성경이 말하는 사람의 욕심

욕심의 결국은 육신과 영혼의 파멸이며 

의지를 내어서 욕심에서 떠나려는 결단이 필요하며 더 나아가 욕심을 죽이고 항상 경계해야 하는 삶의 태도가 필요하다는 말씀입니다. 내가 지금 간절하게 원하고(desire) 있는 것이 무엇인가가 곧 내가 성령의 사람인지 육신에 속한 사람인지를 알수 있는 지표가 될 수 있습니다.

로마서 1:26~27 

이를 인하여 하나님께서 저희를 부끄러운 욕심에 내어 버려 두셨으니 곧 저희 여인들도 순리대로 쓸 것을 바꾸어 역리로 쓰며 이와 같이 남자들도 순리대로 여인 쓰기를 버리고 서로 향하여 음욕이 불일듯 하매 남자가 남자로 더불어 부끄러운 일을 행하여 저희의 그릇됨에 상당한 보응을 그 자신에 받았느니라

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

  

마가복음 4:18~19

또 어떤 이는 가시떨기에 뿌리우는 자니 이들은 말씀을 듣되 세상의 염려와 재리의 유혹과 기타 욕심이 들어와 말씀을 막아 결실치 못하게 되는 자요

Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.

요한복음 8:44 

너희는 너희 아비 마귀에게서 났으니 너희 아비의 욕심을 너희도 행하고자 하느니라 저는 처음부터 살인한 자요 진리가 그 속에 없으므로 진리에 서지 못하고 거짓을 말할 때마다 제 것으로 말하나니 이는 저가 거짓말장이요 거짓의 아비가 되었음이니라

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

갈라디아서 5:16 

내가 이르노니 너희는 성령을 좇아 행하라 그리하면 육체의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

에베소서 2:3~5

전에는 우리도 다 그 가운데서 우리 육체의 욕심을 따라 지내며 육체와 마음의 원하는 것을 하여 다른 이들과 같이 본질상 진노의 자녀이었더니 긍휼에 풍성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 얻은 것이라)

All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.

에베소서 4:17~19

그러므로 내가 이것을 말하며 주 안에서 증거하노니 이제부터는 이방인이 그 마음의 허망한 것으로 행함같이 너희는 행하지 말라 저희 총명이 어두워지고 저희 가운데 있는 무지함과 저희 마음이 굳어짐으로 말미암아 하나님의 생명에서 떠나 있도다 저희가 감각 없는 자 되어 자신을 방탕에 방임하여 모든 더러운 것을 욕심으로 행하되

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

디모데후서 3:5~7

경건의 모양은 있으나 경건의 능력은 부인하는 자니 이같은 자들에게서 네가 돌아서라 저희 중에 남의 집에 가만히 들어가 어리석은 여자를 유인하는 자들이 있으니 그 여자는 죄를 중히 지고 여러 가지 욕심에 끌린 바 되어 항상 배우나 마침내 진리의 지식에 이를 수 없느니라

having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

민수기 15:38~40

이스라엘 자손에게 명하여 그들의 대대로 그 옷단 귀에 술을 만들고 청색 끈을 그 귀의 술에 더하라 이 술은 너희로 보고 여호와의 모든 계명을 기억하여 준행하고 너희로 방종케 하는 자기의 마음과 눈의 욕심을 좇지 않게 하기 위함이라 그리하면 너희가 나의 모든 계명을 기억하고 준행하여 너희의 하나님 앞에 거룩하리라

"Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel. You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by going after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes. Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God.

야고보서 1:13~15

사람이 시험을 받을 때에 내가 하나님께 시험을 받는다 하지 말찌니 하나님은 악에게 시험을 받지도 아니하시고 친히 아무도 시험하지 아니하시느니라 오직 각 사람이 시험을 받는 것은 자기 욕심에 끌려 미혹됨이니 욕심이 잉태한즉 죄를 낳고 죄가 장성한즉 사망을 낳느니라

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

야고보서 4:2~3

너희가 욕심을 내어도 얻지 못하고 살인하며 시기하여도 능히 취하지 못하나니 너희가 다투고 싸우는도다 너희가 얻지 못함은 구하지 아니함이요 구하여도 받지 못함은 정욕으로 쓰려고 잘못 구함이니라

You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

시편 106:14~15

광야에서 욕심을 크게 발하며 사막에서 하나님을 시험하였도다 여호와께서 저희의 요구한 것을 주셨을찌라도 그 영혼을 파리하게 하셨도다

In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wasteland they put God to the test. So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease upon them.
