역대상 22

1. 다윗이 가로되 이는 여호와 하나님의 전이요 이는 이스라엘의 번제단이라 하였더라
  Then David said, "The house of the LORD God is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel."

2. 다윗이 명하여 이스라엘 땅에 우거하는 이방 사람을 모으고 석수를 시켜 하나님의 전을 건축할 돌을 다듬게 하고
  So David gave orders to assemble the aliens living in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God.

3. 다윗이 또 문짝 못과 거멀못에 쓸 철을 한없이 준비하고 또 심히 많아서 중수를 셀 수 없는 놋을 준비하고
  He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed.

4. 또 백향목을 무수히 준비하였으니 이는 시돈 사람과 두로 사람이 백향목을 다윗에게로 많이 수운하여 왔음이라
  He also provided more cedar logs than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David.

5. 다윗이 가로되 내 아들 솔로몬이 어리고 연약하고 여호와를 위하여 건축할 전은 극히 장려하여 만국에 명성과 영광이 있게 하여야 할찌라 그러므로 내가 이제 위하여 준비하리라 하고 죽기 전에 많이 준비하였더라
  David said, "My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it." So David made extensive preparations before his death.

6. 다윗이 그 아들 솔로몬을 불러 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 위하여 전을 건축하기를 부탁하여
  Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.

7. 이르되 내 아들아 나는 내 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있었으나
  David said to Solomon: "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God.

8. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되 너는 피를 심히 많이 흘렸고 크게 전쟁하였느니라 네가 내 앞에서 땅에 피를 많이 흘렸은즉 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하지 못하리라
  But this word of the LORD came to me: 'You have shed much blood and have fought many wars. You are not to build a house for my Name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

9. 한 아들이 네게서 나리니 저는 평강의 사람이라 내가 저로 사면 모든 대적에게서 평강하게 하리라 그 이름을 솔로몬이라 하리니 이는 내가 저의 생전에 평안과 안정을 이스라엘에게 줄 것임이니라
  But you will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign.

10. 저가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할찌라 저는 내 아들이 되고 나는 저의 아비가 되어 그 나라 위를 이스라엘 위에 굳게 세워 영원까지 이르게 하리라 하셨나니
  He is the one who will build a house for my Name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.'

11. 내 아들아 여호와께서 너와 함께 하시기를 원하며 네가 형통하여 여호와께서 네게 대하여 말씀하신 대로 여호와의 전을 건축하며
  "Now, my son, the LORD be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the LORD your God, as he said you would.

12. 여호와께서 네게 지혜와 총명을 주사 너로 이스라엘을 다스리게 하시고 너의 하나님 여호와의 율법을 지키게 하시기를 더욱 원하노라
  May the LORD give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

13. 네가 만일 여호와께서 모세로 이스라엘에게 명하신 모든 율례와 규례를 삼가 행하면 형통하리니 강하고 담대하여 두려워 말고 놀라지 말찌어다
  Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

14. 내가 환난 중에 여호와의 전을 위하여 금 십만 달란트와 은 일백만 달란트와 놋과 철을 그 중수를 셀 수 없을 만큼 심히 많이 예비하였고 또 재목과 돌을 예비하였으나 너는 더할 것이며
  "I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the LORD a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.

15. 또 공장이 네게 많이 있나니 곧 석수와 목수와 온갖 일에 익숙한 모든 사람이니라
  You have many workmen: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as men skilled in every kind of work

16. 금과 은과 놋과 철이 무수하니 너는 일어나 일하라 여호와께서 너와 함께 계실찌로다
  in gold and silver, bronze and iron--craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the LORD be with you."

17. 다윗이 또 이스라엘 모든 방백에게 명하여 그 아들 솔로몬을 도우라 하여 가로되
  Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.

18. 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희와 함께 하지 아니하시느냐 사면으로 너희에게 평강을 주지 아니하셨느냐 이 땅 거민을 내 손에 붙이사 이 땅으로 여호와와 그 백성 앞에 복종하게 하셨나니
  He said to them, "Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not granted you rest on every side? For he has handed the inhabitants of the land over to me, and the land is subject to the LORD and to his people.

19. 이제 너희는 마음과 정신을 진정하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 구하고 일어나서 여호와 하나님의 성소를 건축하고 여호와의 언약궤와 하나님의 거룩한 기구를 가져다가 여호와의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전에 드리게 하라 하였더라
  Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD."

베드로전서 3

1. 아내 된 자들아 이와 같이 자기 남편에게 순복하라 이는 혹 도를 순종치 않는 자라도 말로 말미암지 않고 그 아내의 행위로 말미암아 구원을 얻게 하려 함이니
  Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,

2. 너희의 두려워하며 정결한 행위를 봄이라
  when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

3. 너희 단장은 머리를 꾸미고 금을 차고 아름다운 옷을 입는 외모로 하지 말고
  Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.

4. 오직 마음에 숨은 사람을 온유하고 안정한 심령의 썩지 아니할 것으로 하라 이는 하나님 앞에 값진 것이니라
  Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

5. 전에 하나님께 소망을 두었던 거룩한 부녀들도 이와 같이 자기 남편에게 순복함으로 자기를 단장하였나니
  For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,

6. 사라가 아브라함을 주라 칭하여 복종한 것같이 너희가 선을 행하고 아무 두려운 일에도 놀라지 아니함으로 그의 딸이 되었느니라
  like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.

7. 남편 된 자들아 이와 같이 지식을 따라 너희 아내와 동거하고 저는 더 연약한 그릇이요 또 생명의 은혜를 유업으로 함께 받을 자로 알아 귀히 여기라 이는 너희 기도가 막히지 아니하게 하려 함이라
  Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

8. 마지막으로 말하노니 너희가 다 마음을 같이하여 체휼하며 형제를 사랑하며 불쌍히 여기며 겸손하며
  Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

9. 악을 악으로, 욕을 욕으로 갚지 말고 도리어 복을 빌라 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 입었으니 이는 복을 유업으로 받게 하려 하심이라
  Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

10. 그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 궤휼을 말하지 말고
  For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.

11. 악에서 떠나 선을 행하고 화평을 구하여 이를 좇으라
  He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.

12. 주의 눈은 의인을 향하시고 그의 귀는 저의 간구에 기울이시되 주의 낯은 악행하는 자들을 향하시느니라 하였느니라
  For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

13. 또 너희가 열심으로 선을 행하면 누가 너희를 해하리요
  Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?

14. 그러나 의를 위하여 고난을 받으면 복 있는 자니 저희의 두려워함을 두려워 말며 소동치 말고
  But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened."

15. 너희 마음에 그리스도를 주로 삼아 거룩하게 하고 너희 속에 있는 소망에 관한 이유를 묻는 자에게는 대답할 것을 항상 예비하되 온유와 두려움으로 하고
  But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

16. 선한 양심을 가지라 이는 그리스도 안에 있는 너희의 선행을 욕하는 자들로 그 비방하는 일에 부끄러움을 당하게 하려 함이라
  keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

17. 선을 행함으로 고난 받는 것이 하나님의 뜻일찐대 악을 행함으로 고난 받는 것보다 나으니라
  It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

18. 그리스도께서도 한 번 죄를 위하여 죽으사 의인으로서 불의한 자를 대신하셨으니 이는 우리를 하나님 앞으로 인도하려 하심이라 육체로는 죽임을 당하시고 영으로는 살리심을 받으셨으니
  For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

19. 저가 또한 영으로 옥에 있는 영들에게 전파하시니라
  through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison

20. 그들은 전에 노아의 날 방주 예비할 동안 하나님이 오래 참고 기다리실 때에 순종치 아니하던 자들이라 방주에서 물로 말미암아 구원을 얻은 자가 몇 명뿐이니 겨우 여덟 명이라
  who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,

21. 물은 예수 그리스도의 부활하심으로 말미암아 이제 너희를 구원하는 표니 곧 세례라 육체의 더러운 것을 제하여 버림이 아니요 오직 선한 양심이 하나님을 향하여 찾아가는 것이라
  and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

22. 저는 하늘에 오르사 하나님 우편에 계시니 천사들과 권세들과 능력들이 저에게 순복하느니라
  who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

미가 1

1. 유다 열왕 요담과 아하스와 히스기야 시대에 모레셋 사람 미가에게 임한 여호와의 말씀 곧 사마리아와 예루살렘에 관한 묵시라
  The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah--the vision he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2. 백성들아 너희는 다 들을찌어다 땅과 거기 있는 모든 것들아 자세히 들을찌어다 주 여호와께서 너희에게 대하여 증거하시되 곧 주께서 성전에서 그리하실 것이니라
  Hear, O peoples, all of you, listen, O earth and all who are in it, that the Sovereign LORD may witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

3. 여호와께서 그 처소에서 나오시고 강림하사 땅의 높은 곳을 밟으실 것이라
  Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth.

4. 그 아래서 산들이 녹고 골짜기들이 갈라지기를 불 앞의 밀 같고 비탈로 쏟아지는 물 같을 것이니
  The mountains melt beneath him and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope.

5. 이는 다 야곱의 허물을 인함이요 이스라엘 족속의 죄를 인함이라 야곱의 허물이 무엇이뇨 사마리아가 아니뇨 유다의 산당이 무엇이뇨 예루살렘이 아니뇨
  All this is because of Jacob's transgression, because of the sins of the house of Israel. What is Jacob's transgression? Is it not Samaria? What is Judah's high place? Is it not Jerusalem?

6. 이러므로 내가 사마리아로 들의 무더기 같게 하고 포도 심을 동산 같게 하며 또 그 돌들을 골짜기에 쏟아 내리고 그 지대를 드러내며
  "Therefore I will make Samaria a heap of rubble, a place for planting vineyards. I will pour her stones into the valley and lay bare her foundations.

7. 그 새긴 우상을 다 파쇄하고 그 음행의 값을 다 불사르며 그 목상을 다 훼파하리니 그가 기생의 값으로 모았은즉 그것이 기생의 값으로 돌아가리라
  All her idols will be broken to pieces; all her temple gifts will be burned with fire; I will destroy all her images. Since she gathered her gifts from the wages of prostitutes, as the wages of prostitutes they will again be used."

8. 이러므로 내가 애통하며 애곡하고 벌거벗은 몸으로 행하며 들개같이 애곡하고 타조같이 애통하리니
  Because of this I will weep and wail; I will go about barefoot and naked. I will howl like a jackal and moan like an owl.

9. 이는 그 상처는 고칠 수 없고 그것이 유다까지도 이르고 내 백성의 성문 곧 예루살렘에도 미쳤음이니라
  For her wound is incurable; it has come to Judah. It has reached the very gate of my people, even to Jerusalem itself.

10. 가드에 고하지 말며 도무지 호곡하지 말찌어다 베들레아브라에서 티끌에 굴찌어다
  Tell it not in Gath; weep not at all. In Beth Ophrah roll in the dust.

11. 사빌 거민아 너는 벗은 몸에 수치를 무릅쓰고 나갈찌어다 사아난 거민은 나오지 못하고 벧에셀이 애곡하여 너희로 의지할 곳이 없게 하리라
  Pass on in nakedness and shame, you who live in Shaphir. Those who live in Zaanan will not come out. Beth Ezel is in mourning; its protection is taken from you.

12. 마롯 거민이 근심 중에 복을 바라니 이는 재앙이 여호와께로 말미암아 예루살렘 성문에 임함이니라
  Those who live in Maroth writhe in pain, waiting for relief, because disaster has come from the LORD, even to the gate of Jerusalem.

13. 라기스 거민아 너는 준마에 병거를 메울찌어다 라기스는 딸 시온의 죄의 근본이니 이는 이스라엘의 허물이 네게서 보였음이니라
  You who live in Lachish, harness the team to the chariot. You were the beginning of sin to the Daughter of Zion, for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.

14. 이러므로 너는 가드모레셋에 작별하는 예물을 줄찌어다 악십의 집들이 이스라엘 열왕을 속이리라
  Therefore you will give parting gifts to Moresheth Gath. The town of Aczib will prove deceptive to the kings of Israel.

15. 마레사 거민아 내가 장차 너를 얻을 자로 네게 임하게 하리니 이스라엘의 영광이 아둘람까지 이를 것이라
  I will bring a conqueror against you who live in Mareshah. He who is the glory of Israel will come to Adullam.

16. 너는 네 기뻐하는 자식으로 인하여 네 머리털을 깎아 대머리 같게 할찌어다 네 머리로 크게 무여지게 하기를 독수리 같게 할찌어다 이는 그들이 사로잡혀 너를 떠났음이니라
  Shave your heads in mourning for the children in whom you delight; make yourselves as bald as the vulture, for they will go from you into exile.

누가복음 10

1. 이 후에 주께서 달리 칠십 인을 세우사 친히 가시려는 각동 각처로 둘씩 앞서 보내시며
  After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.

2. 이르시되 추수할 것은 많되 일군이 적으니 그러므로 추수하는 주인에게 청하여 추수할 일군들을 보내어 주소서 하라
  He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

3. 갈찌어다 내가 너희를 보냄이 어린 양을 이리 가운데로 보냄과 같도다
  Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

4. 전대나 주머니나 신을 가지지 말며 길에서 아무에게도 문안하지 말며
  Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

5. 어느 집에 들어가든지 먼저 말하되 이 집이 평안할찌어다 하라
  "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.'

6. 만일 평안을 받을 사람이 거기 있으면 너희 빈 평안이 그에게 머물 것이요 그렇지 않으면 너희에게로 돌아오리라
  If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.

7. 그 집에 유하며 주는 것을 먹고 마시라 일군이 그 삯을 얻는 것이 마땅하니라 이 집에서 저 집으로 옮기지 말라
  Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

8. 어느 동네에 들어가든지 너희를 영접하거든 너희 앞에 차려 놓는 것을 먹고
  "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you.

9. 거기 있는 병자들을 고치고 또 말하기를 하나님의 나라가 너희에게 가까이 왔다 하라
  Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

10. 어느 동네에 들어가든지 너희를 영접지 아니하거든 그 거리로 나와서 말하되
  But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say,

11. 너희 동네에서 우리 발에 묻은 먼지도 너희에게 떨어 버리노라 그러나 하나님의 나라가 가까이 온 줄을 알라 하라
  'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.'

12. 내가 너희에게 말하노니 저 날에 소돔이 그 동네보다 견디기 쉬우리라
  I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

13. 화 있을찐저 고라신아, 화 있을찐저 벳새다야, 너희에게서 행한 모든 권능을 두로와 시돈에서 행하였더면 저희가 벌써 베옷을 입고 재에 앉아 회개하였으리라
  "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14. 심판 때에 두로와 시돈이 너희보다 견디기 쉬우리라
  But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

15. 가버나움아 네가 하늘에까지 높아지겠느냐 음부에까지 낮아지리라
  And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths.

16. 너희 말을 듣는 자는 곧 내 말을 듣는 것이요 너희를 저버리는 자는 곧 나를 저버리는 것이요 나를 저버리는 자는 나 보내신 이를 저버리는 것이라 하시니라
  "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

17. 칠십 인이 기뻐 돌아와 가로되 주여 주의 이름으로 귀신들도 우리에게 항복하더이다
  The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

18. 예수께서 이르시되 사단이 하늘로서 번개같이 떨어지는 것을 내가 보았노라
  He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19. 내가 너희에게 뱀과 전갈을 밟으며 원수의 모든 능력을 제어할 권세를 주었으니 너희를 해할 자가 결단코 없으리라
  I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

20. 그러나 귀신들이 너희에게 항복하는 것으로 기뻐하지 말고 너희 이름이 하늘에 기록된 것으로 기뻐하라 하시니라
  However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

21. 이 때에 예수께서 성령으로 기뻐하사 가라사대 천지의 주재이신 아버지여 이것을 지혜롭고 슬기 있는 자들에게는 숨기시고 어린아이들에게는 나타내심을 감사하나이다 옳소이다 이렇게 된 것이 아버지의 뜻이니이다
  At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

22. 내 아버지께서 모든 것을 내게 주셨으니 아버지 외에는 아들이 누군지 아는 자가 없고 아들과 또 아들의 소원대로 계시를 받는 자 외에는 아버지가 누군지 아는 자가 없나이다 하시고
  "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

23. 제자들을 돌아보시며 종용히 이르시되 너희의 보는 것을 보는 눈은 복이 있도다
  Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.

24. 내가 너희에게 말하노니 많은 선지자와 임금이 너희 보는 바를 보고자 하였으되 보지 못하였으며 너희 듣는 바를 듣고자 하였으되 듣지 못하였느니라
  For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

25. 어떤 율법사가 일어나 예수를 시험하여 가로되 선생님 내가 무엇을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까
  On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

26. 예수께서 이르시되 율법에 무엇이라 기록되었으며 네가 어떻게 읽느냐
  "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

27. 대답하여 가로되 네 마음을 다하며 목숨을 다하며 힘을 다하며 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하고 또한 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하였나이다
  He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

28. 예수께서 이르시되 네 대답이 옳도다 이를 행하라 그러면 살리라 하시니
  "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

29. 이 사람이 자기를 옳게 보이려고 예수께 여짜오되 그러면 내 이웃이 누구오니이까
  But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

30. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 어떤 사람이 예루살렘에서 여리고로 내려가다가 강도를 만나매 강도들이 그 옷을 벗기고 때려 거반 죽은 것을 버리고 갔더라
  In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

31. 마침 한 제사장이 그 길로 내려가다가 그를 보고 피하여 지나가고
  A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.

32. 또 이와 같이 한 레위인도 그 곳에 이르러 그를 보고 피하여 지나가되
  So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33. 어떤 사마리아인은 여행하는 중 거기 이르러 그를 보고 불쌍히 여겨
  But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

34. 가까이 가서 기름과 포도주를 그 상처에 붓고 싸매고 자기 짐승에 태워 주막으로 데리고 가서 돌보아 주고
  He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.

35. 이튿날에 데나리온 둘을 내어 주막 주인에게 주며 가로되 이 사람을 돌보아 주라 부비가 더 들면 내가 돌아올 때에 갚으리라 하였으니
  The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36. 네 의견에는 이 세 사람 중에 누가 강도 만난 자의 이웃이 되겠느냐
  "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37. 가로되 자비를 베푼 자니이다 예수께서 이르시되 가서 너도 이와 같이 하라 하시니라
  The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

38. 저희가 길 갈 때에 예수께서 한 촌에 들어가시매 마르다라 이름하는 한 여자가 자기 집으로 영접하더라
  As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.

39. 그에게 마리아라 하는 동생이 있어 주의 발 아래 앉아 그의 말씀을 듣더니
  She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said.

40. 마르다는 준비하는 일이 많아 마음이 분주한지라 예수께 나아가 가로되 주여 내 동생이 나 혼자 일하게 두는 것을 생각지 아니하시나이까 저를 명하사 나를 도와 주라 하소서
  But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

41. 주께서 대답하여 가라사대 마르다야 마르다야 네가 많은 일로 염려하고 근심하나
  "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things,

42. 그러나 몇 가지만 하든지 혹 한 가지만이라도 족하니라 마리아는 이 좋은 편을 택하였으니 빼앗기지 아니하리라 하시니라
  but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
