두가지 생명, 육신적인 생명과 참 생명

생명 또는 목숨에 대한 시각과 철학에 따라 사람은 천차만별의 인생을 산다. 동일한 조건, 동일한 환경에서도 누군가는 절망에 빠져 근근히 고통스러운 인생을 살아가고, 누군가는 주위 사람들이야 어떻게 보든 자신에 주어진 삶을 기쁨과 감사 속에서 살아간다. 한국어나 영어나 생명 또는 life로 단순한 표현 밖에 없지만 성경에서는 문맥에 따라 서로 다른 단어를 사용한다. 헬라어로 프쉬케(ψυχή), 비오스(βίος), 조에(ζωή)이다. 결론부터 말하면 우리는 일상에 치이는 생물학적 목숨을 부지하는 것이 아니라 예수 그리스도를 통해서 하나님께서 주시는 생명력이 삶 속에 가득한 조에(ζωή)의 인생을 살아갈때 풍성한 기쁨과 감사의 삶, 참 삶을 살아갈 수 있다.

■ 프쉬케(ψυχή)

우리말로는 목숨, 영혼, 마음, 사람으로 영어로는 life, soul로 번역하고 있으며 아리스토텔레스는 "신진대사와 사고활동 전반의 생명작용"으로 설명하고 있다.

마 2:20 일어나 아기와 그 모친을 데리고 이스라엘 땅으로 가라 아기의 목숨을 찾던 자들이 죽었느니라 하시니
마 2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel : for they are dead which sought the young child’s life.
마 6:25 그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 목숨을 위하여 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 몸을 위하여 무엇을 입을까 염려하지 말라 목숨이 음식보다 중하지 아니하며 몸이 의복보다 중하지 아니하냐

행 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

 

■  비오스(βίος)

우리말로는 생활비, 살림, 이생, 생활, 재물로 영어로는 life, living, good으로 번역하고 있으며 일상 생활을 의미한다. 교회를 일상처럼 다니는 것이 신앙 생활의 전부라고 생각한다면 예수님과의 첫 만남을 기억해야만 한다. 

막 12:44 저희는 다 그 풍족한 중에서 넣었거니와 이 과부는 그 구차한 중에서 자기 모든 소유 곧 생활비 전부를 넣었느니라 하셨더라
막 12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance ; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
눅 8:14 가시떨기에 떨어졌다는 것은 말씀을 들은 자니 지내는 중 이생의 염려와 재리와 일락에 기운이 막혀 온전히 결실치 못하는 자요
눅 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

■  조에(ζωή)

예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님께서 우리의 삶에 부어 주시는 생명력, 참 삶, 참 생명을 의미한다. 

마 7:14 생명으로 인도하는 문은 좁고 길이 협착하여 찾는 이가 적음이니라
마 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
마 18:8 만일 네 손이나 네 발이 너를 범죄케 하거든 찍어 내버리라 불구자나 절뚝발이로 영생에 들어가는 것이 두 손과 두 발을 가지고 영원한 불에 던지우는 것보다 나으니라
마 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee : it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
마 19:16 어떤 사람이 주께 와서 가로되 선생님이여 내가 무슨 선한 일을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까
마 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life ?

약 1:12 시험을 참는 자는 복이 있도다 이것이 옳다 인정하심을 받은 후에 주께서 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 생명의 면류관을 얻을 것임이니라
약 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation : for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
약 4:14 내일 일을 너희가 알지 못하는도다 너희 생명이 무엇이뇨 너희는 잠간 보이다가 없어지는 안개니라
약 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life ? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
벧전 3:7 남편된 자들아 이와 같이 지식을 따라 너희 아내와 동거하고 저는 더 연약한 그릇이요 또 생명의 은혜를 유업으로 함께 받을 자로 알아 귀히 여기라 이는 너희 기도가 막히지 아니하게 하려 함이라
벧전 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life ; that your prayers be not hindered.
벧전 3:10 그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 궤휼을 말하지 말고
벧전 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile :
벧후 1:3 그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 자를 앎으로 말미암음이라
벧후 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue :
요일 1:1 태초부터 있는 생명의 말씀에 관하여는 우리가 들은 바요 눈으로 본 바요 주목하고 우리 손으로 만진 바라
요일 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life ;
요일 2:25 그가 우리에게 약속하신 약속이 이것이니 곧 영원한 생명이니라
요일 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
요일 3:14 우리가 형제를 사랑함으로 사망에서 옮겨 생명으로 들어간 줄을 알거니와 사랑치 아니하는 자는 사망에 거하느니라
요일 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
요일 3:15 그 형제를 미워하는 자마다 살인하는 자니 살인하는 자마다 영생이 그 속에 거하지 아니하는 것을 너희가 아는 바라
요일 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer : and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
요일 5:11 또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라
요일 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
요일 5:12 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라
요일 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life ; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
요일 5:13 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라
요일 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God ; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
유 1:21 하나님의 사랑 안에서 자기를 지키며 영생에 이르도록 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 긍휼을 기다리라
유 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
계 2:7 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다 이기는 그에게는 내가 하나님의 낙원에 있는 생명나무의 과실을 주어 먹게 하리라
계 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches ; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
계 3:5 이기는 자는 이와 같이 흰 옷을 입을 것이요 내가 그 이름을 생명책에서 반드시 흐리지 아니하고 그 이름을 내 아버지 앞과 그 천사들 앞에서 시인하리라
계 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment ; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
계 7:17 이는 보좌 가운데 계신 어린 양이 저희의 목자가 되사 생명수 샘으로 인도하시고 하나님께서 저희 눈에서 모든 눈물을 씻어 주실 것임이러라
계 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters : and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
계 20:15 누구든지 생명책에 기록되지 못한 자는 불못에 던지우더라
계 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
계 21:6 또 내게 말씀하시되 이루었도다 나는 알파와 오메가요 처음과 나중이라 내가 생명수 샘물로 목마른 자에게 값없이 주리니
계 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
계 22:17 성령과 신부가 말씀하시기를 오라 하시는도다 듣는 자도 오라 할 것이요 목마른 자도 올 것이요 또 원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를 받으라 하시더라
계 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
계 22:19 만일 누구든지 이 책의 예언의 말씀에서 제하여 버리면 하나님이 이 책에 기록된 생명나무와 및 거룩한 성에 참예함을 제하여 버리시리라
계 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
