창세기 3

1. 여호와 하나님의 지으신 들짐승 중에 뱀이 가장 간교하더라 뱀이 여자에게 물어 가로되 하나님이 참으로 너희더러 동산 모든 나무의 실과를 먹지 말라 하시더냐
  Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

2. 여자가 뱀에게 말하되 동산 나무의 실과를 우리가 먹을 수 있으나
  The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,

3. 동산 중앙에 있는 나무의 실과는 하나님의 말씀에 너희는 먹지도 말고 만지지도 말라 너희가 죽을까 하노라 하셨느니라
  but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"

4. 뱀이 여자에게 이르되 너희가 결코 죽지 아니하리라
  "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.

5. 너희가 그것을 먹는 날에는 너희 눈이 밝아 하나님과 같이 되어 선악을 알 줄을 하나님이 아심이니라
  "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

6. 여자가 그 나무를 본즉 먹음직도 하고 보암직도 하고 지혜롭게 할 만큼 탐스럽기도 한 나무인지라 여자가 그 실과를 따먹고 자기와 함께한 남편에게도 주매 그도 먹은지라
  When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

7. 이에 그들의 눈이 밝아 자기들의 몸이 벗은 줄을 알고 무화과나무 잎을 엮어 치마를 하였더라
  Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

8. 그들이 날이 서늘할 때에 동산에 거니시는 여호와 하나님의 음성을 듣고 아담과 그 아내가 여호와 하나님의 낯을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨은지라
  Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

9. 여호와 하나님이 아담을 부르시며 그에게 이르시되 네가 어디 있느냐
  But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

10. 가로되 내가 동산에서 하나님의 소리를 듣고 내가 벗었으므로 두려워하여 숨었나이다
  He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."

11. 가라사대 누가 너의 벗었음을 네게 고하였느냐 내가 너더러 먹지 말라 명한 그 나무 실과를 네가 먹었느냐
  And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

12. 아담이 가로되 하나님이 주셔서 나와 함께 하게 하신 여자 그가 그 나무 실과를 내게 주므로 내가 먹었나이다
  The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."

13. 여호와 하나님이 여자에게 이르시되 네가 어찌하여 이렇게 하였느냐 여자가 가로되 뱀이 나를 꾀므로 내가 먹었나이다
  Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

14. 여호와 하나님이 뱀에게 이르시되 네가 이렇게 하였으니 네가 모든 육축과 들의 모든 짐승보다 더욱 저주를 받아 배로 다니고 종신토록 흙을 먹을지니라
  So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

15. 내가 너로 여자와 원수가 되게 하고 너의 후손도 여자의 후손과 원수가 되게 하리니 여자의 후손은 네 머리를 상하게 할 것이요 너는 그의 발꿈치를 상하게 할 것이니라 하시고
  And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

16. 또 여자에게 이르시되 내가 네게 잉태하는 고통을 크게 더하리니 네가 수고하고 자식을 낳을 것이며 너는 남편을 사모하고 남편은 너를 다스릴 것이니라 하시고
  To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

17. 아담에게 이르시되 네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 너더러 먹지 말라 한 나무 실과를 먹었은즉 땅은 너로 인하여 저주를 받고 너는 종신토록 수고하여야 그 소산을 먹으리라
  To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.

18. 땅이 네게 가시덤불과 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이라 너의 먹을 것은 밭의 채소인즉
  It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.

19. 네가 얼굴에 땀이 흘러야 식물을 먹고 필경은 흙으로 돌아가리니 그 속에서 네가 취함을 입었음이라 너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니라
  By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."

20. 아담이 그 아내를 하와라 이름하였으니 그는 모든 산 자의 어미가 됨이더라
  Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.

21. 여호와 하나님이 아담과 그 아내를 위하여 가죽옷을 지어 입히시니라
  The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

22. 여호와 하나님이 가라사대 보라 이 사람이 선악을 아는 일에 우리 중 하나같이 되었으니 그가 그 손을 들어 생명나무 실과도 따먹고 영생할까 하노라 하시고
  And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

23. 여호와 하나님이 에덴 동산에서 그 사람을 내어 보내어 그의 근본된 토지를 갈게 하시니라
  So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

24. 이같이 하나님이 그 사람을 쫓아내시고 에덴 동산 동편에 그룹들과 두루 도는 화염검을 두어 생명나무의 길을 지키게 하시니라
  After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

마태복음 3

1. 그 때에 세례 요한이 이르러 유대 광야에서 전파하여 가로되
  In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea

2. 회개하라 천국이 가까왔느니라 하였으니
  and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

3. 저는 선지자 이사야로 말씀하신 자라 일렀으되 광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 가로되 너희는 주의 길을 예비하라 그의 첩경을 평탄케 하라 하였느니라
  This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"

4. 이 요한은 약대 털옷을 입고 허리에 가죽띠를 띠고 음식은 메뚜기와 석청이었더라
  John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

5. 이 때에 예루살렘과 온 유대와 요단 강 사방에서 다 그에게 나아와
  People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan.

6. 자기들의 죄를 자복하고 요단 강에서 그에게 세례를 받더니
  Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

7. 요한이 많은 바리새인과 사두개인이 세례 베푸는 데 오는 것을 보고 이르되 독사의 자식들아 누가 너희를 가르쳐 임박한 진노를 피하라 하더냐
  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

8. 그러므로 회개에 합당한 열매를 맺고
  Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

9. 속으로 아브라함이 우리 조상이라고 생각지 말라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 하나님이 능히 이 돌들로도 아브라함의 자손이 되게 하시리라
  And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

10. 이미 도끼가 나무 뿌리에 놓였으니 좋은 열매 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍어 불에 던지우리라
  The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

11. 나는 너희로 회개케 하기 위하여 물로 세례를 주거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당치 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 세례를 주실 것이요
  "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

12. 손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곡간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라
  His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

13. 이 때에 예수께서 갈릴리로서 요단 강에 이르러 요한에게 세례를 받으려 하신대
  Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

14. 요한이 말려 가로되 내가 당신에게 세례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까
  But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"

15. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하신대 이에 요한이 허락하는지라
  Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.

16. 예수께서 세례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라 오실쌔 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니
  As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.

17. 하늘로서 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라
  And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

에스라 3

1. 이스라엘 자손이 그 본성에 거하였더니 칠월에 이르러 일제히 예루살렘에 모인지라
  When the seventh month came and the Israelites had settled in their towns, the people assembled as one man in Jerusalem.

2. 요사닥의 아들 예수아와 그 형제 제사장들과 스알디엘의 아들 스룹바벨과 그 형제들이 다 일어나 이스라엘 하나님의 단을 만들고 하나님의 사람 모세의 율법에 기록한대로 번제를 그 위에 드리려 할쌔
  Then Jeshua son of Jozadak and his fellow priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and his associates began to build the altar of the God of Israel to sacrifice burnt offerings on it, in accordance with what is written in the Law of Moses the man of God.

3. 무리가 열국 백성을 두려워하여 단을 그 터에 세우고 그 위에 조석으로 여호와께 번제를 드리며
  Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the LORD, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

4. 기록된 규례대로 초막절을 지켜 번제를 매일 정수대로 날마다 드리고
  Then in accordance with what is written, they celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles with the required number of burnt offerings prescribed for each day.

5. 그 후에는 항상 드리는 번제와 초하루와 여호와의 모든 거룩한 절기의 번제와 사람이 여호와께 즐거이 드리는 예물을 드리되
  After that, they presented the regular burnt offerings, the New Moon sacrifices and the sacrifices for all the appointed sacred feasts of the LORD, as well as those brought as freewill offerings to the LORD.

6. 칠월 초하루부터 비로소 여호와께 번제를 드렸으나 그 때에 여호와의 전 지대는 오히려 놓지 못한지라
  On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, though the foundation of the LORD'S temple had not yet been laid.

7. 이에 석수와 목수에게 돈을 주고 또 시돈 사람과 두로 사람에게 먹을 것과 마실 것과 기름을 주고 바사 왕 고레스의 조서대로 백향목을 레바논에서 욥바 해변까지 수운하게 하였더라
  Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.

8. 예루살렘 하나님의 전에 이른지 이년 이월에 스알디엘의 아들 스룹바벨과 요사닥의 아들 예수아와 다른 형제 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 무릇 사로잡혔다가 예루살렘에 돌아 온 자들이 역사를 시작하고 이십세 이상의 레위 사람들을 세워 여호와의 전 역사를 감독하게 하매
  In the second month of the second year after their arrival at the house of God in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Jeshua son of Jozadak and the rest of their brothers (the priests and the Levites and all who had returned from the captivity to Jerusalem) began the work, appointing Levites twenty years of age and older to supervise the building of the house of the LORD.

9. 이에 예수아와 그 아들들과 그 형제들과 갓미엘과 그 아들들과 유다 자손과 헤나닷 자손과 그 형제 레위 사람들이 일제히 일어나 하나님의 전 공장을 감독하니라
  Jeshua and his sons and brothers and Kadmiel and his sons (descendants of Hodaviah) and the sons of Henadad and their sons and brothers--all Levites--joined together in supervising those working on the house of God.

10. 건축자가 여호와의 전 지대를 놓을 때에 제사장들은 예복을 입고 나팔을 들고 아삽 자손 레위 사람들은 제금을 들고 서서 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 규례대로 여호와를 찬송하되
  When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the LORD, as prescribed by David king of Israel.

11. 서로 찬송가를 화답하며 여호와께 감사하여 가로되 주는 지선하시므로 그 인자하심이 이스라엘에게 영원하시도다 하니 모든 백성이 여호와의 전 지대가 놓임을 보고 여호와를 찬송하며 큰 소리로 즐거이 부르며
  With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD: "He is good; his love to Israel endures forever." And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

12. 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 족장들 중에 여러 노인은 첫 성전을 보았던 고로 이제 이 전 지대 놓임을 보고 대성 통곡하며 여러 사람은 기뻐하여 즐거이 부르니
  But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.

13. 백성의 크게 외치는 소리가 멀리 들리므로 즐거이 부르는 소리와 통곡하는 소리를 백성들이 분변치 못하였느니라
  No one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy from the sound of weeping, because the people made so much noise. And the sound was heard far away.

사도행전 3

1. 제 구시 기도 시간에 베드로와 요한이 성전에 올라갈쌔
  One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer--at three in the afternoon.

2. 나면서 앉은뱅이 된 자를 사람들이 메고 오니 이는 성전에 들어가는 사람들에게 구걸하기 위하여 날마다 미문이라는 성전문에 두는 자라
  Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

3. 그가 베드로와 요한이 성전에 들어가려 함을 보고 구걸하거늘
  When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

4. 베드로가 요한으로 더불어 주목하여 가로되 우리를 보라 하니
  Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!"

5. 그가 저희에게 무엇을 얻을까 하여 바라보거늘
  So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

6. 베드로가 가로되 은과 금은 내게 없거니와 내게 있는 것으로 네게 주노니 곧 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 걸으라 하고
  Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

7. 오른손을 잡아 일으키니 발과 발목이 곧 힘을 얻고
  Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.

8. 뛰어 서서 걸으며 그들과 함께 성전으로 들어가면서 걷기도 하고 뛰기도 하며 하나님을 찬미하니
  He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

9. 모든 백성이 그 걷는 것과 및 하나님을 찬미함을 보고
  When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

10. 그 본래 성전 미문에 앉아 구걸하던 사람인 줄 알고 그의 당한 일을 인하여 심히 기이히 여기며 놀라니라
  they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11. 나은 사람이 베드로와 요한을 붙잡으니 모든 백성이 크게 놀라며 달려 나아가 솔로몬의 행각이라 칭하는 행각에 모이거늘
  While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colonnade.

12. 베드로가 이것을 보고 백성에게 말하되 이스라엘 사람들아 이 일을 왜 기이히 여기느냐 우리 개인의 권능과 경건으로 이 사람을 걷게 한 것처럼 왜 우리를 주목하느냐
  When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

13. 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 하나님 곧 우리 조상의 하나님이 그 종 예수를 영화롭게 하셨느니라 너희가 저를 넘겨 주고 빌라도가 놓아 주기로 결안한 것을 너희가 그 앞에서 부인하였으니
  The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.

14. 너희가 거룩하고 의로운 자를 부인하고 도리어 살인한 사람을 놓아 주기를 구하여
  You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

15. 생명의 주를 죽였도다 그러나 하나님이 죽은 자 가운데서 살리셨으니 우리가 이 일에 증인이로라
  You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

16. 그 이름을 믿으므로 그 이름이 너희 보고 아는 이 사람을 성하게 하였나니 예수로 말미암아 난 믿음이 너희 모든 사람 앞에서 이같이 완전히 낫게 하였느니라
  By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

17. 형제들아 너희가 알지 못하여서 그리하였으며 너희 관원들도 그리한 줄 아노라
  "Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.

18. 그러나 하나님이 모든 선지자의 입을 의탁하사 자기의 그리스도의 해받으실 일을 미리 알게 하신 것을 이와 같이 이루셨느니라
  But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer.

19. 그러므로 너희가 회개하고 돌이켜 너희 죄 없이 함을 받으라 이같이 하면 유쾌하게 되는 날이 주 앞으로부터 이를 것이요
  Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

20. 또 주께서 너희를 위하여 예정하신 그리스도 곧 예수를 보내시리니
  and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even Jesus.

21. 하나님이 영원 전부터 거룩한 선지자의 입을 의탁하여 말씀하신 바 만유를 회복하실 때까지는 하늘이 마땅히 그를 받아 두리라
  He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

22. 모세가 말하되 주 하나님이 너희를 위하여 너희 형제 가운데서 나 같은 선지자 하나를 세울 것이니 너희가 무엇이든지 그 모든 말씀을 들을 것이라
  For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

23. 누구든지 그 선지자의 말을 듣지 아니하는 자는 백성 중에서 멸망받으리라 하였고
  Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.'

24. 또한 사무엘 때부터 옴으로 말한 모든 선지자도 이 때를 가리켜 말하였느니라
  "Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days.

25. 너희는 선지자들의 자손이요 또 하나님이 너희 조상으로 더불어 세우신 언약의 자손이라 아브라함에게 이르시기를 땅 위의 모든 족속이 너의 씨를 인하여 복을 받으리라 하셨으니
  And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.'

26. 하나님이 그 종을 세워 복 주시려고 너희에게 먼저 보내사 너희로 하여금 돌이켜 각각 그 악함을 버리게 하셨느니라
  When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."
