신명기 7

1. 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 인도하사 네가 가서 얻을 땅으로 들이시고 네 앞에서 여러 민족 헷 족속과 기르가스 족속과 아모리 족속과 가나안 족속과 브리스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속 곧 너보다 많고 힘이 있는 일곱 족속을 쫓아내실 때에
  When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations--the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you--

2. 네 하나님 여호와께서 그들을 네게 붙여 너로 치게 하시리니 그 때에 너는 그들을 진멸할 것이라 그들과 무슨 언약도 말 것이요 그들을 불쌍히 여기지도 말 것이며
  and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

3. 또 그들과 혼인하지 말찌니 네 딸을 그 아들에게 주지 말 것이요 그 딸로 네 며느리를 삼지 말것은
  Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,

4. 그가 네 아들을 유혹하여 그로 여호와를 떠나고 다른 신들을 섬기게 하므로 여호와께서 너희에게 진노하사 갑자기 너희를 멸하실 것임이니라
  for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the LORD'S anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

5. 오직 너희가 그들에게 행할 것은 이러하니 그들의 단을 헐며 주상을 깨뜨리며 아세라 목상을 찍으며 조각한 우상들을 불사를 것이니라
  This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles and burn their idols in the fire.

6. 너는 여호와 네 하나님의 성민이라 네 하나님 여호와께서 지상 만민 중에서 너를 자기 기업의 백성으로 택하셨나니
  For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

7. 여호와께서 너희를 기뻐하시고 너희를 택하심은 너희가 다른 민족보다 수효가 많은 연고가 아니라 너희는 모든 민족 중에 가장 적으니라
  The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.

8. 여호와께서 다만 너희를 사랑하심을 인하여, 또는 너희 열조에게 하신 맹세를 지키려 하심을 인하여 자기의 권능의 손으로 너희를 인도하여 내시되 너희를 그 종 되었던 집에서 애굽 왕 바로의 손에서 속량하셨나니
  But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9. 그런즉 너는 알라 오직 네 하나님 여호와는 하나님이시요 신실하신 하나님이시라 그를 사랑하고 그 계명을 지키는 자에게는 천 대까지 그 언약을 이행하시며 인애를 베푸시되
  Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

10. 그를 미워하는 자에게는 당장에 보응하여 멸하시나니 여호와는 자기를 미워하는 자에게 지체하지 아니하시고 당장에 그에게 보응하시느니라
  But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

11. 그런즉 너는 오늘날 내가 네게 명하는 명령과 규례와 법도를 지켜 행할찌니라
  Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today.

12. 너희가 이 모든 법도를 듣고 지켜 행하면 네 하나님 여호와께서 네 열조에게 맹세하신 언약을 지켜 네게 인애를 베푸실 것이라
  If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers.

13. 곧 너를 사랑하시고 복을 주사 너로 번성케 하시되 네게 주리라고 네 열조에게 맹세하신 땅에서 네 소생에게 은혜를 베푸시며 네 토지 소산과 곡식과 포도주와 기름을 풍성케 하시고 네 소와 양을 번식케 하시리니
  He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land--your grain, new wine and oil--the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land that he swore to your forefathers to give you.

14. 네가 복을 받음이 만민보다 우승하여 너희 중의 남녀와 너희 짐승의 암수에 생육하지 못함이 없을 것이며
  You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor any of your livestock without young.

15. 여호와께서 또 모든 질병을 네게서 멀리하사 너희가 아는 바 그 애굽의 악질이 네게 임하지 않게 하시고 너를 미워하는 모든 자에게 임하게 하실 것이라
  The LORD will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you.

16. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 붙이신 모든 민족을 네 눈이 긍휼히 보지 말고 진멸하고 그 신을 섬기지 말라 그것이 네게 올무가 되리라
  You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.

17. 네가 혹시 심중에 이르기를 이 민족들이 나보다 많으니 내가 어찌 그를 쫓아낼 수 있으리요 하리라마는
  You may say to yourselves, "These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?"

18. 그들을 두려워 말고 네 하나님 여호와께서 바로와 온 애굽에 행하신 것을 잘 기억하되
  But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.

19. 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 인도하여 내실 때에 네가 목도한 큰 시험과 이적과 기사와 강한 손과 편 팔을 기억하라 그와 같이 네 하나님 여호와께서 네가 두려워하는 모든 민족에게 행하실 것이요
  You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the miraculous signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.

20. 네 하나님 여호와께서 또 왕벌을 그들 중에 보내어 그들의 남은 자와 너를 피하여 숨은 자를 멸하시리니
  Moreover, the LORD your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished.

21. 너는 그들을 두려워 말라 너희 하나님 여호와 곧 크고 두려운 하나님이 너희 중에 계심이니라
  Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.

22. 네 하나님 여호와께서 이 민족들을 네 앞에서 점점 쫓아내시리니 너는 그들을 급히 멸하지 말라 두렵건대 들짐승이 번성하여 너를 해할까 하노라
  The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.

23. 네 하나님 여호와께서 그들을 네게 붙이시고 그들을 크게 요란케 하여 필경은 진멸하시고
  But the LORD your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed.

24. 그들의 왕들을 네 손에 붙이시리니 너는 그 이름을 천하에서 제하여 버리라 너를 당할 자가 없이 네가 필경은 그들을 진멸하리라
  He will give their kings into your hand, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand up against you; you will destroy them.

25. 너는 그들의 조각한 신상들을 불사르고 그것에 입힌 은이나 금을 탐내지 말며 취하지 말라 두렵건대 네가 그것으로 인하여 올무에 들까 하노니 이는 네 하나님 여호와의 가증히 여기시는 것임이니라
  The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the LORD your God.

26. 너는 가증한 것을 네 집에 들이지 말라 너도 그와 같이 진멸당할 것이 될까 하노라 너는 그것을 극히 꺼리며 심히 미워하라 그것은 진멸당할 것임이니라
  Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Utterly abhor and detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.

시편 90

1. 주여 주는 대대에 우리의 거처가 되셨나이다
  A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.

2. 산이 생기기 전, 땅과 세계도 주께서 조성하시기 전 곧 영원부터 영원까지 주는 하나님이시니이다
  Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

3. 주께서 사람을 티끌로 돌아가게 하시고 말씀하시기를 너희 인생들은 돌아가라 하셨사오니
  You turn men back to dust, saying, "Return to dust, O sons of men."

4. 주의 목전에는 천 년이 지나간 어제 같으며 밤의 한 경점 같을 뿐임이니이다
  For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.

5. 주께서 저희를 홍수처럼 쓸어 가시나이다 저희는 잠간 자는것 같으며 아침에 돋는 풀 같으니이다
  You sweep men away in the sleep of death; they are like the new grass of the morning--

6. 풀은 아침에 꽃이 피어 자라다가 저녁에는 벤 바 되어 마르나이다
  though in the morning it springs up new, by evening it is dry and withered.

7. 우리는 주의 노에 소멸되며 주의 분내심에 놀라나이다
  We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation.

8. 주께서 우리의 죄악을 주의 앞에 놓으시며 우리의 은밀한 죄를 주의 얼굴 빛 가운데 두셨사오니
  You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

9. 우리의 모든 날이 주의 분노 중에 지나가며 우리의 평생이 일식간에 다하였나이다
  All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.

10. 우리의 년수가 칠십이요 강건하면 팔십이라도 그 년수의 자랑은 수고와 슬픔 뿐이요 신속히 가니 우리가 날아가나이다
  The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

11. 누가 주의 노의 능력을 알며 누가 주를 두려워하여야 할 대로 주의 진노를 알리이까
  Who knows the power of your anger? For your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you.

12. 우리에게 우리 날 계수함을 가르치사 지혜의 마음을 얻게 하소서
  Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13. 여호와여 돌아오소서 언제까지니이까 주의 종들을 긍휼히 여기소서
  Relent, O LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants.

14. 아침에 주의 인자로 우리를 만족케 하사 우리 평생에 즐겁고 기쁘게 하소서
  Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

15. 우리를 곤고케 하신 날수대로와 우리의 화를 당한 년수대로 기쁘게 하소서
  Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.

16. 주의 행사를 주의 종들에게 나타내시며 주의 영광을 저희 자손에게 나타내소서
  May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.

17. 주 우리 하나님의 은총을 우리에게 임하게 하사 우리 손의 행사를 우리에게 견고케 하소서 우리 손의 행사를 견고케 하소서
  May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us--yes, establish the work of our hands.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 35

1. 광야와 메마른 땅이 기뻐하며 사막이 백합화같이 피어 즐거워하며
  The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus,

2. 무성하게 피어 기쁜 노래로 즐거워하며 레바논의 영광과 갈멜과 사론의 아름다움을 얻을 것이라 그것들이 여호와의 영광 곧 우리 하나님의 아름다움을 보리로다
  it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

3. 너희는 약한 손을 강하게 하여 주며 떨리는 무릎을 굳게 하여 주며
  Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;

4. 겁내는 자에게 이르기를 너는 굳세게 하라, 두려워 말라, 보라 너희 하나님이 오사 보수하시며 보복하여 주실 것이라 그가 오사 너희를 구하시리라 하라
  say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

5. 그 때에 소경의 눈이 밝을 것이며 귀머거리의 귀가 열릴 것이며
  Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

6. 그 때에 저는 자는 사슴같이 뛸 것이며 벙어리의 혀는 노래하리니 이는 광야에서 물이 솟겠고 사막에서 시내가 흐를 것임이라
  Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

7. 뜨거운 사막이 변하여 못이 될 것이며 메마른 땅이 변하여 원천이 될 것이며 시랑의 눕던 곳에 풀과 갈대와 부들이 날 것이며
  The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.

8. 거기 대로가 있어 그 길을 거룩한 길이라 일컫는 바 되리니 깨끗지 못한 자는 지나지 못하겠고 오직 구속함을 입은 자들을 위하여 있게 된 것이라 우매한 행인은 그 길을 범치 못할 것이며
  And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.

9. 거기는 사자가 없고 사나운 짐승이 그리로 올라가지 아니하므로 그것을 만나지 못하겠고 오직 구속함을 얻은 자만 그리로 행할 것이며
  No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,

10. 여호와의 속량함을 얻은 자들이 돌아오되 노래하며 시온에 이르러 그 머리 위에 영영한 희락을 띠고 기쁨과 즐거움을 얻으리니 슬픔과 탄식이 달아나리로다
  and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

요한계시록 5

1. 내가 보매 보좌에 앉으신 이의 오른손에 책이 있으니 안팎으로 썼고 일곱 인으로 봉하였더라
  Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.

2. 또 보매 힘있는 천사가 큰 음성으로 외치기를 누가 책을 펴며 그 인을 떼기에 합당하냐 하니
  And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?"

3. 하늘 위에나 땅 위에나 땅 아래에 능히 책을 펴거나 보거나 할 이가 없더라
  But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.

4. 이 책을 펴거나 보거나 하기에 합당한 자가 보이지 않기로 내가 크게 울었더니
  I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.

5. 장로 중에 하나가 내게 말하되 울지 말라 유대 지파의 사자 다윗의 뿌리가 이기었으니 이 책과 그 일곱 인을 떼시리라 하더라
  Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."

6. 내가 또 보니 보좌와 네 생물과 장로들 사이에 어린 양이 섰는데 일찍 죽임을 당한 것 같더라 일곱 뿔과 일곱 눈이 있으니 이 눈은 온 땅에 보내심을 입은 하나님의 일곱 영이더라
  Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

7. 어린 양이 나아와서 보좌에 앉으신 이의 오른손에서 책을 취하시니라
  He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

8. 책을 취하시매 네 생물과 이십사 장로들이 어린 양 앞에 엎드려 각각 거문고와 향이 가득한 금대접을 가졌으니 이 향은 성도의 기도들이라
  And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9. 새 노래를 노래하여 가로되 책을 가지시고 그 인봉을 떼기에 합당하시도다 일찍 죽임을 당하사 각 족속과 방언과 백성과 나라 가운데서 사람들을 피로 사서 하나님께 드리시고
  And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

10. 저희로 우리 하나님 앞에서 나라와 제사장을 삼으셨으니 저희가 땅에서 왕 노릇 하리로다 하더라
  You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

11. 내가 또 보고 들으매 보좌와 생물들과 장로들을 둘러선 많은 천사의 음성이 있으니 그 수가 만만이요 천천이라
  Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.

12. 큰 음성으로 가로되 죽임을 당하신 어린 양이 능력과 부와 지혜와 힘과 존귀와 영광과 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하도다 하더라
  In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"

13. 내가 또 들으니 하늘 위에와 땅 위에와 땅 아래와 바다 위에와 또 그 가운데 모든 만물이 가로되 보좌에 앉으신 이와 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 능력을 세세토록 돌릴찌어다 하니
  Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"

14. 네 생물이 가로되 아멘 하고 장로들은 엎드려 경배하더라
  The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
