사무엘상 4

1. 사무엘의 말이 온 이스라엘에 전파되니라 이스라엘은 나가서 블레셋 사람과 싸우려고 에벤에셀 곁에 진치고 블레셋 사람은 아벡에 진쳤더니
  And Samuel's word came to all Israel. Now the Israelites went out to fight against the Philistines. The Israelites camped at Ebenezer, and the Philistines at Aphek.

2. 이스라엘을 대하여 항오를 벌이니라 그 둘이 싸우다가 이스라엘이 블레셋 사람 앞에서 패하여 그들에게 전쟁에서 죽임을 당한 군사가 사천 명 가량이라
  The Philistines deployed their forces to meet Israel, and as the battle spread, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who killed about four thousand of them on the battlefield.

3. 백성이 진으로 돌아오매 이스라엘 장로들이 가로되 여호와께서 어찌하여 우리로 오늘 블레셋 사람 앞에 패하게 하셨는고 여호와의 언약궤를 실로에서 우리에게로 가져다가 우리 중에 있게 하여 그것으로 우리를 우리 원수들의 손에서 구원하게 하자 하니
  When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, "Why did the LORD bring defeat upon us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the LORD'S covenant from Shiloh, so that it may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies."

4. 이에 백성이 실로에 보내어 그룹 사이에 계신 만군의 여호와의 언약궤를 거기서 가져왔고 엘리의 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스는 하나님의 언약궤와 함께 거기 있었더라
  So the people sent men to Shiloh, and they brought back the ark of the covenant of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim. And Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

5. 여호와의 언약궤가 진에 들어올 때에 온 이스라엘이 큰 소리로 외치매 땅이 울린지라
  When the ark of the LORD'S covenant came into the camp, all Israel raised such a great shout that the ground shook.

6. 블레셋 사람이 그 외치는 소리를 듣고 가로되 히브리 진에서 큰 소리로 외침은 어찜이뇨 하다가 여호와의 궤가 진에 들어온 줄을 깨달은지라
  Hearing the uproar, the Philistines asked, "What's all this shouting in the Hebrew camp?" When they learned that the ark of the LORD had come into the camp,

7. 블레셋 사람이 두려워하여 가로되 신이 진에 이르렀도다 하고 또 가로되 우리에게 화로다 전일에는 이런 일이 없었도다
  the Philistines were afraid. "A god has come into the camp," they said. "We're in trouble! Nothing like this has happened before.

8. 우리에게 화로다 누가 우리를 이 능한 신들의 손에서 건지리요 그들은 광야에서 여러 가지 재앙으로 애굽인을 친 신들이니라
  Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? They are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the desert.

9. 너희 블레셋 사람들아 강하게 되며 대장부가 되어라 너희가 히브리 사람의 종이 되기를 그들이 너희의 종이 되었던 것같이 말고 대장부같이 되어 싸우라 하고
  Be strong, Philistines! Be men, or you will be subject to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Be men, and fight!"

10. 블레셋 사람이 쳤더니 이스라엘이 패하여 각기 장막으로 도망하였고 살륙이 심히 커서 이스라엘 보병의 엎드러진 자가 삼만이었으며
  So the Philistines fought, and the Israelites were defeated and every man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great; Israel lost thirty thousand foot soldiers.

11. 하나님의 궤는 빼앗겼고 엘리의 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스는 죽임을 당하였더라
  The ark of God was captured, and Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

12. 당일에 어떤 베냐민 사람이 진에서 달려나와 그 옷을 찢고 그 머리에 티끌을 무릅쓰고 실로에 이르니라
  That same day a Benjamite ran from the battle line and went to Shiloh, his clothes torn and dust on his head.

13. 그가 이를 때는 엘리가 길 곁 자기 의자에 앉아 기다리며 그 마음이 여호와의 궤로 인하여 떨릴 즈음이라 그 사람이 성에 들어오며 고하매 온 성이 부르짖는지라
  When he arrived, there was Eli sitting on his chair by the side of the road, watching, because his heart feared for the ark of God. When the man entered the town and told what had happened, the whole town sent up a cry.

14. 엘리가 그 부르짖는 소리를 듣고 가로되 이 훤화하는 소리는 어찜이뇨 그 사람이 빨리 와서 엘리에게 고하니
  Eli heard the outcry and asked, "What is the meaning of this uproar?" The man hurried over to Eli,

15. 때에 엘리의 나이 구십팔이라 그 눈이 어두워서 보지 못하더라
  who was ninety-eight years old and whose eyes were set so that he could not see.

16. 그 사람이 엘리에게 고하되 나는 진중에서 나온 자라 내가 오늘 진중에서 도망하여 왔나이다 엘리가 가로되 내 아들아 일이 어찌 되었느냐
  He told Eli, "I have just come from the battle line; I fled from it this very day." Eli asked, "What happened, my son?"

17. 소식을 전하는 자가 대답하여 가로되 이스라엘이 블레셋 사람 앞에서 도망하였고 백성 중에는 큰 살륙이 있었고 당신의 두 아들 홉니와 비느하스도 죽임을 당하였고 하나님의 궤는 빼앗겼나이다
  The man who brought the news replied, "Israel fled before the Philistines, and the army has suffered heavy losses. Also your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured."

18. 하나님의 궤를 말할 때에 엘리가 자기 의자에서 자빠져 문 곁에서 목이 부러져 죽었으니 나이 많고 비둔한 연고라 그가 이스라엘 사사가 된 지 사십 년이었더라
  When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell backward off his chair by the side of the gate. His neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man and heavy. He had led Israel forty years.

19. 그의 며느리 비느하스의 아내가 잉태하여 산기가 가까왔더니 하나님의 궤 빼앗긴 것과 그 시부와 남편의 죽은 소문을 듣고 갑자기 아파서 몸을 구푸려 해산하고
  His daughter-in-law, the wife of Phinehas, was pregnant and near the time of delivery. When she heard the news that the ark of God had been captured and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she went into labor and gave birth, but was overcome by her labor pains.

20. 죽어갈 때에 곁에 섰던 여인들이 그에게 이르되 두려워 말라 네가 아들을 낳았다 하되 그가 대답지도 아니하며 관념치도 아니하고
  As she was dying, the women attending her said, "Don't despair; you have given birth to a son." But she did not respond or pay any attention.

21. 이르기를 영광이 이스라엘에서 떠났다 하고 아이 이름을 이가봇이라 하였으니 하나님의 궤가 빼앗겼고 그 시부와 남편이 죽었음을 인함이며
  She named the boy Ichabod, saying, "The glory has departed from Israel"--because of the capture of the ark of God and the deaths of her father-in-law and her husband.

22. 또 이르기를 하나님의 궤를 빼앗겼으므로 영광이 이스라엘에서 떠났다 하였더라
  She said, "The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured."

로마서 4

1. 그런즉 육신으로 우리 조상 된 아브라함이 무엇을 얻었다 하리요
  What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter?

2. 만일 아브라함이 행위로써 의롭다 하심을 얻었으면 자랑할 것이 있으려니와 하나님 앞에서는 없느니라
  If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about--but not before God.

3. 성경이 무엇을 말하느뇨 아브라함이 하나님을 믿으매 이것이 저에게 의로 여기신 바 되었느니라
  What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."

4. 일하는 자에게는 그 삯을 은혜로 여기지 아니하고 빚으로 여기거니와
  Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.

5. 일을 아니할찌라도 경건치 아니한 자를 의롭다 하시는 이를 믿는 자에게는 그의 믿음을 의로 여기시나니
  However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

6. 일한 것이 없이 하나님께 의로 여기심을 받는 사람의 행복에 대하여 다윗의 말한 바
  David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

7. 그 불법을 사하심을 받고 그 죄를 가리우심을 받는 자는 복이 있고
  "Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

8. 주께서 그 죄를 인정치 아니하실 사람은 복이 있도다 함과 같으니라
  Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him."

9. 그런즉 이 행복이 할례자에게뇨 혹 무할례자에게도뇨 대저 우리가 말하기를 아브라함에게는 그 믿음을 의로 여기셨다 하노라
  Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness.

10. 그런즉 이를 어떻게 여기셨느뇨 할례 시냐 무할례 시냐 할례 시가 아니라 무할례 시니라
  Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before!

11. 저가 할례의 표를 받은 것은 무할례 시에 믿음으로 된 의를 인친 것이니 이는 무할례자로서 믿는 모든 자의 조상이 되어 저희로 의로 여기심을 얻게 하려 하심이라
  And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them.

12. 또한 할례자의 조상이 되었나니 곧 할례받을 자에게 뿐 아니라 우리 조상 아브라함의 무할례 시에 가졌던 믿음의 자취를 좇는 자들에게도니라
  And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

13. 아브라함이나 그 후손에게 세상의 후사가 되리라고 하신 언약은 율법으로 말미암은 것이 아니요 오직 믿음의 의로 말미암은 것이니라
  It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

14. 만일 율법에 속한 자들이 후사이면 믿음은 헛것이 되고 약속은 폐하여졌느니라
  For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless,

15. 율법은 진노를 이루게 하나니 율법이 없는 곳에는 범함도 없느니라
  because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

16. 그러므로 후사가 되는 이것이 은혜에 속하기 위하여 믿음으로 되나니 이는 그 약속을 그 모든 후손에게 굳게 하려 하심이라 율법에 속한 자에게 뿐 아니라 아브라함의 믿음에 속한 자에게도니 아브라함은 하나님 앞에서 우리 모든 사람의 조상이라
  Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

17. 기록된 바 내가 너를 많은 민족의 조상으로 세웠다 하심과 같으니 그의 믿은 바 하나님은 죽은 자를 살리시며 없는 것을 있는 것같이 부르시는 이시니라
  As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

18. 아브라함이 바랄 수 없는 중에 바라고 믿었으니 이는 네 후손이 이 같으리라 하신 말씀대로 많은 민족의 조상이 되게 하려 하심을 인함이라
  Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

19. 그가 백 세나 되어 자기 몸의 죽은 것 같음과 사라의 태의 죽은 것 같음을 알고도 믿음이 약하여지지 아니하고
  Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead--since he was about a hundred years old--and that Sarah's womb was also dead.

20. 믿음이 없어 하나님의 약속을 의심치 않고 믿음에 견고하여져서 하나님께 영광을 돌리며
  Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,

21. 약속하신 그것을 또한 능히 이루실 줄을 확신하였으니
  being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

22. 그러므로 이것을 저에게 의로 여기셨느니라
  This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."

23. 저에게 의로 여기셨다 기록된 것은 아브라함만 위한 것이 아니요
  The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone,

24. 의로 여기심을 받을 우리도 위함이니 곧 예수 우리 주를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이를 믿는 자니라
  but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

25. 예수는 우리 범죄함을 위하여 내어 줌이 되고 또한 우리를 의롭다 하심을 위하여 살아나셨느니라
  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

예레미야 43

1. 예레미야가 모든 백성에게 그들의 하나님 여호와의 말씀 곧 그들의 하나님 여호와께서 자기를 보내사 그들에게 이르게 하신 이 모든 말씀을 다 말하매
  When Jeremiah finished telling the people all the words of the LORD their God--everything the LORD had sent him to tell them--

2. 호사야의 아들 아사랴와 가레아의 아들 요하난과 및 모든 교만한 자가 예레미야에게 말하여 가로되 네가 거짓을 말하는도다 우리 하나님 여호와께서는 너희는 애굽에 거하려고 그리로 가지 말라고 너를 보내어 말하게 하지 아니하셨느니라
  Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah, "You are lying! The LORD our God has not sent you to say, 'You must not go to Egypt to settle there.'

3. 이는 네리야의 아들 바룩이 너를 꼬드겨서 우리를 대적하여 갈대아인의 손에 붙여 죽이며 바벨론으로 잡아가게 하려 함이니라 하고
  But Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to hand us over to the Babylonians, so they may kill us or carry us into exile to Babylon."

4. 이에 가레아의 아들 요하난과 모든 군대 장관과 모든 백성이 유다 땅에 거하라 하시는 여호와의 목소리를 청종치 아니하고
  So Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers and all the people disobeyed the LORD'S command to stay in the land of Judah.

5. 가레아의 아들 요하난과 모든 군대 장관이 유다의 남은 자 곧 쫓겨났던 열방 중에서 유다 땅에 거하려 하여 돌아온 자
  Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and all the army officers led away all the remnant of Judah who had come back to live in the land of Judah from all the nations where they had been scattered.

6. 곧 남자와 여자와 유아와 왕의 딸들과 시위대장 느부사라단이 사반의 손자 아히감의 아들 그다랴에게 넘겨 둔 모든 사람과 선지자 예레미야와 네리야의 아들 바룩을 영솔하고
  They also led away all the men, women and children and the king's daughters whom Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch son of Neriah.

7. 애굽 땅에 들어가 다바네스에 이르렀으니 그들이 여호와의 목소리를 청종치 아니함이 이러하였더라
  So they entered Egypt in disobedience to the LORD and went as far as Tahpanhes.

8. 다바네스에서 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하여 가라사대
  In Tahpanhes the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

9. 너는 유다 사람의 목전에서 네 손으로 큰 돌들을 가져다가 다바네스 바로의 집 어귀의 벽돌 깔린 곳에 진흙으로 감추고
  "While the Jews are watching, take some large stones with you and bury them in clay in the brick pavement at the entrance to Pharaoh's palace in Tahpanhes.

10. 그들에게 이르기를 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 내 종 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살을 불러오리니 그가 그 보좌를 내가 감추게 한 이 돌 위에 두고 또 그 화려한 큰 장막을 그 위에 치리라
  Then say to them, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones I have buried here; he will spread his royal canopy above them.

11. 그가 와서 애굽 땅을 치고 죽일 자는 죽이고 사로잡을 자는 사로잡고 칼로 칠 자는 칼로 칠 것이라
  He will come and attack Egypt, bringing death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword.

12. 내가 애굽 신들의 집에 불을 놓을 것인즉 느부갓네살이 그들을 불사르며 그들을 사로잡을 것이요 목자가 그 몸에 옷을 두름같이 애굽 땅을 자기 몸에 두르고 평안히 그 곳을 떠날 것이며
  He will set fire to the temples of the gods of Egypt; he will burn their temples and take their gods captive. As a shepherd wraps his garment around him, so will he wrap Egypt around himself and depart from there unscathed.

13. 그가 또 애굽 땅 벧세메스의 주상들을 깨뜨리고 애굽 신들의 집을 불사르리라 하셨다 할찌니라
  There in the temple of the sun in Egypt he will demolish the sacred pillars and will burn down the temples of the gods of Egypt.'"

시편 18

1. 나의 힘이 되신 여호와여 내가 주를 사랑하나이다
  For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, O LORD, my strength.

2. 여호와는 나의 반석이시요 나의 요새시요 나를 건지시는 자시요 나의 하나님이시요 나의 피할 바위시요 나의 방패시요 나의 구원의 뿔이시요 나의 산성이시로다
  The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

3. 내가 찬송받으실 여호와께 아뢰리니 내 원수들에게서 구원을 얻으리로다
  I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

4. 사망의 줄이 나를 얽고 불의의 창수가 나를 두렵게 하였으며
  The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

5. 음부의 줄이 나를 두르고 사망의 올무가 내게 이르렀도다
  The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

6. 내가 환난에서 여호와께 아뢰며 나의 하나님께 부르짖었더니 저가 그 전에서 내 소리를 들으심이여 그 앞에서 나의 부르짖음이 그 귀에 들렸도다
  In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

7. 이에 땅이 진동하고 산의 터도 요동하였으니 그의 진노를 인함이로다
  The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry.

8. 그 코에서 연기가 오르고 입에서 불이 나와 사름이여 그 불에 숯이 피었도다
  Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.

9. 저가 또 하늘을 드리우시고 강림하시니 그 발 아래는 어둑캄캄하도다
  He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.

10. 그룹을 타고 날으심이여 바람 날개로 높이 뜨셨도다
  He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.

11. 저가 흑암으로 그 숨는 곳을 삼으사 장막같이 자기를 두르게 하심이여 곧 물의 흑암과 공중의 빽빽한 구름으로 그리하시도다
  He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him--the dark rain clouds of the sky.

12. 그 앞에 광채로 인하여 빽빽한 구름이 지나며 우박과 숯불이 내리도다
  Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.

13. 여호와께서 하늘에서 뇌성을 발하시고 지존하신 자가 음성을 내시며 우박과 숯불이 내리도다
  The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.

14. 그 살을 날려 저희를 흩으심이여 많은 번개로 파하셨도다
  He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies, great bolts of lightning and routed them.

15. 이럴 때에 여호와의 꾸지람과 콧김을 인하여 물밑이 드러나고 세상의 터가 나타났도다
  The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

16. 저가 위에서 보내사 나를 취하심이여 많은 물에서 나를 건져내셨도다
  He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.

17. 나를 강한 원수와 미워하는 자에게서 건지셨음이여 저희는 나보다 힘센 연고로다
  He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.

18. 저희가 나의 재앙의 날에 내게 이르렀으나 여호와께서 나의 의지가 되셨도다
  They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.

19. 나를 또 넓은 곳으로 인도하시고 나를 기뻐하심으로 구원하셨도다
  He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

20. 여호와께서 내 의를 따라 상주시며 내 손의 깨끗함을 좇아 갚으셨으니
  The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

21. 이는 내가 여호와의 도를 지키고 악하게 내 하나님을 떠나지 아니하였으며
  For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not done evil by turning from my God.

22. 그 모든 규례가 내 앞에 있고 내게서 그 율례를 버리지 아니하였음이로다
  All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.

23. 내가 또한 그 앞에 완전하여 나의 죄악에서 스스로 지켰나니
  I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.

24. 그러므로 여호와께서 내 의를 따라 갚으시되 그 목전에 내 손의 깨끗한 대로 내게 갚으셨도다
  The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

25. 자비한 자에게는 주의 자비하심을 나타내시며 완전한 자에게는 주의 완전하심을 보이시며
  To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

26. 깨끗한 자에게는 주의 깨끗하심을 보이시며 사특한 자에게는 주의 거스리심을 보이시리니
  to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

27. 주께서 곤고한 백성은 구원하시고 교만한 눈은 낮추시리이다
  You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.

28. 주께서 나의 등불을 켜심이여 여호와 내 하나님이 내 흑암을 밝히시리이다
  You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

29. 내가 주를 의뢰하고 적군에 달리며 내 하나님을 의지하고 담을 뛰어넘나이다
  With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.

30. 하나님의 도는 완전하고 여호와의 말씀은 정미하니 저는 자기에게 피하는 모든 자의 방패시로다
  As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

31. 여호와 외에 누가 하나님이며 우리 하나님 외에 누가 반석이뇨
  For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

32. 이 하나님이 힘으로 내게 띠 띠우시며 내 길을 완전케 하시며
  It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

33. 나의 발로 암사슴 발 같게 하시며 나를 나의 높은 곳에 세우시며
  He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights.

34. 내 손을 가르쳐 싸우게 하시니 내 팔이 놋 활을 당기도다
  He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

35. 주께서 또 주의 구원하는 방패를 내게 주시며 주의 오른손이 나를 붙들고 주의 온유함이 나를 크게 하셨나이다
  You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.

36. 내 걸음을 넓게 하셨고 나로 실족지 않게 하셨나이다
  You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.

37. 내가 내 원수를 따라 미치리니 저희가 망하기 전에는 돌이키지 아니하리이다
  I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

38. 내가 저희를 쳐서 능히 일어나지 못하게 하리니 저희가 내 발 아래 엎드러지리이다
  I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet.

39. 대저 주께서 나로 전쟁케 하려고 능력으로 내게 띠 띠우사 일어나 나를 치는 자로 내게 굴복케 하셨나이다
  You armed me with strength for battle; you made my adversaries bow at my feet.

40. 주께서 또 내 원수들로 등을 내게로 향하게 하시고 나로 나를 미워하는 자를 끊어버리게 하셨나이다
  You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.

41. 저희가 부르짖으나 구원할 자가 없었고 여호와께 부르짖어도 대답지 아니하셨나이다
  They cried for help, but there was no one to save them--to the LORD, but he did not answer.

42. 내가 저희를 바람 앞에 티끌같이 부숴뜨리고 거리의 진흙같이 쏟아 버렸나이다
  I beat them as fine as dust borne on the wind; I poured them out like mud in the streets.

43. 주께서 나를 백성의 다툼에서 건지시고 열방의 으뜸을 삼으셨으니 내가 알지 못하는 백성이 나를 섬기리이다
  You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations; people I did not know are subject to me.

44. 저희가 내 풍성을 들은 즉시로 내게 순복함이여 이방인들이 내게 복종하리로다
  As soon as they hear me, they obey me; foreigners cringe before me.

45. 이방인들이 쇠미하여 그 견고한 곳에서 떨며 나오리로다
  They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.

46. 여호와는 생존하시니 나의 반석을 찬송하며 내 구원의 하나님을 높일찌로다
  The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

47. 이 하나님이 나를 위하여 보수하시고 민족들로 내게 복종케 하시도다
  He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me,

48. 주께서 나를 내 원수들에게서 구조하시니 주께서 실로 나를 대적하는 자의 위에 나를 드시고 나를 강포한 자에게서 건지시나이다
  who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me.

49. 여호와여 이러므로 내가 열방 중에서 주께 감사하며 주의 이름을 찬송하리이다
  Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to your name.

50. 여호와께서 그 왕에게 큰 구원을 주시며 기름 부음받은 자에게 인자를 베푸심이여 영영토록 다윗과 그 후손에게로다
  He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.
