열왕기상 21

1. 그 후에 이 일이 있으니라 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 이스르엘에 포도원이 있어 사마리아 왕 아합의 궁에서 가깝더니
  Some time later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

2. 아합이 나봇에게 일러 가로되 네 포도원이 내 궁 곁에 가까이 있으니 내게 주어 나물밭을 삼게 하라 내가 그 대신에 그보다 더 아름다운 포도원을 네게 줄 것이요 만일 합의하면 그 값을 돈으로 네게 주리라
  Ahab said to Naboth, "Let me have your vineyard to use for a vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or, if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth."

3. 나봇이 아합에게 말하되 내 열조의 유업을 왕에게 주기를 여호와께서 금하실찌로다 하니
  But Naboth replied, "The LORD forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers."

4. 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 아합에게 대답하여 이르기를 내 조상의 유업을 왕께 줄 수 없다 함을 인하여 아합이 근심하고 답답하여 궁으로 돌아와서 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌이키고 식사를 아니하니
  So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers." He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat.

5. 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 나아와 가로되 왕의 마음에 무엇을 근심하여 식사를 아니하나이까
  His wife Jezebel came in and asked him, "Why are you so sullen? Why won't you eat?"

6. 왕이 이르되 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇에게 말하여 이르기를 네 포도원을 내게 주되 돈으로 바꾸거나 만일 네가 좋아하면 내가 그 대신에 포도원을 네게 주리라 한즉 저가 대답하기를 내가 내 포도원을 네게 주지 않겠노라 함을 인함이로라
  He answered her, "Because I said to Naboth the Jezreelite, 'Sell me your vineyard; or if you prefer, I will give you another vineyard in its place.' But he said, 'I will not give you my vineyard.'"

7. 그 아내 이세벨이 저에게 이르되 왕이 이제 이스라엘 나라를 다스리시나이까 일어나 식사를 하시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 왕께 드리리이다 하고
  Jezebel his wife said, "Is this how you act as king over Israel? Get up and eat! Cheer up. I'll get you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."

8. 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 쓰고 그 인을 쳐서 그 성에서 나봇과 함께 사는 장로와 귀인들에게 보내니
  So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, placed his seal on them, and sent them to the elders and nobles who lived in Naboth's city with him.

9. 그 편지 사연에 이르기를 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉힌 후에
  In those letters she wrote: "Proclaim a day of fasting and seat Naboth in a prominent place among the people.

10. 비류 두 사람을 그 앞에 마주 앉히고 저에게 대하여 증거하기를 네가 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하게 하고 곧 저를 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이라 하였더라
  But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them testify that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death."

11. 그 성 사람 곧 그 성에 사는 장로와 귀인들이 이세벨의 분부 곧 저가 자기들에게 보낸 편지에 쓴 대로 하여
  So the elders and nobles who lived in Naboth's city did as Jezebel directed in the letters she had written to them.

12. 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히매
  They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth in a prominent place among the people.

13. 때에 비류 두 사람이 들어와서 그 앞에 앉고 백성 앞에서 나봇에게 대하여 증거를 지어 이르기를 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하매 무리가 저를 성 밖으로 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이고
  Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying, "Naboth has cursed both God and the king." So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.

14. 이세벨에게 통보하기를 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다 하니
  Then they sent word to Jezebel: "Naboth has been stoned and is dead."

15. 이세벨이 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다 함을 듣고 아합에게 이르되 일어나서 그 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈으로 바꾸어 주기를 싫어하던 포도원을 취하소서 나봇이 살아 있지 아니하고 죽었나이다
  As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she said to Ahab, "Get up and take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite that he refused to sell you. He is no longer alive, but dead."

16. 아합이 나봇의 죽었다 함을 듣고 곧 일어나 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 취하러 그리로 내려갔더라
  When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he got up and went down to take possession of Naboth's vineyard.

17. 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite:

18. 너는 일어나 내려가서 사마리아에 거하는 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나라 저가 나봇의 포도원을 취하러 그리로 내려갔나니
  "Go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth's vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it.

19. 너는 저에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 네가 죽이고 또 빼앗았느냐 하셨다 하고 또 저에게 이르기를 여호와의 말씀이 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 곳에서 개들이 네 피 곧 네 몸의 피도 핥으리라 하셨다 하라
  Say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: Have you not murdered a man and seized his property?' Then say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboth's blood, dogs will lick up your blood--yes, yours!'"

20. 아합이 엘리야에게 이르되 나의 대적이여 네가 나를 찾았느냐 대답하되 내가 찾았노라 네가 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하였으므로
  Ahab said to Elijah, "So you have found me, my enemy!" "I have found you," he answered, "because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD.

21. 여호와의 말씀이 내가 재앙을 네게 내려 너를 쓸어 버리되 네게 속한 남자는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자를 다 멸할 것이요
  'I am going to bring disaster on you. I will consume your descendants and cut off from Ahab every last male in Israel--slave or free.

22. 또 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집처럼 되게 하고 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집처럼 되게 하리니 이는 네가 나의 노를 격동하고 이스라엘로 범죄케 한 까닭이니라 하셨고
  I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat and that of Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have provoked me to anger and have caused Israel to sin.'

23. 이세벨에게 대하여도 여호와께서 말씀하여 가라사대 개들이 이스르엘 성 곁에서 이세벨을 먹을찌라
  "And also concerning Jezebel the LORD says: 'Dogs will devour Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.'

24. 아합에게 속한 자로서 성읍에서 죽은 자는 개들이 먹고 들에서 죽은 자는 공중의 새가 먹으리라 하셨느니라 하니
  "Dogs will eat those belonging to Ahab who die in the city, and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country."

25. 예로부터 아합과 같이 스스로 팔려 여호와 보시기에 악을 행한 자가 없음은 저가 그 아내 이세벨에게 충동되었음이라
  (There was never a man like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the LORD, urged on by Jezebel his wife.

26. 저가 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 사람의 모든 행한 것같이 우상에게 복종하여 심히 가증하게 행하였더라
  He behaved in the vilest manner by going after idols, like the Amorites the LORD drove out before Israel.)

27. 아합이 이 모든 말씀을 들을 때에 그 옷을 찢고 굵은 베로 몸을 동이고 금식하고 굵은 베에 누우며 행보도 천천히 한지라
  When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted. He lay in sackcloth and went around meekly.

28. 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대
  Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite:

29. 아합이 내 앞에서 겸비함을 네가 보느냐 저가 내 앞에서 겸비함을 인하여 내가 재앙을 저의 시대에 내리지 아니하고 그 아들의 시대에야 그 집에 재앙을 내리리라 하셨더라
  "Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day, but I will bring it on his house in the days of his son."

데살로니가전서 4

1. 종말로 형제들아 우리가 주 예수 안에서 너희에게 구하고 권면하노니 너희가 마땅히 어떻게 행하며 하나님께 기쁘시게 할 것을 우리에게 받았으니 곧 너희 행하는 바라 더욱 많이 힘쓰라
  Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

2. 우리가 주 예수로 말미암아 너희에게 무슨 명령으로 준 것을 너희가 아느니라
  For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

3. 하나님의 뜻은 이것이니 너희의 거룩함이라 곧 음란을 버리고
  It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

4. 각각 거룩함과 존귀함으로 자기의 아내 취할 줄을 알고
  that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,

5. 하나님을 모르는 이방인과 같이 색욕을 좇지 말고
  not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;

6. 이 일에 분수를 넘어서 형제를 해하지 말라 이는 우리가 너희에게 미리 말하고 증거한 것과 같이 이 모든 일에 주께서 신원하여 주심이니라
  and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.

7. 하나님이 우리를 부르심은 부정케 하심이 아니요 거룩케 하심이니
  For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.

8. 그러므로 저버리는 자는 사람을 저버림이 아니요 너희에게 그의 성령을 주신 하나님을 저버림이니라
  Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

9. 형제 사랑에 관하여는 너희에게 쓸 것이 없음은 너희가 친히 하나님의 가르치심을 받아 서로 사랑함이라
  Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.

10. 너희가 온 마게도냐 모든 형제를 대하여 과연 이것을 행하도다 형제들아 권하노니 더 많이 하고
  And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.

11. 또 너희에게 명한 것같이 종용하여 자기 일을 하고 너희 손으로 일하기를 힘쓰라
  Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,

12. 이는 외인을 대하여 단정히 행하고 또한 아무 궁핍함이 없게 하려 함이라
  so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

13. 형제들아 자는 자들에 관하여는 너희가 알지 못함을 우리가 원치 아니하노니 이는 소망 없는 다른 이와 같이 슬퍼하지 않게 하려 함이라
  Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.

14. 우리가 예수의 죽었다가 다시 사심을 믿을찐대 이와 같이 예수 안에서 자는 자들도 하나님이 저와 함께 데리고 오시리라
  We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

15. 우리가 주의 말씀으로 너희에게 이것을 말하노니 주 강림하실 때까지 우리 살아 남아 있는 자도 자는 자보다 결단코 앞서지 못하리라
  According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16. 주께서 호령과 천사장의 소리와 하나님의 나팔로 친히 하늘로 좇아 강림하시리니 그리스도 안에서 죽은 자들이 먼저 일어나고
  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17. 그 후에 우리 살아 남은 자도 저희와 함께 구름 속으로 끌어올려 공중에서 주를 영접하게 하시리니 그리하여 우리가 항상 주와 함께 있으리라
  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

18. 그러므로 이 여러 말로 서로 위로하라
  Therefore encourage each other with these words.

다니엘 3

1. 느부갓네살 왕이 금으로 신상을 만들었으니 고는 육십 규빗이요 광은 여섯 규빗이라 그것을 바벨론 도의 두라 평지에 세웠더라
  King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feet wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.

2. 느부갓네살 왕이 보내어 방백과 수령과 도백과 재판관과 재무관과 모사와 법률사와 각 도 모든 관원을 자기 느부갓네살 왕의 세운 신상의 낙성 예식에 참집하게 하매
  He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.

3. 이에 방백과 수령과 도백과 재판관과 재무관과 모사와 법률사와 각 도 모든 관원이 느부갓네살왕의 세운 신상의 낙성 예식에 참집하여 느부갓네살왕의 세운 신상 앞에 서니라
  So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.

4. 반포하는 자가 크게 외쳐 가로되 백성들과 나라들과 각 방언하는 자들아 왕이 너희 무리에게 명하시나니
  Then the herald loudly proclaimed, "This is what you are commanded to do, O peoples, nations and men of every language:

5. 너희는 나팔과 피리와 수금과 삼현금과 양금과 생황과 및 모든 악기 소리를 들을 때에 엎드리어 느부갓네살 왕의 세운 금신상에게 절하라
  As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

6. 누구든지 엎드리어 절하지 아니하는 자는 즉시 극렬히 타는 풀무에 던져넣으리라 하매
  Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace."

7. 모든 백성과 나라들과 각 방언하는 자들이 나팔과 피리와 수금과 삼현금과 양금과 및 모든 악기 소리를 듣자 곧 느부갓네살 왕의 세운 금신상에게 엎드리어 절하니라
  Therefore, as soon as they heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp and all kinds of music, all the peoples, nations and men of every language fell down and worshiped the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

8. 그 때에 어떤 갈대아 사람들이 나아와 유다 사람들을 참소하니라
  At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews.

9. 그들이 느부갓네살 왕에게 고하여 가로되 왕이여 만세수를 하옵소서
  They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, "O king, live forever!

10. 왕이여 왕이 명령을 내리사 무릇 사람마다 나팔과 피리와 수금과 삼현금과 양금과 생황과 및 모든 악기 소리를 듣거든 엎드리어 금신상에게 절할 것이라
  You have issued a decree, O king, that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold,

11. 누구든지 엎드리어 절하지 아니하는 자는 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데 던져넣음을 당하리라 하지 아니하셨나이까
  and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a blazing furnace.

12. 이제 몇 유다 사람 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고는 왕이 세워 바벨론 도를 다스리게 하신 자이어늘 왕이여 이 사람들이 왕을 높이지 아니하며 왕의 신들을 섬기지 아니하며 왕이 세우신 금신상에게 절하지 아니하나이다
  But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon--Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego--who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up."

13. 느부갓네살 왕이 노하고 분하여 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 끌어오라 명하매 드디어 그 사람들을 왕의 앞으로 끌어온지라
  Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king,

14. 느부갓네살이 그들에게 물어 가로되 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고야 너희가 내 신을 섬기지 아니하며 내가 세운 금 신상에게 절하지 아니하니 짐짓 그리하였느냐
  and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?

15. 이제라도 너희가 예비하였다가 언제든지 나팔과 피리와 수금과 삼현금과 양금과 생황과 및 모든 악기 소리를 듣거든 내가 만든 신상 앞에 엎드리어 절하면 좋거니와 너희가 만일 절하지 아니하면 즉시 너희를 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데 던져넣을 것이니 능히 너희를 내 손에서 건져낼 신이 어떤 신이겠느냐
  Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?"

16. 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고가 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 느부갓네살이여 우리가 이 일에 대하여 왕에게 대답할 필요가 없나이다
  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.

17. 만일 그럴 것이면 왕이여 우리가 섬기는 우리 하나님이 우리를 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데서 능히 건져내시겠고 왕의 손에서도 건져내시리이다
  If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.

18. 그리 아니하실찌라도 왕이여 우리가 왕의 신들을 섬기지도 아니하고 왕의 세우신 금 신상에게 절하지도 아니할 줄을 아옵소서
  But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

19. 느부갓네살이 분이 가득하여 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 향하여 낯빛을 변하고 명하여 이르되 그 풀무를 뜨겁게 하기를 평일보다 칠 배나 뜨겁게 하라 하고
  Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual

20. 군대 중 용사 몇 사람을 명하여 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 결박하여 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데 던지라 하니
  and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace.

21. 이 사람들을 고의와 속옷과 겉옷과 별다른 옷을 입은 채 결박하여 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데 던질 때에
  So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace.

22. 왕의 명령이 엄하고 풀무가 심히 뜨거우므로 불꽃이 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 붙든 사람을 태워 죽였고
  The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,

23. 이 세 사람 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고는 결박된 채 극렬히 타는 풀무 가운데 떨어졌더라
  and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.

24. 때에 느부갓네살 왕이 놀라 급히 일어나서 모사들에게 물어 가로되 우리가 결박하여 불 가운데 던진 자는 세 사람이 아니었느냐 그들이 왕에게 대답하여 가로되 왕이여 옳소이다
  Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, O king."

25. 왕이 또 말하여 가로되 내가 보니 결박되지 아니한 네 사람이 불 가운데로 다니는데 상하지도 아니하였고 그 네째의 모양은 신들의 아들과 같도다 하고
  He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."

26. 느부갓네살이 극렬히 타는 풀무 아구 가까이 가서 불러 가로되 지극히 높으신 하나님의 종 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고야 나와서 이리로 오라 하매 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고가 불 가운데서 나온지라
  Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!" So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,

27. 방백과 수령과 도백과 왕의 모사들이 모여 이 사람들을 본즉 불이 능히 그 몸을 해하지 못하였고 머리털도 그슬리지 아니하였고 고의 빛도 변하지 아니하였고 불탄 냄새도 없었더라
  and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

28. 느부갓네살이 말하여 가로되 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고의 하나님을 찬송할찌로다 그가 그 사자를 보내사 자기를 의뢰하고 그 몸을 버려서 왕의 명을 거역하고 그 하나님 밖에는 다른 신을 섬기지 아니하며 그에게 절하지 아니한 종들을 구원하셨도다
  Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

29. 그러므로 내가 이제 조서를 내리노니 각 백성과 각 나라와 각 방언하는 자가 무릇 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고의 하나님께 설만히 말하거든 그 몸을 쪼개고 그 집으로 거름터를 삼을찌니 이는 이같이 사람을 구원할 다른 신이 없음이니라 하고
  Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way."

30. 왕이 드디어 사드락과 메삭과 아벳느고를 바벨론 도에서 더욱 높이니라
  Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

시편 107

1. 여호와께 감사하라 그는 선하시며 그 인자하심이 영원함이로다
  Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

2. 여호와께 구속함을 받은 자는 이 같이 말할찌어다 여호와께서 대적의 손에서 저희를 구속하사
  Let the redeemed of the LORD say this--those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,

3. 동서 남북 각 지방에서부터 모으셨도다
  those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

4. 저희가 광야 사막 길에서 방황하며 거할 성을 찾지 못하고
  Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.

5. 주리고 목마름으로 그 영혼이 속에서 피곤하였도다
  They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.

6. 이에 저희가 그 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그 고통에서 건지시고
  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

7. 또 바른 길로 인도하사 거할 성에 이르게 하셨도다
  He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.

8. 여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기이한 일을 인하여 그를 찬송할찌로다
  Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men,

9. 저가 사모하는 영혼을 만족케 하시며 주린 영혼에게 좋은 것으로 채워주심이로다
  for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

10. 사람이 흑암과 사망의 그늘에 앉으며 곤고와 쇠사슬에 매임은
  Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains,

11. 하나님의 말씀을 거역하며 지존자의 뜻을 멸시함이라
  for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.

12. 그러므로 수고로 저희 마음을 낮추셨으니 저희가 엎드러져도 돕는 자가 없었도다
  So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

13. 이에 저희가 그 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그 고통에서 구원하시되
  Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

14. 흑암과 사망의 그늘에서 인도하여 내시고 그 얽은 줄을 끊으셨도다
  He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.

15. 여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기이한 일을 인하여 그를 찬송할찌로다
  Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men,

16. 저가 놋문을 깨뜨리시며 쇠빗장을 꺾으셨음이로다
  for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.

17. 미련한 자는 저희 범과와 죄악의 연고로 곤난을 당하매
  Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.

18. 저희 혼이 각종 식물을 싫어하여 사망의 문에 가깝도다
  They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.

19. 이에 저희가 그 근심 중에서 여호와께 부르짖으매 그 고통에서 구원하시되
  Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

20. 저가 그 말씀을 보내어 저희를 고치사 위경에서 건지시는도다
  He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

21. 여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기이한 일을 인하여 그를 찬송할찌로다
  Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

22. 감사제를 드리며 노래하여 그 행사를 선포할찌로다
  Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.

23. 선척을 바다에 띄우며 큰 물에서 영업하는 자는
  Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.

24. 여호와의 행사와 그 기사를 바다에서 보나니
  They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep.

25. 여호와께서 명하신즉 광풍이 일어나서 바다 물결을 일으키는도다
  For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.

26. 저희가 하늘에 올랐다가 깊은 곳에 내리니 그 위험을 인하여 그 영혼이 녹는도다
  They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.

27. 저희가 이리저리 구르며 취한 자같이 비틀거리니 지각이 혼돈하도다
  They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits' end.

28. 이에 저희가 그 근심 중에서 여호와께 부르짖으매 그 고통에서 인도하여 내시고
  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.

29. 광풍을 평정히 하사 물결로 잔잔케 하시는도다
  He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.

30. 저희가 평온함을 인하여 기뻐하는 중에 여호와께서 저희를 소원의 항구로 인도하시는도다
  They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.

31. 여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기이한 일을 인하여 그를 찬송할찌로다
  Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

32. 백성의 회에서 저를 높이며 장로들의 자리에서 저를 찬송할찌로다
  Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.

33. 여호와께서는 강을 변하여 광야가 되게 하시며 샘으로 마른 땅이 되게 하시며
  He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,

34. 그 거민의 악을 인하여 옥토로 염밭이 되게 하시며
  and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.

35. 또 광야를 변하여 못이 되게 하시며 마른 땅으로 샘물이 되게 하시고
  He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;

36. 주린 자로 거기 거하게 하사 저희로 거할 성을 예비케 하시고
  there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.

37. 밭에 파종하며 포도원을 재배하여 소산을 취케 하시며
  They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;

38. 또 복을 주사 저희로 크게 번성케 하시고 그 가축이 감소치 않게 하실지라도
  he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.

39. 다시 압박과 곤란과 우환을 인하여 저희로 감소하여 비굴하게 하시는도다
  Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;

40. 여호와께서는 방백들에게 능욕을 부으시고 길 없는 황야에서 유리케 하시나
  he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.

41. 궁핍한 자는 곤란에서 높이 드시고 그 가족을 양 무리 같게 하시나니
  But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.

42. 정직한 자는 보고 기뻐하며 모든 악인은 자기 입을 봉하리로다
  The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.

43. 지혜 있는 자들은 이 일에 주의하고 여호와의 인자하심을 깨달으리로다
  Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.
