역대하 3-4

1. 솔로몬이 예루살렘 모리아 산에 여호와의 전 건축하기를 시작하니 그 곳은 전에 여호와께서 그 아비 다윗에게 나타나신 곳이요 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작 마당에 다윗이 정한 곳이라
  Then Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.

2. 솔로몬이 왕위에 나아간 지 사 년 이월 초이일에 건축하기를 시작하였더라
  He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

3. 솔로몬이 하나님의 전을 위하여 놓은 지대는 이러하니 옛적 재는 법대로 장이 육십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이며
  The foundation Solomon laid for building the temple of God was sixty cubits long and twenty cubits wide (using the cubit of the old standard).

4. 그 전 앞 낭실의 장이 전의 광과 같이 이십 규빗이요 고가 일백이십 규빗이니 안에는 정금으로 입혔으며
  The portico at the front of the temple was twenty cubits long across the width of the building and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

5. 그 대전 천장은 잣나무로 만들고 또 정금으로 입히고 그 위에 종려나무와 사슬 형상을 새겼고
  He paneled the main hall with pine and covered it with fine gold and decorated it with palm tree and chain designs.

6. 또 보석으로 전을 꾸며 화려하게 하였으니 그 금은 바르와임 금이며
  He adorned the temple with precious stones. And the gold he used was gold of Parvaim.

7. 또 금으로 전과 그 들보와 문지방과 벽과 문짝에 입히고 벽에 그룹들을 아로새겼더라
  He overlaid the ceiling beams, doorframes, walls and doors of the temple with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.

8. 또 지성소를 지었으니 전 넓이대로 장이 이십 규빗이요 광도 이십 규빗이라 정금 육백 달란트로 입혔으니
  He built the Most Holy Place, its length corresponding to the width of the temple--twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. He overlaid the inside with six hundred talents of fine gold.

9. 못 중수가 오십 금 세겔이요 다락들도 금으로 입혔더라
  The gold nails weighed fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper parts with gold.

10. 지성소 안에 두 그룹의 형상을 새겨 만들어 금으로 입혔으니
  In the Most Holy Place he made a pair of sculptured cherubim and overlaid them with gold.

11. 두 그룹의 날개 길이가 모두 이십 규빗이라 좌편 그룹의 한 날개는 다섯 규빗이니 전 벽에 닿았고 그 한 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 우편 그룹의 날개에 닿았으며
  The total wingspan of the cherubim was twenty cubits. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long and touched the temple wall, while its other wing, also five cubits long, touched the wing of the other cherub.

12. 우편 그룹의 한 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 전 벽에 닿았고 그 한 날개도 다섯 규빗이니 좌편 그룹의 날개에 닿았으니
  Similarly one wing of the second cherub was five cubits long and touched the other temple wall, and its other wing, also five cubits long, touched the wing of the first cherub.

13. 이 두 그룹의 편 날개가 모두 이십 규빗이라 그 얼굴을 외소로 향하고 서 있으며
  The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits. They stood on their feet, facing the main hall.

14. 청색 자색 홍색실과 고운 베로 문장을 짓고 그 위에 그룹의 형상을 수놓았더라
  He made the curtain of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, with cherubim worked into it.

15. 전 앞에 기둥 둘을 만들었으니 고가 삼십오 규빗이요 각 기둥 꼭대기의 머리가 다섯 규빗이라
  In the front of the temple he made two pillars, which together were thirty-five cubits long, each with a capital on top measuring five cubits.

16. 성소같이 사슬을 만들어 그 기둥 머리에 두르고 석류 일백 개를 만들어 사슬에 달았으며
  He made interwoven chains and put them on top of the pillars. He also made a hundred pomegranates and attached them to the chains.

17. 그 두 기둥을 외소 앞에 세웠으니 좌편에 하나요 우편에 하나라 우편 것은 야긴이라 칭하고 좌편 것은 보아스라 칭하였더라
  He erected the pillars in the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.

1. 솔로몬이 또 놋으로 단을 만들었으니 장이 이십 규빗이요 광이 이십 규빗이요 고가 십 규빗이며
  He made a bronze altar twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high.

2. 또 바다를 부어 만들었으니 직경이 십 규빗이요 그 모양이 둥글며 그 고는 다섯 규빗이요 주위는 삼십 규빗 줄을 두를 만하며
  He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it.

3. 그 가장자리 아래에는 돌아가며 소 형상이 있는데 매규빗에 소가 열씩 있어서 바다 주위에 둘렸으니 그 소는 바다를 부어 만들 때에 두 줄로 부어 만들었으며
  Below the rim, figures of bulls encircled it--ten to a cubit. The bulls were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea.

4. 그 바다를 열두 소가 받쳤으니 셋은 북을 향하였고 셋은 서를 향하였고 셋은 남을 향하였고 셋은 동을 향하였으며 바다를 그 위에 놓았고 소의 뒤는 다 안으로 두었으며
  The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were toward the center.

5. 바다의 두께는 한 손 넓이만 하고 그 가는 백합화의 식양으로 잔 가와 같이 만들었으니 그 바다에는 삼천 밧을 담겠으며
  It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held three thousand baths.

6. 또 물두멍 열을 만들어 다섯은 우편에 두고 다섯은 좌편에 두어 씻게 하되 번제에 속한 물건을 거기 씻게 하였으며 그 바다는 제사장들의 씻기를 위한 것이더라
  He then made ten basins for washing and placed five on the south side and five on the north. In them the things to be used for the burnt offerings were rinsed, but the Sea was to be used by the priests for washing.

7. 또 정식을 따라 금으로 등대 열을 만들어 외소 안에 두었으니 좌편에 다섯이요 우편에 다섯이며
  He made ten gold lampstands according to the specifications for them and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north.

8. 또 상 열을 만들어 외소 안에 두었으니 좌편에 다섯이요 우편에 다섯이며 또 금으로 대접 일백을 만들었고
  He made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. He also made a hundred gold sprinkling bowls.

9. 또 제사장의 뜰과 큰 뜰과 뜰 문을 만들고 놋으로 그 문짝에 입혔고
  He made the courtyard of the priests, and the large court and the doors for the court, and overlaid the doors with bronze.

10. 그 바다는 전 우편 동남방에 두었더라
  He placed the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner.

11. 후람이 또 솥과 부삽과 대접을 만들었더라 이와 같이 후람이 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 하나님의 전에서 하는 일을 마쳤으니
  He also made the pots and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of God:

12. 곧 기둥 둘과 그 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 머리 둘과 또 기둥 꼭대기의 공 같은 기둥 머리를 가리우는 그물 둘과
  the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars;

13. 또 그 그물들을 위하여 만든 바 매그물에 두 줄씩으로 기둥 위의 공 같은 두 머리를 가리우게 한 사백 석류와
  the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network, decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars);

14. 또 받침과 받침 위의 물두멍과
  the stands with their basins;

15. 한 바다와 그 바다 아래 열두 소와
  the Sea and the twelve bulls under it;

16. 솥과 부삽과 고기 갈고리와 여호와의 전의 모든 그릇들이라 후람의 아비가 솔로몬 왕을 위하여 빛난 놋으로 만들 때에
  the pots, shovels, meat forks and all related articles. All the objects that Huram-Abi made for King Solomon for the temple of the LORD were of polished bronze.

17. 왕이 요단 평지에서 숙곳과 스레다 사이의 차진 흙에 그것들을 부어 내었더라
  The king had them cast in clay molds in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth and Zarethan.

18. 이와 같이 솔로몬이 이 모든 기구를 심히 많이 만들었으므로 그 놋 중수를 능히 측량할 수 없었더라
  All these things that Solomon made amounted to so much that the weight of the bronze was not determined.

19. 솔로몬이 또 하나님의 전의 모든 기구를 만들었으니 곧 금단과 진설병 상들과
  Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in God's temple: the golden altar; the tables on which was the bread of the Presence;

20. 내소 앞에서 규례대로 불을 켤 정금 등대와 그 등잔이며
  the lampstands of pure gold with their lamps, to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed;

21. 또 순정한 금으로 만든 꽃과 등잔과 화젓가락이며
  the gold floral work and lamps and tongs (they were solid gold);

22. 또 정금으로 만든 불집게와 주발과 숟가락과 불 옮기는 그릇이며 또 전 문 곧 지성소의 문과 외소의 문을 금으로 입혔더라
  the pure gold wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold doors of the temple: the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and the doors of the main hall.

요한일서 3

1. 보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 주사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 얻게 하셨는고, 우리가 그러하도다 그러므로 세상이 우리를 알지 못함은 그를 알지 못함이니라
  How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

2. 사랑하는 자들아 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라 장래에 어떻게 될 것은 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나 그가 나타내심이 되면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 계신 그대로 볼 것을 인함이니
  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

3. 주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라
  Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

4. 죄를 짓는 자마다 불법을 행하나니 죄는 불법이라
  Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

5. 그가 우리 죄를 없이 하려고 나타내신 바 된 것을 너희가 아나니 그에게는 죄가 없느니라
  But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.

6. 그 안에 거하는 자마다 범죄하지 아니하나니 범죄하는 자마다 그를 보지도 못하였고 그를 알지도 못하였느니라
  No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

7. 자녀들아 아무도 너희를 미혹하지 못하게 하라 의를 행하는 자는 그의 의로우심과 같이 의롭고
  Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

8. 죄를 짓는 자는 마귀에게 속하나니 마귀는 처음부터 범죄함이니라 하나님의 아들이 나타나신 것은 마귀의 일을 멸하려 하심이니라
  He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.

9. 하나님께로서 난 자마다 죄를 짓지 아니하나니 이는 하나님의 씨가 그의 속에 거함이요 저도 범죄치 못하는 것은 하나님께로서 났음이라
  No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

10. 이러므로 하나님의 자녀들과 마귀의 자녀들이 나타나나니 무릇 의를 행치 아니하는 자나 또는 그 형제를 사랑치 아니하는 자는 하나님께 속하지 아니하니라
  This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

11. 우리가 서로 사랑할찌니 이는 너희가 처음부터 들은 소식이라
  This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

12. 가인같이 하지 말라 저는 악한 자에게 속하여 그 아우를 죽였으니 어찐 연고로 죽였느뇨 자기의 행위는 악하고 그 아우의 행위는 의로움이니라
  Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous.

13. 형제들아 세상이 너희를 미워하거든 이상히 여기지 말라
  Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

14. 우리가 형제를 사랑함으로 사망에서 옮겨 생명으로 들어간 줄을 알거니와 사랑치 아니하는 자는 사망에 거하느니라
  We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

15. 그 형제를 미워하는 자마다 살인하는 자니 살인하는 자마다 영생이 그 속에 거하지 아니하는 것을 너희가 아는 바라
  Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

16. 그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고 우리도 형제들을 위하여 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅하니라
  This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

17. 누가 이 세상 재물을 가지고 형제의 궁핍함을 보고도 도와 줄 마음을 막으면 하나님의 사랑이 어찌 그 속에 거할까 보냐
  If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

18. 자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 오직 행함과 진실함으로 하자
  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

19. 이로써 우리가 진리에 속한 줄을 알고 또 우리 마음을 주 앞에서 굳세게 하리로다
  This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence

20. 우리 마음이 혹 우리를 책망할 일이 있거든 하물며 우리 마음보다 크시고 모든 것을 아시는 하나님일까 보냐
  whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

21. 사랑하는 자들아 만일 우리 마음이 우리를 책망할 것이 없으면 하나님 앞에서 담대함을 얻고
  Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

22. 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 그에게 받나니 이는 우리가 그의 계명들을 지키고 그 앞에서 기뻐하시는 것을 행함이라
  and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

23. 그의 계명은 이것이니 곧 그 아들 예수 그리스도의 이름을 믿고 그가 우리에게 주신 계명대로 서로 사랑할 것이니라
  And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

24. 그의 계명들을 지키는 자는 주 안에 거하고 주는 저 안에 거하시나니 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 그가 우리 안에 거하시는 줄을 우리가 아느니라
  Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

나훔 2

1. 파괴하는 자가 너를 치러 올라왔나니 너는 산성을 지키며 길을 파수하며 네 허리를 견고히 묶고 네 힘을 크게 굳게 할찌어다
  An attacker advances against you, Nineveh. Guard the fortress, watch the road, brace yourselves, marshal all your strength!

2. 여호와께서 야곱의 영광을 회복하시되 이스라엘의 영광 같게 하시나니 이는 약탈자들이 약탈하였고 또 그 포도나무 가지를 없이 하였음이라
  The LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel, though destroyers have laid them waste and have ruined their vines.

3. 그의 용사들의 방패는 붉고 그의 무사들의 옷도 붉으며 그 항오를 벌이는 날에 병거의 철이 번쩍이고 노송나무 창이 요동하는도다
  The shields of his soldiers are red; the warriors are clad in scarlet. The metal on the chariots flashes on the day they are made ready; the spears of pine are brandished.

4. 그 병거는 거리에 미치게 달리며 대로에서 이리저리 빨리 가니 그 모양이 횃불 같고 빠르기 번개 같도다
  The chariots storm through the streets, rushing back and forth through the squares. They look like flaming torches; they dart about like lightning.

5. 그가 그 존귀한 자를 생각해 내니 그들이 엎드러질 듯이 달려서 급히 성에 이르러 막을 것을 예비하도다
  He summons his picked troops, yet they stumble on their way. They dash to the city wall; the protective shield is put in place.

6. 강들의 수문이 열리고 왕궁이 소멸되며
  The river gates are thrown open and the palace collapses.

7. 정명대로 왕후가 벌거벗은 몸으로 끌려가며 그 모든 시녀가 가슴을 치며 비둘기같이 슬피 우는도다
  It is decreed that the city be exiled and carried away. Its slave girls moan like doves and beat upon their breasts.

8. 니느웨는 예로부터 물이 모인 못 같더니 이제 모두 도망하니 서라 서라 하나 돌아보는 자가 없도다
  Nineveh is like a pool, and its water is draining away. "Stop! Stop!" they cry, but no one turns back.

9. 은을 노략하라 금을 늑탈하라 그 저축한 것이 무한하고 아름다운 기구가 풍부함이니라
  Plunder the silver! Plunder the gold! The supply is endless, the wealth from all its treasures!

10. 니느웨가 공허하였고 황무하였도다 거민이 낙담하여 그 무릎이 서로 부딪히며 모든 허리가 아프게 되며 모든 낯이 빛을 잃도다
  She is pillaged, plundered, stripped! Hearts melt, knees give way, bodies tremble, every face grows pale.

11. 이제 사자의 굴이 어디뇨 젊은 사자의 먹는 곳이 어디뇨 전에는 수사자 암사자가 그 새끼 사자와 함께 거기서 다니되 그것들을 두렵게 할 자가 없었으며
  Where now is the lions' den, the place where they fed their young, where the lion and lioness went, and the cubs, with nothing to fear?

12. 수사자가 그 새끼를 위하여 식물을 충분히 찢고 그 암사자를 위하여 무엇을 움켜서는 취한 것으로 그 굴에 채웠고 찢은 것으로 그 구멍에 채웠었도다
  The lion killed enough for his cubs and strangled the prey for his mate, filling his lairs with the kill and his dens with the prey.

13. 만군의 여호와의 말씀에 내가 네 대적이 되어 너의 병거들을 살라 연기가 되게 하고 너의 젊은 사자들을 칼로 멸할 것이며 내가 또 너의 노략한 것을 땅에서 끊으리니 너의 파견자의 목소리가 다시는 들리지 아니하리라 하셨느니라
  "I am against you," declares the LORD Almighty. "I will burn up your chariots in smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will leave you no prey on the earth. The voices of your messengers will no longer be heard."

누가복음 18

1. 항상 기도하고 낙망치 말아야 될 것을 저희에게 비유로 하여
  Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

2. 가라사대 어떤 도시에 하나님을 두려워 아니하고 사람을 무시하는 한 재판관이 있는데
  He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.

3. 그 도시에 한 과부가 있어 자주 그에게 가서 내 원수에 대한 나의 원한을 풀어 주소서 하되
  And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'

4. 그가 얼마 동안 듣지 아니하다가 후에 속으로 생각하되 내가 하나님을 두려워 아니하고 사람을 무시하나
  "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men,

5. 이 과부가 나를 번거롭게 하니 내가 그 원한을 풀어 주리라 그렇지 않으면 늘 와서 나를 괴롭게 하리라 하였느니라
  yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'"

6. 주께서 또 가라사대 불의한 재판관의 말한 것을 들으라
  And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.

7. 하물며 하나님께서 그 밤낮 부르짖는 택하신 자들의 원한을 풀어 주지 아니하시겠느냐 저희에게 오래 참으시겠느냐
  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

8. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 속히 그 원한을 풀어 주시리라 그러나 인자가 올 때에 세상에서 믿음을 보겠느냐 하시니라
  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

9. 또 자기를 의롭다고 믿고 다른 사람을 멸시하는 자들에게 이 비유로 말씀하시되
  To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:

10. 두 사람이 기도하러 성전에 올라가니 하나는 바리새인이요 하나는 세리라
  "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11. 바리새인은 서서 따로 기도하여 가로되 하나님이여 나는 다른 사람들 곧 토색, 불의, 간음을 하는 자들과 같지 아니하고 이 세리와도 같지 아니함을 감사하나이다
  The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector.

12. 나는 이레에 두 번씩 금식하고 또 소득의 십일조를 드리나이다 하고
  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'

13. 세리는 멀리 서서 감히 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러 보지도 못하고 다만 가슴을 치며 가로되 하나님이여 불쌍히 여기옵소서 나는 죄인이로소이다 하였느니라
  "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'

14. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이 사람이 저보다 의롭다 하심을 받고 집에 내려갔느니라 무릇 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라 하시니라
  "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

15. 사람들이 예수의 만져 주심을 바라고 자기 어린 아기를 데리고 오매 제자들이 보고 꾸짖거늘
  People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.

16. 예수께서 그 어린아이들을 불러 가까이 하시고 이르시되 어린아이들이 내게 오는 것을 용납하고 금하지 말라 하나님의 나라가 이런 자의 것이니라
  But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

17. 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 하나님의 나라를 어린아이와 같이 받들지 않는 자는 결단코 들어가지 못하리라 하시니라
  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

18. 어떤 관원이 물어 가로되 선한 선생님이여 내가 무엇을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까
  A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

19. 예수께서 이르시되 네가 어찌하여 나를 선하다 일컫느냐 하나님 한 분 외에는 선한 이가 없느니라
  "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.

20. 네가 계명을 아나니 간음하지 말라, 살인하지 말라, 도적질하지 말라, 거짓 증거하지 말라, 네 부모를 공경하라 하였느니라
  You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.'"

21. 여짜오되 이것은 내가 어려서부터 다 지키었나이다
  "All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said.

22. 예수께서 이 말을 들으시고 이르시되 네가 오히려 한 가지 부족한 것이 있으니 네게 있는 것을 다 팔아 가난한 자들을 나눠 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 보화가 네게 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 좇으라 하시니
  When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

23. 그 사람이 큰 부자인 고로 이 말씀을 듣고 심히 근심하더라
  When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth.

24. 예수께서 저를 보시고 가라사대 재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 어떻게 어려운지
  Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

25. 약대가 바늘귀로 들어가는 것이 부자가 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것보다 쉬우니라 하신대
  Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

26. 듣는 자들이 가로되 그런즉 누가 구원을 얻을 수 있나이까
  Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?"

27. 가라사대 무릇 사람의 할 수 없는 것을 하나님은 하실 수 있느니라
  Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."

28. 베드로가 여짜오되 보옵소서 우리가 우리의 것을 다 버리고 주를 좇았나이다
  Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!"

29. 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 하나님의 나라를 위하여 집이나 아내나 형제나 부모나 자녀를 버린 자는
  "I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

30. 금세에 있어 여러 배를 받고 내세에 영생을 받지 못할 자가 없느니라 하시니라
  will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

31. 예수께서 열두 제자를 데리시고 이르시되 보라 우리가 예루살렘으로 올라가노니 선지자들로 기록된 모든 것이 인자에게 응하리라
  Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.

32. 인자가 이방인들에게 넘기워 희롱을 받고 능욕을 받고 침 뱉음을 받겠으며
  He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him.

33. 저희는 채찍질하고 죽일 것이니 저는 삼 일 만에 살아나리라 하시되
  On the third day he will rise again."

34. 제자들이 이것을 하나도 깨닫지 못하였으니 그 말씀이 감추였으므로 저희가 그 이르신 바를 알지 못하였더라
  The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.

35. 여리고에 가까이 오실 때에 한 소경이 길가에 앉아 구걸하다가
  As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

36. 무리의 지남을 듣고 이 무슨 일이냐고 물은대
  When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.

37. 저희가 나사렛 예수께서 지나신다 하니
  They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."

38. 소경이 외쳐 가로되 다윗의 자손 예수여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 하거늘
  He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

39. 앞서 가는 자들이 저를 꾸짖어 잠잠하라 하되 저가 더욱 심히 소리질러 다윗의 자손이여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 하는지라
  Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

40. 예수께서 머물러 서서 명하여 데려오라 하셨더니 저가 가까이 오매 물어 가라사대
  Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,

41. 네게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐 가로되 주여 보기를 원하나이다
  "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord, I want to see," he replied.

42. 예수께서 저에게 이르시되 보아라 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였느니라 하시매
  Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you."

43. 곧 보게 되어 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 예수를 좇으니 백성이 다 이를 보고 하나님을 찬양하니라
  Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
