여호수아 3

1. 여호수아가 아침에 일찌기 일어나서 이스라엘 사람들로 더불어 싯딤에서 떠나 요단에 이르러서는 건너지 아니하고 거기서 유숙하니라
  Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.

2. 삼 일 후에 유사들이 진중으로 두루 다니며
  After three days the officers went throughout the camp,

3. 백성에게 명하여 가로되 너희는 레위 사람 제사장들이 너희 하나님 여호와의 언약궤 메는 것을 보거든 너희 곳을 떠나 그 뒤를 좇으라
  giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

4. 그러나 너희와 그 사이 상거가 이천 규빗쯤 되게 하고 그것에 가까이 하지는 말라 그리하면 너희 행할 길을 알리니 너희가 이전에 이 길을 지나보지 못하였음이니라
  Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it."

5. 여호수아가 또 백성에게 이르되 너희는 스스로 성결케 하라 여호와께서 내일 너희 가운데 기사를 행하시리라
  Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."

6. 여호수아가 또 제사장들에게 일러 가로되 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞서 건너라 하매 곧 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞서 나아가니라
  Joshua said to the priests, "Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people." So they took it up and went ahead of them.

7. 여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 내가 오늘부터 시작하여 너를 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 크게 하여 내가 모세와 함께 있던 것같이 너와 함께 있는 것을 그들로 알게 하리라
  And the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.

8. 너는 언약궤를 멘 제사장들에게 명하여 이르기를 너희가 요단 물가에 이르거든 요단에 들어서라 하라
  Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: 'When you reach the edge of the Jordan's waters, go and stand in the river.'"

9. 여호수아가 이스라엘 자손에게 이르되 이리 와서 너희 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 들으라 하고
  Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.

10. 또 말하되 사시는 하나님이 너희 가운데 계시사 가나안 족속과 헷 족속과 히위 족속과 브리스 족속과 기르가스 족속과 아모리 족속과 여부스 족속을 너희 앞에서 정녕히 쫓아내실 줄을 이 일로 너희가 알리라
  This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.

11. 보라 온 땅의 주의 언약궤가 너희 앞서 요단으로 들어가나니
  See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.

12. 이제 이스라엘 지파 중에서 매지파에 한 사람씩 십이 명을 택하라
  Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.

13. 온 땅의 주 여호와의 궤를 멘 제사장들의 발바닥이 요단 물을 밟고 멈추면 요단 물 곧 위에서부터 흘러내리던 물이 끊어지고 쌓여 서리라
  And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD--the Lord of all the earth--set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap."

14. 백성이 요단을 건너려고 자기들의 장막을 떠날 때에 제사장들은 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞에서 행하니라
  So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.

15. (요단이 모맥 거두는 시기에는 항상 언덕에 넘치더라) 궤를 멘 자들이 요단에 이르며 궤를 멘 제사장들의 발이 물가에 잠기자
  Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge,

16. 곧 위에서부터 흘러 내리던 물이 그쳐서 심히 멀리 사르단에 가까운 아담 읍 변방에 일어나 쌓이고 아라바의 바다 염해로 향하여 흘러가는 물은 온전히 끊어지매 백성이 여리고 앞으로 바로 건널쌔
  the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

17. 여호와의 언약궤를 멘 제사장들은 요단 가운데 마른 땅에 굳게 섰고 온 이스라엘 백성은 마른 땅으로 행하여 요단을 건너니라
  The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.

시편 126-128

1. 여호와께서 시온의 포로를 돌리실 때에 우리가 꿈꾸는 것 같았도다
  A song of ascents. When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.

2. 그 때에 우리 입에는 웃음이 가득하고 우리 혀에는 찬양이 찼었도다 열방 중에서 말하기를 여호와께서 저희를 위하여 대사를 행하셨다 하였도다
  Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."

3. 여호와께서 우리를 위하여 대사를 행하셨으니 우리는 기쁘도다
  The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

4. 여호와여 우리의 포로를 남방 시내들같이 돌리소서
  Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev.

5. 눈물을 흘리며 씨를 뿌리는 자는 기쁨으로 거두리로다
  Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.

6. 울며 씨를 뿌리러 나가는 자는 정녕 기쁨으로 그 단을 가지고 돌아오리로다
  He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

1. 여호와께서 집을 세우지 아니하시면 세우는 자의 수고가 헛되며 여호와께서 성을 지키지 아니하시면 파숫군의 경성함이 허사로다
  A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.

2. 너희가 일찌기 일어나고 늦게 누우며 수고의 떡을 먹음이 헛되도다 그러므로 여호와께서 그 사랑하시는 자에게는 잠을 주시는도다
  In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat--for he grants sleep to those he loves.

3. 자식은 여호와의 주신 기업이요 태의 열매는 그의 상급이로다
  Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

4. 젊은 자의 자식은 장사의 수중의 화살 같으니
  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth.

5. 이것이 그 전통에 가득한 자는 복되도다 저희가 성문에서 그 원수와 말할 때에 수치를 당치 아니하리로다
  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

1. 여호와를 경외하며 그 도에 행하는 자마다 복이 있도다
  A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways.

2. 네가 네 손이 수고한 대로 먹을 것이라 네가 복되고 형통하리로다
  You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.

3. 네 집 내실에 있는 네 아내는 결실한 포도나무 같으며 네 상에 둘린 자식은 어린 감람나무 같으리로다
  Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table.

4. 여호와를 경외하는 자는 이같이 복을 얻으리로다
  Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD.

5. 여호와께서 시온에서 네게 복을 주실찌어다 너는 평생에 예루살렘의 복을 보며
  May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem,

6. 네 자식의 자식을 볼찌어다 이스라엘에게 평강이 있을찌로다
  and may you live to see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.

이사야 63

1. 에돔에서 오며 홍의를 입고 보스라에서 오는 자가 누구뇨 그 화려한 의복 큰 능력으로 걷는 자가 누구뇨 그는 내니 의를 말하는 자요 구원하기에 능한 자니라
  Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? "It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save."

2. 어찌하여 네 의복이 붉으며 네 옷이 포도즙 틀을 밟는 자 같으뇨
  Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?

3. 만민 중에 나와 함께한 자가 없이 내가 홀로 포도즙 틀을 밟았는데 내가 노함을 인하여 무리를 밟았고 분함을 인하여 짓밟았으므로 그들의 선혈이 내 옷에 튀어 내 의복을 다 더럽혔음이니
  "I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing.

4. 이는 내 원수 갚는 날이 내 마음에 있고 내 구속할 해가 왔으나
  For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redemption has come.

5. 내가 본즉 도와 주는 자도 없고 붙들어 주는 자도 없으므로 이상히 여겨 내 팔이 나를 구원하며 내 분이 나를 붙들었음이라
  I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm worked salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.

6. 내가 노함을 인하여 만민을 밟았으며 내가 분함을 인하여 그들을 취케 하고 그들의 선혈로 땅에 쏟아지게 하였느니라
  I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground."

7. 내가 여호와께서 우리에게 베푸신 모든 자비와 그 찬송을 말하며 그 긍휼을 따라, 그 많은 자비를 따라 이스라엘 집에 베푸신 큰 은총을 말하리라
  I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the LORD has done for us--yes, the many good things he has done for the house of Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.

8. 여호와께서 말씀하시되 그들은 실로 나의 백성이요 거짓을 행치 아니하는 자녀라 하시고 그들의 구원자가 되사
  He said, "Surely they are my people, sons who will not be false to me"; and so he became their Savior.

9. 그들의 모든 환난에 동참하사 자기 앞의 사자로 그들을 구원하시며 그 사랑과 그 긍휼로 그들을 구속하시고 옛적 모든 날에 그들을 드시며 안으셨으나
  In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

10. 그들이 반역하여 주의 성신을 근심케 하였으므로 그가 돌이켜 그들의 대적이 되사 친히 그들을 치셨더니
  Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.

11. 백성이 옛적 모세의 날을 추억하여 가로되 백성과 양 무리의 목자를 바다에서 올라오게 하신 자가 이제 어디 계시뇨 그들 중에 성신을 두신 자가 이제 어디 계시뇨
  Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people--where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them,

12. 그 영광의 팔을 모세의 오른손과 함께 하시며 그 이름을 영영케 하려 하사 그들 앞에서 물로 갈라지게 하시고
  who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses' right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown,

13. 그들을 깊음으로 인도하시되 말이 광야에 행함과 같이 넘어지지 않게 하신 자가 이제 어디 계시뇨
  who led them through the depths? Like a horse in open country, they did not stumble;

14. 여호와의 신이 그들로 골짜기로 내려가는 가축같이 편히 쉬게 하셨도다 주께서 이같이 주의 백성을 인도하사 이름을 영화롭게 하셨나이다 하였느니라
  like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the LORD. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.

15. 주여 하늘에서 굽어 살피시며 주의 거룩하고 영화로운 처소에서 보옵소서 주의 열성과 주의 능하신 행동이 이제 어디 있나이까 주의 베푸시던 간곡한 자비와 긍휼이 내게 그쳤나이다
  Look down from heaven and see from your lofty throne, holy and glorious. Where are your zeal and your might? Your tenderness and compassion are withheld from us.

16. 주는 우리 아버지시라 아브라함은 우리를 모르고 이스라엘은 우리를 인정치 아니할찌라도 여호와여 주는 우리의 아버지시라 상고부터 주의 이름을 우리의 구속자라 하셨거늘
  But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.

17. 여호와여 어찌하여 우리로 주의 길에서 떠나게 하시며 우리의 마음을 강퍅케 하사 주를 경외하지 않게 하시나이까 원컨대 주의 종들 곧 주의 산업인 지파들을 위하사 돌아오시옵소서
  Why, O LORD, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance.

18. 주의 거룩한 백성이 땅을 차지한 지 오래지 아니하여서 우리의 대적이 주의 성소를 유린하였사오니
  For a little while your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary.

19. 우리는 주의 다스림을 받지 못하는 자 같으며 주의 이름으로 칭함을 받지 못하는 자 같이 되었나이다
  We are yours from of old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called by your name.

마태복음 11

1. 예수께서 열두 제자에게 명하시기를 마치시고 이에 저희 여러 동네에서 가르치시며 전도하시려고 거기를 떠나가시니라
  After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.

2. 요한이 옥에서 그리스도의 하신 일을 듣고 제자들을 보내어
  When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples

3. 예수께 여짜오되 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이를 기다리오리이까
  to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?"

4. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 너희가 가서 듣고 보는 것을 요한에게 고하되
  Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see:

5. 소경이 보며 앉은뱅이가 걸으며 문둥이가 깨끗함을 받으며 귀머거리가 들으며 죽은 자가 살아나며 가난한 자에게 복음이 전파된다 하라
  The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

6. 누구든지 나를 인하여 실족하지 아니하는 자는 복이 있도다 하시니라
  Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."

7. 저희가 떠나매 예수께서 무리에게 요한에 대하여 말씀하시되 너희가 무엇을 보려고 광야에 나갔더냐 바람에 흔들리는 갈대냐
  As John's disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind?

8. 그러면 너희가 무엇을 보려고 나갔더냐 부드러운 옷 입은 사람이냐 부드러운 옷을 입은 자들은 왕궁에 있느니라
  If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings' palaces.

9. 그러면 너희가 어찌하여 나갔더냐 선지자를 보려더냐 옳다 내가 너희에게 이르노니 선지자보다도 나은 자니라
  Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

10. 기록된 바 보라 내가 내 사자를 네 앞에 보내노니 저가 네 길을 네 앞에 예비하리라 하신 것이 이 사람에 대한 말씀이니라
  This is the one about whom it is written: "'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'

11. 내가 진실로 너희에게 말하노니 여자가 낳은 자 중에 세례 요한보다 큰 이가 일어남이 없도다 그러나 천국에서는 극히 작은 자라도 저보다 크니라
  I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

12. 세례 요한의 때부터 지금까지 천국은 침노를 당하나니 침노하는 자는 빼앗느니라
  From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.

13. 모든 선지자와 및 율법의 예언한 것이 요한까지니
  For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.

14. 만일 너희가 즐겨 받을찐대 오리라 한 엘리야가 곧 이 사람이니라
  And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.

15. 귀 있는 자는 들을찌어다
  He who has ears, let him hear.

16. 이 세대를 무엇으로 비유할꼬 비유컨대 아이들이 장터에 앉아 제 동무를 불러
  "To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

17. 가로되 우리가 너희를 향하여 피리를 불어도 너희가 춤추지 않고 우리가 애곡하여도 너희가 가슴을 치지 아니하였다 함과 같도다
  "'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.'

18. 요한이 와서 먹지도 않고 마시지도 아니하매 저희가 말하기를 귀신이 들렸다 하더니
  For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'

19. 인자는 와서 먹고 마시매 말하기를 보라 먹기를 탐하고 포도주를 즐기는 사람이요 세리와 죄인의 친구로다 하니 지혜는 그 행한 일로 인하여 옳다 함을 얻느니라
  The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." 'But wisdom is proved right by her actions."

20. 예수께서 권능을 가장 많이 베푸신 고을들이 회개치 아니하므로 그 때에 책망하시되
  Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.

21. 화가 있을찐저 고라신아 화가 있을찐저 벳새다야 너희에게서 행한 모든 권능을 두로와 시돈에서 행하였더면 저희가 벌써 베옷을 입고 재에 앉아 회개하였으리라
  "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

22. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 심판 날에 두로와 시돈이 너희보다 견디기 쉬우리라
  But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

23. 가버나움아 네가 하늘에까지 높아지겠느냐 음부에까지 낮아지리라 네게서 행한 모든 권능을 소돔에서 행하였더면 그 성이 오늘날까지 있었으리라
  And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

24. 내가 너희에게 이르노니 심판 날에 소돔 땅이 너보다 견디기 쉬우리라 하시니라
  But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you."

25. 그 때에 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 천지의 주재이신 아버지여 이것을 지혜롭고 슬기 있는 자들에게는 숨기시고 어린아이들에게는 나타내심을 감사하나이다
  At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

26. 옳소이다 이렇게 된 것이 아버지의 뜻이니이다
  Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

27. 내 아버지께서 모든 것을 내게 주셨으니 아버지 외에는 아들을 아는 자가 없고 아들과 또 아들의 소원대로 계시를 받는 자 외에는 아버지를 아는 자가 없느니라
  "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

28. 수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라
  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

29. 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니
  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30. 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라
  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
