사무엘상 16

1. 여호와께서 사무엘에게 이르시되 내가 이미 사울을 버려 이스라엘 왕이 되지 못하게 하였거늘 네가 그를 위하여 언제까지 슬퍼하겠느냐 너는 기름을 뿔에 채워 가지고 가라 내가 너를 베들레헴 사람 이새에게로 보내리니 이는 내가 그 아들 중에서 한 왕을 예선하였음이니라
  The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."

2. 사무엘이 가로되 내가 어찌 갈 수 있으리이까 사울이 들으면 나를 죽이리이다 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 암송아지를 끌고 가서 말하기를 내가 여호와께 제사를 드리러 왔다 하고
  But Samuel said, "How can I go? Saul will hear about it and kill me." The LORD said, "Take a heifer with you and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'

3. 이새를 제사에 청하라 내가 너의 행할 일을 가르치리니 내가 네게 알게 하는 자에게 나를 위하여 기름을 부을찌니라
  Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate."

4. 사무엘이 여호와의 말씀대로 행하여 베들레헴에 이르매 성읍 장로들이 떨며 그를 영접하여 가로되 평강을 위하여 오시나이까
  Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, "Do you come in peace?"

5. 가로되 평강을 위함이니라 내가 여호와께 제사하러 왔으니 스스로 성결케 하고 와서 나와 함께 제사하자 하고 이새와 그 아들들을 성결케 하고 제사에 청하니라
  Samuel replied, "Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.

6. 그들이 오매 사무엘이 엘리압을 보고 마음에 이르기를 여호와의 기름 부으실 자가 과연 그 앞에 있도다 하였더니
  When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD'S anointed stands here before the LORD."

7. 여호와께서 사무엘에게 이르시되 그 용모와 신장을 보지 말라 내가 이미 그를 버렸노라 나의 보는 것은 사람과 같지 아니하니 사람은 외모를 보거니와 나 여호와는 중심을 보느니라
  But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

8. 이새가 아비나답을 불러 사무엘의 앞을 지나게 하매 사무엘이 가로되 이도 여호와께서 택하지 아니하셨느니라
  Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, "The LORD has not chosen this one either."

9. 이새가 삼마로 지나게 하매 사무엘이 가로되 이도 여호와께서 택하지 아니하셨느니라
  Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, "Nor has the LORD chosen this one."

10. 이새가 그 아들 일곱으로 다 사무엘 앞을 지나게 하나 사무엘이 이새에게 이르되 여호와께서 이들을 택하지 아니하셨느니라 하고
  Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, "The LORD has not chosen these."

11. 또 이새에게 이르되 네 아들들이 다 여기 있느냐 이새가 가로되 아직 말째가 남았는데 그가 양을 지키나이다 사무엘이 이새에게 이르되 보내어 그를 데려오라 그가 여기 오기까지는 우리가 식사 자리에 앉지 아니하겠노라
  So he asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?" "There is still the youngest," Jesse answered, "but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said, "Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives."

12. 이에 보내어 그를 데려오매 그의 빛이 붉고 눈이 빼어나고 얼굴이 아름답더라 여호와께서 가라사대 이가 그니 일어나 기름을 부으라
  So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one."

13. 사무엘이 기름 뿔을 취하여 그 형제 중에서 그에게 부었더니 이 날 이후로 다윗이 여호와의 신에게 크게 감동되니라 사무엘이 떠나서 라마로 가니라
  So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah.

14. 여호와의 신이 사울에게서 떠나고 여호와의 부리신 악신이 그를 번뇌케 한지라
  Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.

15. 사울의 신하들이 그에게 이르되 보소서 하나님의 부리신 악신이 왕을 번뇌케 하온즉
  Saul's attendants said to him, "See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you.

16. 원컨대 우리 주는 주의 앞에 모시는 신하에게 명하여 수금 잘 탈 줄 아는 사람을 구하게 하소서 하나님의 부리신 악신이 왕에게 이를 때에 그가 손으로 타면 왕이 나으시리이다
  Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes upon you, and you will feel better."

17. 사울이 신하에게 이르되 나를 위하여 잘 타는 사람을 구하여 내게로 데려오라
  So Saul said to his attendants, "Find someone who plays well and bring him to me."

18. 소년 중 한 사람이 대답하여 가로되 내가 베들레헴 사람 이새의 아들을 본즉 탈 줄을 알고 호기와 무용과 구변이 있는 준수한 자라 여호와께서 그와 함께 계시더이다
  One of the servants answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the LORD is with him."

19. 사울이 이에 사자를 이새에게 보내어 이르되 양 치는 네 아들 다윗을 내게로 보내라 하매
  Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep."

20. 이새가 떡과 한 가죽 부대의 포도주와 염소 새끼를 나귀에 실리고 그 아들 다윗의 손으로 사울에게 보내니
  So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them with his son David to Saul.

21. 다윗이 사울에게 이르러 그 앞에 모셔 서매 사울이 그를 크게 사랑하여 자기의 병기 든 자를 삼고
  David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers.

22. 이새에게 사람을 보내어 이르되 청컨대 다윗으로 내 앞에 모셔 서게 하라 그가 내게 은총을 얻었느니라 하니라
  Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, "Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him."

23. 하나님의 부리신 악신이 사울에게 이를 때에 다윗이 수금을 취하여 손으로 탄즉 사울이 상쾌하여 낫고 악신은 그에게서 떠나더라
  Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

로마서 14

1. 믿음이 연약한 자를 너희가 받되 그의 의심하는 바를 비판하지 말라
  Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters.

2. 어떤 사람은 모든 것을 먹을 만한 믿음이 있고 연약한 자는 채소를 먹느니라
  One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

3. 먹는 자는 먹지 않는 자를 업신여기지 말고 먹지 못하는 자는 먹는 자를 판단하지 말라 이는 하나님이 저를 받으셨음이니라
  The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.

4. 남의 하인을 판단하는 너는 누구뇨 그 섰는 것이나 넘어지는 것이 제 주인에게 있으매 저가 세움을 받으리니 이는 저를 세우시는 권능이 주께 있음이니라
  Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

5. 혹은 이 날을 저 날보다 낫게 여기고 혹은 모든 날을 같게 여기나니 각각 자기 마음에 확정할찌니라
  One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

6. 날을 중히 여기는 자도 주를 위하여 중히 여기고 먹는 자도 주를 위하여 먹으니 이는 하나님께 감사함이요 먹지 않는 자도 주를 위하여 먹지 아니하며 하나님께 감사하느니라
  He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

7. 우리 중에 누구든지 자기를 위하여 사는 자가 없고 자기를 위하여 죽는 자도 없도다
  For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.

8. 우리가 살아도 주를 위하여 살고 죽어도 주를 위하여 죽나니 그러므로 사나 죽으나 우리가 주의 것이로라
  If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

9. 이를 위하여 그리스도께서 죽었다가 다시 살으셨으니 곧 죽은 자와 산 자의 주가 되려 하심이니라
  For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

10. 네가 어찌하여 네 형제를 판단하느뇨 어찌하여 네 형제를 업신여기느뇨 우리가 다 하나님의 심판대 앞에 서리라
  You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

11. 기록되었으되 주께서 가라사대 내가 살았노니 모든 무릎이 내게 꿇을 것이요 모든 혀가 하나님께 자백하리라 하였느니라
  It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'"

12. 이러므로 우리 각인이 자기 일을 하나님께 직고하리라
  So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

13. 그런즉 우리가 다시는 서로 판단하지 말고 도리어 부딪힐 것이나 거칠 것으로 형제 앞에 두지 아니할 것을 주의하라
  Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

14. 내가 주 예수 안에서 알고 확신하는 것은 무엇이든지 스스로 속된 것이 없으되 다만 속되게 여기는 그 사람에게는 속되니라
  As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

15. 만일 식물을 인하여 네 형제가 근심하게 되면 이는 네가 사랑으로 행치 아니함이라 그리스도께서 대신하여 죽으신 형제를 네 식물로 망케 하지 말라
  If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

16. 그러므로 너희의 선한 것이 비방을 받지 않게 하라
  Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.

17. 하나님의 나라는 먹는 것과 마시는 것이 아니요 오직 성령 안에서 의와 평강과 희락이라
  For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

18. 이로써 그리스도를 섬기는 자는 하나님께 기뻐하심을 받으며 사람에게도 칭찬을 받느니라
  because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

19. 이러므로 우리가 화평의 일과 서로 덕을 세우는 일을 힘쓰나니
  Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

20. 식물을 인하여 하나님의 사업을 무너지게 말라 만물이 다 정하되 거리낌으로 먹는 사람에게는 악하니라
  Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

21. 고기도 먹지 아니하고 포도주도 마시지 아니하고 무엇이든지 네 형제로 거리끼게 하는 일을 아니함이 아름다우니라
  It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.

22. 네게 있는 믿음을 하나님 앞에서 스스로 가지고 있으라 자기의 옳다 하는 바로 자기를 책하지 아니하는 자는 복이 있도다
  So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

23. 의심하고 먹는 자는 정죄되었나니 이는 믿음으로 좇아 하지 아니한 연고라 믿음으로 좇아 하지 아니하는 모든 것이 죄니라
  But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

예레미야애가 1

1. 슬프다 이 성이여 본래는 거민이 많더니 이제는 어찌 그리 적막히 앉았는고 본래는 열국 중에 크던 자가 이제는 과부 같고 본래는 열방 중에 공주 되었던 자가 이제는 조공 드리는 자가 되었도다
  How deserted lies the city, once so full of people! How like a widow is she, who once was great among the nations! She who was queen among the provinces has now become a slave.

2. 밤새도록 애곡하니 눈물이 뺨에 흐름이여 사랑하던 자 중에 위로하는 자가 없고 친구도 다 배반하여 원수가 되었도다
  Bitterly she weeps at night, tears are upon her cheeks. Among all her lovers there is none to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.

3. 유다는 환난과 많은 수고로 인하여 사로잡혀 갔도다 저가 열방에 거하여 평강을 얻지 못함이여 그 모든 핍박하는 자가 저를 쫓아 협착한 곳에 미쳤도다
  After affliction and harsh labor, Judah has gone into exile. She dwells among the nations; she finds no resting place. All who pursue her have overtaken her in the midst of her distress.

4. 시온의 도로가 처량함이여 절기에 나아가는 사람이 없음이로다 모든 성문이 황적하며 제사장들이 탄식하며 처녀들이 근심하며 저도 곤고를 받았도다
  The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her maidens grieve, and she is in bitter anguish.

5. 저의 대적이 머리가 되고 저의 원수가 형통함은 저의 죄가 많으므로 여호와께서 곤고케 하셨음이라 어린 자녀들이 대적에게 사로잡혔도다
  Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. The LORD has brought her grief because of her many sins. Her children have gone into exile, captive before the foe.

6. 처녀 시온의 모든 영광이 떠나감이여 저의 목백은 꼴을 찾지 못한 사슴이 쫓는 자 앞에서 힘없이 달림 같도다
  All the splendor has departed from the Daughter of Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; in weakness they have fled before the pursuer.

7. 예루살렘이 환난과 군박을 당하는 날에 옛날의 모든 즐거움을 생각함이여 백성이 대적의 손에 빠지나 돕는 자가 없고 대적은 보고 그 황적함을 비웃도다
  In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers all the treasures that were hers in days of old. When her people fell into enemy hands, there was no one to help her. Her enemies looked at her and laughed at her destruction.

8. 예루살렘이 크게 범죄하므로 불결한 자같이 되니 전에 높이던 모든 자가 그 적신을 보고 업신여김이여 저가 탄식하며 물러가도다
  Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns away.

9. 저의 더러움이 그 치마에 있으나 결국을 생각지 아니함이여 그러므로 놀랍게 낮아져도 위로할 자가 없도다 여호와여 원수가 스스로 큰 체하오니 나의 환난을 감찰하소서
  Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. "Look, O LORD, on my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed."

10. 대적이 손을 펴서 보물을 빼앗았나이다 주께서 이미 이방인을 금하여 주의 공회에 들어오지 못하게 하셨사오나 저희가 성소에 들어간 것을 예루살렘이 보았나이다
  The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary--those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.

11. 그 모든 백성이 생명을 소성시키려고 보물로 식물들을 바꾸었더니 지금도 탄식하며 양식을 구하나이다 나는 비천하오니 여호와여 나를 권고하옵소서
  All her people groan as they search for bread; they barter their treasures for food to keep themselves alive. "Look, O LORD, and consider, for I am despised."

12. 무릇 지나가는 자여 너희에게는 관계가 없는가 내게 임한 근심 같은 근심이 있는가 볼찌어다 여호와께서 진노하신 날에 나를 괴롭게 하신 것이로다
  "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see. Is any suffering like my suffering that was inflicted on me, that the LORD brought on me in the day of his fierce anger?

13. 위에서부터 나의 골수에 불을 보내어 이기게 하시고 내 발 앞에 그물을 베푸사 나로 물러가게 하셨음이여 종일토록 고적하여 곤비케 하셨도다
  "From on high he sent fire, sent it down into my bones. He spread a net for my feet and turned me back. He made me desolate, faint all the day long.

14. 내 죄악의 멍에를 그 손으로 묶고 얽어 내 목에 올리사 내 힘을 피곤케 하셨음이여 내가 당할 수 없는 자의 손에 주께서 나를 붙이셨도다
  "My sins have been bound into a yoke; by his hands they were woven together. They have come upon my neck and the Lord has sapped my strength. He has handed me over to those I cannot withstand.

15. 주께서 내 지경 안 모든 용사를 없는 것같이 여기시고 성회를 모아 내 소년들을 부수심이여 처녀 유다를 술틀에 밟으셨도다
  "The Lord has rejected all the warriors in my midst; he has summoned an army against me to crush my young men. In his winepress the Lord has trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah.

16. 이를 인하여 내가 우니 내 눈에 눈물이 물같이 흐름이여 나를 위로하여 내 영을 소성시킬 자가 멀리 떠났음이로다 원수들이 이기매 내 자녀들이 외롭도다
  "This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears. No one is near to comfort me, no one to restore my spirit. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed."

17. 시온이 두 손을 폈으나 위로할 자가 없도다 여호와께서 야곱의 사면에 있는 자를 명하여 야곱의 대적이 되게 하셨으니 예루살렘은 저희 가운데 불결한 자 같도다
  Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them.

18. 여호와는 의로우시도다 내가 여호와의 명령을 거역하였도다 너희 모든 백성들아 내 말을 듣고 내 근심을 볼찌어다 나의 처녀와 소년들이 사로잡혀 갔도다
  "The LORD is righteous, yet I rebelled against his command. Listen, all you peoples; look upon my suffering. My young men and maidens have gone into exile.

19. 내가 내 사랑하는 자를 불렀으나 저희가 나를 속였으며 나의 제사장들과 장로들은 소성시킬 식물을 구하다가 성중에서 기절하였도다
  "I called to my allies but they betrayed me. My priests and my elders perished in the city while they searched for food to keep themselves alive.

20. 여호와여 돌아보옵소서 내가 환난 중에서 마음이 괴롭고 마음이 번뇌하오니 나의 패역이 심히 큼이니이다 밖으로는 칼의 살륙이 있고 집에는 사망 같은 것이 있나이다
  "See, O LORD, how distressed I am! I am in torment within, and in my heart I am disturbed, for I have been most rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death.

21. 저희가 나의 탄식을 들었으나 나를 위로하는 자가 없고 나의 모든 원수가 나의 재앙을 들었으나 주께서 이렇게 행하심을 기뻐하나이다 주께서 반포하신 날을 이르게 하시리니 저희가 나와 같이 되겠나이다
  "People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my distress; they rejoice at what you have done. May you bring the day you have announced so they may become like me.

22. 저희 모든 악을 주 앞에 나타내시고 나의 모든 죄악을 인하여 내게 행하신 것같이 저희에게 행하옵소서 나의 탄식이 많고 나의 마음이 곤비하니이다
  "Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. My groans are many and my heart is faint."

시편 32

1. 허물의 사함을 얻고 그 죄의 가리움을 받은 자는 복이 있도다
  Of David. A maskil. Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

2. 마음에 간사가 없고 여호와께 정죄를 당치 않은 자는 복이 있도다
  Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.

3. 내가 토설치 아니할 때에 종일 신음하므로 내 뼈가 쇠하였도다
  When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

4. 주의 손이 주야로 나를 누르시오니 내 진액이 화하여 여름 가물에 마름같이 되었나이다 (셀라)
  For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah

5. 내가 이르기를 내 허물을 여호와께 자복하리라 하고 주께 내 죄를 아뢰고 내 죄악을 숨기지 아니하였더니 곧 주께서 내 죄의 악을 사하셨나이다 (셀라)
  Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"--and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

6. 이로 인하여 무릇 경건한 자는 주를 만날 기회를 타서 주께 기도할찌라 진실로 홍수가 범람할찌라도 저에게 미치지 못하리이다
  Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.

7. 주는 나의 은신처이오니 환난에서 나를 보호하시고 구원의 노래로 나를 에우시리이다 (셀라)
  You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah

8. 내가 너의 갈 길을 가르쳐 보이고 너를 주목하여 훈계하리로다
  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

9. 너희는 무지한 말이나 노새 같이 되지 말찌어다 그것들은 자갈과 굴레로 단속하지 아니하면 너희에게 가까이 오지 아니하리로다
  Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

10. 악인에게는 많은 슬픔이 있으나 여호와를 신뢰하는 자에게는 인자하심이 두르리로다
  Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD'S unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.

11. 너희 의인들아 여호와를 기뻐하며 즐거워할찌어다 마음이 정직한 너희들아 다 즐거이 외칠찌어다
  Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
