■ 사도행전 10장
1. 가이사랴에 고넬료라 하는 사람이 있으니 이달리야대라 하는 군대의 백부장이라
There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius , a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2. 그가 경건하여 온 집으로 더불어 하나님을 경외하며 백성을 많이 구제하고 하나님께 항상 기도하더니
A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house , which gave much alms to the people , and prayed to God alway .
3. 하루는 제 구 시쯤 되어 환상 중에 밝히 보매 하나님의 사자가 들어와 가로되 고넬료야 하니
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him , and saying unto him , Cornelius .
4. 고넬료가 주목하여 보고 두려워 가로되 주여 무슨 일이니이까 천사가 가로되 네 기도와 구제가 하나님 앞에 상달하여 기억하신 바가 되었으니
And when he looked on him , he was afraid , and said , What is it , Lord ? And he said unto him , Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God .
5. 네가 지금 사람들을 욥바에 보내어 베드로라 하는 시몬을 청하라
And now send men to Joppa , and call for one Simon , whose surname is Peter :
6. 저는 피장 시몬의 집에 우거하니 그 집은 해변에 있느니라 하더라
He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner , whose house is by the sea side : he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do .
7. 마침 말하던 천사가 떠나매 고넬료가 집안 하인 둘과 종졸 가운데 경건한 사람 하나를 불러
And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed , he called two of his household servants , and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually ;

And when he had declared all these things unto them , he sent them to Joppa .
9. 이튿날 저희가 행하여 성에 가까이 갔을 그 때에 베드로가 기도하려고 지붕에 올라가니 시간은 제 육 시더라
On the morrow , as they went on their journey , and drew nigh unto the city , Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour :
10. 시장하여 먹고자 하매 사람이 준비할 때에 비몽사몽간에
And he became very hungry , and would have eaten : but while they made ready , he fell into a trance ,
11. 하늘이 열리며 한 그릇이 내려 오는 것을 보니 큰 보자기 같고 네 귀를 매어 땅에 드리웠더라
And saw heaven opened , and a certain vessel descending unto him , as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners , and let down to the earth :
12. 그 안에는 땅에 있는 각색 네 발 가진 짐승과 기는 것과 공중에 나는 것들이 있는데
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth , and wild beasts , and creeping things , and fowls of the air .
13. 또 소리가 있으되 베드로야 일어나 잡아 먹으라 하거늘
And there came a voice to him , Rise , Peter ; kill , and eat .
14. 베드로가 가로되 주여 그럴 수 없나이다 속되고 깨끗지 아니한 물건을 내가 언제든지 먹지 아니하였삽나이다 한대
But Peter said , Not so , Lord ; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean .
15. 또 두번째 소리 있으되 하나님께서 깨끗케 하신 것을 네가 속되다 하지 말라 하더라
And the voice spake unto him again the second time , What God hath cleansed , that call not thou common .
16. 이런 일이 세 번 있은 후 그 그릇이 곧 하늘로 올리워 가니라
This was done thrice : and the vessel was received up again into heaven .
17. 베드로가 본 바 환상이 무슨 뜻인지 속으로 의심하더니 마침 고넬료의 보낸 사람들이 시몬의 집을 찾아 문 밖에 서서
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean , behold , the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house , and stood before the gate ,
18. 불러 묻되 베드로라 하는 시몬이 여기 우거하느냐 하거늘
And called , and asked whether Simon , which was surnamed Peter , were lodged there .
19. 베드로가 그 환상에 대하여 생각할 때에 성령께서 저더러 말씀하시되 두 사람이 너를 찾으니
While Peter thought on the vision , the Spirit said unto him , Behold , three men seek thee .
20. 일어나 내려가 의심치 말고 함께 가라 내가 저희를 보내었느니라 하시니
Arise therefore , and get thee down , and go with them , doubting nothing : for I have sent them .
21. 베드로가 내려가 그 사람들을 보고 가로되 내가 곧 너희의 찾는 사람이니 너희가 무슨 일로 왔느냐
Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius ; and said , Behold , I am he whom ye seek : what is the cause wherefore ye are come ?
22. 저희가 대답하되 백부장 고넬료는 의인이요 하나님을 경외하는 자라 유대 온 족속이 칭찬하더니 저가 거룩한 천사의 지시를 받아 너를 그 집으로 청하여 말을 들으려 하느니라 한대
And they said , Cornelius the centurion , a just man , and one that feareth God , and of good report among all the nation of the Jews , was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house , and to hear words of thee .
23. 베드로가 불러 들여 유숙하게 하니라 이튿날 일어나 저희와 함께 갈새 욥바 두어 형제도 함께 가니라
Then called he them in , and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them , and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him .
24. 이튿날 가이사랴에 들어가니 고넬료가 일가와 가까운 친구들을 모아 기다리더니
And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea . And Cornelius waited for them , and had called together his kinsmen and near friends .
25. 마침 베드로가 들어올 때에 고넬료가 맞아 발 앞에 엎드리어 절하니
And as Peter was coming in , Cornelius met him , and fell down at his feet , and worshipped him.
26. 베드로가 일으켜 가로되 일어서라 나도 사람이라 하고
But Peter took him up , saying , Stand up ; I myself also am a man .
27. 더불어 말하며 들어가 여러 사람의 모인 것을 보고
And as he talked with him , he went in , and found many that were come together .
28. 이르되 유대인으로서 이방인을 교제하는 것과 가까이 하는 것이 위법인 줄은 너희도 알거니와 하나님께서 내게 지시하사 아무도 속되다 하거나 깨끗지 않다 하지 말라 하시기로
And he said unto them , Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company , or come unto one of another nation ; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean .
29. 부름을 사양치 아니하고 왔노라 묻노니 무슨 일로 나를 불렀느뇨
Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying , as soon as I was sent for : I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me ?
30. 고넬료가 가로되 나흘 전 이맘 때까지 내 집에서 제 구 시 기도를 하는데 홀연히 한 사람이 빛난 옷을 입고 내 앞에 서서
And Cornelius said , Four days ago I was fasting until this hour ; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house , and , behold , a man stood before me in bright clothing ,
31. 말하되 고넬료야 하나님이 네 기도를 들으시고 네 구제를 기억하셨으니
And said , Cornelius , thy prayer is heard , and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God .
32. 사람을 욥바에 보내어 베드로라 하는 시몬을 청하라 저가 바닷가 피장 시몬의 집에 우거하느니라 하시기로
Send therefore to Joppa , and call hither Simon , whose surname is Peter ; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side : who , when he cometh , shall speak unto thee .
33. 내가 곧 당신에게 사람을 보내었더니 오셨으니 잘하였나이다 이제 우리는 주께서 당신에게 명하신 모든 것을 듣고자 하여 다 하나님 앞에 있나이다
Immediately therefore I sent to thee ; and thou hast well done that thou art come . Now therefore are we all here present before God , to hear all things that are commanded thee of God .
34. 베드로가 입을 열어 가로되 내가 참으로 하나님은 사람의 외모를 취하지 아니하시고
Then Peter opened his mouth , and said , Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons :
35. 각 나라 중 하나님을 경외하며 의를 행하는 사람은 하나님이 받으시는 줄 깨달았도다
But in every nation he that feareth him , and worketh righteousness , is accepted with him .
36. 만유의 주 되신 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 화평의 복음을 전하사 이스라엘 자손들에게 보내신 말씀
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel , preaching peace by Jesus Christ : (he is Lord of all :)
37. 곧 요한이 그 침례를 반포한 후에 갈릴리에서 시작되어 온 유대에 두루 전파된 그것을 너희도 알거니와
That word , I say, ye know , which was published throughout all Judæa , and began from Galilee , after the baptism which John preached ;
38. 하나님이 나사렛 예수에게 성령과 능력을 기름붓듯 하셨으매 저가 두루 다니시며 착한 일을 행하시고 마귀에게 눌린 모든 자를 고치셨으니 이는 하나님이 함께 하셨음이라
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power : who went about doing good , and healing all that were oppressed of the devil ; for God was with him .
39. 우리는 유대인의 땅과 예루살렘에서 그의 행하신 모든 일에 증인이라 그를 저희가 나무에 달아 죽였으나
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews , and in Jerusalem ; whom they slew and hanged on a tree :
40. 하나님이 사흘만에 다시 살리사 나타내시되
Him God raised up the third day , and shewed him openly ;
41. 모든 백성에게 하신 것이 아니요 오직 미리 택하신 증인 곧 죽은 자 가운데서 일어나신 후 모시고 음식을 먹은 우리에게 하신 것이라
Not to all the people , but unto witnesses chosen before of God , even to us , who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead .
42. 우리를 명하사 백성에게 전도하되 하나님이 산 자와 죽은 자의 재판장으로 정하신 자가 곧 이 사람인 것을 증거하게 하셨고
And he commanded us to preach unto the people , and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead .
43. 저에 대하여 모든 선지자도 증거하되 저를 믿는 사람들이 다 그 이름을 힘입어 죄 사함을 받는다 하였느니라
To him give all the prophets witness , that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins .
44. 베드로가 이 말 할 때에 성령이 말씀 듣는 모든 사람에게 내려 오시니
While Peter yet spake these words , the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word .
45. 베드로와 함께 온 할례 받은 신자들이 이방인들에게도 성령 부어주심을 인하여 놀라니
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished , as many as came with Peter , because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost .
46. 이는 방언을 말하며 하나님 높임을 들음이러라
For they heard them speak with tongues , and magnify God . Then answered Peter ,
47. 이에 베드로가 가로되 이 사람들이 우리와 같이 성령을 받았으니 누가 능히 물로 침례 줌을 금하리요 하고
Can any man forbid water , that these should not be baptized , which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we ?
48. 명하여 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 침례를 주라 하니라 저희가 베드로에게 수일 더 유하기를 청하니라
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord . Then prayed they him to tarry certain days .

【행10:1 JFB】행10:1-48. Accession and Baptism of Cornelius and His Party; or, The First-fruits of the Gentiles.
We here enter on an entirely new phase of the Christian Church, the "opening of the door of faith to the Gentiles"; in other words, the recognition of Gentile, on terms of perfect equality with Jewish, discipleship without the necessity of circumcision. Some beginnings appear to have been already made in this direction (see on 행11:20, 21); and Saul probably acted on this principle from the first, both in Arabia and in Syria and Cilicia. But had he been the prime mover in the admission of uncircumcised Gentiles into the Church, the Jewish party, who were never friendly to him, would have acquired such strength as to bring the Church to the verge of a disastrous schism. But on Peter, "the apostle" specially "of the circumcision," was conferred the honor of initiating this great movement, as before of the first admission of Jewish believers. (See on 마16:19). After this, however, one who had already come upon the stage was to eclipse this "chiefest of the apostles."
1, 2. Cæsarea—(See on 행8:40).
the Italian band—a cohort of Italians, as distinguished from native soldiers, quartered at Cæsarea, probably as a bodyguard to the Roman procurator who resided there. An ancient coin makes express mention of such a cohort in Syria. [Akerman, Numismatic Illustrations of the New Testament.]
【행10:1 CWC】The closing of the 9th chapter shows Peter on a tour of visitation, and the instrument of two great miracles, it being significant that the greater of the two was in answer to prayer (v. 40). Almost all the commentators regard these miracles as having a bearing on the crisis of the Church recorded in the next chapter. In that chapter Peter is again to use the "keys," this time in opening the door of the gospel to the Gentiles. Indeed, since the occupation of a tanner was unclean in the eyes of a Jew because of the handling of the skins of dead animals, it is seen that Peter in Joppa is already breaking with the customs of his nation.
As an introduction to chapter 10, carefully read Paul's words in 엡2:11-18. Note, in passing, that the Caesarea in this case was not that of Matt. 16, but another city of the same name located near Joppa, which the Emperor Augustus gave to Herod, and which the latter greatly beautified.
The description of Cornelius (vv. 1-8), shows this Gentile Roman soldier very near the kingdom of God, and an example of how God will reveal more light to any man who lives up to the light he has. But the need of this "more light" in the sense of the knowledge and acceptance of Jesus Christ as a Saviour, is also revealed with equal clearness.
Passing to the vision of Peter (vv. 9-23), the "vessel" represents the Christian church; the "four corners," the four corners of the earth; the clean animals, the Jews; the unclean, the Gentiles. In the Church however, all are cleansed (read here 고후6:11 and 엡3:6). The Lord providentially interprets the vision in verse 17-20. Note the proof of the personality of the Holy Spirit found in verses 19 and 20 -- "the Spirit said * * * I have sent them."
We are now in the centurion's house and listening to Peter's sermon (vv. 24-43). He has had his eyes opened to the great truth expressed in v. 34. This does not mean that any man merits God's acceptance by his natural morality, for the true fear of God and the working of righteousness are always the result of His grace. It means that God vouchsafes this grace to men of every nation, whether Gentile or Jew. Verse 43 emphasizes this, being the first echo of 요3:16 in the history of the Church.
That the household of Cornelius acted on this promise by faith is seen in the result (vv. 44-48), which demonstrates that the Holy Spirit is given to men without either water baptism or the laying on of hands, but simply by believing (갈2:2). Water baptism followed, but not as an act of Peter himself as is worth noticing (v. 48).
The next chapter indicates that party spirit showed itself early in the Church. "They that were of the circumcision" (11:2), means the Palestinian Jews as distinguished from the Grecian Jews or "Hellenists" as they were sometimes called, and who were born in Greece. The priests and the Pharisees belonged to the former who were more zealous for the letter of the Mosaic law than the others (행21:20). As we shall see later (c. 15), they thought it necessary for a Gentile to become a Jew before he could be saved i. e., he must submit to be circumcised at least. But Peter rehearses all the circumstances in the case of Cornelius, and at this junction they appear to be more than satisfied (v. 18).
【행10:1 MHCC】Hitherto none had been baptized into the Christian church but Jews, Samaritans, and those converts who had been circumcised and observed the ceremonial law; but now the Gentiles were to be called to partake all the privileges of God's people, without first becoming Jews. Pure and undefiled religion is sometimes found where we least expect it. Wherever the fear of God rules in the heart, it will appear both in works of charity and of piety, neither will excuse from the other. Doubtless Cornelius had true faith in God's word, as far as he understood it, though not as yet clear faith in Christ. This was the work of the Spirit of God, through the mediation of Jesus, even before Cornelius knew him, as is the case with us all when we, who before were dead in sin, are made alive. Through Christ also his prayers and alms were accepted, which otherwise would have been rejected. Without dispute or delay Cornelius was obedient to the heavenly vision. In the affairs of our souls, let us not lose time.

gave much alms to the people—that is, the Jewish people, on the same principle as another centurion before him (Lu 7:5); thinking it no "great thing," if they had "sown unto him spiritual things, that they should reap his carnal things" (고전9:11).

Thy prayers and thine alms—The way in which both are specified is emphatic. The one denotes the spiritual outgoing of his soul to God, the other its practical outgoing to men.
are come up for a memorial before God—that is, as a sacrifice well-pleasing unto God, as an odor of a sweet smell (계8:4).

a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually—of the "soldiers under him," such as the centurion at Capernaum had (마8:9). Who this "devout soldier" was, can only be matter of conjecture. Da Costa [Four Witnesses] gives a number of ingenious reasons for thinking that, having attached himself henceforth to Peter—whose influence in the composition of the second Gospel is attested by the earliest tradition, and is stamped on that Gospel itself—he is no other than the Evangelist Mark.

God knows what services are before us, and how to prepare us; and we know the meaning of what he has taught us, when we find what occasion we have to make use of it.

【행10:19 MHCC】When we see our call clear to any service, we should not be perplexed with doubts and scruples arising from prejudices or former ideas. Cornelius had called together his friends, to partake with him of the heavenly wisdom he expected from Peter. We should not covet to eat our spiritual morsels alone. It ought to be both given and taken as kindness and respect to our kindred and friends, to invite them to join us in religious exercises. Cornelius declared the direction God gave him to send for Peter. We are right in our aims in attending a gospel ministry, when we do it with regard to the Divine appointment requiring us to make use of that ordinance. How seldom ministers are called to speak to such companies, however small, in which it may be said that they are all present in the sight of God, to hear all things that are commanded of God! But these were ready to hear what Peter was commanded of God to say.

fell down at his feet, and worshipped him—In the East this way of showing respect was customary not only to kings, but to others occupying a superior station; but among the Greeks and Romans it was reserved for the gods. "Those who claim to have succeeded Peter, have not imitated this part of his conduct" [Alford] (therein only verifying 살후2:4, and compare 계19:10; 22:9).

Ye know it is … unlawful … for … a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation, &c.—There was no express prohibition to this effect, and to a Certain extent intercourse was certainly kept up. (See the Gospel history, towards the end). But intimate social fellowship was not practiced, as being adverse to the spirit of the law.

Of a truth I perceive—that is, "I have it now demonstrated before mine eyes."
that God is no respecter of persons—Not, "I see there is no capricious favoritism with God," for Peter would never imagine such a thing; but (as the next clause shows), "I see that God has respect only to personal character and state in the acceptance of men, national and ecclesiastical distinctions being of no account."
【행10:34 MHCC】Acceptance cannot be obtained on any other ground than that of the covenant of mercy, through the atonement of Christ; but wherever true religion is found, God will accept it without regarding names or sects. The fear of God and works of righteousness are the substance of true religion, the effects of special grace. Though these are not the cause of a man's acceptance, yet they show it; and whatever may be wanting in knowledge or faith, will in due time be given by Him who has begun it. They knew in general the word, that is, the gospel, which God sent to the children of Israel. The purport of this word was, that God by it published the good tidings of peace by Jesus Christ. They knew the several matters of fact relating to the gospel. They knew the baptism of repentance which John preached. Let them know that this Jesus Christ, by whom peace is made between God and man, is Lord of all; not only as over all, God blessed for evermore, but as Mediator. All power, both in heaven and in earth, is put into his hand, and all judgment committed to him. God will go with those whom he anoints; he will be with those to whom he has given his Spirit. Peter then declares Christ's resurrection from the dead, and the proofs of it. Faith has reference to a testimony, and the Christian faith is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, on the testimony given by them. See what must be believed concerning him. That we are all accountable to Christ as our Judge; so every one must seek his favour, and to have him as our Friend. And if we believe in him, we shall all be justified by him as our Righteousness. The remission of sins lays a foundation for all other favours and blessings, by taking that out of the way which hinders the bestowing of them. If sin be pardoned, all is well, and shall end well for ever.

he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness—This being the well-known phraseology of the Old Testament in describing the truly godly man, within the pale of revealed religion, it cannot be alleged that Peter meant it to denote a merely virtuous character, in the heathen sense; and as Peter had learned enough, from the messengers of Cornelius and from his own lips, to convince him that the whole religious character of this Roman officer had been moulded in the Jewish faith, there can be no doubt that the apostle intended to describe exactly such saintship—in its internal spirituality and external fruitfulness—as God had already pronounced to be genuine and approved. And since to such "He giveth more grace," according to the law of His Kingdom (약4:6; 마25:29), He sends Peter, not to be the instrument of his conversion, as this is very frequently called, but simply to "show him the way of God more perfectly," as before to the devout Ethiopian eunuch.

【행10:37 JFB】37. That word … ye how—The facts, it seems, were too notorious and extraordinary to be unknown to those who mixed so much with Jews, and took so tender an interest in all Jewish matters as they did; though, like the eunuch, they knew not the significance of them.
which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee—(See Lu 4:14, 37, 44; 7:17; 9:6; 23:5).

【행10:38 JFB】38. Now God anointed Jesus of Nazareth—rather, "Jesus of Nazareth (as the burden of that 'published word'), how God anointed Him."
with the Holy Ghost and with power—that is, at His baptism, thus visibly proclaiming Him Messiah, "the Lord's Christ." See Lu 4:18-21. For it is not His unction for personal holiness at His incarnation that is referred to—as many of the Fathers and some moderns take it—but His investiture with the insignia of the Messianic office, in which He presented Himself after His baptism to the acceptance of the people.
went about doing good—holding up the beneficent character of all His miracles, which was their predicted character (사35:5, 6, &c.).
healing all that were oppressed of the devil—whether in the form of demoniacal possessions, or more indirectly, as in her "whom Satan had bound with a spirit of infirmity eighteen years" (Lu 13:16); thereby showing Himself the Redeemer from all evil.
for God was with him—Thus gently does the apostle rise to the supreme dignity of Christ with which he closes, accommodating himself to his hearers.
【행10:39 JFB】39-43. we are witnesses of all … he did—not objects of superstitious reverence, but simply witnesses to the great historical facts on which the Gospel is founded.
slew and hanged—that is, slew by hanging.

【행10:40 JFB】40-41. showed him openly; Not to all the people—for it was not fitting that He should subject Himself, in His risen condition, to a second rejection in Person.
but unto witnesses chosen before of God … to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose, &c.—Not the less certain, therefore, was the fact of His resurrection, though withholding Himself from general gaze in His risen body.
he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead—He had before proclaimed Him "Lord of all," for the dispensing of "peace" to all alike; now he announces Him in the same supreme lordship, for the exercise of judgment upon all alike. On this divine ordination, see 요5:22, 23, 27; 행17:31. Thus we have here all Gospel truth in brief. But, forgiveness through this exalted One is the closing note of Peter's beautifully simple discourse.
【행10:43 JFB】43. To him give all the prophets witness—that is, This is the burden, generally of the prophetic testimony. It was fitter thus to give the spirit of their testimony, than to quote them in detail on such an occasion. But let this apostolic statement of the evangelical import of the Old Testament writings be devoutly weighed by those who are disposed to rationalize away this element in the Old Testament.
whosoever believeth in him—This was evidently said with special reference to the Gentile audience then before him, and formed a noble practical conclusion to the whole discourse.

【행10:44 MHCC】The Holy Ghost fell upon others after they were baptized, to confirm them in the faith; but upon these Gentiles before they were baptized, to show that God does not confine himself to outward signs. The Holy Ghost fell upon those who were neither circumcised nor baptized; it is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. They magnified God, and spake of Christ and the benefits of redemption. Whatever gift we are endued with, we ought to honour God with it. The believing Jews who were present, were astonished that the gift of the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the Gentiles also. By mistaken notions of things, we make difficult for ourselves as to the methods of Divine providence and grace. As they were undeniably baptized with the Holy Ghost, Peter concluded they were not to be refused the baptism of water, and the ordinance was administered. The argument is conclusive; can we deny the sign to those who have received the things signified? Those who have some acquaintance with Christ, cannot but desire more. Even those who have received the Holy Ghost, must see their need of daily learning more of the truth.

【행10:46 JFB】46. heard them speak with tongues and magnify God—As on the day of Pentecost it was no empty miracle, no mere speaking of foreign languages, but utterance of "the wonderful works of God" in tongues to them unknown (행2:11), so here; but more remarkable in this case, as the speakers were perhaps less familiar with the Old Testament songs of praise.
46-48. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water … which have received the Holy Ghost, &c.—Mark, he does not say, They have received the Spirit, what need have they for water? but, Having the living discipleship imparted to them and visibly stamped upon them, what objection can there be to admitting them, by the seal of baptism, into the full fellowship of the Church?
【행10:47 JFB】47. which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we—and are thus, in all that is essential to salvation, on a level with ourselves.
