역대하 8

1. 솔로몬이 여호와의 전과 자기의 궁궐을 이십 년 동안에 건축하기를 마치고
  At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the LORD and his own palace,

2. 후람이 자기에게 준 성읍들을 다시 건축하여 이스라엘 자손으로 거기 거하게 하니라
  Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them.

3. 솔로몬이 가서 하맛소바를 쳐서 취하고
  Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.

4. 또 광야에서 다드몰을 건축하고 하맛에서 모든 국고성을 건축하고
  He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.

5. 또 윗 벧호론과 아래 벧호론을 건축하되 성과 문과 문빗장이 있게 하여 견고한 성읍을 삼고
  He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,

6. 또 바알랏과 자기에게 있는 모든 국고성과 모든 병거성과 마병의 성들을 건축하고 솔로몬이 또 예루살렘과 레바논과 그 다스리는 온 땅에 건축하고자 하던 것을 다 건축하니라
  as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses--whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.

7. 무릇 이스라엘이 아닌 헷 족속과 아모리 족속과 브리스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속의 남아 있는 자
  All the people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these peoples were not Israelites),

8. 곧 이스라엘 자손이 다 멸하지 못하였으므로 그 땅에 남아 있는 그 자손들을 솔로몬이 역군을 삼아 오늘날까지 이르렀으되
  that is, their descendants remaining in the land, whom the Israelites had not destroyed--these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force, as it is to this day.

9. 오직 이스라엘 자손은 솔로몬이 노예를 삼아 일을 시키지 아니하였으니 저희는 군사와 장관의 두목과 그 병거와 마병의 장관이 됨이라
  But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.

10. 솔로몬 왕의 공장을 감독하는 자가 이백오십 인이라 저희가 백성을 다스렸더라
  They were also King Solomon's chief officials--two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.

11. 솔로몬이 바로의 딸을 데리고 다윗 성에서부터 저를 위하여 건축한 궁에 이르러 가로되 내 아내가 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 궁에 거하지 못하리니 이는 여호와의 궤가 이른 곳은 다 거룩함이니라 하였더라
  Solomon brought Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, "My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy."

12. 솔로몬이 낭실 앞에 쌓은 여호와의 단 위에 여호와께 번제를 드리되
  On the altar of the LORD that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the LORD,

13. 모세의 명을 좇아 매일에 합의한 대로 안식일과 월삭과 정한 절기 곧 일 년의 세 절기 무교절과 칠칠절과 초막절에 드렸더라
  according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts--the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles.

14. 솔로몬이 또 그 부친 다윗의 정규를 좇아 제사장들의 반차를 정하여 섬기게 하고 레위 사람에게도 그 직분을 맡겨 매일에 합의한 대로 찬송하며 제사장들 앞에서 수종들게 하며 또 문지기로 그 반차를 좇아 각 문을 지키게 하였으니 이는 하나님의 사람 다윗이 전에 이렇게 명하였음이라
  In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day's requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.

15. 제사장과 레위 사람이 국고 일에든지 무슨 일에든지 왕의 명한 바를 다 어기지 아니하였더라
  They did not deviate from the king's commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.

16. 솔로몬이 여호와의 전의 기지를 쌓던 날부터 준공하기까지 범백을 완비하였으므로 여호와의 전이 결점이 없이 필역하니라
  All Solomon's work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid until its completion. So the temple of the LORD was finished.

17. 때에 솔로몬이 에돔 땅의 바닷가 에시온게벨과 엘롯에 이르렀더니
  Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom.

18. 후람이 그 신복에게 부탁하여 배와 바닷길을 아는 종들을 보내매 저희가 솔로몬의 종과 함께 오빌에 이르러 거기서 금 사백오십 달란트를 얻고 솔로몬 왕에게로 가져왔더라
  And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own officers, men who knew the sea. These, with Solomon's men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.

요한삼서 1

1. 장로는 사랑하는 가이오 곧 나의 참으로 사랑하는 자에게 편지하노라
  The elder, To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

2. 사랑하는 자여 네 영혼이 잘 됨같이 네가 범사에 잘 되고 강건하기를 내가 간구하노라
  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

3. 형제들이 와서 네게 있는 진리를 증거하되 네가 진리 안에서 행한다 하니 내가 심히 기뻐하노라
  It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth.

4. 내가 내 자녀들이 진리 안에서 행한다 함을 듣는 것보다 더 즐거움이 없도다
  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

5. 사랑하는 자여 네가 무엇이든지 형제 곧 나그네 된 자들에게 행하는 것이 신실한 일이니
  Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, even though they are strangers to you.

6. 저희가 교회 앞에서 너의 사랑을 증거하였느니라 네가 하나님께 합당하게 저희를 전송하면 가하리로다
  They have told the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.

7. 이는 저희가 주의 이름을 위하여 나가서 이방인에게 아무것도 받지 아니함이라
  It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans.

8. 이러므로 우리가 이같은 자들을 영접하는 것이 마땅하니 이는 우리로 진리를 위하여 함께 수고하는 자가 되게 하려 함이니라
  We ought therefore to show hospitality to such men so that we may work together for the truth.

9. 내가 두어 자를 교회에게 썼으나 저희 중에 으뜸되기를 좋아하는 디오드레베가 우리를 접대하지 아니하니
  I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will have nothing to do with us.

10. 이러므로 내가 가면 그 행한 일을 잊지 아니하리라 저가 악한 말로 우리를 망령되이 폄론하고도 유위부족하여 형제들을 접대치도 아니하고 접대하고자 하는 자를 금하여 교회에서 내어쫓는도다
  So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us. Not satisfied with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.

11. 사랑하는 자여 악한 것을 본받지 말고 선한 것을 본받으라 선을 행하는 자는 하나님께 속하고 악을 행하는 자는 하나님을 뵈옵지 못하였느니라
  Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

12. 데메드리오는 뭇 사람에게도, 진리에게도 증거를 받았으매 우리도 증거하노니 너는 우리의 증거가 참된 줄을 아느니라
  Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone--and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.

13. 내가 네게 쓸 것이 많으나 먹과 붓으로 쓰기를 원치 아니하고
  I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.

14. 속히 보기를 바라노니 또한 우리가 면대하여 말하리라
  I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.

15. 평강이 네게 있을지어다 여러 친구가 네게 문안하느니라 너는 각 친구 명하에 문안하라

하박국 3

1. 시기오놋에 맞춘 바 선지자 하박국의 기도라
  A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet. On shigionoth .

2. 여호와여 내가 주께 대한 소문을 듣고 놀랐나이다 여호와여 주는 주의 일을 이 수년 내에 부흥케 하옵소서 이 수년 내에 나타내시옵소서 진노 중에라도 긍휼을 잊지 마옵소서
  LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

3. 하나님이 데만에서부터 오시며 거룩한 자가 바란 산에서부터 오시도다 (셀라) 그 영광이 하늘을 덮었고 그 찬송이 세계에 가득하도다
  God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.

4. 그 광명이 햇빛 같고 광선이 그 손에서 나오니 그 권능이 그 속에 감취었도다
  His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.

5. 온역이 그 앞에서 행하며 불덩이가 그 발 밑에서 나오도다
  Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.

6. 그가 서신즉 땅이 진동하며 그가 보신즉 열국이 전률하며 영원한 산이 무너지며 무궁한 작은 산이 엎드러지나니 그 행하심이 예로부터 그러하시도다
  He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.

7. 내가 본즉 구산의 장막이 환난을 당하고 미디안 땅의 휘장이 흔들리도다
  I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.

8. 여호와여 주께서 말을 타시며 구원의 병거를 모시오니 하수를 분히 여기심이니이까 강을 노여워하심이니이까 바다를 대하여 성내심이니이까
  Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?

9. 주께서 활을 꺼내시고 살을 바로 발하셨나이다 (셀라) 주께서 하 수들로 땅을 쪼개셨나이다
  You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers;

10. 산들이 주를 보고 흔들리며 창수가 넘치고 바다가 소리를 지르며 손을 높이 들었나이다
  the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.

11. 주의 날으는 살의 빛과 주의 번쩍이는 창의 광채로 인하여 해와 달이 그 처소에 멈추었나이다
  Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.

12. 주께서 노를 발하사 땅에 둘리셨으며 분을 내사 열국을 밟으셨나이다
  In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.

13. 주께서 주의 백성을 구원하시려고, 기름받은 자를 구원하시려고 나오사 악인의 집머리를 치시며 그 기초를 끝까지 드러내셨나이다 (셀라)
  You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. Selah

14. 그들이 회리바람처럼 이르러 나를 흩으려 하며 가만히 가난한 자 삼키기를 즐거워하나 오직 주께서 그들의 전사의 머리를 그들의 창으로 찌르셨나이다
  With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.

15. 주께서 말을 타시고 바다 곧 큰 물의 파도를 밟으셨나이다
  You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.

16. 내가 들었으므로 내 창자가 흔들렸고 그 목소리로 인하여 내 입술이 떨렸도다 무리가 우리를 치러 올라오는 환난 날을 내가 기다리므로 내 뼈에 썩이는 것이 들어왔으며 내 몸은 내 처소에서 떨리는도다
  I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.

17. 비록 무화과나무가 무성치 못하며 포도나무에 열매가 없으며 감람나무에 소출이 없으며 밭에 식물이 없으며 우리에 양이 없으며외양간에 소가 없을찌라도
  Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,

18. 나는 여호와를 인하여 즐거워하며 나의 구원의 하나님을 인하여 기뻐하리로다
  yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19. 주 여호와는 나의 힘이시라 나의 발을 사슴과 같게 하사 나로 나의 높은 곳에 다니게 하시리로다 이 노래는 영장을 위하여 내 수금에 맞춘 것이니라
  The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.

누가복음 22

1. 유월절이라 하는 무교절이 가까우매
  Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,

2. 대제사장들과 서기관들이 예수를 무슨 방책으로 죽일꼬 연구하니 이는 저희가 백성을 두려워함이더라
  and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.

3. 열둘 중에 하나인 가룟인이라 부르는 유다에게 사단이 들어가니
  Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.

4. 이에 유다가 대제사장들과 군관들에게 가서 예수를 넘겨 줄 방책을 의논하매
  And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.

5. 저희가 기뻐하여 돈을 주기로 언약하는지라
  They were delighted and agreed to give him money.

6. 유다가 허락하고 예수를 무리가 없을 때에 넘겨 줄 기회를 찾더라
  He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.

7. 유월절 양을 잡을 무교절일이 이른지라
  Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

8. 예수께서 베드로와 요한을 보내시며 가라사대 가서 우리를 위하여 유월절을 예비하여 우리로 먹게 하라
  Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover."

9. 여짜오되 어디서 예비하기를 원하시나이까
  "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked.

10. 이르시되 보라 너희가 성내로 들어가면 물 한 동이를 가지고 가는 사람을 만나리니 그의 들어가는 집으로 따라 들어가서
  He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters,

11. 그 집주인에게 이르되 선생님이 네게 하는 말씀이 내가 내 제자들과 함께 유월절을 먹을 객실이 어디 있느뇨 하시더라 하라
  and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'

12. 그리하면 저가 자리를 베푼 큰 다락방을 보이리니 거기서 예비하라 하신대
  He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."

13. 저희가 나가 그 하시던 말씀대로 만나 유월절을 예비하니라
  They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

14. 때가 이르매 예수께서 사도들과 함께 앉으사
  When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table.

15. 이르시되 내가 고난을 받기 전에 너희와 함께 이 유월절 먹기를 원하고 원하였노라
  And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

16. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이 유월절이 하나님의 나라에서 이루기까지 다시 먹지 아니하리라 하시고
  For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God."

17. 이에 잔을 받으사 사례하시고 가라사대 이것을 갖다가 너희끼리 나누라
  After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you.

18. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 내가 이제부터 하나님의 나라가 임할 때까지 포도나무에서 난 것을 다시 마시지 아니하리라 하시고
  For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."

19. 또 떡을 가져 사례하시고 떼어 저희에게 주시며 가라사대 이것은 너희를 위하여 주는 내 몸이라 너희가 이를 행하여 나를 기념하라 하시고
  And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."

20. 저녁 먹은 후에 잔도 이와 같이 하여 가라사대 이 잔은 내 피로 세우는 새 언약이니 곧 너희를 위하여 붓는 것이라
  In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

21. 그러나 보라 나를 파는 자의 손이 나와 함께 상 위에 있도다
  But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table.

22. 인자는 이미 작정된 대로 가거니와 그를 파는 그 사람에게는 화가 있으리로다 하시니
  The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed, but woe to that man who betrays him."

23. 저희가 서로 묻되 우리 중에서 이 일을 행할 자가 누구일까 하더라
  They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.

24. 또 저희 사이에 그 중 누가 크냐 하는 다툼이 난지라
  Also a dispute arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.

25. 예수께서 이르시되 이방인의 임금들은 저희를 주관하며 그 집권자들은 은인이라 칭함을 받으나
  Jesus said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors.

26. 너희는 그렇지 않을찌니 너희 중에 큰 자는 젊은 자와 같고 두목은 섬기는 자와 같을찌니라
  But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.

27. 앉아서 먹는 자가 크냐 섬기는 자가 크냐 앉아 먹는 자가 아니냐 그러나 나는 섬기는 자로 너희 중에 있노라
  For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

28. 너희는 나의 모든 시험 중에 항상 나와 함께한 자들인즉
  You are those who have stood by me in my trials.

29. 내 아버지께서 나라를 내게 맡기신 것같이 나도 너희에게 맡겨
  And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me,

30. 너희로 내 나라에 있어 내 상에서 먹고 마시며 또는 보좌에 앉아 이스라엘 열두 지파를 다스리게 하려 하노라
  so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

31. 시몬아, 시몬아, 보라 사단이 밀 까부르듯 하려고 너희를 청구하였으나
  "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.

32. 그러나 내가 너를 위하여 네 믿음이 떨어지지 않기를 기도하였노니 너는 돌이킨 후에 네 형제를 굳게 하라
  But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

33. 저가 말하되 주여 내가 주와 함께 옥에도, 죽는 데도 가기를 준비하였나이다
  But he replied, "Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death."

34. 가라사대 베드로야 내가 네게 말하노니 오늘 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 모른다고 부인하리라 하시니라
  Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me."

35. 저희에게 이르시되 내가 너희를 전대와 주머니와 신도 없이 보내었을 때에 부족한 것이 있더냐 가로되 없었나이다
  Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" "Nothing," they answered.

36. 이르시되 이제는 전대 있는 자는 가질 것이요 주머니도 그리하고 검 없는 자는 겉옷을 팔아 살찌어다
  He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

37. 내가 너희에게 말하노니 기록된 바 저는 불법자의 동류로 여김을 받았다 한 말이 내게 이루어져야 하리니 내게 관한 일이 이루어 감이니라
  It is written: 'And he was numbered with the transgressors'; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment."

38. 저희가 여짜오되 주여 보소서 여기 검 둘이 있나이다 대답하시되 족하다 하시니라
  The disciples said, "See, Lord, here are two swords." "That is enough," he replied.

39. 예수께서 나가사 습관을 좇아 감람 산에 가시매 제자들도 좇았더니
  Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him.

40. 그 곳에 이르러 저희에게 이르시되 시험에 들지 않기를 기도하라 하시고
  On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation."

41. 저희를 떠나 돌 던질 만큼 가서 무릎을 꿇고 기도하여
  He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,

42. 가라사대 아버지여 만일 아버지의 뜻이어든 이 잔을 내게서 옮기시옵소서 그러나 내 원대로 마옵시고 아버지의 원대로 되기를 원하나이다 하시니
  "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

43. 사자가 하늘로부터 예수께 나타나 힘을 돕더라
  An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

44. 예수께서 힘쓰고 애써 더욱 간절히 기도하시니 땀이 땅에 떨어지는 피 방울같이 되더라
  And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

45. 기도 후에 일어나 제자들에게 가서 슬픔을 인하여 잠든 것을 보시고
  When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.

46. 이르시되 어찌하여 자느냐 시험에 들지 않게 일어나 기도하라 하시니라
  "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."

47. 말씀하실 때에 한 무리가 오는데 열둘 중에 하나인 유다라 하는 자가 그들의 앞에 서서 와서
  While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him,

48. 예수께 입을 맞추려고 가까이 하는지라 예수께서 이르시되 유다야 네가 입맞춤으로 인자를 파느냐 하시니
  but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"

49. 좌우가 그 될 일을 보고 여짜오되 주여 우리가 검으로 치리이까 하고
  When Jesus' followers saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, should we strike with our swords?"

50. 그 중에 한 사람이 대제사장의 종을 쳐 그 오른편 귀를 떨어뜨린지라
  And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.

51. 예수께서 일러 가라사대 이것까지 참으라 하시고 그 귀를 만져 낫게 하시더라
  But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched the man's ear and healed him.

52. 예수께서 그 잡으러 온 대제사장들과 성전의 군관들과 장로들에게 이르시되 너희가 강도를 잡는 것같이 검과 몽치를 가지고 나왔느냐
  Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?

53. 내가 날마다 너희와 함께 성전에 있을 때에 내게 손을 대지 아니하였도다 그러나 이제는 너희 때요 어두움의 권세로다 하시더라
  Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour--when darkness reigns."

54. 예수를 잡아 끌고 대제사장의 집으로 들어갈쌔 베드로가 멀찍이 따라가니라
  Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance.

55. 사람들이 뜰 가운데 불을 피우고 함께 앉았는지라 베드로도 그 가운데 앉았더니
  But when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them.

56. 한 비자가 베드로의 불빛을 향하여 앉은 것을 보고 주목하여 가로되 이 사람도 그와 함께 있었느니라 하니
  A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, "This man was with him."

57. 베드로가 부인하여 가로되 이 여자여 내가 저를 알지 못하노라 하더라
  But he denied it. "Woman, I don't know him," he said.

58. 조금 후에 다른 사람이 보고 가로되 너도 그 당이라 하거늘 베드로가 가로되 이 사람아 나는 아니로라 하더라
  A little later someone else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." "Man, I am not!" Peter replied.

59. 한 시쯤 있다가 또 한 사람이 장담하여 가로되 이는 갈릴리 사람이니 참으로 그와 함께 있었느니라
  About an hour later another asserted, "Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean."

60. 베드로가 가로되 이 사람아 나는 너 하는 말을 알지 못하노라고 방금 말할 때에 닭이 곧 울더라
  Peter replied, "Man, I don't know what you're talking about!" Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.

61. 주께서 돌이켜 베드로를 보시니 베드로가 주의 말씀 곧 오늘 닭 울기 전에 네가 세 번 나를 부인하리라 하심이 생각나서
  The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times."

62. 밖에 나가서 심히 통곡하니라
  And he went outside and wept bitterly.

63. 지키는 사람들이 예수를 희롱하고 때리며
  The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him.

64. 그의 눈을 가리우고 물어 가로되 선지자 노릇 하라 너를 친 자가 누구냐 하고
  They blindfolded him and demanded, "Prophesy! Who hit you?"

65. 이 외에도 많은 말로 욕하더라
  And they said many other insulting things to him.

66. 날이 새매 백성의 장로들 곧 대제사장들과 서기관들이 모이어 예수를 그 공회로 끌어들여
  At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and teachers of the law, met together, and Jesus was led before them.

67. 가로되 네가 그리스도여든 우리에게 말하라 대답하시되 내가 말할찌라도 너희가 믿지 아니할 것이요
  "If you are the Christ," they said, "tell us." Jesus answered, "If I tell you, you will not believe me,

68. 내가 물어도 너희가 대답지 아니할 것이니라
  and if I asked you, you would not answer.

69. 그러나 이제 후로는 인자가 하나님의 권능의 우편에 앉아 있으리라 하시니
  But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."

70. 다 가로되 그러면 네가 하나님의 아들이냐 대답하시되 너희 말과 같이 내가 그니라
  They all asked, "Are you then the Son of God?" He replied, "You are right in saying I am."

71. 저희가 가로되 어찌 더 증거를 요구하리요 우리가 친히 그 입에서 들었노라 하더라
  Then they said, "Why do we need any more testimony? We have heard it from his own lips."
