룻기 3-4

1. 룻의 시모 나오미가 그에게 이르되 내 딸아 내가 너를 위하여 안식할 곳을 구하여 너로 복되게 하여야 하지 않겠느냐
  One day Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, should I not try to find a home for you, where you will be well provided for?

2. 네가 함께 하던 시녀들을 둔 보아스는 우리의 친족이 아니냐 그가 오늘 밤에 타작 마당에서 보리를 까불리라
  Is not Boaz, with whose servant girls you have been, a kinsman of ours? Tonight he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor.

3. 그런즉 너는 목욕하고 기름을 바르고 의복을 입고 타작 마당에 내려가서 그 사람이 먹고 마시기를 다하기까지는 그에게 보이지 말고
  Wash and perfume yourself, and put on your best clothes. Then go down to the threshing floor, but don't let him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.

4. 그가 누울 때에 너는 그 눕는 곳을 알았다가 들어가서 그 발치 이불을 들고 거기 누우라 그가 너의 할 일을 네게 고하리라
  When he lies down, note the place where he is lying. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down. He will tell you what to do."

5. 룻이 시모에게 이르되 어머니의 말씀대로 내가 다 행하리이다 하니라
  "I will do whatever you say," Ruth answered.

6. 그가 타작 마당으로 내려가서 시모의 명대로 다 하니라
  So she went down to the threshing floor and did everything her mother-in-law told her to do.

7. 보아스가 먹고 마시고 마음이 즐거워서 가서 노적가리 곁에 눕는지라 룻이 가만히 가서 그 발치 이불을 들고 거기 누웠더라
  When Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he went over to lie down at the far end of the grain pile. Ruth approached quietly, uncovered his feet and lay down.

8. 밤중에 그 사람이 놀라 몸을 돌이켜 본즉 한 여인이 자기 발치에 누웠는지라
  In the middle of the night something startled the man, and he turned and discovered a woman lying at his feet.

9. 가로되 네가 누구뇨 대답하되 나는 당신의 시녀 룻이오니 당신의 옷자락으로 시녀를 덮으소서 당신은 우리 기업을 무를 자가 됨이니이다
  "Who are you?" he asked. "I am your servant Ruth," she said. "Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a kinsman-redeemer."

10. 가로되 내 딸아 여호와께서 네게 복 주시기를 원하노라 네가 빈부를 물론하고 연소한 자를 좇지 아니하였으니 너의 베푼 인애가 처음보다 나중이 더하도다
  "The LORD bless you, my daughter," he replied. "This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor.

11. 내 딸아 두려워 말라 내가 네 말대로 네게 다 행하리라 네가 현숙한 여자인 줄 나의 성읍 백성이 다 아느니라
  And now, my daughter, don't be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character.

12. 참으로 나는 네 기업을 무를 자나 무를 자가 나보다 더 가까운 친족이 있으니
  Although it is true that I am near of kin, there is a kinsman-redeemer nearer than I.

13. 이 밤에 여기서 머무르라 아침에 그가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 이행하려 하면 좋으니 그가 그 기업 무를 자의 책임을 행할 것이니라 만일 그가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 이행코자 아니하면 여호와의 사심으로 맹세하노니 내가 기업 무를 자의 책임을 네게 행하리라 아침까지 누울찌니라
  Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to redeem, good; let him redeem. But if he is not willing, as surely as the LORD lives I will do it. Lie here until morning."

14. 룻이 새벽까지 그 발치에 누웠다가 사람이 피차 알아보기 어려울 때에 일어났으니 보아스의 말에 여인이 타작 마당에 들어온 것을 사람이 알지 못하여야 할 것이라 하였음이라
  So she lay at his feet until morning, but got up before anyone could be recognized; and he said, "Don't let it be known that a woman came to the threshing floor."

15. 보아스가 가로되 네 겉옷을 가져다가 펴서 잡으라 펴서 잡으니 보리를 여섯 번 되어 룻에게 이워주고 성으로 들어가니라
  He also said, "Bring me the shawl you are wearing and hold it out." When she did so, he poured into it six measures of barley and put it on her. Then he went back to town.

16. 룻이 시모에게 이르니 그가 가로되 내 딸아 어떻게 되었느냐 룻이 그 사람의 자기에게 행한 것을 다 고하고
  When Ruth came to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, "How did it go, my daughter?" Then she told her everything Boaz had done for her

17. 가로되 그가 내게 이 보리를 여섯 번 되어 주며 이르기를 빈손으로 네 시모에게 가지 말라 하더이다
  and added, "He gave me these six measures of barley, saying, 'Don't go back to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"

18. 이에 시모가 가로되 내 딸아 이 사건이 어떻게 되는 것을 알기까지 가만히 앉아 있으라 그 사람이 오늘날 이 일을 성취하기 전에는 쉬지 아니하리라
  Then Naomi said, "Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today."

1. 보아스가 성문에 올라가서 거기 앉았더니 마침 보아스의 말하던 기업 무를 자가 지나는지라 보아스가 그에게 이르되 아무여 이리로 와서 앉으라 그가 와서 앉으매
  Meanwhile Boaz went up to the town gate and sat there. When the kinsman-redeemer he had mentioned came along, Boaz said, "Come over here, my friend, and sit down." So he went over and sat down.

2. 보아스가 성읍 장로 십 인을 청하여 가로되 당신들은 여기 앉으라 그들이 앉으매
  Boaz took ten of the elders of the town and said, "Sit here," and they did so.

3. 보아스가 그 기업 무를 자에게 이르되 모압 지방에서 돌아온 나오미가 우리 형제 엘리멜렉의 소유지를 관할하므로
  Then he said to the kinsman-redeemer, "Naomi, who has come back from Moab, is selling the piece of land that belonged to our brother Elimelech.

4. 내가 여기 앉은 자들과 내 백성의 장로들 앞에서 그것을 사라고 네게 고하여 알게 하려 하였노라 네가 무르려면 무르려니와 네가 무르지 아니하려거든 내게 고하여 알게 하라 네 다음은 나요 그 외에는 무를 자가 없느니라 그가 가로되 내가 무르리라
  I thought I should bring the matter to your attention and suggest that you buy it in the presence of these seated here and in the presence of the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, do so. But if you will not, tell me, so I will know. For no one has the right to do it except you, and I am next in line." "I will redeem it," he said.

5. 보아스가 가로되 네가 나오미의 손에서 그 밭을 사는 날에 곧 죽은 자의 아내 모압 여인 룻에게서 사서 그 죽은 자의 기업을 그 이름으로 잇게 하여야 할찌니라
  Then Boaz said, "On the day you buy the land from Naomi and from Ruth the Moabitess, you acquire the dead man's widow, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property."

6. 그 기업 무를 자가 가로되 나는 내 기업에 손해가 있을까 하여 나를 위하여 무르지 못하노니 나의 무를 권리를 네가 취하라 나는 무르지 못하겠노라
  At this, the kinsman-redeemer said, "Then I cannot redeem it because I might endanger my own estate. You redeem it yourself. I cannot do it."

7. 옛적 이스라엘 중에 모든 것을 무르거나 교환하는 일을 확정하기 위하여 사람이 그 신을 벗어 그 이웃에게 주더니 이것이 이스라엘의 증명하는 전례가 된지라
  (Now in earlier times in Israel, for the redemption and transfer of property to become final, one party took off his sandal and gave it to the other. This was the method of legalizing transactions in Israel.)

8. 이에 그 기업 무를 자가 보아스에게 이르되 네가 너를 위하여 사라 하고 그 신을 벗는지라
  So the kinsman-redeemer said to Boaz, "Buy it yourself." And he removed his sandal.

9. 보아스가 장로들과 모든 백성에게 이르되 내가 엘리멜렉과 기룐과 말론에게 있던 모든 것을 나오미의 손에서 산 일에 너희가 오늘날 증인이 되었고
  Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, "Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelech, Kilion and Mahlon.

10. 또 말론의 아내 모압 여인 룻을 사서 나의 아내로 취하고 그 죽은 자의 기업을 그 이름으로 잇게 하여 그 이름이 그 형제 중과 그 곳 성문에서 끊어지지 않게 함에 너희가 오늘날 증인이 되었느니라
  I have also acquired Ruth the Moabitess, Mahlon's widow, as my wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear from among his family or from the town records. Today you are witnesses!"

11. 성문에 있는 모든 백성과 장로들이 가로되 우리가 증인이 되노니 여호와께서 네 집에 들어가는 여인으로 이스라엘 집을 세운 라헬, 레아 두 사람과 같게 하시고 너로 에브랏에서 유력하고 베들레헴에서 유명케 하시기를 원하며
  Then the elders and all those at the gate said, "We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

12. 여호와께서 이 소년 여자로 네게 후사를 주사 네 집으로 다말이 유다에게 낳아준 베레스의 집과 같게 하시기를 원하노라
  Through the offspring the LORD gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah."

13. 이에 보아스가 룻을 취하여 아내를 삼고 그와 동침하였더니 여호와께서 그로 잉태케 하시므로 그가 아들을 낳은지라
  So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. Then he went to her, and the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.

14. 여인들이 나오미에게 이르되 찬송할찌로다 여호와께서 오늘날 네게 기업 무를 자가 없게 아니하셨도다 이 아이의 이름이 이스라엘 중에 유명하게 되기를 원하노라
  The women said to Naomi: "Praise be to the LORD, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel!

15. 이는 네 생명의 회복자며 네 노년의 봉양자라 곧 너를 사랑하며 일곱 아들보다 귀한 자부가 낳은 자로다
  He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth."

16. 나오미가 아기를 취하여 품에 품고 그의 양육자가 되니
  Then Naomi took the child, laid him in her lap and cared for him.

17. 그 이웃 여인들이 그에게 이름을 주되 나오미가 아들을 낳았다 하여 그 이름을 오벳이라 하였는데 그는 다윗의 아비인 이새의 아비였더라
  The women living there said, "Naomi has a son." And they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

18. 베레스의 세계는 이러하니라 베레스는 헤스론을 낳았고
  This, then, is the family line of Perez: Perez was the father of Hezron,

19. 헤스론은 람을 낳았고 람은 암미나답을 낳았고
  Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of Amminadab,

20. 암미나답은 나손을 낳았고 나손은 살몬을 낳았고
  Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,

21. 살몬은 보아스를 낳았고 보아스는 오벳을 낳았고
  Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of Obed,

22. 오벳은 이새를 낳았고 이새는 다윗을 낳았더라
  Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of David.

사도행전 28

1. 우리가 구원을 얻은 후에 안즉 그 섬은 멜리데라 하더라
  Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta.

2. 토인들이 우리에게 특별한 동정을 하여 비가 오고 날이 차매 불을 피워 우리를 다 영접하더라
  The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold.

3. 바울이 한 뭇 나무를 거두어 불에 넣으니 뜨거움을 인하여 독사가 나와 그 손을 물고 있는지라
  Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand.

4. 토인들이 이 짐승이 그 손에 달림을 보고 서로 말하되 진실로 이 사람은 살인한 자로다 바다에서는 구원을 얻었으나 공의가 살지 못하게 하심이로다 하더니
  When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live."

5. 바울이 그 짐승을 불에 떨어 버리매 조금도 상함이 없더라
  But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

6. 그가 붓든지 혹 갑자기 엎드러져 죽을 줄로 저희가 기다렸더니 오래 기다려도 그에게 아무 이상이 없음을 보고 돌려 생각하여 말하되 신이라 하더라
  The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

7. 이 섬에 제일 높은 사람 보블리오라 하는 이가 그 근처에 토지가 있는지라 그가 우리를 영접하여 사흘이나 친절히 유숙하게 하더니
  There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and for three days entertained us hospitably.

8. 보블리오의 부친이 열병과 이질에 걸려 누웠거늘 바울이 들어가서 기도하고 그에게 안수하여 낫게 하매
  His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.

9. 이러므로 섬 가운데 다른 병든 사람들이 와서 고침을 받고
  When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured.

10. 후한 예로 우리를 대접하고 떠날 때에 우리 쓸 것을 배에 올리더라
  They honored us in many ways and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies we needed.

11. 석 달 후에 그 섬에서 과동한 알렉산드리아 배를 우리가 타고 떠나니 그 배 기호는 디오스구로라
  After three months we put out to sea in a ship that had wintered in the island. It was an Alexandrian ship with the figurehead of the twin gods Castor and Pollux.

12. 수라구사에 대고 사흘을 있다가
  We put in at Syracuse and stayed there three days.

13. 거기서 둘러가서 레기온에 이르러 하루를 지난 후 남풍이 일어나므로 이튿날 보디올에 이르러
  From there we set sail and arrived at Rhegium. The next day the south wind came up, and on the following day we reached Puteoli.

14. 거기서 형제를 만나 저희의 청함을 받아 이레를 함께 유하다가 로마로 가니라
  There we found some brothers who invited us to spend a week with them. And so we came to Rome.

15. 거기 형제들이 우리 소식을 듣고 압비오 저자와 삼관까지 맞으러 오니 바울이 저희를 보고 하나님께 사례하고 담대한 마음을 얻으니라
  The brothers there had heard that we were coming, and they traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. At the sight of these men Paul thanked God and was encouraged.

16. 우리가 로마에 들어가니 바울은 자기를 지키는 한 군사와 함께 따로 있게 허락하더라
  When we got to Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with a soldier to guard him.

17. 사흘 후에 바울이 유대인 중 높은 사람들을 청하여 모인 후에 이르되 여러분 형제들아 내가 이스라엘 백성이나 우리 조상의 규모를 배척한 일이 없는데 예루살렘에서 로마인의 손에 죄수로 내어 준 바 되었으니
  Three days later he called together the leaders of the Jews. When they had assembled, Paul said to them: "My brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or against the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.

18. 로마인은 나를 심문하여 죽일 죄목이 없으므로 놓으려 하였으나
  They examined me and wanted to release me, because I was not guilty of any crime deserving death.

19. 유대인들이 반대하기로 내가 마지 못하여 가이사에게 호소함이요 내 민족을 송사하려는 것이 아니로라
  But when the Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar--not that I had any charge to bring against my own people.

20. 이러하므로 너희를 보고 함께 이야기하려고 청하였노니 이스라엘의 소망을 인하여 내가 이 쇠사슬에 매인 바 되었노라
  For this reason I have asked to see you and talk with you. It is because of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain."

21. 저희가 가로되 우리가 유대에서 네게 대한 편지도 받은 일이 없고 또 형제 중 누가 와서 네게 대하여 좋지 못한 것을 고하든지 이야기한 일도 없느니라
  They replied, "We have not received any letters from Judea concerning you, and none of the brothers who have come from there has reported or said anything bad about you.

22. 이에 우리가 너의 사상이 어떠한가 듣고자 하노니 이 파에 대하여는 어디서든지 반대를 받는 줄 우리가 앎이라 하더라
  But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."

23. 저희가 일자를 정하고 그의 우거하는 집에 많이 오니 바울이 아침부터 저녁까지 강론하여 하나님 나라를 증거하고 모세의 율법과 선지자의 말을 가지고 예수의 일로 권하더라
  They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the kingdom of God and tried to convince them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.

24. 그 말을 믿는 사람도 있고 믿지 아니하는 사람도 있어
  Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.

25. 서로 맞지 아니하여 흩어질 때에 바울이 한 말로 일러 가로되 성령이 선지자 이사야로 너희 조상들에게 말씀하신 것이 옳도다
  They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your forefathers when he said through Isaiah the prophet:

26. 일렀으되 이 백성에게 가서 말하기를 너희가 듣기는 들어도 도무지 깨닫지 못하며 보기는 보아도 도무지 알지 못하는도다
  "'Go to this people and say, "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving."

27. 이 백성들의 마음이 완악하여져서 그 귀로는 둔하게 듣고 그 눈을 감았으니 이는 눈으로 보고 귀로 듣고 마음으로 깨달아 돌아와 나의 고침을 받을까 함이라 하였으니
  For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

28. 그런즉 하나님의 이 구원을 이방인에게로 보내신 줄 알라 저희는 또한 들으리라 하더라
  "Therefore I want you to know that God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!"

30. 바울이 온 이태를 자기 셋집에 유하며 자기에게 오는 사람을 다 영접하고
  For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.

31. 담대히 하나님 나라를 전파하며 주 예수 그리스도께 관한 것을 가르치되 금하는 사람이 없었더라
  Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

예레미야 39

1. 유다 왕 시드기야의 구년 시월에 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살과 그 모든 군대가 와서 예루살렘을 에워싸고 치더니
  This is how Jerusalem was taken: In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it.

2. 시드기야의 제 십일 년 사월 구일에 성이 함락되니라 예루살렘이 함락되매
  And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah's eleventh year, the city wall was broken through.

3. 바벨론 왕의 모든 방백이 이르러 중문에 앉으니 곧 네르갈사레셀과 삼갈르보와 환관장 살스김과 박사장 네르갈사레셀과 바벨론 왕의 기타 모든 방백들이었더라
  Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came and took seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officials of the king of Babylon.

4. 유다 왕 시드기야와 모든 군사가 그들을 보고 도망하되 밤에 왕의 동산길로 좇아 두 담 샛문을 통하여 성읍을 벗어나서 아라바로 갔더니
  When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled; they left the city at night by way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls, and headed toward the Arabah.

5. 갈대아인의 군대가 그들을 따라 여리고 평원에서 시드기야에게 미쳐 그를 잡아서 데리고 하맛 땅 립나에 있는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게로 올라가매 왕이 그를 심문하였더라
  But the Babylonian army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They captured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced sentence on him.

6. 바벨론 왕이 립나에서 시드기야의 목전에서 그 아들들을 죽였고 왕이 또 유다의 모든 귀인을 죽였으며
  There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles of Judah.

7. 왕이 또 시드기야의 눈을 빼게 하고 바벨론으로 옮기려 하여 사슬로 결박하였더라
  Then he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.

8. 갈대아인들이 왕궁과 백성의 집을 불사르며 예루살렘 성벽을 헐었고
  The Babylonians set fire to the royal palace and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

9. 시위대장 느부사라단이 성중에 남아 있는 백성과 자기에게 항복한 자와 그 외의 남은 백성을 바벨론으로 잡아 옮겼으며
  Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard carried into exile to Babylon the people who remained in the city, along with those who had gone over to him, and the rest of the people.

10. 시위대장 느부사라단이 아무 소유가 없는 빈민을 유다 땅에 남겨 두고 그 날에 포도원과 밭을 그들에게 주었더라
  But Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people, who owned nothing; and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.

11. 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 예레미야에 대하여 시위대장 느부사라단에게 명하여 가로되
  Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard:

12. 그를 데려다가 선대하고 해하지 말며 그가 네게 말하는 대로 행하라
  "Take him and look after him; don't harm him but do for him whatever he asks."

13. 이에 시위대장 느부사라단과 환관장 느부사스반과 박사장 네르갈사레셀과 바벨론 왕의 모든 장관이
  So Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard, Nebushazban a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officers of the king of Babylon

14. 보내어 예레미야를 시위대 뜰에서 취하여 내어 사반의 손자 아히감의 아들 그다랴에게 붙여서 그를 집으로 데려가게 하매 그가 백성 중에 거하니라
  sent and had Jeremiah taken out of the courtyard of the guard. They turned him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him back to his home. So he remained among his own people.

15. 예레미야가 시위대 뜰에 갇혔을 때에 여호와의 말씀이 그에게 임하니라 가라사대
  While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him:

16. 너는 가서 구스인 에벳멜렉에게 말하기를 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님의 말씀에 내가 이 성에 재앙을 내리고 복을 내리지 아니하리라 한 나의 말이 그 날에 네 목전에 이루리라
  "Go and tell Ebed-Melech the Cushite, 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city through disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes.

17. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 그 날에 너를 구원하리니 네가 그 두려워하는 사람들의 손에 붙이우지 아니하리라
  But I will rescue you on that day, declares the LORD; you will not be handed over to those you fear.

18. 내가 단정코 너를 구원할 것인즉 네가 칼에 죽지 아니하고 네 생명이 노략물을 얻음같이 되리니 이는 네가 나를 신뢰함이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the LORD.'"

시편 11-12

1. 내가 여호와께 피하였거늘 너희가 내 영혼더러 새같이 네 산으로 도망하라 함은 어찜인고

2. 악인이 활을 당기고 살을 시위에 먹임이여 마음이 바른 자를 어두운 데서 쏘려 하는도다

3. 터가 무너지면 의인이 무엇을 할꼬
  When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

4. 여호와께서 그 성전에 계시니 여호와의 보좌는 하늘에 있음이여 그 눈이 인생을 통촉하시고 그 안목이 저희를 감찰하시도다
  The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them.

5. 여호와는 의인을 감찰하시고 악인과 강포함을 좋아하는 자를 마음에 미워하시도다
  The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.

6. 악인에게 그물을 내려치시리니 불과 유황과 태우는 바람이 저희 잔의 소득이 되리로다
  On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot.

7. 여호와는 의로우사 의로운 일을 좋아하시나니 정직한 자는 그 얼굴을 뵈오리로다
  For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.

1. 여호와여 도우소서 경건한 자가 끊어지며 충실한 자가 인생 중에 없어지도소이다

2. 저희가 이웃에게 각기 거짓을 말함이여 아첨하는 입술과 두 마음으로 말하는도다

3. 여호와께서 모든 아첨하는 입술과 자랑하는 혀를 끊으시리니
  May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful tongue

4. 저희가 말하기를 우리의 혀로 이길찌라 우리 입술은 우리 것이니 우리를 주관할 자 누구리요 함이로다
  that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our lips--who is our master?"

5. 여호와의 말씀에 가련한 자의 눌림과 궁핍한 자의 탄식을 인하여 내가 이제 일어나 저를 그 원하는 안전 지대에 두리라 하시도다
  "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the LORD. "I will protect them from those who malign them."

6. 여호와의 말씀은 순결함이여 흙 도가니에 일곱 번 단련한 은 같도다
  And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.

7. 여호와여 저희를 지키사 이 세대로부터 영영토록 보존하시리이다
  O LORD, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever.

8. 비루함이 인생 중에 높아지는 때에 악인이 처처에 횡행하는도다
  The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.
