여호수아 8

1. 여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 두려워 말라 놀라지 말라 군사를 다 거느리고 일어나 아이로 올라가라 보라 내가 아이 왕과 그 백성과 그 성읍과 그 땅을 다 네 손에 주었노니
  Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land.

2. 너는 여리고와 그 왕에게 행한것 같이 아이와 그 왕에게 행하되 오직 거기서 탈취할 물건과 가축은 스스로 취하라 너는 성 뒤에 복병할찌니라
  You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city."

3. 이에 여호수아가 일어나서 군사와 함께 아이로 올라가려 하여 용사 삼만 명을 뽑아 밤에 보내며
  So Joshua and the whole army moved out to attack Ai. He chose thirty thousand of his best fighting men and sent them out at night

4. 그들에게 명하여 가로되 너희는 성읍 뒤로 가서 성읍을 향하고 매복하되 그 성읍에 너무 멀리 하지 말고 다 스스로 예비하라
  with these orders: "Listen carefully. You are to set an ambush behind the city. Don't go very far from it. All of you be on the alert.

5. 나와 나를 좇는 모든 백성은 다 성읍으로 가까이 가리니 그들이 처음과 같이 우리에게로 쳐 올라올 것이라 그리할 때에 우리가 그들 앞에서 도망하면
  I and all those with me will advance on the city, and when the men come out against us, as they did before, we will flee from them.

6. 그들이 나와서 우리를 따르며 스스로 이르기를 그들이 처음과 같이 우리 앞에서 도망한다 하고 우리의 유인을 받아 그 성읍에서 멀리 떠날 것이라 우리가 그 앞에서 도망하거든
  They will pursue us until we have lured them away from the city, for they will say, 'They are running away from us as they did before.' So when we flee from them,

7. 너희는 매복한 곳에서 일어나서 그 성읍을 점령하라 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희 손에 붙이시리라
  you are to rise up from ambush and take the city. The LORD your God will give it into your hand.

8. 너희가 성읍을 취하거든 그것을 불살라 여호와의 말씀대로 행하라 보라 내가 너희에게 명하였느니라 하고
  When you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do what the LORD has commanded. See to it; you have my orders."

9. 그들을 보내매 그들이 복병할 곳으로 가서 아이 서편 벧엘과 아이 사이에 매복하였고 여호수아는 그 밤에 백성 가운데서 잤더라
  Then Joshua sent them off, and they went to the place of ambush and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai, to the west of Ai--but Joshua spent that night with the people.

10. 여호수아가 아침에 일찌기 일어나서 백성을 점고하고 이스라엘 장로들로 더불어 백성 앞서 아이로 올라가매
  Early the next morning Joshua mustered his men, and he and the leaders of Israel marched before them to Ai.

11. 그를 좇은 군사가 다 올라가서 성읍 앞에 가까이 이르러 아이 북편에 진치니 그와 아이 사이에는 한 골짜기가 있었더라
  The entire force that was with him marched up and approached the city and arrived in front of it. They set up camp north of Ai, with the valley between them and the city.

12. 그가 오천 명 가량을 택하여 성읍 서편 벧엘과 아이 사이에 또 매복시키니
  Joshua had taken about five thousand men and set them in ambush between Bethel and Ai, to the west of the city.

13. 이와 같이 성읍 북편에는 온 군대가 있고 성읍 서편에는 복병이 있었더라 여호수아가 그 밤에 골짜기 가운데로 들어가니
  They had the soldiers take up their positions--all those in the camp to the north of the city and the ambush to the west of it. That night Joshua went into the valley.

14. 아이 왕이 이를 보고 그 성읍 백성과 함께 일찌기 일어나서 급히 나가 아라바 앞에 이르러 정한 때에 이스라엘과 싸우려 하고 성읍 뒤에 복병이 있는 줄은 알지 못하였더라
  When the king of Ai saw this, he and all the men of the city hurried out early in the morning to meet Israel in battle at a certain place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an ambush had been set against him behind the city.

15. 여호수아와 온 이스라엘이 그들 앞에서 거짓 패하여 광야 길로 도망하매
  Joshua and all Israel let themselves be driven back before them, and they fled toward the desert.

16. 그 성 모든 백성이 그들을 따르려고 모여서 여호수아를 따르며 유인함을 입어 성을 멀리 떠나니
  All the men of Ai were called to pursue them, and they pursued Joshua and were lured away from the city.

17. 아이와 벧엘에 이스라엘을 따라가지 아니한 자가 하나도 없으며 성문을 열어 놓고 이스라엘을 따랐더라
  Not a man remained in Ai or Bethel who did not go after Israel. They left the city open and went in pursuit of Israel.

18. 여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 네 손에 잡은 단창을 들어 아이를 가리키라 내가 이 성읍을 네 손에 주리라 여호수아가 그 손에 잡은 단창을 들어 성읍을 가리키니
  Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Hold out toward Ai the javelin that is in your hand, for into your hand I will deliver the city." So Joshua held out his javelin toward Ai.

19. 그 손을 드는 순간에 복병이 그 처소에서 급히 일어나 성읍에 달려들어가서 점령하고 곧 성읍에 불을 놓았더라
  As soon as he did this, the men in the ambush rose quickly from their position and rushed forward. They entered the city and captured it and quickly set it on fire.

20. 아이 사람이 뒤를 돌아 본즉 그 성읍에 연기가 하늘에 닿은 것이 보이니 이 길로도 저 길로도 도망할 수 없이 되었고 광야로 도망하던 이스라엘 백성은 그 따르던 자에게로 돌이켰더라
  The men of Ai looked back and saw the smoke of the city rising against the sky, but they had no chance to escape in any direction, for the Israelites who had been fleeing toward the desert had turned back against their pursuers.

21. 여호수아와 온 이스라엘이 그 복병이 성읍을 점령함과 성읍에 연기가 오름을 보고 다시 돌이켜 아이 사람을 죽이고
  For when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city and that smoke was going up from the city, they turned around and attacked the men of Ai.

22. 복병도 성읍에서 나와 그들을 치매 그들이 이스라엘 중간에 든지라 혹은 이편에서 혹은 저편에서 쳐죽여서 한 사람도 남거나 도망하지 못하게 하였고
  The men of the ambush also came out of the city against them, so that they were caught in the middle, with Israelites on both sides. Israel cut them down, leaving them neither survivors nor fugitives.

23. 아이 왕을 사로잡아 여호수아 앞으로 끌어왔더라
  But they took the king of Ai alive and brought him to Joshua.

24. 이스라엘이 자기를 광야로 따르던 아이 모든 거민을 들에서 죽이되 그들을 다 칼날에 엎드러지게 하여 진멸하기를 마치고 온 이스라엘이 아이로 돌아와서 칼날로 죽이매
  When Israel had finished killing all the men of Ai in the fields and in the desert where they had chased them, and when every one of them had been put to the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and killed those who were in it.

25. 그 날에 아이 사람의 전부가 죽었으니 남녀가 일만 이천이라
  Twelve thousand men and women fell that day--all the people of Ai.

26. 아이 거민을 진멸하기까지 여호수아가 단창을 잡아 든 손을 거두지 아니하였고
  For Joshua did not draw back the hand that held out his javelin until he had destroyed all who lived in Ai.

27. 오직 그 성읍의 가축과 노략한 것은 여호와께서 여호수아에게 명하신 대로 이스라엘이 탈취하였더라
  But Israel did carry off for themselves the livestock and plunder of this city, as the LORD had instructed Joshua.

28. 이에 여호수아가 아이를 불살라 그것으로 영원한 무더기를 만들었더니 오늘까지 황폐하였으며
  So Joshua burned Ai and made it a permanent heap of ruins, a desolate place to this day.

29. 그가 또 아이 왕을 저녁때까지 나무에 달았다가 해질 때에 명하여 그 시체를 나무에서 내려 그 성문 어귀에 던지고 그 위에 돌로 큰 무더기를 쌓았더니 그것이 오늘까지 있더라
  He hung the king of Ai on a tree and left him there until evening. At sunset, Joshua ordered them to take his body from the tree and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And they raised a large pile of rocks over it, which remains to this day.

30. 때에 여호수아가 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 에발 산에 한 단을 쌓았으니
  Then Joshua built on Mount Ebal an altar to the LORD, the God of Israel,

31. 이는 여호와의 종 모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 명한 것과 모세의 율법책에 기록된 대로 철 연장으로 다듬지 아니한 새 돌로 만든 단이라 무리가 여호와께 번제와 화목제를 그 위에 드렸으며
  as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses--an altar of uncut stones, on which no iron tool had been used. On it they offered to the LORD burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship offerings.

32. 여호수아가 거기서 모세의 기록한 율법을 이스라엘 자손의 목전에서 그 돌에 기록하매
  There, in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua copied on stones the law of Moses, which he had written.

33. 온 이스라엘과 그 장로들과 유사들과 재판장들과 본토인뿐 아니라 이방인까지 여호와의 언약궤를 멘 레위 사람 제사장들 앞에서 궤의 좌우에 서되 절반은 그리심 산 앞에, 절반은 에발 산 앞에 섰으니 이는 이왕에 여호와의 종 모세가 이스라엘 백성에게 축복하라고 명한 대로 함이라
  All Israel, aliens and citizens alike, with their elders, officials and judges, were standing on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD, facing those who carried it--the priests, who were Levites. Half of the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had formerly commanded when he gave instructions to bless the people of Israel.

34. 그 후에 여호수아가 무릇 율법책에 기록된 대로 축복과 저주하는 율법의 모든 말씀을 낭독하였으니
  Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law--the blessings and the curses--just as it is written in the Book of the Law.

35. 모세의 명한 것은 여호수아가 이스라엘 온 회중과 여인과 아이와 그들 중에 동거하는 객들 앞에 낭독하지 아니한 말이 하나도 없었더라
  There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the aliens who lived among them.

시편 139

1. 여호와여 주께서 나를 감찰하시고 아셨나이다
  For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.

2. 주께서 나의 앉고 일어섬을 아시며 멀리서도 나의 생각을 통촉하시오며
  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3. 나의 길과 눕는 것을 감찰하시며 나의 모든 행위를 익히 아시오니
  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

4. 여호와여 내 혀의 말을 알지 못하시는 것이 하나도 없으시니이다
  Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.

5. 주께서 나의 전후를 두르시며 내게 안수하셨나이다
  You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

6. 이 지식이 내게 너무 기이하니 높아서 내가 능히 미치지 못하나이다
  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

7. 내가 주의 신을 떠나 어디로 가며 주의 앞에서 어디로 피하리이까
  Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

8. 내가 하늘에 올라갈찌라도 거기 계시며 음부에 내 자리를 펼찌라도 거기 계시니이다
  If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9. 내가 새벽 날개를 치며 바다 끝에 가서 거할찌라도
  If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10. 곧 거기서도 주의 손이 나를 인도하시며 주의 오른손이 나를 붙드시리이다
  even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11. 내가 혹시 말하기를 흑암이 정녕 나를 덮고 나를 두른 빛은 밤이 되리라 할찌라도
  If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"

12. 주에게서는 흑암이 숨기지 못하며 밤이 낮과 같이 비취나니 주에게는 흑암과 빛이 일반이니이다
  even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

13. 주께서 내 장부를 지으시며 나의 모태에서 나를 조직하셨나이다
  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14. 내가 주께 감사하옴은 나를 지으심이 신묘막측하심이라 주의 행사가 기이함을 내 영혼이 잘 아나이다
  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

15. 내가 은밀한 데서 지음을 받고 땅의 깊은 곳에서 기이하게 지음을 받은 때에 나의 형체가 주의 앞에 숨기우지 못하였나이다
  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16. 내 형질이 이루기 전에 주의 눈이 보셨으며 나를 위하여 정한 날이 하나도 되기 전에 주의 책에 다 기록이 되었나이다
  your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

17. 하나님이여 주의 생각이 내게 어찌 그리 보배로우신지요 그 수가 어찌 그리 많은지요
  How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18. 내가 세려고 할찌라도 그 수가 모래보다 많도소이다 내가 깰 때에도 오히려 주와 함께 있나이다
  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

19. 하나님이여 주께서 정녕히 악인을 죽이시리이다 피 흘리기를 즐기는 자들아 나를 떠날찌어다
  If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20. 저희가 주를 대하여 악하게 말하며 주의 원수들이 헛되이 주의 이름을 칭하나이다
  They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.

21. 여호와여 내가 주를 미워하는 자를 미워하지 아니하오며 주를 치러 일어나는 자를 한하지 아니하나이까
  Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?

22. 내가 저희를 심히 미워하니 저희는 나의 원수니이다
  I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.

23. 하나님이여 나를 살피사 내 마음을 아시며 나를 시험하사 내 뜻을 아옵소서
  Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24. 내게 무슨 악한 행위가 있나 보시고 나를 영원한 길로 인도하소서
  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

예레미야 2

1. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하니라 이르시되
  The word of the LORD came to me:

2. 가서 예루살렘 거민의 귀에 외쳐 말할찌니라 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 네 소년 때의 우의와 네 결혼 때의 사랑 곧 씨 뿌리지 못하는 땅, 광야에서 어떻게 나를 좇았음을 내가 너를 위하여 기억하노라
  "Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: "'I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the desert, through a land not sown.

3. 그 때에 이스라엘은 나 여호와의 성물 곧 나의 소산 중 처음 열매가 되었나니 그를 삼키는 자면 다 벌을 받아 재앙을 만났으리라 여호와의 말이니라
  Israel was holy to the LORD, the firstfruits of his harvest; all who devoured her were held guilty, and disaster overtook them,'" declares the LORD.

4. 야곱 집과 이스라엘 집 모든 가족아 나 여호와의 말을 들으라
  Hear the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, all you clans of the house of Israel.

5. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 너희 열조가 내게서 무슨 불의함을 보았관대 나를 멀리하고 허탄한 것을 따라 헛되이 행하였느냐
  This is what the LORD says: "What fault did your fathers find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.

6. 그들이 우리를 애굽 땅에서 인도하여 내시고 광야 곧 사막과 구덩이 땅, 간조하고 사망의 음침한 땅, 사람이 다니지 아니하고 거주하지 아니하는 땅을 통과케 하시던 여호와께서 어디 계시냐 말하지 아니하였도다
  They did not ask, 'Where is the LORD, who brought us up out of Egypt and led us through the barren wilderness, through a land of deserts and rifts, a land of drought and darkness, a land where no one travels and no one lives?'

7. 내가 너희를 인도하여 기름진 땅에 들여 그 과실과 그 아름다운 것을 먹게 하였거늘 너희가 이리로 들어와서는 내 땅을 더럽히고 내 기업을 가증히 만들었으며
  I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and made my inheritance detestable.

8. 제사장들은 여호와께서 어디 계시냐 하지 아니하며 법 잡은 자들은 나를 알지 못하며 관리들도 나를 항거하며 선지자들은 바알의 이름으로 예언하고 무익한 것을 좇았느니라
  The priests did not ask, 'Where is the LORD?' Those who deal with the law did not know me; the leaders rebelled against me. The prophets prophesied by Baal, following worthless idols.

9. 그러므로 내가 여전히 너희와 다투고 너희 후손과도 다투리라 여호와의 말이니라
  "Therefore I bring charges against you again," declares the LORD. "And I will bring charges against your children's children.

10. 너희는 깃딤 섬들에 건너가 보며 게달에도 사람을 보내어 이같은 일의 유무를 자세히 살펴보라
  Cross over to the coasts of Kittim and look, send to Kedar and observe closely; see if there has ever been anything like this:

11. 어느 나라가 그 신을 신 아닌 것과 바꾼 일이 있느냐 그러나 나의 백성은 그 영광을 무익한 것과 바꾸었도다
  Has a nation ever changed its gods? (Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their Glory for worthless idols.

12. 너 하늘아 이 일을 인하여 놀랄찌어다 심히 떨찌어다 두려워할찌어다 여호와의 말이니라
  Be appalled at this, O heavens, and shudder with great horror," declares the LORD.

13. 내 백성이 두 가지 악을 행하였나니 곧 생수의 근원되는 나를 버린 것과 스스로 웅덩이를 판 것인데 그것은 물을 저축지 못할 터진 웅덩이니라
  "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

14. 이스라엘이 종이냐 씨종이냐 어찌하여 포로가 되었느냐
  Is Israel a servant, a slave by birth? Why then has he become plunder?

15. 어린 사자들이 너를 향하여 부르짖으며 소리를 날려 네 땅을 황무케 하였으며 네 성읍들은 불타서 거민이 없게 되었으며
  Lions have roared; they have growled at him. They have laid waste his land; his towns are burned and deserted.

16. 놉과 다바네스의 자손도 네 정수리를 상하였으니
  Also, the men of Memphis and Tahpanhes have shaved the crown of your head.

17. 네 하나님 여호와가 너를 길로 인도할 때에 네가 나를 떠남으로 이를 자취함이 아니냐
  Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the LORD your God when he led you in the way?

18. 네가 시홀의 물을 마시려고 애굽 길에 있음은 어찜이며 또 그 하수를 마시려고 앗수르 길에 있음은 어찜이뇨
  Now why go to Egypt to drink water from the Shihor? And why go to Assyria to drink water from the River?

19. 네 악이 너를 징계하겠고 네 패역이 너를 책할 것이라 그런즉 네 하나님 여호와를 버림과 네 속에 나를 경외함이 없는 것이 악이요 고통인 줄 알라 주 만군의 여호와의 말이니라
  Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the LORD your God and have no awe of me," declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.

20. 네가 옛적부터 네 멍에를 꺾고 네 결박을 끊으며 말하기를 나는 순복지 아니하리라 하고 모든 높은 산 위와 모든 푸른 나무 아래서 몸을 굽혀 행음하도다
  "Long ago you broke off your yoke and tore off your bonds; you said, 'I will not serve you!' Indeed, on every high hill and under every spreading tree you lay down as a prostitute.

21. 내가 너를 순전한 참 종자 곧 귀한 포도나무로 심었거늘 내게 대하여 이방 포도나무의 악한 가지가 됨은 어찜이뇨
  I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine?

22. 주 여호와 내가 말하노라 네가 잿물로 스스로 씻으며 수다한 비누를 쓸찌라도 네 죄악이 오히려 내 앞에 그저 있으리니
  Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me," declares the Sovereign LORD.

23. 네가 어찌 말하기를 나는 더럽히지 아니하였다 바알들을 좇지 아니하였다 하겠느냐 골짜기 속에 있는 네 길을 보라 네 행한 바를 알 것이니라 너는 발이 빠른 젊은 암약대가 그 길에 어지러이 달림 같았으며
  "How can you say, 'I am not defiled; I have not run after the Baals'? See how you behaved in the valley; consider what you have done. You are a swift she-camel running here and there,

24. 너는 광야에 익숙한 들암나귀가 그 성욕이 동하므로 헐떡거림 같았도다 그 성욕의 때에 누가 그것을 막으리요 그것을 찾는 자들이 수고치 아니하고 그것의 달에 만나리라
  a wild donkey accustomed to the desert, sniffing the wind in her craving--in her heat who can restrain her? Any males that pursue her need not tire themselves; at mating time they will find her.

25. 내가 또 말하기를 네 발을 제어하여 벗은 발이 되게 말며 목을 갈하게 말라 하였으나 오직 너는 말하기를 아니라 이는 헛된 말이라 내가 이방 신을 사랑하였은즉 그를 따라 가겠노라 하도다
  Do not run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry. But you said, 'It's no use! I love foreign gods, and I must go after them.'

26. 도적이 붙들리면 수치를 당함같이 이스라엘 집 곧 그 왕들과 족장들과 제사장들과 선지자들이 수치를 당하였느니라
  "As a thief is disgraced when he is caught, so the house of Israel is disgraced--they, their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets.

27. 그들이 나무를 향하여 너는 나의 아비라 하며 돌을 향하여 너는 나를 낳았다 하고 그 등을 내게로 향하고 그 얼굴은 내게로 향치 아니하다가 환난을 당할 때에는 이르기를 일어나 우리를 구원하소서 하리라
  They say to wood, 'You are my father,' and to stone, 'You gave me birth.' They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, 'Come and save us!'

28. 네가 만든 네 신들이 어디 있느뇨 그들이 너의 환난을 당할 때에 구원할 수 있으면 일어날 것이니라 유다여 너의 신들이 너의 성읍 수와 같도다
  Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah.

29. 나 여호와가 말하노라 너희가 나와 다툼은 어찜이뇨 너희가 다 내게 범과하였느니라
  "Why do you bring charges against me? You have all rebelled against me," declares the LORD.

30. 내가 너희 자녀를 때림도 무익함은 그들도 징책을 받지 아니함이라 너희 칼이 사나운 사자같이 너희 선지자들을 삼켰느니라
  "In vain I punished your people; they did not respond to correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a ravening lion.

31. 너희 이 세대여 여호와의 말을 들어보라 내가 이스라엘에게 광야가 되었었느냐 흑암한 땅이 되었었느냐 무슨 연고로 내 백성이 말하기를 우리는 놓였으니 다시 주께로 가지 않겠다 하느냐
  "You of this generation, consider the word of the LORD: "Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, 'We are free to roam; we will come to you no more'?

32. 처녀가 어찌 그 패물을 잊겠느냐 신부가 어찌 그 고운 옷을 잊겠느냐 오직 내 백성은 나를 잊었나니 그 날 수는 계수할 수 없거늘
  Does a maiden forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number.

33. 네가 어찌 사랑을 얻으려고 네 행위를 아름답게 꾸미느냐 그러므로 네 행위를 악한 여자들에게까지 가르쳤으며
  How skilled you are at pursuing love! Even the worst of women can learn from your ways.

34. 또 네 옷단에 죄 없는 가난한 자를 죽인 피가 묻었나니 그들이 담 구멍을 뚫음을 인함이 아니라 오직 이 모든 일로 너를 책망함을 인함이니라
  On your clothes men find the lifeblood of the innocent poor, though you did not catch them breaking in. Yet in spite of all this

35. 그러나 너는 말하기를 나는 무죄하니 그 진노가 참으로 내게서 떠났다 하거니와 보라 네 말이 나는 죄를 범치 아니하였다 함을 인하여 내가 너를 심판하리라
  you say, 'I am innocent; he is not angry with me.' But I will pass judgment on you because you say, 'I have not sinned.'

36. 네가 어찌하여 네 길을 바꾸어 부지런히 돌아다니느뇨 네가 앗수르로 인하여 수치를 당함같이 애굽으로 인하여 수치를 당할 것이라
  Why do you go about so much, changing your ways? You will be disappointed by Egypt as you were by Assyria.

37. 네가 두 손으로 네 머리를 싸고 거기서도 나가리니 이는 네가 의지하는 자들을 나 여호와가 버렸으므로 네가 그들을 인하여 형통치 못할 것임이니라
  You will also leave that place with your hands on your head, for the LORD has rejected those you trust; you will not be helped by them.

마태복음 16

1. 바리새인과 사두개인들이 와서 예수를 시험하여 하늘로서 오는 표적 보이기를 청하니
  The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.

2. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 너희가 저녁에 하늘이 붉으면 날이 좋겠다 하고
  He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,'

3. 아침에 하늘이 붉고 흐리면 오늘은 날이 궂겠다 하나니 너희가 천기는 분별할 줄 알면서 시대의 표적은 분별할 수 없느냐
  and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.

4. 악하고 음란한 세대가 표적을 구하나 요나의 표적밖에는 보여 줄 표적이 없느니라 하시고 저희를 떠나가시다
  A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah." Jesus then left them and went away.

5. 제자들이 건너편으로 갈쌔 떡 가져가기를 잊었더니
  When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread.

6. 예수께서 이르시되 삼가 바리새인과 사두개인들의 누룩을 주의하라 하신대
  "Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

7. 제자들이 서로 의논하여 가로되 우리가 떡을 가져오지 아니하였도다 하거늘
  They discussed this among themselves and said, "It is because we didn't bring any bread."

8. 예수께서 아시고 가라사대 믿음이 적은 자들아 어찌 떡이 없음으로 서로 의논하느냐
  Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?

9. 너희가 아직도 깨닫지 못하느냐 떡 다섯 개로 오천 명을 먹이고 주운 것이 몇 바구니며
  Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?

10. 떡 일곱 개로 사천 명을 먹이고 주운 것이 몇 광주리이던 것을 기억지 못하느냐
  Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?

11. 어찌 내 말한 것이 떡에 관함이 아닌 줄을 깨닫지 못하느냐 오직 바리새인과 사두개인들의 누룩을 주의하라 하시니
  How is it you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

12. 그제야 제자들이 떡의 누룩이 아니요 바리새인과 사두개인들의 교훈을 삼가라고 말씀하신 줄을 깨달으니라
  Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

13. 예수께서 가이사랴 빌립보 지방에 이르러 제자들에게 물어 가라사대 사람들이 인자를 누구라 하느냐
  When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

14. 가로되 더러는 세례 요한, 더러는 엘리야, 어떤 이는 예레미야나 선지자 중의 하나라 하나이다
  They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15. 가라사대 너희는 나를 누구라 하느냐
  "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16. 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 가로되 주는 그리스도시요 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다
  Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 바요나 시몬아 네가 복이 있도다 이를 네게 알게 한 이는 혈육이 아니요 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니라
  Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.

18. 또 내가 네게 이르노니 너는 베드로라 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라
  And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

19. 내가 천국 열쇠를 네게 주리니 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라 하시고
  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

20. 이에 제자들을 경계하사 자기가 그리스도인 것을 아무에게도 이르지 말라 하시니라
  Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

21. 이 때로부터 예수 그리스도께서 자기가 예루살렘에 올라가 장로들과 대제사장들과 서기관들에게 많은 고난을 받고 죽임을 당하고 제 삼 일에 살아나야 할 것을 제자들에게 비로소 가르치시니
  From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

22. 베드로가 예수를 붙들고 간하여 가로되 주여 그리 마옵소서 이 일이 결코 주에게 미치지 아니하리이다
  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"

23. 예수께서 돌이키시며 베드로에게 이르시되 사단아 내 뒤로 물러가라 너는 나를 넘어지게 하는 자로다 네가 하나님의 일을 생각지 아니하고 도리어 사람의 일을 생각하는도다 하시고
  Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."

24. 이에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 아무든지 나를 따라오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 좇을 것이니라
  Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

25. 누구든지 제 목숨을 구원코자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라
  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.

26. 사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨을 바꾸겠느냐
  What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

27. 인자가 아버지의 영광으로 그 천사들과 함께 오리니 그 때에 각 사람의 행한 대로 갚으리라
  For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.

28. 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 여기 섰는 사람 중에 죽기 전에 인자가 그 왕권을 가지고 오는 것을 볼 자들도 있느니라
  I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
