창세기 35-36

1. 하나님이 야곱에게 이르시되 일어나 벧엘로 올라가서 거기 거하며 네가 네 형 에서의 낯을 피하여 도망하던 때에 네게 나타났던 하나님께 거기서 단을 쌓으라 하신지라
  Then God said to Jacob, "Go up to Bethel and settle there, and build an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau."

2. 야곱이 이에 자기 집 사람과 자기와 함께한 모든 자에게 이르되 너희 중의 이방 신상을 버리고 자신을 정결케 하고 의복을 바꾸라
  So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes.

3. 우리가 일어나 벧엘로 올라가자 나의 환난 날에 내게 응답하시며 나의 가는 길에서 나와 함께 하신 하나님께 내가 거기서 단을 쌓으려 하노라 하매
  Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone."

4. 그들이 자기 손에 있는 모든 이방 신상과 자기 귀에 있는 고리를 야곱에게 주는지라 야곱이 그것들을 세겜 근처 상수리나무 아래 묻고
  So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

5. 그들이 발행하였으나 하나님이 그 사면 고을들로 크게 두려워하게 하신 고로 야곱의 아들들을 추격하는 자가 없었더라
  Then they set out, and the terror of God fell upon the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.

6. 야곱과 그와 함께한 모든 사람이 가나안 땅 루스 곧 벧엘에 이르고
  Jacob and all the people with him came to Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan.

7. 그가 거기서 단을 쌓고 그 곳을 엘벧엘이라 불렀으니 이는 그 형의 낯을 피할 때에 하나님이 그에게 거기서 나타나셨음이더라
  There he built an altar, and he called the place El Bethel, because it was there that God revealed himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother.

8. 리브가의 유모 드보라가 죽으매 그를 벧엘 아래 상수리나무 밑에 장사하고 그 나무 이름을 알론바굿이라 불렀더라
  Now Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died and was buried under the oak below Bethel. So it was named Allon Bacuth.

9. 야곱이 밧단아람에서 돌아오매 하나님이 다시 야곱에게 나타나사 그에게 복을 주시고
  After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.

10. 그에게 이르시되 네 이름이 야곱이다마는 네 이름을 다시는 야곱이라 부르지 않겠고 이스라엘이 네 이름이 되리라 하시고 그가 그의 이름을 이스라엘이라 부르시고
  God said to him, "Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel." So he named him Israel.

11. 그에게 이르시되 나는 전능한 하나님이니라 생육하며 번성하라 국민과 많은 국민이 네게서 나고 왕들이 네 허리에서 나오리라
  And God said to him, "I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will come from your body.

12. 내가 아브라함과 이삭에게 준 땅을 네게 주고 내가 네 후손에게도 그 땅을 주리라 하시고
  The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you."

13. 하나님이 그와 말씀하시던 곳에서 그를 떠나 올라가시는지라
  Then God went up from him at the place where he had talked with him.

14. 야곱이 하나님의 자기와 말씀하시던 곳에 기둥 곧 돌 기둥을 세우고 그 위에 전제물을 붓고 또 그 위에 기름을 붓고
  Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it.

15. 하나님이 자기와 말씀하시던 곳의 이름을 벧엘이라 불렀더라
  Jacob called the place where God had talked with him Bethel.

16. 그들이 벧엘에서 발행하여 에브랏에 이르기까지 얼마 길을 격한 곳에서 라헬이 임산하여 심히 신고하더니
  Then they moved on from Bethel. While they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and had great difficulty.

17. 그가 난산할 즈음에 산파가 그에게 이르되 두려워 말라 지금 그대가 또 득남하느니라 하매
  And as she was having great difficulty in childbirth, the midwife said to her, "Don't be afraid, for you have another son."

18. 그가 죽기에 임하여 그 혼이 떠나려 할 때에 아들의 이름은 베노니라 불렀으나 그 아비가 그를 베냐민이라 불렀더라
  As she breathed her last--for she was dying--she named her son Ben-Oni. But his father named him Benjamin.

19. 라헬이 죽으매 에브랏 곧 베들레헴 길에 장사되었고
  So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).

20. 야곱이 라헬의 묘에 비를 세웠더니 지금까지 라헬의 묘비라 일컫더라
  Over her tomb Jacob set up a pillar, and to this day that pillar marks Rachel's tomb.

21. 이스라엘이 다시 발행하여 에델 망대를 지나 장막을 쳤더라
  Israel moved on again and pitched his tent beyond Migdal Eder.

22. 이스라엘이 그 땅에 유할 때에 르우벤이 가서 그 서모 빌하와 통간하매 이스라엘이 이를 들었더라 야곱의 아들은 열둘이라
  While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father's concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard of it. Jacob had twelve sons:

23. 레아의 소생은 야곱의 장자 르우벤과 그 다음 시므온과 레위와 유다와 잇사갈과 스불론이요
  The sons of Leah: Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun.

24. 라헬의 소생은 요셉과 베냐민이며
  The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.

25. 라헬의 여종 빌하의 소생은 단과 납달리요
  The sons of Rachel's maidservant Bilhah: Dan and Naphtali.

26. 레아의 여종 실바의 소생은 갓과 아셀이니 이들은 야곱의 아들들이요 밧단아람에서 그에게 낳은 자더라
  The sons of Leah's maidservant Zilpah: Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

27. 야곱이 기럇아르바의 마므레로 가서 그 아비 이삭에게 이르렀으니 기럇아르바는 곧 아브라함과 이삭의 우거하던 헤브론이더라
  Jacob came home to his father Isaac in Mamre, near Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had stayed.

28. 이삭의 나이 일백팔십 세라
  Isaac lived a hundred and eighty years.

29. 이삭이 나이 많고 늙어 기운이 진하매 죽어 자기 열조에게로 돌아가니 그 아들 에서와 야곱이 그를 장사하였더라
  Then he breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, old and full of years. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

1. 에서 곧 에돔의 대략이 이러하니라
  This is the account of Esau (that is, Edom).

2. 에서가 가나안 여인 중 헷 족속 중 엘론의 딸 아다와 히위 족속 중 시브온의 딸 아나의 소생 오홀리바마를 자기 아내로 취하고
  Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite--

3. 또 이스마엘의 딸 느바욧의 누이 바스맛을 취하였더니
  also Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.

4. 아다는 엘리바스를 에서에게 낳았고 바스맛은 르우엘을 낳았고
  Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel,

5. 오홀리바마는 여우스와 얄람과 고라를 낳았으니 이들은 에서의 아들이요 가나안 땅에서 그에게 낳은 자더라
  and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in Canaan.

6. 에서가 자기 아내들과 자기 자녀들과 자기 집의 모든 사람과 자기의 가축과 자기 모든 짐승과 자기가 가나안 땅에서 얻은 모든 재물을 이끌고 그 동생 야곱을 떠나 타처로 갔으니
  Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.

7. 두 사람의 소유가 풍부하여 함께 거할 수 없음이러라 그들의 우거한 땅이 그들의 가축으로 인하여 그들을 용납할 수 없었더라
  Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock.

8. 이에 에서 곧 에돔이 세일 산에 거하니라
  So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the hill country of Seir.

9. 세일 산에 거한 에돔 족속의 조상 에서의 대략이 이러하고
  This is the account of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

10. 그 자손의 이름은 이러하니라 에서의 아내 아다의 아들은 엘리바스요 에서의 아내 바스맛의 아들은 르우엘이며
  These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, the son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel, the son of Esau's wife Basemath.

11. 엘리바스의 아들들은 데만과 오말과 스보와 가담과 그나스요
  The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.

12. 에서의 아들 엘리바스의 첩 딤나는 아말렉을 엘리바스에게 낳았으니 이들은 에서의 아내 아다의 자손이며
  Esau's son Eliphaz also had a concubine named Timna, who bore him Amalek. These were grandsons of Esau's wife Adah.

13. 르우엘의 아들들은 나핫과 세라와 삼마와 미사니 이들은 에서의 아내 바스맛의 자손이며
  The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were grandsons of Esau's wife Basemath.

14. 시브온의 손녀 아나의 딸 에서의 아내 오홀리바마의 아들들은 이러하니 그가 여우스와 얄람과 고라를 에서에게 낳았더라
  The sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, whom she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam and Korah.

15. 에서 자손 중 족장은 이러하니라 에서의 장자 엘리바스의 자손에는 데만 족장, 오말 족장, 스보 족장, 그나스 족장과
  These were the chiefs among Esau's descendants: The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

16. 고라 족장, 가담 족장, 아말렉 족장이니 이들은 에돔 땅에 있는 엘리바스로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요 이들은 아다의 자손이며
  Korah, Gatam and Amalek. These were the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in Edom; they were grandsons of Adah.

17. 에서의 아들 르우엘의 자손에는 나핫 족장, 세라 족장, 삼마 족장, 미사 족장이니 이들은 에돔 땅에 있는 르우엘로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요 이들은 에서의 아내 바스맛의 자손이며
  The sons of Esau's son Reuel: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the chiefs descended from Reuel in Edom; they were grandsons of Esau's wife Basemath.

18. 에서의 아내 오홀리바마의 아들들은 여우스 족장, 얄람 족장, 고라 족장이니 이들은 아나의 딸이요 에서의 아내인 오홀리바마로 말미암아 나온 족장들이라
  The sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the chiefs descended from Esau's wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

19. 에서 곧 에돔의 자손으로서 족장 된 자들이 이러하였더라
  These were the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these were their chiefs.

20. 그 땅의 원거인 호리 족속 세일의 자손은 로단과 소발과 시브온과 아나와
  These were the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

21. 디손과 에셀과 디산이니 이들은 에돔 땅에 있는 세일의 자손 중 호리 족속으로 말미암아 나온 족장들이요
  Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir in Edom were Horite chiefs.

22. 로단의 자녀는 호리와 헤맘과 로단의 누이 딤나요
  The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan's sister.

23. 소발의 자녀는 알완과 마나핫과 에발과 스보와 오남이요
  The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.

24. 시브온의 자녀는 아야와 아나며 이 아나는 그 아비 시브온의 나귀를 칠 때에 광야에서 온천을 발견하였고
  The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was grazing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.

25. 아나의 자녀는 디손과 오홀리바마니 오홀리바마는 아나의 딸이며
  The children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

26. 디손의 자녀는 헴단과 에스반과 이드란과 그란이요
  The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran.

27. 에셀의 자녀는 빌한과 사아완과 아간이요
  The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.

28. 디산의 자녀는 우스와 아란이니
  The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

29. 호리 족속의 족장들은 곧 로단 족장, 소발 족장, 시브온 족장, 아나 족장,
  These were the Horite chiefs: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

30. 디손 족장, 에셀 족장, 디산 족장이라 이들은 그 구역을 따라 세일 땅에 있는 호리 족속으로 말미암아 나온 족장들이었더라
  Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These were the Horite chiefs, according to their divisions, in the land of Seir.

31. 이스라엘 자손을 다스리는 왕이 있기 전에 에돔 땅을 다스리는 왕이 이러하니라
  These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king reigned:

32. 브올의 아들 벨라가 에돔의 왕이 되었으니 그 도성의 이름은 딘하바며
  Bela son of Beor became king of Edom. His city was named Dinhabah.

33. 벨라가 죽고 보스라 사람 세라의 아들 요밥이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
  When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah succeeded him as king.

34. 요밥이 죽고 데만 족속의 땅의 후삼이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
  When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king.

35. 후삼이 죽고 브닷의 아들 곧 모압 들에서 미디안 족속을 친 하닷이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니 그 도성 이름은 아윗이며
  When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith.

36. 하닷이 죽고 마스레가의 삼라가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
  When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king.

37. 삼라가 죽고 유브라데 하숫가 르호봇의 사울이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
  When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the river succeeded him as king.

38. 사울이 죽고 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되고
  When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Acbor succeeded him as king.

39. 악볼의 아들 바알하난이 죽고 하달이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니 그 도성 이름은 바우며 그 처의 이름은 므헤다벨이니 마드렛의 딸이요 메사합의 손녀더라
  When Baal-Hanan son of Acbor died, Hadad succeeded him as king. His city was named Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.

40. 에서에게서 나온 족장들의 이름은 그 종족과 거처와 이름대로 이러하니 딤나 족장, 알와 족장, 여뎃 족장,
  These were the chiefs descended from Esau, by name, according to their clans and regions: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

41. 오홀리바마 족장, 엘라 족장, 비논 족장,
  Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

42. 그나스 족장, 데만 족장, 밉살 족장,
  Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

43. 막디엘 족장, 이람 족장이라 이들은 그 구역과 거처를 따른 에돔 족장들이며 에돔 족속의 조상은 에서더라
  Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied. This was Esau the father of the Edomites.

마가복음 6

1. 예수께서 거기를 떠나사 고향으로 가시니 제자들도 좇으니라
  Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples.

2. 안식일이 되어 회당에서 가르치시니 많은 사람이 듣고 놀라 가로되 이 사람이 어디서 이런 것을 얻었느뇨 이 사람의 받은 지혜와 그 손으로 이루어지는 이런 권능이 어찌됨이뇨
  When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles!

3. 이 사람이 마리아의 아들 목수가 아니냐 야고보와 요셉과 유다와 시몬의 형제가 아니냐 그 누이들이 우리와 함께 여기 있지 아니하냐 하고 예수를 배척한지라
  Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.

4. 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 선지자가 자기 고향과 자기 친척과 자기 집 외에서는 존경을 받지 않음이 없느니라 하시며
  Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor."

5. 거기서는 아무 권능도 행하실 수 없어 다만 소수의 병인에게 안수하여 고치실 뿐이었고
  He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.

6. 저희의 믿지 않음을 이상히 여기셨더라 이에 모든 촌에 두루 다니시며 가르치시더라
  And he was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.

7. 열두 제자를 부르사 둘씩 둘씩 보내시며 더러운 귀신을 제어하는 권세를 주시고
  Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits.

8. 명하시되 여행을 위하여 지팡이 외에는 양식이나 주머니나 전대의 돈이나 아무것도 가지지 말며
  These were his instructions: "Take nothing for the journey except a staff--no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.

9. 신만 신고 두 벌 옷도 입지 말라 하시고
  Wear sandals but not an extra tunic.

10. 또 가라사대 어디서든지 뉘 집에 들어가거든 그 곳을 떠나기까지 거기 유하라
  Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.

11. 어느 곳에서든지 너희를 영접지 아니하고 너희 말을 듣지도 아니하거든 거기서 나갈 때에 발 아래 먼지를 떨어 버려 저희에게 증거를 삼으라 하시니
  And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them."

12. 제자들이 나가서 회개하라 전파하고
  They went out and preached that people should repent.

13. 많은 귀신을 쫓아내며 많은 병인에게 기름을 발라 고치더라
  They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

14. 이에 예수의 이름이 드러난지라 헤롯 왕이 듣고 가로되 이는 세례 요한이 죽은 자 가운데서 살아났도다 그러므로 이런 능력이 그 속에서 운동하느니라 하고
  King Herod heard about this, for Jesus' name had become well known. Some were saying, "John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him."

15. 어떤이는 이가 엘리야라 하고 또 어떤 이는 이가 선지자니 옛 선지자 중의 하나와 같다 하되
  Others said, "He is Elijah." And still others claimed, "He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago."

16. 헤롯은 듣고 가로되 내가 목 베인 요한 그가 살아났다 하더라
  But when Herod heard this, he said, "John, the man I beheaded, has been raised from the dead!"

17. 전에 헤롯이 자기가 동생 빌립의 아내 헤로디아에게 장가든 고로 이 여자를 위하여 사람을 보내어 요한을 잡아 옥에 가두었으니
  For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married.

18. 이는 요한이 헤롯에게 말하되 동생의 아내를 취한 것이 옳지 않다 하였음이라
  For John had been saying to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."

19. 헤로디아가 요한을 원수로 여겨 죽이고자 하였으되 하지 못한 것은
  So Herodias nursed a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she was not able to,

20. 헤롯이 요한을 의롭고 거룩한 사람으로 알고 두려워하여 보호하며 또 그의 말을 들을 때에 크게 번민을 느끼면서도 달게 들음이러라
  because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled; yet he liked to listen to him.

21. 마침 기회 좋은 날이 왔으니 곧 헤롯이 자기 생일에 대신들과 천부장들과 갈릴리의 귀인들로더불어 잔치할쌔
  Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee.

22. 헤로디아의 딸이 친히 들어와 춤을 추어 헤롯과 및 함께 앉은 자들을 기쁘게 한지라 왕이 그 여아에게 이르되 무엇이든지 너 원하는 것을 내게 구하라 내가 주리라 하고
  When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, "Ask me for anything you want, and I'll give it to you."

23. 또 맹세하되 무엇이든지 네가 내게 구하면 내 나라의 절반까지라도 주리라 하거늘
  And he promised her with an oath, "Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom."

24. 저가 나가서 그 어미에게 말하되 내가 무엇을 구하리이까 그 어미가 가로되 세례 요한의 머리를 구하라 하니
  She went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" "The head of John the Baptist," she answered.

25. 저가 곧 왕에게 급히 들어가 구하여 가로되 세례 요한의 머리를 소반에 담아 곧 내게 주기를 원하옵나이다 한대
  At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter."

26. 왕이 심히 근심하나 자기의 맹세한 것과 그 앉은 자들을 인하여 저를 거절할 수 없는지라
  The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her.

27. 왕이 곧 시위병 하나를 보내어 요한의 머리를 가져오라 명하니 그 사람이 나가 옥에서 요한을 목 베어
  So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John's head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison,

28. 그 머리를 소반에 담아다가 여아에게 주니 여아가 이것을 그 어미에게 주니라
  and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother.

29. 요한의 제자들이 듣고 와서 시체를 가져다가 장사하니라
  On hearing of this, John's disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

30. 사도들이 예수께 모여 자기들의 행한 것과 가르친 것을 낱낱이 고하니
  The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.

31. 이르시되 너희는 따로 한적한 곳에 와서 잠간 쉬어라 하시니 이는 오고 가는 사람이 많아 음식 먹을 겨를도 없음이라
  Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

32. 이에 배를 타고 따로 한적한 곳에 갈쌔
  So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.

33. 그 가는 것을 보고 많은 사람이 저희인 줄 안지라 모든 고을로부터 도보로 그 곳에 달려와 저희보다 먼저 갔더라
  But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.

34. 예수께서 나오사 큰 무리를 보시고 그 목자 없는 양 같음을 인하여 불쌍히 여기사 이에 여러 가지로 가르치시더라
  When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

35. 때가 저물어 가매 제자들이 예수께 나아와 여짜오되 이 곳은 빈 들이요 때도 저물어 가니
  By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. "This is a remote place," they said, "and it's already very late.

36. 무리를 보내어 두루 촌과 마을로 가서 무엇을 사 먹게 하옵소서
  Send the people away so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat."

37. 대답하여 가라사대 너희가 먹을 것을 주라 하시니 여짜오되 우리가 가서 이백 데나리온의 떡을 사다 먹이리이까
  But he answered, "You give them something to eat." They said to him, "That would take eight months of a man's wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?"

38. 이르시되 너희에게 떡 몇 개나 있느냐 가서 보라 하시니 알아보고 가로되 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있더이다 하거늘
  "How many loaves do you have?" he asked. "Go and see." When they found out, they said, "Five--and two fish."

39. 제자들을 명하사 그 모든 사람으로 떼를 지어 푸른 잔디 위에 앉게 하시니
  Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass.

40. 떼로 혹 백씩, 혹 오십씩 앉은지라
  So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties.

41. 예수께서 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 가지사 하늘을 우러러 축사하시고 떡을 떼어 제자들에게 주어 사람들 앞에 놓게 하시고 또 물고기 두 마리도 모든 사람에게 나누어 주시매
  Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

42. 다 배불리 먹고
  They all ate and were satisfied,

43. 남은 떡 조각과 물고기를 열두 바구니에 차게 거두었으며
  and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish.

44. 떡을 먹은 남자가 오천 명이었더라
  The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.

45. 예수께서 즉시 제자들을 재촉하사 자기가 무리를 보내는 동안에 배 타고 앞서 건너편 벳새다로 가게 하시고
  Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.

46. 무리를 작별하신 후에 기도하러 산으로 가시다
  After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray.

47. 저물매 배는 바다 가운데 있고 예수는 홀로 뭍에 계시다가
  When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land.

48. 바람이 거스리므로 제자들의 괴로이 노 젓는 것을 보시고 밤 사경 즈음에 바다 위로 걸어서 저희에게 오사 지나가려고 하시매
  He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them,

49. 제자들이 그의 바다 위로 걸어오심을 보고 유령인가 하여 소리지르니
  but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out,

50. 저희가 다 예수를 보고 놀람이라 이에 예수께서 곧 더불어 말씀하여 가라사대 안심하라 내니 두려워 말라 하시고
  because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

51. 배에 올라 저희에게 가시니 바람이 그치는지라 제자들이 마음에 심히 놀라니
  Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed,

52. 이는 저희가 그 떡 떼시던 일을 깨닫지 못하고 도리어 그 마음이 둔하여졌음이러라
  for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.

53. 건너가 게네사렛 땅에 이르러 대고
  When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there.

54. 배에서 내리니 사람들이 곧 예수신 줄을 알고
  As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus.

55. 그 온 지방으로 달려 돌아다니며 예수께서 어디 계시단 말을 듣는 대로 병든 자를 침상채로 메고 나아오니
  They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.

56. 아무데나 예수께서 들어가시는 마을이나 도시나 촌에서 병자를 시장에 두고 예수의 옷가에라도 손을 대게 하시기를 간구하니 손을 대는 자는 다 성함을 얻으니라
  And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.

욥기 2

1. 또 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 서고 사단도 그들 가운데 와서 여호와 앞에 서니
  On another day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.

2. 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 땅에 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀왔나이다
  And the LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

3. 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 유의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자가 세상에 없느니라 네가 나를 격동하여 까닭 없이 그를 치게 하였어도 그가 오히려 자기의 순전을 굳게 지켰느니라
  Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason."

4. 사단이 여호와께 대답하여 가로되 가죽으로 가죽을 바꾸오니 사람이 그 모든 소유물로 자기의 생명을 바꾸올찌라
  "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will give all he has for his own life.

5. 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 뼈와 살을 치소서 그리하시면 정녕 대면하여 주를 욕하리이다
  But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face."

6. 여호와께서 사단에게 이르시되 내가 그를 네 손에 붙이노라 오직 그의 생명은 해하지 말찌니라
  The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."

7. 사단이 이에 여호와 앞에서 물러가서 욥을 쳐서 그 발바닥에서 정수리까지 악창이 나게 한지라
  So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.

8. 욥이 재 가운데 앉아서 기와 조각을 가져다가 몸을 긁고 있더니
  Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.

9. 그 아내가 그에게 이르되 당신이 그래도 자기의 순전을 굳게 지키느뇨 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라
  His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"

10. 그가 이르되 그대의 말이 어리석은 여자 중 하나의 말 같도다 우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 재앙도 받지 아니하겠느뇨 하고 이 모든 일에 욥이 입술로 범죄치 아니하니라
  He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

11. 때에 욥의 친구 세 사람이 그에게 이 모든 재앙이 임하였다 함을 듣고 각각 자기 처소에서부터 이르렀으니 곧 데만 사람 엘리바스와 수아 사람 빌닷과 나아마 사람 소발이라 그들이 욥을 조문하고 위로하려 하여 상약하고 오더니
  When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.

12. 눈을 들어 멀리 보매 그 욥인 줄 알기 어렵게 되었으므로 그들이 일제히 소리질러 울며 각각 자기의 겉옷을 찢고 하늘을 향하여 티끌을 날려 자기 머리에 뿌리고
  When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads.

13. 칠일 칠야를 그와 함께 땅에 앉았으나 욥의 곤고함이 심함을 보는고로 그에게 한 말도 하는 자가 없었더라
  Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was.

로마서 6

1. 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 은혜를 더하게 하려고 죄에 거하겠느뇨
  What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

2. 그럴 수 없느니라 죄에 대하여 죽은 우리가 어찌 그 가운데 더 살리요
  By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

3. 무릇 그리스도 예수와 합하여 세례를 받은 우리는 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례받은 줄을 알지 못하느뇨
  Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

4. 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이니라
  We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5. 만일 우리가 그의 죽으심을 본받아 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활을 본받아 연합한 자가 되리라
  If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.

6. 우리가 알거니와 우리 옛 사람이 예수와 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 것은 죄의 몸이 멸하여 다시는 우리가 죄에게 종 노릇 하지 아니하려 함이니
  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--

7. 이는 죽은 자가 죄에서 벗어나 의롭다 하심을 얻었음이니라
  because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

8. 만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살 줄을 믿노니
  Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

9. 이는 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 사셨으매 다시 죽지 아니하시고 사망이 다시 그를 주장하지 못할 줄을 앎이로라
  For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

10. 그의 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그의 살으심은 하나님께 대하여 살으심이니
  The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11. 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님을 대하여는 산 자로 여길찌어다
  In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12. 그러므로 너희는 죄로 너희 죽을 몸에 왕 노릇 하지 못하게 하여 몸의 사욕을 순종치 말고
  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

13. 또한 너희 지체를 불의의 병기로 죄에게 드리지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 산 자같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 병기로 하나님께 드리라
  Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

14. 죄가 너희를 주관치 못하리니 이는 너희가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있음이니라
  For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

15. 그런즉 어찌하리요 우리가 법 아래 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래 있으니 죄를 지으리요 그럴 수 없느니라
  What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!

16. 너희 자신을 종으로 드려 누구에게 순종하든지 그 순종함을 받는 자의 종이 되는 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 혹은 죄의 종으로 사망에 이르고 혹은 순종의 종으로 의에 이르느니라
  Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

17. 하나님께 감사하리로다 너희가 본래 죄의 종이더니 너희에게 전하여 준 바 교훈의 본을 마음으로 순종하여
  But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

18. 죄에게서 해방되어 의에게 종이 되었느니라
  You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19. 너희 육신이 연약하므로 내가 사람의 예대로 말하노니 전에 너희가 너희 지체를 부정과 불법에 드려 불법에 이른 것같이 이제는 너희 지체를 의에게 종으로 드려 거룩함에 이르라
  I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

20. 너희가 죄의 종이 되었을 때에는 의에 대하여 자유하였느니라
  When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

21. 너희가 그 때에 무슨 열매를 얻었느뇨 이제는 너희가 그 일을 부끄러워하나니 이는 그 마지막이 사망임이니라
  What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!

22. 그러나 이제는 너희가 죄에게서 해방되고 하나님께 종이 되어 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 얻었으니 이 마지막은 영생이라
  But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

23. 죄의 삯은 사망이요 하나님의 은사는 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에 있는 영생이니라
  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
