳은 것들을 너희는 그리로 가져다가 드리고
  there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, what you have vowed to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.

7. 거기 곧 너희 하나님 여호와 앞에서 먹고 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희 손으로 수고한 일에 복 주심을 인하여 너희와 너희 가족이 즐거워할찌니라
  There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.

8. 우리가 오늘날 여기서는 각기 소견대로 하였거니와 너희가 거기서는 하지 말찌니라
  You are not to do as we do here today, everyone as he sees fit,

9. 너희가 너희 하나님 여호와의 주시는 안식과 기업에 아직은 이르지 못하였거니와
  since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the LORD your God is giving you.

10. 너희가 요단을 건너 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 기업으로 주시는 땅에 거하게 될 때 또는 여호와께서 너희로 너희 사방의 모든 대적을 이기게 하시고 너희에게 안식을 주사 너희로 평안히 거하게 하실 때에
  But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and he will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety.

11. 너희는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 한 곳을 택하실 그곳으로 나의 명하는 것을 모두 가지고 갈찌니 곧 너희 번제와 너희 희생과 너희 십일조와 너희 손의 거제와 너희가 여호와께 서원하는 모든 아름다운 서원물을 가져가고
  Then to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name--there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the LORD.

12. 너희와 너희 자녀와 노비와 함께 너희 하나님 여호와 앞에서 즐거워할 것이요 네 성중에 거하는 레위인과도 그리할찌니 레위인은 너희 중에 분깃이나 기업이 없음이니라
  And there rejoice before the LORD your God, you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levites from your towns, who have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

13. 너는 삼가서 네게 보이는 아무 곳에서든지 번제를 드리지 말고
  Be careful not to sacrifice your burnt offerings anywhere you please.

14. 오직 너희의 한 지파 중에 여호와의 택하실 그곳에서 너는 번제를 드리고 또 내가 네게 명하는 모든 것을 거기서 행할찌니라
  Offer them only at the place the LORD will choose in one of your tribes, and there observe everything I command you.

15. 그러나 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 주신 복을 따라 각 성에서 네 마음에 즐기는 대로 생축을 잡아 그 고기를 먹을 수 있나니 곧 정한 자나 부정한 자를 무론하고 노루나 사슴을 먹음같이 먹으려니와
  Nevertheless, you may slaughter your animals in any of your towns and eat as much of the meat as you want, as if it were gazelle or deer, according to the blessing the LORD your God gives you. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it.

16. 오직 그 피는 먹지 말고 물같이 땅에 쏟을 것이며
  But you must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.

17. 너는 곡식과 포도주와 기름의 십일조와 네 우양의 처음 낳은 것과 너의 서원을 갚는 예물과 너의 낙헌 예물과 네 손의 거제물은 너의 각 성에서 먹지 말고
  You must not eat in your own towns the tithe of your grain and new wine and oil, or the firstborn of your herds and flocks, or whatever you have vowed to give, or your freewill offerings or special gifts.

18. 오직 네 하나님 여호와께서 택하실 곳에서 네 하나님 여호와 앞에서 너는 네 자녀와 노비와 성중에 거하는 레위인과 함께 그것을 먹고 또 네 손으로 수고한 모든 일을 인하여 네 하나님 여호와 앞에서 즐거워하되
  Instead, you are to eat them in the presence of the LORD your God at the place the LORD your God will choose--you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levites from your towns--and you are to rejoice before the LORD your God in everything you put your hand to.

19. 너는 삼가서 네 땅에 거하는 동안에 레위인을 저버리지 말찌니라
  Be careful not to neglect the Levites as long as you live in your land.

20. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 허락하신 대로 네 지경을 넓히신 후에 네 마음에 고기를 먹고자 하여 이르기를 내가 고기를 먹으리라 하면 네가 무릇 마음에 좋아하는 대로 고기를 먹을 수 있으리니
  When the LORD your God has enlarged your territory as he promised you, and you crave meat and say, "I would like some meat," then you may eat as much of it as you want.

21. 만일 네 하나님 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 택하신 곳이 네게서 멀거든 내가 네게 명한 대로 너는 여호와의 주신 우양을 잡아 너의 각 성에서 네가 무릇 마음에 좋아하는 것을 먹되
  If the place where the LORD your God chooses to put his Name is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the LORD has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want.

22. 정한 자나 부정한 자를 무론하고 노루나 사슴을 먹음같이 먹을 수 있거니와
  Eat them as you would gazelle or deer. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat.

23. 오직 크게 삼가서 그 피는 먹지 말라 피는 그 생명인즉 네가 그 생명을 고기와 아울러 먹지 못하리니
  But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat.

24. 너는 그것을 먹지 말고 물같이 땅에 쏟으라
  You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.

25. 너는 피를 먹지 말라 네가 이같이 여호와께서 의롭게 여기시는 일을 행하면 너와 네 후손이 복을 누리리라
  Do not eat it, so that it may go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD.

26. 오직 네 성물과 서원물을 여호와께서 택하신 곳으로 가지고 가라
  But take your consecrated things and whatever you have vowed to give, and go to the place the LORD will choose.

27. 네가 번제를 드릴 때에는 그 고기와 피를 네 하나님 여호와의 단에 드릴 것이요 다른 제 희생을 드릴 때에는 그 피를 네 하나님 여호와의 단 위에 붓고 그 고기는 먹을찌니라
  Present your burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD your God, both the meat and the blood. The blood of your sacrifices must be poured beside the altar of the LORD your God, but you may eat the meat.

28. 내가 네게 명하는 이 모든 말을 너는 듣고 지키라 네 하나님 여호와의 목전에 선과 의를 행하면 너와 네 후손에게 영영히 복이 있으리라
  Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the LORD your God.

29. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네가 들어가서 쫓아낼 그 민족들을 네 앞에서 멸절하시고 너로 그 땅을 얻어 거기 거하게 하실 때에
  The LORD your God will cut off before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land,

30. 너는 스스로 삼가서 네 앞에서 멸망한 그들의 자취를 밟아 올무에 들지 말라 또 그들의 신을 탐구하여 이르기를 이 민족들은 그 신들을 어떻게 위하였는고 나도 그와 같이 하겠다 하지 말라
  and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, "How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same."

31. 네 하나님 여호와께는 네가 그와 같이 행하지 못할 것이라 그들은 여호와의 꺼리시며 가증히 여기시는 일을 그 신들에게 행하여 심지어 그 자녀를 불살라 그 신들에게 드렸느니라
  You must not worship the LORD your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the LORD hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.

32. 내가 너희에게 명하는 이 모든 말을 너희는 지켜 행하고 그것에 가감하지 말찌니라
  See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.

시편 97-98

1. 여호와께서 통치하시나니 땅은 즐거워하며 허다한 섬은 기뻐할찌어다
  The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.

2. 구름과 흑암이 그에게 둘렸고 의와 공평이 그 보좌의 기초로다
  Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3. 불이 그 앞에서 발하여 사면의 대적을 사르는도다
  Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.

4. 그의 번개가 세계를 비추니 땅이 보고 떨었도다
  His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.

5. 산들이 여호와의 앞 곧 온 땅의 주 앞에서 밀같이 녹았도다
  The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

6. 하늘이 그 의를 선포하니 모든 백성이 그 영광을 보았도다
  The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

7. 조각 신상을 섬기며 허무한 것으로 자긍하는 자는 다 수치를 당할 것이라 너희 신들아 여호와께 경배할찌어다
  All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols--worship him, all you gods!

8. 여호와여 주의 판단을 시온이 듣고 기뻐하며 유다의 딸들이 인하여 즐거워하였나이다
  Zion hears and rejoices and the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments, O LORD.

9. 여호와여 주는 온 땅 위에 지존하시고 모든 신 위에 초월하시니이다
  For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.

10. 여호와를 사랑하는 너희여 악을 미워하라 저가 그 성도의 영혼을 보전하사 악인의 손에서 건지시느니라
  Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11. 의인을 위하여 빛을 뿌리고 마음이 정직한 자를 위하여 기쁨을 뿌렸도다
  Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.

12. 의인이여 너희는 여호와로 인하여 기뻐하며 그 거룩한 기념에 감사할찌어다
  Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

1. 새 노래로 여호와께 찬송하라 대저 기이한 일을 행하사 그 오른손과 거룩한 팔로 자기를 위하여 구원을 베푸셨도다
  A psalm. Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

2. 여호와께서 그 구원을 알게 하시며 그 의를 열방의 목전에 명백히 나타내셨도다
  The LORD has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

3. 저가 이스라엘 집에 향하신 인자와 성실을 기억하셨으므로 땅의 모든 끝이 우리 하나님의 구원을 보았도다
  He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4. 온 땅이여 여호와께 즐거이 소리할찌어다 소리를 발하여 즐거이 노래하며 찬송할찌어다
  Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

5. 수금으로 여호와를 찬양하라 수금과 음성으로 찬양할찌어다
  make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,

6. 나팔과 호각으로 왕 여호와 앞에 즐거이 소리할찌어다
  with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn--shout for joy before the LORD, the King.

7. 바다와 거기 충만한 것과 세계와 그 중에 거하는 자는 다 외칠찌어다
  Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

8. 여호와 앞에서 큰 물이 박수하며 산악이 함께 즐거이 노래할찌어다
  Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;

9. 저가 땅을 판단하려 임하실 것임이로다 저가 의로 세계를 판단하시며 공평으로 그 백성을 판단하시리로다
  let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 40

1. 너희 하나님이 가라사대 너희는 위로하라 내 백성을 위로하라
  Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.

2. 너희는 정다이 예루살렘에 말하며 그것에게 외쳐 고하라 그 복역의 때가 끝났고 그 죄악의 사함을 입었느니라 그 모든 죄를 인하여 여호와의 손에서 배나 받았느니라 할찌니라
  Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.

3. 외치는 자의 소리여 가로되 너희는 광야에서 여호와의 길을 예비하라 사막에서 우리 하나님의 대로를 평탄케 하라
  A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.

4. 골짜기마다 돋우어지며 산마다, 작은 산마다 낮아지며 고르지 않은 곳이 평탄케 되며 험한 곳이 평지가 될 것이요
  Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.

5. 여호와의 영광이 나타나고 모든 육체가 그것을 함께 보리라 대저 여호와의 입이 말씀하셨느니라
  And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

6. 말하는 자의 소리여 가로되 외치라 대답하되 내가 무엇이라 외치리이까 가로되 모든 육체는 풀이요 그 모든 아름다움은 들의 꽃같으니
  A voice says, "Cry out." And I said, "What shall I cry?" "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.

7. 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시듦은 여호와의 기운이 그 위에 붊이라 이 백성은 실로 풀이로다
  The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass.

8. 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영영히 서리라 하라
  The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."

9. 아름다운 소식을 시온에 전하는 자여 너는 높은 산에 오르라 아름다운 소식을 예루살렘에 전하는 자여 너는 힘써 소리를 높이라 두려워 말고 소리를 높여 유다의 성읍들에 이르기를 너희 하나님을 보라 하라
  You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, "Here is your God!"

10. 보라 주 여호와께서 장차 강한 자로 임하실 것이요 친히 그 팔로 다스리실 것이라 보라 상급이 그에게 있고 보응이 그 앞에 있으며
  See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.

11. 그는 목자 같이 양무리를 먹이시며 어린 양을 그 팔로 모아 품에 안으시며 젖먹이는 암컷들을 온순히 인도하시리로다
  He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

12. 누가 손바닥으로 바다 물을 헤아렸으며 뼘으로 하늘을 재었으며 땅의 티끌을 되에 담아 보았으며 명칭으로 산들을, 간칭으로 작은 산들을 달아 보았으랴
  Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?

13. 누가 여호와의 신을 지도하였으며 그의 모사가 되어 그를 가르쳤으랴
  Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor?

14. 그가 누구로 더불어 의논하셨으며 누가 그를 교훈하였으며 그에게 공평의 도로 가르쳤으며 지식을 가르쳤으며 통달의 도를 보여 주었느뇨
  Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding?

15. 보라 그에게는 열방은 통의 한 방울 물 같고 저울의 적은 티끌 같으며 섬들은 떠오르는 먼지 같으니
  Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

16. 레바논 짐승들은 번제 소용에도 부족하겠고 그 삼림은 그 화목 소용에도 부족할 것이라
  Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings.

17. 그 앞에는 모든 열방이 아무것도 아니라 그는 그들을 없는 것같이, 빈 것같이 여기시느니라
  Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.

18. 그런즉 너희가 하나님을 누구와 같다 하겠으며 무슨 형상에 비기겠느냐
  To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to?

19. 우상은 장인이 부어 만들었고 장색이 금으로 입혔고 또 위하여 은사슬을 만든 것이니라
  As for an idol, a craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it.

20. 궁핍하여 이런 것을 드리지 못하는 자는 썩지 않는 나무를 택하고 공교한 장인을 구하여 우상을 만들어서 흔들리지 않도록 세우느니라
  A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple.

21. 너희가 알지 못하였느냐 너희가 듣지 못하였느냐 태초부터 너희에게 전하지 아니하였느냐 땅의 기초가 창조될 때부터 너희가 깨닫지 못하였느냐
  Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?

22. 그는 땅 위 궁창에 앉으시나니 땅의 거민들은 메뚜기 같으니라 그가 하늘을 차일같이 펴셨으며 거할 천막같이 베푸셨고
  He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

23. 귀인들을 폐하시며 세상의 사사들을 헛되게 하시나니
  He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.

24. 그들은 겨우 심기웠고 겨우 뿌리웠고 그 줄기가 겨우 땅에 뿌리를 박자 곧 하나님의 부심을 받고 말라 회리바람에 불려 가는 초개 같도다
  No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.

25. 거룩하신 자가 가라사대 그런즉 너희가 나를 누구에게 비기며 나로 그와 동등이 되게 하겠느냐 하시느니라
  "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.

26. 너희는 눈을 높이 들어 누가 이 모든 것을 창조하였나 보라 주께서는 수효대로 만상을 이끌어 내시고 각각 그 이름을 부르시나니 그의 권세가 크고 그의 능력이 강하므로 하나도 빠짐이 없느니라
  Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

27. 야곱아 네가 어찌하여 말하며 이스라엘아 네가 어찌하여 이르기를 내 사정은 여호와께 숨겨졌으며 원통한 것은 내 하나님에게서 수리하심을 받지 못한다 하느냐
  Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"?

28. 너는 알지 못하였느냐 듣지 못하였느냐 영원하신 하나님 여호와, 땅 끝까지 창조하신 자는 피곤치 아니하시며 곤비치 아니하시며 명철이 한이 없으시며
  Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

29. 피곤한 자에게는 능력을 주시며 무능한 자에게는 힘을 더하시나니
  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

30. 소년이라도 피곤하며 곤비하며 장정이라도 넘어지며 자빠지되
  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

31. 오직 여호와를 앙망하는 자는 새 힘을 얻으리니 독수리의 날개 치며 올라감 같을 것이요 달음박질하여도 곤비치 아니하겠고 걸어가도 피곤치 아니하리로다
  but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

요한계시록 10

1. 내가 또 보니 힘센 다른 천사가 구름을 입고 하늘에서 내려오는데 그 머리 위에 무지개가 있고 그 얼굴은 해 같고 그 발은 불기둥 같으며
  Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.

2. 그 손에 펴놓인 작은 책을 들고 그 오른발은 바다를 밟고 왼발은 땅을 밟고
  He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

3. 사자의 부르짖는 것같이 큰 소리로 외치니 외칠 때에 일곱 우뢰가 그 소리를 발하더라
  and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke.

4. 일곱 우뢰가 발할 때에 내가 기록하려고 하다가 곧 들으니 하늘에서 소리나서 말하기를 일곱 우뢰가 발한 것을 인봉하고 기록하지 말라 하더라
  And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down."

5. 내가 본 바 바다와 땅을 밟고 섰는 천사가 하늘을 향하여 오른손을 들고
  Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven.

6. 세세토록 살아 계신 자 곧 하늘과 그 가운데 있는 물건이며 땅과 그 가운데 있는 물건이며 바다와 그 가운데 있는 물건을 창조하신 이를 가리켜 맹세하여 가로되 지체하지 아니하리니
  And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay!

7. 일곱째 천사가 소리내는 날 그 나팔을 불게 될 때에 하나님의 비밀이 그 종 선지자들에게 전하신 복음과 같이 이루리라
  But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."

8. 하늘에서 나서 내게 들리던 음성이 또 내게 말하여 가로되 네가 가서 바다와 땅을 밟고 섰는 천사의 손에 펴놓인 책을 가지라 하기로
  Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."

9. 내가 천사에게 나아가 작은 책을 달라 한즉 천사가 가로되 갖다 먹어 버리라 네 배에는 쓰나 네 입에는 꿀같이 달리라 하거늘
  So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey."

10. 내가 천사의 손에서 작은 책을 갖다 먹어 버리니 내 입에는 꿀같이 다나 먹은 후에 내 배에서는 쓰게 되더라
  I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.

11. 저가 내게 말하기를 네가 많은 백성과 나라와 방언과 임금에게 다시 예언하여야 하리라 하더라
  Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."
