역대하 1

1. 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 왕위가 견고하여 가며 그 하나님 여호와께서 저와 함께 하사 심히 창대케 하시니라
  Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom, for the LORD his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.

2. 솔로몬이 온 이스라엘의 천부장과 백부장과 재판관과 온 이스라엘의 각 방백과 족장들을 명하고
  Then Solomon spoke to all Israel--to the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, to the judges and to all the leaders in Israel, the heads of families--

3. 온 회중과 함께 기브온 산당으로 갔으니 하나님의 회막 곧 여호와의 종 모세가 광야에서 지은 것이 거기 있음이라
  and Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at Gibeon, for God's Tent of Meeting was there, which Moses the LORD'S servant had made in the desert.

4. 다윗이 전에 예루살렘에서 하나님의 궤를 위하여 장막을 쳤었으므로 그 궤는 다윗이 이미 기럇여아림에서부터 위하여 예비한 곳으로 메어 올렸고
  Now David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.

5. 옛적에 훌의 손자 우리의 아들 브살렐의 지은 놋단은 여호와의 장막 앞에 있더라 솔로몬이 회중으로 더불어 나아가서
  But the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was in Gibeon in front of the tabernacle of the LORD; so Solomon and the assembly inquired of him there.

6. 여호와 앞 곧 회막 앞에 있는 놋단에 이르러 그 위에 일천 희생으로 번제를 드렸더라
  Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.

7. 이 밤에 하나님이 솔로몬에게 나타나사 이르시되 내가 네게 무엇을 줄꼬 너는 구하라
  That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."

8. 솔로몬이 하나님께 여짜오되 주께서 전에 큰 은혜를 나의 아비 다윗에게 베푸시고 나로 대신하여 왕이 되게 하셨사오니
  Solomon answered God, "You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.

9. 여호와 하나님이여 원컨대 주는 내 아비 다윗에게 허하신 것을 이제 굳게 하옵소서 주께서 나로 땅의 티끌같이 많은 백성의 왕을 삼으셨사오니
  Now, LORD God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.

10. 주는 이제 내게 지혜와 지식을 주사 이 백성 앞에서 출입하게 하옵소서 이렇게 많은 주의 백성을 누가 능히 재판하리이까
  Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?"

11. 하나님이 솔로몬에게 이르시되 이런 마음이 네게 있어서 부나 재물이나 존영이나 원수의 생명 멸하기를 구하지 아니하며 장수도 구하지 아니하고 오직 내가 너로 치리하게 한 내 백성을 재판하기 위하여 지혜와 지식을 구하였으니
  God said to Solomon, "Since this is your heart's desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,

12. 그러므로 내가 네게 지혜와 지식을 주고 부와 재물과 존영도 주리니 너의 전의 왕들이 이 같음이 없었거니와 너의 후에도 이 같음이 없으리라
  therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have."

13. 이에 솔로몬이 기브온 산당 회막 앞에서부터 예루살렘으로 돌아와서 이스라엘을 치리하였더라
  Then Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting. And he reigned over Israel.

14. 솔로몬이 병거와 마병을 모으매 병거가 일천 사백이요 마병이 일만 이천이라 병거성에도 두고 예루살렘 왕에게도 두었으며
  Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.

15. 왕이 예루살렘에서 은금을 돌같이 흔하게 하고 백향목을 평지의 뽕나무같이 많게 하였더라
  The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.

16. 솔로몬의 말들은 애굽에서 내어 왔으니 왕의 상고들이 떼로 정가하여 산 것이며
  Solomon's horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue--the royal merchants purchased them from Kue.

17. 애굽에서 내어 올린 병거는 하나에 은 육백 세겔이요 말은 일백오십 세겔이라 이와 같이 헷 사람의 모든 왕과 아람 왕들을 위하여도 그 손으로 내어 왔었더라
  They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.

요한일서 1

1. 태초부터 있는 생명의 말씀에 관하여는 우리가 들은 바요 눈으로 본 바요 주목하고 우리 손으로 만진 바라
  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

2. 이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증거하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 자니라
  The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

3. 우리가 보고 들은 바를 너희에게도 전함은 너희로 우리와 사귐이 있게 하려 함이니 우리의 사귐은 아버지와 그 아들 예수 그리스도와 함께 함이라
  We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

4. 우리가 이것을 씀은 우리의 기쁨이 충만케 하려 함이로라
  We write this to make our joy complete.

5. 우리가 저에게서 듣고 너희에게 전하는 소식이 이것이니 곧 하나님은 빛이시라 그에게는 어두움이 조금도 없으시니라
  This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

6. 만일 우리가 하나님과 사귐이 있다 하고 어두운 가운데 행하면 거짓말을 하고 진리를 행치 아니함이거니와
  If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

7. 저가 빛 가운데 계신 것같이 우리도 빛 가운데 행하면 우리가 서로 사귐이 있고 그 아들 예수의 피가 우리를 모든 죄에서 깨끗하게 하실 것이요
  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8. 만일 우리가 죄 없다 하면 스스로 속이고 또 진리가 우리 속에 있지 아니할 것이요
  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9. 만일 우리가 우리 죄를 자백하면 저는 미쁘시고 의로우사 우리 죄를 사하시며 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗케 하실 것이요
  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

10. 만일 우리가 범죄하지 아니하였다 하면 하나님을 거짓말하는 자로 만드는 것이니 또한 그의 말씀이 우리 속에 있지 아니하니라
  If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

미가 7

1. 재앙이로다 나여 나는 여름 실과를 딴 후와 포도를 거둔 후 같아서 먹을 송이가 없으며 내 마음에 사모하는 처음 익은 무화과가 없도다
  What misery is mine! I am like one who gathers summer fruit at the gleaning of the vineyard; there is no cluster of grapes to eat, none of the early figs that I crave.

2. 이와 같이 선인이 세상에서 끊쳤고 정직자가 인간에 없도다 무리가 다 피를 흘리려고 매복하며 각기 그물로 형제를 잡으려 하고
  The godly have been swept from the land; not one upright man remains. All men lie in wait to shed blood; each hunts his brother with a net.

3. 두 손으로 악을 부지런히 행하도다 그 군장과 재판자는 뇌물을 구하며 대인은 마음의 악한 사욕을 발하며 서로 연락을 취하니
  Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire--they all conspire together.

4. 그들의 가장 선한 자라도 가시 같고 가장 정직한 자라도 찔레 울타리보다 더하도다 그들의 파숫군들의 날 곧 그들의 형벌의 날이 임하였으니 이제는 그들이 요란하리로다
  The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen has come, the day God visits you. Now is the time of their confusion.

5. 너희는 이웃을 믿지 말며 친구를 의지하지 말며 네 품에 누운 여인에게라도 네 입의 문을 지킬찌어다
  Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Even with her who lies in your embrace be careful of your words.

6. 아들이 아비를 멸시하며 딸이 어미를 대적하며 며느리가 시어미를 대적하리니 사람의 원수가 곧 자기의 집안 사람이리로다
  For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises up against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law--a man's enemies are the members of his own household.

7. 오직 나는 여호와를 우러러 보며 나를 구원하시는 하나님을 바라보나니 나의 하나님이 나를 들으시리로다
  But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

8. 나의 대적이여 나로 인하여 기뻐하지 말찌어다 나는 엎드러질찌라도 일어날 것이요 어두운데 앉을찌라도 여호와께서 나의 빛이 되실 것임이로다
  Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.

9. 내가 여호와께 범죄하였으니 주께서 나를 위하여 심판하사 신원하시기까지는 그의 노를 당하려니와 주께서 나를 인도하사 광명에 이르게 하시리니 내가 그의 의를 보리로다
  Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the LORD'S wrath, until he pleads my case and establishes my right. He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness.

10. 나의 대적이 이것을 보고 부끄러워하리니 그는 전에 내게 말하기를 네 하나님 여호와가 어디 있느냐 하던 자라 그가 거리의 진흙같이 밟히리니 그것을 내가 목도하리로다
  Then my enemy will see it and will be covered with shame, she who said to me, "Where is the LORD your God?" My eyes will see her downfall; even now she will be trampled underfoot like mire in the streets.

11. 네 성벽을 건축하는 날 곧 그 날에는 지경이 넓혀질 것이라
  The day for building your walls will come, the day for extending your boundaries.

12. 그 날에는 앗수르에서 애굽 성읍들에까지, 애굽에서 하수까지, 이 바다에서 저 바다까지, 이 산에서 저 산까지의 사람들이 네게로 돌아올 것이나
  In that day people will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, even from Egypt to the Euphrates and from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.

13. 그 땅은 그 거민의 행위의 열매로 인하여 황무하리로다
  The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, as the result of their deeds.

14. 원컨대 주는 주의 지팡이로 주의 백성 곧 갈멜 속 삼림에 홀로 거하는 주의 기업의 떼를 먹이시되 그들을 옛날같이 바산과 길르앗에서 먹이옵소서
  Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, which lives by itself in a forest, in fertile pasturelands. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead as in days long ago.

15. 가라사대 네가 애굽 땅에서 나오던 날과 같이 내가 그들에게 기사를 보이리라
  "As in the days when you came out of Egypt, I will show them my wonders."

16. 가로되 열방이 보고 자기의 세력을 부끄려서 손으로 그 입을 막을 것이요 귀는 막힐 것이오며
  Nations will see and be ashamed, deprived of all their power. They will lay their hands on their mouths and their ears will become deaf.

17. 그들이 뱀처럼 티끌을 핥으며 땅에 기는 벌레처럼 떨며 그 좁은 구멍에서 나와서 두려워하며 우리 하나님 여호와께로 돌아와서 주로 인하여 두려워하리이다
  They will lick dust like a snake, like creatures that crawl on the ground. They will come trembling out of their dens; they will turn in fear to the LORD our God and will be afraid of you.

18. 주와 같은 신이 어디 있으리이까 주께서는 죄악을 사유하시며 그 기업의 남은 자의 허물을 넘기시며 인애를 기뻐하심으로 노를 항상 품지 아니하시나이다
  Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

19. 다시 우리를 긍휼히 여기셔서 우리의 죄악을 발로 밟으시고 우리의 모든 죄를 깊은 바다에 던지시리이다
  You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

20. 주께서 옛적에 우리 열조에게 맹세하신 대로 야곱에게 성실을 베푸시며 아브라함에게 인애를 더하시리이다
  You will be true to Jacob, and show mercy to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our fathers in days long ago.

누가복음 16

1. 또한 제자들에게 이르시되 어떤 부자에게 청지기가 있는데 그가 주인의 소유를 허비한다는 말이 그 주인에게 들린지라
  Jesus told his disciples: "There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions.

2. 주인이 저를 불러 가로되 내가 네게 대하여 들은 이 말이 어찜이뇨 네 보던 일을 셈하라 청지기 사무를 계속하지 못하리라 하니
  So he called him in and asked him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.'

3. 청지기가 속으로 이르되 주인이 내 직분을 빼앗으니 내가 무엇을 할꼬 땅을 파자니 힘이 없고 빌어 먹자니 부끄럽구나
  "The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do now? My master is taking away my job. I'm not strong enough to dig, and I'm ashamed to beg--

4. 내가 할 일을 알았도다 이렇게 하면 직분을 빼앗긴 후에 저희가 나를 자기 집으로 영접하리라 하고
  I know what I'll do so that, when I lose my job here, people will welcome me into their houses.'

5. 주인에게 빚진 자를 낱낱이 불러다가 먼저 온 자에게 이르되 네가 내 주인에게 얼마나 졌느뇨
  "So he called in each one of his master's debtors. He asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'

6. 말하되 기름 백 말이니이다 가로되 여기 네 증서를 가지고 빨리 앉아 오십이라 쓰라 하고
  "'Eight hundred gallons of olive oil,' he replied. "The manager told him, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and make it four hundred.'

7. 또 다른 이에게 이르되 너는 얼마나 졌느뇨 가로되 밀 백 석이니이다 이르되 여기 네 증서를 가지고 팔십이라 쓰라 하였는지라
  "Then he asked the second, 'And how much do you owe?' "'A thousand bushels of wheat,' he replied. "He told him, 'Take your bill and make it eight hundred.'

8. 주인이 이 옳지 않은 청지기가 일을 지혜 있게 하였으므로 칭찬하였으니 이 세대의 아들들이 자기 시대에 있어서는 빛의 아들들보다 더 지혜로움이니라
  "The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.

9. 내가 너희에게 말하노니 불의의 재물로 친구를 사귀라 그리하면 없어질 때에 저희가 영원한 처소로 너희를 영접하리라
  I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.

10. 지극히 작은 것에 충성된 자는 큰 것에도 충성되고 지극히 작은 것에 불의한 자는 큰 것에도 불의하니라
  "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

11. 너희가 만일 불의한 재물에 충성치 아니하면 누가 참된 것으로 너희에게 맡기겠느냐
  So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

12. 너희가 만일 남의 것에 충성치 아니하면 누가 너희의 것을 너희에게 주겠느냐
  And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?

13. 집 하인이 두 주인을 섬길 수 없나니 혹 이를 미워하고 저를 사랑하거나 혹 이를 중히 여기고 저를 경히 여길 것임이니라 너희가 하나님과 재물을 겸하여 섬길 수 없느니라
  "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

14. 바리새인들은 돈을 좋아하는 자라 이 모든 것을 듣고 비웃거늘
  The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.

15. 예수께서 이르시되 너희는 사람 앞에서 스스로 옳다 하는 자이나 너희 마음을 하나님께서 아시나니 사람 중에 높임을 받는 그것은 하나님 앞에 미움을 받는 것이니라
  He said to them, "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.

16. 율법과 선지자는 요한의 때까지요 그 후부터는 하나님 나라의 복음이 전파되어 사람마다 그리로 침입하느니라
  "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

17. 그러나 율법의 한 획이 떨어짐보다 천지의 없어짐이 쉬우리라
  It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.

18. 무릇 그 아내를 버리고 다른 데 장가드는 자도 간음함이요 무릇 버리운 이에게 장가드는 자도 간음함이니라
  "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

19. 한 부자가 있어 자색 옷과 고운 베옷을 입고 날마다 호화로이 연락하는데
  "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.

20. 나사로라 이름한 한 거지가 헌데를 앓으며 그 부자의 대문에 누워
  At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores

21. 부자의 상에서 떨어지는 것으로 배불리려 하매 심지어 개들이 와서 그 헌데를 핥더라
  and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22. 이에 그 거지가 죽어 천사들에게 받들려 아브라함의 품에 들어가고 부자도 죽어 장사되매
  "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.

23. 저가 음부에서 고통 중에 눈을 들어 멀리 아브라함과 그의 품에 있는 나사로를 보고
  In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

24. 불러 가로되 아버지 아브라함이여 나를 긍휼히 여기사 나사로를 보내어 그 손가락 끝에 물을 찍어 내 혀를 서늘하게 하소서 내가 이 불꽃 가운데서 고민하나이다
  So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

25. 아브라함이 가로되 얘 너는 살았을 때에 네 좋은 것을 받았고 나사로는 고난을 받았으니 이것을 기억하라 이제 저는 여기서 위로를 받고 너는 고민을 받느니라
  "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

26. 이뿐 아니라 너희와 우리 사이에 큰 구렁이 끼어 있어 여기서 너희에게 건너가고자 하되 할 수 없고 거기서 우리에게 건너올 수도 없게 하였느니라
  And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

27. 가로되 그러면 구하노니 아버지여 나사로를 내 아버지의 집에 보내소서
  "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house,

28. 내 형제 다섯이 있으니 저희에게 증거하게 하여 저희로 이 고통받는 곳에 오지 않게 하소서
  for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29. 아브라함이 가로되 저희에게 모세와 선지자들이 있으니 그들에게 들을찌니라
  "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

30. 가로되 그렇지 아니하니이다 아버지 아브라함이여 만일 죽은 자에게서 저희에게 가는 자가 있으면 회개하리이다
  "'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

31. 가로되 모세와 선지자들에게 듣지 아니하면 비록 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나는 자가 있을찌라도 권함을 받지 아니하리라 하였다 하시니라
  "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"
