신명기 3

1. 우리가 돌이켜 바산으로 올라가매 바산 왕 옥이 그 모든 백성을 거느리고 나와서 우리를 대적하여 에드레이에서 싸우는지라
  Next we turned and went up along the road toward Bashan, and Og king of Bashan with his whole army marched out to meet us in battle at Edrei.

2. 여호와께서 내게 이르시되 그를 두려워 말라 내가 그와 그 모든 백성과 그 땅을 네 손에 붙였으니 네가 헤스본에 거하던 아모리 족속의 왕 시혼에게 행한 것과 같이 그에게도 행할 것이니라 하시고
  The LORD said to me, "Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon."

3. 우리 하나님 여호와께서 바산 왕 옥과 그 모든 백성을 우리 손에 붙이시매 우리가 그들을 쳐서 한 사람도 남기지 아니하였느니라
  So the LORD our God also gave into our hands Og king of Bashan and all his army. We struck them down, leaving no survivors.

4. 그 때에 우리가 그들에게서 빼앗지 아니한 성읍이 하나도 없이 다 빼앗았는데 그 성읍이 육십이니 곧 아르곱 온 지방이요 바산에 있는 옥의 나라이라
  At that time we took all his cities. There was not one of the sixty cities that we did not take from them--the whole region of Argob, Og's kingdom in Bashan.

5. 그 모든 성읍에 높은 성벽이 둘려 있고 문과 빗장이 있어 견고하며 그 외에 성벽 없는 고을이 심히 많았느니라
  All these cities were fortified with high walls and with gates and bars, and there were also a great many unwalled villages.

6. 우리가 헤스본 왕 시혼에게 행한 것과 같이 그 성읍들을 진멸하되 각 성읍의 남녀와 유아를 진멸하였으나
  We completely destroyed them, as we had done with Sihon king of Heshbon, destroying every city--men, women and children.

7. 오직 모든 육축과 그 성읍들에서 탈취한 것은 우리의 소유로 삼았으며
  But all the livestock and the plunder from their cities we carried off for ourselves.

8. 그 때에 우리가 요단 강 이편 땅을 아르논 골짜기에서부터 헤르몬 산에까지 아모리 족속의 두 왕에게서 취하였으니
  So at that time we took from these two kings of the Amorites the territory east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge as far as Mount Hermon.

9. (헤르몬 산을 시돈 사람은 시룐이라 칭하고 아모리 족속은 스닐이라 칭하였느니라)
  (Hermon is called Sirion by the Sidonians; the Amorites call it Senir.)

10. 우리의 취한 것은 평원의 모든 성읍과 길르앗 온 땅과 바산의 온 땅 곧 옥의 나라 바산의 성읍 살르가와 에드레이까지니라
  We took all the towns on the plateau, and all Gilead, and all Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei, towns of Og's kingdom in Bashan.

11. (르바임 족속의 남은 자는 바산 왕 옥뿐이었으며 그의 침상은 철 침상이라 지금 오히려 암몬 족속의 랍바에 있지 아니하냐 그것을 사람의 보통 규빗으로 재면 그 장이 아홉 규빗이요 광이 네 규빗이니라)
  (Only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaites. His bed was made of iron and was more than thirteen feet long and six feet wide. It is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites.)

12. 그 때에 우리가 이 땅을 얻으매 아르논 골짜기 곁에 아로엘에서부터 길르앗 산지 절반과 그 성읍들을 내가 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손에게 주었고
  Of the land that we took over at that time, I gave the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory north of Aroer by the Arnon Gorge, including half the hill country of Gilead, together with its towns.

13. 길르앗의 남은 땅과 옥의 나라이었던 아르곱 온 지방 곧 온 바산으로는 내가 므낫세 반 지파에게 주었노라 (바산을 옛적에는 르바임의 땅이라 칭하더니
  The rest of Gilead and also all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh. (The whole region of Argob in Bashan used to be known as a land of the Rephaites.

14. 므낫세의 아들 야일이 그술 족속과 마아갓 족속의 경계까지의 아르곱 온 지방을 취하고 자기의 이름으로 이 바산을 하봇야일이라 칭하여 오늘까지 이르느니라)
  Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites; it was named after him, so that to this day Bashan is called Havvoth Jair.)

15. 내가 마길에게 길르앗을 주었고
  And I gave Gilead to Makir.

16. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손에게는 길르앗에서부터 아르논 골짜기까지 주었으되 그 골짜기의 중앙으로 지경을 정하였으니 곧 암몬 자손의 지경 얍복 강까지며
  But to the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the territory extending from Gilead down to the Arnon Gorge (the middle of the gorge being the border) and out to the Jabbok River, which is the border of the Ammonites.

17. 또는 아라바와 요단과 그 가요 긴네렛에서 아라바 바다 곧 염해와 비스가 산록에 이르기까지의 동편 지경이니라
  Its western border was the Jordan in the Arabah, from Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea), below the slopes of Pisgah.

18. 그 때에 내가 이 땅을 받은 너희에게 명하여 이르기를 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 이 땅을 너희에게 주어 기업이 되게 하셨은즉 너희 군인들은 무장하고 너희의 형제 이스라엘 자손의 선봉이 되어 건너가되
  I commanded you at that time: "The LORD your God has given you this land to take possession of it. But all your able-bodied men, armed for battle, must cross over ahead of your brother Israelites.

19. 너희에게 육축이 많은 줄 내가 아노니 너희의 처자와 육축은 내가 너희에게 준 성읍에 머무르라
  However, your wives, your children and your livestock (I know you have much livestock) may stay in the towns I have given you,

20. 여호와께서 너희에게 주신것 같이 너희 형제에게도 안식을 주시리니 그들도 요단 저편에서 너희 하나님 여호와의 주시는 땅을 얻어 기업을 삼기에 이르거든 너희는 각기 내가 준 기업으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하고
  until the LORD gives rest to your brothers as he has to you, and they too have taken over the land that the LORD your God is giving them, across the Jordan. After that, each of you may go back to the possession I have given you."

21. 그 때에 내가 여호수아에게 명하여 이르기를 너희 하나님 여호와께서 이 두 왕에게 행하신 모든 일을 네가 목도하였거니와 네가 가는 모든 나라에도 여호와께서 이와 같이 행하시리니
  At that time I commanded Joshua: "You have seen with your own eyes all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going.

22. 너희는 그들을 두려워하지 말라 너희 하나님 여호와 그가 너희를 위하여 싸우시리라 하였노라
  Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you."

23. 그 때에 내가 여호와께 간구하기를
  At that time I pleaded with the LORD:

24. 주 여호와여 주께서 주의 크심과 주의 권능을 주의 종에게 나타내시기를 시작하셨사오니 천지간에 무슨 신이 능히 주의 행하신 일 곧 주의 큰 능력으로 행하신 일 같이 행할 수 있으리이까
  "O Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?

25. 구하옵나니 나로 건너가게 하사 요단 저편에 있는 아름다운 땅, 아름다운 산과 레바논을 보게 하옵소서 하되
  Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan--that fine hill country and Lebanon."

26. 여호와께서 너희의 연고로 내게 진노하사 내 말을 듣지 아니하시고 내게 이르시기를 그만해도 족하니 이 일로 다시 내게 말하지 말라
  But because of you the LORD was angry with me and would not listen to me. "That is enough," the LORD said. "Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.

27. 너는 비스가 산 꼭대기에 올라가서 눈을 들어 동서 남북을 바라고 네 눈으로 그 땅을 보라 네가 이 요단을 건너지 못할 것임이니라
  Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan.

28. 너는 여호수아에게 명하고 그를 담대케 하며 그를 강경케 하라 그는 이 백성을 거느리고 건너가서 네가 볼 땅을 그들로 기업으로 얻게 하리라 하셨느니라
  But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see."

29. 그 때에 우리가 벧브올 맞은편 골짜기에 거하였었느니라
  So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.

시편 85

1. 여호와여 주께서 주의 땅에 은혜를 베푸사 야곱의 포로된 자로 돌아오게 하셨으며
  For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. You showed favor to your land, O LORD; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

2. 주의 백성의 죄악을 사하시고 저희 모든 죄를 덮으셨나이다 (셀라)
  You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. Selah

3. 주의 모든 분노를 거두시며 주의 진노를 돌이키셨나이다
  You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.

4. 우리 구원의 하나님이여 우리를 돌이키시고 우리에게 향하신 주의 분노를 그치소서
  Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us.

5. 주께서 우리에게 영원히 노하시며 대대에 발분하시겠나이까
  Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations?

6. 우리를 다시 살리사 주의 백성으로 주를 기뻐하게 아니하시겠나이까
  Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

7. 여호와여 주의 인자하심을 우리에게 보이시며 주의 구원을 우리에게 주소서
  Show us your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.

8. 내가 하나님 여호와의 하실 말씀을 들으리니 대저 그 백성, 그 성도에게 화평을 말씀하실 것이라 저희는 다시 망령된데로 돌아가지 말찌로다
  I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints--but let them not return to folly.

9. 진실로 그의 구원이 그를 경외하는 자에게 가까우니 이에 영광이 우리 땅에 거하리이다
  Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.

10. 긍휼과 진리가 같이 만나고 의와 화평이 서로 입맞추었으며
  Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

11. 진리는 땅에서 솟아나고 의는 하늘에서 하감하였도다
  Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

12. 여호와께서 좋은 것을 주시리니 우리 땅이 그 산물을 내리로다
  The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

13. 의가 주의 앞에 앞서 행하며 주의 종적으로 길을 삼으리로다
  Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 31

1. 도움을 구하러 애굽으로 내려가는 자들은 화 있을찐저 그들은 말을 의뢰하며 병거의 많음과 마병의 심히 강함을 의지하고 이스라엘의 거룩하신 자를 앙모치 아니하며 여호와를 구하지 아니하거니와
  Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the LORD.

2. 여호와께서도 지혜로우신즉 재앙을 내리실 것이라 그 말을 변치 아니하시고 일어나사 악행하는 자의 집을 치시며 행악을 돕는 자를 치시리니
  Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against the house of the wicked, against those who help evildoers.

3. 애굽은 사람이요 신이 아니며 그 말들은 육체요 영이 아니라 여호와께서 그 손을 드시면 돕는 자도 넘어지며 도움을 받는 자도 엎드러져서 다 함께 멸망하리라
  But the Egyptians are men and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out his hand, he who helps will stumble, he who is helped will fall; both will perish together.

4. 여호와께서 이같이 내게 이르시되 큰 사자나 젊은 사자가 그 식물을 움키고 으르렁거릴 때에 그것을 치려고 여러 목자가 불려왔다 할찌라도 그것이 그들의 소리로 인하여 놀라지 아니할 것이요 그들의 떠듦을 인하여 굴복지 아니할 것이라 이와 같이 나 만군의 여호와가 강림하여 시온산과 그 영 위에서 싸울 것이며
  This is what the LORD says to me: "As a lion growls, a great lion over his prey--and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against him, he is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor--so the LORD Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.

5. 새가 날개 치며 그 새끼를 보호함같이 나 만군의 여호와가 예루살렘을 보호할 것이라 그것을 호위하며 건지며 넘어와서 구원하리라 하셨나니
  Like birds hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will 'pass over' it and will rescue it."

6. 이스라엘 자손들아 너희는 심히 거역하던 자에게로 돌아오라
  Return to him you have so greatly revolted against, O Israelites.

7. 너희가 자기 손으로 만들어 범죄한 은우상, 금우상을 그 날에는 각 사람이 던져 버릴 것이며
  For in that day every one of you will reject the idols of silver and gold your sinful hands have made.

8. 앗수르는 칼에 엎더질 것이나 사람의 칼로 말미암음이 아니겠고 칼에 삼키울 것이나 여러 사람의 칼로 말미암음이 아닐 것이며 그는 칼 앞에서 도망할 것이요 그 장정들은 복역하는 자가 될 것이라
  "Assyria will fall by a sword that is not of man; a sword, not of mortals, will devour them. They will flee before the sword and their young men will be put to forced labor.

9. 그의 반석은 두려움을 인하여 물러가겠고 그의 방백들은 기호를 인하여 놀라리라 이는 여호와의 말씀이라 여호와의 불은 시온에 있고 여호와의 풀무는 예루살렘에 있느니라
  Their stronghold will fall because of terror; at sight of the battle standard their commanders will panic," declares the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, whose furnace is in Jerusalem.

요한계시록 1

1. 예수 그리스도의 계시라 이는 하나님이 그에게 주사 반드시 속히 될 일을 그 종들에게 보이시려고 그 천사를 그 종 요한에게 보내어 지시하신 것이라
  The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

2. 요한은 하나님의 말씀과 예수 그리스도의 증거 곧 자기의 본 것을 다 증거하였느니라
  who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

3. 이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 자와 듣는 자들과 그 가운데 기록한 것을 지키는 자들이 복이 있나니 때가 가까움이라
  Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

4. 요한은 아시아에 있는 일곱 교회에 편지하노니 이제도 계시고 전에도 계시고 장차 오실 이와 그 보좌 앞에 일곱 영과
  John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne,

5. 또 충성된 증인으로 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나시고 땅의 임금들의 머리가 되신 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있기를 원하노라 우리를 사랑하사 그의 피로 우리 죄에서 우리를 해방하시고
  and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

6. 그 아버지 하나님을 위하여 우리를 나라와 제사장으로 삼으신 그에게 영광과 능력이 세세토록 있기를 원하노라 아멘
  and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

7. 볼찌어다 구름을 타고 오시리라 각인의 눈이 그를 보겠고 그를 찌른 자들도 볼터이요 땅에 있는 모든 족속이 그를 인하여 애곡하리니 그러하리라 아멘
  Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

8. 주 하나님이 가라사대 나는 알파와 오메가라 이제도 있고 전에도 있었고 장차 올 자요 전능한 자라 하시더라
  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

9. 나 요한은 너희 형제요 예수의 환난과 나라와 참음에 동참하는 자라 하나님의 말씀과 예수의 증거를 인하여 밧모라 하는 섬에 있었더니
  I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

10. 주의 날에 내가 성령에 감동하여 내 뒤에서 나는 나팔 소리 같은 큰 음성을 들으니
  On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

11. 가로되 너 보는 것을 책에 써서 에베소, 서머나, 버가모, 두아디라, 사데, 빌라델비아, 라오디게아 일곱 교회에 보내라 하시기로
  which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."

12. 몸을 돌이켜 나더러 말한 음성을 알아보려고 하여 돌이킬 때에 일곱 금촛대를 보았는데
  I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

13. 촛대 사이에 인자 같은 이가 발에 끌리는 옷을 입고 가슴에 금띠를 띠고
  and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.

14. 그 머리와 털의 희기가 흰 양털 같고 눈 같으며 그의 눈은 불꽃 같고
  His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.

15. 그의 발은 풀무에 단련한 빛난 주석 같고 그의 음성은 많은 물 소리와 같으며
  His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.

16. 그 오른손에 일곱 별이 있고 그 입에서 좌우에 날선 검이 나오고 그 얼굴은 해가 힘있게 비취는 것 같더라
  In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

17. 내가 볼 때에 그 발 앞에 엎드러져 죽은 자같이 되매 그가 오른손을 내게 얹고 가라사대 두려워 말라 나는 처음이요 나중이니
  When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.

18. 곧 산 자라 내가 전에 죽었었노라 볼찌어다 이제 세세토록 살아 있어 사망과 음부의 열쇠를 가졌노니
  I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

19. 그러므로 네 본 것과 이제 있는 일과 장차 될 일을 기록하라
  "Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.

20. 네 본 것은 내 오른손에 일곱 별의 비밀과 일곱 금촛대라 일곱 별은 일곱 교회의 사자요 일곱 촛대는 일곱 교회니라
  The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
