민수기 35

1. 여호와께서 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지에서 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, the LORD said to Moses,

2. 이스라엘 자손에게 명하여 그들의 얻은 기업에서 레위인에게 거할 성읍들을 주게 하고 너희는 또 그 성읍 사면의 들을 레위인에게 주어서
  "Command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. And give them pasturelands around the towns.

3. 성읍으로는 그들의 거처가 되게 하고 들로는 그들의 가축과 물산과 짐승들을 둘 곳이 되게 할 것이라
  Then they will have towns to live in and pasturelands for their cattle, flocks and all their other livestock.

4. 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍들의 들은 성벽에서부터 밖으로 사면 이천 규빗이라
  "The pasturelands around the towns that you give the Levites will extend out fifteen hundred feet from the town wall.

5. 성을 중앙에 두고 성 밖 동편으로 이천 규빗, 남편으로 이천 규빗, 서편으로 이천 규빗, 북편으로 이천 규빗을 측량할찌니 이는 그들의 성읍의 들이며
  Outside the town, measure three thousand feet on the east side, three thousand on the south side, three thousand on the west and three thousand on the north, with the town in the center. They will have this area as pastureland for the towns.

6. 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍은 살인자로 피케 할 도피성으로 여섯 성읍이요 그 외에 사십이 성읍이라
  "Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone may flee. In addition, give them forty-two other towns.

7. 너희가 레위인에게 모두 사십팔 성읍을 주고 그들도 함께 주되
  In all you must give the Levites forty-eight towns, together with their pasturelands.

8. 이스라엘 자손의 산업에서 레위인에게 너희가 성읍을 줄 때에 많이 얻은 자에게서는 많이 취하여 주고 적게 얻은 자에게서는 적게 취하여 줄 것이라 각기 얻은 산업을 따라서 그 성읍들을 레위인에게 줄찌니라
  The towns you give the Levites from the land the Israelites possess are to be given in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: Take many towns from a tribe that has many, but few from one that has few."

9. 여호와께서 또 모세에게 일러 가라사대
  Then the LORD said to Moses:

10. 이스라엘 자손에게 말하여 그들에게 이르라 너희가 요단을 건너 가나안 땅에 들어가거든
  "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,

11. 너희를 위하여 성읍을 도피성으로 정하여 그릇 살인한 자로 그리로 피하게 하라
  select some towns to be your cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone accidentally may flee.

12. 이는 너희가 보수할 자에게서 도피하는 성을 삼아 살인자가 회중 앞에 서서 판결을 받기까지 죽지 않게 하기 위함이니라
  They will be places of refuge from the avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly.

13. 너희가 줄 성읍 중에 여섯으로 도피성이 되게 하되
  These six towns you give will be your cities of refuge.

14. 세 성읍은 요단 이편에서 주고 세 성읍은 가나안 땅에서 주어 도피성이 되게 하라
  Give three on this side of the Jordan and three in Canaan as cities of refuge.

15. 이 여섯 성읍은 이스라엘 자손과 타국인과 이스라엘 중에 우거하는 자의 도피성이 되리니 무릇 그릇 살인한 자가 그리로 도피할 수 있으리라
  These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites, aliens and any other people living among them, so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there.

16. 만일 철 연장으로 사람을 쳐죽이면 이는 고살한 자니 그 고살자를 반드시 죽일 것이요
  "'If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

17. 만일 사람을 죽일 만한 돌을 손에 들고 사람을 쳐죽이면 이는 고살한 자니 그 고살자를 반드시 죽일 것이요
  Or if anyone has a stone in his hand that could kill, and he strikes someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

18. 만일 사람을 죽일 만한 나무 연장을 손에 들고 사람을 쳐죽이면 이는 고살한 자니 그 고살자를 반드시 죽일 것이니라
  Or if anyone has a wooden object in his hand that could kill, and he hits someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.

19. 피를 보수하는 자가 그 고살자를 친히 죽일 것이니 그를 만나거든 죽일 것이요
  The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.

20. 만일 미워하는 까닭에 밀쳐 죽이거나 기회를 엿보아 무엇을 던져 죽이거나
  If anyone with malice aforethought shoves another or throws something at him intentionally so that he dies

21. 원한으로 인하여 손으로 쳐죽이면 그 친 자를 반드시 죽일 것이니 이는 고살하였음이라 피를 보수하는 자가 그 고살자를 만나거든 죽일 것이니라
  or if in hostility he hits him with his fist so that he dies, that person shall be put to death; he is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.

22. 원한 없이 우연히 사람을 밀치거나 기회를 엿봄이 없이 무엇을 던지거나
  "'But if without hostility someone suddenly shoves another or throws something at him unintentionally

23. 보지 못하고 사람을 죽일 만한 돌을 던져서 죽였다 하자 이는 원한도 없고 해하려 한 것도 아닌즉
  or, without seeing him, drops a stone on him that could kill him, and he dies, then since he was not his enemy and he did not intend to harm him,

24. 회중이 친 자와 피를 보수하는 자 간에 이 규례대로 판결하여
  the assembly must judge between him and the avenger of blood according to these regulations.

25. 피를 보수하는 자의 손에서 살인자를 건져내어 그가 피하였던 도피성으로 돌려 보낼 것이요 그는 거룩한 기름 부음을 받은 대제사장의 죽기까지 거기 거할 것이니라
  The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send him back to the city of refuge to which he fled. He must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

26. 그러나 살인자가 어느 때든지 그 피하였던 도피성 지경 밖에 나갔다 하자
  "'But if the accused ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he has fled

27. 피를 보수하는 자가 도피성 지경 밖에서 그 살인자를 만나 죽일찌라도 위하여 피 흘린 죄가 없나니
  and the avenger of blood finds him outside the city, the avenger of blood may kill the accused without being guilty of murder.

28. 이는 살인자가 대제사장의 죽기까지 그 도피성에 유하였을 것임이라 대제사장의 죽은 후에는 그 살인자가 자기의 산업의 땅으로 돌아갈 수 있느니라
  The accused must stay in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may he return to his own property.

29. 이는 너희 대대로 거하는 곳에서 판단하는 율례라
  "'These are to be legal requirements for you throughout the generations to come, wherever you live.

30. 무릇 사람을 죽인 자 곧 고살자를 증인들의 말을 따라서 죽일 것이나 한 증인의 증거만 따라서 죽이지 말 것이요
  "'Anyone who kills a person is to be put to death as a murderer only on the testimony of witnesses. But no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.

31. 살인죄를 범한 고살자의 생명의 속전을 받지 말고 반드시 죽일 것이며
  "'Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.

32. 또 도피성에 피한 자를 대제사장의 죽기 전에는 속전을 받고 그의 땅으로 돌아가 거하게 하지 말 것이니라
  "'Do not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a city of refuge and so allow him to go back and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.

33. 너희는 거하는 땅을 더럽히지 말라 피는 땅을 더럽히나니 피 흘림을 받은 땅은 이를 흘리게 한 자의 피가 아니면 속할 수 없느니라
  "'Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.

34. 너희는 너희 거하는 땅 곧 나의 거하는 땅을 더럽히지 말라 나 여호와가 이스라엘 자손 중에 거함이니라
  Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.'"

시편 79

1. 하나님이여 열방이 주의 기업에 들어와서 주의 성전을 더럽히고 예루살렘으로 돌무더기가 되게 하였나이다
  A psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.

2. 저희가 주의 종들의 시체를 공중의 새에게 밥으로 주며 주의 성도들의 육체를 땅 짐승에게 주며
  They have given the dead bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the air, the flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth.

3. 그들의 피를 예루살렘 사면에 물같이 흘렸으며 그들을 매장하는 자가 없었나이다
  They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.

4. 우리는 우리 이웃에게 비방거리가 되며 우리를 에운 자에게 조소와 조롱거리가 되었나이다
  We are objects of reproach to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.

5. 여호와여 어느 때까지니이까 영원히 노하시리이까 주의 진노가 불붙듯 하시리이까
  How long, O LORD? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?

6. 주를 알지 아니하는 열방과 주의 이름을 부르지 아니하는 열국에 주의 노를 쏟으소서
  Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name;

7. 저희가 야곱을 삼키고 그 거처를 황폐케 함이니이다
  for they have devoured Jacob and destroyed his homeland.

8. 우리 열조의 죄악을 기억하여 우리에게 돌리지 마옵소서 우리가 심히 천하게 되었사오니 주의 긍휼하심으로 속히 우리를 영접하소서
  Do not hold against us the sins of the fathers; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need.

9. 우리 구원의 하나님이여 주의 이름의 영광을 위하여 우리를 도우시며 주의 이름을 위하여 우리를 건지시며 우리 죄를 사하소서
  Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name's sake.

10. 어찌하여 열방으로 저희 하나님이 어디 있느냐 말하게 하리이까 주의 종들의 피 흘림당한 보수를 우리 목전에 열방 중에 알리소서
  Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Before our eyes, make known among the nations that you avenge the outpoured blood of your servants.

11. 갇힌 자의 탄식으로 주의 앞에 이르게 하시며 죽이기로 정한 자를 주의 크신 능력을 따라 보존하소서
  May the groans of the prisoners come before you; by the strength of your arm preserve those condemned to die.

12. 주여 우리 이웃이 주를 훼방한 그 훼방을 저희 품에 칠 배나 갚으소서
  Pay back into the laps of our neighbors seven times the reproach they have hurled at you, O Lord.

13. 그러하면 주의 백성 곧 주의 기르시는 양 된 우리는 영원히 주께 감사하며 주의 영예를 대대로 전하리이다
  Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.

■ 혼자 읽기

이사야 27

1. 그 날에 여호와께서 그 견고하고 크고 강한 칼로 날랜 뱀 리워야단 곧 꼬불꼬불한 뱀 리워야단을 벌하시며 바다에 있는 용을 죽이시리라
  In that day, the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.

2. 그 날에 너희는 아름다운 포도원을 두고 노래를 부를찌어다
  In that day--"Sing about a fruitful vineyard:

3. 나 여호와는 포도원지기가 됨이여 때때로 물을 주며 밤낮으로 간수하여 아무든지 상해하지 못하게 하리로다
  I, the LORD, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.

4. 나는 포도원에 대하여 노함이 없나니 질려와 형극이 나를 대적하여 싸운다 하자 내가 그것을 밟고 모아 불사르리라
  I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.

5. 그리하지 아니할 것 같으면 나의 힘을 의지하고 나와 화친하며 나로 더불어 화친할 것이니라
  Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."

6. 후일에는 야곱의 뿌리가 박히며 이스라엘의 움이 돋고 꽃이 필 것이라 그들이 그 결실로 지면에 채우리로다
  In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.

7. 주께서 그 백성을 치셨은들 그 백성을 친 자들을 치심과 같았겠으며 백성이 살륙을 당하였은들 백성을 도륙한 자의 살륙을 당함과 같았겠느냐
  Has the LORD struck her as he struck down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

8. 주께서 백성을 적당하게 견책하사 쫓아내실 때에 동풍 부는 날에 폭풍으로 그들을 옮기셨느니라
  By warfare and exile you contend with her--with his fierce blast he drives her out, as on a day the east wind blows.

9. 야곱의 불의가 속함을 얻으며 그 죄를 없이함을 얻을 결과는 이로 인하나니 곧 그가 제단의 모든 돌로 부숴진 횟돌 같게 하며 아세라와 태양상으로 다시 서지 못하게 함에 있는 것이라
  By this, then, will Jacob's guilt be atoned for, and this will be the full fruitage of the removal of his sin: When he makes all the altar stones to be like chalk stones crushed to pieces, no Asherah poles or incense altars will be left standing.

10. 대저 견고한 성읍은 적막하고 거처가 황무하며 버림이 되어 광야와 같았은즉 송아지가 거기서 먹고 거기 누우며 그 나무 가지를 먹어 없이하리라
  The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the desert; there the calves graze, there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.

11. 가지가 마르면 꺾이나니 여인이 와서 그것을 불사를 것이라 이 백성이 지각이 없으므로 그들을 지으신 자가 불쌍히 여기지 아니하시며 그들을 조성하신 자가 은혜를 베풀지 아니하시리라
  When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

12. 너희 이스라엘 자손들아 그 날에 여호와께서 창일하는 하수에서부터 애굽 시내에까지 과실을 떠는 것같이 너희를 일일이 모으시리라
  In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered up one by one.

13. 그 날에 큰 나팔을 울려 불리니 앗수르 땅에서 파멸케 된 자와 애굽 땅으로 쫓겨난 자가 돌아와서 예루살렘 성산에서 여호와께 경배하리라
  And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

요한일서 5

1. 예수께서 그리스도이심을 믿는 자마다 하나님께로서 난 자니 또한 내신 이를 사랑하는 자마다 그에게서 난 자를 사랑하느니라
  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

2. 우리가 하나님을 사랑하고 그의 계명들을 지킬 때에 이로써 우리가 하나님의 자녀 사랑하는 줄을 아느니라
  This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.

3. 하나님을 사랑하는 것은 이것이니 우리가 그의 계명들을 지키는 것이라 그의 계명들은 무거운 것이 아니로다
  This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

4. 대저 하나님께로서 난 자마다 세상을 이기느니라 세상을 이긴 이김은 이것이니 우리의 믿음이니라
  for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

5. 예수께서 하나님의 아들이심을 믿는 자가 아니면 세상을 이기는 자가 누구뇨
  Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

6. 이는 물과 피로 임하신 자니 곧 예수 그리스도시라 물로만 아니요 물과 피로 임하셨고
  This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

7. 증거하는 이는 성령이시니 성령은 진리니라
  For there are three that testify:

8. 증거하는 이가 셋이니 성령과 물과 피라 또한 이 셋이 합하여 하나이니라
  the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

9. 만일 우리가 사람들의 증거를 받을찐대 하나님의 증거는 더욱 크도다 하나님의 증거는 이것이니 그 아들에 관하여 증거하신 것이니라
  We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.

10. 하나님의 아들을 믿는 자는 자기 안에 증거가 있고 하나님을 믿지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 거짓말하는 자로 만드나니 이는 하나님께서 그 아들에 관하여 증거하신 증거를 믿지 아니하였음이라
  Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.

11. 또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라
  And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12. 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라
  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

13. 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라
  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

14. 그를 향하여 우리의 가진 바 담대한 것이 이것이니 그의 뜻대로 무엇을 구하면 들으심이라
  This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

15. 우리가 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 들으시는 줄을 안즉 우리가 그에게 구한 그것을 얻은 줄을 또한 아느니라
  And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him.

16. 누구든지 형제가 사망에 이르지 아니한 죄 범하는 것을 보거든 구하라 그러면 사망에 이르지 아니하는 범죄자들을 위하여 저에게 생명을 주시리라 사망에 이르는 죄가 있으니 이에 대하여 나는 구하라 하지 않노라
  If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that.

17. 모든 불의가 죄로되 사망에 이르지 아니하는 죄도 있도다
  All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

18. 하나님께로서 난 자마다 범죄치 아니하는 줄을 우리가 아노라 하나님께로서 나신 자가 저를 지키시매 악한 자가 저를 만지지도 못하느니라
  We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.

19. 또 아는 것은 우리는 하나님께 속하고 온 세상은 악한 자 안에 처한 것이며
  We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

20. 또 아는 것은 하나님의 아들이 이르러 우리에게 지각을 주사 우리로 참된 자를 알게 하신 것과 또한 우리가 참된 자 곧 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 것이니 그는 참 하나님이시요 영생이시라
  We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true--even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

21. 자녀들아 너희 자신을 지켜 우상에서 멀리하라
  Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
