신명기 6

1. 이는 곧 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 가르치라 명하신 바 명령과 규례와 법도라 너희가 건너가서 얻을 땅에서 행할 것이니
  These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,

2. 곧 너와 네 아들과 네 손자로 평생에 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하며 내가 너희에게 명한 그 모든 규례와 명령을 지키게 하기 위한 것이며 또 네 날을 장구케 하기 위한 것이라
  so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.

3. 이스라엘아 듣고 삼가 그것을 행하라 그리하면 네가 복을 얻고 네 열조의 하나님 여호와께서 네게 허락하심같이 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에서 너의 수효가 심히 번성하리라
  Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.

4. 이스라엘아 들으라 우리 하나님 여호와는 오직 하나인 여호와시니
  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

5. 너는 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하고 힘을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하라
  Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

6. 오늘날 내가 네게 명하는 이 말씀을 너는 마음에 새기고
  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.

7. 네 자녀에게 부지런히 가르치며 집에 앉았을 때에든지 길에 행할 때에든지 누웠을 때에든지 일어날 때에든지 이 말씀을 강론할 것이며
  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

8. 너는 또 그것을 네 손목에 매어 기호를 삼으며 네 미간에 붙여 표를 삼고
  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

9. 또 네 집 문설주와 바깥 문에 기록할찌니라
  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

10. 네 하나님 여호와께서 네 열조 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱을 향하여 네게 주리라 맹세하신 땅으로 너로 들어가게 하시고 네가 건축하지 아니한 크고 아름다운 성읍을 얻게 하시며
  When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you--a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,

11. 네가 채우지 아니한 아름다운 물건이 가득한 집을 얻게 하시며 네가 파지 아니한 우물을 얻게 하시며 네가 심지 아니한 포도원과 감람나무를 얻게 하사 너로 배불리 먹게 하실 때에
  houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied,

12. 너는 조심하여 너를 애굽 땅 종 되었던 집에서 인도하여 내신 여호와를 잊지 말고
  be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

13. 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하며 섬기며 그 이름으로 맹세할 것이니라
  Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.

14. 너희는 다른 신들 곧 네 사면에 있는 백성의 신들을 좇지 말라
  Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;

15. 너희 중에 계신 너희 하나님 여호와는 질투하시는 하나님이신즉 너희 하나님 여호와께서 네게 진노하사 너를 지면에서 멸절시키실까 두려워하노라
  for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

16. 너희가 맛사에서 시험한 것같이 너희의 하나님 여호와를 시험하지 말고
  Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah.

17. 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 너희에게 명하신 명령과 증거하신 것과 규례를 삼가 지키며
  Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.

18. 여호와의 보시기에 정직하고 선량한 일을 행하라 그리하면 네가 복을 얻고 여호와께서 네 열조에게 맹세하사 네 대적을 몰수히 네 앞에서 쫓아내리라 하신 아름다운 땅을 들어가서 얻으리니 여호와의 말씀과 같으리라
  Do what is right and good in the LORD'S sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers,

19. 18절과 같음
  thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said.

20. 후일에 네 아들이 네게 묻기를 우리 하나님 여호와의 명하신 증거와 말씀과 규례와 법도가 무슨 뜻이뇨 하거든
  In the future, when your son asks you, "What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?"

21. 너는 네 아들에게 이르기를 우리가 옛적에 애굽에서 바로의 종이 되었더니 여호와께서 권능의 손으로 우리를 애굽에서 인도하여 내셨나니
  tell him: "We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

22. 곧 여호와께서 우리의 목전에서 크고 두려운 이적과 기사를 애굽과 바로와 그 온 집에 베푸시고
  Before our eyes the LORD sent miraculous signs and wonders--great and terrible--upon Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household.

23. 우리 열조에게 맹세하신 땅으로 우리에게 주어 들어가게 하시려고 우리를 거기서 인도하여 내시고
  But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land that he promised on oath to our forefathers.

24. 여호와께서 우리에게 이 모든 규례를 지키라 명하셨으니 이는 우리로 우리 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 항상 복을 누리게 하기 위하심이며 또 여호와께서 우리로 오늘날과 같이 생활하게 하려 하심이라
  The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.

25. 우리가 그 명하신대로 이 모든 명령을 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 삼가 지키면 그것이 곧 우리의 의로움이니라 할찌니라
  And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness."

시편 89

1. 내가 여호와의 인자하심을 영원히 노래하며 주의 성실하심을 내 입으로 대대에 알게 하리이다
  A maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the LORD'S great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

2. 내가 말하기를 인자하심을 영원히 세우시며 주의 성실하심을 하늘에서 견고히 하시리라 하였나이다
  I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

3. 주께서 이르시되 내가 나의 택한 자와 언약을 맺으며 내 종 다윗에게 맹세하기를
  You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,

4. 내가 네 자손을 영원히 견고히 하며 네 위를 대대에 세우리라 하였다 하셨나이다 (셀라)
  'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.'" Selah

5. 여호와여 주의 기사를 하늘이 찬양할 것이요 주의 성실도 거룩한 자의 회중에서 찬양하리이다
  The heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.

6. 대저 궁창에서 능히 여호와와 비교할 자 누구며 권능 있는 자 중에 여호와와 같은 자 누구리이까
  For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?

7. 하나님은 거룩한 자의 회중에서 심히 엄위하시오며 둘러 있는 모든 자 위에 더욱 두려워할 자시니이다
  In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.

8. 여호와 만군의 하나님이여 주와 같이 능한 자 누구리이까 여호와여 주의 성실하심이 주를 둘렀나이다
  O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

9. 주께서 바다의 흉용함을 다스리시며 그 파도가 일어날 때에 평정케 하시나이다
  You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.

10. 주께서 라합을 살륙당한 자같이 파쇄하시고 주의 원수를 주의 능력의 팔로 흩으셨나이다
  You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

11. 하늘이 주의 것이요 땅도 주의 것이라 세계와 그 중에 충만한 것을 주께서 건설하셨나이다
  The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it.

12. 남북을 주께서 창조하셨으니 다볼과 헤르몬이 주의 이름을 인하여 즐거워하나이다
  You created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.

13. 주의 팔에 능력이 있사오며 주의 손은 강하고 주의 오른손은 높으시니이다
  Your arm is endued with power; your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.

14. 의와 공의가 주의 보좌의 기초라 인자함과 진실함이 주를 앞서 행하나이다
  Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.

15. 즐거운 소리를 아는 백성은 유복한 자라 여호와여 저희가 주의 얼굴 빛에 다니며
  Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.

16. 종일 주의 이름으로 기뻐하며 주의 의로 인하여 높아지오니
  They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness.

17. 주는 저희 힘의 영광이심이라 우리 뿔이 주의 은총으로 높아지오리니
  For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.

18. 우리 방패는 여호와께 속하였고 우리 왕은 이스라엘의 거룩한 자에게 속하였음이니이다
  Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.

19. 주께서 이상 중에 주의 성도에게 말씀하시기를 내가 돕는 힘을 능력 있는 자에게 더하며 백성 중에서 택한 자를 높였으되
  Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: "I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the people.

20. 내가 내 종 다윗을 찾아 나의 거룩한 기름으로 부었도다
  I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.

21. 내 손이 저와 함께 하여 견고히 하고 내 팔이 그를 힘이 있게 하리로다
  My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.

22. 원수가 저에게서 강탈치 못하며 악한 자가 저를 곤고케 못하리로다
  No enemy will subject him to tribute; no wicked man will oppress him.

23. 내가 저의 앞에서 그 대적을 박멸하며 저를 한하는 자를 치려니와
  I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.

24. 나의 성실함과 인자함이 저와 함께 하리니 내 이름을 인하여 그 뿔이 높아지리로다
  My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.

25. 내가 또 그 손을 바다 위에 세우며 오른손을 강들 위에 세우리니
  I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.

26. 저가 내게 부르기를 주는 나의 아버지시요 나의 하나님이시요 나의 구원의 바위시라 하리로다
  He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.'

27. 내가 또 저로 장자를 삼고 세계 열왕의 으뜸이 되게 하며
  I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.

28. 저를 위하여 나의 인자함을 영구히 지키고 저로 더불어 한 나의 언약을 굳게 세우며
  I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail.

29. 또 그 후손을 영구케 하여 그 위를 하늘의 날과 같게 하리로다
  I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.

30. 만일 그 자손이 내 법을 버리며 내 규례대로 행치 아니하며
  "If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,

31. 내 율례를 파하며 내 계명을 지키지 아니하면
  if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,

32. 내가 지팡이로 저희 범과를 다스리며 채찍으로 저희 죄악을 징책하리로다
  I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;

33. 그러나 나의 인자함을 그에게서 다 거두지 아니하며 나의 성실함도 폐하지 아니하며
  but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.

34. 내 언약을 파하지 아니하며 내 입술에서 낸 것도 변치 아니하리로다
  I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.

35. 내가 나의 거룩함으로 한번 맹세하였은즉 다윗에게 거짓을 아니할 것이라
  Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness--and I will not lie to David--

36. 그 후손이 장구하고 그 위는 해같이 내 앞에 항상 있으며
  that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;

37. 또 궁창의 확실한 증인 달같이 영원히 견고케 되리라 하셨도다 (셀라)
  it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky." Selah

38. 그러나 주께서 주의 기름 부음받은 자를 노하사 물리쳐 버리셨으며
  But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.

39. 주의 종의 언약을 미워하사 그 관을 땅에 던져 욕되게 하셨으며
  You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.

40. 저의 모든 울타리를 파괴하시며 그 보장을 훼파하셨으므로
  You have broken through all his walls and reduced his strongholds to ruins.

41. 길로 지나는 자들에게 다 탈취를 당하며 그 이웃에게 욕을 당하나이다
  All who pass by have plundered him; he has become the scorn of his neighbors.

42. 주께서 저의 대적의 오른손을 높이시고 저희 모든 원수로 기쁘게 하셨으며
  You have exalted the right hand of his foes; you have made all his enemies rejoice.

43. 저의 칼날을 둔하게 하사 저로 전장에 서지 못하게 하셨으며
  You have turned back the edge of his sword and have not supported him in battle.

44. 저의 영광을 그치게 하시고 그 위를 땅에 엎으셨으며
  You have put an end to his splendor and cast his throne to the ground.

45. 그 소년의 날을 단촉케 하시고 저를 수치로 덮으셨나이다 (셀라)
  You have cut short the days of his youth; you have covered him with a mantle of shame. Selah

46. 여호와여 언제까지니이까 스스로 영원히 숨기시리이까 주의 노가 언제까지 불붙듯 하시겠나이까
  How long, O LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?

47. 나의 때가 얼마나 단촉한지 기억하소서 주께서 모든 인생을 어찌 그리 허무하게 창조하셨는지요
  Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created all men!

48. 누가 살아서 죽음을 보지 아니하고 그 영혼을 음부의 권세에서 건지리이까 (셀라)
  What man can live and not see death, or save himself from the power of the grave? Selah

49. 주여 주의 성실하심으로 다윗에게 맹세하신 이전 인자하심이 어디 있나이까
  O Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?

50. 주는 주의 종들의 받은 훼방을 기억하소서 유력한 모든 민족의 훼방이 내 품에 있사오니
  Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,

51. 여호와여 이 훼방은 주의 원수가 주의 기름 부음받은 자의 행동을 훼방한 것이로소이다
  the taunts with which your enemies have mocked, O LORD, with which they have mocked every step of your anointed one.

52. 여호와를 영원히 찬송할찌어다 아멘 아멘
  Praise be to the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 34

1. 열국이여 너희는 나아와 들을찌어다 민족들이여 귀를 기울일찌어다 땅과 땅에 충만한 것, 세계와 세계에서 나는 모든 것이여 들을찌어다
  Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!

2. 대저 여호와께서 만국을 향하여 진노하시며 그들의 만군을 향하여 분내사 그들을 진멸하시며 살륙케 하셨은즉
  The LORD is angry with all nations; his wrath is upon all their armies. He will totally destroy them, he will give them over to slaughter.

3. 그 살륙당한 자는 내어던진 바 되며 그 사체의 악취가 솟아오르고 그 피에 산들이 녹을 것이며
  Their slain will be thrown out, their dead bodies will send up a stench; the mountains will be soaked with their blood.

4. 하늘의 만상이 사라지고 하늘들이 두루마리같이 말리되 그 만상의 쇠잔함이 포도나무 잎이 마름 같고 무화과나무 잎이 마름 같으리라
  All the stars of the heavens will be dissolved and the sky rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.

5. 여호와의 칼이 하늘에서 족하게 마셨은즉 보라 이것이 에돔 위에 내리며 멸망으로 정한 백성 위에 내려서 그를 심판할 것이라
  My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom, the people I have totally destroyed.

6. 여호와의 칼이 피 곧 어린 양과 염소의 피에 만족하고 기름 곧 수양의 콩팥 기름에 윤택하니 이는 여호와께서 보스라에서 희생을 내시며 에돔 땅에서 큰 살륙을 행하심이라
  The sword of the LORD is bathed in blood, it is covered with fat--the blood of lambs and goats, fat from the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in Edom.

7. 들소와 송아지와 수소가 한가지로 도살장에 내려가니 그들의 땅이 피에 취하며 흙이 기름으로 윤택하리라
  And the wild oxen will fall with them, the bull calves and the great bulls. Their land will be drenched with blood, and the dust will be soaked with fat.

8. 이것은 여호와의 보수할 날이요 시온의 송사를 위하여 신원하실 해라
  For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion's cause.

9. 에돔의 시내들은 변하여 역청이 되고 그 티끌은 유황이 되고 그 땅은 불붙는 역청이 되며
  Edom's streams will be turned into pitch, her dust into burning sulfur; her land will become blazing pitch!

10. 낮에나 밤에나 꺼지지 않고 그 연기가 끊임없이 떠오를 것이며 세세에 황무하여 그리로 지날 자가 영영히 없겠고
  It will not be quenched night and day; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation it will lie desolate; no one will ever pass through it again.

11. 당아와 고슴도치가 그 땅을 차지하며 부엉이와 까마귀가 거기 거할 것이라 여호와께서 혼란의 줄과 공허의 추를 에돔에 베푸실 것인즉
  The desert owl and screech owl will possess it; the great owl and the raven will nest there. God will stretch out over Edom the measuring line of chaos and the plumb line of desolation.

12. 그들이 국가를 이으려 하여 귀인들을 부르되 아무도 없겠고 그 모든 방백도 없게 될 것이요
  Her nobles will have nothing there to be called a kingdom, all her princes will vanish away.

13. 그 궁궐에는 가시나무가 나며 그 견고한 성에는 엉겅퀴와 새품이 자라서 시랑의 굴과 타조의 처소가 될 것이니
  Thorns will overrun her citadels, nettles and brambles her strongholds. She will become a haunt for jackals, a home for owls.

14. 들짐승이 이리와 만나며 수염소가 그 동류를 부르며 올빼미가 거기 거하여 쉬는 처소를 삼으며
  Desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and wild goats will bleat to each other; there the night creatures will also repose and find for themselves places of rest.

15. 부엉이가 거기 깃들이고 알을 낳아 까서 그 그늘에 모으며 솔개들도 그 짝과 함께 거기 모이리라
  The owl will nest there and lay eggs, she will hatch them, and care for her young under the shadow of her wings; there also the falcons will gather, each with its mate.

16. 너희는 여호와의 책을 자세히 읽어 보라 이것들이 하나도 빠진 것이 없고 하나도 그 짝이 없는 것이 없으리니 이는 여호와의 입이 이를 명하셨고 그의 신이 이것들을 모으셨음이라
  Look in the scroll of the LORD and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together.

17. 여호와께서 그것들을 위하여 제비를 뽑으시며 친수로 줄을 띠어 그 땅을 그것들에게 나눠 주셨으니 그것들이 영영히 차지하며 대대로 거기 거하리라
  He allots their portions; his hand distributes them by measure. They will possess it forever and dwell there from generation to generation.

요한계시록 4

1. 이 일 후에 내가 보니 하늘에 열린 문이 있는데 내가 들은 바 처음에 내게 말하던 나팔 소리 같은 그 음성이 가로되 이리로 올라오라 이후에 마땅히 될 일을 내가 네게 보이리라 하시더라
  After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."

2. 내가 곧 성령에 감동하였더니 보라 하늘에 보좌를 베풀었고 그 보좌 위에 앉으신 이가 있는데
  At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.

3. 앉으신 이의 모양이 벽옥과 홍보석 같고 또 무지개가 있어 보좌에 둘렸는데 그 모양이 녹보석 같더라
  And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.

4. 또 보좌에 둘려 이십사 보좌들이 있고 그 보좌들 위에 이십사 장로들이 흰 옷을 입고 머리에 금면류관을 쓰고 앉았더라
  Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.

5. 보좌로부터 번개와 음성과 뇌성이 나고 보좌 앞에 일곱 등불 켠 것이 있으니 이는 하나님의 일곱 영이라
  From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God.

6. 보좌 앞에 수정과 같은 유리 바다가 있고 보좌 가운데와 보좌 주위에 네 생물이 있는데 앞뒤에 눈이 가득하더라
  Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.

7. 그 첫째 생물은 사자 같고 그 둘째 생물은 송아지 같고 그 세째 생물은 얼굴이 사람 같고 그 네째 생물은 날아가는 독수리 같은데
  The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.

8. 네 생물이 각각 여섯 날개가 있고 그 안과 주위에 눈이 가득하더라 그들이 밤낮 쉬지 않고 이르기를 거룩하다 거룩하다 거룩하다 주 하나님 곧 전능하신 이여 전에도 계셨고 이제도 계시고 장차 오실 자라 하고
  Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."

9. 그 생물들이 영광과 존귀와 감사를 보좌에 앉으사 세세토록 사시는 이에게 돌릴 때에
  Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever,

10. 이십사 장로들이 보좌에 앉으신 이 앞에 엎드려 세세토록 사시는 이에게 경배하고 자기의 면류관을 보좌 앞에 던지며 가로되
  the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11. 우리 주 하나님이여 영광과 존귀와 능력을 받으시는 것이 합당하오니 주께서 만물을 지으신지라 만물이 주의 뜻대로 있었고 또 지으심을 받았나이다 하더라
  "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
