출애굽기 28

1. 너는 이스라엘 자손 중 네 형 아론과 그 아들들 곧 나답과 아비후와 엘르아살과 이다말을 그와 함께 네게로 나아오게 하여 나를 섬기는 제사장 직분을 행하게 하되
  "Have Aaron your brother brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, so they may serve me as priests.

2. 네 형 아론을 위하여 거룩한 옷을 지어서 영화롭고 아름답게 할찌니
  Make sacred garments for your brother Aaron, to give him dignity and honor.

3. 너는 무릇 마음에 지혜 있는 자 곧 내가 지혜로운 영으로 채운 자들에게 말하여 아론의 옷을 지어 그를 거룩하게 하여 내게 제사장 직분을 행하게 하라
  Tell all the skilled men to whom I have given wisdom in such matters that they are to make garments for Aaron, for his consecration, so he may serve me as priest.

4. 그들의 지을 옷은 이러하니 곧 흉패와 에봇과 겉옷과 반포 속옷과 관과 띠라 그들이 네 형 아론과 그 아들들을 위하여 거룩한 옷을 지어 아론으로 내게 제사장 직분을 행하게 할찌며
  These are the garments they are to make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a woven tunic, a turban and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so they may serve me as priests.

5. 그들의 쓸 것은 금실과 청색 자색 홍색실과 가늘게 꼰 베실이니라
  Have them use gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.

6. 그들이 금실과 청색 자색 홍색실과 가늘게 꼰 베실로 공교히 짜서 에봇을 짓되
  "Make the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen--the work of a skilled craftsman.

7. 그것에 견대 둘을 달아 그 두 끝을 연하게 하고
  It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be fastened.

8. 에봇 위에 매는 띠는 에봇 짜는 법으로 금실과 청색 자색 홍색실과 가늘게 꼰 베실로 에봇에 공교히 붙여 짤찌며
  Its skillfully woven waistband is to be like it--of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen.

9. 호마노 두 개를 취하여 그 위에 이스라엘 아들들의 이름을 새기되
  "Take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel

10. 그들의 연치대로 여섯 이름을 한 보석에, 나머지 여섯 이름은 다른 보석에
  in the order of their birth--six names on one stone and the remaining six on the other.

11. 보석을 새기는 자가 인에 새김같이 너는 이스라엘 아들들의 이름을 그 두 보석에 새겨 금테에 물리고
  Engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones the way a gem cutter engraves a seal. Then mount the stones in gold filigree settings

12. 그 두 보석을 에봇 두 견대에 붙여 이스라엘 아들들의 기념 보석을 삼되 아론이 여호와 앞에서 그들의 이름을 그 두 어깨에 메어서 기념이 되게 할찌며
  and fasten them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear the names on his shoulders as a memorial before the LORD.

13. 너는 금으로 테를 만들고
  Make gold filigree settings

14. 정금으로 노끈처럼 두 사슬을 땋고 그 땋은 사슬을 그 테에 달찌니라
  and two braided chains of pure gold, like a rope, and attach the chains to the settings.

15. 너는 판결 흉패를 에봇 짜는 법으로 금실과 청색 자색 홍색실과 가늘게 꼰 베실로 공교히 짜서 만들되
  "Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions--the work of a skilled craftsman. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

16. 장광이 한 뼘씩 두 겹으로 네모 반듯하게 하고
  It is to be square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double.

17. 그것에 네 줄로 보석을 물리되 첫 줄은 홍보석 황옥 녹주옥이요
  Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. In the first row there shall be a ruby, a topaz and a beryl;

18. 둘째 줄은 석류석 남보석 홍마노요
  in the second row a turquoise, a sapphire and an emerald;

19. 세째 줄은 호박 백마노 자수정이요
  in the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst;

20. 네째 줄은 녹보석 호마노 벽옥으로 다 금테에 물릴찌니
  in the fourth row a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper. Mount them in gold filigree settings.

21. 이 보석들은 이스라엘 아들들의 이름대로 열둘이라 매보석에 열두 지파의 한 이름씩 인을 새기는 법으로 새기고
  There are to be twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

22. 정금으로 노끈처럼 땋은 사슬을 흉패 위에 붙이고
  "For the breastpiece make braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.

23. 또 금고리 둘을 만들어 흉패 위 곧 흉패 두 끝에 그 두 고리를 달고
  Make two gold rings for it and fasten them to two corners of the breastpiece.

24. 땋은 두 금사슬로 흉패 두 끝 두 고리에 꿰어 매고
  Fasten the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,

25. 두 땋은 사슬의 다른 두 끝을 에봇 앞 두 견대의 금테에 매고
  and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.

26. 또 금고리 둘을 만들어 흉패 아래 양편 가 안쪽 곧 에봇에 닿은 곳에 달고
  Make two gold rings and attach them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.

27. 또 금고리 둘을 만들어 에봇 앞 두 견대 아래 매는 자리 가까운 편 곧 공교히 짠 띠 윗편에 달고
  Make two more gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.

28. 청색 끈으로 흉패 고리와 에봇 고리에 꿰어 흉패로 공교히 짠 에봇 띠 위에 붙여 떠나지 않게 하라
  The rings of the breastpiece are to be tied to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband, so that the breastpiece will not swing out from the ephod.

29. 아론이 성소에 들어갈 때에는 이스라엘 아들들의 이름을 기록한 이 판결 흉패를 가슴에 붙여 여호와 앞에 영원한 기념을 삼을 것이니라
  "Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the LORD.

30. 너는 우림과 둠밈을 판결 흉패 안에 넣어 아론으로 여호와 앞에 들어 갈 때에 그 가슴 위에 있게 하라 아론이 여호와 앞에서 이스라엘 자손의 판결을 항상 그 가슴 위에 둘찌니라
  Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron's heart whenever he enters the presence of the LORD. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the LORD.

31. 너는 에봇 받침 겉옷을 전부 청색으로 하되
  "Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth,

32. 두 어깨 사이에 머리 들어갈 구멍을 내고 그 주위에 갑옷 깃같이 깃을 짜서 찢어지지 않게 하고
  with an opening for the head in its center. There shall be a woven edge like a collar around this opening, so that it will not tear.

33. 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 청색 자색 홍색실로 석류를 수놓고 금방울을 간격하여 달되
  Make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them.

34. 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 한 금방울, 한 석류, 한 금방울, 한 석류가 있게 하라
  The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe.

35. 아론이 입고 여호와를 섬기러 성소에 들어갈 때와 성소에서 나갈 때에 그 소리가 들릴 것이라 그리하면 그가 죽지 아니하리라
  Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the LORD and when he comes out, so that he will not die.

36. 너는 또 정금으로 패를 만들어 인을 새기는 법으로 그 위에 새기되 (여호와께 성결)이라 하고
  "Make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.

37. 그 패를 청색 끈으로 관 위에 매되 곧 관 전면에 있게 하라
  Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban.

38. 이 패가 아론의 이마에 있어서 그로 이스라엘 자손의 거룩하게 드리는 성물의 죄건을 담당하게 하라 그 패가 아론의 이마에 늘 있으므로 그 성물을 여호와께서 받으시게 되리라
  It will be on Aaron's forehead, and he will bear the guilt involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be. It will be on Aaron's forehead continually so that they will be acceptable to the LORD.

39. 너는 가는 베실로 반포 속옷을 짜고 가는 베실로 관을 만들고 띠를 수 놓아 만들찌니라
  "Weave the tunic of fine linen and make the turban of fine linen. The sash is to be the work of an embroiderer.

40. 너는 아론의 아들들을 위하여 속옷을 만들며 그들을 위하여 띠를 만들며 그들을 위하여 관을 만들어서 영화롭고 아름답게 하되
  Make tunics, sashes and headbands for Aaron's sons, to give them dignity and honor.

41. 너는 그것들로 네 형 아론과 그와 함께한 그 아들들에게 입히고 그들에게 기름을 부어 위임하고 거룩하게 하여 그들로 제사장 직분을 내게 행하게 할찌며
  After you put these clothes on your brother Aaron and his sons, anoint and ordain them. Consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.

42. 또 그들을 위하여 베로 고의를 만들어 허리에서부터 넓적다리까지 이르게 하여 하체를 가리게 하라
  "Make linen undergarments as a covering for the body, reaching from the waist to the thigh.

43. 아론과 그 아들들이 회막에 들어갈 때에나 제단에 가까이 하여 거룩한 곳에서 섬길 때에 그것들을 입어야 죄를 지어서 죽지 아니하리니 그와 그의 후손의 영원히 지킬 규례니라
  Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die. "This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants.

요한복음 7

1. 이 후에 예수께서 갈릴리에서 다니시고 유대에서 다니려 아니하심은 유대인들이 죽이려 함이러라
  After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life.

2. 유대인의 명절인 초막절이 가까운지라
  But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near,

3. 그 형제들이 예수께 이르되 당신의 행하는 일을 제자들도 보게 여기를 떠나 유대로 가소서
  Jesus' brothers said to him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do.

4. 스스로 나타나기를 구하면서 묻혀서 일하는 사람이 없나니 이 일을 행하려 하거든 자신을 세상에 나타내소서 하니
  No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world."

5. 이는 그 형제들이라도 예수를 믿지 아니함이러라
  For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

6. 예수께서 가라사대 내 때는 아직 이르지 아니하였거니와 너희 때는 늘 준비되어 있느니라
  Therefore Jesus told them, "The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right.

7. 세상이 너희를 미워하지 못하되 나를 미워하나니 이는 내가 세상의 행사를 악하다 증거함이라
  The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil.

8. 너희는 명절에 올라가라 나는 내 때가 아직 차지 못하였으니 이 명절에 아직 올라가지 아니하노라
  You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come."

9. 이 말씀을 하시고 갈릴리에 머물러 계시니라
  Having said this, he stayed in Galilee.

10. 그 형제들이 명절에 올라간 후 자기도 올라가시되 나타내지 않고 비밀히 하시니라
  However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.

11. 명절 중에 유대인들이 예수를 찾으면서 그가 어디 있느냐 하고
  Now at the Feast the Jews were watching for him and asking, "Where is that man?"

12. 예수께 대하여 무리 중에서 수군거림이 많아 혹은 좋은 사람이라 하며 혹은 아니라 무리를 미혹하게 한다 하나
  Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, "He is a good man." Others replied, "No, he deceives the people."

13. 그러나 유대인들을 두려워하므로 드러나게 그를 말하는 자가 없더라
  But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the Jews.

14. 이미 명절의 중간이 되어 예수께서 성전에 올라가사 가르치시니
  Not until halfway through the Feast did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach.

15. 유대인들이 기이히 여겨 가로되 이 사람은 배우지 아니하였거늘 어떻게 글을 아느냐 하니
  The Jews were amazed and asked, "How did this man get such learning without having studied?"

16. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 내 교훈은 내 것이 아니요 나를 보내신 이의 것이니라
  Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.

17. 사람이 하나님의 뜻을 행하려 하면 이 교훈이 하나님께로서 왔는지 내가 스스로 말함인지 알리라
  If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

18. 스스로 말하는 자는 자기 영광만 구하되 보내신 이의 영광을 구하는 자는 참되니 그 속에 불의가 없느니라
  He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

19. 모세가 너희에게 율법을 주지 아니하였느냐 너희 중에 율법을 지키는 자가 없도다 너희가 어찌하여 나를 죽이려 하느냐
  Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?"

20. 무리가 대답하되 당신은 귀신이 들렸도다 누가 당신을 죽이려 하나이까
  "You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered. "Who is trying to kill you?"

21. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 내가 한 가지 일을 행하매 너희가 다 이를 인하여 괴이히 여기는도다
  Jesus said to them, "I did one miracle, and you are all astonished.

22. 모세가 너희에게 할례를 주었으니 (그러나 할례는 모세에게서 난 것이 아니요 조상들에게서 난 것이라) 그러므로 너희가 안식일에도 사람에게 할례를 주느니라
  Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a child on the Sabbath.

23. 모세의 율법을 폐하지 아니하려고 사람이 안식일에도 할례를 받는 일이 있거든 내가 안식일에 사람의 전신을 건전케 한 것으로 너희가 나를 노여워하느냐
  Now if a child can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath?

24. 외모로 판단하지 말고 공의의 판단으로 판단하라 하시니라
  Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."

25. 예루살렘 사람 중에서 혹이 말하되 이는 저희가 죽이고자 하는 그 사람이 아니냐
  At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, "Isn't this the man they are trying to kill?

26. 보라 드러나게 말하되 저희가 아무 말도 아니하는도다 당국자들은 이 사람을 참으로 그리스도인 줄 알았는가
  Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Christ?

27. 그러나 우리는 이 사람이 어디서 왔는지 아노라 그리스도께서 오실 때에는 어디서 오시는지 아는 자가 없으리라 하는지라
  But we know where this man is from; when the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from."

28. 예수께서 성전에서 가르치시며 외쳐 가라사대 너희가 나를 알고 내가 어디서 온 것도 알거니와 내가 스스로 온 것이 아니로라 나를 보내신 이는 참이시니 너희는 그를 알지 못하나
  Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, "Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him,

29. 나는 아노니 이는 내가 그에게서 났고 그가 나를 보내셨음이니라 하신대
  but I know him because I am from him and he sent me."

30. 저희가 예수를 잡고자 하나 손을 대는 자가 없으니 이는 그의 때가 아직 이르지 아니하였음이러라
  At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come.

31. 무리 중에 많은 사람이 예수를 믿고 말하되 그리스도께서 오실찌라도 그 행하실 표적이 이사람의 행한 것보다 더 많으랴 하니
  Still, many in the crowd put their faith in him. They said, "When the Christ comes, will he do more miraculous signs than this man?"

32. 예수께 대하여 무리의 수군거리는 것이 바리새인들에게 들린지라 대제사장들과 바리새인들이 그를 잡으려고 하속들을 보내니
  The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.

33. 예수께서 이르시되 내가 너희와 함께 조금 더 있다가 나를 보내신 이에게로 돌아가겠노라
  Jesus said, "I am with you for only a short time, and then I go to the one who sent me.

34. 너희가 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 터이요 나 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라 하신대
  You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come."

35. 이에 유대인들이 서로 묻되 이 사람이 어디로 가기에 우리가 저를 만나지 못하리요 헬라인 중에 흩어져 사는 자들에게로 가서 헬라인을 가르칠 터인가
  The Jews said to one another, "Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

36. 나를 찾아도 만나지 못할 터이요 나 있는 곳에 오지도 못하리라 한 이 말이 무슨 말이냐 하니라
  What did he mean when he said, 'You will look for me, but you will not find me,' and'Where I am, you cannot come'?"

37. 명절 끝 날 곧 큰 날에 예수께서 서서 외쳐 가라사대 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라
  On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

38. 나를 믿는 자는 성경에 이름과 같이 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나리라 하시니
  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."

39. 이는 그를 믿는 자의 받을 성령을 가리켜 말씀하신 것이라 (예수께서 아직 영광을 받지 못하신 고로 성령이 아직 저희에게 계시지 아니하시더라)
  By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

40. 이 말씀을 들은 무리 중에서 혹은 이가 참으로 그 선지자라 하며
  On hearing his words, some of the people said, "Surely this man is the Prophet."

41. 혹은 그리스도라 하며 어떤 이들은 그리스도가 어찌 갈릴리에서 나오겠느냐
  Others said, "He is the Christ." Still others asked, "How can the Christ come from Galilee?

42. 성경에 이르기를 그리스도는 다윗의 씨로 또 다윗의 살던 촌 베들레헴에서 나오리라 하지 아니하였느냐 하며
  Does not the Scripture say that the Christ will come from David's family and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?"

43. 예수를 인하여 무리 중에서 쟁론이 되니
  Thus the people were divided because of Jesus.

44. 그 중에는 그를 잡고자 하는 자들도 있으나 손을 대는 자가 없었더라
  Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.

45. 하속들이 대제사장들과 바리새인들에게로 오니 저희가 묻되 어찌하여 잡아오지 아니하였느냐
  Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn't you bring him in?"

46. 하속들이 대답하되 그 사람의 말하는 것처럼 말한 사람은 이 때까지 없었나이다 하니
  "No one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards declared.

47. 바리새인들이 대답하되 너희도 미혹되었느냐
  "You mean he has deceived you also?" the Pharisees retorted.

48. 당국자들이나 바리새인 중에 그를 믿는 이가 있느냐
  "Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?

49. 율법을 알지 못하는 이 무리는 저주를 받은 자로다
  No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law--there is a curse on them."

50. 그 중에 한 사람 곧 전에 예수께 왔던 니고데모가 저희에게 말하되
  Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked,

51. 우리 율법은 사람의 말을 듣고 그 행한 것을 알기 전에 판결하느냐
  "Does our law condemn anyone without first hearing him to find out what he is doing?"

52. 저희가 대답하여 가로되 너도 갈릴리에서 왔느냐 상고하여 보라 갈릴리에서는 선지자가 나지 못하느니라 하였더라
  They replied, "Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee." The earliest and most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8:11.

  Then each went to his own home.

잠언 4

1. 아들들아 아비의 훈계를 들으며 명철을 얻기에 주의하라
  Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.

2. 내가 선한 도리를 너희에게 전하노니 내 법을 떠나지 말라
  I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.

3. 나도 내 아버지에게 아들이었었으며 내 어머니 보기에 유약한 외아들이었었노라
  When I was a boy in my father's house, still tender, and an only child of my mother,

4. 아버지가 내게 가르쳐 이르기를 내 말을 네 마음에 두라 내 명령을 지키라 그리하면 살리라
  he taught me and said, "Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live.

5. 지혜를 얻으며 명철을 얻으라 내 입의 말을 잊지 말며 어기지 말라
  Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.

6. 지혜를 버리지 말라 그가 너를 보호하리라 그를 사랑하라 그가 너를 지키리라
  Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.

7. 지혜가 제일이니 지혜를 얻으라 무릇 너의 얻은 것을 가져 명철을 얻을찌니라
  Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

8. 그를 높이라 그리하면 그가 너를 높이 들리라 만일 그를 품으면 그가 너를 영화롭게 하리라
  Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.

9. 그가 아름다운 관을 네 머리에 두겠고 영화로운 면류관을 네게 주리라 하였느니라
  She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor."

10. 내 아들아 들으라 내 말을 받으라 그리하면 네 생명의 해가 길리라
  Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.

11. 내가 지혜로운 길로 네게 가르쳤으며 정직한 첩경으로 너를 인도하였은즉
  I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.

12. 다닐 때에 네 걸음이 곤란하지 아니하겠고 달려갈 때에 실족하지 아니하리라
  When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.

13. 훈계를 굳게 잡아 놓치지 말고 지키라 이것이 네 생명이니라
  Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

14. 사특한 자의 첩경에 들어가지 말며 악인의 길로 다니지 말찌어다
  Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men.

15. 그 길을 피하고 지나가지 말며 돌이켜 떠나갈찌어다
  Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.

16. 그들은 악을 행하지 못하면 자지 못하며 사람을 넘어뜨리지 못하면 잠이 오지 아니하며
  For they cannot sleep till they do evil; they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall.

17. 불의의 떡을 먹으며 강포의 술을 마심이니라
  They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

18. 의인의 길은 돋는 햇볕 같아서 점점 빛나서 원만한 광명에 이르거니와
  The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

19. 악인의 길은 어둠 같아서 그가 거쳐 넘어져도 그것이 무엇인지 깨닫지 못하느니라
  But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.

20. 내 아들아 내 말에 주의하며 나의 이르는 것에 네 귀를 기울이라
  My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.

21. 그것을 네 눈에서 떠나게 말며 네 마음 속에 지키라
  Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart;

22. 그것은 얻는 자에게 생명이 되며 그 온 육체의 건강이 됨이니라
  for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body.

23. 무릇 지킬 만한 것보다 더욱 네 마음을 지키라 생명의 근원이 이에서 남이니라
  Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

24. 궤휼을 네 입에서 버리며 사곡을 네 입술에서 멀리하라
  Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

25. 네 눈은 바로 보며 네 눈꺼풀은 네 앞을 곧게 살펴
  Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.

26. 네 발의 행할 첩경을 평탄케 하며 네 모든 길을 든든히 하라
  Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm.

27. 우편으로나 좌편으로나 치우치지 말고 네 발을 악에서 떠나게 하라
  Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

갈라디아서 3

1. 어리석도다 갈라디아 사람들아 예수 그리스도께서 십자가에 못 박히신 것이 너희 눈 앞에 밝히 보이거늘 누가 너희를 꾀더냐
  You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.

2. 내가 너희에게 다만 이것을 알려 하노니 너희가 성령을 받은 것은 율법의 행위로냐 듣고 믿음으로냐
  I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard?

3. 너희가 이같이 어리석으냐 성령으로 시작하였다가 이제는 육체로 마치겠느냐
  Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?

4. 너희가 이같이 많은 괴로움을 헛되이 받았느냐 과연 헛되냐
  Have you suffered so much for nothing--if it really was for nothing?

5. 너희에게 성령을 주시고 너희 가운데서 능력을 행하시는 이의 일이 율법의 행위에서냐 듣고 믿음에서냐
  Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?

6. 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으매 이것을 그에게 의로 정하셨다 함과 같으니라
  Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."

7. 그런즉 믿음으로 말미암은 자들은 아브라함의 아들인줄 알찌어다
  Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham.

8. 또 하나님이 이방을 믿음으로 말미암아 의로 정하실 것을 성경이 미리 알고 먼저 아브라함에게 복음을 전하되 모든 이방이 너를 인하여 복을 받으리라 하였으니
  The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."

9. 그러므로 믿음으로 말미암은 자는 믿음이 있는 아브라함과 함께 복을 받느니라
  So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

10. 무릇 율법 행위에 속한 자들은 저주 아래 있나니 기록된 바 누구든지 율법책에 기록된 대로 온갖 일을 항상 행하지 아니하는 자는 저주 아래 있는 자라 하였음이라
  All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."

11. 또 하나님 앞에서 아무나 율법으로 말미암아 의롭게 되지 못할 것이 분명하니 이는 의인이 믿음으로 살리라 하였음이니라
  Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith."

12. 율법은 믿음에서 난 것이 아니라 이를 행하는 자는 그 가운데서 살리라 하였느니라
  The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them."

13. 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 저주를 받은 바 되사 율법의 저주에서 우리를 속량하셨으니 기록된 바 나무에 달린 자마다 저주 아래 있는 자라 하였음이라
  Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

14. 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 아브라함의 복이 이방인에게 미치게 하고 또 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 성령의 약속을 받게 하려 함이니라
  He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

15. 형제들아 사람의 예대로 말하노니 사람의 언약이라도 정한 후에는 아무나 폐하거나 더하거나 하지 못하느니라
  Brothers, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case.

16. 이 약속들은 아브라함과 그 자손에게 말씀하신 것인데 여럿을 가리켜 그 자손들이라 하지 아니하시고 오직 하나를 가리켜 네 자손이라 하셨으니 곧 그리스도라
  The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.

17. 내가 이것을 말하노니 하나님의 미리 정하신 언약을 사백삼십 년 후에 생긴 율법이 없이 하지 못하여 그 약속을 헛되게 하지 못하리라
  What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise.

18. 만일 그 유업이 율법에서 난 것이면 약속에서 난 것이 아니리라 그러나 하나님이 약속으로 말미암아 아브라함에게 은혜로 주신 것이라
  For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

19. 그런즉 율법은 무엇이냐 범법함을 인하여 더한 것이라 천사들로 말미암아 중보의 손을 빌어 베푸신 것인데 약속하신 자손이 오시기까지 있을 것이라
  What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was put into effect through angels by a mediator.

20. 중보는 한편만 위한 자가 아니니 오직 하나님은 하나이시니라
  A mediator, however, does not represent just one party; but God is one.

21. 그러면 율법이 하나님의 약속들을 거스리느냐 결코 그럴 수 없느니라 만일 능히 살게 하는 율법을 주셨더면 의가 반드시 율법으로 말미암았으리라
  Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

22. 그러나 성경이 모든 것을 죄 아래 가두었으니 이는 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 약속을 믿는 자들에게 주려 함이니라
  But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

23. 믿음이 오기 전에 우리가 율법 아래 매인 바 되고 계시될 믿음의 때까지 갇혔느니라
  Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.

24. 이같이 율법이 우리를 그리스도에게로 인도하는 몽학선생이 되어 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 의롭다 함을 얻게 하려 함이니라
  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.

25. 믿음이 온 후로는 우리가 몽학선생 아래 있지 아니하도다
  Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.

26. 너희가 다 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 아들이 되었으니
  You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,

27. 누구든지 그리스도와 합하여 세례를 받은 자는 그리스도로 옷 입었느니라
  for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

28. 너희는 유대인이나 헬라인이나 종이나 자주자나 남자나 여자 없이 다 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나이니라
  There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

29. 너희가 그리스도께 속한 자면 곧 아브라함의 자손이요 약속대로 유업을 이을 자니라
  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
