민수기 31

1. 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses,

2. 이스라엘 자손의 원수를 미디안에게 갚으라 그 후에 네가 네 조상에게로 돌아가리라
  "Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people."

3. 모세가 백성에게 일러 가로되 너희 중에서 사람을 택하여 싸움에 나갈 준비를 시키고 미디안을 치러 보내어서 여호와의 원수를 미디안에게 갚되
  So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites and to carry out the LORD'S vengeance on them.

4. 이스라엘 모든 지파에 대하여 각 지파에서 일천인씩을 싸움에 보낼찌니라 하매
  Send into battle a thousand men from each of the tribes of Israel."

5. 매 지파에서 일천 인씩 이스라엘 천만인 중에서 일만 이천 인을 택하여 무장을 시킨지라
  So twelve thousand men armed for battle, a thousand from each tribe, were supplied from the clans of Israel.

6. 모세가 매지파에 일천 인씩 싸움에 보내되 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스에게 성소의 기구와 신호 나팔을 들려서 그들과 함께 싸움에 보내매
  Moses sent them into battle, a thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, who took with him articles from the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.

7. 그들이 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서 그 남자를 다 죽였고
  They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses, and killed every man.

8. 그 죽인 자 외에 미디안의 다섯 왕을 죽였으니 미디안의 왕들은 에위와 레겜과 수르와 후르와 레바이며 또 브올의 아들 발람을 칼로 죽였더라
  Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.

9. 이스라엘 자손이 미디안의 부녀들과 그 아이들을 사로잡고 그 가축과 양 떼와 재물을 다 탈취하고
  The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.

10. 그 거처하는 성읍들과 촌락을 다 불사르고
  They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.

11. 탈취한 것, 노략한 것, 사람과 짐승을 다 취하니라
  They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,

12. 그들이 사로잡은 자와 노략한 것과 탈취한 것을 가지고 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지의 진에 이르러 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 이스라엘 자손의 회중에게로 나아오니라
  and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.

13. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 족장들이 다 진 밖에 나가서 영접하다가
  Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.

14. 모세가 군대의 장관 곧 싸움에서 돌아온 천부장들과 백부장들에게 노하니라
  Moses was angry with the officers of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--who returned from the battle.

15. 모세가 그들에게 이르되 너희가 여자들을 다 살려 두었느냐
  "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them.

16. 보라 이들이 발람의 꾀를 좇아 이스라엘 자손으로 브올의 사건에 여호와 앞에 범죄케 하여 여호와의 회중에 염병이 일어나게 하였느니라
  "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD'S people.

17. 그러므로 아이들 중에 남자는 다 죽이고 남자와 동침하여 사내를 안 여자는 다 죽이고
  Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,

18. 남자와 동침하지 아니하여 사내를 알지 못하는 여자들은 다 너희를 위하여 살려 둘 것이니라
  but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

19. 너희는 칠 일 동안 진 밖에 주둔하라 무릇 살인자나 죽임을 당한 시체를 만진 자나 제 삼 일과 제 칠 일에 몸을 깨끗케 하고 너희의 포로도 깨끗케 할 것이며
  "All of you who have killed anyone or touched anyone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives.

20. 무릇 의복과 무릇 가죽으로 만든 것과 무릇 염소털로 만든 것과 무릇 나무로 만든 것을 다 깨끗케 할찌니라
  Purify every garment as well as everything made of leather, goat hair or wood."

21. 제사장 엘르아살이 싸움에 나갔던 군인들에게 이르되 이는 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 법률이니라
  Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, "This is the requirement of the law that the LORD gave Moses:

22. 금, 은, 동, 철과 상납과 납의
  Gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, lead

23. 무릇 불에 견딜 만한 물건은 불을 지나게 하라 그리하면 깨끗하려니와 오히려 정결케 하는 물로 그것을 깨끗케 할 것이며 무릇 불에 견디지 못할 모든 것은 물을 지나게 할 것이니라
  and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.

24. 너희는 제 칠일에 옷을 빨아서 깨끗케 한 후에 진에 들어올찌니라
  On the seventh day wash your clothes and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp."

25. 여호와께서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  The LORD said to Moses,

26. 너는 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 족장들로 더불어 이 탈취한 사람과 짐승을 계수하고
  "You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured.

27. 그 얻은 물건을 반분하여 그 절반은 싸움에 나갔던 군인들에게 주고 절반은 회중에게 주고
  Divide the spoils between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.

28. 싸움에 나갔던 군인들로는 사람이나 소나 나귀나 양 떼의 오백분지 일을 여호와께 드리게 하되
  From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the LORD one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep or goats.

29. 곧 이를 그들의 절반에서 취하여 여호와의 거제로 제사장 엘르아살에게 주고
  Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the LORD'S part.

30. 또 이스라엘 자손의 얻은 절반에서는 사람이나 소나 나귀나 양 떼나 각종 짐승을 오십분지 일을 취하여 여호와의 성막을 맡은 레위인에게 주라
  From the Israelites' half, select one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the LORD'S tabernacle."

31. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여호와께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 하니라
  So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.

32. 그 탈취물 곧 군인들의 다른 탈취물 외에 양이 육십칠만 오천이요
  The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep,

33. 소가 칠만 이천이요
  72,000 cattle,

34. 나귀가 육만 일천이요
  61,000 donkeys

35. 사람은 남자와 동침하지 아니하여서 사내를 알지 못하는 여자가 도합 삼만 이천이니
  and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.

36. 그 절반 곧 싸움에 나갔던 자들의 소유가 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백이라
  The half share of those who fought in the battle was: 337,500 sheep,

37. 여호와께 세로 드린 양이 육백칠십오요
  of which the tribute for the LORD was 675;

38. 소가 삼만 육천이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드린 것이 칠십이 두요
  36,000 cattle, of which the tribute for the LORD was 72;

39. 나귀가 삼만 오백이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드린 것이 육십일이요
  30,500 donkeys, of which the tribute for the LORD was 61;

40. 사람이 일만 육천이라 그 중에서 여호와께 세로 드리운 자가 삼십이 명이니
  16,000 people, of which the tribute for the LORD was 32.

41. 여호와께 거제의 세로 드린 것을 모세가 제사장 엘르아살에게 주었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았더라
  Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the LORD'S part, as the LORD commanded Moses.

42. 모세가 싸움에 나갔던 자에게서 나누어 취하여 이스라엘 자손에게 준 절반
  The half belonging to the Israelites, which Moses set apart from that of the fighting men--

43. 곧 회중의 얻은 절반은 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백이요
  the community's half--was 337,500 sheep,

44. 소가 삼만 육천이요
  36,000 cattle,

45. 나귀가 삼만 오백이요
  30,500 donkeys

46. 사람이 일만 육천이라
  and 16,000 people.

47. 이스라엘 자손의 그 절반에서 모세가 사람이나 짐승의 오십분지 일을 취하여 여호와의 장막을 맡은 레위인에게 주었으니 여호와께서 모세에게 명하심과 같았더라
  From the Israelites' half, Moses selected one out of every fifty persons and animals, as the LORD commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the LORD'S tabernacle.

48. 군대의 장관들 곧 천부장과 백부장들이 모세에게 나아와서
  Then the officers who were over the units of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--went to Moses

49. 그에게 고하되 당신의 종들의 영솔한 군인을 계수한즉 우리 중 한 사람도 축나지 아니하였기로
  and said to him, "Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.

50. 우리 각 사람의 얻은 바 금 패물 곧 발목고리, 손목고리, 인장반지, 귀고리, 팔고리들을 여호와의 예물로 우리의 생명을 위하여 여호와 앞에 속죄하려고 가져왔나이다
  So we have brought as an offering to the LORD the gold articles each of us acquired--armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces--to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD."

51. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 그들에게서 그 금으로 만든 모든 패물을 취한즉
  Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted from them the gold--all the crafted articles.

52. 천부장과 백부장들이 여호와께 드린 거제의 금의 도합이 일만 육천칠백오십 세겔이니
  All the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds that Moses and Eleazar presented as a gift to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.

53. 군인들이 각기 자기를 위하여 탈취한 것이니라
  Each soldier had taken plunder for himself.

54. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 천부장과 백부장들에게서 금을 취하여 회막에 들여서 여호와 앞에 이스라엘 자손의 기념을 삼았더라
  Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.

시편 75-76

1. 하나님이여 우리가 주께 감사하고 감사함은 주의 이름이 가까움이라 사람들이 주의 기사를 전파하나이다
  For the director of music. To the tune of"Do Not Destroy." A psalm of Asaph. A song. We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds.

2. 주의 말씀이 내가 정한 기약을 당하면 정의로 판단하리니
  You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge uprightly.

3. 땅의 기둥은 내가 세웠거니와 땅과 그 모든 거민이 소멸되리라 하시도다 (셀라)
  When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm. Selah

4. 내가 오만한 자더러 오만히 행치 말라 하며 행악자더러 뿔을 들지 말라 하였노니
  To the arrogant I say, 'Boast no more,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horns.

5. 너희 뿔을 높이 들지 말며 교만한 목으로 말하지 말찌어다
  Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak with outstretched neck.'"

6. 대저 높이는 일이 동에서나 서에서 말미암지 아니하며 남에서도 말미암지 아니하고
  No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man.

7. 오직 재판장이신 하나님이 이를 낮추시고 저를 높이시느니라
  But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.

8. 여호와의 손에 잔이 있어 술 거품이 일어나는도다 속에 섞은 것이 가득한 그 잔을 하나님이 쏟아 내시나니 실로 그 찌끼까지도 땅의 모든 악인이 기울여 마시리로다
  In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.

9. 나는 야곱의 하나님을 영원히 선포하며 찬양하며
  As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.

10. 또 악인의 뿔을 다 베고 의인의 뿔은 높이 들리로다
  I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

1. 하나님이 유다에 알린 바 되셨으며 그 이름은 이스라엘에 크시도다
  For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song. In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel.

2. 그 장막이 또한 살렘에 있음이여 그 처소는 시온에 있도다
  His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.

3. 거기서 저가 화살과 방패와 칼과 전쟁을 깨치시도다 (셀라)
  There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war. Selah

4. 주는 영화로우시며 약탈한 산에서 존귀하시도다
  You are resplendent with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.

5. 마음이 강한 자는 탈취를 당하여 자기 잠을 자고 장사는 자기 손을 놀리지 못하도다
  Valiant men lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands.

6. 야곱의 하나님이여 주께서 꾸짖으시매 병거와 말이 다 깊은 잠이 들었나이다
  At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.

7. 주 곧 주는 경외할 자시니 주께서 한 번 노하실 때에 누가 주의 목전에 서리이까
  You alone are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?

8. 주께서 하늘에서 판결을 선포하시매 땅이 두려워 잠잠하였나니
  From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet--

9. 곧 하나님이 땅의 모든 온유한 자를 구원하시려고 판단하러 일어나신 때에로다 (셀라)
  when you, O God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land. Selah

10. 진실로 사람의 노는 장차 주를 찬송하게 될 것이요 그 남은 노는 주께서 금하시리이다
  Surely your wrath against men brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.

11. 너희는 여호와 너희 하나님께 서원하고 갚으라 사방에 있는 모든 자도 마땅히 경외할 이에게 예물을 드릴찌로다
  Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared.

12. 저가 방백들의 심령을 꺾으시리니 저는 세상의 왕들에게 두려움이시로다
  He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 23

1. 두로에 관한 경고라 다시스의 선척들아 너희는 슬피 부르짖을찌어다 두로가 황무하여 집이 없고 들어 갈 곳도 없음이요 이 소식이 깃딤 땅에서부터 그들에게 전파되었음이니라
  An oracle concerning Tyre: Wail, O ships of Tarshish! For Tyre is destroyed and left without house or harbor. From the land of Cyprus word has come to them.

2. 바다에 왕래하는 시돈 상고로 말미암아 부요하게 된 너희 해변 거민들아 잠잠하라
  Be silent, you people of the island and you merchants of Sidon, whom the seafarers have enriched.

3. 시홀의 곡식 곧 나일의 추수를 큰 물로 수운하여 들였으니 열국의 시장이었도다
  On the great waters came the grain of the Shihor; the harvest of the Nile was the revenue of Tyre, and she became the marketplace of the nations.

4. 시돈이여 너는 부끄러워할찌어다 대저 바다 곧 바다의 보장이 말하기를 나는 구로하지 못하였으며 생산하지 못하였으며 청년 남자들을 양육하지 못하였으며 처녀들을 생육지도 못하였다 하였음이니라
  Be ashamed, O Sidon, and you, O fortress of the sea, for the sea has spoken: "I have neither been in labor nor given birth; I have neither reared sons nor brought up daughters."

5. 그 소식이 애굽에 이르면 그들이 두로의 소식을 인하여 통도하리로다
  When word comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish at the report from Tyre.

6. 너희는 다시스로 건너갈찌어다 해변 거민아 너희는 슬피 부르짖을찌어다
  Cross over to Tarshish; wail, you people of the island.

7. 이것이 고대에 건설된 너희 희락의 성 곧 그 백성이 자기 발로 먼 지방까지 가서 유하던 성이냐
  Is this your city of revelry, the old, old city, whose feet have taken her to settle in far-off lands?

8. 면류관을 씌우던 자요 그 상고들은 방백이요 그 무역자들은 세상에 존귀한 자이던 두로에 대하여 누가 이 일을 정하였느뇨
  Who planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are renowned in the earth?

9. 만군의 여호와의 정하신 것이라 모든 영광의 교만을 욕되게 하시며 세상의 모든 존귀한 자로 멸시를 받게 하려 하심이니라
  The LORD Almighty planned it, to bring low the pride of all glory and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.

10. 딸 다시스여 나일 같이 너희 땅에 넘칠찌어다 너를 속박함이 다시는 없으리라
  Till your land as along the Nile, O Daughter of Tarshish, for you no longer have a harbor.

11. 여호와께서 바다 위에 손을 펴사 열방을 흔드시며 여호와께서 가나안에 대하여 명을 내려 그 견고한 성을 훼파하게 하시고
  The LORD has stretched out his hand over the sea and made its kingdoms tremble. He has given an order concerning Phoenicia that her fortresses be destroyed.

12. 가라사대 너 학대받은 처녀 딸 시돈아 네게 다시는 희락이 없으리니 일어나 깃딤으로 건너가라 거기서도 네가 평안을 얻지 못하리라 하셨느니라
  He said, "No more of your reveling, O Virgin Daughter of Sidon, now crushed! "Up, cross over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest."

13. 갈대아 사람의 땅을 보라 그 백성이 없어졌나니 곧 앗수르 사람이 들짐승의 거하는 곳이 되게 하였으되 그들이 망대를 세우고 궁전을 헐어 황무케 하였느니라
  Look at the land of the Babylonians, this people that is now of no account! The Assyrians have made it a place for desert creatures; they raised up their siege towers, they stripped its fortresses bare and turned it into a ruin.

14. 다시스의 선척들아 너희는 슬피 부르짖으라 너희 견고한 성이 파괴되었느니라
  Wail, you ships of Tarshish; your fortress is destroyed!

15. 그 날부터 두로가 한 왕의 년한 같이 칠십년을 잊어버림이 되었다가 칠십년이 필한 후에 두로는 기생 노래의 뜻 같이 될 것이라
  At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the span of a king's life. But at the end of these seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:

16. 잊어버린 바 되었던 기생 너여 수금을 가지고 성읍에 두루 행하며 기묘한 곡조로 많은 노래를 불러서 너를 다시 기억케 하라 하였느니라
  "Take up a harp, walk through the city, O prostitute forgotten; play the harp well, sing many a song, so that you will be remembered."

17. 칠십 년이 필한 후에 여호와께서 두로를 권고하시리니 그가 다시 취리하여 지면에 있는 열방과 음란을 행할 것이며
  At the end of seventy years, the LORD will deal with Tyre. She will return to her hire as a prostitute and will ply her trade with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.

18. 그 무역한 것과 이익을 거룩히 여호와께 돌리고 간직하거나 쌓아 두지 아니하리니 그 무역한 것이 여호와 앞에 거하는 자의 배불리 먹을 자료, 잘 입을 자료가 되리라
  Yet her profit and her earnings will be set apart for the LORD; they will not be stored up or hoarded. Her profits will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothes.

요한일서 1

1. 태초부터 있는 생명의 말씀에 관하여는 우리가 들은 바요 눈으로 본 바요 주목하고 우리 손으로 만진 바라
  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

2. 이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증거하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 자니라
  The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

3. 우리가 보고 들은 바를 너희에게도 전함은 너희로 우리와 사귐이 있게 하려 함이니 우리의 사귐은 아버지와 그 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께 함이라
  We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

4. 우리가 이것을 씀은 우리의 기쁨이 충만케 하려 함이로라
  We write this to make our joy complete.

5. 우리가 저에게서 듣고 너희에게 전하는 소식이 이것이니 곧 하나님은 빛이시라 그에게는 어두움이 조금도 없으시니라
  This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

6. 만일 우리가 하나님과 사귐이 있다 하고 어두운 가운데 행하면 거짓말을 하고 진리를 행치 아니함이거니와
  If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

7. 저가 빛 가운데 계신 것같이 우리도 빛 가운데 행하면 우리가 서로 사귐이 있고 그 아들 예수의 피가 우리를 모든 죄에서 깨끗하게 하실 것이요
  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8. 만일 우리가 죄 없다 하면 스스로 속이고 또 진리가 우리 속에 있지 아니할 것이요
  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9. 만일 우리가 우리 죄를 자백하면 저는 미쁘시고 의로우사 우리 죄를 사하시며 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗케 하실 것이요
  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

10. 만일 우리가 범죄하지 아니하였다 하면 하나님을 거짓말하는 자로 만드는 것이니 또한 그의 말씀이 우리 속에 있지 아니하니라
  If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
