사무엘하 18

1. 이에 다윗이 그 함께한 백성을 계수하고 천부장과 백부장을 그 위에 세우고
  David mustered the men who were with him and appointed over them commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds.

2. 그 백성을 내어 보낼쌔 삼분지 일은 요압의 수하에, 삼분지 일은 스루야의 아들 요압의 동생 아비새의 수하에 붙이고 삼분지 일은 가드 사람 잇대의 수하에 붙이고 백성에게 이르되 나도 반드시 너희와 함께 나가리라
  David sent the troops out--a third under the command of Joab, a third under Joab's brother Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third under Ittai the Gittite. The king told the troops, "I myself will surely march out with you."

3. 백성들이 가로되 왕은 나가지 마소서 우리가 도망할찌라도 저희는 우리에게 주의하지 아니할 터이요 우리가 절반이나 죽을찌라도 우리에게 주의하지 아니할 터이라 왕은 우리 만명보다 중하시오니 왕은 성에 계시다가 우리를 도우심이 좋으니이다
  But the men said, "You must not go out; if we are forced to flee, they won't care about us. Even if half of us die, they won't care; but you are worth ten thousand of us. It would be better now for you to give us support from the city."

4. 왕이 저희에게 이르되 너희가 선히 여기는 대로 내가 행하리라 하고 문 곁에 서매 모든 백성이 백 명씩 천 명씩 대를 지어 나가는지라
  The king answered, "I will do whatever seems best to you." So the king stood beside the gate while all the men marched out in units of hundreds and of thousands.

5. 왕이 요압과 아비새와 잇대에게 명하여 가로되 나를 위하여 소년 압살롬을 너그러이 대접하라 하니 왕이 압살롬을 위하여 모든 군장에게 명령할 때에 백성들이 다 들으니라
  The king commanded Joab, Abishai and Ittai, "Be gentle with the young man Absalom for my sake." And all the troops heard the king giving orders concerning Absalom to each of the commanders.

6. 이에 백성이 이스라엘을 치러 들로 나가서 에브라임 수풀에서 싸우더니
  The army marched into the field to fight Israel, and the battle took place in the forest of Ephraim.

7. 거기서 이스라엘 무리가 다윗의 신복들에게 패하매 그 날 그곳에서 살륙이 커서 이만에 이르렀고
  There the army of Israel was defeated by David's men, and the casualties that day were great--twenty thousand men.

8. 그 땅에서 사면으로 퍼져 싸웠으므로 그 날에 수풀에서 죽은 자가 칼에 죽은 자보다 많았더라
  The battle spread out over the whole countryside, and the forest claimed more lives that day than the sword.

9. 압살롬이 다윗의 신복과 마주치니라 압살롬이 노새를 탔는데 그 노새가 큰 상수리나무 번성한 가지 아래로 지날 때에 압살롬의 머리털이 그 상수리나무에 걸리매 저가 공중에 달리고 그 탔던 노새는 그 아래로 빠져나간지라
  Now Absalom happened to meet David's men. He was riding his mule, and as the mule went under the thick branches of a large oak, Absalom's head got caught in the tree. He was left hanging in midair, while the mule he was riding kept on going.

10. 한 사람이 보고 요압에게 고하여 가로되 내가 보니 압살롬이 상수리나무에 달렸더이다
  When one of the men saw this, he told Joab, "I just saw Absalom hanging in an oak tree."

11. 요압이 그 고한 사람에게 이르되 네가 보고 어찌하여 당장에 쳐서 땅에 떨어뜨리지 아니하였느뇨 내가 네게 은 열 개와 띠 하나를 주었으리라
  Joab said to the man who had told him this, "What! You saw him? Why didn't you strike him to the ground right there? Then I would have had to give you ten shekels of silver and a warrior's belt."

12. 그 사람이 요압에게 대답하되 내가 내 손에 은 천개를 받는다 할 찌라도 나는 왕의 아들에게 손을 대지 아니하겠나이다 우리가 들었거니와 왕이 당신과 아비새와 잇대에게 명하여 이르시기를 삼가 누구든지 소년 압살롬을 해하지 말라 하셨나이다
  But the man replied, "Even if a thousand shekels were weighed out into my hands, I would not lift my hand against the king's son. In our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai, 'Protect the young man Absalom for my sake.'

13. 아무 일도 왕 앞에는 숨길 수 없나니 내가 만일 거역하여 그 생명을 해하였더면 당신도 나를 대적하였으리이다
  And if I had put my life in jeopardy--and nothing is hidden from the king--you would have kept your distance from me."

14. 요압이 가로되 나는 너와 같이 지체할 수 없다 하고 손에 작은 창 셋을 가지고 가서 상수리나무 가운데서 아직 살아 있는 압살롬의 심장을 찌르니
  Joab said, "I'm not going to wait like this for you." So he took three javelins in his hand and plunged them into Absalom's heart while Absalom was still alive in the oak tree.

15. 요압의 병기를 맡은 소년 열이 압살롬을 에워싸고 쳐죽이니라
  And ten of Joab's armor-bearers surrounded Absalom, struck him and killed him.

16. 요압이 나팔을 불어 백성들로 그치게 하니 저희가 이스라엘을 따르지 아니하고 돌아오니라
  Then Joab sounded the trumpet, and the troops stopped pursuing Israel, for Joab halted them.

17. 무리가 압살롬을 옮겨다가 수풀 가운데 큰 구멍에 던지고 그 위에 심히 큰 돌무더기를 쌓으니라 온 이스라엘 무리가 각기 장막으로 도망하니라
  They took Absalom, threw him into a big pit in the forest and piled up a large heap of rocks over him. Meanwhile, all the Israelites fled to their homes.

18. 압살롬이 살았을 때에 자기를 위하여 한 비석을 가져 세웠으니 이는 저가 자기 이름을 전할 아들이 없음을 한탄함이라 그러므로 자기 이름으로 그 비석을 이름하였으며 그 비석이 왕의 골짜기에 있고 이제까지 압살롬의 기념비라 일컫더라
  During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King's Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought, "I have no son to carry on the memory of my name." He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom's Monument to this day.

19. 사독의 아들 아히마아스가 가로되 청컨대 나로 빨리 왕에게 가서 여호와께서 왕의 원수 갚아 주신 소식을 전하게 하소서
  Now Ahimaaz son of Zadok said, "Let me run and take the news to the king that the LORD has delivered him from the hand of his enemies."

20. 요압이 저에게 이르되 너는 오늘 소식을 전하는 자가 되지 말고 다른 날에 전할 것이니라 왕의 아들이 죽었나니 네가 오늘날 소식을 전하지 못하리라 하고
  "You are not the one to take the news today," Joab told him. "You may take the news another time, but you must not do so today, because the king's son is dead."

21. 구스 사람에게 이르되 네가 가서 본 것을 왕께 고하라 하매 구스 사람이 요압에게 절하고 달음질하여 가니
  Then Joab said to a Cushite, "Go, tell the king what you have seen." The Cushite bowed down before Joab and ran off.

22. 사독의 아들 아히마아스가 다시 요압에게 이르되 청컨대 아무쪼록 나로 또한 구스 사람의 뒤를 따라 달음질하게 하소서 요압이 가로되 내 아들아 왜 달음질하려 하느냐 이 소식으로 인하여는 상을 받지 못하리라 하되
  Ahimaaz son of Zadok again said to Joab, "Come what may, please let me run behind the Cushite." But Joab replied, "My son, why do you want to go? You don't have any news that will bring you a reward."

23. 저가 아무쪼록 달음질하겠노라 하는지라 요압이 가로되 그리하라 하니 아히마아스가 들길로 달음질하여 구스 사람보다 앞서니라
  He said, "Come what may, I want to run." So Joab said, "Run!" Then Ahimaaz ran by way of the plain and outran the Cushite.

24. 때에 다윗이 두 문 사이에 앉았더라 파숫군이 성문루에 올라가서 눈을 들어 보니 어떤 사람이 홀로 달음질하는지라
  While David was sitting between the inner and outer gates, the watchman went up to the roof of the gateway by the wall. As he looked out, he saw a man running alone.

25. 파숫군이 외쳐 왕께 고하매 왕이 가로되 저가 만일 혼자면 그 입에 소식이 있으리라 할 때에 저가 차차 가까이 오니라
  The watchman called out to the king and reported it. The king said, "If he is alone, he must have good news." And the man came closer and closer.

26. 파숫군이 본즉 한 사람이 또 달음질하는지라 문지기에게 외쳐 이르되 보라 한 사람이 또 혼자 달음질한다 하니 왕이 가로되 저도 소식을 가져오느니라
  Then the watchman saw another man running, and he called down to the gatekeeper, "Look, another man running alone!" The king said, "He must be bringing good news, too."

27. 파숫군이 가로되 나 보기에는 앞선 사람의 달음질이 사독의 아들 아히마아스의 달음질과 같으니이다 왕이 가로되 저는 좋은 사람이니 좋은 소식을 가져 오느니라
  The watchman said, "It seems to me that the first one runs like Ahimaaz son of Zadok." "He's a good man," the king said. "He comes with good news."

28. 아히마아스가 외쳐 왕께 말씀하되 평강하옵소서 하고 왕의 앞에서 얼굴을 땅에 대고 절하여 가로되 왕의 하나님 여호와를 찬양하리로소이다 그 손을 들어 내 주 왕을 대적하는 자들을 붙여 주셨나이다
  Then Ahimaaz called out to the king, "All is well!" He bowed down before the king with his face to the ground and said, "Praise be to the LORD your God! He has delivered up the men who lifted their hands against my lord the king."

29. 왕이 가로되 소년 압살롬이 잘 있느냐 아히마아스가 대답하되 요압이 왕의 종 나를 보낼 때에 크게 소동하는 것을 보았사오나 무슨 일인지 알지 못하였나이다
  The king asked, "Is the young man Absalom safe?" Ahimaaz answered, "I saw great confusion just as Joab was about to send the king's servant and me, your servant, but I don't know what it was."

30. 왕이 가로되 물러나 곁에 서 있으라 하매 물러나서 섰더라
  The king said, "Stand aside and wait here." So he stepped aside and stood there.

31. 구스 사람이 이르러 고하되 내 주 왕께 보할 소식이 있나이다 여호와께서 오늘날 왕을 대적하던 모든 원수를 갚으셨나이다
  Then the Cushite arrived and said, "My lord the king, hear the good news! The LORD has delivered you today from all who rose up against you."

32. 왕이 구스 사람에게 묻되 소년 압살롬이 잘 있느냐 구스 사람이 대답하되 내 주 왕의 원수와 일어나서 왕을 대적하는 자들은 다 그 소년과 같이 되기를 원하나이다
  The king asked the Cushite, "Is the young man Absalom safe?" The Cushite replied, "May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rise up to harm you be like that young man."

33. 왕의 마음이 심히 아파 문루로 올라가서 우니라 저가 올라갈 때에 말하기를 내 아들 압살롬아 내 아들 내 아들 압살롬아 내가 너를 대신하여 죽었더면, 압살롬 내 아들아 내 아들아 하였더라
  The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you--O Absalom, my son, my son!"

고린도후서 11

1. 원컨대 너희는 나의 좀 어리석은 것을 용납하라 청컨대 나를 용납하라
  I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness; but you are already doing that.

2. 내가 하나님의 열심으로 너희를 위하여 열심 내노니 내가 너희를 정결한 처녀로 한 남편인 그리스도께 드리려고 중매함이로다
  I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

3. 뱀이 그 간계로 이와를 미혹케 한 것같이 너희 마음이 그리스도를 향하는 진실함과 깨끗함에서 떠나 부패할까 두려워하노라
  But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

4. 만일 누가 가서 우리의 전파하지 아니한 다른 예수를 전파하거나 혹 너희의 받지 아니한 다른 영을 받게 하거나 혹 너희의 받지 아니한 다른 복음을 받게 할 때에는 너희가 잘 용납하는구나
  For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

5. 내가 지극히 큰 사도들보다 부족한 것이 조금도 없는 줄 생각하노라
  But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles."

6. 내가 비록 말에는 졸하나 지식에는 그렇지 아니하니 이것을 우리가 모든 사람 가운데서 모든 일로 너희에게 나타내었노라
  I may not be a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.

7. 내가 너희를 높이려고 나를 낮추어 하나님의 복음을 값없이 너희에게 전함으로 죄를 지었느냐
  Was it a sin for me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching the gospel of God to you free of charge?

8. 내가 너희를 섬기기 위하여 다른 여러 교회에서 요를 받은 것이 탈취한 것이라
  I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so as to serve you.

9. 또 내가 너희에게 있어 용도가 부족하되 아무에게도 누를 끼치지 아니함은 마게도냐에서 온 형제들이 나의 부족한 것을 보충하였음이라 내가 모든 일에 너희에게 폐를 끼치지 않기 위하여 스스로 조심하였거니와 또 조심하리라
  And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

10. 그리스도의 진리가 내 속에 있으니 아가야 지방에서 나의 이 자랑이 막히지 아니하리라
  As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, nobody in the regions of Achaia will stop this boasting of mine.

11. 어떠한 연고뇨 내가 너희를 사랑하지 아니함이냐 하나님이 아시느니라
  Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12. 내가 하는 것을 또 하리니 기회를 찾는 자들의 그 기회를 끊어 저희로 하여금 그 자랑하는 일에 대하여 우리와 같이 되게 하려 함이로라
  And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.

13. 저런 사람들은 거짓 사도요 궤휼의 역군이니 자기를 그리스도의 사도로 가장하는 자들이니라
  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.

14. 이것이 이상한 일이 아니라 사단도 자기를 광명의 천사로 가장하나니
  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

15. 그러므로 사단의 일군들도 자기를 의의 일군으로 가장하는 것이 또한 큰 일이 아니라 저희의 결국은 그 행위대로 되리라
  It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

16. 내가 다시 말하노니 누구든지 나를 어리석은 자로 여기지 말라 만일 그러하더라도 나로 조금 자랑하게 어리석은 자로 받으라
  I repeat: Let no one take me for a fool. But if you do, then receive me just as you would a fool, so that I may do a little boasting.

17. 내가 말하는 것은 주를 따라 하는 말이 아니요 오직 어리석은 자와 같이 기탄없이 자랑하노라
  In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool.

18. 여러 사람이 육체를 따라 자랑하니 나도 자랑하겠노라
  Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast.

19. 너희는 지혜로운 자로서 어리석은 자들을 기쁘게 용납하는구나
  You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise!

20. 누가 너희로 종을 삼거나 잡아 먹거나 사로잡거나 자고하다 하거나 뺨을 칠찌라도 너희가 용납하는도다
  In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or pushes himself forward or slaps you in the face.

21. 우리가 약한 것같이 내가 욕되게 말하노라 그러나 누가 무슨 일에 담대하면 어리석은 말이나마 나도 담대하리라
  To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that! What anyone else dares to boast about--I am speaking as a fool--I also dare to boast about.

22. 저희가 히브리인이냐 나도 그러하며 저희가 이스라엘인이냐 나도 그러하며 저희가 아브라함의 씨냐 나도 그러하며
  Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham's descendants? So am I.

23. 저희가 그리스도의 일군이냐 정신 없는 말을 하거니와 나도 더욱 그러하도다 내가 수고를 넘치도록 하고 옥에 갇히기도 더 많이 하고 매도 수없이 맞고 여러번 죽을뻔 하였으니
  Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.

24. 유대인들에게 사십에 하나 감한 매를 다섯 번 맞았으며
  Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.

25. 세 번 태장으로 맞고 한 번 돌로 맞고 세 번 파선하는데 일 주야를 깊음에서 지냈으며
  Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,

26. 여러 번 여행에 강의 위험과 강도의 위험과 동족의 위험과 이방인의 위험과 시내의 위험과 광야의 위험과 바다의 위험과 거짓 형제 중의 위험을 당하고
  I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers.

27. 또 수고하며 애쓰고 여러 번 자지 못하고 주리며 목마르고 여러 번 굶고 춥고 헐벗었노라
  I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.

28. 이외의 일은 고사하고 오히려 날마다 내 속에 눌리는 일이 있으니 곧 모든 교회를 위하여 염려하는 것이라
  Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

29. 누가 약하면 내가 약하지 아니하며 누가 실족하게 되면 내가 애타하지 않더냐
  Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?

30. 내가 부득불 자랑할찐대 나의 약한 것을 자랑하리라
  If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

31. 주 예수의 아버지 영원히 찬송할 하나님이 나의 거짓말 아니하는 줄을 아시느니라
  The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is to be praised forever, knows that I am not lying.

32. 다메섹에서 아레다왕의 방백이 나를 잡으려고 다메섹 성을 지킬쌔
  In Damascus the governor under King Aretas had the city of the Damascenes guarded in order to arrest me.

33. 내가 광주리를 타고 들창문으로 성벽을 내려가 그 손에서 벗어났노라
  But I was lowered in a basket from a window in the wall and slipped through his hands.

에스겔 25

1. 여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
  The word of the LORD came to me:

2. 인자야 암몬 족속을 향하여 그들을 쳐서 예언하라 너는 암몬 족속에게 이르기를 너희는 주 여호와의 말씀을 들을찌어다 주 여호와의 말씀에 내 성소를 더럽힐 때에 네가 그것을 대하여, 이스라엘 땅이 황무할 때에 네가 그것을 대하여, 유다 족속이 사로잡힐 때에 네가 그들을 대하여 이르기를 아하 좋다 하였도다
  "Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them.

3. 2절과 같음
  Say to them, 'Hear the word of the Sovereign LORD. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you said "Aha!" over my sanctuary when it was desecrated and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile,

4. 그러므로 내가 너를 동방 사람에게 기업으로 붙이리니 그들이 네 가운데 진을 치며 네 가운데 그 거처를 베풀며 네 실과를 먹으며 네 젖을 마실찌라
  therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East as a possession. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.

5. 내가 랍바로 약대의 우리를 만들며 암몬 족속의 땅으로 양 무리의 눕는 곳을 삼은즉 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
  I will turn Rabbah into a pasture for camels and Ammon into a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

6. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 네가 이스라엘 땅을 대하여 손뼉을 치며 발을 구르며 마음을 다하여 멸시하며 즐거워하였나니
  For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet, rejoicing with all the malice of your heart against the land of Israel,

7. 그런즉 내가 손을 네 위에 펴서 너를 다른 민족에게 붙여 노략을 당하게 하며 너를 만민 중에 끊어 버리며 너를 열국 중에서 패망케 하여 멸하리니 네가 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
  therefore I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.'"

8. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 모압과 세일이 이르기를 유다 족속은 모든 이방과 일반이라 하도다
  "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Because Moab and Seir said, "Look, the house of Judah has become like all the other nations,"

9. 그러므로 내가 모압의 한편 곧 그 나라 변경에 있는 영화로운 성읍들 벧여시못과 바알므온과 기랴다임을 열고
  therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns--Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon and Kiriathaim--the glory of that land.

10. 암몬 족속 일반으로 동방 사람에게 붙여 기업을 삼게 할 것이라 암몬 족속으로 다시는 이방 가운데서 기억되지 아니하게 하려니와
  I will give Moab along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered among the nations;

11. 내가 모압에 벌을 내리리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
  and I will inflict punishment on Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'"

12. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 에돔이 유다 족속을 쳐서 원수를 갚았고 원수를 갚음으로 심히 범죄하였도다
  "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Because Edom took revenge on the house of Judah and became very guilty by doing so,

13. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 내 손을 에돔 위에 펴서 사람과 짐승을 그 가운데서 끊어 데만에서부터 황무하게 하리니 드단까지 칼에 엎드러지리라
  therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and kill its men and their animals. I will lay it waste, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.

14. 내가 내 백성 이스라엘의 손을 빙자하여 내 원수를 에돔에게 갚으리니 그들이 내 노와 분을 따라 에돔에 행한즉 내가 원수를 갚음인 줄을 에돔이 알리라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
  I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom in accordance with my anger and my wrath; they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign LORD.'"

15. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 블레셋 사람이 옛날부터 미워하여 멸시하는 마음으로 원수를 갚아 진멸코자 하였도다
  "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice in their hearts, and with ancient hostility sought to destroy Judah,

16. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 블레셋 사람 위에 손을 펴서 그렛 사람을 끊으며 해변에 남은 자를 진멸하되
  therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethites and destroy those remaining along the coast.

17. 분노의 책벌로 내 원수를 그들에게 크게 갚으리라 내가 그들에게 원수를 갚은즉 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하시니라
  I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.'"

시편 73

1. 하나님이 참으로 이스라엘 중 마음이 정결한 자에게 선을 행하시나
  A psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

2. 나는 거의 실족할 뻔하였고 내 걸음이 미끄러질 뻔하였으니
  But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.

3. 이는 내가 악인의 형통함을 보고 오만한 자를 질시하였음이로다
  For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4. 저희는 죽는 때에도 고통이 없고 그 힘이 건강하며
  They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.

5. 타인과 같은 고난이 없고 타인과 같은 재앙도 없나니
  They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills.

6. 그러므로 교만이 저희 목걸이요 강포가 저희의 입는 옷이며
  Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.

7. 살찜으로 저희 눈이 솟아나며 저희 소득은 마음의 소원보다 지나며
  From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits.

8. 저희는 능욕하며 악하게 압제하여 말하며 거만히 말하며
  They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression.

9. 저희 입은 하늘에 두고 저희 혀는 땅에 두루 다니도다
  Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.

10. 그러므로 그 백성이 이리로 돌아와서 잔에 가득한 물을 다 마시며
  Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.

11. 말하기를 하나님이 어찌 알랴 지극히 높은 자에게 지식이 있으랴 하도다
  They say, "How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?"

12. 볼지어다 이들은 악인이라 항상 평안하고 재물은 더 하도다
  This is what the wicked are like--always carefree, they increase in wealth.

13. 내가 내 마음을 정히 하며 내 손을 씻어 무죄하다 한 것이 실로 헛되도다
  Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure; in vain have I washed my hands in innocence.

14. 나는 종일 재앙을 당하며 아침마다 징책을 보았도다
  All day long I have been plagued; I have been punished every morning.

15. 내가 만일 스스로 이르기를 내가 이렇게 말하리라 하였더면 주의 아들들의 시대를 대하여 궤휼을 행하였으리이다
  If I had said, "I will speak thus," I would have betrayed your children.

16. 내가 어찌면 이를 알까 하여 생각한즉 내게 심히 곤란하더니
  When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me

17. 하나님의 성소에 들어갈 때에야 저희 결국을 내가 깨달았나이다
  till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.

18. 주께서 참으로 저희를 미끄러운 곳에 두시며 파멸에 던지시니
  Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.

19. 저희가 어찌 그리 졸지에 황폐되었는가 놀람으로 전멸하였나이다
  How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors!

20. 주여 사람이 깬 후에는 꿈을 무시함같이 주께서 깨신 후에 저희 형상을 멸시하시리이다
  As a dream when one awakes, so when you arise, O Lord, you will despise them as fantasies.

21. 내 마음이 산란하며 내 심장이 찔렸나이다
  When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered,

22. 내가 이같이 우매무지하니 주의 앞에 짐승이오나
  I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.

23. 내가 항상 주와 함께 하니 주께서 내 오른손을 붙드셨나이다
  Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.

24. 주의 교훈으로 나를 인도하시고 후에는 영광으로 나를 영접하시리니
  You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

25. 하늘에서는 주 외에 누가 내게 있으리요 땅에서는 주밖에 나의 사모할 자 없나이다
  Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

26. 내 육체와 마음은 쇠잔하나 하나님은 내 마음의 반석이시요 영원한 분깃이시라
  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

27. 대저 주를 멀리하는 자는 망하리니 음녀같이 주를 떠난 자를 주께서 다 멸하셨나이다
  Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.

28. 하나님께 가까이 함이 내게 복이라 내가 주 여호와를 나의 피난처로 삼아 주의 모든 행사를 전파하리이다
  But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
